I absolutely loved this place. The servings were pretty large and I couldn't finish my food, but man, did it hit the spot!! I had the black bean burger and my cousin had something with gravy and potatoes but she definitely loved it! Also, we were the only ones there! We went on a Saturday around 1:30pm because we heard it got really crowded! Well as we walked in, the last family walked out! We were alone until we finished eating, then another family came in as we walked out. So our service and food was fast!

Outdoor seating was rusty tables, that need repair. $10 salad was really lack luster. Was not impressed at all, given all the great reviews.

I really enjoy 5th Street; food is great and service is fast (enough) and friendly. Prices are a little high though, so can't give them that "5th" star. My favorite guilty pleasures are the shrimp basket and the Cajun omelette. It gets waaaay crowded at peak times (lunch time during the week and pretty much any time on the weekend), so get there early and/or be prepared to wait.

Been here several times, pretty great food especially the hangover hash. A blend of a lot of things which creates food flavors with the meats. Gets crowded fast on weekends so come early or be prepare to wait, their pancakes are also pretty darn solid!

-for breakfast only- It's true this place is extremely busy, but personally I think they're overrated. Atmosphere 3/5: Came on a Monday, there was a line and 90% of the seats were occupied, we were impressed with the popularity, but not the interior, I kn

The place was jam-packed, but the food is definitely worth the wait! The service and the food were excellent! The owner recommended me the secret special dish: chicken&waffle. The chicken was tender, juicy, and lightly fried. The waffle was buttery and soft. The blueberries and strawberries were sweet. Overall, I would definitely come back for some more delicious food! FOOD: 5/5 SERVICE: 5/5 AMBIANCE: 3/5

This used to be my favorite place ! But today was a mess ! They served the egg benedits with out sauce... Naked... And when I asked about it the showed up with melted cheese !

Wow, this place is good and all of Frisco knows it! I read all the reviews and we decided to stop in for brunch. It is located in downtown and it is a couple streets off of Main. It is located in a picturesque cottage. When you come inside it has limited seating in the front and there is more in the back of the establishment. Now, on this August day it was already in the 90s so sitting outside on the patio was not an option. We arrived at 10:30 and the line was to the door to place an order. For all the Mckinney Peeps this place reminds me of Snug back when was good. It's the type of place that you order first, they give you a number, and they bring the food to your table. My husband and I both ordered specials so they are not on the regular menu. The hubby ordered chicken and waffles, now this was not even a special for the day. We saw some pictures on Yelp and knew that they had it. We asked if they could make it for him, they said absolutely. He stated they were as good as the ones at Black Walnut, crispy tender chicken topping fluffy Belgium waffles and smothered in maple syrup. I had the Chilaquiles. it consisted of homemade tostada chips topped with zesty green salsa, grilled chicken, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream. It reminded me of the Chilaquiles at Cafe Brazil, which I love. Great brunch, not one complaint. I'm happy to see an independent restaurant turning out yummy home cooked goodness.

I've been here a bunch of times and they never disappoint. This is a great place to go for breakfast or lunch anytime but we are Sunday brunch regulars. Today I got the Italian Chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and a side of their jalapeño soup. I've never had the soup before but it was SO good. It was a cream based soup that kindof tasted like guacamole or something.... but in soup form. It was interesting. It wasn't too spicy but I could taste the jalapeño in it. I could also taste cilantro and, though I'm not usually a cilantro fan, it was mild and good. I thought it was a creative change in soup. Not your everyday chicken tortilla, chili, or chicken noodle. Good job mixing it up Fifth Street. My boyfriend got their special of the day, the Big Daddy's Chicken and Waffles. It came with berries, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. I like my chicken and waffles a little more on the savory side without all the sugar but he loved it.

Amazing! Great food, cute place, nice outdoor seating and you get s lot for your money. 2 ppl can likely share one meal. Kids pancakes are big so if you have small kids they can split

Nice staff. Food was ok. Since it was my first time they were nice enough to make me Chicken & waffles which is not on their menu but I saw it here on Yelp and it's what I wanted. I had high expectations and unfortunately the flavors weren't all there. I'd probably go back and try something else's just bc of how nice they were!

Busy? Yes. Crowded? Sometimes. But I am a sucker for places like this, and I've tried a variety of items from the menu. I have not been disappointed in the food yet. I don't like when it's overcrowded, so I go later once the crowds die down. My favorite lunch item is the Pico Shrimp Tacos. Perfection.

Great place for breakfast and lunch! They've got TONS of selection that is mind blowing. So many types of food. Great desserts and sweets selection too. The portions are HUGE. Also it's a cute little cafe. My friend brought us here for breakfast and we fell in love, it's basically this small little house that was converted into a cafe. I love when businesses do that. Great place to bring a group of friends or even for couples on a date.

Pros first: I have to say the food is really good, if I'm judging on the food alone, I would give a 4ish. Great breakfast, especially! It's also a cute little spot. However, any time it's minutely busy, you will wait FOREVER for your food, no matter what it is. And good luck finding a seat! Also, wouldn't say this is too kid friendly either, bc it's a small, crowded space where you are practically sitting on top of each other haha... but it is noisy so I guess that's a plus for kids. Just trying to point out the good points as well.We brought our 2 and 1 year olds and spent most of the wait walking around outside and ended up having to get our food to go after waiting for literally an hour AFTER we stood in line to order for 20-30 mins. All in all worth a try for the food, But I will never go back on a weekend. Ever. Nobody should have to wait that long for food. I could've gone to the grocery store and bought eggs, bacon, pancakes & grits, gone home, cooked all of it, eaten it, cleaned my kitchen and who knows what else in the amount of time we were at this place!

Service was excellent food came out very quickly even though there was a line when we got there. Chicken and waffles was one of the best things I've ever had. I will make a special trip to come back

We came and there was a long line. Thank goodness we did not leave. While we were in line we watched other people's order and sucked in the succulent smells. We could hardly wait but changed our minds on what to eat several times because something else looked better. We settled on the seafood scramble which was so good. There was a sauce that went with it that was to die for. The staff is very courteous and very efficient moving through the crowd to ensure a wonderful Mother's Day. I definitely will be back the next time I return to see the grandkids.

Hubby and I went to try 5th Street Patio Cafe for breakfast on a Sunday before heading out to a movie. It seemed we barely beat the crowd by getting there at about 10:00 AM that morning. The cafe is located in a cute little character house in the old town Frisco area. It's set up so that when you come in, you review the menu items on a couple of chalkboards, order there at the front and then find a table and wait for your order to be delivered. I wasn't able to find just a standard breakfast that included eggs, sausage, pancakes and hash browns. So, I ended up ordering something close and made a substitution. I didn't get the feeling the lady who assisted us was happy that we were there at all. The service wasn't the fastest I've experienced. The food was okay. My pancakes were covered in strawberry preserves versus syrup... that was a bit too sweet and sticky for me. But, I actually really liked the sausage links. The guy who delivered our drinks was kinda funny... a young, casually dressed guy in a baseball cap and jeans who was really chomping away at his chewing gum. Seemed nice enough, just came off a bit too "casual" for being on the job. We will probably give it another try for lunch. I hope to come back and edit this review one day because it's such a neat little place by appearance. It's a shame I was disappointed. I think what threw us off was the lady's attitude when she took our order when we first walked in... she just wasn't friendly at all. It wasn't a good first impression and set the tone for the whole visit.

Worst place ever for breakfast!!! Photos are not realistic to what you get. Food was cold. Ordered Belgium waffles with fruit and got only a thin slice of a strawberry. Toast was cold, eggs were cold. Small portions. Bad coffee. Would never return

I'm not from Frisco, but I gathered that the Sunday brunch options in this city must be so bad that's what makes this place so good. On the positive side, the good was good. Portions were huge, and prices were very fair. What may have been a cute and quirky place at one point, has obviously grown into a business that has outpaced management. Waiting in a line to get your food may have once worked, but now it's incredibly confusing, crowded, and an annoyance. Want to order dessert once you're done with your meal? Then you have to Wait in The line that's at or out the door at all times. Talk about an incentive to leave and go elsewhere!

My husband and I went on a Tuesday evening. It wasn't crowded at all. He got the captain crunch French toast and I got the fried shrimp po'boy. You couldn't really taste the captain crunch cereal and the bread was dry inside. They could have used decent bread too instead of generic Texas toast bread. It also would have been better if they had a great house-made syrup instead of the gross, cheap bottled kind. My po'boy was also dry and lacked any kind of flavor. The shrimp was dry, the bread was dry, it all tasted like nothing. The fries were nice and crispy and hot, seasoned well. Quite the expansive menu, I'd love to come back to try more, but I'm super hesitant after our disappointing first visit. Most likely won't be back.

We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The kids were beyond upset. The food is pretty good, but the wait makes it a place we won't visit again.

Our daughter had spoken so highly of this place and usually when that happens, it's a let down because the hype has been so high. Not this place! We went on a Sunday morning around 11:15 and it was packed but let me tell you, that it was SO worth the wait! Also in my opinion, when a restaurant offers a lot of variety, different types of food, they just cannot do them all well but again...this place does! My husband had chicken fried steak, I had a reuben sandwich, my daughter shrimp tacos and granddaughter grilled cheese...ALL off the charts yummy! Hats off to the chef! We will be back! Oh yes...BYOB in the evenings! :-)

I really wanted to love this place after moving to Frisco, which seemed possible after my first visit in med-February. All of my family's brunch orders were top notch and we thought we'd found our new go-to breakfast spot. Then something changed because in mid-March, my husband and I had to send our burned eggs back not once, but twice. The manager blamed it on the cook being busy, but eggs are not that hard to get right. Every place can have an off day, so we decided to go back for another try yesterday for Sunday brunch. Once again, my husband's scrambled eggs were covered in brown burn marks, and my sunny side up egg on top of my corned beef hash was shriveled and crispy. And these dishes were served 45 minutes after we ordered them, by the way. We ordered the Hangover Hash and the Corned Beef Hash with no additions or special requests, so the delay seemed unwarranted and I hated sitting at an empty table & being stared at while there was a crowd of other people looking for a seat. The self seating set-up isn't ideal for the 11:00 AM brunch rush, in my opinion. Anyway, back to the food: they brought me a new egg, not much better. But the worst was yet to come... I was almost finished when I noticed something odd attached to one of my fried potatoes. It was a small, narrow clothing tag, thinner than what you'd find on a t-shirt, reading "100% cotton" and "Size (S)"... that closely resembled a ladies underwear tag. I snapped a photo before my angry husband carried the plate back to the kitchen and if I can figure out how to post it with my review, I will. The manager tried to blame it on a potato bag being cut, but I can't say I agree. So needless to say, despite my meal being free, we won't be back. Even it weren't for the unsightly surprise at the end, what good is going out to breakfast if you can't get a decent egg? I guess you could stick with the pancakes, which really are great... but you might want to chew carefully!

Good food, not great or amazing though. I have only been for breakfast and it's like going to your family's house for a meal. Avoid at all costs on holidays! Went for Mother's Day last May and waited for an hour for our food after we had already ordered and paid and it wasn't even that great. I enjoy original pancake house a lot better.

Possibly best breakfast/casual brunch place I've been to in the DFW area. Smoke is one of my favorites for an upscale brunch but since these two are in slightly different categories I would have to place this at #1 on my Saturday/Sunday breakfast places list. First off, it's a small location so it can get pretty crowded, especially on Sundays. But the line moves pretty fast and the wait is very much worth it. While their coffee selection is not the best, the quality and variety of their menu is incredible. Try any of the following and you won't be disappointed: Bananas Foster French Toast (the sweet rum sauce is incredible), Biscuit Breakfast (Biscuits and sausage gravy with fried eggs), Hangover Hash, Pancakes (any kind). The portions are fair sized. Not small, and tend to stray towards the larger size. If you get two plates for two people you'll be beyond stuffed. The important part of all this is just the genuine quality, thought, and time taken on each item on the menu. If you're looking to try this place out with minimal fuss try a weekday. Same great head cook works practically every day. Fair warning, the sweet stuff is pretty rich, but hey once in a while it's ok to indulge.

Came in with the family today, thought I would try something different, thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was not dissapointed. Word to the wise, it's a good idea to come in early if you can as space is limited, this is a converted home. Come prepared on what to order, look up the menu online, as this is a walk in place, that being said make sure you order everything on your initial order or be prepared to get back inline, to make additional requests, they have soda fountain, coffee all self serve, you have to get your own silverware, napkins etc all self service. Now to the food, I had the Corned beef hash, which was very good and very well portioned, the wife was able to split the Big Burrito Breakfast in three, to serve our son and daughter, (if you want milk or juice make sure to place at initial order) the soda fountain only has soda or Lemonade. Wife and kids said the burrito was very tasty, and huge. We also order a Belgium waffle with berries, that we were able to split into 4 wedges just the right size. All an all a very nice breakfast experience, but like I said come prepared to do a lot on your own as this is almost all self service.

This is not for someone who does not like crowds, lines, or crying children. I did not have the same joy filled experience that some other reviewers experienced. First problem is parking. There are so many customers trying to dine here that you may have to circle around like a vulture to find a spot or plan on bringing a hiking stick. Once inside, you'll wait in a line that snakes throughout the building (perhaps leaning on your walking stick) and though it moves relatively quickly it will be reminiscent of your Dallas rush hour-bumper to bumper-wrecks everywhere-weekly commute. If you're as lucky as our family, you will find yourself in line in front of a family taking the "hands off" approach to parenting. This will make you appreciate your well behaved child oh so much more while simultaneously causing you to hate the next 20 minutes of your life all while starving. The food, though decent will probably make you feel bloated or even better, give you diabetes. Portion sizes are enormous so this may be your holy grail after all.

Do NOT come here if you have a party of 5 or more.. We where second in line, two of our party members (mother and child 3yrs old) sat down to get out of the walk way. The wait staff kicked them off the table and then would not accommodate seats. So forget about it with parties of 5 ore more.

Went here for the first time and loved it! I've always wanted to go to a local cafe like in the movies and this was just that- super cute!! Very good prices as well

You know when you try out a restaurant, based on Yelp reviews, and you sadly discover that you have no clue what the great reviews were all about? Well thankfully this was not the case here! The cafe is really cute, very eclectic and fun. And I'm not really sure what the negative reviews about the staff were about, but everyone-I mean everyone-was extremely friendly and very funny in fact. Now to the food...I had the hangover hash partly bc I have to eat gluten free but also bc it sounded amazing. It had scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese, jalapeños, tomatoes......on and on. It was incredible. I literally stuffed myself sick. The rest of my family had various things such as pancakes, breakfast tacos, and a breakfast platter. All of which was scarfed in minutes without one complaint. The one and only downfall was trying to get to this cute little cafe, but I will not sacrifice a little maneuvering through construction to eat here again....and again. Ps-if you're one that doesn't like loud cafés, this prob isn't the place for you on the weekend. You may want to just stay home and try during non-peak hours! To me, that says the place is fantastic but obviously others think different:)

    (5)
  • Dianna E.

