Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Great location but that's about it. xtremely small burgers for the price. If you're going to charge $7-10 for a burger make it bigger than a McDonald's kids meal burger.

This place is awesome! Bacon and Swiss big hat is the way to go! Try the UFO seasonal beer they have on tap! Yum yum yummy. I am so full

Love this place! Burgers are delicious and made with all natural beef. They have live Music on the patio on Friday nights and offer $2 draft beers. Get the combo (burger, fries and a beer) for around $6 - its a great deal! Also their breakfast sandwiches are delicious too!

Yeah, not so good. I had not heard anything about this place, but I have passed it several times. This afternoon, I decided to stop in. I was quite disappointed. The best thing I can say, well, thingS I can say, are: the woman behind the counter was super awesome and helpful, and the outside patio and playground was way cool. I wish I had my kids with me. I ordered a Big Hat with bacon. I thought it would be a decent sized burger. It was a burger with two patties, each about the size of a kids burger at McDonald's. I also had fries and a drink. The bill came to about $11.00, which I thought was ok if I was going to get a nice sized burger. The food came out and i opened up my burger, and I about threw it at the counter lady. $11.00 for a three bite sandwich? You have got to be kidding me!!!! Just look at the below pictures. I was angry. I ate the burger. It was average. There is no way I will ever be going back to this place, except maybe to play a joke on my out of town friends. If you want a real burger, go someplace else. Even McDonald's would be better.

I just had a grain burger, silly me thinking it would be a grain fed beef burger, I have a new favorite and I may never want another burger any other way, this is DIVINE!!!!!!!

Went back again today. Had the same burger. JUST AS AWESOME. I'm telling you, it's that good.

  • Patrick M.

This is exactly what Georgetown needed! The burgers were good, not the best ever, but good. Fries and fried pickles were ok. But they had beer on tap, and kid approved play area. I'm sold. If you don't like kids, or just want to eat in a quite place, go somewhere else. If your looking for burger heaven, go somewhere else. If you just want your kids to leave you alone for ten minutes, while you and your spouse/friends enjoy a drink and edible food, this is your spot.

This place is awesome if you have kids! The outdoor play area is really nice, lots of shade from the trees and you can see your kid from anywhere while outside. We went on a weekend, at lunch and good gracious... Wild little ones running everywhere! Not complaining at all, I loved that the kids could go crazy and the parents could eat their food while still warm and watching their kids. Of course some parents just booted their kids out while they ate inside (to each their own) and older kids were throwing a football across all the little kids and picnic tables... I got hit in the head with it, and so did a couple other smaller kids. You also cannot hear the speaker outside even though all the staff said you could? Again, I'm not complaining about the kids being kids, but be prepared to take on the babysitter role for the kids whose parents are inside and not controlling them. I'm not one to lecture someone else's kid, but after a couple of the little kids got a football to the face, I asked the older kids if they could move to the lower part of the play area that had no little ones. They did with no complaint either :) The food was really good and reasonably priced for the quality which I felt was pretty darn good. The fried pickles... I could hurt myself on those! YUMMY! I love that they have a sauce bar area, there is something for everyone. We absolutely will be going back!

  • Brent H.

Food was good, but nothing special. Decent atmosphere (pretty casual and basic). Outdoor side is pretty cool. Looking forward to taking my kid out there. If you're looking for a burger, I've had better, but I've had worse.

  • Rachel M.

Hat Creek is OK. It's kind of pricey for a fast food restaurant (2 burgers, fries, and drinks = $20), but the quality is better than McDonalds. The best things about Hat Creek are they have a veggie burger and they have a drive thru. Can't beat that! Oh, and their milkshakes are pretty good, too.

FIVE Stars for atmosphere and personality Had the turkey burger, yum! Love a burger place that offers turkey burgers. Staff was great, the overall place was very nice. Great curb appeal.

I was staying with a friend and her husband picked up HC on the way home from work. I ordered the Signature Burger - looked great! Although the description on the menu only includes cheese, sauce, and sauerkraut, I wasn't expecting those three things to be the ONLY things on the burger. Kinda surprised by that. But it was good - the sauerkraut had a good flavor. The fries were really good - really crunchy. The pickles were clearly homemade and the peppery batter was great. A must-try. Overall it was a good experience from HC. I'd go back if I'm in town again.

