    Ordered Caesar salad and pizza for delivery. Cesar salad was OK but the pizza was great. It was kind of greasy but you can dab it with a napkin. Loved the red sauce they used but would love it if they added more. Mozzarella cheese is delicious and tasted fresh. Just had a pepperoni pizza this time but can't wait to try others.

    Today, 12/6/13, was the first holiday luncheon for my office and I was in charge. My boss loves Star Pizza so Star Pizza it was and it was an excellent choice! The person I initially talked to was very friendly and then they called the next day and confirmed the order and the delivery time. The delivery guy was super nice and the pizzas, salad, and yummy bread were PERFECT! Everyone LOVED the pizza and salad! Thank you, Star staff! Well done!

    My first and favorite salsa verde pizza! So good and spicy. Excellent crust with a whole wheat option. Good salads as well! Overall solid option for pizza. I have not dined in at this restaurant so I cannot comment but they have been very good with delivery even to Little Woodrow's in the heights.

    Pizza and beer go together like PB&J in my book. So when your pizza arrives and you and your boyfriend have had empty beers for at least 5-10 minutes, I'm not a happy camper. Our waiter had way too many tables last night and had a hard time keeping up, and that's not too impressive on Wednesday night. That being said, our deep dish Starburst was delicious as always. The original Star Pizza has been my go to for pizza in Houston for years, but now that I live right down the street from #2, I figured we had to give it a shot. Everything tasted great, they just might consider having more than one waiter per room (room as in this is an old house much like the original location). Because I love pizza and beer, I'll definitely be back, just hope the service can step it up a notch.

    Star Pizza II is definitely a S*T*A*R! I've been to the original Star Pizza many many times throughout my life. My sister was even a server at the original Star Pizza about 10 years ago. I'm so glad that we didn't head to the original on this evening and went to the newer Washington location! I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice large parking lot, something the other location is missing. I was glad to find this building isn't an old creaky house. I know.. the other place has charm and nostalgia for those of us native Houstonians, but I like this newer more open less haunted house type location as well. We passed the obligatory Ms. PacMan machine on the way to our seats. My husband ordered the thin crust white Marilyn's, his standard Star Pizza fare. I had the rosemary chicken sandwich with roasted potatoes. I don't like pizza; don't hold it against my review. I'm a good wife that is willing to indulge her husband's lactose needs. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and quicker than I expected. My rosemary chicken sandwich was awesome. You can add anything on it you want and I got cheese, onions, and some Alfredo sauce. The roasted potatoes are absolutely delicious. To top it off, the service was attentive and prompt. We even chatted with our server about the totally strange ferret looking cage in the corner of the restaurant. I thought that there couldn't possibly be anything living in it, this was a restaurant that serves food just a few feet away from the cage. She explained that it had stuffed animals in it. I guess this is this location's attempt at quirky and interesting? Well, in the future, if I want Star Pizza, I'll probably head to this location. I like the layout and the parking better. The pizza is the same (I eat the crust, it's the best part) as the other location.

    What can I say about Star Pizza that isn't great. Whenever I want amazing pizza, I get in my car and drive 25 miles to Star. They have 2 locations but I must say you can't tell the difference! Star has great beers, especially local brews, like No Label and Shiner. Pizzas are made any way you want it, white crust or wheat, white sauce or red or choose one of their amazing pizzas, like the Salsa Verde. Also their Baked Goat Cheese is to die for! Like I said I can't say anything bad about Star. If you truly want the best Pizza in Houston, look no further than Star Pizza!

    This did the trick, went with the chicken alfredo deep dish and was very happy overall. Very reasonably priced and good service to boot, excellent garlic bread appetizer. Stopped in on a lark because I'm from out of town and was pretty pleased overall.

    I cannot believe some of the reviews regarding this place. I ordered a NY style cheese pizza. Take it from me, don't order it unless you like buffett pizza. The only thing NY style about this pizza is maybe the tray holding it is from NY. Their Chicago style deep dish pizza is a NY style pizza with its crust folded up onto the sides of the deep dish pan. Their pasta salad is not bad.