Delicious food with generous portions. You order first and they deliver the food to your table. They have amazing flavored coffees, a self serve set up. It gets crowded on weekends but there is plenty of seating, so don't let that discourage you.

THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE FAV. BRECK FAST CAFÈ! I love their chocolate pancakes, and the way they make them in the back! OMG.! amazing! The place is a little crowded but, that's okay. It can be a little hard to find a table so get there EARLY! But I give it a thumbs up!

  • Dwayne W.

I LOVE this place. The owner is really nice and has done an impressive job of putting together a menu that will keep you coming back to try new things. I LOVE the jalapeno soup with a side of biscuits and gravy in the morning. This is a great place to eat. We have been going here since they open and still make it part of our regular routine. The one downside is the seating processes. You stand in line to order your food at the counter, then you take your number and go try to find a place to sit. This process usually works really well until you get the people that feel they are better than everyone else and decide to go take the open table even though they haven't even gotten in line to order yet. That just causes a backup. Don't be one of THOSE people. There are three seating areas. The front main area, the back area which tends to be quieter, and the patio. Give this place a try.

Since coming here once my fiancé and I have grown into a frequent diner. Absolutely everything I have had here is delicious. The owner and the young man at the bar are very friendly and always makes us feel welcome,. I would avoid the weekends though, the wait is pretty long because its such a popular place!

Great food! Trendy place. A lil hard to get to due to construction! My husband and I both loved it. He ordered chicken fried chicken w homemade gravy and I had the Pasta Alfredo w/ shrimp & chicken! So satisfied!

Nice to see a gem like this in Frisco in an existing building rather than the chain type of places that dominate this city. Made to order good food and personal service. Great menu for any time of the day but I am a big fan of their breakfast on weekends. Quaint setting with intimate seating which I found appealing. Three highlight items for me are the pancakes, the Cap'n Crunch French toast and the corned beef hash. Can't go wrong with any of those.

    (5)
  • Scott H.

Nice breakfast place. Looks like it could even be a nice atmosphere if you could find a time to avoid the crowd. The place fills up pretty quick, but the wait didn't seem to get too bad. Pro tip: order family style and share. The servings are huge. Breakfast tacos are served on a full size tortilla, not a taco sized shell. Way too much food for one person in the hangover hash as well. Probably could go three ways with that plate.

  • Michael G.

I went there with my parents on a Wednesday morning at around 8:30am. I just moved in from Austin and was looking for somewhere that's not a big-chain (such as IHOP) to get some decent breakfast food. This place did not disappoint me. There weren't that many people in the morning and the ambiance was quite nice. The color scheme of this place was very welcoming. While the cashier didn't seem the most enthusiastic to take our order, it didn't take away too much from the the overall experience. The Cajun Scramble was quite unlike any scrambled eggs I've ever had. It's definitely on the heavier side for breakfast. The Corned Beef Hash that my dad got wasn't quite up to par to some other hash that I've had at other places. Overall I enjoyed my experience here and would definitely come back here again. Maybe I'll give their lunch/dinner menu a try sometime.

The Cajun omelette was tasty. The Pesto sandwich was good (toast was saturated in butter - not for me). The atmosphere and service were great (bumping it up a half star).

If you like to stand in line, pay at a counter, get your on drinks and silverware, get your own napkins, and find your own table, this is the place for you! If you expect to be waited and served like a regular restaurant, do not come here.

  • Liz G.

Ate here for the first time after living in Frisco several years and driving by hundreds of times. Why did I never come here before! This is the cutest place ever, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Besides all that the food happens to be wonderful as well! I ordered the breakfast tacos bacon egg and cheese. They weren't too greasy or bland. They tasted homemade which is absolutely what I was hoping for. I plan on returning soon again to try another dish. In the meantime I will give a 4. If my other dish turns out just as great ill bump it up to a 5.

This place is amazing! We have been here a few time for a great breakfast. There prices are about what you would pay at a Denny's which is great. Their portion sizes are large so I normally have leftovers. You do have to stand in line to order and then go find a table. They get very busy so we normally have to wait in line for a while but have never had a hard time getting a table. If you want a great breakfast place this is it. Just be prepared to stand in line for a while if they are busy. But it is worth the small wait!

  • Liza P.

The good part first. Love the location and building. The people that appeared to be the owners were very nice. It is a busy place but they have a patio and two sections for seating inside. You stand in line to order and they bring the food to you. We ordered chicken and waffles, not the best I've had but it was good. We also ordered the corned beef hash and a side of cheddar cheese grits. It should be called potato hash with a smidgen of "chopped" not minced corned beef. The lady taking our order did mention that the corned beef was not minced. The grits came out with shredded cheese on top not melted and cold. Come to find out the warmer was not plugged in. The corned beef hash was also cold. The female owner/manager was very nice and immediately exchanged the corned beef hash with eggs Benedict. Eggs were over cooked but the food was hot and came out quickly. The staff was very nice and attentive. The issues were corrected quickly and without debate. We like trying new local places, so we did. Off to the next one.

We came here on a visit back home for the holiday. After living in the SF Bay Area for the past 14 years, we look forward to home cooking when we come back to TX. We ordered breakfast here and what a bummer! We were starving and after our food finally came, we were pretty disappointed. They served the dryest potatoes I've ever had in my life. The biscuits and gravy were a total joke! The "sausage gravy" was soooo bland. Didn't taste like sausage either! Just water and flour. Needed seasoning BIG TIME. We won't return. We are leaving our food half eaten.

This place definitely deserves 5 stars for food! I had one of their specials which was pretty much a scramble of eggs, potatoes, bacon, jalapenos, and veggies. Super delicious and very generous on the portions. They serve 4-5 different kinds of coffee which was a plus since everyone's taste buds are different. My friends had the hazelnut flavored coffee while I had the vanilla. We also shared the lemon bar before we got our food because we were starving! The lemon bar was HUGE and perfect on the citrus flavor and sweetness level. I do have to say that I was a bit frustrated when I was standing in line and trying to walk through the restaurant. It's a very tight space and you're constantly having to say excuse me. When you're waiting in line, there comes a point where you're in front of the restrooms - not very pleasant. And be sure to double check your chair so you don't sit in scraps of food or leftover ketchup haha Make sure you come here EARLY if you're trying to go for Sunday brunch. First dibs on parking, food, and seating!

  • Shawn T.

Not too busy, but it still took too long to get the food. My bacon was cold, but no way I was going to wait for hot bacon. The crowd was all upper middle class white people who stared as I and my Mexican husband (we're gay, okay) walked in. The food was fine. Just fine.

This place is amazing! My husband and I visited this past weekend and it was delicious. We waited in line to order which took a few minutes but we had a table available right after ordering. I had eggs, turkey sausage and potatoes with a pancake on the side. I also order a coffee and they have an assortment of coffees to choose from along with all the creamers your heart may desire. The food was fresh and came out promptly. Server was kind and willing to help when needed. I'm so happy it's only 5 minutes from my house and I'll be there to visit again very soon. If you live in Frisco this place is a must to visit. They serve breakfast, lunch and also serve dinner. Wayyyy better than any IHOP you might visit and even better than La Peep, cause you know that's all we really have in Frisco! This is is the spot to have breakfast at that's for darn sure!!

i cant believe i have lived in Frisco this long and never knew about this place! Tends to get very crowded but if you are in no rush its no big deal waiting. Atmosphere is great, several food options on the menu, food is delicious! and who does not love deserts after their meal?

  • Jeff W.

Wow what a great place! I recently found this place. Deserts are to die for. The coffee is out of this world. Cinnamon coffee was my choice and I'd return just for it alone. Try tge cheese grits with applewood bacon. This is a meal not just a side. Very filling... I don't usually like grits but these converted me. Decor is bright. Lots of windows and views of the historic old Frisco neighborhood. Minimal outdoor seating so if you want to enjoy your coffee on a cool morning and watch the sunrise get there early.

Not family friendly!!! We've been there several times now with great food and no problems. Friday, we went and ordered a kids grilled cheese with milk. They gave her a tiny cup with it half way filled up. My 2 yr old drank almost all of it before her food even came out...which in her defense took a while to come out. My husband went to get her a refill and they wanted to charge another $2. I can buy a gallon for almost that cost! I was so disappointed, I'm not sure that we will go back somewhere that can't even refill a toddlers small cup of milk without charge. Having a business in family friendly Frisco, they should be more conscientious of how they treat their customers....even the little ones.

So many choices to choose from! Both the breakfast or lunch items are equally good. The food is amazing and reasonably priced, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Love coming here for breakfast! Sunday mornings are busy so get there early, they open at 8am! We are always greeted with an inviting smile and great comfort food! Their Captain Crunch and Berries Foster French Toast is a nice sweet treat! Or for someone who wants something on the lighter side their Mr. Thomas breakfast is always a good option, including egg whites, tomato, avocado, wheat toast and turkey sausage, Yum! They have a great outdoor space so you can enjoy indoors or out! Oh and my favorite part is they have a wide variety of coffees to choose from at their coffee bar including vanilla, cinnamon and hazelnut! So stop by and enjoy!

Great atmosphere for breakfast on a lazy Sunday. Had the California breakfast sandwich special and boyfriend had the pancakes with a side of eggs. My fried potatoes were overcooked but the sandwich, coffee and pancakes were fantastic. Great homey atmosphere. Will definitely come back and look forward to it.

Great fresh food, with lots of healthy and unhealthy options! My husband loves the blackened salmon, and my parents love the chicken fried chicken. They do breakfast all day, and have lots of home baked goodies. For a place that does a great job with fried items, they also have a good selection of items that have fresh fruits and vegetables.

The best hidden gem for breakfast and lunch in Frisco. Eclectic and charming, with unique food. Seating gets tight during lunch hours, for good reason. Free wifi. Only negative point is that it doesn't open until 8am. Early risers are excluded from enjoying this place.

The wait was really long for a Saturday morning. I knew it was busy but the wait was too much for me. My husband got the seafood scrabble which was a special and loved it. My food was just ok. I got the cafe breakfast with a slice of French toast. The wait staff was extremely nice and friendly!

Two words...KEITH'S SPECIAL. Off the menu chicken and waffles are ridiculous. Plump chicken and a thick Belgian waffle. Worth the wait...

First time here based on positive yelp reviews. We were there on a Monday at 1pm and had no problem getting served. Two of us had the 1/2 and 1/2 soup and salad with the jalapeño soup and curry chicken salad. One had the Reuben. The soup was creamy and delicious. The chicken salad was perfect. Bread was a little stale. The Reuben looked fantastic and my friend confirmed it tasted as good as it looked. Def recommend.

This place is awesome! The Seafood Scramble is really good. The staff is very friendly! The orange juice could be better, but overall this place is well recommended. I'll be back for sure!

I really enjoyed the home-style atmosphere. The place looks to be an old house converted into a restaurant. The interior was colorful with bright walls and reminded me of an ol' school coffee shop for the locals. I ordered the seafood cajun scramble: scrambled eggs with shrimp and Cajun sauce in top. It was awesome as I contemplated licking the spicy sauce off of the plate. The potatoes were a bit over cooked and tasted like over baked French fries. The place is very popular and had a line out the door. The tables were hard to come by. It's like when you're going up and down the rows of a parking lot trying to find a parking spot. Then somebody gets up and you're excited to have somewhere to eat your grub. The pancakes were about 6-8" around and you get three of them. I think the griddle was a little too hot because they seemed crisp on the outside and a little gummy on the inside. I would definatly come back for another round.

I had eggs over medium - very hard to get just right and they did! Cute interior, excellent staff. Order at the counter and sit down. Food came pretty quickly. It was June so I didn't want to sit on the patio but it looked nice, Reasonable prices, good-sized menu.

Visiting from Chicago & I must say this place is AMAZING! We ate there 5 days in a row! Trying different things on the menu! I'm a health nut, so the Mr.Thompson breakfast was wonderful! The Belgium waffles were very good! The corned beef hash was great & made from scratch! Everything we ordered was presented well and tasted FANTASTIC!

  • Cupcake W.

They have good desserts and a really good atmosphere. On sunny spring or summer days, their patio is really nice. It's eclectic on the inside and I find the menu presentation really enjoyable because it reminds me of a favorite restaurant in another city.

My wife and I come here about once a month or so. We enjoy every visit. My wife's go to meal is their patio breakfast. My own go to meal is between their Belgian waffle or their sausage and biscuits. Both are delicious. Their bacon is cooked just right to, not over cooked, but not to greasy either. The ambiance is very nice and unique compared to pretty much everywhere else in Frisco. The restaurant is inside an old house. It reminds me of Austin to a certain degree, where I'm originally from. Coffee has always been hot. It can get pretty crowded though due to this place being a bit more on the smaller side. But the crowded-ness does add to the charm.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and I finally came here today. What a bummer and let down. I went with a friend, and maybe we both just ordered the wrong thing. I had the Biscuits and "Sausage" Gravy Breakfast... the most bland and flavorless gravy I've had in my life. With no sausage in sight. They even gave me a new bowl of gravy because they said they had good gravy when I asked if it was supposed to taste like paste. The new batch was just as gross :( Friend had bacon tacos, which were fine just lots of eggs in huge pieces and a bite size of bacon. Plus side: potatoes were tasty and pancakes were nice and fluffy.

Don't really care for the seating layout here and the location. But the food, the food is so good! My favorite is the Corned beef hash. I have also gotten the country biscuit breakfast and hangover hash, and both are also really good. I have tried a few bites of the belgian waffles and its a little too egg-y tasting to me, but good nonetheless. Usually I don't have room left for desert but I have had a bite or two of their cakes. They are really rich for me to eat by myself but I love to try a bite or two. My only problem with this place is that their service can be a little slow at times but the people are nice.

Poor model for an enjoyable experience. Ordering, then having to find a seat in an overcrowded restaurant. Food was mediocre at best. Definitely do not intend to go back. Staff was super - friendly.

I came in for some coffee. Big mistake. The "coffee" lacked any flavor and made the brown water they serve at Denny's taste exotic. Definitely a breakfast joint. The ambiance is "suburban home remodel." This eatery was packed. By the way, I enjoyed my $6 waffle. It was simple and to the point. I only wish the coffee was better. Much better.

Sitting in the restaurant eating for the first time as I type. First, it's a small business and should be supported. But not supported just because it's a small business. It has exceptional food and ambiance too. The manager/owner is extremely friendly. It can get busy at times and quite loud, but the food and service trumps anything else. In a city of mass pretentiousness, including restaurants, this is a Frisco treasure.

    (5)
  • Brian B.

Good food. 1 star because they've been using the same incompetent system for years that means long waits in line and standing around forever despite not being THAT busy. It must be frustrating to their staff as well as all the customers are forced to stand in the way while they try to get into the kitchen area. Nothing but unhappy customers and staff on weekend mornings.