We've been here a couple times now. The kids love the slide! I love their sweet potato fries and sauces. It's a bit pricey so we don't come often. Their burgers are good, not awesome but not terrible either. I recently tried their grilled chicken sandwich and it was really yummy! Very family friendly and plenty of room inside and out to eat.

  • Steve V.

The food is good. It's a typical burger chain joint that is nicer than fast foot. It caters towards the families with small kids. It's busy but has horrible parking. It has maybe half the size parking needed. Worst part is there is no additional parking anywhere near by. For me, I dread coming to just dur to parking. I'd rather eat elsewhere. It's a shame because food is okay...

Food was great and the service was fast. Amazing dip sauce bar for your chicken fries or anything.

Hats off to Hat Creek for a job well done! Too much? Oh well... Anyway...short wait in line behind a few other families, then greeted with an enthusiastic smile and great attitude from the guy taking our order. He seemed to be happy to be there, which was refreshing. Then on to the table to wait. They have an awesome play area, so we sent our 4 1/2 year old and her "boyfriend" (jeez) out to play. They had a blast! The play area alone probably assured a return visit by occupying the kiddos and giving us some time to chat with our friends. It is probably the best playground I've seen at a burger joint. Burgers were ready in about 8 minutes, which was fine. I ordered a "Big Hat" with pepper jack and some fried onion scoops. Burger was very good, with nice flavor and a tasty mustard type sauce called Happy Sauce. Burger came with red onions rather than yellow, which I think is (or should be) a cardinal sin. I let it slide. Onion scoops were okay, but probably lost them a 1/2 star. Would probably order Fries next time (wife said they were good). The friends we went with ordered shakes after the burgers which they said were also very good. Overall, a great place to take the family, grab a tasty burger and a killer shake. We will definitely be back soon!

  • D B.

I have been here multiple times. Very consistent. The chicken flashers are gluten free. There are 3 sauces to choose from that you can add to your burger. Or simply dip your chicken and fries in!

  • Lisa H.

Had a mediocre burger last time. They made it right this time! Yum! Fried pickles were awesome.

    (5)
  • Jo Y.

A little nicer than the average fast food burger joint with good service. However, We've eaten here twice and both times we were underwhelmed with the food. Soggy fries, average/below average burgers for a pretty hefty price. Truly nothing to write home about. We won't be returning.

  • Joy R.

This is our second visit here. My biggest issue is them not bringing all the food out hot. We ordered two sandwiches and fries. Only one sandwich was hot. I don't get it. Were the fries old? Did the other sandwich sit around while you cooked the second one? The fry sauces are all good and the food is made to order but I like my food hot enough to burn my mouth for first few minutes. I think most people probably do. We will probably try another place in Georgetown next time to see if they can serve hot food.

  • Kellyann K.

Their burgers are pretty good, I like that I can customize them to have mushrooms and onions but dang their fries are awesome. And the dipping sauces- yum! The location is nice, it is nice sitting in the screened in porch when it is nice outside. Overall, good burgers, awesome fries, good laid back ambiance and good prices!

  • Brandi L.

Fantastic play area. Great service. Mediocre food. Terrible wine. It's one of my favorite places to go with kids because of the play area and the gluten free chicken, but I wouldn't go here just for me or without kids. The fries are not too good really, but when you dip them in the fry or happy sauce...that stuff would make anything good. I like to get a lettuce burger with grilled onions, avocado and happy sauce. It's pretty good, but still lacking seasoning, I think that's really their only problem, everything is pretty bland and too simple without the sauces. But they have awesome huge, thick iceburg lettice wrapped around the burgers, makes it easy to go without a bun.

    (4)
  • Ben C.

Pretty good burger! I will be back! I gave them four stars because the drive thru wasn't open. The bun was toasted and the onions were grilled perfectly. Veggies were fresh and mustard was spread evenly on bun. Fries were good (I found a few soggy ones) and very similar to P Terry's.

  • Colleen C.

We watched this place go up as we drove by on our way to the Bark Park and only recently were finally able to try this location. What a great spot! I cant wait to enjoy that patio. We tried the breakfast tacos and they were very delicious, not cheap but you get what you pay for. Good tortillas, fresh ingredients, yum! I have always liked the burgers at the Burnet location and I will be eating plenty of them at this one I am sure. I appreciate the quality ingredients.

  • Cassie B.

We LOVE this place. The "trifecta"-a third each of onion chips, pickle chips & fries is so yummy! My husband & I can enjoy a burger & a beer while the kids in turn play on the playground & eat dinner! The staff is always super friendly & it's kept very clean even though they are pretty much always busy.

