Have not experienced some of the busy lunch issues expressed by others. This review comes from a dinner perspective. We have eaten here about 5 times recently (over the past 6 months), and this has become our favorite Thai restaurant since Khun Noi closed on Mason Rd. We like it better than Thai Spice on S. Mason and better than the new Thai Cottage on I-10 near Fry Rd...which, by the way, is more expensive. The food has always been good - garlic chicken and yellow curry are two of our favorites. There was one dish that it seems they use fish oil in, it may have been the cashew chicken mentioned by others. I'm not positive. The price seems comparable or better than other Thai and Indian restaurants on the west side. In fact, I'll say better because their entree portions are bigger. One entree feeds 2, and 2 entrees definitely fill 3 people if not a bit left over. Service has been a bit slow once or twice.

Cute little lunch joint in a house! I love the setup and atmosphere. Lunch menu comes with an appetizer buffet. They had two types of soup, miso and tum yum. Everything else in the buffet wasn't real food. It was fried carbs or just carbs. Not complaining though because lunch was only 11 bucks. I ordered basil beef. It was forgettable. You can get brown rice there, so that's a plus.

5 stars!!! Josh, you be cray cray!! The $*#& I am!! Ginger Thai is the bomb diggity and my new favorite Thai place in Houston. They have FREE sushi, salad, soup, spring rolls, cheese rolls and more that you could literally make a meal out of. And to top it off, they have sauces that will make you wanna slap yo momma. I got a pretty decent portion of the Pad Se-Ew I ordered and it was cooked and seasoned very well. The service was impeccable as they were topping my water off faster than I could put it down my esophagus and the enviroment was clean, open, and pleasant. Seriously though, all silliness aside. Ginger Thai is really good, so go there!

Good Thai food! The tom yum soup was delicious, but it can get a little salty if you have too much of it. we also had the pad thai and panang curry which were very good as well. The staff was very nice and attentive. I would definitely come back especially since its so close to where I live!

I have been here multiple times for lunch with my BP buddies. The best part is the lunch appetizer / salad / sushi bar. Hit it up while you wait for your food. The food itself is just decent. I have a habit of comparing Pad Kee Maw or Pad Thai at every Thai place I been to. This wasn't the best I have ever had. Felt like there was too much sodium in my food. Not a bad place for lunch but you might get bored of the place after 3 visits.

Met my cousin here for lunch on a random weekday and it was pretty busy. I ordered the pad thai which was just alright, nothing special. I was intrigued by their appetizer buffet but my intrigue fell short when I actually saw the buffet and it was just very... sad looking. Not that many choices and nothing looked fresh or appetizing. I tried the tom yum, the egg rolls, and some sushi rolls. All just meh. I won't be coming back because even thinking about dining here makes my tummy queasy. No bueno.

OMG I LOVE THAI FOOD. We tried this place because my mom bought a groupon for it (I know right, how DID my mom figure out what a groupon is??). It was really good - possibly because my expectations were low, but probably because it was tasty. We came for dinner and were basically the only ones there. I realize this place is off the hizzay during lunch because it's in the Energy Corridor, but it's a great dinner spot. Nice interior, good service, and good food. We ordered: Panang curry with tofu: soooooo gooooood. I'm a huge panang curry enthusiast already, and this was probably the best I ever had. It had bell peppers (red and green) and non-chewy tofu. Yummmm. Pad prik khing with chicken: solid chicken quality, spicy, green beans, green bell peppers, wow. Taste of ginger with vegetables: eh. ehhhhh. Not their best work. It was kinda bland and we had to mix it with panang curry to make it work. Errything works in panang curry though. Overall, a bit pricier than I would expect, but I'm pleasantly surprised! And so happy I found a thai place to frequent in Houston.

Good food. Nothing outstanding. The appetizer bar is a neat addition to the meals.

This place is the best Thai Food and sushi I've ever had, and I have dined at hundreds of Thai restaurants around the state of TX, US, and even a few in Mexico and Canada. I love their spicy salmon suhi roll, spicy tuna sushi, Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, Basil Fried Rice, & Green Curry! First - their sushi - perfect balance of spicy, fresh, great texture of the raw fish (not mushy), with a perfectly crisp spear of cucumber in the middle, with perfectly strong wasabi. I am so spoiled by this perfect sushi that I don't enjoy other sushi joints like I used to. Next - their Tom Yum soup! It is absolute perfection with tender chicken pieces and a hint of citrusy lemongrass to balance it out. I have ordered it late at night right before closing when it was not as fresh, but it is always perfect for lunch or a normal dinner hour. The pad thai is always wonderful, not too sweet, and a smokey balanced flavor that other restaurants don't offer (normally more tart/sweet without the smokey taste). Not sure what kind of pepper they use, maybe white pepper powder, but it is amazing. The Pad Kee Mow has great flavor and as much as I enjoy it, there are more tomatoes and thinner/narrower noodles than I prefer. But I make this dish at home all the time, and have quite high standards and particular way I like it. Still - theirs is delicious. The Basil fried rice is killer. The Green Curry is EPIC - it has a lovely curry and jalapeño flavor with the perfect amount and type of veggies. Also, the service is rather fast, friendly, and the owner is around and quite obviously takes pride in her food and restaurant atmosphere and loyal customers. If you love Thai food - go here! We started out in the city living about 4 miles away from Ginger thai and got hooked. Now that we live an hour away, we still make the trip out to West Houston for our thai food fix every few weeks. We also try new Thai restaurants regularly and they just don't measure up. Last, I love the 2 for $5 Chang deal. Wish I could find this beer in the stores.

