The food was quite good but I give it 2 stars for the overall experience: 1. Wait time: we had a 7pm reservation and we're not seated until 7:40. That's bad clock management. 2. Cleanliness: our countertops were movie-theater-floor sticky. For that reason alone I would not order sushi at that place. 3. The food and entertainment by the chef were great. All in all this place has a lot of potential but there are many other hibachi restaurants around that are a better overall experience for the money.

If you are from out of town, don't bother with this restaurant. Sushi in Utah is pretty much centered around Maki rolls and real sushi is very hard to find. You won't find it here. The miso soup had no dashi stock, was luke-warm and was the absolute worst Miso soup I have ever tasted. The rolls were acceptable but my Chirashi sushi bowl was also one of the worst ever, sloppily put together with no art whatsoever and the fish was not sliced well nor was it supremely fresh as it needs to be. It contained only tuna and salmon, no other fish! This is not what a Chirashi is, they are clueless. The Ikura (salmon roe) sushi was fresh and had a nice flavor which was an exception. The check was brought before we were asked if we wanted green tea which I don't even think they had. There is very little real care put onto the food and the food is served sloppily. The hibachi tables may be the only reason they remain in business.

We have eaten here a few times. After this visit we may never go back again. The service was horrific. I have never been to a restaurant where the staff made you feel uncomfortable. We waited just over a half hour before the chef came out to cook out meal. The server Zack had an arrogance about him self. He gave the impression he wasn't thrilled at the fact we didn't order more expensive dishes and all the fixings. We don't eat red meat or seafood. The manager her self had an attitude as well when we mentioned the bad service. It's just sad to spend all that money on dinner to be treated that way. We should have gone to McDonalds.... At least they serve with a smile. LOL!

My mom, wife and son have raved about this place so I finally gave it a try. Had the all you can eat sushi. Food was amazing. Sushi rolls were huge and flavorful. Definitely going back for more.

I used to come to this restaurant when we lived in Lehi and Draper. They used to sell gift card with 10% off that could be used immediately. So I normally purchased either $50 or $100 gift card, as I came down to the restaurant. Our favorite tepanyaki chef is Abi... He came from Bali, Indonesia and really skillful. I heard that he is no longer working there. In this restaurant, the tepanyaki is better than the sushi. The tepanyaki will start with either fried rice or noodle. I recommend strongly on the fried noodle because it is really tasty... Then followed with fried vegetable. During all these cooking, the chef would play some trick, my sons favorite is the "TuTu train" using the onion. Basically the chef chopped the onion and stacked them to look like a volcano, then he would put water inside and it looks like a smoky train... The meat will come next, I recommended the fillet mignon as it is really tender with shrimp (oh yes, it's tasty...). The chef would normally play "throwing shrimp into everyone's mouth", I suggested you participate as it is fun ... They provided the ginger and mustard sauces, I prefer the later and normally I requested separate chiracha to add some spiciness. This place is good for family dinner, but they would max one table so there's chance that you'd get mixed with other family in a tepanyaki table. The price is rather steep as it'd cost you easily $30 per person without drinks and dessert. If you like to have both drink and dessert, it'd cost you easily $40 without tax and tip. So I don't come here very often and the reason I gave 3 stars is that I felt I got high end dinner with $50 per person type of dinner. The service is average and if you come on Saturday evening, you need to come early as there're quite number of people ...

Ok food. Very, very slow service. Plan on spending a couple of hours here. They will ask if you prefer noodles or rice but they don't tell you there is an additional charge for them. They include the tip on your bill and then ask for an additional tip on top of that. Won't be going back.

