Scaddy’s Menu

Absolutely horrible, everyone claims it's fresh. How can my "Philly cheese steak" & "fresh cut fries" be fresh and handed to me within a minute?? You can clearly tell the fries are not fresh cut. The prices are ridiculous and the Philly cheese steak was awful. I could have gotten double the food with better quality at the same price from any other sandwich shop. Even subways philly is better! That's sad... I am one to love a good greasy food joint but this place is just horrible. Please don't waste your time.

Do Not Waste Your Money!!! We recently went here and ordered their fish and chips. The worst ever, the fries are soggy and full of grease, the fish was very small for the amount they charge tasted old, frozen and the breading was all doughy inside when biting into it. The coleslaw was uneatable and tasted like a mouth full of vinegar. Disgusting food and they charged us $10.99 an order for it. We will not return again and not recommend anyone else to go there either.

This place wasn't that much better than any other fast food joint. However it is locally owned and I like that. So just that alone makes it a little above average for me. They sell the typical burgers and fries that extended barely past average, however they do offer to put all sandwiches on ciabatta bread which as I'm sure you are already aware makes all things better. None of our meals came with fries but because we ordered like 40 bucks worth of food they just gave us a tray packed with fries which was kind of that "local" personal touch you typically wouldn't get at a Wendy's. The prices were a little higher than to be expected but not so bad you end up sprinting off to McDonald's the first chance you get. I say if you're in the are and just driving by then by all means stop in. If not, don't bother.

I don't eat fast food regularly, if at all. And I'll have bad dreams tonight about giving a local, family-owned spot one lonely little star. But regardless of who's running this place, and whether or not I'm an expert on burger joints in general, the food I just got from Scaddy's was bad. Really, really bad. I've had things come out of a box in the freezer that tasted better, frankly. With five spare minutes and almost no options for food between my doctor's office and the freeway, a "Hand Breaded Chicken Strips!" sign seemed like a reasonable omen in a pinch. I went through the drive-through--another rarity in my world--and found a good menu, with well-shot photography of big, bacon-laden burgers among other classic American offerings: fries, chicken , soda, lots of things with barbeque sauce. But that's pretty much the end of anything great at Scaddy's. After a FIFTEEN MINUTE WAIT, turning my car off and on four times to try to keep the world from melting in my personal greenhouse gas emissions, I got a gigantic styrofoam box of greasy fries and odd bits of chicken lightly dusted in traces of batter then apparently left to air out for four or five days. These were without question the driest, stringiest pieces of fried anything I've ever had the misfortune of biting into. Mildly akin to turkey jerky, but with far less flavor. The fries were apparently intended to make up for what the strips lacked in moisture: mushy, unevenly cooked, and terribly undersalted. In fact, the whole meal was surprisingly lacking in salt for fast food. The coleslaw promised as a side was nowhere to be found. And I got no napkins. I'm sorry, Scaddy's, but I won't be eating at your establishment again--even in a pinch. The family ought to consider another line of work altogether.

shortened version of the owner's last name or no, Scaddy's is an unfortunate and unappealing moniker for a hamburger establishment. due to mixed reviews from individuals both real and virtual, I decided that I needed to check it out for myself. I was not overly impressed. my primary issue with Scaddy's was a textural one. the fries were instantly greasy and soggy. the bun on the burger looked great, but proved to be far too soft and spongy to hold up to the amount of fry sauce used, and as a result ultimately disintegrated. by no means was it a terrible hamburger, but there wasn't much to differentiate it from other burgers available within a close proximity that can be obtained with not messed up fries. not spectacular. not cheap. just plain meh. I was expecting more and the score probably suffers as a result. sorry, Scad-bro.

Nom nom nom. This place rules. I've been a ton of times and every time has been great! One time I got the guacamole burger and the avocados weren't great. But my sister got the same thing and she inhaled hers so it was just me for sure. Burgers, sandwiches, fries and shakes. All of them so good. And if you go right before closing they give us giant shakes! They're super nice. There is a guy on the grill that's always there and he's super nice to us. I wish more people came here. It deserves patrons. Give them a chance!

I love me some good Fish n Chips, especially Halibut... Does anyone know where I can get some? Because it certainly wasn't here!!! I'm so disappointed! I figured for as much as they were charging they must be amazing! (It was $14 even for a 2-piece with fries and coleslaw.) Well I was really, really wrong. They were over cooked, WAY too much batter and the oil must not have been hot enough, because they oozed with grease. If I hadn't gone to the drive-thru and made it all the way back from my office, 'Id have asked for my money back. Come on guys, If you cant get it right, take it off the menu. It was my first time and I'm afraid to say my last visit to Scaddys.