    I have done a 180 in Star Pizza. When I first had Star, it was a veggie pizza marred by huge chunks of almost-raw broccoli and cauliflower underpinned by a very heavy whole wheat crust. Based on that experience, I've been avoiding Star for years and instead suffering through Pink's soggy crusts and roller coaster inconsistency. After a particularly horrendous $50 Pink's order, we decided to give Star another try, and it was fantastic! We got the Hanks and the Margarita on white crust--both arrived steaming and crispy, with good toppings and tons of flavor. We've ordered three times now, and the service and consistency has been great. My only negatives are (1) the garlic bread in inedible and (2) the lack of online ordering. Delivery can take time when they're busy, but they give you a realistic estimate, and your pizza still shows up hot. Look, is this the best pizza in Houston? No way! But it is infinitely better than the other delivery options I've tried in my area.

    Recommended to me by several people I had relatively high expectations coming into lunch when I visited. Table was dirty, sat is in the very back corner on a not-so-crowded day, while being waited on by a waitress that was working off what appeared to be a steep hangover. While I like eating food in clean, well run establishments, tremendous food trumps all. Unfortunately that was not the case. Ordered a Chicken Alfredo deep dish pizza and a few side salads. Side salads were fine but the pizza.... when I order a deep dish pizza, I want a deep dish pizza. This is the age of the internet and cheap two way plain tickets. If you don't know what deep dish pizza is, google or southwest yourself to Chicago and learn. The pizza itself was pretty decent, but lacked the overall depth and crust characteristics of a good Chi-style pizza. Perhaps Star #1 is that much better? Perhaps but I venture to guess I'll never find out.

    I have mixed feelings about Star. They are consistent, although I feel like their cheese is very heavy and dense. It is close by and they deliver so I think I want to like them more than I actually do, but I prefer Romano's or Brothers, but they don't deliver.

    Their Starburst and Chicken Alfredo deep dish pizzas are real good. Never tried anything else since I'm so satisfied with these two picks. Dined in here once a long time ago and received excellent service. The other times I've called in and picked up my pizzas. Efficient to-go service which is exactly how I like it.

    If you want to bring your dog, go elsewhere. I called ahead even though I've seen people in their outdoor area with their dogs before. They not only said "no dogs," but were snotty about it. Casual pizza joint; plastic cups: so-so food; way too high-end for dogs. Got it! I'll go elsewhere.

    Place was packed and the pizza was good. I heard the pizza was "Bomb DOT COM" but I had better pizza. Not taking anything away from this place, maybe it was cuz we waited like an hour and it took away the pizza eating mood. But besides that I would go again and eat the pizza

    I've heard great things about this place and have seen plenty of pics of their pies. Tired of salivating over this place, we finally got over to the Harvard St. location for a meal. Seated promptly at a 4 top since we expected more family and ended up with 7 ppl. The excellent waiter promptly pulled up another 4 top and extended our dining environment. I simply wanted to try both their NY style pizza and their much lauded Deep Dish Pizza. My only experience with real Chicago style deep dish was at Gino's in downtown Chicago but I really prefer Giordanos Famous Chicago Style Pizza with the top layer of crust and stuffed with loads of spinach, mushrooms and cheese. The only place around here to get something close is Mangia, in Austin although it's now called Pizza Bistro and has mixed reviews. Split the large Caesar and it came out in 2 bowls, thank you. Crispy romaine and excellent dressing. On to the pizza. Ordered the deep dish Starburst sans the pepperoni, a NY with chopped tomatoes and red onion and a Margherita. The deep dish Starburst was excellent. These pies usually have way too much dough but this pie was just the right combination of dough, sauce, cheese and toppings....delicious. The NY style pizza was good but really pretty average with the Margherita the same. The Deep Dish is definitely the star here, pardon the pun. Yes the crust gets soggy but show me a deep dish that doesn't and I'll show you a deep dish with an inch of doughy crust. I'm just fine with a knife and fork, thank you. Crisp and very accurate service to a tricky bunch with a lot of special requests, nice atmosphere with outdoor seating and the best Deep Dish this side of State Street makes Star Pizza a stand out in this category. We fed 7 ppl for around a hundred bucks so it's not expensive either. I hear that the lunch buffet is really good as well but it's a pretty long way to go from Austin for lunch. Have to try it again next time we're in town.