  • Amanda A.

This place always looks packed, so we had to give it a try. I can see why! The food was great, fresh and affordable. Plus- a place for the kids to Play!!! We enjoyed it and look forward to going back.

Seems like this place has gone down hill a bit since we first visited in fall of last year. Still decent quality burger and good play area for the kids but way understaffed on a weekday night. The whole operation ground to a halt whenever we ordered an alcoholic beverage because they staffed the register with a 17 year old and she had a call a manager back to take payment (it's the law, OK, but staff accordingly in the evening). There were three families in the whole place and it took a solid ten minutes to get one beer and one wine out, then another ten minutes for the food. Too long. It's expensive for what it is. I have to talk about the beer. I'm not a beer snob, although I do know a hefeweizen from a pilsner and a Kolsch from a Saison...but that's only because I lived in Oregon and traveled Belgium and Germany a bit for work. I can still drink a Shiner and not complain...or even a Bud light in a pinch. BUT...But...but. This beer program is hilariously bad. When you are a burger joint you STICK TO THE BASICS! Do an Amber, do a pilsner, do a Stout, maybe an IPA, OK. Do not decide that you alone are going to bring a Belgian beer renaissance to Austin and offer your customers no alternative. Barley wine? Saison? Dubbel? ALT? Come on! Your beers were weirdly sour, wrongly sweet, and just bad bad bad. Stick to the basics. Rein your brewmaster /beer wholesaler in, ASAP.

Stopped by here on an early Sunday morning after church. We went to an 8 am mass so we just missed breakfast but were there right as lunch service started .. at 10 am? hmmm even McDonalds serves breakfast till 1030 on weekends. Ah well. I am on a get healthy kick so ordered the grilled chicken salad .. really good. I enjoyed it but the cheeseburger my husband ordered looked better! It was kinda small especially for a grown man. For a little extra you can sub fries for fried pickles.... what? They rocked I cant wait to drop the next 5 lbs so I can come by for some fried pickles and a brew.

I really wish I could've given this place a better rating, but alas, I'm giving this 2-stars. When I pulled in to the parking lot and saw the nifty building design, I had high hopes. The novelty of this new local restaurant drew me in. Other than the great locale, interesting building design, and kid-friendly play area, the place fell short with its food. To get right to the food: I was pleasantly surprised to find that the burgers were small - not your oversized monsters that you'll find at Red Robin, Burger University, or Carl's Jr. Others may find it disappointing, but I was relieved that I wasn't going to be battling a ginormous burger that was threatening to eat MY face as I tried to bite into it. Nope, these were small normal sized burgers. The Small Hat burger is just one patty, whereas the Big Hat burger is two patties - same size buns for both sizes My initial impression was that if you're getting small burgers like these, the meat must be awesome. I was surprised to find my basic burger to be flavorless. Completely memorable in the fact that the burger was UNmemorable. I tried their three different seemingly-mayo based house sauces and I was still completely underwhelmed. Husband had the Jalapeno Sauerkraut in his burger, and the sauerkraut was the only saving grace of his burger. I came to the realization that the condiments were the only thing allowing me to finish the burger - well, that and I was hungry. Ever tried eating a burger with a frown and furrowed brow? Yeah, that was me. I love fried pickles. Whenever I see fried pickles on a menu, I get them. Well, imagine my excitement seeing them on the menu. I was so wholly disappointed that I just couldn't finish my side order of fried pickles. They were so over-breaded that instead of being crisp and tart, I was perplexed to find them...chewy. I dabbled in a little Systems Engineering back in the day, and I was surprised at how poorly designed the setup is - neither optimal nor efficient. When you walk in, you can't see the menu until you actually get up to the front at the registers when you place your order. Other places have the menus posted on the wall, or have small menu handouts so you can read while you wait in line. So a lot of time is wasted because people are actually trying to figure out their order at the register. I was hemming and hawing up front because I didn't know what they served. The waiting area also doubles as the drinks and condiments area, so it can get crowded at some point - prepare for jostling as people try to figure out getting in line to get their drinks and sauces. The indoor seating is cramped, like they put too many tables into too small of a space in an effort to maximize seating. You're better off with the outdoor patio assuming the weather is good. I was further confuzzled when I saw the parking lot - the parking lot was huge and disproportionate compared to the physical square footage area for seating. Eh? I really want to like this place, but my first experience fell short. Loved the locale, design, and family-friendly environment. I was really impressed that they maintained a beautiful old and sprawling tree in the play environment rather than razing it to the ground during construction - so I was truly grateful that someone was environmentally-conscious of that decision. The outdoor seating design is quite nice and refreshing. The place was surprisingly clean too. The bathrooms were well-kept, and they consistently had workers diligently wiping down tables as soon as customers departed. Next time, if I crave a tasty reliable burger, I'll just go to Carl's Jr.

