As usual my five guys burger was great. The regular was almost too big, I should have gotten the junior. The fries are great as well. They always give you way more than a regular should have, nice to get good value for your money

I don't understand the love people have for Five Guys. Our fries were soggy and flavorless. The burger was okay but not 7 dollars okay. The proce they charged for what we got: A regular fry, A cheesburger, and a bacpn burger. $18. Not worth it.

Coming back a few more times from my last review and this location has done enough to drop a star. The burgers both times have been overcooked black pucks and the fries have been worse than what I usually recieve from them. Hope they can pick it back up and this isn't a trend.

Five Guys is always a solid choice. Their burgers are always on point. I usually order the cheeseburger, but I always forget that the "regular" has two patties. If you want a more normal-sized burger, the "mini" size has one patty. It took this location some time to get my order out, which is understandable on a Saturday at lunch time. As far as cleanliness goes, I think this location could step it up a notch.

Decent burger, but avoid this location. Manager has an attitude, they don't care about their customers. I've eaten here several times but won't be returning. No that there's a habit burger and Smashburger within 200 feet, there's no need to be treated like a number at 5 guys.

I love five guys, but this one is one of my favorites because the service is always really friendly here and its a bigger five guys. The new soda machine they have is awesome, tons of variety and fun to play with.

Love Five Guys! Best chain restaurant burgers and fries. Love the hand crafted patties and skin on fries. The only thing I'd say constructively is that this location isn't as good as others I've been to. It's mainly due to the quality of their toppings. Others I've been to have better lettuce, tomatoes etc. They need to be more discerning about what they put on the delicious burgers. Also, Five Guys as a whole, should do away with the outdated in store reviews and magazine covers... or get new ones at least.

What's not to like about freshly grilled burgers, unlimited choice of toppings for free (get the grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and best pickles ever!), fresh cut Everest size mountain of fries with all you can get fry sauce (the Cajun was a bit too overpowering for my liking, so I stick with the regular), and peanuts? 5 Guys is one of favorite go to places when you're in the mood for a juicy burger and fries. However, I do steer clear of the cheese here (tastes like processed Kraft singles). Everything else is a keeper!

My friend and I went to five guys for dinner on Sunday night. I've been to five guys before and it has been fantastic! When I went there on Sunday night it was very slow and we walked right up to the counter. When we ordered it took us a long time to get our food. Maybe because they were making it from scratch, but I've gone there before and it was much shorter. I didn't mind the wait too much. When we got our food it was good, kind of mediocre. The bun was a little soggy and the fries weren't as good as I've had them before. The food was good, but just good. If you ask me, a little overpriced for the taste. I would come back and probably will, but now mediocre is all I expect from there.

Love the fact that you can get a fresh cooked burger loaded down with so much stuff. It's like eating a backyard burger from home. The fries are good and the free unshelled peanuts are a bonus. But to top it off; any place that plays 70s rock 'n roll cant be all that bad.

I've eaten at enough of these and referenced the chain enough times in other reviews that I figured it really oughta be on one of my lists somewhere, at least one of them. I'm not ranking all of the locations, since they're fairly similar to one another and yes, the quality of the burger can vary slightly and the fries deviate a bit more, but I don't go for the fries and the burgers never slide too far and at their high point are maybe not the best I've ever had, but are good enough that I use them as a litmus against which all other burgers are judged. If that's not enough for a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is. This is definitely a lunch I can only attempt as dine-in though, yowza! To have it my way, choose either single or double patty, add cheese, bacon, mushrooms, jalapenos, A-1 sauce and get thee face full. Sometimes I will also add green peppers and less frequently a little splash of lettuce, but that's more of an option; the other toppings are standard.

I've been hooked since my first Five Guys Burger in 2009! Always fresh and hot! Their fries are amazing and they always load the bag! You definitely get your money's worth! I will be a lifelong Five Guys customer!

