Can I say I love this place! I love the variety you get, salad soup and bread options. My favorite is the 3 bean turkey chili a/ a piece of corn bread! Yummy! The best thing is you can get something and if you don't like it, you can go back and get something else. I love that it is a buffet style place. Also, the prices are not bad but with a coupon which you can get online it's pretty reasonable or dare I say cheap. Lol

I'm sad I don't live over there any longer, this place is always clean and delicious. Can't beat it with a stick! :)

Not the best visit. It started out with us being overcharged for children's drinks as adult beverages and went on to not having adequate silverware, items on the buffet were sparse in some areas. Fortunately for me, my favorite salad was fresh and plentiful.

My boyfriend and I recently started on our path to a more plant based diet and came here starving. Like punch an innocent by-stander out of hunger rage hungry and we left stuffed to the brim. The featured salads were great and you were able to add to them by adding additional ingredients down the bar. They have the usual salad bar ingredients (celery, croutons, corn...) and they also had some unusual ones too (butternut squash -- which i hated until i tried them raw on a salad). They have soups (like 6 of them), potato bar (sweet and russet), pasta bar, dessert bar and yogurt bar. Everything is nicely listed "vegetarian" or "vegan" for those that are veggie noobs like us. All in all a great place -- lots of variety and a good place to try something out. Their chocolate muffins are ridiculously great! I ate like 37 of them because i'm super classy. For $10 you can't go wrong -- potato and leek soup is great, CHOCOLATE MUFFINS!!, and the orange salad is fantastic.

Probably the best way to describe it is a buffet for people that like to eat healthy food. Everything is fresh and well made. You walk out feeling sincerely full versus feeling like crap from the garbage you would put in you at any other buffet. They have a nice salad bar, homemade soups, breads, and sugar free frozen yogurt.

Garden fresh salad and fresh breads made from scratch. A real vegetarian's delight. I'm not even a vegetarian and I love this place. Clean, friendly staff and fresh food. You always know what you're getting and to expect. The place to go if you're starving and prefer not to wait. Great alternative to fast food... Healthy too!

Ahh, soup plantation, I've missed you!! But.. here you are under a different name, but still as great as ever (I really had no idea they were one and the same until I saw one of their coupons). This place is great for a healthy & super tasty meal - of course there are some not so healthy options but, overall, more healthy stuff than not, so I'm a fan. Definitely a must try if you haven't yet.

Great buffet alternative compared to the typical buffet, I am in love with their wonton salad. But Ur gonna have to watch the meats cause they ain't got much. Just be careful not to load up on the baked potatoe, bread or pasta. Need to eat healthier This location is actually pretty clean compared to the locations, imo. The employees are very nice and helpful, good at clean up dishes. They get pretty busy here so it seems sometimes it may get backed up but cut them some slack. I think they are doing an awesome job. Good example of a sweet tomatoes with great employees, they greet you on way out and do go pay attention.

Been to this location several times. Most times it's ok. The salad bar is usually well stocked. Most all of the dressings are very unhealthy. Today the soup bar and selections were pathetic. French onion that was black, split pea that resembled wallpaper paste, the curry whatever and the clam chowder had skins on them about an inch thick. Left feeling a little sick to my stomach only to be hit up immediately by panhandlers at the door. Will never return again. (They don't deserve the single star above.)

Went here on Sunday with family. Totally sad. Salad was alright, very fatty with overwhelming dressing and stuffs thats not salad. but then they dont have chicken or tuna salad?? Confused. Soups were edible but do not live up to their name. For example french onion and chicken noodles. They need to cook fresh produce, not canned food. The desert fruits was not fresh. They did not refill the fruits enough for that many people on a Sunday morning I guess. the sweet deserts are plenty, but somehow I thought this place didn't support diabetes and fatty food, im so wrong.

Usually like this place, but the tex-mex items they are serving now are not a big hit. Might try back next month.

Sweet Tomatoes is the best! Lots of choices, fresh breads and yummy desserts. You really don't even miss not having meat. Give it a try, you will love it.

I ate here for dinner Saturday night with friemd who is vegetarian. I suppose if I did not eat meat I woulld have given this 5 stars....but I do. Anyway, the salad was very, very good, fresh with wonderful blue cheese dressing, Not much to say about the soup, but good pizza. All in all, not bad - if you don't eat meat!

I live every other week in Houston and eat 9 meals out, most in the Willowbrook Mall area. I've eaten at every restaurant in the area and until I found this place, there was not a glimmer of hope I could eat something healthy. The plates are cold, the salads are always fresh, the ingredients are cold, the place is clean and the staff is very friendly. I stick to the salads and a bowl of very good chili. Try to keep in mind that it's only 10 bucks, and it's not pretending to be some snooty over priced restaurant. You can blow $10 at McDonald's if you want and consume a few thousand calories, or eat here selecting the more healthy ingredients. Your choice!