The staff here is always kind and courteous and we frequent here for a casual but tasty breakfast. Occasionally they will jumble up an order or my eggs come out more cooked than I like, but they always correct the issue. Overall, the food is absolutely tasty and one of the better places in Frisco. The owners are kind and friendly. Don't forget to take home their pastries. I could have skipped the brownie, but the cake was to die for!

    (5)
  • Nadeem P.

Cozy little spot with awesome pastries! The food here wasn't bad, if I came back I would get the shrimp po boy as it was loaded and delicious! Fries were a bit soggy, but in all I would return if I was in the area.

I like this place. I like the concept. The food has big portions. What I do not like is the waiting for the food. Sometimes they get so busy they forget about your food order. We sat and waited 25 minutes for the food to come out; when people that came in after had been served and eating. The consistency is the issue. ..

Used to love this place for breakfast but recently went and was disappointed. The service was incredibly slow and my breakfast was cold and wasn't that good. I will go back and give it another chance. Maybe it was just a bad day for them. Great atmosphere! Debbie Viverito

I've been here a few times now and it is a great experience every time. One of the few non-chain places for a good brunch in Frisco. It is an order and then get a number and find a table type of place. The tables very in size and shape, and there are two rooms of seating, not too big, but not too small. Tables magically appear even in the prime hours when it is your turn to sit. My favorite is the Breakfast Burrito. It is packed with goodness and leaves you full. The staff is so nice and parking is easy, even if you are relegated to the street.

My wife and I have come to his place multiple times. Each time with hope to find something on the menu that blows our socks off. At first glance the menu looks appetizing, the venue is cute, and the place is always crowded. Unfortunately time after time, the food has been found to be okay, the waitstaff friendly, however the service is incapable of keeping up with demand. The last time we stop by for brunch on a Sunday we wound up waiting 45 minutes after we ordered for our food. This would be excusable if the quality was high and the food was hot, however once again the food was just okay and it arrived to the table cold. I give it three stars for a friendly environment and decent food however given my experiences I feel that it is a little on the generous side.

Came here off a recommendation and was not disappointed. GREAT breakfast food! (And I don't typically like breakfast food.) my hubby had the breakfast tacos and loved them. I had the patio breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast) and loved it. Great eggs! I also ordered a waffle, since my toddler was sharing my food. The waffle was nice and light and fluffy - which is very nice compared to other breakfast places. I saw on other reviews that they had to wait a long time or couldn't find a table. We didn't have that issue and we went right after church at 11:30 on Sunday morning. On a nicer day, there would have even been patio seating, so even more spot for people to sit. Had a good experience and we will be back!

We recently moved to Frisco and made our 1st trip to 5th Street Patio and Café today for breakfast. I am a harsh critic of pancakes and on a scale of 1-10, their pancakes are a HUGE 10. I would move them into a tie for the best pancakes I have ever had (Walker Brothers in Chicago). The pancakes were HUGE, fluffy, sweet and held together top and bottom with every cut of the fork. AMAZING PANCAKES....I can't wait to go back!

  • Hena K.

I have been here numerous times and I can say it will NOT disappoint you. I have only tried the breakfast items. Some of my favorites are the breakfast potatoes and the pancakes. Everything is made fresh daily. You have to seat yourself and on the weekends that may seem impossible, so it is better to go with a smaller group. They have fresh dessert right when you walk in and are hard to resist. Service is great here and you really get a meal for less.

Coffee was tasteless and watered down. I had the corn beef hash it came with fried bread instead of toast, potatoes were ok but for some reason they thought putting sickly melted cheese was ok. No mention of the horrible Cheese all over it. Yuck. I ate the egg 1 piece of toast and a couple pieces of potato that had no melted cheese on it

Best breafast place in DFW! Awesome food! We had French Toast berries Foster my mouth waters just the sight of it and taste even better. :9 corned beef hash was the bomb! Just be prepared there's a line but it's all worth it! Can't wait to eat here again! :9

It's okay... okra was a little extra slimey (not sure how they did that), tilapia was bland, sweet potato fries were nothing special, bread was greasy.... but their ranch dressing saved the meal.

Would have given a zero. Went in with a party of 12. They wouldn't let us get table ahead of time. They wanted us to order first. We were already in line to order, and we had my father in law sit at the table to hold it for us so we would be able to sit after we ordered. How do they expect to accommodate us after we ordered if there are no tables for us? Unbelievably rude lady turned us away. How do you turn away a party of 12?! Never returning there.

Mediocre food and bad service! We had a prior experience here and remember the place was hot inside we thought that was probably a fluke so after a year or so we tried it again and it is still hot inside. The guy taking the orders was less than interested in getting the order correct vs flirting with the girls around or staring into space. The food is just ok and there are so many other better places. Keep on going down the road there is better food and way better experience. My wife says I was kind to give it two stars and she would have given it 1 star.

Sorry guys, don't see what the hype is about. Food was decidedly average, but the cleanliness (or lack thereof) was startling. Flies buzzing, messy drink/coffee stations (with old coffee), poor atmosphere - I definitely won't be coming back.

I want to keep eating here to try everything on this menu..yeah it is that good. Two trips this far and we have tried the The Loaded Burrito, Captn Crunch French Toast and the Hangover Hash. Everything we have tried has been fantastic..fresh tasting and delicious. The French toast is light and crunchy with a hint of sweetness. The burrito is truly "loaded" full of goodness with a jalapeño cream gravy- I don't know if I would call it gravy but I will call it tasty! And the hash is a cure for any hangover..loaded with eggs, potatoes and breakfast meats. This is a small cafe type place and you order at the counter. They are open all day and the rest of the menu looks equally delicious plus they serve breakfast all day! If you are in Frisco this place is worth a side trip.

After hearing so many good things about this place my friends and I finally came. The food is good, but the wait is long and there were hairs in the Styrofoam cups, and an old piece of meat or something in their water cups gross! I got the Belgian waffle with berries more like berry- one strawberry cut in half!! I'm expecting a handful for $6 okay

Best pancakes in Frisco, heck...TX!!! They are perfection, and HUGE. A family of four can eat and have plenty with two orders. Rest of the breakfast menu is good, but nothing as outstanding as their pancakes.

Nice homey feel and great food! Went here for lunch and ordered the Tabasco chicken sandwich. It was excellent. Also got their clam chowder which was also impressive. The downside was that their coffee was way below average- which is surprising considering this is a breakfast place. Also, there were several flies in the dining area. This place had a nice family atmosphere and tasty food. I'll give it another try.

Lunch @ 11:45 am... sure, it's a quaint little house in old Frisco, but not really my cup of tea... As people have said, expect to stand in line to order your food, take your number, and find your own seat and get your own drink. And then wait... and wait... and wait... There was 3 of us: 1) Corned beef hash + "bowl" of jalapeno soup for $2.99 that was the same cup of jalapeno cheddar sauce I got for a side for $.99... 2) Breakfast Burrito & Belgium waffle ~ scored 'meh' overall, not bad, not great 3) Breakfast Tacos (sausage) + side of cheddar jap sauce. Large portion but food wasn't very tasty... couldn't taste the sausage, needed salt, and the sauce to be interesting. Back to the wait... so Plate 1 came out after about 10 mins... wait.... wait... then #2 came out after another 5-10 mins... wait.... wait... guy eating #1 is done, #2 is half way done, plate #3 comes out... Fortunately, we sat in the back room, so it was a little more quiet than the main room... and probably had few flies... but the 1 we had flying around us was very determined to be a pest. The good? Well, to be honest, their menu is *really* interesting and I'm pretty certain that given a different time of day and different menu item, they might be 3 stars... Norma's is better...

I was reading some of the reviews on here and I was baffled! This place is so awesome for breakfast! I normally eat clean during the weekend but if I'm going to splurge and eat an amazing meal this is the place to go! It also offers healthier choices but who is going to say no to the chicken and waffles and captain crunch French toast!?? Everything we have tried here is so amazing! We highly recommend this to all our friends and family?

    (5)
  • Chris P.

The waffle alone was worth ***** for its lightness and flavor. The only minor complaint was you get more strawberries at Little Gus's. The quesadilla came as TWO WHOLE tortillas, 8 slices rather than the 4 you normally are served. And at least the fajita chicken variety was tasty. The wife didn't care for the taste of the egg whites in Mr. Tom's scramble, but I ate THREE meals off the stuffed burrito. Of course, we are condemned to senior appetites, so your mileage will definitely vary! TIP: try the back room for a less noisy dining experience.

The atmosphere and decor is great, and this place is always busy. I got the big loaded burrito with all of the options, and it also came with a jalapeno cream sauce. Frankly saying, it had absolutely no flavor. It was pretty bland for me. However, I enjoy mildly spiced food, so for someone with lighter taste, that might not have been a problem. The Jalapeno cream sauce had no flavor except the cream. The portion was HUGE, though. Other than that, it was pretty mediocre.

Love love love this cafe! The cafe was super busy on the morning of our visit but snagged a table on the patio and enjoyed a morning of 60 degrees and low humidity for the first time in a long time as summer finally draws to a close. Clean, friendly and fast service. The Hubs enjoyed the hangover hash and i enjoyed the super awesome bananas fosters french toast-both were yummy!! Stop by this fun little cafe!

I have to say, this is has been one of my favorite local places to go and eat...until now. After today, I don't think I will ever go back. The place was busy, as usual, but it was also very dirty. After getting my silverware and condiments from the self-serve area, I noticed that the knives I had picked were both dirty. When I went back, I was unable to find any that were completely clean, so I ended up washing them myself with my water and a napkin. The drink station was out of iced tea and I had to drink something else, and unfortunately, it was still out of tea 45 minutes later when we were done with our meal and I tried to get a refill on my drink. We changed tables twice because they were not wiped down very well. One table by the window was clean, but I think that was because the windowsill had several dead flies on it so I'm guessing people weren't wanting to sit there. When my order arrived (Captain Crunch French Toast and a 5th Street Burger), the disappointment continued. The whipped cream that goes on the french toast was liquid, it looked as if it had been sitting under the heat lamp before coming out and it looked more like cream for my coffee than whipped cream should look. The bacon I ordered did not arrive and I had to go back and ask for it. When that finally came out, it was greasy and tasted like hamburger meat - as if it had been cooked too close to the burger and the grease overlapped. I couldn't eat it. My daughter said her burger tasted funny as well and couldn't eat it, which is saying something because this is one of her favorite places to go for a burger. I feel like maybe the management may have changed or they are understaffed or something. This place has always been a "go to" restaurant, and I love to go to locally owned places...but I saw so much going wrong this time that I cannot see myself ever going back. It's really a shame because this place used to be really good.

Came to try this place for Saturday brunch and WOW it was crazy packed! There was no parking available and the line was out the door, which gave me high hopes. We ordered chicken & waffle, blueberry pancakes. The chicken and waffle was pretty good. The chicken was crispy and flavorful; the waffle was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and had good flavor to it. The blueberry pancakes were pretty disappointing. They were fluffy but very bland and the blueberries were merely topped onto the batter when cooking so the pancakes didn't really have the flavors infused or anything and the pancakes were almost tasteless, the whipped butter didn't help either. They had a variety of coffees here so if you like coffee, there's a lot of options. The portion sizes are pretty generous as well. Overall, this place was okay.. I don't think I'd be back though!

I stopped by this place due to the reviews it was getting. It looked like it was hopping for breakfast. As two guest and I entered, there was a line wrapped around to the back (luckily, it was inside). My husband and I were thinking this place must be good. After waiting 20minutes in line, we finally got to order. I ordered Cajun crawfish omelet (not bad, flavorful, got a star for that), hubby's biscuit and gravy topped with egg (biscuit was dry, was cold), and friend ordered corn beef hash(so dry and cold). On top of that, they charged extra 50cents on each entree that has egg due to a "shortage". We thought, fine, it must be good. We self sat ourselves. We were observing people's orders as we wait for this breakfast to come. We wait... Next thing we know others are getting food that ordered after us. Now, we are hungry. Finally, the omelet comes out. Two minutes later, the biscuit and gravy comes out. We wait... Nothing. We hail the waitress and ask where our corn beef hash order is. She goes into the kitchen for like five minutes. The order comes out. We are all ready to eat. Honestly, what a waste of time. The potatoes, corn beef hash, and biscuits were so dry. The food itself was cold. My hubby did make a suggestion to the waitress that if they are going to serve food, it needs to come out at least warm. They gravy wasn't warm. Overall, atmosphere looked nice, but service and food was "eh". I will not come back.

This place is just barely got a 4 on my standards. It seems that they take pride in ingredients because everything my family had to eat had a "fresh" vibe to it. This was no "Old West Cafe" but will beat out any breakfast chain around. The white gravy here is to me what gave it a 4 over a 3 rating. Super creamy and a little extra special something. I had cheese grits with andouille sausage and it was a 3 I was not super impressed. I know that next time I eat here I will be getting the big breakfast burrito because I saw several people eating it and it was huge! The biggest knock on this place was the parking it it super limited so good luck.

Very friendly owner and staff. Interesting menu - would like to return to try more dishes. Breakfast tacos and banana pancakes were both huge. Great tortillas. Good value for the money. Get there before 10am on Sunday or stand in line with the crowds.

We dined in for a late breakfast on a Tuesday- it wasn't very busy which was nice. We ordered the French Toast/Bananas Foster, Thomas Plate that was egg white, turkey sausage and toast and the Hot Ham and Cheese. The food came out fairly quickly. The Thomas breakfast was good, French toast was good but the Sandwich was way too greasy. The manager asked if we needed an extra plate when she put our food down. We said we did. She never brought one. Also, upon entering she saw us and there was no greeting and our orders were taken with the same indifference as well. The three stars were for the cozy environment, quick service and two out of three meals being good. The manager needs to brush up on her customer service skills.

I went here twice & was not very impressed either time. I actually ended up not finishing either meal just because it was so unappetizing. First time around, I went for breakfast & got the Biscuits and Gravy. It was okay, but the gravy was very watery and the sausage in the gravy seemed too raw for my liking. Second time around, I got the Fish Tacos & quite honestly, they were disgusting. The orange sauce they put on it ruined the tacos completely. It was not your typical orange sauce on fish tacos. Something off there. Possibly over-due. The tortilla was also very thin & was corn. On the menu is says flour. The service is slow & when I went in, I was 1 of 3 people there. That's unacceptable. This restaurant is nothing special & if you don't have to, I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Great little place. Food is great! Only been for breakfast so far but interested to check out dinner on a weeknight for a night off from cooking! You can keep it pretty healthy or go overboard here so there's something for every mood or preference. The seating is tough during peak times aka weekend breakfast/brunch and its requested that you order before seating (which nobody does....you keep one person in line them send one to scout the tables). The annoying part is where the drink and utensils are. It's very crowded and always a cluster. Service is friendly though Nd they keep things clean.