We've been to Ginger Thai twice now and it is the best Thai restaurant we've tried in Houston (We've tried many as there are a ton of choices in our fair city.) It's also incredibly convenient that this place also happens to be one of the closest nice restaurants to our house. On this lovely evening we asked to be sat outside. We were promptly greeted by the waitress and I ordered a Chang beer and my wife the lone Riesling glass on the menu. Both were great choices and paired well with the very spicy dinners. This was our second time so we knew to order the fantastic cheese rolls which are slim fried egg rolls filled with cream cheese. The fried tofu is also fantastic...crispy/crunchy on the outside and soft inside with just the right amount of salt and a sweet/spicy peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was a refreshing change from typical peanut-buttery Thai sauces in that the fresh roasted peanuts are just granulated to coarse sand texture so it totally changes the personality of the sauce and cuts the overbearing peanut flavor. My main course I ordered the Garlic stir-fry with mixed vegetables and tofu for the protein so that my vegetarian wife could taste it. The garlic was roasted/dark fried and very flavorful. I asked the sauce to be made extra spicy which clearly the chef delivered. The spicy garlic flavor was offset by the just right level of sweetness in the sauce (probably palm sugar) and Ginger Thai avoided the common trap of overcooking the broccoli, Napa cabbage, carrots and other vegetables as they were very fresh and still crunchy. The raw cucumber on the bottom of the dish was a nice touch as it added nicely to the texture of the meal. The only downside to tonight's experience was that the chef must have thought my wife wanted extra spicy because unlike last time, the same Basil curry was fiery hot. She ended up gulping down all her water as well as mine. :-) The first time I went here I ordered the grilled sea bass with mango salsa. The sauces and spices were fantastic there as you get a whole-plate fillet of perfectly cooked sea bass (no bones to worry about) yet the meal is very light and leaves room for appetizers and beer. We have yet to try the typical heavy Coconut-milk based curries because perhaps we fear would be hard for Ginger Thai to set themselves apart from the mediocre Thai restaurant that's so common in Houston with a coconut curry dish. Maybe that's a risk we should take next time. We look forward to our next visit here as it's just a short drive down the road for us and it's baby friendly for our 9-month old who can be a handful sometimes. The food and service are excellent.

My first experience at this restaurant was Mother's Day, and unfortunately a huge disappointment. The Food was warm and kinda per made tasting, and one of the dishes was not like they regularly make it ( according to a regular who came with us). I was willing to overlook all that and come again to try their lunch. But they overcharged us for items we didn't order, and misled us when we arrived with a special that was not really so. For a restaurant that only had 3 tables that evening, the food and service should have been 100 times better than what it was. But the unacceptable part was the extras on the bill. Dishonesty is unacceptable. BEWARE... There are too many great Thai places to settle for this one. Find another one.

I love Ginger Thai. Really great food, loses a star for the service and somewhat for the pricing. (Though it's better priced than some other Thai restaurants in the area.) Parking for lunch is a hot mess in this area, but it is well worth it. For around $10 you get a lunch special, plus an appetizer bar, which has a good amount of options (springrolls, salad, several soups, plus sushi). The outside seating area is small, but great for days when the weather is nice. I will be back!

Came here once, about a year ago, with a few coworkers. Before I entered the restaurant, they were talking about the last time they were there. One of them had a maggot on his food. After hearing this, I wanted to turn around and go somewhere else. But, I had no choice, they still wanted to eat there. So, we got a table, sat and ordered. Halfway into our meal, one of us called our server and wanted his plate taken out because there were eggshells on his food. Go figure.

The BEST Thai food in Houston! I will say it is a little pricey, but absolutely worth it. The food is very fresh and delicately spicy or very spicy, whatever your preference they will cater to your needs. I picked up a few of their $15 for $30 deals from livingsocial.com or I dine at lunch if I'm on a tight budget. They have an appetizer buffet available during lunch that is included in your meal and features items such as miniature spring rolls, sushi rolls, fresh fruit and a salad bar. Definitely doesn't break the bank for lunch. I usually order the Panang Chicken Curry and spring rolls, but have tried many other items and enjoyed everything. Great atmosphere and excellent service. I always keep coming back

Most of the reviews of this place was for lunch so I was disappointed at the dinner that I had, probably because I came in with such high expectations though. I went with my sister and we ordered 2 rolls. The spicy salmon was just ok. The other specialty roll was very good albeit overpriced. For entree, we ordered the fried fish with topped green mango salad. It was good, but have had better. The winner of the evening was their mango sticky rice. Their rice tasted better than most thai places and they added sesame seeds on top. Overall, if it wasn't $$ and really far, I would go back, but their dinner is nothing special.

I come here only for their weekday lunches. It is always jam- packed during the lunch rush. Everyone who works in the energy corridor knows this place well including my husband. The real drawl to this place is their salad/ appetizer/ and sushi bar that is included with the entree that you order. Their lunch special as all the basics- pad thai, pad-kee-mao, and pad-see- eww. They all range about $10 per entree. Their actual entrees are not that great, but what keeps people coming back is it's value. The buffet lines has vegetable tempura, spring rolls, egg rolls, salad bar, soup station, sushi rolls, and some dessert. For a buffet, you really can't complain. You also have the option of getting the buffet only which is $8.50. I wouldn't go so far as to say best Thai food, but I would definitely best value!

We have been going to Ginger Thai for years. Their pineapple fried rice alone is worth the trip! Their Tom Yom is also very good. Dinner is usually quiet while lunch can get really crowded. With the generous salad/sushi/appetizer bar I understand why. I usually take leftovers of my meal after enjoying all the starters. The service is usually very fast and friendly. It is a favorite in the Energy Corridor area.

Stopped in for dinner while passing through Houston. Food was great and compares to best Thai restaurants I've been to in Austin. Big portions so maybe try splitting an entree. On the whole, solid Thai food right off the Interstate. Great for a rest stop that is infinite cuts above the Love's/McDonald's typical road trip stop. Definitely worth a stop.