I thought that sweet tomatoes was a great deal. You pay $10 for an adult and you get all you can eat access to the salad bar, soup and pasta station, as well as desserts. I loved the wonton Asian salad in the salad bar, a MUST try :) Besides that none of the food really stood out to me, the gingerbread muffin I tried was under baked and the rest of the food was nothing above par. But then again who am I to complain, you pay just $10 and can stuff your face until your stomach is about to burst. Overall, I will probably give sweet tomatoes another visit in the future.

I checked this place out because I was given a gift card for it. The food was extremely bland (I took it to-go and seasoned it when I got home) and the salad was soggy. I definitely don't recommend it and can't see myself returning. I would say go to Salata or Panera Bread for much better food.

  • Melinda B.

From the door, you can see this location takes pride in cleanliness. The salad bar has a large selection of greens and you also have the option to build your own salad. There are 8 soups to choose from, I had the broccoli chowder soup. I wish there were bigger broc. pieces, but the soup still tasted good. Cant remember all of the bread choices, but my favorite was the cornbread. Just the right mix of corn and not too sweet. For desert, I had a brownie w/ soft serve vanilla ice cream.

Some people have an old soul but I think I must have an old stomach. I enjoy frequenting places such as Luby's and Sweet Tomatoes among the sea of Golden Girls. You can't go wrong with their wide selection of veggies and salad toppings, fresh bread and homemade soups. Be sure to Google or use the RetailMeNot app for coupons and specials!

A salad buffet? Now who would want to go to that?! Me of course! Haha my mom and I used to come here every Sunday for lunch. Normally you wouldn't think to go to a salad buffet, but man, Sweet Tomatoes is different. Everything is fresh, soups are rotated every week, vegetarian pastas are made fresh, pizzas are great finger foods, desserts, and the bakery items are fantastic! Also, freshly made strawberry lemonade with strawberries in them!! There's a huge selection of toppings, 3 already-made salads of the week, a selection of dressings, and fresh vegetables. Everything of course is self serve. Service is quick though, hence the VERY clean restaurant. For a salad buffet, they sure know how to keep the place clean. Dishes are picked up right away. If they see a pile, they'll pick it up. Staff is very helpful and friendly. There's lots of opportunities to get coupons. Be sure to sign up for the veggie club! You'll get them through your email. They'll even the coupon in your email. Don't forget to check your local Sunday newspaper for more coupons as well!! Always try to seek out coupons for this place as it seems like they raised up their prices.

I have been a customer here for the past few years, and not much has changed. The lettuces and vegetables in the main salad bar area are fresh and delicious. At the very front, they serve chopped salads but that has been very hit or miss depending on how recently it was tossed. The various other composed salads such as potato and pasta salads are adequate and well stocked. (5 stars) The soup bar is good, but some of the soups may need to be modified to your personal taste. That is the price you pay eating at a buffet is appeal to a wide variety of people. There is a good variety of soups so that you can seek out your favorite ones. The bread bar is fantastic with a good variety of different textures. While I did not eat at the baked potato bar, it seemed to be well stocked. (4 stars) Finally, the pizza and pasta bar is a waste of space based upon the quality and taste of the food. the pizza looked unappetizing it was not very good (2 stars), but it is the pasta bar over multiple occasions that continues to disappoint me. The cook certainly does not taste the food or they would realize that the pasta is usually mush. Since they are reheating it and cooking the pasta further in a pan, they need to use slightly undercooked pasta to start the process. The past 10 visits, I have not had edible pasta in not a single instance. Maybe I should stop trying. (0 stars) With all of that said, I still believe that it is a good option if you feel up to having a salad. There is a variety of soups, bread and fresh salads and vegetables to make a full meal. Some of the soups contain meat, so you don't have to be totally vegetarian here.

I really like this place; it's fresh and full of great salad and soup choices. Although there's not many protein items you can make it up with the chopped egg toppings and soups that have turkey or meat in them. The staff here is very friendly and serving. I definitely recommend any potential newcomer to experience it. Oh and they always honor coupons!! There are loads of bread choices, usually 5-6 soup selections and pre-made salads as well as fixing your own. Great spot