DANGER: flying spatulas, bursts of fire, razor sharp knives and flying food! That's outside in the parking lot trying to get in! (Sorry, still working on the funny part) There was a time about 5 years ago that we ate here at least weekly for quite some time and I was burned out! We were reacquainted recently and it was an amicable reunion. There were 7 in our party and the grill was a fun option. The kids love the show ending with the shrimp toss. The part where the chef throws a piece of shrimp at everyone and you try to catch it with your mouth is always a hit. Food is fine. I like the filet, noodles and vegetables. Salmon, shrimp and scallops chicken and New York steak are all available as well as fried rice. Meals served with a cup of broth/soup and a house salad with ginger dressing, always plenty of food! There is a sushi bar in addition to the grill but I haven't tried it. You are able to order sushi at the grill as well.

The food isn't half bad and the cooks are good. Now the waitstaff aghh. Apps out with main meal. Didn't ask what side and got stuck with steamed rice which they forgot. Doubled sushi order which was equivalent to that at a gas station and draft beer isn't. It is a bottle and over priced. Wonder if the Japanese place in the strip mall would have been better.

I went there for the all you can eat sushi for lunch. I enjoy Sushi House on 500 E in AF, and I really wanted to see how this place compared. It was extremely disappointing. It costs $14 a person (plus 18% gratuity). I don't think I'd pay $5 to go back there. The fish was of very low quality, felt slimy and didn't have very good flavor. I will never go back. If you are reading this to decide if it's worth going for the sushi, trust me, it is NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. Please go somewhere else. Please. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because their normal food is actually decent.

Very dirty place. The staff just sat around in the dining area all on cell phones. The sushi wasn't prepared very well at all it just fell apart as you picked it up. The egg rolls the same thing. I wasn't impressed. The show wasn't good he felt like he was bored doing his job. Waitress never to be found. When we asked for boxes she turned them upside down in a mess some of the box melted on the grill then gave us our ice cream for us to hold because there was no room. Did mention how dusty and nasty the decor was? Even the carpet.

Wow what a mistake!!! They put the three of us at a large table that sat 8. Then waited till patrons trickled in and filled the table up before taking our order. Here we are an hour later, no food! And we have to wait for the chef to come cook it at our table!!!! Not fun! Horrible service. We have given up and are just going to leave and go to Chick-Fil-a. At least they will serve us. Do not eat here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went here with my soon to be wife and we sat at a table with a group of random people. The Chef came out and was very friendly and engaging. He got all of us to interact with each other and we all had so much fun. The food was incredible as well. Everything was above and beyond. I will be taking my wife here often! I Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have fun and eat some good food.

Will not go back again. Other party in our group found ants cawling on floor after one crawled up their leg. No discount was given to them for this unsanitary find. Manager just told them to put lemon water on them and they will go away. Older building but still a health code violation.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I've spent a good amount of time waiting tables so I'm usually lenient on service... Not here... Hands down worst service ever! Walked in and stood around waiting while 5 servers sat on their phones. If only we had walked out then, unfortunately we didn't. We had just driven 6 hours and were starving so we got someone's attention and were eventually given a table. Waitress was rude.... Food was ridiculously over priced. Husband had a 20$ beef plate that came out cold. I had sushi that was subpar.... Had to walk to the front for our check... 15 people on staff and maybe 10 people in the restaurant. You'd think they'd have it together... Nope. Save your money and your time!

This was an expensive disappointment. The food is not very good. The chicken was dry, and the salmon, shrimp & scallops were cooked way longer than they should have been, making them tough and dry. We won't be going back there.

I've gone through stages of being pretty much obsessed with their noodles. I asked one of the chefs some secrets and learned how they make their sweet teriyaki sauce. I don't go there for sushi. It's average and I learned that they buy salmon from Costco.

We ate at this Teppanyaki location on Saturday for lunch and it was great. I've eaten at different teppanyaki-style restaurants dozens of times and our chef on Saturday was probably one of the best, if not the best teppanyaki chef I've ever seen. He had a great sense of humor, did some amazing tricks, and cooked some delicious food too. Service was great all around and the staff was friendly and attentive. One issue I did have is that I called before showing up and asked about their lunch special. My lady who answered seemed to say they had a teppanyaki/hibachi lunch special but when I showed up that wasn't the case. Pretty disappointing. I was hoping for a less expensive lunch option but instead paid dinner prices. The meal was great nonetheless and I would recommend this restaurant.