The food is fantastic, especially for vegetarians and vegans. The restaurant is clean and pleasant. The service can be a bit spotty at times when the main manager lady isn't around, and the portions are smaller than the average Thai restaurant. It is also a bit more pricey than many of it's competition. I'd say the best time to go would be lunch time because they include a salad, soup, sushi and appetizers.

I am a thai food fan - if you haven't yet figured out from my reviews.. This is my go-to place for lunches when I am in Houston working. They have a full salad and soup bar. They are extremely busy during lunch times but yet their service does not falter ..

Gonna hafta pick up your game to survive, you have some tough competition in this category. Friday night and two servers running around one hanging out, and I guess all three were our servers? Place wasn't that busy but took a while to get to us (I'm not that picky either but this was a long while) and then again to come drop off our drinks and then again to take our order etc. etc. I think the problem however was more with management then servers themselves the two that were running were sweating, frantic and trying. It was just all disorganized. The prices were steep (not expensive had the food been wonderful but for what you got wasn't worth the price) and food was decent. Example: my $5 iceberg lettuce small side-salad seemed very steep, it obviously came straight from the bag with pre-sliced carrots, however the dressing was good. Two-stars for the food tasting pretty good, but had to subtract three stars b.c I used to get the same quality food with same type of flakey service at a hole-in-the-wall place for a quarter of the price.

Ginger Thai & Sushi -- excellent Thai food. Took wife and kid to dinner on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Food quality is exceptional- paid over $115 in meals for 2 1/2 people. Price may be high; but I let you be the judge. Again, I rather pay a high price and be satisfied than deep discount and the food not good at all. I do recommend this restaurant.

I had been to Ginger Thai once prior with my boyfriend and all we had were appetizers. The spring rolls came with a peanut sauce, and were amazing! We also tried the fried tofu and chicken satay. The fried tofu was dry and unmemorable and the chicken satay was mediocre at best. However, we decided to come back and try out their yellow curry with tofu. BIG MISTAKE! The curry looking more like a watered down soup than a substantial yellow curry. The tofu was soft and soggy and it was completely over priced! I couldn't even eat the dish, so I decided to order some dumplings. The presentation was nice..but the taste?? It tasted like putrified meat and smelled like rotten peppered shrimp! Needless to say, I will NOT be coming back!

Yummy!!! I love that they have the option of having brown rice! My husband has the pad thai was was thoroughly delighted with it! We had the cheese rolls with cilantro dipping sauce. Delicious!!! I had the vegetables with tofu and ginger sauce. Light and healthy but still oh so tasty!!! I will definitely be back!!! Yay Ginger Thai!!

Great place for lunch, nice lunch options that taste great. Great staff and a lot of space including patio. Wish they would have more curry options for lunch, but the appetizer bar is a great add on.

So, let me start off by saying that thanks to my dear friend Tony Bailes I make the best Pad-Thai. Don't mean to toot my own horn but my wife and I had not eaten it anywhere else that could top mine, UNTIL we went here! The taste nearly blew me away! Yes I was a little jealous cause I had ordered the teriyaki chicken, but damn, the teriyaki plate was good too! We've been here many times since with the same great taste everytime. To me, the teriyaki is a simple dish that I've tried to replicate BUT they use the perfect portions of each veggie and I always over-do it. I'm just glad that we have finally found our go-to spot for Pad-Thai. I had originally given this place a 5 star rating but we went a few days ago and they/I forgot to put my egg rolls with the order too. Its not that big of a deal but still a little of a headache when you have a hungry wife. Its a great place and we will be back!

There are two or three other Thai places within 5 miles of this restaurant that are at least 10 times better than what I experienced here. The simplest of Thai dishes, Pad Thai, was a disaster from this place. I had to ask 3 times for limes to only FINALLY be told they had none. Evidently they use the bottled lime juice while cooking the dish. That explains the bitter after taste. Then, the waitress was miffed that I made a big deal out of the fact that it took 3 requests before finding out about the limes. When I asked her the first time, she heard limes and interpreted it as sirachi sauce!! Really?!?!?

Came here for lunch with a old friend of mine, she recommended this place. The place has a light airy feel with lots of natural light streaming in and vaulted ceilings. The place was packed at 11 am but still didn't have problems finding a seat. The best part about this whole experience has to be the salad bar/appetizer station. It wrapped around what was the bar and had all kinds of goodies in the offing from sushi rolls and spring rolls. It had quite a decent array of delights. After the fabulous beginning, came the main course lunch special. I ordered some peanut chicken with rice. It was fabulous! Nice mild curry and quite a generous portion. It wasn't cheap around $9 but if you factor the salad bar and the generous portions and friendly atmosphere I would say you could easily justify the amount. I would gladly return again.

My go -to for thai when I'm in Houston/energy corridor area! The tom yum soup is so spicy and good and the Pad Thai is amazing. A little pricey, but I highly recommend!

I ate dinner. I had a tuna sushi roll and the Yellow Curry w/ Chicken. The tuna was fresh and other than the tough nori it was wrapped in, it was pretty good. The curry was bland. The potatoes was cut too thick and were barely done. If they are sliced thinly they will infuse with the curry flavor. It didn't taste like any of the ingredients were cooked for long in the curry sauce. They didn't have any flavor. And it was expensive. Yellow curry is not made from expensive ingredients. I've had much better Thai food.

Oh my goodness. I have eaten Thai all over the country and this is one of the most flavorful places I have eaten. I have never had a Tom Yum Shrimp soup as good as the one from here. My wife had the Pad Thai and that was amazing. I had the soft shell crab.....off the hook! Big portions and the nicest, most attentive wait staff!