Sweet Tomatoes is one of my favorite buffets in Houston. It's practically the only buffet that allows you to eat until it hurts and not feel too guilty afterwards! And for first timers, they don't just serve veggies - they have soups, pastas, and baked goods too! The salad bar is always impressive and fresh. It's a huge colorful array of earth grown goodness that can suit just about anyone's preference. Just to name a few of the basics: lettuce, spinach, corn, beans, bell peppers, beets, carrots, black olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, and much more. Some of my other favorite pre-made items include tuna tarragon, ceaser salad, and Joan's broccoli madness (funny name but delicious!). Note that you are welcome back to the salad bar after paying too. As for soups and baked goods, the variety continues. They usually have about six different types of soups ready at once. Usually it's something along the lines of chicken noodle soup, chili, tomato bisque, vegetable soup, French onion, and (rarely now) clam chowder. I usually like to eat a tomato based soup with pizza or cheese sticks. They offer pasta such as mac-n-cheese and spaghetti, but I was never a big fan of those items. For dessert, get the blueberry muffins and ice cream!!! They don't serve Dreyers ice cream anymore, but it'll do. TIPS: -Always check for coupons online before you go. They ALWAYS have coupons. -Sign-up for club veg. They offer better coupons than the ones that you find by Googling. -Sometimes it's cheaper to pay regular price and order water than to use a coupon that requires purchase of a drink.

Terrible service and terrible food Came here for lunch for some good soup and salad and what a disappointment Everything was bland with no flavor. I tried soups, salads, pasta, breads, pizza you name it and it was all disgusting. We wanted the apple cobbler they usually have and they don't serve it anymore that was the best thing they had going. Guy who works the pizza is over his job as well as the chick who runs the pasta station. I will never come back, hello Salata.

    1. Service - Drinks and Food are all self served. They have busboys walking around to clean the tables or to take your plates away when you're finish. They deserve a tip or two as the people are all pretty friendly. The least interaction you'll get is the greeting from the cashier as you pay for your meal after you have grabbed your plate of salad. 2. Price - It's gone up a bit. I think it's roughly about $10 a person now. 3. Ambiance - It's a buffet restaurant. Dress code is casual. Cold A/C, don't wear shorts or a tank in there. You'll freeze. The salad table is always clean. I can't complain. 4. Food - Good, the salads are fresh, and besides salads, they also serve 3 types of pasta, a wide selection of soups, two types of breads (Garlic or some sort of cheese bread), and they also provide a variety of desserts. Your selection varies from month to month, so don't expect the same thing. Salads are the same, but you build your own plate. All you can eat. If you're a meat lover, consider this a light meal. They have meat here and there, but it's not a lot of choices. You're here for salads! I'm typically not a buffet person, but this is one of the few buffet places I go to. If you've never been, and looking for a light meal, try them out. I guarantee you'll like it. 5. Cleanliness - Clean including restrooms.

What happens when you neglect eating vegetables for three weeks? Hit up the salad buffet! I love vegetables and realized I been eating mostly tofu and rice the past few weeks. Never fear, Sweet Tomatoes will hit the spot! We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy! My first plate was a salad I made myself. My second plate I piled on the Chinese wonton salad pretossed salad. I think they restock the ingredients and fixing fast. I do wish they had more fat free dressing though aside from fat free ranch. The folks were nice and they bused the tables fast. I wish they had napkin dispensers at every table. It is a pain to walk to the fountain soda/water station for napkins. I would like to point out that the white bean and kale soup was delicious. All the soups were piping hot and pastas were plentiful. Around $10 per person with lots of options. My hubby did not really enjoy it as I did due to not much meat to put in his salad.

Came here for the first time and it was great. Salads super fresh, soup hot but not to much favor on a couple (2 out of 8 ain't bad), the bread and pasta station add a good touch. When I'm at a buffet like these, I tend try to be creative with the opt I'm working with. Like (Danny L) combined tomatoes soup base with a nice cheesy bread, adding bacon on the pizza slice or to the mac n cheese!! It's @$10 with a water so don't expect much from this price n with all you can eat (it's @$3 more then cici pizza!) If you want a more luxurious and high end buffet for $10....find out and let me know so I can try it haha

Everything is always good here. I go here to make myself think I am eating healthy, but I usually do anything but that, LOL. The soups are really good as well as the muffins & breads which unfortunately are my weakness, so I must steer clear of anyplace where I can enjoy them abundantly. The salad bar is always fresh & plentiful. For the price & the variety it is a good deal & there is always a cupon in the Sunday paper. I do wish they had more low calorie dressing choices here.

This place is okay there isn't a huge variety compared to other buffets and the price is kind of high for the quality. I prefer Jason Deli ' s salad bar. At least my daughter was free that was a plus

I went here for lunch for the second time today. It was around 1:00 pm this time and this place was PACKED .... WHY?!?? All the empty tables still had plates on them. The whole restaurant was disgusting. The food isn't even good. Almost everything is bland. I gave this spot one to many chances.