This place has a cute and cozy little vibe. You walk in and its like an old house converted to a restaurant. You stand in line, order, and they bring food out to you. Not my favorite style for breakfast spots but it wasnt bad and there was plenty of seating even during peak hours. The reason this place is only getting 2 stars though, is that my husband and I actually didn't really enjoy the food. I ordered just eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. I could have made all 3 way better at home so I wasn't impressed. My husband ordered chicken and waffles, and the chicken was obviously from a bag, and the waffle was a little dry. I think we both expected something a little more tasty and not so bland in flavor given the popularity of this spot but we were not impressed.

  • Jennifer C.

I would give 5 stars if there was more seating. You walk up to the counter to order your food and then find your own seats. They will bring the food to you. While you are waiting in line to order you can see them bringing the food out to other diners. Everything looked good that they brought out. Large portions of food that fills the plates. The food here is really good. I had spinach, mushroom, egg, and cheese tacos. Two really large portions of burrito size tacos with potatoes. They came out nice and hot. My kids got the blueberry pancakes and they were huge! The prices run from 5.99 to 9.99, so very reasonable for breakfast. Overall it's a good value for the food and the food tastes great. This place could use some additional seating because this place was packed. We will come back and try other foods because I saw other orders that looked really good.

This place started out with a star just for having breakfast all day. Another for having a great selection. A thirds star for friendly employees and the fourth for quick service. I can imagine it's crowded on a weekend, but 1015 on Thursday is great. My son got the kids pancakes and they were well worth it. Two huge cakes, larger than his head, with blueberries. The hubby had the corned beef breakfast...yum! I had the patio breakfast (their basic plate at the top of the menu). Eggs, bacon and toast or a biscuit. I tend to get biscuits when they are homemade. The flavor was great but the product was a bit dry. My sister said the same of the tuna salad...great flavor, but she had to add more mayo to her sandwich All in all it was great. I'd love to come back to try more!

Came here once with a couple of friends and was really let down. There wasn't anything that really wowed me that would make me want to come back. The banana fosters french toast was alright the coffee was mediocre. I feel like this was was over hyped and my friends and I won't be making the drive to come back anytime soon.

I wanted to try a local breakfast place so my husband and I decided to try this place based off of recommendations. I got the buttermilk pancakes which ended up being 3 generously sized pancakes. My husband got the French Toast which was 3 pieces of Texas toast. We were both pleased with the portion sizes. We both also added eggs to our meal. Apparently there's some bird flu problems going on so any meal with eggs was up charged .50 because off egg shortages. We also added a side of bacon to share. The bacon was really our only complaint. It was sooo greasy and floppy. It looked so pale and was definitely not visually appealing. It was on a plate that would have been too small for the bacon had it been crispy and not folded over on itself. We used several paper towels to sop up the grease but it was still not very good. Other than this, my only thought is that they should clean the tables with more than just a wet rag. The syrup containers leak so they leave sticky residue on the tables. We watched a server just wipe down the table with a rag and not wipe down the chairs. This is a cute little place and I would recommend it.

Where else can you get Cap'n Crunch w/ crunch berries on your French toast? Everything we have had here has been pretty good: Cajun scrambler, pancakes, one lets, etc. They offer pastries, which look good but we haven't actually tried them. Limited seating, so get there early or expect to wait for a seat.

Absolutely love this place! Husband and I fell in love with their breakfast (huge portions FYI) and even brought other family members whom all loved it. Great atmosphere. Almost always busy. Great service. Breakfast and Lunch are both great. Breakfast tacos and fish tacos are amazing! Pancakes are the size of the entire plate!! Love :)

I'd like to give it 3.5 Stars..I Like this place. Local and great place to meet for coffee. Came for breakfast with my mom. The cheddar grits amazing as always. Pancakes great. chief complains, Out of coffee . Ordered biscuits and gravy . Biscuits good gravy watery. Got a coconut cream bar. ...Ate that before food came soooo yummy. I like this place and the dinner menu looks good so I will try that next time.

Most amazing menu selection. Staff were great! Loved this little spot. Drive past several times and it didn't look like it was anything special but glad I decided to give it a try! Best breakfast I've had since moving to Frisco from PA!!! Will be my new favorite place for brunch!

Love this place. They are friendly and pretty much have my order down without even asking me. I come for breakfast often. Great place for me to get some work done outside of the office. Portions sizes are generous. Good Value as well.

Perfect place for a Saturday morning breakfast! The hangover hash is incredible even if you don't have a hangover ;) It's a LOT of food! I could def share this plate bc I can never finish it myself. My mother-in-law had the crawfish scramble and absolutely loved it! There's a lot of kids here on Saturday. So I didn't feel bad about my kid being vocal. :)

  • Amanda M.

Disappointed. The corned beef hash was dry and the potatoes were hard. All of it needed lots of salt, pepper and hot sauce to be edible. Cheese grits were very bland. Bananas foster French toast was good. Be prepared for VERY sweet if you get it though.

  • Larissa M.

First time I had the cajun scramble, which was so bland and boring. It needed salt, and the eggs were dry. The bananas foster french toast was cloyingly sweet, and my husband who has the world's biggest sweet tooth couldn't finish it. We ended up here not too long ago with some friends, and I had the dinner special of shrimp tostadas and the man ordered a shrimp po-boy. Both were delicious, but kind of luke-warm. The tostadas were super hard to eat as they were loaded with toppings including avocado, mustard, onions and pico de gallo. The side of rice was a little pathetic in size and kind of cold. Fries were seasoned well and the remoulade with the po-boy was tasty. They do close earlier than you would expect for a dinner establishment, but since they're a little off the main road it makes sense. Counter-service, get your own stuff type of deal. The big thing that bothered me was half of our table got our food, and the other half had to wait a couple of minutes for theirs. In fact, the last plate didn't come out of the kitchen until the first person was almost finished, and by that time, another table that ordered after us has received all of their food.

OK food but the restaurant is way too cramped and extremely warm during the summer. Not a comfortable dining environment.

  • Dani G.

Maybe I should have known better ordering the grits and sausage but I thought why not give it a try. No flavor whatsoever and lacking basic salt and pepper. After I doctored it up with both and a little Tabasco it was somewhat enjoyable but not memorable. Plus they only included two tiny pieces of sausage on top of a heaping portion of grits. My hubby got a shrimp poboy that was ok. Some of the other plates coming out looked ok so I may give this place one more shot.

Been coming here for years and love it! Breakfast is good, but I prefer the dinner menu. The staff is friendly and the desserts are amazing. It fills up fast so you have to wait sometimes for a seat. It's a fairly small place.

So I was visiting a friend near Frisco and she suggested Fifth Street Patio and Cafe as a great place to have breakfast. I'd already fallen for old downtown Frisco (SUPER cute town- who knew?) and so I was happy to have a reason to return. The interior is charming. Its a little pre-war house with a huge patio. It was busy and the line was out the door on a Saturday morning (its counter service) which is good and bad news: good, its probably good, bad, the wait is going to be frustrating. They inadvertently took our number when they brought our juice, and we didn't notice until ten minutes later that it was gone, so we had to go fetch a new number. Not sure if it was a screw-up but all in all our breakfast took over 30 minutes to get to us. At this point I was planning to review them poorly BUT...as it turns out the breakfast is really out of this world!! Their fried potatoes were the best I've ever eaten, and the spinach mushroom tacos were awesome. The order was huge- big enough to split- so we got out of breakfast for like under $10. They were also very apologetic about the wait and the gal at the counter gets huge kudos for handling fire under pressure. Also, they almost earn that fifth star back for serving breakfast past 11. I move SLOWLY on Saturday mornings and I hate when places stop serving breakfast at 10 or 11. Now I'm just disappointed I don't live closer.

Always crowded, but that's a great sign, right? The best breakfast in Frisco! The portions are HUGE so be mindful when you're thinking, "everything looks so tasty!" Each dish I've ever ordered is enough for two...

It's always a challenge finding delicious, brunch places in the Dallas area, so when my friends and I came across this cute little gem in the middle of nowhere, we were pleasantly surprised. The location is pretty far out and secluded, but the restaurant was PACKED, which is a good sign - people actually go out of their way to eat here, I guess! Their belgian waffle was SO fluffy, probably one of the fluffiest waffles I have ever had in my life. I highly recommend their Bananas Foster French Toast - the brown sugar rum sauce was amazing. I was using my fork to clean the sauce off the plate so as not to waste any of its deliciousness. Their tuna & swiss melt was alright and their fries were sort of soggy and just not very good - if you're going to spend $8.50 on anything at this cafe, there are many more satisfying options. But seriously, their breakfast foods - waffles, pancakes, french toast - are wonderful, and this place was just so quaint.

Their breakfast may be good according to the reviews but not good for lunch. The turkey sandwich and tuna salad were some of the worst I've had. We were going to order curry chicken but was told by the staff not to, because it wasn't very good.

What a great place. I've driven by this place several times and always thought to stop and check it out. From the time I stepped in, the staff was welcoming and happy. The customers were happy and pleasant. It was like being at Disney and walking around with Minnie Mouse, EVERYONE HAD A SMILE. I love great service and I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I walked in this place. I told the gentleman at the counter it was my first time there; hearing this, a gentleman that worked there made a couple suggestions on what I should try. I BLEW IT. I order the patio breakfast. What I ordered was yummy, but as I sat and ate, my view was of the wall with the menu. I read the menu while I ate and realized ordering eggs and bacon here was like going to Ruth Chris and having a Cobb Salad. I will be back and can't wait to try other items in the menu. Here's the other major plus; the prices are super reasonable. I look forward to my next opportunity to dine here. I think I will bring the family with me!! Some may say, why 5 stars when all you had was the Patio Breakfast and coffee? I gave 5 stars because everything I experienced here, including the food, was wonderful. I'm about the experience, this place makes me happy!

Fifth Street Patio and Café is a charming quick service restaurant in downtown Frisco that specializes in serving up breakfast, brunch, & lunch fair. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food) Atmosphere - Fifth Street Patio and Café is located in a building that resembles a large house. It's hard to tell if it is a renovated house or if it was built to look like one. Nonetheless it's warm, cozy, and has the perfect feel for a place that specializes in breakfast, brunch, & lunch. Of course there's outdoor seating as well. Really cool restaurant! 1 Star. Service - This is a quick/counter service restaurant, which means you order at the counter, get a number, & your order comes out. You also grab your own coffee, etc. They're fine in this regard, but Fifth Street Patio and Café is the type of place that SCREAMS to have waiter service. Brunch should be laissez faire. You know, sit back, enjoy your meal, and let someone refill your cup of coffee. Any ways, this is only my opinion of what I would have liked Fifth Street Patio and Café to be. Otherwise I had no issue with the service. 1 Star. Food - I went with Banana's Foster French Toast, and like most people have mentioned, you get three generous slices of French toast. The bananas taste great, but for me the caramel is a little too much and drowns out the dish where it's way too sweet. If you like sweet it's for you, as for me I would consider ordering it sans caramel sauce. The Andouille sausage grits, on the other hand, were very good. I'm not an expert on grits, but they were tasty (maybe a tad salty) with great texture. The sausage was grilled and had a smoked flavor. So while the French toast was a miss for me, the grits were not. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Sorry, it's too far of a drive for me. There are lots of great brunch restaurants worth driving to in order to eat a signature dish (see Jonathan's of Oak Cliff's chicken & waffles). For me, Fifth Street Patio and Café lacks the hook that would have me coming back. Those who live in Frisco have a great option here, everyone else should decide if it's worth your drive. No Stars. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Awful!! The manager was outright ignoring us... she talked to the people in line ahead of us, and the people behind us. When we were sitting at our table she asked every table except ours how the food was and engaged in conversations with them. The layout of this place is terrible. When we entered we had to wait by the smelly bathrooms (not very welcoming) and people were walking past us back and forth to the kitchen and there was hardly any room for us to stand so we would have to move over everytime. The order was messed up, we didn't get our drinks till much after our food came. It was odd because my husband got his coffee first but we didn't get our orange juices. The food was awful.... my husbands chicken fried steak was chewy, hard and overcooked, covered in gravy, it tasted like it was 3 days old. I ordered the corned beef hash and the potatoes were hard and dried up. The cheese on top was burnt all over the whole dish. My sons belgian waffles were okay, but nothing that I would come back for. Overall, this place needs to expand and open a new location. The area is hell to park in and it's super difficult to get in and out of.

I was fairly disappointed with this place. The layout is just not fitted for so much business and it was nearly impossible to walk anywhere. The service was mediocre at best. We got the captain crunch French toast and the Berrys foster French toast and they were just okay, nothing really to write home about. The kids pancakes were ginormous and pretty inexpensive, but they tasted kind of salty? If we ever go back, I'd like to try the breakfast tacos. But for the most part, it was a sub-par experience with sub-par food and sub-par service.

I think this was once a great place but they can't keep up with demand. Because of their logistics issues, the quality has diminished considerably. I maybe ate 1/4th of my meals. The cashier is doing two jobs. Phone and counter orders. That causes a big gap with service level since they can't balance both. They need a second person. The corned beef hash was dry. The potato while plentiful are oily and taste old. I think the fryer or oil should be changed or cleaned. The staff is obviously stressed. No one says hello. No one thanks for your business. No smiles. I drove all the way from Addison to spend $25 on a dish I wouldn't give my dog. Harsh, but all true. Oh and they have a fly problem.

Friendly staff and great food at this small cafe in old Frisco. I tried the pico shrimp tacos on a recent visit and it was excellent. Lunch options were plentiful and dessert portions were huge. I'll come back to check out their breakfast soon.

I like this place. Nice patio, but it needs to be larger since there's only three tables, and let's be honest-- outside eating is a lot nicer considering it does get hectic busy in there for breakfast and lunch. Their bananas foster french toast is good. VERY sweet at first. I could taste the rum if I put my mind to it, but me and my boyfriend tasted caramel as the predominant flavor, and I tasted a sea salt flavor to it as well. Great as leftovers. Needs more *sliced* bananas. Their side of eggs comes with toast. The eggs sunny side up were done perfectly and were very delicious with the toast. I wasn't a huge fan of the jalapeno cream soup. It's great as a sauce for the potatoes that come served with the burrito that's often on the special menu, but as a soup it didn't float my or my boyfriend's boats. As a sauce, 4.5 stars. As a soup, 2 stars. Potatoes were tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the burrito. It was too heavy with the green onions and the meet and needed some sort of starch to fluff it up a little bit and give it a better "mouth feel" for me. Prices were decent. Wish it was open later. Oh, and I don't know if it was because I'd ordered a to go to be brought to my table with my in-house order, but I had to go ask for my order after like 20-25 minutes and even though the counter girl covered well, I got the impression they forgot about my order. It happens. It just was a bummer consider what a madhouse it was in there. Went back another time for dinner, and my boyfriend ordered a shrimp poboy. Though the fried crust on the shrimp seemed thick, it actually tasted light with a light sweetness to it from the thousand island flavored dressing that came with it. The cucumber/tomato salad that came on the side? Total waste. Covered in some sort of thick wine-like vinegar that made my mouth pucker. He and I were only able to take one bite each out of it before leaving it to be thrown away, and we are not ones to throw out food. However, I like the place, my boyfriend likes it and we'll definitely come back. Oh, and no flies during the two visits we went.