Decent burger, if a bit pricey. Soggy fries.

I had the jalapeno sauerkraut burger and it was pretty decent. The style of burger and fry is very similar to P.Terry's but there are a lot more options. The sauce bar is a nice touch though there is not a huge difference between the 3 sauces- all creamy with various levels of tangy. This place really rates more of a 3.5 but its unique enough to get a 4. It just didn't taste as juicy and fresh as the competition, and the price was a little high for the size of the burger. I didn't personally observe any of the cleanliness issues detailed in the other reviews but I never saw any staff come into the dining room to straighten things up during our visit and the ice machine seemed to be struggling to keep up with demand. They seem like they are crowded a lot so you think they'd have a system in place to deal with the rush by now. There is a lot of competition for burgers but its definitely worth trying at least once. The shakes sound really awesome so I will very likely be returning.

I was really looking forward to checking this place out! My husband order the big hat burger!!! He thought it was a kids meal!!!The burger had no taste!!! It's over price and horrible parking . The only thing good about this place is the playscape. Don't waste your time just go to Whataburger or Mighty Fine!!

  • Aunt S.

Decided to try this new burger place after seeing the outside construction. Was expecting a sit down type lunch place but just another fast food joint and pricey!! 2.99 for a "where's the beef" well done burger. Add $1 if you want bacon?? The flavor was good but for 1/2 the price so is Burger King flame grilled. Fries - eh - okay but I've had better. Atmosphere - really plywood paneling??? The outside eating area looks neat but not much on menu, and what's with the weird order counters??? Mostly I can just say unimpressed. There are way too many good burger places - they need to step it up.

I wanted to love it, but I don't. We tried Hat Creek at the Georgetown location on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. First, I hated the parking lot. I was awkward, and at night, it made no sense. Second, I hated the ordering process. They had two (I think) stations turned sideways with no counter. It was awkward. The space between the divider and the register was so narrow that I got elbowed by accident as someone was trying to make their way out of the ordering area. It is almost like the register setup was an afterthought, and it was 100% annoying. Third, they had these weird screen doors separating the condiment/ordering area from the dining room. It was awkward. Fourth, the actual dining area was SMALL. It was a pretty busy night and I accidentally hit a lady in the head with my purse because the tables were that close to each other. There was an outdoor seating area that was much roomier, but I don't have small children. I won't be motivated to eat outside so they can play, you know? I hated the indoor vibe. It was just, you guessed it, awkward. The burgers were okay. I had a little hat. My husband and son had the big hats. I hated their proprietary pickles. I believe they're supposed to be dill, but were more like flimsy sweet pickles *gag*. Their fries were inedible. They are similar to the fries at Mighty Fine, except poorly executed. They are not being cooked at the proper temperature. I would guess their fry cooks are not waiting for the oil to come back to temperature in order to shove as many fries out the door. They were an oily, flimsy, under cooked mess. Me and my son did not eat ours. I think our family will stick to Burger University and Mighty Fine. There will be an In and Out at the outlet mall soon, so there are plenty of burger choices. It was not my kind of burger. They're on the pricier side for what you get.

We thought we'd try Hat Creek after hearing that the burgers were good. Actually, not so great. The burgers are dry and not as good as McDonalds. Frankly, we were expecting better. Hamburger University on the Georgetown Square has a better burger. We also did not like the ordering, going to our seats, then returning for the order. Too many flies in the seating area. The staff is friendly, though the table were we sat was sticky. Folks: need to rinse that rag once in a while. The children's play area has a long slide, but the area adjacent is a large area of mulch. They do offer wine and beer. We tried the wine: we knew this wasn't the Four Seasons, but the Chardonnay was blah. And the parking is confusing with the separate lot. We won't return.

