One of my regular guilty pleasures is a weekly lunch of hot Pho so during a recent trip to Houston I made a point of visiting Pho Saigon since the Palm City apparently boasts the second largest Vietnamese-American population in the U.S. I've given a Pho Saigon an A+ rating because its able to deliver a richly-flavored broth at an very inexpensive price point. Add in the fact that the service is tremendous (fast, efficient) and I'll use Pho Saigon as the my personal gold standard for measuring all other pho shops. I ordered the Pho Ga which I found extremely comforting--a crystal clear, hot and steamy chicken broth that not only satisfied the taste buds with its deep flavor but also provided the warm aroma of spices. The customary pho garnishes--lime juice, fresh herbs, bean sprouts and chilis were fresh, crisp and bring everything in its proper place along with the fish sauce and hot sauce. I also was extremely impressed by the service during the lunch hour. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately seated, presented a menu and served a glass of ice water. The server took my order within a minute and the hot, steamy pho ga was delivered to my table in about 3-4 minutes. Tremendous service--prompt, efficient and no nonsense! Now if these folks could takeover fumbling, inefficient government bureaucracies, then we all be in a better place! Great job, Pho Saigon. I'll be back soon.

I actually went here on a Groupon, and took my kids. It was telling that none of them liked it. I myself found it a bustling, busy, and noisy place. The décor was basic lunch-tables and servers. The pho was okay, and the appetizers -- spring rolls -- were okay. But, I guess, I haven't found a really good Pho place in Houston yet. I'd be open to suggestions...

Been coming here for a few years. Mostly takeout on my way home. Spring rolls are nice and sturdy. Vermicelli bowls a decent size and the pho is pretty good. Food always tastes fresh and service is really quick.

If I could get this place 4 1/2 stars, then I would. The food was excellent, and it was exactly what I was craving! My husband and I ordered a beef banh mi, lemongrass beef and fried egg roll over rice, spring rolls, and a bowl of Pho. To top it off, we got our food within five minutes! score!! Most Vietnamese restaurants that I go to either have their meat dry, and their eggrolls super bland. While the egg rolls could have been just a tad more tasty, it balanced well with the lemongrass beef. The banh mi was awesome! Most restaurants serve them at room temperature and with no crisp on the bread. This was the exact opposite. The meet was very juicy, and the bread was toasty and crisp to perfection!! My husband and I couldn't get over the broth. This Pho have the perfect amount of seasoning without too much oil. In fact, I just had broth, while my husband had the whole noodle soup with Eye round steak. you could really taste the cilantro and onions that have been sitting all night in the broth. It was exactly what we needed for a cold day. The one small issue I had with this place was how slow it was in paying for my meal. Also, they could've done a bit better with their red beAn pudding. The ice was not as smooth and shaved as it should've been. Otherwise, it was a nice sweet note to end my meal :-) I read a couple reviews that gave this place only one or two stars, and I couldn't disagree more. Perhaps they caught this restaurant at a time where they were updating some things. What a shame, I think this place is worth coming back to!

My favorite things about Pho Saigon are that the place is very inexpensive and absolutely deeelish. It's always my go-to place when I'm craving Viet cuisine, so you can only imagine how excited I was to find out there was one right next to my church in north Houston! YES!! I am always craving spring rolls for some reason after Sunday service, so I was thrilled beyond measure! I ordered spring rolls with grilled chicken, and mm mm mm it was so delicious, but I was actually a bit disappointed at how messy it came out. The spring rolls kind of just fell apart after my first bite because they weren't packed tightly. My lunch group ordered a variety of things on the menu: egg rolls, lots of pho, bun bo hue, and vermicelli bowls. Everyone seemingly enjoyed their orders. The wait time for food was extremely short... probably like 2 minutes, literally. Maybe even less. What.

I was craving a banh mi thit. Thien An wasn't open on Saturdays, so I decided to give this place a try. The sandwich was a major fail. The bread wasn't crunchy and rather soft. The cucumber was shredded instead of the usual wedge. They used some sweet sauce instead of the Vietnamese mayo. They put shredded lettuce (there's no lettuce in banh mi). Lastly, banh mi are supposed to be wrapped in paper and put in a paper bag. This keeps the bread crispy. Pho Saigon wrapped the sandwich in paper but then puts it in a plastic bag, which makes the bread soft. I would not get banh mi from here ever again. If so I would have to be very, very desperate.