This is one of my more favorites places to eat in Houston. I average eating here once a month. If you are not into self serve buffets then you probably will not like this chain. Personally I like it. The food is consistently good with a wide selection of 8 soups, large salad bar, 3 pasta dishes and a bakery. Ice cream too. It is also very affordable.

Grab two large chilled plates at the very beginning of the line. its the only place they have them. its good, for the concept. i miss Souper Salad but, this place definitely has a place in my heart. i love when they do the greek weeks every now and again. lemon orzo soup!? GET SOME!

Yah! A nice clean and healthy place to eat near Willowbrook!!! I am very happy with this restaurant. It is your basic soup and salad place with a basic pasta and fruit bar. They also have a bread selection from garlic to sweet fruit breads and frozen yogurt. They DON'T offer alcohol, but when you are eating healthy do you really need alcohol? The food is fresh and staff are always making sure to have full containers of salad and soup on a regular basis. They also make their own mixed salad for those that don't feel like putting together a salad...their selections are really good as well. Their soup selections are awesome!!! Note: If you have a food allergy, just ask the soup chef and they will show you the ingredients of each soup so you can eat without any fear.

First time coming to this place... Didn't really know what to expect... Well I was very impressed by the selection and quality of the food... Enjoyed the service... Awesome!!!! Awesome!!! Awesome!!!! Especially Lakitha... She was a pleasure to have serve us... Great selection of soups, pasta and salads pastries... Has your normal soda machine but also 5 different juices for those healthy eaters... Staff is constantly picking up trays and plates from tables ... Very satisfied when I was done eating.. I was full but not miserable full.. I guess it was because of the natural fresh ingredients they use... You definitely have to try this place..

Are you a buffet person? do you like awesome, yummy, made from scratch, salads, soups and the occasional pasta? This place is for you. If you are looking for unique entrees, 3 course meals, presentation : look somewhere else! Look, this is a buffet. All you can eat for usually under $10 per person. Fresh salads, lots of leafy green veggies, tomatoes, and other such add ons. It also includes their soups and breads. It is all made from scratch -- no, these soups are NOT poured out of a can -- they are cooked in the back. Yes, it IS a chain, but the recipe's are spot on. The menu changes usually each month: different soups and pasta's and salads. The main salad bar is just that; a salad bar. Kind of hard to screw up chopped lettuce, pickles, olives, etc. That is just normal stuff. What makes this place unique is the soups and the signature salads. Sometimes, you just want to eat here every day -- the salad and the soup is just perfect. Sometimes, not so much. Lets face it: salad gets boring! What I like is that they change up their usual 9 soups each month -- with something new. Typically, its regional themed: like Italian soups, etc. When I wrote this review, it was Spanish themed... so there was an Albondigas soup -- tiny meatball soup that was an awesome soup I RARELY see in Houston. But in Sweet Tomatoes? no way! but it was spot on -- spicy, with lots of veggies and little tiny meatballs. Wow! There is of course, dessert: and it IS all you can eat, so expect lots of families with kids. Overall, really, its quality buffet food if you don't want to cook and want salad, soup and some pasta :) Solid 4 stars. Good value, quality ingredients and all you can eat :)

So many great choices. A good, fast, cheap alternative to fast food or other buffets. Good for children and adults. I love the soup and salad part! Good tea and lemonaid choices as well. Check this place out. $12 for drink and bufett

This is by far the worst one in Houston the people at the bread bar are very rude and the food looks as if it is just thrown up there with no regard to the customers. When you ask if they are making more of something they give you an I don't care look and say I am working on it then go back to chat with friends

    (1)
  • Austin R.

Everything was fresh and well stocked even an hour before closing time. Staff was nice and friendly, the only downside is that it's typical buffet fair off the salad bar and they don't serve the normal ham turkey cubes that regular salad bars offer. Corn and Bacon chowder was bland, brownies and pineapple upside down cake was dry and the tapioca and chocolate moose was like something that you would be served in a hospital. Finally, the entire time I was here no one bussed the dirty dishes from our table. All in all it was okay just not something I will be craving in the future.

I was very disappointed in Sweet Tomatoes. I much prefer their competitor, Souper Salad, but those are hard to find in the Houston area. Sweet Tomatoes did not offer any meat for the salads, so they lose two points right there. All of their soups with the exception of one were not flavorless or too heavy on the spice that was creating the flavor. Their pizza had a soggy bottom. As we tried numerous things to see how they were, our plates built up and up and up as no one came by to pick them up. I was very disappointed.