The burger was small has the premade feel vs homemade fresh. This will be great in summer for beer on the patio. As a current fan of Burger University for their endless cheese and awesome sweet potato fries. Hat creek had nothing exciting to offer, it has a fast food feel. When the shirts say pickle company I was arrogantly expecting awesome pickles. I was wrong. And no free pickle spears anywhere. Will try this place again the summer maybe the beer will make it better. **the staff is friendly and happy and keeps the place very clean***

I had the veggie burger/grain burger. It was good and well prepared. I am pleased to find a restaurant in Georgetown that makes veggie burgers. The atmosphere is unique and pleasant. The order of fries was huge (enough for two people). The staff were very polite and helpful. For a "burger place", we were happy with it and will go back again.

Burgers are tiny. Ordering system takes forever. Very family friendly restaurant (READ--overrun with children). It's extremely loud inside. If you want to eat a burger in peace, consider sitting outside in the play area. Yes, it's also overrun by children but at least the screaming is more bearable than inside. Food wasn't terrible...just small. Regular fries are yummy!

Not impressed with Hat Creek at all. The food was dull and just blah. We went with several other families so our young kids could slide and play which was nice. They do have a large slide that the kids absolutely loved. The guys said the beer was well above par which is good but just from the food stand point, I don't care to go back. We got 2 burger meals which included fries and a drink as well as a kids small burger which cost about $28.

3 1/2 stars but rounding up because the staff is friendly, kids love playing here and they offer a military discount! Burgers were good if somewhat on the small side; would compare them to Whataburger (which isn't a bad thing) only smaller. Went with the regular burger and fries combo; burger was good with a little crust on it for crunch. Fries were the highlight; think Five Guys but more shoe-stringish (is that a word). Bottom line, unique place for Georgetown; food is good, fun for the kids (they do serve beer so good for adults) and easy on the wallet.

This wannabe barnyard is your typical suburban burger joint pandering to families. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with suburban burger joints. My problem here is, for the price, this place falls totally flat. For a big hat, fries, and a drink I was looking at almost twenty dollars a person. To add insult to injury, they charge you for cheese. Not EXTRA cheese, but any cheese. Really? Are they subsidizing their slide or something? Anyway, the burger tasted bland even with my toll cheese. The bottom part of my bun was soggy before I took the first bite and the patty tasted dry. As for the shake, I ordered the dirt worm which was supposed to have crushed Oreos and gummy worms. To my amusement, there were hardly any Oreos used and the clerk stuck two worms on top and handed it to me. Not impressed. I'm all for a great local burger joint, but this isn't it. Instead, this is hipster Fuddrucker's with a an extra slice of mediocre. You're way better off at Hopdoddy's.

Breakfast tacos are okay but nothing special. However, they are way overpriced. The counter help told me it was because of using organic ingredients. I replied that even so that was double what I would pay elsewhere. Unfortunately, he chose to be smug and condescending rather than choosing civility. Next time I will be driving about 5 more blocks to Dos Salsas for a better and less expensive taco where I am treated with respect. It's sad because their food is good but the help and price really drops my rating

Went with the special burger and wasn't disappointed. It was tasty, fresh and the sweet potato fries were delicious. The staff was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere is great here. I love the choice of sauces and the fact that there's live music out on the patio. I will happily return.

fast, courteous, great food. Took about 7 minutes for our food to be ready. Sophie and I ordered a Top Hat and Gracie ordered a Little Hat. Burgers were made to perfection with fresh ingredients, not packaged. Burger size was acceptable and not too greasy. My cheese melted. ordered another top hat to go which was ready in about 5 minutes. Dinner crowd was sparse and not loud. Overall a pleasant visit. Will definitely return.

Not impressed. The place itself looks good, unique cool all that. The food however, haha...no. This place is a lil pricey for a burger not much bigger then a mcdouble.

With all the burger joints popping up all over you got to bring something special to get more than 3 stars. Burgers are fresh but 1/5 pound of meat on a three dollar burger is pushing it. No air conditioning is a big negative.

I've eaten here about a dozen times. I get one pattie turkey and one pattie meat with a lettuce wrap instead of bread. It is juicy, fantastic and runs down my hands every time. Love the food and the service. The sauces can't be beat.

Their burgers are tasty, juicy, cooked just right. Good assortment of toppings. Comes out pretty quickly. Fries are pretty good too. Prices are fair too.