The service was excellent and the food was great. I went with a girlfriend to catch up. There were lovely couples seated around us. There was a family seated behind us. they had a child that screamed throughout our meal. When the mother would correct the child, the child would cry loudly. The couples began leaving and we were stuck there, in this quiet quaint restaurant, with this family who also stayed to visit while the child continued screaming in the restaurant. They were running a sale on their wine selection, which was nice. And the food prices were reasonable. I just had putt thai stuck in my esophagus until midnight due to the persistent screaming throughout my meal. I'd like to think that if this was an adult and not a 4-year-old that the management would have asked them to leave. Inappropriate is inappropriate, people! This comes from a mother of three sons.

in Houston for a family funeral and know absolutely nothing about the town, so I check with my friends at Yelp...sweetie wants TX BBQ. after a wild goose chase looking for 529 BBQ, which one writer described as the best mesquite BBQ in Houston, we headed back for our hotel to develop plan B. over on TX route 6, near I-10 we spy a bunch of cars parked around a place with PUB in giant letters on the roof--we're hungry, have had a long drive, and at this point a little irritable. & I have whiplash from the crazy U-turn lanes in this town. SO, after all that, my friends, we find right next door to PUB, a very attractive building sporting the name Ginger Thai. well, I've been Jonesin' for some good Thai since I left those sweet little ladies at Tip Thai back in Richmond. This place did not disappoint. We started with spring rolls, perfectly made with a healthy shrimp, nice greens& a little basil. Next we each had a bowl of Tom Kha Gai soup. presentation in covered crocks--it stayed hot all the way to the bottom of the bowl. we asked for Thai hot--fresh and dried peppers were added to it. Along with the flavor of fresh lemongrass, it was perfectly seasoned. my benchmark dish for Thai is chicken panang. best I've had since I left Richmond last October. DH's grilled pork with noodles also very tasty. I can't vouch for the sushi, so Wendy F, I'm sorry your experience didn't meet expectations. I for one, will seek this place out if I'm ever in Houston again. Highly recommended & reasonable for the quality.

They messed up our order after we clearly told them NOT to make it spicy and they did. Horrible service to start off. We had to actually get up and ask for a refill because the waitress didn't even look our way. Every time we needed something I had to wave them down. Food was OK but after that service you will never see me back there again!

I went there for lunch. What a deal. Lunch entrees run about $10, but include self service at the soup, salad, sushi and Thai appetizer bar! More food than you can eat! I had the curry of the day. Hot, spicy and delicious. The place was clean and service was fast even though it was packed with patrons. I'll definitely come here again.

I was looking to pick up some takeout last night and I happened upon a fairly new Thai restaurant in the little Energy Corridor neighborhood by HWY 6 and I-10. (just around the corner from Lupe Tortilla) This is not a hole-in-the-wall; it's good sized, clean and cute on the inside. They are working on getting a beverage license, so it is BYOB for now. What'd I have to eat? I ordered the veggie tempura appetizer (a huge portion for $5!) and for main course, Grilled Salmon in Panang Sauce over Angel Hair pasta. ($16) Both were absolutely delicious!! The veggies were light and colorful, and came with a cup of broth for dipping. The Salmon was a very generous portion as well, and as noted on the menu, a little spicy! When I go back, it may be difficult to order anything else, I was quite pleased with my choices. Ginger Thai & Sushi is family owned and operated, open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. --------------- I want to update my review with a few more dishes I've had since my original visit: The dumpling appetizer I've now had twice- 4 plump heavenly morsels! The combo veggie/shrimp tempura is also a winner. For entrees: 1. Tiger Cry beef was absolutely perfect, and because I take my food to go, they cut the beef into normal size pieces. So helpful and considerate! 2. Fish Triple Flavor, and 3. Mango Fish Both are batter-fried Red Snapper, but with different, flavorful and spicy sauces. 4. Pad Prik-King with beef was a generous bargain at 12 bucks. ------ I really want to try one of the curry dishes; I've been here 6 times and i can't believe I have yet to try one. Gonna have to rectify that very soon!

I really enjoyed eating here. My favorite thing is probably the atmosphere. It was beautiful inside but the weather was great so we sat outside. It was perfect and the waitress was still attentive. The salad bar was also very good. It had a variety of items including salad, soups, sushi rolls, and fried bananas. I think there was a dessert option as well. It was all fresh and delicious. The peanut sauce/dressing was to die for! You must try it. I also liked that they allow you to make any meal vegetarian friendly by exchanging the meats for tofu. One negative would be that the curry I had was several chunks of tofu and lots of sauce. I only had 1 potato and 1 carrot in the bowl and it would have been nice to have more of the veggies and less of the soupy sauce!

Food and service and atmosphere was all very nice and the wait staff was very friendly as well when we were there. Went back to lunch there and it is also very good with a lot of menu items and a nice salad bar with sushi and soup as well. All was very good and I especially liked the chicken larb salad they have but everything we have had there has been quite good.