I really shouldn't eat here. ..... but.....I do lol. The burgers are really something delicious. I always get mine bunless because of my dietary restrictions and for quick food burgers they do well with the lettuce wrap. After eating the fries here I could die happy and go to greasy heaven. Which is a special place for greasy food to scrumptious for words. Haha. Seriously though, worth every cheat day meal for sure!

Five Guys is pretty average for your average burger. Of fast food burger chains this definitely rates above fast food like McDonalds of course, but falls below In-n-Out in my opinion. The burgers themselves are decent, just nothing special. Fries are also decent but nothing special. No shakes or specialty drinks. So in summary, nothing special :)

    (3)
  • Owen L.

The burger I ate there is by far the best burger I have and will ever have.It is not only the burger it is also the finger licking fries that they pack in your bag. I say it is by far the best place I have ever eaten and I am really really picky!

Five Guys is for sure one of the top chain burger places in Utah. For a fast food burger I would place it 3rd. I like In-n-Out and Crown Burger better. And if you're interest in a non-fast food burger I highly recommend Lucky 13. Five Guys does rank high with me for the build your own burger options they provide. My custom burger comes with two patties, cheese, mayo, ketchup, lettuce, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. Their burgers are always made to order, fresh and super juicy. I personally am not a fan of french fries, however, the Cajun fries are pretty good. There does seem to be a discrepancy from location to location with the amount that they give you with your order. While it is not my favorite place to get a burger it is nice to have options.

  • Felipe Z.

Best thing about 5 guys is the overflowing fries everywhere in your paper bag that satisfies the inner fatty in all of us burger + fries lovers. Their burgers are great, and having the option to build it however you want is always fun.

The Cajun fries are the best thing ever! Dipping the spicy fries in fry sauce is soo good. And the fry sauce is free. I think I like the Cajun fries better than the burger haha. I could make a meal out of just Cajun fries! But he burger is still way good also. The fries are cooked in peanut oil and it gives them a different taste that's amazing. The burger has a homemade cooked taste to it. They grill it up after you order and you can watch them cook it so you know it's better quality than regular fast food. They have a ton of toppings you can add to the burger for FREE. The burger comes on a yummy sesame seed bun. The bacon isn't very good. That's the only thing they precook and have sitting in a basket to add to the burger. It's VERY hard, crunchy bacon with no flavor. I love getting mayo, pickles, lettuce and ketchup on my burger! Eating five guys is like a good homemade burger with a bonus of awesome Cajun fries!

Know what I like about Five Guys? Well, nothing stands out. Know what I don't like about Five Guys? Hm. Nothing stands out either. I guess I could waffle between 3 or 4 stars on this one, but I got a slight nudge in the fourward direction (pun intended, obviously) for the gobs and gobs of things you can put on the burger without being nickled and dimed to death. True, you won't be saving a lot of dough by going here. On a pure pound for pound scale, you're getting more bang at other fast food joints. But it's not about the pound for pound measurement, is it? That's what I'm double satisfied that when you fork over more dough you can pick from a bevy of toppings. Besides the standard condiments (ketchup, mayo, mustard, etc) and standard toppings (lettuce, tomato, and so forth), you get grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapeños, green peppers, steak sauce, or hot sauce. Just tell them what you'd like and they'll dress it up. You should also be warned about the size of their fries, or rather the serving of fries. Get one order to share. You'll be glad you did. There are better burgers in town, based purely on the epicurean merits. But as fast food goes Five Guys isn't a bad place to pop in every once in a while if you're in the area.

I tried their animal style fries and found the onion to be burnt and over powering. My fries were limp and extremely greasy. The only good thing here was the service and their semi above average burger. Everything else was so-so. The ice tea was also very watered down.

Pretty dang good hamburger, great service and food. Probably the best chain burger place.

  • George K.

Can I start out by saying I just don't get the peanuts? Peanuts don't go with burgers. My guess is it's cheap fare that they can offer without a dent in profit. It feels out of place for me. The burgers were decent, seasoned well. Their fries were greasy. They gave us a ton of them, and they were still pretty good, but I could have wrung out the bag they served it in. Someone told me Five Guys was better than In and Out. I can emphatically state that In n Out still holds the crown for best fast food burger chain I've ever had.