    I'm a huge fan of the deep dish pizza. I've had it at either places and it always seems a little soggy towards the center or the crust is borderline burnt. I have yet to experience any of those signs at Star. The restaurant can get a little crowded, so I usually just order for pick-up. Don't order bread sticks either, the to-go order comes with some!

    Amazing pizza! Can be pretty pricey, but its worth the taste, I like that they offer wheat crust! The only down fall that I would mention would be how greasy it can be! But hey its pizza!

    The disgruntled employee who took my delivery order by phone said it would be about 40 minutes. EXACTLY 40 minutes later, the doorbell rang with our pizza- hot and ready to eat. The whole wheat crust was wonderful and didn't even taste like whole wheat- which I think is a good thing. We got the margarita pizza (plus chicken) and even though it went pretty heavy on the garlic, the flavor was amazing. The ingredients tasted fresh and even though the crust was slightly heavier than I usually like, it really hit the (hungover) spot. Perfect delivery choice for a lazy, football-filled Sunday. Will probably be ordering again!

    OK, let's get real people...we really don't understand how this place is still open? Why are people eating here? Sure, the service staff were cool when not appearing overly board and downtrodden about having to work in such a place, but it boils down to this - she doesn't think it's as good as a Pizza Hut (which is a bad thing in case you were wondering) and he is pretty convinced this is what you would have if a Pizza Hut and a Gatti's pizza had a child, locked him in the basement his entire life and only pushed frozen, pre-packaged foods under the door. It feels cold inside, like you walked into the place where all shades of pizza possibility are banished for failing to be editable and doing a major dis-service to the word "pizza". The breadsticks were dry and we are pretty sure came from CostCo; the french bread had to have come from the day old shelf rack down at the Sunbeam factory and the pizza - no wait, the thing they were trying to pass off as pizza - was basically a circular metal tray where fluid of some descript collected in a puddle in the center ensuring all toppings, cheese, sauce and some form of grain turned into what I am pretty sure they used in Ghostbuster's II for the flowing river of slime under the city. The salad wasn't bad.

    I've only tried Star delivery, so don't know what the atmosphere is. But the pizza is tasty and..garlic-y. Good thing I'm a garlic lover. I'll be honest, it tastes better than it looks. Slices are big, cheese can look a little plasticy after sitting out a bit (but what kind of cheese doesn't?), but one bite into the spinach tomato pizza erased my suspicions. Crust was a tad hard, but i could taste the garlic bits still, cheese was fresh, perfect amount of tomatoes. I've heard on the grapevine that this place is 'old news', but old news is still pretty good news for newbies.

    Great food, especially their wheat crust pizzas. Yum! I grew up eating traditional Chicago deep dish pizzas, and their deep dish pizzas definitely remind me of Chicago. I highly recommend this place for a good pizza slice or the entire pie! They also deliver so check out their website for the full menu and to see if they deliver to your home.

    With the exception of New York Pizzeria downtown on Smith, this is one of the rock-steady, dependable quality pizza places you should know and love (or if not love, then at least like it as friend.) Friendly workers. Each time here I have not come across the metalface piercing fiascos that dot the landscape at the original Star Pizza. Good cheese pizza. If I am being plain with my order I still want some good sauce, good cheese, and good crust. Star manages to hit all three desires quite well. And their soda machine has been working well every time I have been in - there have been no flat disgusting sodas received here. This is where the pizza monster comes when he desires pizza.

    Love love love!!! They know my husband and I by name. Haha! We are simple. Cheese pizza with the New York crust is good for us and we order it at least once a week. They have awesome customer service, fast, and their cupcakes are amazing. If you haven't been to Star, you will be in for a treat! Yum!