I have a work associate from San Diego that comes into town about four times a years. A year ago I took her to Scaddy's , now she wants to go there every time she comes into town. She got there big Chefs salad and it's big. I'm not really a salad person but it looked good, I really like their Swedish pancakes, they're BIG, Good and really filling. But for me it's really just their hamburgers (especially the one with the egg on it) and their onion rings. Really good and fast service

I love Scaddy's. I go there weekly, and still can't get enough. Their Halibut is AMAZING. The batter that covers it has tiny bit of spice and the fish is always perfect. Their burgers are also awesome. I usually get a classic cheeseburger, and it never fails to impress. The buns are amazing - light and fluffy. The fries are super great as well. Can't forget to mention the awesome employees. Seriously - Anyone I've ever met there has been happy and friendly. Always willing to help...and great people to ask regarding recommendations on the menu!

I try to support local places rather than large chains as often as I can. This place has a great tasting burger and fries. It is definitely fresher than your regular burger joint. They also have some tasty fry sauce. So why the 3 stars? The down side is the price. While the food is good it does not quite deliver to the standard of its price. They only time we go here is when we get coupons in the mail for a free item which than makes it totally worth it. If you have a coupon go here, but if you don't you'd be better off somewhere else.

I've been here several times now, and when I first went I loved it, it was my favorite restaurant in town. With each visit the magic wears off. I loved the Philly cheesesteak, but after ordering for my wife and daughter realized we could have gone to Olive Garden or something nicer for that price. Dropped over $30 just for me, my wife, and a two year old. If you want a combo you have to give them a limb to pay for it. It's pricier than other similar restaurants, but outside the cheese steak, nothing special.

Man I wish this place was as good as it was when it opened. This location is near my work and we used to stop by quite often to grab burgers/cheese steaks. We had a couple of sub par meals and had avoided it for over a year. Fast forward to today and I decided to give it another go. Man was that a mistake. What was a sub par meal the last time is now basically inedible. I ordered a cheese steak and fries. Nothing that should be overly complicated. The problem is the meat that is being used now is no where near the quality that it used to be. I literally have 75% fat and 25% meat sitting in this sandwich. With places like DP Cheesesteak and Moochies nearby I am not sure how they sell these things. The fries are fine, but nothing spectacular. Adding insult to injury they have used masking tape to cover up all their old prices and increased them. You now pay a higher price for significantly worse food.

We had passed by the place a few times, and were interested, but everytime we parked to come in you could see the bum looking people from the plasma donation place coming over. Today we tried it, and suffice to say, we will no be returning. I got their lowest price 1/2 pound "Scaddy" burger and a small drink for 8.50. Little over priced for a quick burger place. She got a footlong, med drink, and fries (yes you have to pay for everything separately, no discount for combo) for 9.05!!! The food looks like that of your normal Crown Burger or Atlantis burger. The tables were dirty, and the customers were to say the least low income. Which begs to ask why they would come to an over priced burger place when they could hit the Red Robin down the road and have better service, food, and environment.

Their Philly Is So Good I Like the Spicy one..so Bomb! Like seriously...fried Jalepenos?! (Granted I Love Spicy &Jalepenos) so yum

Went in for the first time today and before ordering I needed to use the restroom. As I was walking in one of the employees was walking out, no big deal right? However, I was disgusted to find no soap in the bathroom and that employee back cooking the food. I passed on ordering anything and will not be back.

  • Kyle J.

This was impressively horrible. I ordered a three piece order of fish and chips with a drink and paid $17.00. All of the pieces of Fish and Chips were over battered and not fried enough, then the fish itself didn't taste good at all. Their fries were okay, but were kept in the back in a plastic tub, pre cooked. And that's surprising considering how long it to to get my food. It's also a dirty place and the people that work there are not excited to be there (understandable). I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

  • Megan S.

Biscuits and gravy are a dish that I've had a hard time finding well done here in town. I've surprisingly found that in a drive-thru close to my house! The biscuits are soft and dense in the best way they really hold the gravy well and don't fall apart. The gravy is very nicely seasoned and is the perfect consistency not to thick and for $2.99 a great deal. The Swedish pancakes are really yummy too

I was very disappointed with Scaddy's. The food was overpriced, considering I could've ordered a meal of the same quality at a Carl's Jr. The staff wasn't very friendly (which is fine, I know how it goes) and the tables weren't clean. If you're looking for some fries and a shake, I suggest saving some cash and looking elsewhere.