  • Grason R.

This is actually a hard review because I find it difficult to give somewhere such a high rating when their food is what will end up being the death of me. Don't get me wrong, I know the burgers are bad for me... but damn they are good! They have a choice of 1 or 2 patties and a ton of (free) toppings. One of my absolute favorite parts about Five Guys is that they get all their beef and potatoes from as close to the store as possible. They even have a sign telling you where the current shipment came from! The downside to Five Guys is how fast it will kill you. Okay, not really, but when you eat there you should give yourself a little extra time to move around the rest of the day. The price is decent, and they also have free peanuts all over the place. The price is good, the food is better, and the heart attack that follows is surely worth it!

I love the burgers but dear God how do they get the caloric intake so freaking high. Do they fry it in baby seal fat?

  • John M.

I have been told about this place by no less than half a dozen locals as "the place to eat", so after wondering around the area, I decided to stop in and see what they hype was all about. The menu is basic... regular size burger, smaller burger.. what is not basic??? The condiments. Grilled mushrooms and onions at no extra cost? Your kidding! This is wonderful! The patty itself was a standard size with a bit of flavoring, but the enhanced list of toppings can give the burger a distinctive and unique flavor. The fries come in two sizes and two flavors... regular and Cajun. The Cajun flavoring wasn't all that strong, but good flavoring all in all. The small size could easily feed two... Drawback??? About $10 for a small burger, small fry and small drink. Its a bit pricey, but with the condiments and unlimited soda refills, it can be placed in the "gourmet burger" arena pretty fairly. The roasted peanuts are a nice and different touch for those that cannot wait for their burgers to be served.

  • Vida A.

I am not a burger girl but when I have a craving this place is my go to place. Burgers are juicy and you can add anything you want! Fries are ok, people love them but i find them lacking in taste. They offer peanuts in the shell while you wait which I dont get but oh well, I like it! For the price, this place is waaaay better than most places.

  • Chris Y.

This place got too much hype. They also hype themselves up waaaaay too much. Inside, everywhere you look, there is some sign claiming the award for "Best [something-or-other]" in Washington, DC, way back in 199x or 200x. I don't care about what the East Coast people think! I also don't understand the boxes of free peanuts... I don't really think peanuts and burgers go together. Anyway, I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a soda. I was surprised that it was over $10. Upon getting my order, I realized that the portions are quite large, but I don't know if that really makes up for the price. "Cheeseburger" actually is a DOUBLE cheeseburger, so I assume that the "Little" Cheeseburger is the single-patty. They were good, and you can load up on whatever toppings you like (and you should, if you wanna get your money's worth). Unfortunately, I thought the mushrooms on my burger were pretty bland. Burgers are definitely good though. Fries were good, too; you can choose either "Five Guys Style" or "Cajun Style" and my buddy and I each ordered one. "Five Guys Style" just means regular, salted french fries. "Cajun Style" is "seasoned." The "Cajun Style" were ok, but they were the exact same fries, with just some cayenne pepper or something added in. Good thing it doesn't cost extra, cause it wouldn't be worth it. My buddy and I both agreed, stick with the regular fries. An order of fries is pretty giant, and can easily be shared. Unless you are a fan of burgers with a lot of fancy extras, like jalapeños, mushrooms, and bbq sauce, I'd stick with In-N-Out. It's half the price for food that is equal in almost every way. I don't understand all the In-N-Out bashing from the other reviewers, though. They're BOTH above-average burger joints!

Five Guys serves up some of my favorite burgers and fries. Their food is always cooked to order (TWO PATTIES!) and served up fresh and tasty. We ate at this location for lunch today and my girlfriend and I both had bacon cheeseburgers. My burger was great with plenty of bacon on it and just enough cheese. The fries were delicious. I don't know what Five Guys puts on their fries but they sure are addictive, I snarfed down way too many times during the meal. For good burgers and fries look no further.