Tried the one on Katy Freeway and I liked it, this particular location is pretty much close to home and was the one that I have been passing for years and years since I was not a vegetable fan until recently. I was not a yelper back then and did not have the inclination to try something that I thought was a restaurant with nothing but lots of ways to cook tomatoes. Boy was I very wrong. I came in, got my food, sat down and ate. The entrance door just like the Katy location is a little bit tricky as well. While eating my meal I also saw about 6 pairs of people wandering around like zombies trying to get in aimlessly until they finally found it like I did, not big deal though, we all found it. Food seemed a tad better than I-10's cousin for some reason but could not put my finger on it on why except very notablely they hadthis apple cinnamon bread that looked hard like a cookie but boy was that thing real soft and tasty on the inside and had that just right "crust" if you will on the outside. The butternut squash soup that was there tasted the best out of the 6 others that were there, I'm not a butternut squash fan but that soup changed me on that. The chili soup was ok as well. Green Tea with some other kind of flavoring, like syrup, why do places like to over sweeten their tea? I notice this in many many places but maybe it's just my taste buds? Go around the corner of the drink bar, mix it in with the non sweetened blueberry something something tea and your drink will taste a lot better as well as the drink invention I made here, it's called the "Anti syrup around the corner blueberry finally right" tea. Staff: A little stoic, not as friendly as the I-10 location but I'm sure if I returned the next day things would probably be different, they don't hire Whole Food's caliber employees here but they weren't rude either. Definitely worth a return especially this location since it's so close to home. You can find this location almost attached to the Willowbrook Mall parking lot and right next door to a McDonald's. Happy Tomatoing.

I feel like a Sweet Tomatoes veteran. I've been eating here since it opened way back when, and I've always loved it. The prices have gradually gone up over the years, and quality has gone down a bit. But! I still think the buffet is a good deal, and it's SO much better than Souper Salad...blegh Fav things: -blueberry muffins (I still remember the days when these were the size of my face) -chicken noodle soup -asiago bread/pizza idk what it's called -the whole salad bar! always fresh If you sign up for their mailing list, you'll receive weekly coupons! I always use them.

My wife and I had dinner here last night...this was the last time we will go here...several years ago this location was very good...it went under new management and has gone downhill...soup flavors and quality is really bad...the place used to have a high quality taste with a reasonable price, now, has it the bottom...guess we have to find another salad/soup restaurant

  • Tammy C.

I have been here twice and I really enjoyed the wonton salad, strawberry lemonade and baked Potato. My sister really loves the chili and blueberry muffin. I'll keep trying other dishes and see which ones become my favorites. For the price not bad for a good lunch.

Just a good place to grab some healthy lunch with a great salad bar and a nice selection of soups. Just tried their brunch for the first time... it was pretty decent - eggs, oatmeal, cereal, biscuits and gravy - the usual. The quality is always consistent and you can bet on leaving stuffed! Sign up for coupons on their website... they are ALWAYS running specials.

I usually hate buffets but I just do not mind when my friend drags me here. I usually go straight to the soups and call it a day but I got distracted by the honey butter and ended up making a detour to the bread station.

This place is borderline disgusting. I don't give negative reviews very often because it is against my nature, but this was not great. I've eaten at the Sweet Tomatoes on Katy Freeway a couple times and while it was nothing to write home about, it wasn't this bad. And on no level did I feel like that was "healthy" food I ate. It's a cramped version of Souper Salad, but with less enticing soups and fruit. My issue with the salad bar lies in the dressings (poorly organized and labeled and don't taste all that great) and the awful chicken (fatty awful "meat"). I'm not terribly picky, but the chicken esp was just awful (and ooh, another $2.50 to use once). As far as the additional stuff, I think it should be that, additional. Soups? Meh. I wouldn't say they were great but there were not healthy options and that in itself stinks. Potato bar was pretty sad with overcooked potatoes that had evolved into shrunken dry balls. The breads are a hit, esp the pizza one, and the pastas seemed pleasing. I saw some fruit like oranges, but not a selection that would make anyone feel healthy or pleased. I knew what I was getting into here, but a salad bar isn't terribly hard and it's still a miss here. I would not recommend this to anyone if they can help it. It's cramped, you'll be sitting with your dirty dishes for awhile and I know I didn't feel satisfied by the experience

Don't go into Sweet Tomatoes thinking you're only going to get a salad b/c once you get past the huge salad bar, then there's the soup bar, pastas, macaroni and cheese, ice cream, rolls and garlic breads, fruit, etc! It's basically a fattening buffet hiding behind the healthy name "Sweet Tomatoes." Don't be fooled! It's still good food but everything else they offer besides salad will definitely tempt you!

    (4)
  • Monica L.

Enjoy this place very much, and yes it's not all that healthy but you can be if you know what to eat, i like most of their salads but I am crazy over the broccoli they have with peanuts and some kind of sauce it's delicious! Now their soups are OK there is a mexican one they have (not tortila soup) and It's do die for, it reminds me of my Grandmother's soup! Their fruits are fresh, buffet is clean, and the service is great too, and to top it off a small-coned ice cream makes the experience well worth it ...(hella better than souper salad... YUK!)