This is one of my favorite downtown eateries! For those who don't know, pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup consisting of broth, linguine-shaped rice noodles called bánh ph, a few herbs, and meat. Pho is a popular street food in Vietnam and is primarily served with either beef or chicken. Anytime I'm feeling under the weather or hung over I try to make a stop for some pho loving!!! Pho Saigon is a downtown favorite and can get pretty busy at lunch. The atmosphere is casual and service is FAST! Pho comes HOT and always delicious with some sprouts, mint and just a touch of Sriracha. Feeling like stepping out of the box? Try the red bean dessert!

This location is exactly like their Katy location. It was busy inside but found a seat quickly. I ordered a large bowl of pho with flank beef. It came out within minutes of me sitting down at my table. Broth was flavorful without being salty and had generous amount of beef and noodles. They leave your check on your table after you order so all you have to do is go up and pay when you're done eating. $6.75 for a large bowl of pho is a deal to me.

We had a great dinner experience here on a Sunday evening. My SO works in the area and eats lunch here all the time, so we checked it out for dinner. There was plenty if seating when we came, and we were very quickly greeted and helped by a very nice woman. We had spring rolls (good) and I had a vermicelli bowl with chicken and an egg roll (#67 if I remember correctly) and it was very very good. The serving size was a great deal for the price ($6.75 ish) and you get your bang for your buck! My SO had his usual, chicken pho (#40), which he loves and eats over and over again. We had a great meal and good service for good prices. I would definitely go back.

Pho is one of my favorite comfort foods. However, the biggest drawback at Pho Saigon was the after-taste of MSG (flavor enhancer). I normally come at dinner time, which was the worse time to eat pho. I was hoping they made enough broth and didn't cheat on the volume. Also, I am not fond of the grid on the windows and doors. That made getting in and out very confusing. If you see someone bumped into the windows, it might be me. I could never remember where the door was. Ouch.

  • Candice L.

The prices are good but the egg rolls were soggy and mushy on the inside. The pho soup was bland and the noodles were over cooked. I wanted to like it but it was just wrong..

4.5 stars rounds up to five. Soooooo good. Stopped off tonight for some take out since my wife is coming down with something. Got her the mixed chicken phó and I got the seafood phó. Broth was phóking exquisite. I'd rip shots of it it was so good. We also got the egg rolls and spring rolls, which were also great. We'll be eating here more often!

Average pho place. Has a pretty good lunch deal. I always get the pho dac biet at any pho restaurant so that is the dish I judge them all on. Could have more of a beefy broth. Not bad, but not stupid good either. Just average. I ordered a banh mi thit nuong while I was at it and I have to say, pretty disappointed. Had this chopped lettuce salad to it for the greens and the meat was not good. I probably wouldn't order any thit nuong from this location or another banh mi. I come here since it's convenient in price and location to where I come up on this side for training. Otherwise, this is not a "destination" restaurant where you go out of your way to come here. It's more of a "convenience" restaurant where it happens to be there and there's a good price point to flavor ratio.

I have never tried the Pho here as I typically dont eat it. Every time I've tried Pho at other places it has given me a headache from the high heavens, I guess from all the sodium in it. I like their spring rolls here, with the peanut sauce. Sometimes I just stop in and get that to go. I also like their charbroiled chicken or beef paired with vermicelli or white rice neither disappoints.

  • Courtney B.

YUM! I really enjoyed my lunch here- the broth was seasoned really well and the service was fast. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area for lunch :)

Super cheap, OK soup.. I just tried this for the first time, and I might add first time for pho. I am always so hesitant to go places like this because I have no idea what to get. I ordered the chicken pho, I believe # 50 and I had hoped for better. The broth had a weird after taste, and I love any type of soup normally. This and a side of two egg rolls was 8 dollars and some change. It was so cheap and also so packed in there. A lady shared a table with me while I waited and she said she had several things meals off the menu and that #65 is her favorite but they are all good. Maybe I will try the beef next time or something else in general. I hope this has helped!

My experience was great. If you just want a quick bowl of pho this is an awesome place. The employees don't check up on you a lot which I don't mind because I eat quite fast. I got pho with circle beef. It was DELICIOUS. I'm sure it has some MSG but unlike ramen, this pho never leaves me sluggish or bloated. It's really light and I feel great after. It got to my table piping hot and I LOVE THAT. The vegetables were so fresh! The broth was great, the noodles were great, the beef was great, everything was phenomenal in my opinion, I only needed a squirt of lime and sriracha. I also like how you can pay up front, that way I can just get up and leave whenever I need to. They didn't rush me out when I was finished eating, it was a perfect overall experience.