We stoped in today for the first time. Wow what great burgers we all had the scaddy burgers. I had add egg and bacon. These are good and filling. They have great fries and awesome onion ring. Good people and great service. Go and check them out.

    (4)
  • Terry G.

Underwhelming. The burger was tasty, the bacon was thin deli bacon, not what I'd expect for the price. The chicken was tough. For a local business to advertise fresh food, I expected hand breaded chicken and better food quality.

  • Rebecca P.

I can't recommend Scaddy's, at least not for lunch. There was a long wait in an otherwise empty restaurant, so I had time to anticipate my guac burger and onion riings. Sadly, I was disappointed. The onion rings were too thinly battered and underseasoned, the burger patty was thin and the toppings were both cheap and sparse. Nevertheless, I paid more than I would have elsewhere. At least I got good ole Utah fry sauce!

  • Edward O.

Really unimpressed considering everything I'd heard about this place. Food was tolerable, but nothing special and definitely not worth the price. Just a big meh.

  • David P.

I love this place - hands down my favorite burger around. I don't get crazy and I like a straight forward burger, and this is it with all the right flavor and texture. Fries are also top notch, crispy outside smooth inside. Did I mention the buns? Just perfect. The staff is really friendly and the price is very reasonable. Need a little something else - get a shake, you won't be sorry.

  • Crystal A.

Overpriced for the quality and portions. Turkey & Swiss on sourdough, small onion rings, and small (think kid sized) soda, will set you back $10.18. Yikes!

  • Lori K.

Half pound blaze burger with onion rings is a must! Great food to refuel after a long weekend. Love the portion sizes and the fresh fry and onion rings! Delish!

  • Todd P.

I love the burgers here they are delicious! I think it's the bun that makes the burger and the bun is soft and delicious. One of my favorite burger places around. I have 2 complaints about this place: The bacon is paper thin (like something you get at Wendy's) so don't spend extra on bacon. Also the men's bathroom is disgusting. There is something growing in the urinal and the tile floor has black grease caked on it. Which makes me wonder about the kitchen. You know what they say the best way to know if the kitchen is dirty is to look at the bathrooms.

I never actually been here before, but I stumbled upon this place in one of the search for rewarding places. I believe this used to be a Sconecutter joint. There is a drive-thru for ordering like most fast food joint. I ended up getting the fish and chip because I saw some shouts about it in the other reviews. It turned out to be somewhat disappointing, as if other reviewers never had fish and chips in other places before. The breading is amazingly thick, and I think it was actually thicker than my grandmother's old skins. I would say about the same thickness and the fish, definitely felt like I was eating bread rather than fried fish. The fries were ok. When it comes to fast food, grease is definitely not a concern, but Scaddy surely did a number on me with their 3-inch thick breaded fried fish.

They have a bacon cheeseburger with deep fried jalapeño Peppers on it here. I hate spice/have stomach ulcers - but love this burger. Trust me when I say it's super filling. You can usually find coupons for them in the paper / junk mail.

When Scaddy's first opened my husband and I were in LOVE. The food was so good. We were there twice a week. Seeing the owner there wasn't unusual. The bacon was so thick, everything so fresh...I didn't blink at the prices. Over time the bacon shrank, the fries not as fresh, and I even got a shake that tasted like the milk had gone bad. Over time we just stopped going. I want my old Scaddy's back.

I've eaten here two times in the past month - once for breakfast (which I had a burger) and once for lunch (which I had breakfast). It was great that the owners/staff would help me out by cooking the type of food for that I was in the mood for, regardless of the time of day. The food is pretty decent. I like the burgers and the breakfast. The swedish pancakes are good. Lots of food per serving. I like that they also provide condiments such as a variety of hot sauces, garlic salt, and vinegar... that is a nice touch in addition to the standard ketchup and fry sauce. The food is also cooked fresh - and relatively fast- when you order. No hot lights at this place. That makes the food better but I'm not sure how the drive-thru folks fair... probably similar to crown burger in that you may need to wait a while. The staff is friendly and I really enjoyed my time there. My only complaint with the food is the bacon. It is just standard fast-food fair. Upgrade the bacon and the place would be amazing. Oh, and this location is open on Sunday. Always a plus in Utah. Overall, I would say this is not my favorite burger/breakfast place but it is in my top three.