    (4)
  • Craig B.

This is the place I love to go for burgers. Not In n Out. The burgers are juicy, the selection of condiments is wide. Fries are great. They are not crisp fries so if you can't abide a softer mouth feel to a fry you want to avoid them. And best of all, open on Sundays (unlike Apollo, Atlantis, Crown, Astro and Hires) One complaint: Onion rings and Shakes. They are needed.

    (4)
  • Scott S.

This is by far my favorite burger chain. The ingredients are always fresh and the fries are generous, a small is quite large. Unless you are a big eater, go little with one 1/4 lb. patty instead of the regular with two.

After five visits to Five Guys, it's time for the verdict. The Bacon Cheeseburger is a disappointment. The bacon is way too thin and the thin beef patties are nothing special. This burger doesn't even come close to any on my list of the top five burger joints in the valley. The french fries are soft, droopy, and utterly distasteful. They serve them in a cup, then in a bag (Five Guys doesn't have trays for some reason), which steams them even further into a flaccid mess. They do give you ALOT with the regular order, but they are so bland and mushy I just end up tossing over half of them anyway. French fries are one of those foods that simply are better frozen than fresh. With fresh spuds, it is hard to get a crispy exterior, unless you first wash them in cold water to remove starch, and fry them twice. I'm pretty sure Five Guys does neither. A bit too pricey as well. Eleven bucks and change for my BCburger, fries and lemonade. I guess if you are willing to load up on a half a bag of limp fries, then it may be worth it. And the free peanuts don't make up for it. Who wants peanuts with their burger anyway? I don't get it. Five tries, Five Guys. You're out.

OK, Five Guys is not exactly "fabulous," per se. In fact, it's pretty darn down to earth. There are no frills, the menu is simple, and even the color scheme is just one color above monochromatic. But when you're famished, the burger is about as good as anything you'd make on your home bbq. We found ourselves at Five Guys on Saturday night after a long day of errands, spring cleaning, furniture assembly, shopping, and toddler chasing. I had a gift card that persuaded us that burgers would be better than messing up the kitchen or mustering the effort to cook. The great thing about Five Guys, and what really is fabulous about the restaurant, is the toppings. There are lots of them, and they're free. All you gotta do is ask, and they're all there in front of you so you can pick from them. While my two-year old opted for a bland and plain burger and My Better Half for a one with toppings mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce and onions, my appetite ordered for me, and I'm not sure what toppings I didn't put on the burger. I do know that what I got was zesty. Yeah. That's the only word to describe the spicy meal I ate. I was halfway through my third bite before the heat of the jalapenos was zipping through my taste-buds, mixed with the acidic taste of A-1 sauce that dripped off the burger and over my fingers. I'm a little embarrassed to say just how fast I finished. It wasn't because the burger was that large, because it didn't seem like more hamburger than any other place, just not preformed. Also, I was surprised at how many glasses of water I had to down before I cooled the heat from the peppers. I've never had jalapenos on a burger before, but I'll be having them again soon. The burger tasted home cooked, but with the toppings took on a life of it's own. One last note: the fries. I'm usually a fairly good judge of fries, but Five Guys' had me befuddled. They were warm, and they dumped so many into the "regular" size cup that it overflowed into our bag and fed us far more than we needed. They were fresh cut, or at least they tasted fresh (and the bags of potatoes piled in the middle of the room seemed indicative of freshly cut potatoes...), and were just crisp enough to add the welcome addition that french fries are to an American burger. I came famished, and I left fed, and happily so. No complaints, and I'll be back again soon.

IN N OUT IS WAY BETTER AND KICKS THEIR ARSE. The french fries are soft, droopy, and utterly distasteful, even when served right away and hot. Not crispy or tasty. Makes me wish I went to IN N OUT everytime I eat here.

after 6-8 visits ambience: B+ service: B food: B regular burger w/mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion my first 3-4 visits were wonderful 4 star experiences - juicy thick double patty burgers, where the meat is the star. my last 2 visits, however, were disappointing. flat double patty burgers, where the meat stays juicy for 30 seconds, then feels like a downgrade to in-n-out burger. the first time i experienced the flat patties i thought, it must be the cook, or a fluke. when it remained flat on the 2nd visit, i could only hope five guys turns things around, or they'll end up losing their clientele who expect a thick juicy double patty burger.

