Service was marginal. I got a pork salad with 2 oz of pork I had more salad dressing than meat. Disappointing

Pretty fast and easy! Pork burrito made as you watch! We were there and got fresh tortillas, didn't have any old food. They made our food fast and we were eating quick.

I actually love the food here! The reason why I'm giving it three stars is because of the assistant manager. She is rude and snotty every time I go. I have actually walked in, saw that she was working, and decided to go to a different costa vida. If she could change her attitude then this place would be a lot better.

As good and better then Cafe Rio because it's closer to my house. LOL Shredded pork Burrito--- Very Good, very Good. They also have daily lunch specials that make it even better then Cafe Rio because of the affordability.

It's basically a Cafe Rio knock-off and everyone that's been both places knows it. The manager at this location is always in a hurry and it seems the employees get bothered by him. Food is a little bland compared to Cafe Rio. It gets the job done though.

After reading other reviews on Costa Vida chain, I decided to write this one because I think the quality of food may vary depending on the location. I always order the fish tacos and they are very good. They used to use Mahi Mahi and now I think they use Cod. It's a small down grade, but they are still good. They grill the tortillas and top them with the fish, white sauce which is to die for and cabbage. Then you can ask for pico de gallo, cilantro, lime wedges, or anything else you want. THey are always very generous with their portions of rice and beans. Also this location in down town Ogde, UT is by the wave runner, so you can watch people trying it and falling. Kids would love it.

I love costa vida.... I think it's always a craps shoot on if your food is made correct and good though because there isn't like precise measurements, like if I order a veggie salad I should receive more veggies than someone who ordered a chicken salad. Just sayin'

I have to give a mixed review: My daughter loves Costa Vida, and I think it's so-so. For fast food, its not bad, but its not as good as many of the other local Mexican restaurants. The food is rather sloppily put together and it's done right in front of you. That's a turn off for me. Take a few extra seconds and at least act like you give a crap about what you are making.

Somehow I ended up ordering the sweet pork salad, and boy, they sure did deliver on the sweet. I was convinced they had poured a gallon of Pepsi syrup on my salad. Honestly this was some of the worst food I've ever had. Also, the staff seemed extremely stressed out. I feel bad for whatever they may have been dealing with.

I've been here a handful of times and i've never really had a problem except I think these places are a little over priced. My wife loves it but i've heard a lot of local stories about people finding insects in their salads. So clearly the lettuce isn't being stored properly or something else......... Also if water is dropping from the leaking roof I don't recommend standing directly under it and looking up so that it gets in your eye. Maybe step back a few and look at it from an angle.

The atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly. The food was okay, I've had better... The 'sweet' pork burrito was way too sweet...the burrito was decent but a future visit would have me trying something different.

I will never eat here again. Not only did we find hair in our food, but there was also a black bug baked into the tortilla. Which we only discovered after we'd eaten all of the salad and gotten down to the tortilla part. When we told the kid 'in charge" he just shrugged. Now I don't know about you, but when I want Mexican food, I'm not really talking about bugs or hairs or any other unidentified objects. And when I go to a restaurant, I expect politeness and at the very least an apology if there's a bug in my food. Gross guys. So to recap: service is bad. Food isn't very good, plus it has bugs in it. Prices are meh. I think I will stick with Cafe Rio forever.

Perhaps we caught them on a bad day. The staff was indifferent to the customers. The dining area hadn't been cleaned and stank. We couldn't stay to finish our food.

A very badly served place. The roof was leaking near the order area. Had some water drops get straight in my eyes. The food was old. The manger refused to take written complaint. My eyes caught infection. Never go to this particular costa vida. The manager was extremely rude.

Over priced !!! The cola machine was out. The gal making the food seemed put out when asked if I could get more pico than a teaspoon of it. Then having to deal with the flys I have to say NOT a pleasant experience.

The food here isn't 5 or even 4 stars. However the service I get every time I go into one is awesome! I'm super picky in how i want my food to be, without skipping a beat with my demands of how little or how much of something I want to go on my nachos they do it with no problem. They understand when I say " can I have my chips separate from everything else?"....I don't like the soggy-ness:-) I'm going to give 3 stars because of SERVICE, i do like your sweet pulled pork-its alright. If I could give 1/2 stars then I would do 3 1/2 stars. I think you should have coupons for your food every once in a while though.

This is my favorite place to eat in Ogden. They have the best chicken enchiladas. My favorite thing is their fresh corn tortillas though... Yum. The staff here are all very nice. Adriana,Anna and many more there have been really kind and helpful. They just remodeled so it is a fun cool environment to be in.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