Went to dinner prior to a FC Dallas game because of the proximity to the stadium and initially we were the only customers at 5:30 on a Saturday night. A few folks came in while we were there but for a while it was like having our own private restaurant. The staff was great and the food was as well. We had a party of six and had six different entrees, everyone of them were delicious and all were priced under $10. Breakfast, salads, and sandwiches are served all day in addition to a dinner menu with a few daily specials thrown in the mix.

Went there for the first time for breakfast. Heard they have great menus. I ordered the Belgian Waffles and my husband order the corn beef hash. The waffles taste great and it didn't taste like those out of a box mix. The waffles tasted like it was made with whole grain flour or something similar. The waffle came with some blueberry and whip cream, of course. The corn hash was actually chunks of meat, with chunks of potatoes too and it came with toast and an egg (how ever you want it. He got is sunny side up). The interior is really nicely decorated. It has a small diner feel. We are planning to go back for some cajun menu that they have.

I was shocked to see this gem didn't have a full five-star rating. It's my favorite brunch spot. If the loaded breakfast burrito is on the special menu (has been every time I've gone), order it. The jalapeno sauce it's topped with is to die for. And, oh, the desserts. I made a mistake once purchasing a peanut butter brownie, so now I have to get one every time I go; I have to get it to-go though, because I'm so full from my meal. I will recognize the owner behind the counter isn't the warm and fuzzy type (once made a negative comment on my shirt), BUT she is nice in her own way and runs a fantastic place.

Wonderful. They also have gluten-free options (corned beef hash - just sub the toast for corn tortillas) and the service is amazing. This place is darling, in an old house, and the owner is an absolute sweetheart.

  • Katie C.

AMAZING brunch! I get the loaded burrito and usually have enough left over for my man to get 3-4 bites. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the ambiance, sometimes it is loud and crowded (which they cannot help) but the food is so good, not even crowds deter us from venturing there!

  • Brad S.

Lemon Brownie: AMAZING. Its like having lemon cake but more dense. Onion Soup: good flavor, lots of onions, not too salty. French fries: unfortunatly the frozen variety but they had some good seasoning salt Kentucky Hot Brown: good sandwich with thick fresh bread, real bacon, some type of cheese sauce that tasted good, and delicious turkey. The restaurant is in a converted house in downtown frisco. It's counter service which I wasn't expecting. I would come every day just for the lemon brownie.

I drove past the cafe several times, and finally decided to try it out. It looks like a quaint, homey cafe. The food listed on the menu looked tasty, and I was very tempted to try the breakfast items. The place is cute, decorated great and looks pretty clean overall! I ordered the 1/2 Turkey sandwich and jalapeno soup cup, for $8. To be honest, that's $2 more than it should be for the quantity of food. A literal cup of soup- no matter how good- shouldn't be $4. My second complaint is with the sandwich. It was half the slice of a normal loaf of bread from the store, so it was a good serving size, however it was toasted in oil so it was really greasy and dripping. The cheese for the turkey was Kraft process cheese squares- and hadn't even been melted completely. Meanwhile, while I am eating my lunch and watching the kitchen - which is open to view from the dining area- I keep seeing the three cooks swatting at flies with a fly-swatter until one finally kills the fly with his spatula, scrapes it off the counter-top, and goes around the corner to I can only hope wash the spatula thoroughly. I have no idea, but if you expect to have a fly problem I hope a restaurant owner could find a better method of solving it- instead of standing by and watching your employees kill flies on and with their cooking utensils.

Ate here today for the first time! Wow, what yummmmmmy food at a hole-in-the-wall type establishment. The line was all the way to the door the entire time! I had the breakfast tacos and my husband had the cajun crawfish scramble. Both were excellent! Seating is hard to come by, but that's because they're so busy. If you're the kind of person who likes to sit and talk for an hour after eating, or who wants to sit and read the paper, DON'T go here. I think it's inconsiderate to the other patrons who are standing around waiting for a table. Go in, order your food, eat, and freaking LEAVE when you're done! (And maybe even straighten up your table a little bit so the waitstaff can clean your table quickly!) [Sorry discourteous people annoy me.] I highly recommend stopping in here for a bite! We waited over 55 minutes for our food to come out of the kitchen, but it was worth the wait! We only spent $18 on our meals and the portion sizes were H U G E! I will most definitely go back - hope to see an expansion in their future so they can accommodate the gigantic crowd they're pulling in!

Recently went to Fifth Street Patio and Cafe for the first time and had a fairly good experience. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the hangover hash, which was their special for the day and really enjoyed it. My friends loved their pancakes. The only thing I wasn't really that impressed with was that you order up front, take a number for your food and then sit down. By some weird happening, I (who ordered last) got my food way before two of my friends who had ordered first. I was almost done eating before their food even arrived. Since I've only been once, I'm not sure if this was a fluke or not. I would go again, but would make everyone order together and split the check ourselves rather than sit and eat while others were still waiting. And normally, I would've waited to eat, but we had just run a race and we were all starving!

First off, I like supporting local businesses so this seemed like it was right up my alley. Top rated by Yelp reviewers in Frisco for brunch so another checkmark. I find YELP is awesome for floating the best brunch places to the top and this was an excellent find for us. Tucked away off Main Street in Frisco I had driven by this place TONS of times and never realized it. Our experience on Saturday, September 2nd, 2011. Nice ambiance & good quality food that seems positioned for the local "foodie" niche. I had Bananas Foster French Toast and my wife had HUGE buttermilk pancakes. We got some toast and eggs to split and complement the other food. We ended up with a "to go" box for hers since the pancakes were enormous and quite thick. Eggs were large sized and rich in flavor. Bananas Foster French Toast was delicious, as I anticipated it would be. The pancakes were HUGE and fluffy. Good quality food, nice ambiance and you have to pay for that....I have no issues with that at all. It isn't for everyone. Price wasn't the cheapest - not outrageously priced either but $7.99 for mine, $5.99 for my wife's pancakes, $2.99 for two eggs, 2 drinks. We were at $23 or so when it was done. One reason I didn't give it five stars. FLIES. When serving food indoors patrons don't like flies. Some other reviewers have mentioned this. I am NOT camping. It doesn't bother me so much but my wife wouldn't eat anything that flies landed on. The couple sitting next to us said the flies were "fierce in here" per what my wife overheard. It appears that the restaurant owners have launched "The Dive" on Preston and also own a local cake store as well as they cross-sell them heavily in the location. I wish the owners nothing but the best of luck. We'll try the restaurant out another time but, if the flies persist, we won't be consistent customers. If you find this valuable please click below to let people know.

I just don't know if I could like a place more than this. The service was fantastic. Very friendly and fast. The food was some of the best we've had in a long time. Best biscuits and gravy I've ever had, loved the grits, and my husband was surprised at how good the breakfast tacos were. And it's such a cute little place. I read a review that someone thought it should be bigger, but I think it would lose some of it's charm if it was. I just thought the whole experience was perfect. It's our new favorite place and we can't wait to go back.

This place is awesome! It's wonderful to have such nice local businesses to support. Totally reminds me of places in Asheville, NC that I loved. Great food, great breakfast. The bananas foster French toast was delicious, but sweet. I could only eat half. I thought there was too much sauce. Yummy cinnamon coffee. Free wifi. Great, cool atmosphere. I wish they had crepes!

I am not a girl who is easily skeeved out by creepy crawlies, I promise...but...OMG. The most "memorable" aspect of this visit were the HUNDREDS OF FLIES that were swarming the dining room throughout the duration of our lunch. It was the worst I have ever seen, by far, at any establishment. We had already ordered and paid at the counter before we discovered the insect "situation"...otherwise, I assure you I would not be Yelping about this experience...because we would have left. At least I was able to amuse myself by watching the other patrons swat away flies while they tried to eat their lunch. This is really more like a 2.5 star experience for me. The only reason I am not subtracting more stars is that I am uncertain as to whether this was an isolated incident. With that out of the way, I thought that the food was decent- not great but not bad. I had the fish tacos ($8.99), which consisted of blackened tilapia topped with cole slaw tossed with a remoulade sauce, served with rice and a side of some sort of sauce that tasted a lot like tomato soup. Interestingly, the business's website states that the fish tacos are served with "tomatoes and provolone cheese"...they are not. The fish was fresh and of good quality, however one of the tacos was severely "understuffed", i.e. the tortilla to fish ratio was way out of whack. The rice was not good. It had no flavor. My fiancee had the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo ($7.99), with the curried chicken salad sandwich and jalapeno soup. I tried a bite of his sandwich, and I thought the chicken salad was gross- it had an odd sweetness to it, and an overpowering celery flavor. He seemed to enjoy it though, so I guess that's just a matter of personal preference. He said the soup was good, but I didn't try it. Overall, the food wasn't BAD, but it didn't knock my socks off, and it certainly didn't make up for the fly invasion. I also felt like everything was priced about 15-20% higher than it needed to be based on the quality of the food. Some of the baked goods near the register looked pretty yummy, but we didn't sample anything, so I can't comment beyond that. Finally, the atmosphere didn't do it for me...in fact, I think it detracted from this experience. The dining room was very small and cramped- We had to squeeze past tables and ask people to push their chairs in to get our drink refills. Speaking of drink refills, the beverage area was kind of gross. Everything was wet/sticky/crawling with flies. Fiancee wants to go back and try breakfast stuff. I don't think I'd go back on my own.

LOVE this place!! Let's see... chilaquile, tacos, captain crunch french toast, pancakes, coffee, dessert.. I can go on and on. I usually go there for breakfast but I have been there for lunch once and had some kind of pesto sandwich - good too. The only bad thing about this place is the wait time, but this should be expected - worth the wait.

I have been searching for THE fish taco in the N Texas area going on 6 years now. There was a place in GA (I know, surprising, huh?) that had the most amazing fish tacos ever. I have since Been searching both all over the DFW area and Austin and have finally found the closest thing to it at 5th Street. If they would add some grilled onions and grilled large jalepenos it would be the most perfect, heavenly creation ever. Also- the breakfast foods are sublime. I had the breakfast burrito with a jalepeno cream sauce on it and all I can say is "glurgh, slurp, YUM". (insert satiated happy grin here).

We went for Sunday brunch and that was our first mistake. Second came when we walked up to the door and saw the line waiting to order. Third was deciding to stay and give it a try. It is set up for you to get in line, order, then go to your table. NOT!!! I assume it was timing but this did not work. We were standing out the front door just to be in line to order. I guess the amount of people made it seem like it was worth the wait. Once we were inside, it was way to crowded with customers who had ordered and no table available for them to sit. Add to that the customers still waiting to actually place an order, the wait staff and bus people trying to move around the seated tables and many swinging doors it made it totally impossible to not be in someones way at all times! Once the order is placed you are suppose to find a table, but none were to be found. You literally had to be waiting to pounce if you noticed someone finishing their meal. After finally stalking a table, we then had to retrieve our silverware, napkins, drinks and any other things needed to prepare for our meal (that arrived 40 minutes later) from one of two stations located in the seating areas. I had to track down someone to fill the jar with creamer at the coffee station. One butter packet was all that was to be found at either station and three of the four forks I picked up still had food on them. I found one spoon and two knives so we shared. If I had not already paid I would have walked out at this point. I am sorry, but even if it was not a common occurrence to be so busy (which I suspect is not the case) this was unacceptable. Unclean cutlery is gross but when it is a problem on almost all of the utensils it seems like a health hazard. If you expect me to get my own condiments, napkins and other things then I EXPECT you to keep them well stocked. I do not appreciate having to track down someone to ask for needed items to have them simply disappear with out a word only to return several minutes later to open a door where i was standing and retrieve the needed items with out even uttering a word much less a simple sorry for your inconvenience. The food was good but trust me when I say it wasn't that good. The time spent/wasted is not worth it. Add on the sheer aggravation that goes along with the dining experience made it easy for me to say never again!!!

It's all good. Now that they opened the overflow gift shop there is room for the lunch crowd. Food is great!

Great hole in the wall breakfast joint in the FRISCO area. I consider myself a corned beef hash connoisseur and this place has the best corned beef hash I've ever had in my life! I'm so glad we found it, it was open on Easter, and I can't wait to go back and try the lunch or dinner menu. They do serve breakfast until 3:00 pm on Sat and Sun so it may be difficult to pull away from the corned beef hash if it's still breakfast time the next time we go!

Great food. They skimp on the condiments. Food is Delicous, but when you use crappy generic Sysco ketchup and syrup, it totally detracts from the food. Use to go there twice a week. Now, only once a month because management is too cheap to spent a few extra dollars on condiments, hence it makes the food taste like dog doo.. Sorry. Make the change an ill come back.

The food here is mostly amazing. I've never been a fan of going out for breakfast but now I am just because of this place. The meals are large enough for my boyfriend and I to share. We keep ordering Mexican themed specials such as chorizo tacos or a brisket scramble. The hot sauce with the breakfast isn't the best according to my boyfriend, but I enjoy it. We are very into breakfast tacos for small Mexican taquerias, and the specials here remind me of those. However, I ordered the regular breakfast tacos one day, not a special, and they were incredibly bland. I didn't even eat them because of it. However I have kept going back knowing I will just order one of the specials. The desserts here are mostly to die for. We only had one that wasn't worth eating, the smores ganache. All the brownies and cookies have been to die for. It has started to become my boyfriend and I's ritual to come here for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday, and order a dessert to go to eat on Sunday night at home. The problem is that this place is tiny. Luckily, they just expanded and were able to add a few more tables. Also, I've never had to wait for a table. I do have to complain about the soda fountain area. Ok, so this is not a place where you are waited on, so you fill up your own drink (totally fine with me). Next to the soda fountain is a long counter with napkins, straws, lids, sauces, etc. The problem is that this area is right next to tables and it's always crowded. You have to squeeze past a ton of people. If the owner is reading this, I would recommend putting this area in the new area with the new seating. That area looked a lot more open. But I realize it may be hard to move all of that. The TV in here is always showing cooking shows, which is very fun and appropriate.