I am writing this while my palate is still reveling. My comments, simply: WOW. This place far surpassed anything I expected. I went in, and despite "sushi" being in the name posted here, I did not know they served it. I have stayed nearby for 2 months for work, and have wanted to try this place all along. Seeing the sushi bar, I had to start with a small portion. I got the spicy tuna handroll. There is not much to mess up here, but it was REALLY good; it was topped with a spicy sauce that I did not even bother trying to figure out what was in it (abnormal for me). I asked my lovely Thai waitress what I should have next. I said I was in the mood for a curry. She asked, "you like it spicy?" Hell yes I do. She recommended the green curry with chicken....WOW. I must say that I make my own curries with fresh ground spices, and this was one of the best that I've had. The coconut milk and the basil are of great quality, both being items that have to be of a good variety. As a foodie, I have to give a critique: in my curry was eggplant, and I thought leaving the skin on deducted from the texture of the dish. That's all I've got... everything else was untouchable. I never can remember the name of the garnish, but it is Thai chilis marinated in fish sauce... theirs is awesome!!! I will go there often...Almost forgot... I drank water, but all that was $18 (and I have lunch for tomorrow from the leftovers)

Only get to go here when in the area during a weekday. Wish there was a place like this closer to my neck of the woods! You pay for an entree and have access to the appetizer/salad/soup/sushi bar. Usually 2 kinds of soup and a few different sushi rolls. The salad is fresh and many different dressings to choose from. The hot appetizers are veggie egg rolls and veggie tempura and there are also spring rolls. I like to visit two times before I get my entree just cause it's really good. :) Food comes out hot and plentiful. And to me, it tastes pretty good. They share the surrounding area parking lot with Lupe Tortilla so the area is busy during lunch. But I usually end up here an hour and half before they close so I have no issues with parking, etc.

WOW! The food here is incredible! I cannot say this enough. When you go here, you order your platter and you get all access to a FREE appetizer bar. The appetizer bar has soup, sushi, salad, fruit, desert and more. The water here is crisp with fresh lemon to compliment it. I ordered Basil Fried Rice with Chicken and the flavor was unbeatable! The customer service, prices, and food are all on point. Love it here and will definitely come back.

If you are looking for authentic thai food, this is not it. Everything they make is too sweet. The Larb is supposed to be sour and you could taste the sugar. The Yam Wun Sen was bland and flavorless. We order Pad Key Mao, and got something else My wife is Thai and she was so disappointed. These people are Thai, they should know how to cook their country dishes. One star and that being generous. Go to Thai Gormet on Richmond road or Thai Lily on Dairy Ashford.

The outside look is not so fancy looking yet exquisitely alluring. It looks tiny outside yet it is huge inside. I am impressed with the design that they have a spiral staircase which adds a character to it. The bar in.the middle is perhaps about okay so they can look around and see what the customers need and who may need their service/s. Their service is quick. Customer service is more than average. Their mild hot is medium hot for me. Food is good and so enticing. I ordered a taste of basil and I devour it. Huge for one person. I had to take the rest home. One thing I love the most is its location. It's like a hole in the wall at the same time a hidden treasure. Ambience is excellent. A must visit place for those who haven't. I would love to come back again particularly this location.

Love Thai food and this place looks so cool at night under the trees with lights. Decided to come on Saturday lunch so not so busy. We ordered the soft crab appetizer, red curry (not a fave of mine),massaman curry, tiger steak (dry and not very flavorful even with the special dipping sauce, and kids pad Thai (decent- my son ate it and he's picky),ended with sweet mango sticky rice dessert! My fave were the: *soft crab- fried with a sweet n spicy sauce drizzled on top *massaman curry was perfect blend of sweet and buttery creamy texture! *sweet mango with coconut sticky rice was the bomb.com ! Perfect balance of sweet and salty! So yum! The service was great-no complaints! The hostess seated us promptly and was so sweet! The server was mellow... Not over the top aimed to please but he was respectful. The atmosphere was nice and clean. Even the restrooms too, which is always a plus, sink and toilet were low enough for my 4 year old to use the bathroom and wash his hands by himself in the women's bathroom! Lots of parking and looks like place accommodates a large amount of people! Think I'll come back for the weekday lunch specials!

I finally went here for lunch and it was absolutely amazing. Everything I hoped it would be. Got there around 11:30 before the lunch crowd picked up and parked right up front so I can't comment on the parking lot aside from saying that it appeared to accommodate the crowd. I walked in and was promptly greeted and seated, I was provided a menu at that time and I inquired about the large buffet to the right. Unlimited buffet options with a purchase of an entree!!! I can only compare this to Thai House on Eldrige. Maybe that's the Thai way... I'm down with it! The buffet included but is not limited to the following: Cream cheese eggrolls Veggie spring rolls Tempura broccoli and sweet potatoes Large Salad Bar Sushi (all wrapped with seaweed, Yuk! I wish they had something with soy paper) Two types of Soups and LOTS of sauces I was waiting for a business partner so I placed our orders for our entre before getting in line then she finally arrived and cut in. By the time we made it to our seats our food was there waiting. I had a little of everything but I believe I liked the veggie spring roll and tempura broccoli the most. I had Pad Se Ewe for my entree and I knew it was going to be delicious because it just looked amazing. There was NO WAY this dish could be bad and I was right. There were large fresh basil leafs mixed into the extra juicy noodles, broccoli, green onion and lots of fresh crisp bean sprouts. The shrimp was seared perfectly and the thick flat noodle was delicious (I won't lie a few pieces were too soft/gummy for my liking but I'm not sure if that was mushroom or noodle so I digress). To sum it up, this place was so good at lunch I'm considering calling in a to-go order while I'm in the office and heading there to pick it up before I go home. My partner had the same dish but with beef and said it was to die for. I'm not a Thai food pro so I can't say it's the best or worst but it was worth EVERY penny at $12.99. Also, they had excellent service. Lots of bus boys getting water and gathering trays from tables to return to the buffet line after cleaning them briefly. I was impressed with their operation. I saw that they opened a new location so I'm going to check that out too... maybe... I like the ambiance of this place. It was pleasant, not too noisy and you would never believe how large the place is from seeing the outside.

The taste of the food wasn't bad. I had dumplings which were small but delicious. We also tried the veggie egg rolls which we all liked. My boyfriend got the tiger cry which he liked except for all the fat. I got the yum nur which is a salad. I got it as a wedge salad my issue with the meal was the meat fat like seriously in a salad!?! Oh and I had the Thai tea which was also good. The service was great very nice. The place super clean.