Questionable sanitary practices to say the least. The food is ok, it would certainly earn 3 stars on it's own. 4 if it was priced a bit better or was 100 percent organic. However, I have to question the sanitary practices of the restaurant. When I was waiting to order, the cashier was sweeping the floor. She noticed me and put down her broom and and started to take my order. I was taken aback because she did not wash her hands. But I ordered, figuring that she was not actually making my food. Then she handed my my drink cup, and I realized that her hands, which were just picking up trash, would now be touching the cup that was about to go into my mouth. I asked her if I could have a cup that she did not touch, because she did not wash her hands. She thought it was funny and handed me another cup. I actually asked her, if I could reach over and grab one. I thought the whole, you didn't wash your hands comment, would be a V8 moment for her, and that she would say OMG I'm so sorry, I should have washed my hands. But no, in horror I watched her deliver food to people's tables, make shakes, etc with dirty hands. UGH!!!! PLEASE FIX THIS HAT CREEK. THIS WAS GROSS!!!!! I edited this review to lower it to 1 star from 2. I observed her making fries. EXXXXXXXXTRA gross.

One of the nastiest veggie burgers I've ever had. It was hard to chew and the texture made me gag, for 13 bucks I would have rather drove the extra 20 minutes to Hopdoddys. The fries were both really burnt and soggy (which like how does that even happen?????). Not ever coming back.

Nothing super special here....family place ..sure. Take the kiddos there plenty of play room outside.... Big open feel. Burger was good enough....they do have wine..heck yes. Best thing I found was all the diff sauces in the condiment station. Really nice people who work here tho

This is a giant Playland. You will be running to get a vasectomy. Unruly kids everywhere and a hundred of them. Maybe I'll come by and get to atleast order during the day.

I really want to like this place. I have a preschool age child so on a nice day or night it is a great place to enjoy the yard. There are always a ton of kids but she loves the slide and we can walk down to see the river. If it weren't for the yard and slide though, we would never eat here. The burgers are not as good as some other simiar local joints, and they are more expensive. The kid burger is a joke at $2. My 3 year old even comment that it was small, and my husband couldn't believe we had to pay for something of that size. Probably won't be back unless the revamp the food.

This was my first time coming to Hat Creek. I thought it was weird that there isn't a counter between you and the cashier. It was weirdly intimate, as if this person was a friend having a casual conversation with me about whether or not I wanted mustard on my burger. It was pretty jarring. Despite the intimacy of the interaction with the cashier, he managed to mishear my name, which was a little confusing when the person with our food came out and called the name on the order. I ordered the grain burger (the vegetarian burger option). My sister got a big hat. The grain burger tasted pretty bland, and the burgers were both pretty small. I felt that the prices were too high for the size/quality of the food. It is basically a glorified McDonalds. I had the sweet potato fries and they were okay. Everything was greasy, and it made me feel kind of gross. The music was okay and it was pretty nice/clean. I didn't get a chance to go on the slide.

Take your $8 and buy yourself a sonic double cheeseburger, GOOD sonic fries, and FRESH route 44 sonic tea AND dessert, and drive away happier without the "atmosphere" and crowds. Yeah it sounds like an ad for sonic, thats because sonic kicks hat creeks bunghole.

Local sourced food. Made to order hamburgers. Simply at the time of this review the best hamburger in Georgetown. The drive thru makes things very easy. Sitting inside can be hard to find on the weekends but you are there for the food. Their buns are local baked and not generic air filled wonder bread. Their fries are excellent. Again the best burger in Georgetown cooked anyway you want it.

  • Forrest M.

Picked the smallest burger/fries combo, for $8.50 (w/cherry limeade) and would have received better - for half the price - just a block away at Sonic. Oh so overpriced. Better burgers at Burger University (on the square) or Hardtails (across IH35). Georgetown needs good burger joints, granted, but not at this price!

If it hadn't have been for the outdoor play area for the kids I would have given 1 star for food. We love the outdoor area! It's great for kids to get energy out and meet new friends. There is nothing like this in GT for the kids to play and parents to visit. They offer a small selection of wine $6.99/ glass and beer $3.99/draft, a little pricy for this place. The food... I hate to say... not flavorful! The best items for us were the flashers, love that they are gluten free but taste blah- please add some spices! Fries were limp, greasy and soggy. I tried the veggie burger and it was awful, crunchy and hard pieces in patty. Hubby liked the fried onions but mentioned they were greasy. He also liked the milk shake, it was good! He was not impressed with the burger, said it was just flavorless. Overall great place for kids and shakes!