Ever wondered why they call it In-N-Out Burgers? Because as soon as it goes in your mouth, it's coming right back out. I'm not a person that buys into the In-N-Out hype, honestly it's a phenomenon that I haven't ever been able to understand. Mediocre burgers and fries with a mystical "secret menu"? Which is why Five Guys is the god send savior of my burger world. The burgers and fries are prepared on site, not frozen, which is reason alone to check this place out. The menu is a little limited, but everything that should be there, is. They'll do your burger up however you want and the topping menu is pretty robust. The fries come regular or cajun, I recommend the cajun! The customer service here is awesome, the staff is friendly and treats their customers very well everytime I've been in. The burgers are fairly priced and significantly less than the gourmet burger joints like Acme and The Counter. The only "downside" here is that a regular fry order has entirely too much! Two people can split the regular fries and still have more to spare. Five stars for Five Guys!

After I read my dad's review, I was really excited to go. I've heard nothing but good things about it. It's like the In-n-Out of Utah (seriously, next time you go to Las Vegas, say to any local that you hate In-n-Out and they will stab you to death). They had a great choice of toppings (gotta love the grilled mushrooms) and OK fries, but the location wasn't very fun. Maybe I just have to get used to the fact that I'm in Utah now and there are more crying children per capita. Maybe that's why they give you your food in a big bag, because you'll want to bolt out before the whining gets worse. Either that or they want you to sneak some of the peanuts they have out for while you wait to take home. The burger was pretty good but not as good as I was lead to believe. I'd definitely go back, but maybe next time I won't get so much sauce or maybe just get it to go.

The burger fans of the world are so partisan. You either fall into the In & Out camp or tr Five Guys camp. Or maybe you prefer Hires Big H locally. I consider myself a burger expert, and I find some things to appreciate at many burger joints. I guess I don't pick only one Platonic ideal for a hamburger. What I love about Five Guys: - the toppings. You can have as many as you want, and there are great options from which to choose. - the fries, especially the Cajun fries. They use russet potatoes and fry them in peanut oil. Makesure to immediately rip open the bag to let that steam out. Steam is the enemy of fries! - the tinfoil. Hah! Seriously, the way Five Guys wraps their burgers really makes te cheese melt up nicely. It all congeals together for the gutbomb you were seeking. Bravo on this step. - the patty size. I usually get a "little cheeseburger to save room for a shit-ton of fries. You can handle a full cheeseburger without needing an angioplasty though. What I don't always love at Five Guys: - the meat. Out of over 35 visits to this Five Guys and others in New Jersey and Pennsylvania I have had a few "off" patties. They weren't off in the extreme sense...just a little cheap tasting. It's my only criticism.

  • Charlotte A.

Yum Yum Yum! Great tasting patty...lots of toppings choices (no extra charge), great fresh cut fries...cooked perfectly. Love the peanuts too. Now know they are also in CO (back home) and although far from our house I will go there when craving a good burger.

I've heard a lot of hype about how good the burgers are, and I have to say they are pretty good. You can tell the meat is really high quality and the portions are more than generous. A great burger.

So many fries, so little time! Burgers are made to order with lots of toppings thrown on, free!!!! Industrial environment, but what do you want for a burger joint? Peanuts thrown in in case you just can't wait to chow down. Really, really good quality meat!!!! Gotta have good meat!

The best burger I've ever had and I don't even like burgers! I've eaten Five Guy four days in a row without complaint. For less than nine bucks, you can get the most tender patty with cheese, amazing cajun fries and a drink. I get mine with jalapenos. This is about as good as SLC gets

Best Burger in Town! Love the fries! Fast service! Fun and welcoming atmosphere! Great Veggie sandwich for my Vegan son. This place rocks! Only bad thing, they give you way too many fries!