We went on the busiest day for restaurants-Mothers Day. And yes, it was packed, the line was out to the parking lot. But don't let that dissuade you. Once you order at the counter, you can grab a table and there are plenty of them. We were a little thrown off, because we didn't see on Yelp that this restaurant was COUNTER SERVICE. I will admit, we were disappointed. The menu was incredible though...and once we got up to the front of the counter line there were specials on a chalkboard. We ordered the Banana's Foster French Toast, the Breakfast Tacos, and off of the "specials" the Chorizo & Egg Tacos, and the Country Breakfast that included biscuits and gravy, eggs and potatoes. So yeah, we tried a lot. And actually, the Cheese Grits remained untried so we will be back when we come back to Texas! Everything was really good. The Banana's Foster French Toast was wayyyyyyyyy sweet, so it was good that there were 3 of us trying it, along with our savory dishes. It was really good though, but I can't see ordering it as your main dish unless you have a serious sweet tooth. The Breakfast tacos were awesome, the potatoes were perfectly crispy for home fries., and the fact that they have Cholula is huge in my eyes, because I am not a Tabasco lover. We finished with a chocolate chocolate chip cookie which was awesome too! I love to support local business and this place was great! Prepare for a wait and a crowd, but the faces are friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant!

Cute little cottage like home that has been converted into a cafe. They serve a mixture of breakfast food, sandwiches, pasta, salad and some freshly made pastries. Banana foster french toast - Mmm Yummm. Good to share it with a group of people for dessert! Pesto Chicken Sandwich - not bad! Italian Chicken Sandwich - my absolute favorite! Love the foccacia bread! Breakfast Tacos with spinach, egg & mushroom - simple but the accompanying sauce is sooo good! Love the sides of pan fried potatoes though more seasoning would be better. Cajun Crawfish scramble - pretty good! The lady who took my orders both times was extremely friendly. Service was prompt on a busy day. Prices are decent. I love how they portion everything well and they do not overload their food with grease or salt! Definitely left this place lighter than if I were to step out of Ihop.

My weekly routine is the Patio Breakfast with egg whites, crisp bacon, no toast, a side of fruit, orange juice and coffee. The total is $11.30. Can't find a better price anywhere for the quality of the food and ambiance! Plus, I like supporting a locally-owned business. :)

Our first visit was underwhelming, but the second was stellar. asking the person running the register what's good or popular may have been the difference. definitely a busy place, and if you are picky about pancakes at all, probably best to order something else... they were bland, but the burger, French toast, chilaquiles were great.

This is a Sunday morning brunch go-to place for me. Each time I go, the line leads from the check out to the back of the building (which isn't huge). To me, that shows the quality of the food and desire of it as well. People come back and are willing to wait 15 minutes in line to order captain crunch french toast ;-). I love this little place. Definitely a place to bring the whole family or just you and your Lova. I've had the pleasure of enjoying the Mr. Thomas Breakfast - which is the healthier option on the menu for you fit-freaks. And I truly, madly, deeply LOVE french toast. So I've had the captain crunch french toast- it's a winner! If you're interested in a great brunch, try this place. If you have kids - show up before ten or around ten to skip the line. yummmmmy.

We went for Saturday brunch. There was a long line to order but it was well worth the wait. They brought us the food fairly quickly. I had the hangover hang and it was wonderful. The atmosphere was cute and the portions were generous. I will definitely return.

Cozy little place where you can get awesome food. This is a bit of a trendy place with good food in a small house. Get there early for Sunday breakfast and you will have a meal that you will not be disappointed with. They also help the community with Turkey dinners for the needy and overall they are a great asset to Frisco.

Ambiance - it's a cute spot for breakfast/brunch, a little house in Frisco Food - the breakfast food is good, their menu is extensive & the portions are HUGE. Thought the coffee was a little watered down tasting though Service - the service is friendly, but every time I've been I've had the same issue as other reviewers, the wait time is too long. I've only been on weekends late morning, & have had to wait around 40-45 minutes after ordering, & everyone at my table got their food at different times. So come here for good breakfast food but be ready to wait in line/at the table for your food if you're here on a weekend

I came in for lunch with my wife. I figured I had 1.5 hours for lunch so we should find a nice cafe and hang out. We came here largely due to the positive Yelp reviews but did not have a good experience. First, we had to stand in a long line extending to the front door from the register, which took a good 20 minutes to get our order in so they could start making our food. When we finally ordered, we found a table, which was a bit of a miracle in itself. We had plenty of time to talk to other people in the line so I was very aware of who was in line behind us, and very disappointed when 2 of the groups received all of their food before we received ours. We only ordered two sandwiches. One of the people who were behind us who received his food before us ordered the same sandwich I did. I was not happy and after waiting 40 minutes (seriously...) and asked the person at the register to make our order "to go" since we would not have time to eat it in the restaurant now. We had been there an hour at this point and still had to drive back. One of the owners must have noticed my not looking happy and came over to apologize for the wait. She explained that they could not keep up with the lunch rushes and that they did not have many "business types" who had to get back to work so typically people can wait. I told her this was my first experience there and that I would not be back because I was so disappointed. She gave us a free meal coupon to come try them again "when I was not in a hurry" (1.5 hours is in a hurry here). She did say they expanded their kitchen to add another grill so it may be faster for customers in the future once they figure out how to use both grills at once - they had just done the update to the kitchen and had not worked it out yet. I thanked her for the coupon and took our food home. My wife and I agreed we would give them another shot if the food was good. But.... The food was not good. I had the Reuben with coleslaw and my wife had the Curry chicken salad sandwich with fries. I can make better sandwiches than this on my own. In fact, in the time it took them to make it I could have run to Kroger, bought the same quality ingredients, and made it at my house. I was really expecting a better sandwich. The coleslaw tasted notably strange. I did not care for this place and will not be back. It was a nice attempt to save our business by the manager but in the end, the food was not worth the hassle.

One of my new favorite places to eat. Have had the Reuben sandwich and the Chicken Fried steak. I have also split a few of the deserts with others. Have had the Reeses butter cup brownie, the Pecan pie and another brownie dessert. Everything I have had there is awesome, service is great and prices are more than fair. The times I have been there, seating has not been an issue but I can see how the place could get crowded quickly. It is worth the wait though.

We've been here twice, and we can't wait to go back. Both times it was for brunch, but I'm sure their lunch/dinner options are just as delicious. My boyfriend has had the waffle and sausage links both times, and he says that the sausage links are the best he's ever had. I've had the crawfish scramble and I've had their bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast tacos. Both were excellent and would totally get again. Their potatoes are really nice and crispy. Orange juice tastes fresh, and the coffee was very nice and not bitter. The lemon bar was wonderful with great flavor and texture. The ONLY food item we did not care for are the biscuits. They were extremely dense and heavy. The inside tasted like flour and not the buttery, flaky biscuits we know and love from being homemade. However, we can get past this because everything else was amazing.

We had two specials that we were excited about......and the quality wasn't what I expected. I'm not sure if it was an off day but it seemed like it was a rush job. With all of the places to eat in the vicinity, hopefully it is a one time experience

    3. wanted to check out this place and it was slammed. it didn't make me emotional but its what i call "safe". i got breakfast for lunch whcih is great. waffles were definitely not your standard hotel batter but nothing that much better to be honest. im sure the sandwiches are better. the amount of desserts is insane and they look amazing. i need to go back and will review after i try their sandwiches. JEANS: OK by far ORDER: at counter then they bring it to you

LOVE! I have been here just a few times and every single time the food has been just wonderful. It's a little bit out of the way and you definitely have to fight the crowds if you're looking for a weekend brunch spot, but so worth it! My favorite is the Italian chicken sandwich served on toasted foccacia bread. YUM! If I can ever make myself order something different, it will definitely be the french toast because it looks amazing. My only complaint is I wish they would offer a 1/2 sandwich, 1/2 salad combo, or choice of a salad as a side. The only options they have now are chips, fries, or the daily special (pasta salad usually). Of the desserts, I highly recommend the Reese's brownie. It is big enough to feed an army and only $3.50! (Cheesecake Factory charges over $7...just sayin.) Minus one star for the parking and long wait on occassion (the line backs up with the ordering process), but the food is FAB.

It's not the best thing to ever happen in life. It's moderately priced around 7-8 a plate. I never saw any flies as some people have said. What I did see was a good atmosphere that made you feel almost like a high class small town eatery. Three of us went and we all ate everything. I like to think that I can make a mean breakfast but I learned somethings. It's worth the stop and it's even better just to get a way from all the 'main stream' junk we always get. Good: * Quantity, two gigantic breakfast taco's like you made them at home. * The first bite was so damn good. I wasn't even hungry but I knew from the first bite there would be none left. * Unique menu. Nothing crazy but they had something for everyone. * A bunch of cheerleaders or something just happened to gather there, score. Bad: *Small place, there were seats and it had that small personal vibe

This is a great little cafe in downtown Frisco. My wife and I had been looking for a place like this - a hole in the wall breakfast from scratch joint. The menu is huge! I'll have to come back and try lunch or dinner food. I ordered the corned beef hash which was fantastic! My only "complaint" because it's not a huge deal, was that the hash comes with cheese but it is not noted on the menu. Unfortunately I'm lactose intolerant and since I've never seen hash with cheese before I didn't think to ask. But, they were very accommodating and remade the dish. I did offer to pay again because it really wasn't their fault but they didn't charge me. Overall, I think it is a great little place. The food came out fast. Scratch made dishes are a plus for me. I will definitely be back.

Food was okay. Prices were bit high but not outrageous. You can check out the website for full menu and prices. I ordered the Crawfish Scramble. Plenty of crawfish tails and sausage but it needed more eggs. If they added another egg or two into the scramble, it'd be a great dish. The accompanying potatoes were just okay. I found the potato piece too large. I prefer the smaller cut potatoes that are more crunchy/crispy. You order at a counter and the food is brought out to the table. The lady who took the order was unfriendly and totally unhelpful. The coffee pot was empty so I wasn't able to get any coffee until I was 1/2 done with my meal. I doubt I'd ever go back. There are way better choices for me to waste my time and money at this joint.

I was tired of fighting the crowds at Breadwinners in Plano to get brunch. I hit Yelp, found the 5th Street Patio Cafe and decided to give it a try. What I found was a cozy, friendly brunch spot that reminded me of so many Austin-style restaurants. To top it off, the menu was chock full of brunch delights and the food was top-notch. I'm so glad I found an amazing brunch spot close to home in Frisco. I'll be back soon!!

Check us out at BLOG.THEBRUNCHBLOG.COM From the curb to the quaint patio, to the kitchen-backed cash register and help-yourself condiment counter, this family-friendly Frisco cafe hits the spot on a Saturday morning! The menu (picture #3) boasts a wide variety of choices ranging from $6-12, including Breakfast, Salads, Pastas Sandwiches and unique desserts. The owner proudly boasts about the Bananas Foster French Toast and the day's special- Big Loaded Burrito (both in picture #2). But you may also want to try the Breakfast Tacos or Cajun Crawfish Scramble if you desire something with a little kick! And by all means please do not forget to pick up a homeade dessert located at the counter. (See the decadent delight I chose in picture #5) Not only is the food, pallet-pleasing, but the service was friendly as well. Whether it was a waiter checking on us to see if we needed anything else or a smile from one of the cooks, this was a great dining experience. Although there no overflow of parking spaces in the parking lot, you will find more spaces available on 5th street. So here is the run-down: First, review the menu by the entrance (picture #3). After placing your order with the cashier, grab your beverage of choice and silverware at the condiment counter. Although the restaurant does not have an abundance of tables, there always seems to be just enough available to keep up with the customer flow. Don't forget to keep the patio area as a seating option as well (picture #4)...it might be just what you need on a "Texas-cool" Spring day. A member of the smiling-wait staff will bring your entree to your table based on the Number Plate provided by the cashier. Tips are appreciated! This is a highly recommended brunch option, and deserving of a 4-Mimosa Rating. It would be 5 if they actually served Mimosas! Check us out at BLOG.THEBRUNCHBLOG.COM

First time here!! Upon arrival, the line was out the door and those waiting in line assured us that it's worth the wait and they were right!! We had the Bananas Foster French Toast and Brisket Scramble. When I gave my husband half of my french toast, the man sitting at table next to us leaned over and said "she must really love you to give you half." We cleaned out plates and will definitely be back!

I feel like Randy Jackson reviewing the 5SPC. I wanted to like you, dawg, I really did, but it wasn't happening for me. I have been twice to the cafe. The first time was, meh. The food was ok, nothing special, a little expensive compared to other similar restaurants, but fine cafe food. The second time, they made multiple mistakes on our order, and our waitress actually gave our food to another table. I heard the other table talking about getting food they hadn't ordered. For whatever reason, that didn't stop them from digging in. By the time the waitress figured out what had happened, they had to make our food over again. The sad thing was that no apology was offered. Two things I really like about the cafe is their decor and location. The outside is a cape cod style building, with cute siding. The inside is light and bright, and they have large flat panel tvs playing the Food Network, or at least they did when I was there. I loved that. Also, downtown Frisco has nothing like the cafe at all, so its really nice to have something different in the area.

I found this place by happenstance. Just driving down a random road with a hunger for breakfast-type food, this place caught my eye and lured me to pull over. I suppose it was the outdoor patio with its red and orange modern designed chairs contrasted with black tables, combined with the interesting architecture that stood out from the surrounding buildings that got my attention. Interior Walking inside, I was met with a surprisingly much nicer interior than I had expected. The counter featured mosaic tiles with autumn colored pastels, a regal shade of red, and dark wood stained chairs and tables. The corner directly across from the counter features a wonderful seating area with a raised-ceiling, large rounded-triangular table with raised seating, shared leather benches accommodating 6 comfortably and up to 9 for close friends, all surrounded by tall two-story windows to allow for a spacious feel. A modern-deco chandelier hangs above this area giving a soft, comfortable light. The rest of the restaurant is dotted with hanging halogens giving clear lighting to a pristine interior. All tables feature a simple centerpiece of a few fresh autumn colored flowers in a tall glass vase along with a salt/pepper combo. Their kitchen is open-faced to the seating area so customers can see the going-ons of the restaurant crew. The service was very friendly, sociable, and helpful. Ceiling-mounted black speakers provide easy listening tunes. Tunes that I recognized included John Mayer, some country tunes, Santana, The "Men in Black" theme song, nothing inappropriate or at a volume that would interfere a conversation with friends. Tall, child booster seats sit stacked against a wall to accommodate those with young ones. 5th Street Patio Cafe's interior was overall very clean with no mess to found on floors or elsewhere. Interestingly, their menu also indicates that the cafe is available to rent for those wanting to host private parties. Much to my pleasant surprise, they also feature free, open Wi-Fi with plenty of electrical outlets to plug in to. The Food 5th Street Patio Cafe's menu features a nicely varied selection of Breakfast items, Salads, Pastas, and Sandwiches. A baker comes in the morning to bake an assorted collection of mini cupcakes, muffins, bars, cookies, and brownies. Their menu also advertises catering for their bakery items, such as designer cakes for special events. Some breakfast include buttermilk pancakes, french toast, breakfast tacos, belgian waffles, and traditional bacon, eggs, and toast sets. Salads provided options such as asian chicken, tuna, chicken curry, and an interesting fried shrimp remoulade. Pastas are their smallest menu section with three dishes to choose from. Sandwiches come in a wide variety of styles from their self-titled 5th street reuben, fried shrimp po-boy, burgers (cooked to order), quesadillas, and even fish tacos. Sandwich orders come with the side of the day, chips, or fries. Their menu is also conveniently made available on their website. My order of applewood bacon and egg tacos with fried potatoes and salsa with orange juice came just under $10 and was pretty good. It reminded of a dish from Le Peep. The tacos came folded in soft flour tortillas with a chopped combination of tasty bacon and eggs. The potatoes were served diced in large portions skin-on and fried lightly with simple seasoning. Crispy on the outside and steamy hot on the inside, the potatoes were prepared just right with an even-cooked softness throughout. The salsa came in two mild varieties of red and green types. Though the flavors of this dish did not stand out or have much "wow" factor, it was a decent meal overall. Their on-site made salad dressings are made with "weight watcher approved" canola oil, and their frying oil is zero transfat fully refined soy bean oil. Having opened in March of this year, 5th Street Patio Cafe has the right stuff to make a wonderful addition to the fast-growing downtown Frisco area. Though its menu lacks a uniqueness strong enough to draw customers from far away and its limited early-closing hours severely limit potential customers' chances to go, if you're in the neighborhood, I definitely recommend stopping by and trying it out. Support your locally owned businesses!