The broth was the best I have ever had and it was dirt cheap. The pho itself needs some improvement.

5 stars everything. Dining in 290 area sucks ballz, but Pho Saigon is definitely top 5 on this side of town. Just stay away from the NW area, but if you're stuck here, this is just as good as Bellaire. Peace & Gig Em,

I never knew there was a Pho Saigon location near my office. I saw one of my yelp friends check-in recently, and decided to bookmark it. We have driven next to it many times, just not quite far enough down Tidwell to see it. They have a pretty solid lunch special. For 8 bucks you can get either an eggroll or spring roll, an entree (pho, vermicelli, or rice plate), and a drink. I had the eggroll, with rice and grilled pork, with an iced tea. The food comes out pretty fast and the flavors are just as good as their other locations in town. It's probably my favorite vietnamese restaurant in this area.

I love this place. I mostly order take out (they always get my order right). When I have the time I like to dine-in & enjoy my food. The staff is always nice. Never had an issue with my food nor service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I had dental work and was craving some Vietnamese soup, so I got the Beef Noodle Soup (Pho Bò). Their prices are great! It was $6.95 for the large (or should I say HUGE) portion. I got it to go and my bag came with a container of Noodles, Lean Beef, Cilantro and Onions, a large container of the yummy broth and a bag full of their "vegetables", which is actually bean sprouts, basil leaves, jalapeno and a lime wedge. I also asked if they could make it spicy and they added a spicy sauce that was the icing on the cake. My sinuses were all cleared and my achy jaw was soothed. I like the location, the restaurant inside is very large and clean, the prices for all of their food was really good, including a lunch special for which I must return. I found my new favorite (close to home) Vietnamese restaurant.

The owners/family here are very rude!!!! I saw the reviews of this restaurant and decided to try it out. When I received my food, I asked the lady at the cash register if they had "boba tea with the tapioca pearls", and she replied "Yes, we do. You wan one." She told me the flavors they had, and I gave her my order. When she brought me the "tea", I observed it to be a smoothie, and told her I asked for the tea. She refused to refund me my money when I explained to her I asked for tea and not for a smoothie. The lady argued with me, but because I continuously refused to take the smoothie, and continuously asked her to refund my money, she finally reimbursed me my money that I paid for a boba tea. HOW RUDE!!!!

Used to eat at the midtown location quite a bit, get some bun and a bahn mi across the street at givrals. Well we've moved to Oak Forest so we had to find some new Vietnamese places, tried thu thu and wasn't impressed. But this location of Pho Saigon is really really good. The bun is excellent, though my shrimp were way way way over cooked (my only complaint) but the pork, vegetables and noodles were extremely fresh and cooked perfectly. Added a little sambal to the vinegar stuff for a little kick (most places do this for you) and it was superb for $6 it was amazing. Better half had the pho bo kho which was awesome, never even heard of that before now, but it's like beef stew slow cooked with a French baguette. Excellent reheated the next day, even better with some of home made pickled jalapenos and some fresh lime. Very clean interior, fast professional service, food was ready in under 10 minutes, well packed, really impressed me. This is our new go to for Vietnamese, sure I wish they had bo lu lac and garlic tofu, or bahn mi, but this place caters to soup and bun (rice vermicelli) noodle dishes and I'm perfectly fine with that.. Nice job Pho Saigon..

I feel terrible for the people who eat here. Where to begin on all the bad things about this place. I'm a frequent eater of Vietnamese cuisine and thought I would give this place a try. I was disgusted before I even entered the establishment. Tons and tons of cigarette butts welcome you. So many cigarette butts and boxes! Empty boxes all over the place at the entrance. Obviously an employee. Disgusting! In the restaurant the everything was was nice other then the restrooms. Smelly. Full of graffiti. Unclean. Yuck! The waitress was extremely persistent in taking our orders she would leave us alone. She kept grunting and putting her hands on her hips because we were taking too long. Feeling rushed I ordered what I always get eggrolls, Ice coffee, bbq pork rice plate. Eggrolls were bland. Mediocre at best. Ice coffee which came out immediately after ordering was obviously not fresh coffee. In fact it was unbelievably artificial. Taste like bitter chocolate milk. Never had Vietnamese ice coffee so nasty. Main dish was also very bland. No wonderful fragrance or taste. Just boring food. Even the white rice was disappointing! How do you mess that up? If you eat here regularly I highly recommend you venture out and try somewhere else. I guarantee you will like it a lot better then this place. If employees trash their store front with litter and don't clean their bathrooms I can guarantee they are not the people you want cooking your food. Think about it.