It's a new hamburger place and wanted to try it. Had a regular burger and my husband had the chicken sandwich both with fries. We didn't like them. My bun was toasted but hard, like it was yesterday's bun. Same with the chicken sandwich. The fries, tasted like they were made much earlier (we were there around 11:15am). Nothing was truly hot. Had to wait until we got up to the register to place our order before we knew what was on the menu. The perfect place to put this menu is on the large blank wall as you walk in to line up to place your order. The eating place was small. There is outside seating but it was a cool day and no one wanted to go outside to eat. We will wait another month to go again. It might have been a bad day, or our taste buds.

Burgers were mediocre at best. Fries were soft and greasy as were the fried pickles. But the kicker was the hot dining room. The manager said the air conditioning was on, but it was obvious no air was even moving in the dining room, although he didn't leave the counter area ( which was a tad cooler) to check it out. Wasted money, never going back.

I really enjoy taking the family to hat creek for a great day out the jalapeno sauerkraut is a must try and the manager victor was very helpful with my selections. Only bad thing which i really dont like is at the bottom of my fried pickles was a puddle of grease so it forced me to waste a few

I've been a patron of Hat Creek since they were just a food trailer in Austin and I'm glad Hat Creek made it to Gtown! It's in a great location, just a bit off the square and they have a nice backyard and play area (and you can bring your dog through the back gate.) The burgers aren't mind blowing, but all of the food is good. Burgers are handmade and fresh which is more than you can say for A LOT of burger places. (Buns are good.) They make their own pickles, fries are cut fresh and they do hand dipped shakes. (Had the Nanner Puddin and it didn't disappoint.) I have also grabbed a breakfast bowl on several occasions and those actually knock my socks off. Eggs are local, vegetable options are abundant, the bowls are plentiful and the green salsa is DELicious. (Hope they consider selling it by the jar!) And I think the value is strong - for handmade everything and a fun and pleasant atmosphere - you can't ask for much more. (To Brandon C - your math is off. Big Hat WITH cheese - $6.18, Hand Cut Fries - $1.99 and Soda - $2.19 for a large - your total is around $11 after tax - and that's not using their combo price which brings your total to even less. At least be forthcoming in your reviews - people read them and base decisions off of them.)

We've now eaten here three times. Two were drive-thru. We really enjoy the burgers and the fresh, chargrilled flavor. This morning we decided to eat breakfast inside, after noticing on the drive-thru menu that they have breakfast items made with organic eggs from an Austin-area farm (Vital Farms) and after seeing on their website that they offer their own fermented pickles. Well, breakfast was great, for the most part. They did undercook the supposed-to-be over hard egg on my husband's breakfast sandwich. He still thought it tasted good. I loved my breakfast taco. I was disappointed there was no salsa, but did end up enjoying the available Tabasco just as much, if not more. Our biggest issue, really, was that the place was not clean. The first thing we noticed upon approaching the order counter was that our shoes stuck to the floor. Then we went to a table and found it still with crumbs on the table and seats, presumably from the previous night, since it appears we were the first ones there. This is why I have assigned three stars only. When you walk into a dirty restaurant, you just start to wonder what else they're not cleaning properly. I will assume this was a fluke for now and will give it another try at some point. But until then I can't give it four stars.

I don't recommend the drive through. And something has happened here with the service. They take too long in the drive through, and don't seem to care if you are waiting 20 minutes for your order. They are very unorganized. They got a simple order wrong. And, the fries were lukewarm. Maybe you'll get better service inside. I used to love this place. The experience is not as great as it used to be.

Not worth the prices they charge, Sonic is just as good and I would of had a bigger burger. $3 dollars for a small burger 70 cents to add a slice of cheese. The fried pickles weren't hot and they tastes blah for $4 dollars. Won't be going back.

In terms of fast food this place is probably as good as it gets. The staff is super professional and it actually seems as if people enjoy working here. The food is good and doesn't make you feel like death after consumption. It's pretty unique for a fast food joint. They also have draft beers. McDonald's move out of the way.

  • Donna M.

The grain burger was good. Hamburger was average. Fries were cold, limp and greasy. We liked the different sauces offered but signs explaining what they are would be nice. Nice building but the screen doors separating the dining area are inconvenient and noisy with everybody having to go through to get a table, go back for food, then return to the table. A runner to deliver the food to the tables would be a great addition. The parking was confusing. Very friendly staff, though. We will try it again but there is lots of room for improvement.