OMG Yum!! Did a togo order since I was in a hurry - great menu, great ingredients and a great atmosphere - next time I'll have to eat in! Highly recommend!

Everything is great here! The breakfast, lunch, and the catering. I have had partys catered and 2 beautful cakes made. Everone commented all night on how good the food was. Perfect place to meet for a girls lunch. Try the reuben, and the shrimp tacos.

I've eaten here a bunch of times and it's always really good. The menu is nice because it has a little of everything. Place is great for weekend brunch or lunch during the week. The curry chicken salad sandwich is my favorite. Service is very good and they are excellent at ensuring a quick and tasty lunch during a busy lunch hour.

Yelped this place while driving around looking for local spots (it was "buy local" Saturday). Had lunch here and it was excellent! I had the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo. The jalapeno soup was great and the chicken curry salad sandwich hit the spot! I want to go back for dinner sometime!! I highly recommend this place - the atmosphere is inviting and casual.

Service is friendly. There was a line when I went for brunch on Sunday, but I was still able to find a table. The place is cute and clean. I got the breakfast burrito and I enjoyed it. Their potatoes were good too. Their oatmeal cookie was good so I'm assuming all their bakery tasted up to their appearance because they all looked good. I would recommend this place.

Nice fresh OJ. Loaded breakfast burrito was very good but I could use some kick to it. Fresh fruit side plate very good too.

This place is BYOB which we love. The food is creative and unique. We have tried many of the items on the menu and enjoyed all of them. It is a great place for an inexpensive lunch or dinner .

Great place to have breakfast. I don't know about lunch cuz I've only had breakfast..the grits and French toast are def worth trying

I've eaten there numerous times and introduced friends to it as well. It's very good, but as good as the food is, the baker for the cafe is a PHENOM. Treat yourself after lunch to a cupcake or two. You will be hooked. I have to say, though, that the prices are a bit high and the portions a bit small for the price. I do love to support locally owned restaurants, so we go there frequently despite the prices.

We love Fifth Street Patio Cafe! The Curry Chicken is soooo tasty and so is the Smoked Turkey salad! The desserts are wonderful! They are hidden and small, but are really great and we love the staff! Try them if you are on Main in Frisco!

My family loves this place. Simply put, they offer fresh delicious homemade dishes at a great price. Their breakfast is excellent, especially the tacos. Now we also come for dinner when we want home cooking without cooking at home. Honestly everything on the menu is good. Word seems to be getting out since it is often full despite being off the beaten path.

This inconspicuous little home-style place tucked away in a remote corner of Frisco is the perfect place for brunch - and it only gets more awesome when the weather is nice out. They have some very delicious Huevos Rancheros, totally tempting cupcakes and the friendliest staff. I love this cafe!

I wanted to like this place, I really did. I root for the independents and downtown Frisco needs more places like that to do well. However this place needs to step it up. It wasn't even lunch rush but we had a wait a really long time to get two sandwiches. Then mine was wrong and I had to wait and wait for them to remake it. And when I did get it, it wasn't all that good. Not for what I paid. It's sad. Probably won't be back.

Food was good; eggs and bacon weren't anything special, but my wife got the fried egg sandwich w/ applewood bacon and really enjoyed it. Some of the signature dishes looked very good. We plan on coming back (the bananas foster french toast sounds delicious). The only concern would be what a busy morning looks like, as the cafe is very small with little room to move about. Overall a nice tucked-away breakfast spot.

This is the place to take your holiday guests for breakfast. Bar none, best breakfast in North Dallas. I usually get the Bananas Foster French Toast, but the Captain Crunch French Toast is also good. I hear good things about the sandwiches, but I've never skipped out on the option for breakfast.

  • Jen P.

I like it. The food is pretty good for the price and I like the decor and the patio. I also like that it's a sole proprietor kind of place. Frisco is just filled with chains and franchises. I also like that it is next door to Southern Bliss, always good for a little shopping after your meal. Try it. It's inexpensive and it's unique for Frisco.

For some reason this place never was of interest to me. However, I went with my co-workers a while ago and was very impressed. I had the shrimp po-boy. Now I do have to say that I know how po-boys should be and this was not at all authentic. BUT it was REALLY good. The shrimp were well seasoned. I would order that again any day. I had a side of pasta salad which needed a bit more seasoning but not bad. And I had a huge lemon bar. Yummy! The seating is kinda tight in there so try to avoid it at peak times or be prepared to do take out. My co-workers were all really pleased as well.

I visited 5th Street for breakfast with a good friend in April 2011. The menu is creatively & legibly written on a huge chalkboard along the entrance wall. Order at the counter and have your meal delivered to your table (if you're not able to sit inside, they have tables on the "patio" outside). I had the biscuits & sausage gravy with a side of fresh fruit. Not only were the biscuits home-made and delicious, the sausage gravy was perfect AND the fruit was actually FRESH. Very filling and reasonably priced food from friendly staff in a clean, casual, comfortable environment. The rest of the menu was equally tempting - I only wish I had time to visit for lunch!

This is a good family style food. The line was out the door made me think this place is probably going to be good. Boy was I right, we have the Cheese Grits (that's how they're supposed to be made), Breakfast Tacos, and Captain Crunch French Toast. All was delicious and down home cooking. We will be going back.

  • Dee V.

Great breakfast place! It is a bit small but that's the charm of it. We got the corned beef hash, belgian waffles, and pancakes. Everyone liked their plates. Pancakes all taste the same to me, but our pancake lover in the group said that these tasted particularly good. We agreed that we would definitely go back! It's hard for me to give anything 5 stars, so I'd rate it a 4.5

Although the building was constructed several years ago, it's like eating in an old, remodeled house. 5th Street Patio Cafe does a brisk business and the tables/chairs indoors feel crowded and too close. My friend and I enjoyed our soup and sandwich combos. The food is fresh and makes you feel as though you're eating in someone's home.

    (4)
  • Mike B.

Excellent food and creative and exciting menu. The chipotle sausage pasta is outstanding. Rating to 5 stars will depend on the service improving. Servers and staff were terse and displayed a bad attitude. Owner was attentive and working hard.

  • Elizabeth B.

The food was pretty good, but everything was so unorganized that I'm not sure we'll be back. You've got people trying to find tables in multiple rooms. Finding a table was really just luck, and people who were several spots behind us in line ended up finding tables before we did (picture a crowd of people aimlessly wandering around, waiting for people to leave). I am not sure who decided that having a hostess was unnecessary...

Cute place in a charming little town. Kinda warm cause the kitchen is open and the front door closes slowly. We waited in line for 12 or so minutes. Flies were rampant indoors. The couple next to us stepped out. They're food arrived and sat while a fly sampled their plate. I ordered buttermilk pancakes. They looked good. They smelled like cake and I was excited but they were heavy like cake and tasted like....nothing. I ordered bacon, which was precooked cause you could see pans of it resting by the grill. It was thin and fatty but it tasted ok. I'd like to go back and try something else. The menu is pretty massive and I'm sure there are some winners. Total spend: $11.58 (3 big tasteless pancakes, 3 fatty bacon slices, and a beverage)

Our first time here and everything was great. We went here on Sunday for brunch and it was busy but then the line and the foods were fast. This place is small and you can't get a table until you're done ordering the food. They will give you the number and then someone will bring you the food and will clean up for you, but then you will get your own utensils and etc. The prices are reasonable. Since this place is small so you can't sit for long, especially on the weekend.

  • Larry T.

What an excellent surprise. The place is bright, cheerful and every seat near a window. Big portions and excellent quality. The corn beef hash and banana pancakes were outstanding. If you like curry the chicken curry salad sandwich was delightful as well. This is a gem of a little restaurant sitting almost in a neighborhood right off the main drag in Frisco. We will definitely be going here again!

Love this place! I always get the loaded breakfast burrito because it's simply amazing. Kristy and her staff are great, and the food is killer. Try the Kentucky Hot Brown sandwich and the bananas foster french toast, just not at the same time... Prices are great, the menu is big, and the line is much faster with the new kitchen addition. Best breakfast in N. Dallas.

Breakfast is the best. Sugar sweets rock also. Get there early as the late "Hung-Over" crew arrives around 10:30 for the awesome special HANGOVER HASH!!

  • Mario J.

We had breakfast tacos and French toast. My eggs and bacon was ala carte along with the cheddar grits. Food preparation was average. The breakfast tacos at $8 is overpriced and there was no wow factor in the other food. Grits were terrible. You have to get your own silverware and napkins from this specific area in dining. Parking was good and the wait wasn't that bad. Our bill was $29 bucks. There is a wait staff but there are non existent. It feels more like a cafeteria as you had to fetch your own drink and silverware and seat yourself. I would've gladly paid $15 bucks for this experience.

This place was recommended by the Starbucks staff and didn't disappoint. The beautifully converted house with porch dining is inviting and eclectic. Their ordering space is a little congested but the folks are friendly about it and make it a delight instead of a drag. I had one of the specials and was pleased with my choice. A veggie scramble with goat cheese to which I added fresh jalapeños. Buttered thick-cut wheat toast was perfect on the side. My daughter had the country biscuit plate. The gravy had us perplexed, but we decided it was thickened with starch instead if a classic roux - not a drawback for sure, but that gravy was whiter than my winter legs. My son had the hangover special which was a plateful! Kitchen sink scramble with white toast. There were no left-overs. All in all, this was a great breakfast and we all heartily recommend this spot.

Its good to do breakfast at a place that is NOT a chain restaurant. Love this place. The menu is great. Going to check out the chicken & waffles this time. The Corn beef hash is very good.

  • Amit K.

A very good place for breakfast. I have enjoyed it every time I have been there for past 2 years. One star less as they are escalating the price gradually and placement of hot water tap for tea is simply inaccessible for people of short stature, and may lead to burns someday, coffee is watered down. Definitely, worth eating the food here at least once!

  • Matthew M.

The only thing worse than the service is the food. Eggs were cooked brown, and the rest was mediocre at BEST! I should have made breakfast myself, it would have tasted better and I would have treated myself better as well.

Great spot for breakfast when in Frisco. The Chicken and Waffles was delicious! it is off the main street in old downtown back in a residential area. You order, grab your drink, sit down, and they bring it to you.

Eating breakfast at our favorite place. As always great atmosphere and great people working here! And of course great food!!!!

    (5)
  • Diana N.

I like the atmosphere and the cafe has a nice vibe, but there were a few things that could use some work. The biscuits for the biscuit and gravy came out a bit hard and dry and the bananas for our banana fosters french toast had bruises on them. However, it might have been just been my dish because while leaving, I saw another table getting a plate and their banana looked fresh and appealing. Besides that, everything else tasted fine. I liked the laid back feel of the place. Would be an ideal place for a week day brunch or breakfast. I say week day because I've stopped by on the weekends and the wait was out the door. Despite these few setbacks, we will give this place another shot.

Located on what appears to be a residential street but on a strip mall kind of corner, the Fifth street Patio and Cafe is a nice place for brunch. Inside is quiet and you order your food, then have a seat and the staff brings you your food. Wife had half ham sandwich (with real ham not lunchmeat) they melt the cheese on the sandwich which makes it even better. And loaded potato soup which was creamy and had real pieces of bacon in it. I had the corned beef hash with egg on top. The potatoes were country cut and really crispy (cannot stand soggy fried taters). Real strips of corned beef which was perfectly salty and a fried egg on top to seal the savory deal. They have a large selection of deserts which we were too full to try, but plan on sampling next trip. The decor is very cozy and the back room is nice and quiet when people up front are yacking away.

What a charming place!! Met a friend for lunch at this tucked away gem. The jalapeño soup absolutely hit the spot (was a rainy day) but wasn't too spicy. I also had the spinach/strawberry salad. I'm not normal a fan of bacon, but the whole combination of dressing and cheese made this a do-again dish.

Great little place with a very easy going atmosphere. Not overrun with kids. Food is great, service is great, and it's not your typical little eatery. I am excited to come back and try breakfast

I can't say enough great things about this place. The food is incredible, the location is adorable, and the staff is so friendly. The sausage biscuits and gravy- best I've ever had. Hands down, this one of the best spots in Frisco!

    (5)
  • B P.

Lunch service - Kids turkey was chopped up and only grilled on one side. No kids ham and cheese. Food has very little flavor and expensive for the quality. Suggestions: serve the tuna on a grain/seed bread and toast it. Offer kid friendly food like ham and cheese. Make it simple like kids like it. If you're going to toast it , do it on both sides. Improve the flavor, add some fresh greens or nuts or something.

This is one of the most popular restaurants in Frisco. Great for breakfast and lunch. Staff is courteous and food is good. It can get crowded and is seat yourself after ordering. I like the crawfish scramble... it's a good value for the serving size.

We had to wait a little for our food, but it was worth it. The three of us each ordered something different and all loved our food. Great atmosphere too!

  • Victoria W.

I LOVE this place! I love the ambiance, the service and the food. It is close drive and close-ish walk from where I live and it's one of my go to brunch places. I feel like all of their breakfast foods are delicious! They have lots of scrambles and hashes. Last time I went, my friend got a Cajun chicken sandwich and it was AMAZING. Huge portion and tasted so delicious that she finished the entire thing even though she was planning on saving half for later. Also, there are always a bunch of tantalizing desserts teasing you as you wait in line to order. I would recommend the Reeces Peanut Butter Brownie!

  • Kimber S.

We ate here today for breakfast. At 9am there was already no parking but we managed to get a table for 4 after we ordered. This was our first time here. You order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is fun. The biscuits and gravy were really good and the pancakes too. One of our kids ordered ordered the Captain Crunch french toast which was also good. The best food here is the high carbohydrate dishes like the pancakes and french toast - and the belgian waffle looked great though we did not try it this time. I'm sure we will return in a few weeks when we can again get there early. After about 9am there was consistently a line to order.