Great healthy choices in a family atomesphere... I always love eating here. I do not live in Houston any longer, but it is great to pass through and stop with the family to have a great salad and sides. Sweet Tomatoes allows everyone a chance to get something that they may like, love, or want. The salads are always fresh, the fruit always good, the soups always tasty, and the ice cream always cold. The pizza & pasta bar always have great choices for simple favorites. As a note, I have to say that they have the best Strawberry Lemonade I have had in a restaurant. It is located by the cashier, and always getting refills at my table. Give it a try! Sweet tomatoes is heavenly bliss to fulfill your hunger when you need it.

I eat here easily 2 or 3 times per month on average! Salads, baked & sweet potatoes, pastas, soups, breads, fruits & desserts galore. It's so easy to be gluttonous at this place. Salad bar is so yummy including the pre-made varieties. The Wonton Chicken Happiness is my constant fav. The rotating flavors each month are good too. I don't indulge in the pastas too much, they don't taste all that great to me. The soups are good and always a nice variety, usually about 7 different ones. The only other thing I wish they'd change is putting foil back over the potatoes, they get cold quicker in the setup they have now. Otherwise good food, nice managers and plenty of workers to clear plates off the table.

I went from really liking this place to "you know, it's all right, but I have to be in the mood for it." I mean, there's only so many times I want to eat "healthy...ish" salad bar food. If you go here, go with an appetite since it's all you can eat. Otherwise, your $10 might go to waste. At least, that's my precept. For those salad fanatics, they certainly have a multitude of things to add to your plate of lettuce. They usually have a couple of "featured" salads, aka, pre-made. Although, last time I came here, they didn't have them. They did have an interesting little potato dill salad made with fresh dill and fat free yogurt. It was dece! The soups I've had are ok. In terms of tasty carbs, I REALLY like that "cheesy" bread which is pretty much just pizza. Watch out for it to come fresh from the oven. The vultures ate half of it before I got up from my seat to get some. :( There are usually some tasty little muffins. Maybe cranberry orange, blueberry, strawberry...it might change from month-to month. Also, they have dreyer's frozen yogurt: chocolate, vanilla and mixed. There are chopped peanuts and crumbled cookies and sprinkles to top it with. Aaaaaaand, these chocolate brownie-type things that seem to look fresh and steamy, but aren't quite as warm as they appear. Don't forget to display the little card at your table that says "I'll be right back" if you get up for more food. Also, you can sign-up for their email list to get "buy one meal and two drinks, get one meal free" coupons, but beware, they will bombard your email every month. Good or bad, depending on how you look at it. Oh and if you use the coupon, it amounts to around $15, in case you're wondering.

I go to sweet tomatoes all the time and I never get tired of it! Although, if you're a meat person, I wouldn't really recommend this place because they have no meat here. If you're a salad and soup person then this is the place for you! Everything in here tastes fresh and ready. During lunch hours it gets really full here so I recommend you to go a few minutes before lunch to get good seats. All I have left to say is that overall this is a great restaurant!

Ugh! I can't believe I enjoyed eating here so much in college! It's just not good at all & overpriced imo! I made a salad with all the fixings, tried the muffing & pizza. None of it was good! Just gross! Do not go here to eat! Biggest waste of money ever & I swear what I ate made my stomach hurt. I wish I could give this place zero stars :(

I can honestly say I hate tomatoes...(well besides pizza sauce and ketchup), but I love Sweet Tomatoes! Move over, let me get my fill! I used to like Souper Salad more due to the fact that I loved their breadsticks...but other than that they're selection kinda sucked. I would rather pay a little more to eat a little more. I love their Wonton Chicken Happiness salad.. I can do without the green onions in it though! Tuna tarragon...mmmm... nice and tart..but be warned...very fattening. (500 calories for 1 cup!!!) So don't think b/c it's a salad buffet place that these babies don't add some inches to your waistline! ;) Hard to believe I've never had American chicken noodle soup until I came here. I guess I was drawn to the big noodles. Tasted like flat udon noodles which I love. Made me feel warm inside... They have varieties of soups, pastas, and breads. I would pass on those pastas though... muffins are good (I like eating just the muffin tops with all the sugar crystals), and I enjoy the quatro formaggio focaccia bread. I wish they had better selection of dessert though. :( Price for lunch is $8.39 and $9.39 for dinner. Always look for coupons online if you plan on dining with a friend. You'd pay a little over $15 for two buffets and two drinks! Such an awesome deal!!! So don't be shy, save some money! Drink some strawberry lemonade...it's good...

