They may be understaffed but other than that I was very happy. They filled the tacos with a lot more sweet pork than I am used to from other locations, same with the rice. Everything tasted great.

We stopped by on our way to Las Vegas. We are big fans of costa vida in Salt Lake City. As we walked in we wernt greeted even after we waited for about 3-5 mins for our order to be taken. Then when I was able to order they were out of steak. I don't know if it's just me but if I were a restaurant owner I would want my employees to have my main meat stocked at all times. Oh and then they were out of refried beans! Although we decided to wait for the steak. 3 men then came up behind us and no one was around to take there order. They literally waited for 5 Mins for someone to take there order. The workers were absolutely rude and acted like we and the guys behind us were an Inconvienance. Absolutely worst costa vida I have been too and everything there was filthy behind the counter. It's to Bad this costa vida couldn't live up To salt lake city's. Will not Be stopping again.

I'm living in Scipio, the more than tiny next town over, and coming from California I was dying for Mexican. This was my closest choice and I regret it dearly. The service was quick and the people were kind, but for the price the portions were skimpy and the flavor was bland. Grab a burger next door at Larry's.

Got food poisoning, cost me 2 days at work it was so bad. I still can't eat fresh mex of any kind and that was about a year ago.

Horrible service, at least 3 of the employees were rude when taking my order and making the food. They were slow and seemed put out to have to serve customers. The salad dressing tasted watered down compared to other costa vidas. I had to ask for one of the items I'd ordered 3 different times with 3 different employees.

The food was 'meh' (had the steak nachos) and the staff was incredibly rude. The set up is much like Qdoba / Chipotle in which you decide your meal and work your way down the line, adding toppings. I couldn't hear the one male server and he yelled at me while the female cashier sniggered. Classy. Some better trained staff would help out tremendously.

First time trying this place. Not bad at all. It reminded me to cafe Rio. The menu, the price and the set up everything similar to cafe rio. I didn't get to try the sweet pork though so not sure if the same taste to my favorite Mexican - cafe Rio.

Wonderful fresh TexMex similar to Cafe Rio. Fast service. Combined in the same building as Conoco gas and Burger King.

Didnt have chicken or steak at prime time dinner time. Employees were on their phone during this time of meat famine instead of making more. They also added extra stuff to my burrito that costed extra without asking. Get with it people. Manager was no where to be found either.

I stopped by on my way to Salt Lake City. Looked around and this looked like the best option out of fast food. This place is similar to chipotle in the way you order. But let me tell you, it taste nothing like it. I order the grilled chicken burrito and my partner order the chicken enchilada plate. The food is very salty and lacks flavor over all. The hot sauce over my burrito had zero spice! Sincerely Disappointed with a tummy ache

I gave this Costa Vida 2 stars only because it was nice to have something other than fried fast food to choose from. This location was kind of dirty. The service was slow and unfriendly. The food tasted watered down. What a shame.

Food was okay, the service here is always horrible, the tables were ALL dirty, not a single clean table. It was just an all around bad experience and usually is. I only keep coming back cause it's the only place I feel like while driving through.

First, let me say that I have at Costa Vida in Cedar city a few different times and it has always been good. I ordered the same thing I always get, chili verde burrito, and it was horrible. I literally got three pieces of meat inside of my burrito and on the outside of the smothering sauce. I agree with the other reviewer that said it said it looks like they're watering the sauce down. I was starving when I went in there, but when I got my food back to my hotel I only ate 4 bites and decided it was better to go to bed hungry than eat that horrible food. The service was terrible and the restaurant didn't look very clean.

Had heard from Celiac friends that this place has a great gluten free menu. I was not disappointed. When I mentioned gluten free the gentleman taking my order covered the flour tortillas, wash his hands, put on clean gloves and got my corn tortilla, that was cooked on a clean grill before the flour, from a sealed container. He then advised the rest of the staff it was gluten free and any one else who handled my order washed their hands and put on new gloves. The staff was friendly, the food was delish, and their understanding of celiacs was most awesome!

First of all one needs to realize that a four star review in a fast food Mexican restaurant is not comparable to a four star review and high-end steakhouse. As far as fresh Mexican food this is very good and has to be at the top of the list. The chain seems very similar to that of Café Rio or Baja fresh. This is was excellent the service was fantastic. My wife has celiac's disease and is gluten intolerant. The gentleman taking our order ask some questions and determined that we were looking for a gluten-free meal. He then promptly removed his gloves and washed his hands and arms and returned with a fresh set of gloves on. He then opened a container that was sealed and had corn tortillas in it that have been people prepared prior to cooking any flour tortillas. He took extra care to not cross contaminate with other services that may contain gluten. He also advised the rest of the staff who promptly changed their gloves to accommodate the gluten intolerance. They were very cordial about it unlike many restaurants can get kind of feisty about preparing a gluten-free meal. The reality of it is this restaurant apparently has been well trained on gluten intolerance. We had burritos and enchiladas and they were fantastic. The guacamole was good and the chips were pleasantly fresh. It's not often then I can give fast food anything four stars but I'm more than willing to give this place four stars. Certainly one has to understand that this is a gringo fast food Mexican restaurant you cannot compare this to old town Mexico in San Diego. For one they don't serve any margaritas dammit!! I feel good about giving them I Marx at nice place to stop between Salt Lake City and St. George. Besides if they did serve margaritas she would have to gather up somebody designated driver ;)

Never again!!! Only 2 employees out front at 5 pm, out of wheat tortillas , ordered sweet pork salad, asked for just a little bit of black beans, even did hand motion but he put an entire large spoonful on the rice. I told him "that is not a little" he just shrugged his shoulders & said sorry., then asked what meat. I again said sweet pork, he now says "we're out of pork". My husbands salad was already made so I just got nothing. When I paid I was asked if I needed anything else, I said that I wanted a pork salad, but you are out, she just said sorry, no one ever told me that they were making more or how long it would be to wait for the pork. The poor lady in front of me had waited on something for a while & I heard her say " how much longer? The kid went to the back & came back & said 5 minutes, she said forget it & then when she tried to pay they told her they couldn't taker her $50. She had to go to the gas station next door to get change. Totally ridiculous!!! These employees obviously have had no training in customer service!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