Ton's of Food! It's cooked right in front of you so you know exactly what your getting. Its fun to sit and talk with the others at your table while you watch them prepare your food and eat. The Chef's are usually very entertaining but it's all about the food. Be ready to be feed a great meal and entertained!

Our party of 7 went at about 5:20 on a Saturday night. The place was beginning to fill up, but we didn't have to wait at all. We were given prompt, courteous service, and saw no issues with our orders. The chef was delightful and kept giving various nicknames to everything he was cooking. All obligatory knife tricks and food play were included. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, though one should come to a place like this knowing they're paying first for the entertainment. There's nothing particular amazing about the dishes, and I think this may set Tepanyaki just slightly below others (especially Benihana). In particular, I've noticed the dishes offered here are slightly more standard (most featuring the same handful of ingredients) and a bit more saucy. But perhaps this isn't a negative thing--just different.

Delicious food, great atmosphere and great service! I had the soft shell crab appetizer, spicy tuna hand roll, spicy tun roll and the Rock 'n Roll roll! I highly recommend all of them!

This was my second visit to the all you can eat sushi special. At $13.25 it was a great deal. 4 Spicy Tuna Hand Rolls, 4 Spicy Scallop Hand Rolls, 8 Special Mussels, 1 Philadelphia Roll, 1 Orange Roll and 1 Playboy Roll. I washed it all down with 3 Cokes. The average cost for each item was approximately .75 cents...wow! The best thing of all? It was all fresh and delicious. If you are looking for a great meal deal, you need to give their lunch special a try. Come hungry like I did for maximum value.

Delicious, fresh food. We ordered shrimp, salmon, chicken and steak. Plus scallop sushi. My son-in-law was disappointed that their all-you-can-eat sushi is only available for lunch or Sunday brunch. Our chef was entertaining.

It's okay. I am fairly certain that the actual appeal of this particular chain is rooted in the novelty of having a funny Asian chef fry you up your food right in front of you. The chef making people laugh and trying to get people to catch shrimp in their mouth seems to distract people from the fact that the menu is pretty limited and pretty mediocre. They do not offer anything for those that do not like Asian food. Teriyaki chicken is probably your best bet. It's okay. I usually end up here once or twice a year with a friend who is celebrating a birthday. I go because I am obligated but this is not somewhere that I would ever come looking for great food.

My husband and I come here often. We love it. The food is great. The noodles are my favorite. Today we had Eddie as our chef tonight and he did AMAZING! He was our favorite chef thus far. He was very personable and made our food very delicious. We were very satisfied with our experience. There is also a cute blonde waitress named Kaylee, I think, and she too is awesome she's helped us a few times as well. I've read other posts about the wait and I agree sometimes it takes a while to get a table and get food, but it's that type of restaurant where the chef cooks at your table so it makes sense they want to fill the tables with guests for optimal dining efficiency. We will continue to frequent this location. And suggest you do as well. Ask for Eddie and Kaylee.

Rose and I stopped over in Lehi, UT on our way to Colorado. We were tired but hungry, and this place was literally right across the street from our hotel. Rose had yet to visit a Japanese Steak House since arriving in America, so I thought it would be entertaining for her. Besides, I knew they would have rice. You've no idea how important rice is to a Filipino. I found them in Yelp, called over a reservation, and off we went. We walked over and arrived a few minutes early. The hostess, a matronly Japanese woman, was friendly and efficient. We were soon seated at a hibachi table with a family and another couple. Orders were taken, and soup and a salad arrived. I had a steak and chicken combo, and Rose got steak and shrimp. There was of course vegetables and fried rice all around. The chef was friendly and skillful, and produced the usual Japanese Chef kind of show you get at these kinds of restaurants. My food was great, I must say. Rose was thrilled with it; in no small measure because of her generous portion of fried rice! If ever we have occasion to be in this part of Lehi, Utah again, I expect we'll go back. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. We were seated in a decent amount of time but waited nearly 45 minutes for the chef to come to the table. The waitress was rude. The food was disgusting. Way too much sauce and it was burnt. We barely started eating when the waitress asked if we wanted boxes. We said yes and she immediately took our plates and boxed up our food. Such a waste of money.

