Most Wendy's locations are fast. This one isn't. On my most recent visit at 12:15 pm on a weekday there was only one elderly woman working at the counter. I don't use the term "elderly" lightly. She was well past typical retirement age and appeared to be having the time of her life using these newfangled "cash registers" and feeling like she was running the show. She was unbearably slow. The woman ahead of me had to correct her on several items on her fairly large order for her family and then when her food was brought out (before my order was taken) she noticed several items were missing. Then she checked the receipt and found that at least she wasn't charged for them, so they went through the ordering process again and it was just as painful to watch the second time. The customer kept looking at me apologetically, and I tried to give her a sympathetic, "We're all in this together" look, like it was some sort of community hardship. Really it was just slow service at a fast food joint, and I know that isn't a major tragedy, but it speaks volumes about this location's management that they only had this one (admittedly delightful) old woman running the counter during the lunchtime rush. With service this bad the only way they are able to stay in business is the major name & signage, the fact that they are one of only a couple of options for fast food in that area on that side of the freeway and outside the mall, and the easy access on the way to the freeway. This is the closest fast food to my home (yes, it's slightly closer than McDonalds next door) and I am happy to drive past it even though Wendy's is probably my favorite of the major international fast food chains.

I love Wendy's, but not this location. They are SLOW. The guy at the counter has a nasty long "utility" thumb nail. He needs to either cover that thing up with a glove, or get a chainsaw and trim it down. Who knows what is living and breeding under that fingernail. Please don't touch my fries.

LAYTON, UT: Hey, three stars for being (1) open until midnight, (2) having chili that is actually healthy and well-priced (taste is meh), and (3) having the fancy new Coke dispensers with 1,000 flavors!

I will not be returning to this place. We had good service from the front register. Until I turned around and watched an employee wipe off the drink station and condiment stand with a nasty rag that was soaked with water still. I had to wipe down the drink dispenser with a napkin to use it. This restaurant was very dirty! The condiment stand looks like it has not been cleaned in months! There was no ketchup in the dispensers. The dining room smelled as it looked. If your dining room is that bad. How dirty is the kitchen where they are preparing food? Ewe! Never again Wendy's!

After several years away from this location I found myself begrudgingly trying it again. Big mistake. First of all, Wendy's is Wendy's; the food is pretty standard at any restaurant and you know what to expect. This review will mainly reflect cleanliness and service. Upon arriving we immediately noted that they were way understaffed for 6 pm. It was a Sunday, so the dinner rush wasn't huge inside but the drivethru was going nuts. Since the lobby didn't have many people in it there was only one person working. That one person was taking money, serving fries, and a little later even mopping the floor. Not once did I see him stop to wash his hands, or even put on gloves. Yes he was in my view the entire time, no he did not use hand sanitizer either. I was put off by this to say the least. Around 6:30, after first guy had handled all my food with his fecal fingers, the dinner crew finally started arriving. The kids meal that I had ordered was supposed to come with a toy from the Sea World collection. Our four year old wasn't too happy when a generic plastic POS was included instead. I approached the counter to ask about trading the toy they gave us for a Sea World one instead, as was advertised around the lobby. A new worker was waiting at the front when I inquired and he told me that they were out. When I asked why they still have all the demos up he said, "You'd be surprised at how little time we have to take those down." Not an acceptable answer and this annoyed me. I told him it wasn't my problem how much time he had, I only wanted what I paid for. He said, "That's not problem, I'm not the manager." I cannot begin to understand how throwing your manager under the bus was going to help in this situation. I told him I wanted the manager, to which he turned and yelled to the back, "Some guy is pissed that we're out of toys!" The manager arrived, and to his credit he was cordial and accommodating. However, if he was the person responsible for the training of his two employees that I had dealt with, he is doing a lousy job. We got our toy out of the display case and left. I have filed a complaint with Wendy's Corporate regarding the food handling violations and will be contacting the health department. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. This area is full of restaurants for all budgets, you might as well go to one where they wash their hands and treat their customers with respect. As for me, never again. Edit: Spelling

Wendy's is one of those fast food places that is trying to differentiate itself from others in chicken sandwiches/burgers. Wendy's is trying to improve food appeal, and so far doing a OK job. I will say that the food is OK, and the new fries they have are actually good. The person that took my order did mess it up in the end, and they forgot my receipt. We ordered to of the new asiago chicken burgers which taste OK, but are kind of pricey. Fresh cut fries with sea salt (what they say) are decently crunchy and better than they used to be. Do like how lettuce and tomato are on most of their burgers/sandwiches. Wendy's is a OK place to eat, but it is more expensive then others for similar food. If you want a frosty then Wendy's is the place for you.