A great place for the family and pretty decent food. We've been here many times and it's usually pretty satisfying. They aren't giant burgers, which are fine with me, but they are good...most of the time. I go through the drive through (which can be slow) when I want to get something on my way to somewhere and occasionally the buns are a little over browned. It's still better than any fast food burger around. My youngest loves the play area when we go inside and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxing from our experiences. Their Idaho fry sauce is super yummy!!

Hat Creek is a good alternative when you are tired of chain store burgers. I'm a big fan of the double turkey burger. I especially like that they will do it without a bun, wrapped in lettuce, without looking at you like you have a third eye.

Since my first visit, this place has gone downhill; it is dirty. Staff was using same rag to wipe down tables and trashcans. Brought out ice to fill up machines in dirty, nasty buckets. Food is all over the floor and tables.... which is probably cleaner then when they wipe them down with the trash can rags:( Both my mother and I got sick from this last visit. Please clean up your act!!!! Then I might be back.... maybe.

Very expensive for the amount of food you get. Fries are just awful! They are more like fried potatoe skins they are too thin and overcooked. Either that or the oil hasn't been changed in the fryers for a long time. Burgers are small, overcooked and dry. The time for your order to get to you is forever and there are so many kids running and screaming you will leave with a headache. Place isn't too clean with overflowing trash cans and fingerprints all over the doors. The only plus i can honestly say about this place is the wait staff and cashiers are super friendly and nice. Other than that i can't recommend Hat Creek unless you don't care about sanitation, spending a lot for so little or developing a headache from all the screaming wailing kids.

I've been to this location 3x's now. Burgers are just ok, nothing special. Their onion chips are awful, I ate 1 and threw the 3.99 order away. Fries were thin, greasy and had a kit of bad spots on them. Here's a big problem that I encountered last visit: at the drive thru I ordered the big hat combo. I told the clerk that I wanted to substitute the onion chips instead of fries. They said it would be about $2 more. So I get to the window and pay $12plus change for a burger, onion chips and an unsweetened tea. Yep $12. When I get home and look at the receipt. They charged me the full rate on the big hat combo, onion chips and drink. So I paid for a burger, fries, drink(combo) and then they charged me for the onion chips 3.99 and another drink. When I called back they said they couldn't just charge the difference of the fries/onion chips( approximately $2). They had to ring each individually. I told them it was unacceptable. I also asked where was my fries and additional drink that I paid for. He said oops, sorry. I won't be back WHATABURGER is better and you get more for less.

Stopped in for the first time ever and was thoroughly impressed. Staff was was super friendly! They stand by the quality of their products and you can tell they love where they work. Katie the manager was awesome. I got the big burger on which they added FREE grilled onions and jalepenos! Delicious!! The fries were perfectly crispy yet soft and had just the right amount of salt. Topped it off with a nanna' puddin' shake... Seven hours later I'm still full, but can't wait to get hungry so I can go for round 2!!!!

Family friendly atmosphere, with super fast service. The burgers were good and seemed to be made with all real food. The French fries were yummy, but I was slightly disappointed in the fries pickles. Over nice staff and just what we needed before heading to a football game.

Hat Creek is a great place for a Friday evening or lazy weekend afternoon. The burgers and fried pickles are great. Salads are pretty good as well. The playground for the kids is an added bonus and makes it a perfect spot for the entire family.

  • Caleb K.

It is fast food. If you know that going into it, then you won't be disappointed. That being said, we thought it was WAY better than McDonalds and just below Whataburger. But if you have kids under the age of 10, then stop here so they can play. You can see them from 90% of the eating area. Everything we ate was good. Not amazing, but good. Hence the 3 stars.

  • Lucy B.

I have been a couple of times now, and it is not bad! This time I got the big hat with pepper jack cheese and bacon. The burger had a nice char-broiled flavor, bacon was crispy, all in all a decent burger. The fries are "ok". Most were crispy, but some were a bit greasy and limp. I think that they would turn out better if they were cut a bit thicker. I have yet to try the crafted beer or get a milkshake. Maybe next time when I am not so full. Would like to have some bbq sauce to dip my fries in. Don't know if they have that, I didn't ask. Love the crushed ice. Not many places have that locally. It's the little things ya know? Big bonus, they gave my buddy a military discount. That's cool. We got there about an hour before closing, really liked the fact that they did not rush us when we stayed a little while after eating to visit with each other.