Not worth it!!!!!! Food is good, ginger salad dressing is awesome. However, it never fails- reservation or not, you'll wait at least an hour just to be seated. Then after you're seated, it'll be at least a half hour before the "chef" even comes out to cook. Certainly don't come here on an empty stomach. It's way overpriced and not at all worth the wait. Don't bother.

We always request Mark. He is very funny and makes the experience even better and he does a great job with the food. We didn't have to wait too long on a Friday night which was an added bonus. My steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly and we had a great time. The wait staff always had my water filled which is a big deal for me.

We went to the lunch all you can eat service and thought this was pretty good. We tried seven different rolls and liked some and didn't like some. No one in my family is a huge raw fish eater and usually try to order cooked fish. But, the menus don't indicate which roll has cooked or raw. We ordered the lemon salmon and was surprised to see that it was raw. But, we ate the whole thing and it was better than anyone expected it to be. Next time, we will ask which rolls are raw and which aren't. My husband ordered one of the spicy rolls, and it was really really spicy. Overall, we thought the sushi was good and the all you can eat was nice. My 2 year old decided to drink an entire saucer of soy sauce and he was not happy when the effects of it, hit him. The waitress was really nice about it and gave him a sucker. The waitress was very friendly and helpful as well.

Awful service - had a reservation for 7:30, waited 25 minutes and then when when I asked how much longer it would be I was told I was "pushing too hard" - I don't know why they bother taking reservations at all. I will never go back.

  • Kelvin G.

Service is terrible. The server we had grabbed every bowl and glass from top a definite no no. Way slow over an hour to get soup and salad.

    (1)
  • Kyle F.

Pretty good food, way way over priced compared to the other tepanyaki places around. It was almost 30 dollars for filet and noodles. Half of the "tepanyaki" chefs appear to be BYU students with no actual training, they are white, young, and dont have any tricks. Most of the fun of going to a place like this is to have a chef that puts on a show, not some 19 year old girls fumbling around awkwardly. Go to Tokyo down the street instead, it is half the price and is just as good.

  • Anstrum J.

The first thing you will notice as you walk in the door are the hordes of overweight Americans waiting to be seated. Never fear, they are there for the wrong reason. Just smile at the waiting crowds and the hostess as you head straight to the sushi bar in the back of the restaurant. Japanese sushi chefs - check, Japanese waitress who hardly speaks English - check, full sushi menu - check, large portions - check, a sense that you are eating something that should not be this good - check. I celebrated a recent Marathon finish here. What a fantastic find in rural Utah. The communal 12-person make-your-dinner-in-front-of-you-while- you-sit-there-and-watch-the-Japanese guy-throwing-knives thing is not worth the hour plus wait (though I suppose those who endure the wait would differ) and is three stars at best..

Kind of underwelmed with this place. The food was ok and it is kinda fun to watch them cook it but it is overpriced for what you get.

Great food the show they put on makes the cost worth it. Try it for yourself the Fillet Mignon and Shrimp are the best

I've been to the Teppanyaki in Orem, Lehi, and West Jordan and all of them are fabulous. We always order the NY Strip and the noodles are a MUST. This place is not cheap but it's one of the few places we've found that are totally worth the money. The food is to die for and the "show" they put on when they cook (Benihana Style) is great fun for the kids. The really love the onion "volcano" and the bursts of flame. All around great restaurant!

  • Alex M.

One of my favorite places in Utah County. The food is excellent (a little pricey compared to the average Utah eatery) and great for families. The kids never get tired of the chefs routine...throwing knives, tossing shrimp to catch in your mouth, etc.