Went for breakfast this morning - even took one of their buy one get one free coupons. it was still 16.00+ for just two people, and the breakfast was something like what you get at a hotel - rubbery scrambled eggs, migas, cereal, milk, not very interesting French toast and waffles. they didn't have one iota of meat - no bacon, no sausage, NOTHING. it was terrible. I think the place is overpriced for dinner, breakfast is a total JOKE. It was embarrassing to take a guest there. You guys make jack in the box look like gourmet dining.

This is one of my favorite places! The food is always fresh, the correct temperature and overflowing with goodness! It's not your typical salad bar, as there are always four pre-made salads to choose from, at least 4-6 soups, several different pastas, and breads galore! I heart their sourdough bread with the honey butter... I think I could make a meal off of that alone! The Won Ton Chicken Happiness is the best pre-made salad... EVER! Absolute deliciousness! There are choices for everyone here, whether you're on a hard-core diet, or you just want to get your grub on!

i don't think i've ever been disappointed coming to this sweet tomatoes. the soup is always well seasoned, the "pizzas" are usually cooked with the right crispness to them, and the salads are always fresh. there isn't much more that you can ask out of a salad bar. the only hang-up i have is as to why they are so expensive? i guess that's the price you have to pay for them to keep up with the maintenance of the place which i guess is fine. not to mention don't feel bad eating the ice cream when they have little cones to put it in. so eating 5 of them isn't as bad as eating one big one? :-P

I love a good salad bar. This, is a great salad bar. I love a great salad bar with great food to accompany you while you eat your great salad bar. This has it. I must admit, I have only been here for lunch once. It was good, almost great, the wow factor wasn't as high as... Sunday Brunch! Sign up on their website so that you can receive their BOGO coupons for brunch. Brunch is where its at. Not only do you get a great salad bar which has more veggies on it that I have names for, you get cereals, breakfast pastas (which are the bomb digity), breakfast pizza, all their breads that trump souper salad, breakfast tacos, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, waffles, french toast, apple juice, orange juice, milk... and... drum roll please the BEST biscuits and gravy I have ever had. There. Done. Its not just gravy, its not just sausage gravy, its sausage bacon gravy. WIN! And when you have eaten your giant plate of salad, heaps of biscuits and gravy, breads, pastas and eggs on breads, its time to hit them where it hurts. They charge extra for their delish cookies, so you have to head over to the ice cream bar. Ice cream toppings consist of these amazing cookies all broken up. If you poke through that rubble you can find some big ol hunks of cookie! Take all your hunks and crumbs, dump out your drink and fill up your glass from the cereal milk dispenser and top off your belly. You are welcome.

This is to me a more upscale version of souper salad. You come in and you are in the buffet line to get your salad. After you pay, you can then proceed to a table and there's more food inside, such as pasta, pizza, soup, etc. To me, the food is nothing special. Just a salad with all the extras that you want. What I don't get is, why would people pay so much money for a salad buffet???? Also, if you wanted to add chicken to your salad, you have to pay extra for that. I thought a buffet is inclusive? Next time, why not just proceed to get chicken from the soup and/or pasta to prevent from paying the extra money for chicken on your salad? (JUST KIDDING that's all time cheapness hahah). I only really go to this restaurant when my co workers drag me out to lunch and when they are on a health kick so they want to eat salad only.

Sweet Tomatoes has a lot of unusual salad ingredients, or more unusual than souper salads and salad express. Fresh beets, banana peppers, squashes and diced (not quartered) tomatoes are some of the fresh ingredients that I like here. They also have a larger assortment of greens --mixed greens, spinach , romaine and iceberg as well as cabbage. They have many choices of soup--8? and are very high quality. They have cheesy bread, cheese pizza and several kinds of fresh bread and real butter. Baked and sweet potatoes, ready made or made to order pasta, dreyer's ice cream, premade tossed salads and fresh cantaloupe, watermelon and honeydew. don't eat the plastic grapes!=) They have cardboardy brownies that are hard and old, even when brought out fresh. I guess they are healthy brownies? You certainly wouldnt be tempted to overeat them... Drinks are self service and no tip is expected at all. adults are 8.15--not too expenive when compared to the amount of produce I can eat=) They have a Sunday breakfast buffet for all you heathens who can be there between 9-12 on Sunday mornings=) with scrambled eggs, waffles, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal, potatoes o'brien, freshly baked cinnamon chip biscuits, muffins, and make-your-own breakfast burritos.