Great vietnamese food. Mostly pho, rice plates and vermicelli plates. Service is well and fast. They are cheaper than most vietnamese restaurants also!

We love this place - it's always consistent and tasty!! Can't go wrong with any of their vermicelli bowls, rice dishes or pho. My favorite is their cafe sua da :)

Quick service for lunch break. Generous with the sides for phó. Broth a little weak but some like it that way. I'm more of a heavier broth type. Still good phó, especially for the price.

  • Brittiny M.

Came for lunch one day with a friend and the service was fast but not frequent. Only had one glass of homemade lemonade and never offered a refill, but the food was DELICIOUS and the drink as well! When I say fast service I mean it was almost questionable about how short the wait was between when we placed our order and the food being delivered to our table. Maybe they just prepare for their lunch rushes ahead of time? We arrived around 11 and it was empty but by 11:30 it was packed with people waiting for an open table. Get here early if you don't want to rush during the week!

    (3)
  • Anando S.

Very good for its price. My average experience was probably due to a bad order so cant blame the food. Try their coffee after your meal. For its location, they have a very good system for free parking.

Some of the best Vietnamese food. Their spring rolls are the best I have ever had! The 57E, cubed beef over rice, is amazing.

  • Leena C.

It is your basic pho place. It gets pretty busy on the weekend afternoons. The service is standard for an Asian restaurant. Not overly attentive but enough to get you what you need. I only eat the pho here bc that is what they are known for - period. We do order the egg roll or spring rolls occasionally and those are ok. This is a great place to go if you are craving pho in a standard pho setting and nothing too eccentric. I always feel better after eating here esp when I'm sick.

Deliciou! Pho is great. Gotta get egg rolls. Great prices! Lunch time is busy but moves fast.

  • Tuan N.

Preface: I have sensitivities to MSG and fatty foods so what I look for in Pho is a tasty bowl with just enough fat to give it flavor and MSG should be imperceptible to how my tongue feels after lunch. Pho here is over flavored. MSG and fat are heavy. . Dont get me wrong, the Pho is great if you want a non-homemade style. Just too much for me. I left with a tummy ache and the MSG after-taste in my mouth for hours. The environment is wafting full of hot bowls of steamy pho but to a degree that leaves the tables and chairs somewhat dirty. I hate leaving a restaurant where my clothes smell like the food and I got just that. They upsell you on spring rolls and egg rolls. The waiter was coy enough to ask me to choose an eggroll or spring roll but didn't care to mention its additional dollar cost. I didnt like that and felt cheated. However in their defense, its a really good spring roll. Just not quite a dollar worth.

    (3)
  • TF K.

The pho tastes delicious and servings are quite big. I think there is quite a lot of MSG in the broth, I don't like this but the taste is good though. Staff is friendly and fast.

  • Naji S.

Really, it's simple Vietnamese food... All of your Pho, all of your vermicelli bowls, all of the rice dishes. Tonight I was especially disappointed when my rice noodles in my pho were stale. I know these guys must go through 100 pounds of rice noodles a day and yet I somehow got stale dried noodles. Cheap for sure, not a bad buy, service is super quick.

    (3)
  • Stacy T.

I'm pretty new to Vietnamese cuisine, so I tend to just get the same dish everywhere. This place is close to work, and I love going there during my break. They are incredibly fast serving the food, whether it's sit down or you ask for it to-go. There are a few other Vietnamese/noodle houses in the area, but I really enjoy this one, and stick with it.

    (5)
  • Connie L.

Bad, so bad. The vietnamese sandwiches has lettuce in them !! It was smeared with soy sauce instead of pate and butter. Pho was flavorless. Grilles chicken for the vermicelli bowl just tasted like browned sugar. Just don't go here. Food is awful.

Love this place! The food is very good, cheap and no long waits. For lunch it does get crowded but they don't take long at all.