Overview: My favorite Thai restaurant. I come here for lunch all the time. This place gets pretty packed during lunch. They have a complimentary appetizer bar which is awesome. The bar includes tempura vegetables, crab lagoon, salad bar, soups, and sushi. Food: - Padthai - Pretty good! - Massaman Curry - My favorite curry here. - Green Curry - Spicier that massaman, pretty good too.

Food is okay...not awsome or anything..just typical thai food (rather salty)...only thing I like about this place was pretty good size appetizer bar which is free..they even had some sushi yes! Sushi! Lol But the waitresses were rather lazy...did not really take time to explain about the food and one of them was too lazy to split the checks into three. Also, they charge for the steam rice. Yes! $3.oo bucks for a small bowl. But if you don't want to eat with rice good luck because the food is salty strongly seasoned. (Unless you prefer your food that way)

My favorite Thai restaurant in this area! The lunch special is perfect. Very economical! You also get an appetizer buffet that's included with your meal. The appetizers range from: egg rolls, spring rolls, sushi, and a few more items as well. The pad thai is delicious and you can choose your spice level too!

Decided to join coworkers for lunch since they keep telling me how great it is. It wasn't terrible, but I'm a fan of Thai House on Eldridge and I like them much, much better. Our service was very quick and attentive, we never had empty beverage glasses which is a huge "plus" for me. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and ordered it "hot", little did I know that meant some spice would be sitting on the side of my plate for me to add myself, I've never experienced that at a Thai restaurant and I've been to many. The dish was just "OK" to me, didn't seem to have that great of a flavor and I usually get much more at Thai House. I enjoyed the fried cheese rolls at the appetizer bar, those were very tasty. All in all...would I return again....not on my own, but if coworkers asked to go again, I may join them, but I may persuade them to join me at Thai House :-)

Pretty good Thai food. Not the worst by any means. I have a feeling this place is more for the Lunch crowd. We were there for dinner and almost no one was there. We started off with some egg rolls that were fried with shrimp in them and cucumbers + sweet sauce on the side. They were actually quite good We shared the Cashew Nut Chicken. Not bad, not great, sort of in between Kanomwan still has the best Thai food in Houston in my opinion

Price: amazing for what you can get!! Don't expect 5 star food though. Around $12: For lunch you pick a main dish out of a lot of different options. Vegetarian, vegan, low carb, etc.... You can probably find an option with whatever diet you are following or not following. The buffet is included in this price and has a lot of really good things. You can get sushi rolls, spring rolls, fried spring rolls, Asian soups, and even make your own American flavored salad with corn, fresh lettuce, chickpeas, ranch dressing and other fresh ingredients. If you are hungry I recommend coming to this place. You will leave satisfied. Outside decor: super cute house with huge patio and a pub next door. You don't feel like you're in Houston except for being able to see the freeway across the street. Inside might need some little updating but for the price of food I don't see this being an issue for most people. Will I go back? Yes if I'm very hungry and want unlimited buffet food and good main meal portions.

Ordered here for lunch today and wasn't impressed.. Chicken Pad Thai-- The sauce was Super sweet and the chicken was dry. I am used to spicy pad thai and i would rather go to Pei Wei for it.. House Salad-- was 4.95 and should have been $2. it was really small. The ginger dressing had alot of pepper in it, again not used to have pepper in my ginger dressing. not somewhere i will be visiting again i would rather drive a bit further to guarantee good food!

This is one of my go to lunch spots. I eat here several times a month as it is close and convenient to my job. First you better get there early as they fill up fast. If you arrive after 11:30 you most likely will be standing in a line to get in. There is a parking lot across the street so there should be no issue with that. I don't eat a lot of spicy food so I get one of their mild dishes and their salad bar. I have worked in this area for several years and I am mad with myself as it has taken me so long before I visited. The service is pretty quick for a lunch venue and their prices are inline for this time of place. This is a place that I visit regularly and I tend to be a creature of habit and order the same thing, so I would recommend this place to eat and maybe you may want to try different things especially if you are into Thai food.

This place was pretty good, especially for lunch, luckily they have parking across the street since they were packed. The Free buffet with any entree was enticing and I was full before the meal came (a good thing) ! Buffet had salads, basic sushi rolls, 2 soups, and a small dessert. Our server wanted to get us outta there pretty quickly since it was packed, so she sucked, otherwise I woulda given it a 5.

I love Thai food and this place is just amazing! Their complimentary appetizer bar (during lunch only) is great. It has veggie rolls, or some days cheese rolls, which are so tasty! I got Pad Thai with shrimp today. It was delicious! I can't wait to come back!

I've driven by this place for years and always wanted to go... Finally did and my only regret was not going sooner. The place is off the highway in a little cozy area that has a pub next door to enjoy a drink after dinner and is perfect for a date night. I absolutely love curry and this place has the best I've had in Houston. The flavors in their dish aren't overpowering so you can really taste the curry flavor. The portion size is great. I even had enough left to take home to enjoy later.