Green does not stand for money, greed, envy, healing or any of that other mumble jumble. GREEN is what you get lots of at Sweet Tomatoes! Cabbage, lettuce, romaine, spinach, cucumbers, squash, basil, bell pepper, chives, broccoli. You name it and they've got it. Along with all the other yummy non green items such as radishes, mushrooms, olives, cheese, eggs, croutons, onions, pasta salads (Tuna Taragon-yum!), potato salads, different types of chicken and what I consider the mecca of salad dressings. And that's just the salad part. Once you pay and get seated you're free to explore the soups, breads, and pasta. I tried the cream of mushroom, broccoli cheese, mac & cheese, cilantro lime pesto, and the bruschetta focaccia. Everything was good. You get about 6 different choices for soup, in addition to bruschetta they had pizza, cheese bread, and you can mix and match your own pasta with 4 different types of sauce. For my drink I got pomegranate green tea and it smelled and taste delicious. I love that they had about 8 different jars of really good tea for you to choose and brew yourself. I never thought I could get so full at a soup and salad place but Sweet Tomatoes proved me wrong. They have some salads and pasta pre-prepared but I think the best thing is making your own. If you know exactly what you like and how things taste together this would be the perfect place for you. It's more than what you think a salad, soup, or pasta dish may cost but then again, you are getting MORE, so I'm not complaining at all. Plus it healthy for you so it's totally worth it.

by all means, I do not come here to "eat healthy." I come hear to eat and I leave so stuffed, I would've been better off with some fast food ha. I've been going here regularly for years with my mom. Some of my favorite things are: Chicken Wonton Happiness Chicken Tetrazzini pasta Beef Stroganoff pasta Chicken noodle soup 5 Grain bread with honey whipped butter macaroni saladddddd and I really like the limited time grilled cheese foccacia with the tomato soup. when they don't have the two pastas I like, I like to make a gourmet mac and cheese by adding real cheese, bacon, chives, and some tabasco. ho yeah. If you haven't noticed from the reviews, but the prices seems to be going up twice a year, maybe pretty soon, it will be over $10.00. If you're in the mood for just salad opt for taking it to-go, fill the container until it bulges for only $6.ish. WHAT I DON'T LIKE: I despise how people wait in line for the soups. Shouldn't there be 8 separate lines? Why should I have to wait behind 5 people for a soup they're not getting.? They need to make some signs for proper soup line etiquette.

Great for vegans and vegetarians. Plus has one of the best New England clam chowders you can find in this part of Houston. They normally have fresh fruit and some healthier deserts. Just do not go their for breakfast, cardboard tastes better then their pancakes.

Sweet tomatoes is really good if you feel like you need to eat something healthy. I love going with my girlfriend because she loves it too. It's nothing like soupersalad. It's like 10 times better from what I hear.

This was a one time visit for me. If it was unlimited salad bar I would come back. Sometimes I don't get my salad right the first time and I need a second chance. That was the case here. Anyhow once you get your salad they do have some all you can eat items. They are decent but I don't have a craving to come back here ever again. It might have to do with the atmosphere. Its kind of a cafeteria feel.

We always end up going here when it's SUPER packed, but that still does not deteriorate the quality of the food! Fresh, delicious, and healthy, the salad bar offers a good mixture of ready-made salads (my favorites is the one with the spinach and the little mandarin oranges slices) and DIY types. They offer some not-so-common salad pieces such as banana squash, all sorts of nuts and beans, the best fried Chinese noodle topping I've ever had, plus all your regular salad components. If you're watching your protein intake, you can buy a "deck-of-cards" sized grilled chicken to go with your salad. As if that was not enough, they have so many fresh soup choices that would put Souper Salad to shame. They are also much cleaner and friendlier, too. You can also get freshly made pasta (they have one with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes with a little bit of marinara sauce--an excellent non-creamy pasta choice) and fresh breads from the bakery. My favorite are the chocolate and PB muffins...I usually get those and top it off with some frozen yogurt. All this at ~$8/pop? Not too shabby. My only complaint? Like I said, the place gets a little bit crazy on the weekends...it's overrun with families, toddlers, and screaming babies (watch your step...don't want to run over some of those little ones) so it's not exactly a stress-free eating experience. Also, even though it's super healthy...I tend to overeat because it tastes so good. =X Hopefully you won't have that same trouble as me!

The Sweet Tomatoes features a healthy-ish buffet (the buffet does make it easy to overeat, and not all of the items are 'wise' food choices for the dieter). The location is often mostly clean, and the waiters do a good job of clearing tables off. Don't be surprised on a busy day, though, if there aren't any tables available and you end up holding your food and pacing for someone to leave (it's happened once). The price is a little high, in my opinion, for the quality of food, but not exuberantly so.

Unless you enjoy being insulted by the staff I would recommend to stay away from this establishment. The reason for Milady's discomfort is that I keep on indicating that their coffee mugs are usually dirty. I guess I must have said it once too many times as she felt she could tell me to go f*&^ myself. Will not go back.