First off, I really like the original pho saigon on milam as it's my go to spot for lunch when I'm at U of H. Therefore, when I saw this Pho Saigon close to my house, I had to try it. The atmosphere is like the one off of Milam where it was packed, but the service was pretty quick as usual. I got my usual of pho tai bo vien with a spring roll and cafe su da. It definitely wasn't as good as the original, but it was pretty close. Glad I discovered this location so whenever I'm craving pho, I have a go to spot near my house.

  • Christina N.

Lunch time by the office! WooHoo! This place is super busy during the lunch break. It's quite simple... If a place has customer's coming back frequently and on a daily basis.. they must be doing something right! Tip: Lunch is 6.99 and offers a spring roll/egg roll, an entree, and a soda. Service is quick, prompt and attentive.

Pho Saigon was a convenient place to dine while waiting for an oil change on my car to get done next door. I was craving pho anyway, so it worked out perfectly. I am glad it did because I really liked the pho I ordered, the #26 beef noodle soup with well-done lean meat, flank, brisket, soft tendon and white omasum beef tripe. Yeah, I'm not just going to do brisket. Too American. You need the different textures to make it yummy. Overall, the pho was four star worthy. The lean meat, flank, and brisket were flavorful and the tendon and tripe had the right texture without being too chewy. The pho also came out right away. I mean fast. It was part of a $6.99 lunch special that also came with a spring roll and iced tea. The spring roll was lackluster and a bit on the small side, but I'm not going to complain about the size since they are throwing it in with a special. I did like the peanut sauce which was freshly made and not overly sweet. I also ordered a soursop smoothie to go. They need to invest in a better blender because there were pieces of ice in there that made it not so smoothie. The service was ok overall. The servers were definitely friendly and helpful, but could be a little more attentive with refills. But I must admit I am a horse when it comes to downing water or tea. Props to Pho Saigon for good value and quick service. I plan to return for the pho and the convenience and maybe next time I will try their three bean dessert pudding instead of a smoothie.

My family and I go here quite a lot. Food is good and made to order. We pretty much the same thing every time we go. My husband and son get the #53, and I get the #21 with no cilantro. Occasionally they guys will get one of there specialty drinks which they say they are good, I'm just not that adventurous.

  • Lan N.

Had the lunch special which wasn't very special when it came out to be $10. I should have just gotten the entree for $6.25. Like most vietnamese places they don't waste time, 5 seconds in that chair they already ask what you want and off with the menus they go. Mediocre pho, nothing to rave about.

  • Jenzy Y.

I'm not sure why people are fans of Jenni's Noodle House when they can get the authentic stuff. I've been to many a Pho Saigon throughout Houston. The food is solid and you can't go wrong with ordering anything from the menu. I like to stick to the buns or phos, but the rice dishes are nice as well. I really like their spring rolls. Mmmm...fresh and soft. Couple of notes: 1. The food comes out FAST. Don't expect to sit and nibble through your appetizer. Be prepared 2. Large or small? I am a total noodle-head and so always order the small bowl of pho. I never finish the broth although it is delicious. My partner on the other hand, always finishes broth and never finishes the noodles. Perhaps we should just order 1 bowl next time...?

This place is one of the few decent food places in this area. I have been here a few times and everytime the staff is incredibly friendly and the food is great. Their to-go service is very fast too. Their egg rolls are awesome and their peanut sauce served with the spring rolls is amazing! The lemon grass beef is the most recent new thing I have tried and it is a new favorite. If you are in the area dont waste your time with other Pho places, just come here.

I take the bus to work at the Med Center, and i recently was feeling a little motion sick after my bus ride home. I wanted some yummy chicken noodle soup to settle my stomach, so we went to pick some up at Pho Saigon. I love this place because of the prices ($5.99 for a large Pho, $5.15 for a small) and because they offer Pho to pick-up. It comes with the broth in a plastic container, veggies and herbs in a bag, and meat in a box. This allows you to reheat or save the individual items, which makes it a lot fresher. Come grab some pho on a cold night or when you're feeling under the weather, and you won't be disappointed.

I've been to this location a few times. The staff is always very friendly. The food is cheap and good. You can get in and out of here fast with great service and good food. What more can you ask for?

  • Ami C.

I love the food here. I always order takeout from here and have yet to be disappointed. We have eaten inside many times as well and the service is not great. They had changed management and service did get a little better, not much better but a little. I agree with other reviewers that say that this is the best for the area. It is what you expect for the price, maybe even a bit more than what you expect for the price.