I love Five Guys. Their meat has the perfect beefy flavor. The fries are delicious and plentiful. I almost always share an order of fries with friends. Their burger toppings are high quality too. I really like the grilled onions and mushrooms.

Hmmmm.... Where to start... This place is like In-and-Out, but a little bit better. They cut the fries and grind the meat on site. It's good. It isn't horrible, but I have had a lot better for less. When you enter Five Guys you walk into a line. A looooonnnngggg line if you have arrived after 11:45. So I suggest you arrive earlier. The time you spend in line is farily quick, but it gives you time to notice the sacks of potatoes (oooo they get them from Idaho, doesn't everybody?), the fryer grease jugs and various other items that they actually store out in the front of the restaurant. The storage is was separates the lines from the diners. The dining room is wide open with lots of tables, but none to sit at because you arrived after 11:45. So you stand in line watching for an opening and hoping that you can snag it before the guy in front of you. Mental note: "don't get drink first, snag table." So you get up to the front and it is your turn. You have choices, burger, burger or burger, fries or no? What do you want on it? That is about it for the choices. They do have a veggie burger, but really, could it be any good here? I didn't try it, so I don't know, but I doubt it. The fries also come with a choice, Cajun (means really, really salty) or not. So I choose Cajun. Big mistake, it has salt with a bit of spices.... The burger I got with grilled mushrooms, bacon and all the normal toppings. It was ok. Juicy, but not super thick and nothing, to run screaming out into the streets, fabulous. The bacon was old and chewy, probably cooked in the morning, it all came out in the first bite. So the verdict. 3 stars for no drive through, limited seating, long lines, crowded dining room and all that for a ho-hum burger and fries. I do like it better than that In-and-Out place though.

  • Stuart J.

I know five guys! Well, doesn't everyone? Anywho, this isn't a typical fast food burger joint, it's a little more expensive for a huge burger with whatever toppings you want. I always get the Bacon Cheeseburger (which anywhere else is a double, remember that) with Cajun Fries. Good Stuff!

    (4)
  • Rich L.

It's what in-n-out burger could be. The fries are similar but much better they have a bunch of toppings at no additional charge and I'm not talking crap toppings I mean Sauteed onions or muchrooms and jalapenos. The location I went to was clean and nice. I helped myself to the free peanuts but my food was ready before I could set down and eat them. I guess it's an up and coming chain out of the DC/ Virginia area. They definately have it together.

Five Guys is awesome! Utah has a lot of good burger joints, but this place is among the BEST! Fresh fries, fresh burger and fresh toppings all add up to make for a great experience!

  • Sarah B.

This place is all hyped up and for good reason. The burgers are amazing. Fresh meat and toppings! None of that microwaveable-will-not-go-bad-for at least 30 years- McDonald's shit. The fries aren't my favorite, but hey they're fresh and cut right there. They're more like potato wedges actually. The prices aren't too bad either. You get a decent meal for your money. I think Andrew S. pretty much wrote everything there is to write about this place, so I'll keep it short. Although the line is frightening at first, they'll get you right through. I've never had a hard time finding a seat. People tend to eat and run for lunch, so more than likely by the time you get through the line you'll find a seat. I've never been there for dinner so I couldn't tell you if it's any different. That's all I've got then.

    (4)
  • Jim D.

The burgers are good. They taste like what you would make at home in your backyard if you knew what you were doing. The fries are fresh-cut (big plus) and you can get them regularly or (mildly) spicy, but they're not consistently excellent so don't believe all the hype. Massive portions. A "little" hamburger is 1/4 pound.

I grew up in southern California eating In-N-Out religiously. Then I moved to New York City where I settled for Five Guys as the closest thing to In-N-Out. Now that I'm living in Utah I won't waste my money at a Five Guys. You're paying east coast prices for a burger that doesn't rate as high as In-N-Out's burgers. The bottom line is this. I eat better burgers for a better price at In-N-Out.