I typically turn my nose up to any place that tries to mix two unrelated cuisines in its name. Thai AND sushi? Are they mad? Well... I recall one of my favorite burgers being from a place called "Best Burger & Fried Rice" so I gave Ginger Thai & Sushi a chance... I was not disappointed. I arrived at noon and was happy to see open tables abroad. I was promptly perched at the sushi bar. Although the restaurant is bustling, the waitstaff seems to be on point. During lunch they offer "Curry of the Day". I requested to have the red curry instead of the yellow curry (COTD) and they swapped it out for me. The appetizer bar was a lot more delicious than I'd anticipated. The heating lamps worried me a bit, but the petri dish buffet did not stop me from trying everything (except for the sushi). I loved the egg rolls, tempura, the salad with my choice of ginger dressing, and the delicious tom kha gai soup. There is something very homemade about the soups and I could have filled up on the appetizer bar alone. My food's arrival could not have been timed better. The red curry was piping hot and sat next to an extra large mound of rice. Two words of warning... 1. The curry is stupid hot. Temperature hot. I burnt my tongue several times before giving up and letting it cool down. 2. The curry is stupid hot. SPICY hot. My mouth was on fire and fanning yourself in public is not cute. I enjoyed about 1/4 of the delicious red curry before I called it quits. Parking is a cinch because of their private lot. Had I known this, I wouldn't have parked 2 blocks away at Lupe Tortilla. The prices are a bit steep, with lunch specials being around $11 or $12, but that's a small price to pay to get a more than decent Thai fix. I didn't mess with their sketchy sushi, and the curry was so good that I totally forgive them for weird hodgepodge of food. Just stay away from the sushi, and stick with the Thai food. You'll be "burning" for more before you know it.

Not what we expected. We were very rushed by the servers who let us know they were 'cleaning' the appetizer buffet at 3. My pad Thai had 3 small pieces of beef and a few vegetables. I don't think I will be returning.

If you leave this place hungry, it's your own fault!!! Every meal comes with a trip to the buffet appetizer bar, complete with salad, soup, and fruit. My all time favorite lunch special is the L14 - Chili Tilapia. It's a very fresh piece of fish, lightly fried to a crispy outside, and gently braised in a sweet and spicy chili sauce. I've also enjoyed almost every curry of the day. I'd recommend trying Thursday's "Panang Curry" - it's spicy, sweet, creamy, and you can put it on anything to add a great flavor. My preference is chicken, then use the curry sauce on the rice to give it a little zip!

I've heard this place recommended a few times so I had high hopes, but it fell flat. The appetizer buffet concept is awesome...you can load up on cheese rolls, spring rolls, salad, tom yum. There are plenty of salad dressings and dipping sauces as well. That was probably my favorite part of the meal. I had pad kee Mao and it was lackluster. It did not taste fresh so it was not very enjoyable to eat. One of the guy's orders at our table of 10 didn't get placed and they told him he'd essentially have to get behind 20 other diners' orders (everyone else at the table already had their food). That's pretty messed up, so I wouldn't recommend it for a big group if you're on a time crunch. Anyway I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, bottom line.

Decent lunch spot with most specials running about $10 bucks + coupled with the appetizer buffet and I think Ginger Thai is winning. I tried the L13 spicy seafood and as much as I love spicy food, the heat on that bad boy was nothing nice. Don't think I'll be ordering that again. it was good though so if you have a higher threshold, I say go for it. FYI, the L7 original fried rice with chicken was a table winner as well. I've also tried the flash fried tilapia filet. It was really yummy but a bit on the smallish side. As far as the appetizer buffet goes, it was alright. Thin fried veg rolls, thin spring rolls, fried banana (very good but I took out some of the middle b/c it's a bit too mushy; I'm a firm banana lover), salad with a good amount of toppers, soups, and some sushi. But as a serious sushi lover, it just didn't look appetizing at all. The table service was good every time I've gone, no complaints. Tip: Whatever you do, don't miss out on the Thai tea...it's on point and oooh weeee delicious!

Ginger Thai is the only place that can satisfy my spicy craving! I have to have it at least once a week! I always get the chicken green curry and papaya salad both extra extra EXTRA spicy! Minus one star because the green curry's consistency can be off sometimes, some days it's super watery but other that I'm always happy with my order!

They have the best Red Curry! Many of there other dishes are great. But I just can't ever say no to the Red Curry. If you like it a bit more spicy I recommend asking for it thai hot. Also a great place for a work lunch! But definitely get the red curry!

Started out okay with an appetizer buffet, but when the entrees came out, my pad thai tasted like how wet dogs smell and my boyfriend's L7 (I don't remember what it was) tasted way too sweet. I asked to swap out my pad thai for something, and the waiter let me. He handled this very professionally. However, I got my cashew chicken, and it was still mostly inedible. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Quaint little Thai restaurant in the Energy Corridor area. Friendly and attentive staff. The food itself was good but lacking that extra spice i was looking for...maybe i should have specified spicy Pad Kee Mao. Same for my dining mates, they too felt the spice was missing. Overall, I'll try this place again, and will ask for some oomph to my Pad

We love ocming here when the weather is nice enough to have supper outside! Ginger Thai has a few tables outside in the same area as Watson's. SO when there is live music playing, you can definitely enjoy the tunes from your table ;) We have played a few games of Scrabble here. Not often can you go to an Asian food establishment and linger and not get dirty looks from the server! It's laid back :) There is a sushi bar inside . . . I have only had the kani from the bar. I come here for three little words: Thai Chicken Wings. Yup! There is something about them. I love love love them. I like to dip them in the crazy hot fish sauce with all of the tiny little thai peppers floating about. sooo good! We've had the green curry and Thai basil dishes . . . it is good as well . . . not the best that Houston has to offer, but I will always come back for those wings! They make one more appetizer that other Thai places don't have. They call it "paper shrimp." I guess becuase of the egg roll paper around it. But it is pretty delicious! A shrimp with chicken paste stuffed inside of it and then rolled and fried to golden perfection! YUM!

Went around 1pm and it was empty! The appetizer buffet was great! Actually way better than our meal. The buffet had salad, soup, sushi, and random fried things. Very good! When our meal came, we were kind of let down. My Basil Chicken had no spice and my coworkers shrimp were just fried and smothered in sauce. I want to come again.. but maybe just to get the appetizers!