I have been in a Pho craze lately and I am so happy that there are lots of options in this part of town. Everyone usually goes to the Pho Saigon on Milam, but I just don't feel like dealing with the Midtown chaos. This location is big and spacious inside and out. Parking is not a problem. As you walk in, there is a counter/menu station to separate the entrance from the restaurant. The smell of pho and star anise embodies the place. I love it!! I usually order number 18 which is the pho dac biet (Pho with all the beefy goodness). Being the little fatty that I am I want a little bit of everything in my noodle soup. The bean sprouts, cilantro, thai basil, lime and jalapenos are always fresh and clean. I smother my bow with as much veggies as I can just to get my daily "green." ****You should check out their website to get to know the exact translations for the meats in their pho. For the appetizer, so far I have tried the fried dumplings. They are the standard gingery dumplings that you find at the asian store and Pho Saigon deep fries the dumplings. NO complaints here, just not home made if that is what you're looking for. Another app that we have had is the Goi Cuon Thit Nuong. Which is the SOFT spring roll with grilled pork. It was GOOD! Perfect amount of meat, vermicelli and bean sprouts. It was only $2.40 for 2 rolls. With food of that quality and taste, I have seen restaurants charge waaay more than that. I have been here twice and the place is worth visiting if you are in the area. I wouldn't exactly drive all the way here if I still lived in the west side of town, but for the location, quality and price --it is really impressive here!

How have i never reviewed this place before ?! I've been going here for years as the staple cheap pho place. They now have different tea's and boba drinks on the menu. The pho is mediocre, not bad. The broth is a little more oily and definitely not as flavorful as Pho dalat's 1 block down. But for the price you can't complain. One advantage is you can go up to pay and they split checks. No difficulty paying by credit card either. This makes this place much more convenient for large groups.

LOVE this place. The food is not only wonderful when your hungry or when it is cold outside but also very cheap. It makes me sad to think that a couple years ago I didn't even know what Pho was. A large bowl and a drink will run about $7 and you will enjoy every bit of it. I guess the greatest part of Pho is the fact that it is so simply yet at the same time different and all around affordable. The waiting staff is a bit absent sometimes but I really don't go to Pho Saigon for the staff or environment. The great food speaks for itself. Overall, I give it a 4 because for me it is one of those things like pizza that is simple, cheap, and a for sure pleasure. But what do I know?

I am usually pho'd out. And by that, I mean, I ate many meals out at Pho John's in college (maybe the only Vietnamese restaurant in College Station). However, I have many friends that love going to Pho-something or the other, so I give in. Of the Pho places around town that we go to, Pho Saigon is the most frequented, so I have tried lots of their dishes. In my quest to discover my "most favoritest" dish, I have tried the pho noodle dishes, vermicelli dishes, rice dishes, the banh mi, egg rolls and spring rolls...and the results are in! I am not a fan of the spring rolls b/c they have some spongy-ish pork in them...blech! Although, the peanut dipping sauce is good. I prefer the crispy egg rolls filled with goodness (basically, I'm not sure what's in them). The banh mi is not appealing to me because the meat doesn't have that "bbq'd" flavor as they typically call it at other places that serve banh mi. They pretty much just take the chargrilled meats they use in their other dishes and slap it on some bread. Eh. I have had MUCH better. In my opinion, lots of these dishes are similar, but incorporate different starches. Vermicelli bowls are shredded lettuce, cucumber, bean sprouts and your choice of meat over vermicelli with fish sauce on the side. Rice dishes are the same general ingredients...over rice, with fish sauce on the side. So, it's up to you to decide how you want it. However, the noodle soups are pretty tasty, especially on a cold day. I used to get the white meat chicken in the pho noodle soup, but have officially switched over to eye of round. It is better enhanced by the flavors from the broth, green onions, red onions, cilantro and basil. From now on, I will probably alternate between ordering the eye of round noodle soup or one of the rice dishes that includes the egg rolls. In other news, it's cheap (under $10) and service is prompt when present but you can pay at the counter to speed things up.

The pho here is good but not the best. The service was very good. However the price was unbeatable.

