Just wow! if you ever want an old school burger with fries, in Ogden this is the place to go. A most excellent bacon/cheese/avocado burger and the fries were great too.

OGDEN, UT: Stopped in at Best Burger, a 40-year-old drive-in burger joint surrounded by a vast and menacing crowd of chain fast food restaurants. How has this little hold-out survived? Must be good food? Had to investigate. Ordered the Best Burger, Fries, and a handful of shakes. Everything exceeded my expectations: Fries are the thick variety, like you'd get at Red Robin. I don't like this style much, but Best Burger serves them right out of the fryer. Makes them quite good despite inherent weakness. They are piping hot. Best Burger: This burger well exceeded my expectations. It was very smoky/charred tasting, with plentiful fresh toppings. The bun was fresh and soft. There were unexpected grilled mushrooms as well; terrific. Shakes: Shakes were good, couldn't tell if the ingredients were dipped or soft serve. I would give four stars if they took just a little more pride of ownership; the place seemed pretty dirty. Please clean your windows and spray off the exterior drive in area.

Let me get this out there--this was a phenomenal burger and fries. Really. I went for the straight 1/3 lb. burger which was fresh, warm, and flavorful. It truly embodied everything I look for in a standard American hamburger. Juicy, but not overly greasy. The fry sauce was great, although I could have gone for a little bit more as the serving cup was probably only half-full. Something about the pickles on this particular burger left a smile on my face. Maybe it was just that you could truly taste them? The wait was much longer than anticipated, and I was even prepared for a wait after reading some reviews. I went through the drive-thru on a Sunday and sat a solid 40 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitter about it, but I think 20-30 minutes is my threshold for fast food. But hey, it was pretty much worth it. Not to mention, these guys work hard at what they do, and they deserve your business. So if you're thinking about going to In-N-Out down the street, head here instead for an equally comparable (if not better in some ways) hamburger experience.

It had been a long time since my last visit, so I forgot how good this place was. I went through the drive through and had to wait for quite a while, but it was worth the wait. My Best Burger combo was outstanding. Truly one of the best burgers I've had in years. The fries were also delicious. Crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, I enjoyed every bite. I will be back.

Truly is a burger with strength. Super tasty, the best is the bacon burger with swiss. Really love the fry sauce and onion rings. The lime ricky is also beast. Really can't go wrong with just about anything here. We are regulars.

A burger is a burger and thats all it is to it. Nice couple that run the establishment. Fry sauce was awesome. Fries was good. Just the burger was a little char'd and it just didn't have that ya' thats a burger. A little on the blan side as well. The seating area was small and compact. Around noonish the whole restaurant feels like your baking in the oven.

I ordered the bacon, mushroom burger combo. I was surprised by how big the portion size was for the price I paid. Not to mention, the burger was very juicy and tasty. I think I found a new favorite burger joint. Who needs Crown Burgers when I've got Best Burger that is located just 5 mins from my house. Two thumbs way up!

3/4/2012 - While the facility (eating area) could use a re-model and the heat needs to be turned up in the winter time, I've really enjoyed the signature "Best Burger" over the last few years with thick cut bacon, grilled mushrooms, swiss cheese and that special sauce. It quite literally drips grease.... but soooooo good. Like many other reviews have stated, the fries are quite tasty and the fry sauce is mixed perfectly. On my last visit, I ordered the beef teriyaki sandwich for a change and the meat was a little chewy. I'll try the chicken teriyaki if I go that route again. *** a sign on their soda dispenser reads "one refill only". *** wear a jacket inside the restaurant in winter time.

This is our #1 stop for burgers. It is run by a super-nice Asian couple. They make excellent hamburgers and good fries. Their buffalo wings are awesome. Prices are VERY reasonable -- where else can a family of six dine for $30 and get good quality food? Skip Burger Bar and go to Best Burger instead.

Best burger truly is what it says...best burger EVER. I had the Vanilla shake and cheeseburger combo. I am normally not a vanilla person and prefer chocolate...but oh-my-geez! I seriously think they put crack in this shake because I am always craving their vanilla concoction. Their burgers are just like I like them completely filled with fat. It was a very juicy burger and for fun I'll quote Pulp Fiction and say "this is a tasty burger!" I would recommend this place to anyone. The only thing that I feel bad about is that it is always the same man and woman who work there, so I feel like a slave driver going there because they always seem so busy. But I forget all that once I eat the food. I guess my way of repaying them for their hard work is the continued visits I make and by posting this review. Three thumbs up!

I don't know that it's THE best, but it's certainly a quick and easy location for a burger that tastes like you grilled it yourself (and are good at actually doing so, and remembered to buy all the good toppings). The onion rings are excellent, and the fry sauce is indeed made with BBQ sauce. It's different, but quite good.

Was in SLC for work and stopped off at Best Burger for lunch. From the outside, Best Burger looks like your typical hole in the wall burger hole left over from the 60's trying to hold on as the McDonalds & Burger Kings took over the fast food burger world. Everything here is very dated, even the parking lot looks like it hasn't been repaved since Carter was President. But don't let the exterior faade fool you, because I have to admit, I'll take this burger over most burger places I've been too. The menu here is simple, they really only have a couple of burger options and their exotics include Chili Burger, Bacon Burgers, and Mushroom Burgers. Most of their combos here come under $7. For that you get a nice size burger, French Fries, and a Coke. I decided upon the Bacon Burger Combo at $6. Burger took about 5 - 10 minutes to cook, but I have to say, well worth the time. The burger had nice strips of bacon on it, it was fat and juicy, and the lettuce and onions on it were nice and fresh. The French fries also seemed freshly cook and was seasoned just right. While not the "Best Burger" I ever had, I would say "A Damn Good Burger" is more appropriate. Glad I made the stop here at Best Burger and would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a Burger.

Like this place says it's the best around Ogden. I can't think of any better burger nearby. The burgers have great quality meat and other ingriedients. It takes a little while to get your food there, but you can't rush quality. Their fry sauce is pretty good I hear , although I hate that stuff. Another reviewer talked about the portion size and I really can't understand that. Every time I would order a burger and fries I would end up totally stuffed, like can't move I was so full. Maybe that dude is a racist. The place is run by Koreans now and maybe he saw his friend die face down in the mud outside of Inchon, I don't know, just speculating here.

Best Burger used to truly be the best local burger -- in taste and value. The real specialty is the 1/3-lb Pastrami Burger, which you could enjoy for a couple bucks less than the local Pastrami Burger Standard: Crown Burger. Still a pretty good value for the burgers alone: a solid 4-star. The Mushroom and Best Burger are good choices, too. Since the place was purchased a couple years ago from the former owner Dennis, it has seemed to drop. The prices went up, the portion size slightly down. The menu expanded to include a few more choices, but none of these sandwiches "deliver". Add that the quality of the fry sauce seems just slightly down in quality from before, plus the new owners are more stingy and less friendly. Best Burger always had the "only one refill please" policy, but it was more tolerable of a policy when the price/value ratio was better, the facility newer, and the staff more friendly. Kid's meal options still suck, and the new vegetarian burger is a poor value, though it tastes okay. And, as always, hold the onions. (Why do they put so many damn raw onions on a sandwich?!) Here's to hoping Best Burger some day regains a reality more suitable to their name.