Lunch is a great time to visit (M-F). There is an appetizer buffet for those who like quantity, but I actually have enjoyed both the Tom Yum Kai and Tom Kaa Kai soups which alternate on the buffet selections The lunch specials are a nice deal and the portions are large enough where I actually make it into two meals. You'll want to get here before noon if you don't want to wait for a table. Service is quick though. I usually order the Lard Naa (not on the menu, but you can still order it). I like that they actually have Chinese Broccoli, unlike a lot of Thai restaurants that only use regular broccoli.

This is a good lunch area. You need to go before or after the lunch rush or else you will be waiting for a seat and drinks for a long time. When they sit you and get your drinks you can get an assortment of essentially buffet appetizers. I love this idea. Then your food comes out after you finish your meal. The customer service efficiency could be better but the price is fair. Personally, it just takes too long. My longest lunch there was 2 - 2.5 hours.

Solid Thai lunch option right in the heart of the Energy Corridor. For right around $10, you can get a good-sized (too much for me!) main dish with an appetizer buffet. The buffet includes veggie rolls, spring rolls, some form on tempura banana or veggies, salad and toppings, a few different types of soups, 3 or 4 different sushi rolls and dessert. Not a bad deal! Not exactly a place to go if you're trying to keep it healthy, those tempura veggies and whatever crunchy sushi roll that's available are entirely way too tempting, but hey, a splurge every now and then didn't kill anyone! The food won't blow you away by any means, but it's pretty darn good. Warning, it fills ups at lunch, so definitely get there before 12 if you're in a hurry! Parking is fairly simple, Ginger Thai has a decent number of spots reserved plus the gravel lot across the street.

This place is a decent lunch find in the energy cooridor. It subscribes to the fascination here with including a free all you can eat appetizer buffet to start your meal, that has a nice mix of some low grade sushi, soups, and the usual apps you'd find in a thai establishment. The service is decent, albiet a bit short and the food is cheap and satisfying. They cater to the lunch crowd, so if you're for lunch expect a short condensed menu, with just enough options but not a lot of variety. The food will come out quick, but don't expect to be blown out of the water by it. And oh...there may be a line.

One of my favorite Thai places so far. I am an inner looper and venturing outside is not on the top of my list usually, but I could see myself making the trek out here again! I took a couple clients here that are huge Thai food fans and they loved it! They have a great lunch menu that begins with an appetizer buffet...included in your lunch special! After you order yummy curry or basil chicken...head up to the appetizer buffet and load up on soft and crispy spring rolls, soups, fruit, salad, and even a few sushi choices. The food comes fairly quick. I had the peanut chicken. Other dishes at my table were the daily curry (red curry on Wednesdays) and the ginger chicken. All were as good as they looked! The lunch portions aren't huge which is nice, plus you have the appetizer buffet to fill you up too! Parking can be tricky because of its location. It gets CRAZY crowded in this area for lunch, so beware! I only went for lunch, but I think I could venture out and scope their dinner selections! I am sure they are delicious!

This is a great lunch spot. They have a buffet of appetizers and soups (Tom Yum is delicious) that come with the lunch entree. Service is always quick and friendly. The pineapple fried rice is one of my favorites from their menu. The green and yellow curry are also winners. Do not miss the sticky rice with mango when it is in season. It can be crowded at lunch so plan accordingly.

We have loved this place for a few years. Until our last visit when the waiter ran our card for stuff we did not want. It was a to go order and we paid before the food was ready. He made us take items we didn't want and after we paid we got food that was beyond spicy. It was unbearable and we can tolerate spicy, hailing from Baton Rouge and loving hot sauce. It seemed intentionally too hot. We have decided not to return to this establishment.

For those of you in the Energy Corridor, the food here is excellent! (Please note that I do not consider this a full review as I did not dine in; I'm reviewing only the food as I did Take Out.) As with most new Thai places I try, I stick to the basics. If the basics are good, then on repeat visits I will venture out. So, what did I order? Come on -- you don't know me by now!? :) - Pad Thai - Pad Kee-Mao - Chicken Sa-tay All three were excellent. Pad Kee-Mao was spicy (as ordered) and the Pad Thai was delicious. Additionally the service was good, but limited given that it was take out. I am looking forward to eating here again!

I tried this place out for the first time today with co-workers and funny thing...the Ludacris song "Move B*, Get Out Da Way" played in my head while I indulged in the appetizer bar and the Pad Se-Ewe I ordered. Not necessarily me being the person in the song...but more that I could see Ginger Thai singing this to Nit Noi...because Ginger Thai just knocked them way-way down on my list of places to go eat for lunch. How come it's taken me so long to discover this place?? But so glad I did. Greeted promptly at the door and seated. After ordering, we ventured over to the appetizer bar that has so many goodies other Yelpers have already mentioned - salad, soups, sushi, egg rolls, spring rolls, and more! The portions were just right (might not be as big as some other places, but everything tasted amazing). Thanks to the review from Knox K., my co-worker got the Pad Kee-Mao and really liked it! It is a little pricier than other Thai lunch spots I've been to, but again, you're paying for endless appetizers and other goodies. Will definitely go back!

WORST PLACE EVER!! I went to have lunch here with 2 of my co-workers. The place had good reviews and we decided to check it out. I ordered the cashew Chicken because my stomach cant handle much seafood. When I received my food, it looked presentable but when i tasted the food it tasted like shrimp. I tried to eat the food but my stomach did not agree. I called the manager over to ask her if i can just send back the food and she said she would take it back and charge me for the salad bar because i had a small little plate of salad, which is $8.95. I was highly upset! i then called her back over and told her im not paying for this and she told me that they have to charge for a throw away fee! I walked out paying $4.33 for a few pieces of lettuce and a very unhappy customer. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.