Part of the Pho Saigon chain (according to their website they have 10 locations around Houston), this one is really no different than their other locations (i.e. Midtown). Focusing on cafe style food, their menu is limited to pho, vermicelli noodle bowls (bun), egg noodle soup (mi) and rice plates (com dia). One of the reasons I like them (even as a chain) is their food is always consistent every time I visit. I am a fan of Pho Saigon's pho, I think their broth is seasoned just right. The Midtown location's broth can be kinda greasy but not the case in this location. I only visit during lunch time and they're always packed. But, they have a pretty big dining area with plenty of tables. Service is always fast. You can pretty much get in and out in under an hour.

Eaten here dozens of times as I live in the area. I'm addicted to the Bo Kho (Vietnamese Beef Stew soup). I like the Vietnamese egg rolls as well. Service is always friendly. Your food does arrive fast, as other reviews have noted. They also have takeout pho, which is awesome. Plus the food is inexpensive. Great place all around.

Love it. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good pho place in this area. They have all the favorites from other pho places (bun bo hue, bo kho, etc). They provide all the fixins and their service is fast. Reminds me of pho from southwest bellaire but this place actually looks clean and doesn't have any weird smells. Prices are pretty good. Easily the best pho place in this area. I'll be coming here any time i'm nearby.

Great Viet food! Close, fresh, tasty and super fast. I've had the pho here and the rice noodles and they are both very nice. Cheap too!

When my bowl of Pho Ga came out, I could immediately smell that it was expertly seasoned. The chicken variety of pho can sometimes have a rather bland broth, light in color, when compared to its beef-based cousins. But the soup at Pho Saigon was dark and rich, and generously laden with green and white onions and cilantro. The basil, sprouts, and jalapeños are served on a dish on the side, and add to the complex array of flavors. I was a bit disappointed with the actual amount of chicken in the bowl, but the copious noodles left me full nevertheless, as did the Banh Mi sandwich I ordered on the side. It's tough to resist a good Vietnamese sandwich, and Pho Saigon is there to satisfy that craving. The golden brown baguette was warm and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, stuffed with grilled pork, cucumber, and carrots, dressed with mayonnaise. The pork wasn't quite as charred as you might get other places, lacking some of the flavor, and I missed the usually requisite slices of fresh jalapeños, but in the end, I still enjoyed this savory dish. While the sandwich was a bit more expensive than you might be used to, at $3.10 instead of the average $2.50, it's still a delicious bargain. As is the noodle soup, which was actually cheaper for the small at $4.99 than most places at $5.99. In the end, my lunch was less expensive at Pho Saigon than my usual Vietnamese tiffin, which is normally just soup and some spring rolls - yet I was absolutely stuffed. Of the many around town, this location is closest to my office, but still farther than I would normally drive for lunch, yet I'm sure I'll be back to try some of their many additional offerings.

Everything I have gotten here has been delicious. Food quality wise this place is 4-star, great price for what you get but it's nothing out of this world. The reason I gave this place 5 stars is because of the location, price, and service here. To get anything slightly better you have to drive 30 mins out to Willowbrook or Bellaire areas if you live in this area so it makes life so much more enjoyable here. A staple in our community indeed.

Its so hard to find Bun Bo hue in Houston as it is. So when I do see it on the menu I always order. They got my vote !

The food is average but a bit too greasy to compare to other Vietnamese restaurants. The service was pretty bad when we went there. The waitress had an attitude when we could not understand what she said... Hope they hire people who speak English.

Pho-licious! I always love their distinct perfectly seasoned broth flavor mmmm...our regular is Pho Tai Bo Vien & the Vermicelli with Charbroiled Pork is delish! I had a big order once and they packed everything in a box for me, I thought that was very considerate.

Went here one day with co-workers for lunch after someone suggested it, and it definitely keeps us going back. We've had the same server each time that we've been and she is really nice and helpful, although there is a little bit of a language barrier...so far I've only tried the fatty beef, lean beef, and fish ball/shrimp pho mixed with sriracha(sp) sauce and I haven't been let down yet. The tapioca smoothies aren't too bad either, we will definitely continue to go there to get our fix!

This was my second trip to pho sai gon, and it was just as good as the first.. Service is quick and friendly and most importantly the food was so fresh and delicious. I've tried the steamed rice w/charred chicken and egg roll and the chicken noodle w/chicken. Two dishes you can never go wrong on.

Good spring rolls and their char-grilled bun dishes are tasty. There are several locations around town but this is right behind the Target so convenient.