I was kind of surprised to see so many bad reviews, as this place is in our "Let's eat greasy junk for dinner" top favorites. I guess it's a matter of personal taste. Greasy? For sure. Their fries are obviously fresh cut and have that weird and delicious sog-factor that probably not everyone appreciates. The onion rings fall apart all over the place, but both items are so reminiscent of home cooking that maybe that's the appeal? I just know I like them. We used to live about a block from this location, so I have tried most of the things on the menu. I know there's a great battle in the cheese steak realm, but I will admit to loving theirs a lot. The chef salad is huge and a good value, and the $3 junior combo meals are as well. They also offer a veggie burger, which is a huge plus for any little burger joint.

I had the French Dip on sourdough. I thought it was pretty good, better than average. The fries were nothing special. Overall a little pricey but the food was typical greasy spoon fare. I will go back, but I think most of these reviews are a little harsh. Service was friendly and efficient at a busy time of day.

    (3)
  • Paige B.

Philly cheese steak was good. Service was better than average fast food place for sure. Pass on the chili cheese fries. I had to wait extra time for these than my Philly and they were disappointing. The chili is a very runny one so your fries are super soggy and gross. Would be better with a thicker chili. Friends told me tonight that they didn't offer the same deli Sammie's as the one off of redwood and 3300 south.

    (2)
  • Kris B.

The fish and chips were decent, although the size of the fish pieces were small for the price we paid. Think fast food chain interior with a more family feel behind the counter. Would like to come back and try some of their other options, especially the pastrami.

    (3)
  • Tom C.

Going to have to come back to tryout their philly cheesesteak cuz I just didnt have the appetite today. But their cheese fries are amazing here I must say. Inside is clean and prices are normal.

    (5)
  • Terry D.

I usually have the foot long hot dog with onion rings. The thing I love about it most is that they slice it down the middle and grill it making it crispier and HOT. Nothing worse than a luke warm, steamed hot dog. The onion rings are fat and crispy and delicious. The service at both locations is always friendly and prompt.

    (4)
  • Jen T.

This is our all time favorite burger joint. I don't what any of the low reviews are about. Their "blaze burger" with deep fried jalepeños is by far the best burger I've ever eaten in my life. Their mushroom swiss burger was amazing. Grilled chicken sandwich was amazing. Chili was great. My super picky toddler LOVES their chicken strips. The Philly cheese steak wasn't my favorite, but hey, every restaurant has the things they're best at. The service is here awesome, the food is homemade, and they always have basketball on TV. Plus, I love supporting a local family-owned business. Please, go here. Unless you're one of the haters who leaves bad reviews for fun.

  • Matt H.

There was nothing special about this place. I got the guacamole burger and actually got sick afterwards. The onion rings were ok but not the best I have had. I have friends that like this place a lot so I may give it a second shot but not anytime soon.

I decided to give Scaddy's a try after driving by the place several times, although the fact that the parking lot was always a ghosttown should have warned me of what's to come. The first time I went, I tried the Swedish pancakes, which were average; not terrible but not great. The next time I went, I got a simple combo meal of 2 eggs, toast, and hash browns to hold me over til lunch. For $8, this is BY FAR the saddest excuse for a breakfast I have ever received in my life. And I had to wait for nearly 15 minutes in my car, a ridiculous amount. I ordered my eggs over-medium, because I've always found over-easy too runny. What I received was two eggs that were so overcooked they were completely inedible. The brown crust that had formed on the bottom of the egg was impossible to cut through with the plastic utensils included. The yolk was disgustingly chalky and spongy, totally cooked to death. The hash browns were soggy and undercooked, not seasoned at all. There was brown all over the hash browns but they weren't "crisp." And the portion was huge and unnecessary. How they can truly expect people to want to eat over a pound of undercooked hash browns is beyond me. The toast is the only thing I was able to actually eat, though I wouldn't have been surprised if they had messed that up too. That being said, it wasn't "great" toast either, it was obvious the bread wasn't fresh. Although I just got a basic meal of eggs, toast, and hash browns, truly good breakfast restaurants can take that and provide you with a hearty, delicious meal. What I got from Scaddy's was so far beyond disappointing that I can hardly believe they're still in business. Do people enjoy eating stuff like this? Because I sure don't. Save your money and go to IHOP or Village Inn. Despite the fact that they are large chain restaurants, at least the breakfast I receive there is consistent, cooked the way I asked, and tastes pretty good. For $6.99 you can get a meal that's much more delicious and satisfying than the $8.40 pile of mush I got from Scaddy's.