  • Shirley A.

I came here with a friend based on her recommendation of the place for brunch. Too bad I didn't yelp some food recommendations ahead of time because they look like they have some awesome and more unique lunch items. Since I already had my stomach, heart, and mind set on eating breakfast, I went with one of their more basic breakfast plates with eggs, bacon, and a side of coffee which all came out to be less than $10 with tip. So let's backtrack a bit... the restaurant is nestled in a neighborhood and although there was construction in the adjacent streets, they had signs set up for detouring to Fifth Street Patio and Cafe. We came around noon on a Saturday and it was starting to clear out a bit. We sat in the main area but I was told that there's additional seating in the back room past the restrooms. All in all, it reminded me of an Austin restaurant, which is ALWAYS a good feeling!

What a neighborhood gem. I've been searching for great local Frisco restaurants since we moved here a couple months ago. This is one that would be worth a drive to even if you don't live in Frisco. The Tabasco chicken sandwich was full of flavor with a nicely cooked chicken breast, zesty sauce, avocado, and a nice quality bun. It is a bit messy, but still stays together. The Reuben is good, but other options are better. Breakfast is all good. Blueberry pancakes, bananas foster french toast, loaded burrito. Can't go wrong with anything. Oh, and the Reece's PB brownie is dense, chocolaty and amazing! They bake all desserts in house.

All the reviews of this little place brought me here. I'm torn because I kind of want to rate it a 3 but the food was so good that I'm going with 4 stars. Did I mention this a little place? I mean really little! Do not come during peak hours or you will have the experience my wife and i did. You start off by ordering at the counter. They give you a number and then the adventure begins. You immediately have to go in stalk mode to try and get a table. I found this whole thing kind of uncomfortable. I don't like standing near diners while they're eating to see which table is going to be finished first. However, if you don't do this, others will bypass you and get to the tables as other diners are leaving. My wife and I were put off by this. Enough bashing. We finally got a table and our food arrived soon afterward. My wife had the hot ham and cheese sandwich. It was great! The seasoned fries were good too! I had the fish tacos. They were excellent! The food and the prices are great! The seating experience, not so much. We will be back, but not during peak hours.

Two of us went for lunch expecting a great meal based on a friend's recommendation. The chicken vegetable soup didn't have much taste. It had the obligatory two small pieces of chicken. Should have been called cabbage soup. The tuna salad sandwich was just okay. Tasted of sweet relish instead if dill. Biscuits and gravy were very disappointing. Biscuits hard as a rock and gravy was a far cry form the real thing.

  • Wendi G.

This where my husband go to eat for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. Usually have a line to wait in to order, find your table, and it's a pretty small place. BUT it's all worth it because the food is awesome!

  • Katy B.

Ridiculous. As with the other negative reviews mine is in regard to the staff. I asked a simple question regarding allergen information on their bread and was treated with blank stares by the staff. When I pushed, the manager flippantly told me that there was no way to find out. He was dismissive of me and my family. I immediately left and WILL NOT be supporting this business. That kind of treatment and lack of allergen and nutritional information shouldn't be tolerated.

We've been a few times and generally have a positive experience. The Captain Crunch French Toast, blueberry pancakes and breakfast tortillas have been consistently good. However we went to try their biscuits and gravy today and were greatly disappointed. They were really dry and hard. When I got to the center of one of the biscuits, the center (almost half of the remaining biscuit) was so hard that I couldn't even cut it with my fork. It seemed like they were previously frozen...When I asked one of the ladies there about it, her reply was, "Yeah...sorry" and just walked away. There was no offer to get me another set of biscuits or another option. Very disappointed with my visit today and reluctant to come back again.

I've been eating at 5th Street Patio Cafe regularly since I moved to Frisco in 2010. They are always busy, and the reason is the wonderful food they serve. I love their breakfast items (Foster's Banana French Toast...YES PLEASE!) and their lunch menu stays fresh with the specials they offer daily (just had the California Club...excellent!). Free WIFI access and patio area make it a great place to meet with friends or a working lunch. Can't say enough about 5th Street Cafe, I never get tired of eating there and that speaks volume to their quality, menu options and consist well prepared meals.

  • Tia R.

The food is okay. Service haughty and generally sour. The food is over-priced for what you get. I've given them my business more than a half dozen times because I like to support non-chain restaurants. They are on the bottom of my list for breakfast places in Frisco, ie I would have to be desperate.

    (3)
  • Jaynee A.

My bf at the time and I went to visit this place as it looked like it had a great patio. When we got there, we weren't impressed with the taste of the food nor the patio. At least we enjoyed the waitresses' service. More then likely will not visit again though

  • John D.

Horrible wait times. Awful service. Dirty. Terrible coffee. Cold rubbery food. Within the time it took me to get my food I could have drove to grapevine and had a real breakfast at Ole west cafe. Baffled by the high reviews. Will NOT be back.

    (1)
  • Laura A.

I really like this place because the food has consistently been good every time I've been and it's refreshing to go to a non-chain restaurant in frisco. It reminds me of a place you'd find in austin. My only complaint is sometimes the wait to get your food can be quite long. It's one of those places I'd love to bring out of towners, but with the wait being such a wildcard it makes me afraid to bring guests there.

    (4)
  • Cory T.

This place has one dish that I always get when I come here: the Cajun breakfast scramble. The portion is huge and the don't cheat you on the crawfish. Delicious! I can't relate to the negative reviews on here. I think the food here is WAY better than IHOP (to counter one reviewer) and I have never had an issue with the staff. But that is just my experience. Tip: This place is small so it can get crowded quick. We usually come right when it opens and have never had a problem.

We live in Frisco and have been coming to this joint from the beginning (maybe 4-5 years ago?) - before there were long lines. We were excited to find it years ago when there were hardly any breakfast places in Frisco. It was our weekly breakfast spot. One would think the manager would have gotten to know us and our family since we were there almost every weekend. Nope, she would greet us, but never took the time to get to know our names. Remember, this was BEFORE it was busy with long lines. We decided to take a break from it after it got busy with the long lines. Fast forward to present day. We visited a few weekends ago. Same manager there. Did she remember us? I'm guessing not by the way we were greeted. No line since we were the first ones there. We ordered our food. For our kinds we got the regular eggs, becon and toast and an order of chocolate chip pancakes. I always get the spinach, mushroom and chees breakfast tacos. Husband probably got eggs, bacon and pancakes. After our order was placed and we paid, the manager comes out from behind the counter and starts writing the specials on the chalk board! Brisket breakfast tacos! I love brisket breakfast tacos and did she mention the specials at all when we ordered? Not a chance! We didn't have to wait as long as some of the other reviews since we were one of the first customers. The order of chocolate chip pancakes for our kids (ages 2, 5) were HUGE! 3 huge pancakes! She knew they were for our kids when I ordered it but again, did she mentioned it was going to be a big order when we ordered? Not a chance. The gentleman who brought out our order started apologizing that it was so big and that they should have said something when we ordered it. He apologized twice when we were there. Did the manager come by to say anything at all about it? Of course not. And let me mention we spent $34 and some change on breakfast for 2 adults and 2 little kids! Let me tell you that the days of getting in line to order then seating yourself should be over for this restaurant. During busy times it's way too complicated to get in the long line to place your order, then find a table if you can find one. This summer we were going to get breakfast but the line was long and there was not an empty table to be found so we had to turn around and leave. Not only do you have to get in a long line to order, after you place your order and pay, you have to squeeze your way around to the drink station and get your own drinks. The food has always been decent and we love supporting local businesses in the area. However this place has been X'ed from our rotation. Not because of the food but because of the vibe of the manager. This place could be so much more if only the manager would lead with a more positive and friendly vibe. There's more competition in the area these days so small places like this need to step it up and provide the friendly service one would expect to receive in a small local business.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch one Saturday afternoon. It wasn't crowded and we were able to order right away. You order at the counter. There are no service attendants. The food was fresh and good. You could taste the freshness in the vegetables that were served. It didn't taste like everything came out of can..as I find with some restaurants. The place is small and clean. The decor is eclectic and enjoyable. There were fresh flowers at the table which gave it a nice special touch. The place is cozy, and there are several good seats near the window which is nice on a summer afternoon. They have a small room at the back that was reserved for a party. I thought this was a neat idea. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had a salad. We shared a brownie that was delicious. My husband had ate once here before with his co workers. They all enjoyed it as well. I have been told the breakfast menu is a must, but I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet.

This place always looked like a nice brunch place; so I decided to stop in for coffee to check it out before I bring family and friends. I asked if they had expresso coffee, but were met with blank stares from the young people behind the counter. I guess they have never been to Starbucks before. I settled for their brewed coffee and it was terrible. The only thing that made up for it was that it was a nice day and the patio was nice. I'll try the food next time and update this review.

This nice little spot is great to bring your family. The service was really good. The food was tasty. The meals were large portioned. I would go back because there was so much to choose from.

The first time I ate there, I was slightly put off by the attitude of the staff but the delicious baked good made it worth the attitude. This place is really tiny, so perhaps they are staffed to capacity, but it always seems they never have enough people working. Plus, they waste a lot of space with a "gift shop" that sells maybe two things, when they could be seating customers in the area. This past weekend my husband and I brought our son there for breakfast. We were prepared to wait but unfortunately it took close to 45 minutes for our food to show up. Kinda ridiculous given that we ordered french toast and a fruit plate. They were out of silverware at both stations and we had to beg for a knife from a guy trying to clean a table. One poor customer was so tired of waiting for someone to bus her table that she practically begged one of the servers for a rag so she could wipe down the table herself. The employee had a terrible attitude and basically yelled at the woman. The employee then summoned three other men to help her bus the table and everyone got a scolding. I will say, because the place is so busy, the men were really earning their wage! I was disappointed in the baked goodies on this particular morning but can always go to their baker located next to Stonebriar mall if I really insists on one of their confections. My Captain Crunch french toast was burned. I'm also convinced my husband and I got food poisoning from there. My french toast was also supposed to come with whipped cream and the "dollop" was literally about the size of two dimes. Extremely disappointing! I thought it was a joke at first. We won't be back.

I was looking for a nice breakfast to try that wasn't IHOP or Original Pancake House. I came across this small house and saw they served breakfast! I walked inside and it was packed!! The line was out the door! Once you come in, it's open seating soI recommend having someone save a table before ordering. I saw the menu and loved the variety they had. Dishes were reasonably priced from $5 to $11 from what I remember. I ordered the corned beef hash which was about $9. Man it was bomb! I haven't had corned beef in awhile and this was flavorful! The cheese, the potatoes, and the green onions worked well together to give great flavor! To top it all off, literally, they put a fried egg on top!!! That made my day and made the dish taste like gold! The seating was very quaint to feel like a southern home feel in my opinion. It was nice and workers are always running around to help as well. The only thing that was tedious was the open seating and the initial chaos. Other than that this place has me sold on coming more often. If you get a chance, try it out!!

Love love love this place! I asked Siri to find a cafe in the area and low and behold this place was down the street! The food was amazing, we went around 2:15 and it wasn't packed at all. Friendly staff and awesome atmosphere. This is my soul mate restaurant. Definitely coming back.

I love this place! I've been numerous times and I've yet to have anything bad! I love, love, love the spinach and mushroom breakfast tacos. The blueberry pancakes melt in your mouth and the hangover hash is incredible. My friend and I met there for breakfast yesterday. She had the french toast and cheese grits and I had my standard breakfast taco with a side of one blueberry pancake. It was enough food, that I packed my to go box - had the other breakfast taco for dinner and the rest of my pancake for breakfast this morning and they were still good. I've seen where some have complained about the lines...it's worth it to me...if a restaurant is good....there will be lines! If you don't want lines....go to a bad restaurant. The staff is so friendly too! There is one gentleman that walks around the dining room checking on all the guests. He is a crack up!! If I didn't know better I would think he owned the place, because he acts like he cares that much! Highly recommend!

We were looking for something new for breakfast so took a drive "to the country" to try this as it was recommended on yelp. A bunch of their wait staff was off so the owners were working and decided to just do a buffet for the day which was awesome. All you could eat for $9.99 and we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful morning. Great variety on the buffet and a delicious dessert bar. Definitely worth the drive from Dallas on a beautiful top down kind of day.

I have never had a meal completely cooked to perfection like the breakfast I had here. They managed to even take simple hash brown and perfect them. I will be a regular here!

YUMMMMM!!!!! We went here on a Sunday and happened to get there just before the long line started, so we only had to wait ~10 minutes to order. By the time we sat, the line was very long, so you need to time your arrival. While waiting in line, a fella came by with a tray of complimentary mimosas...how sweet! I ordered the corned beef hash and it was the best I've ever had. No joke. Sometimes I get corned beef hash and the beef is like ground beef or not really "corned"...this was legit corned beef that was chopped up into pieces. The potatoes were freshly fried and crispy. Probably not the healthiest meal, but it was tasty. My husband had tacos and they were huge. He took one home to eat for later. They also had multiple flavors of coffee, which I appreciated. I had one cup of hazelnut and one cup of cinnamon. If you are picky about sugars/milk, you might have trouble, because this is a no-nonsense place. You can use whole milk and they have a couple of suger/sweetener options. Soy milk? nope. Almond milk? nope. Just drink what they give you! I will definitely be back!

Really nice little clean place that has an interesting(to me) menu. I see several things that I want to try. Today I had the reuben and sweet potato fries which I have no complaints about. The menu gives you the opportunity to eat healthy or indulge yourself w/ calories if you choose to. Plenty of seating too despite looking small from the outside. Parking can be tricky if their experiencing a rush. This goes into the immediate rotation when I'm in this neck of the woods again.

Nice breakfast, good coffee, casual bar order. I don't care for how sweet everything is but I am not big on sugary-tasting. I give it 3 stars for me but I think someone who grew up in Texas and has a sweet tooth would really like this place. Never had lunch here but a good breakfast for your money.

Wanted to try this place because my sister posted a picture of the Captain Crunch french toast and I said to myself, thats it Im going there for breakfast! I have never been to this place, so I had not known this place is far up north of Frisco!! It looked like it took me forever to get there, but it may have been the route I was taking. When I arrived, there was MAJOR construction around the restaurant. No good. Theres not enough parking. And the street was ONE way only. I suggest getting there early I say when they open at 8a-9a, after that time it will be super busy! Since I already knew what I wanted (captain crunch french toast) ;) I decided to get something else on the side. I also got the Country Biscuits and Gravy breakfast. It comes with a side of potatoes and a fried egg on top. Pretty good. The biscuit however was kind of hard and dry. But the taste of it was different which I liked. The french toast was awesome! No doubt. Even the presentation was so cute! There was a guy I guess a waiter. He was funny. He would make funny goofy weird conversations with you and what to recommend. Hes a jokester. He kept suggesting to people to get the chicken and waffles. Which I may get next time. They also had a nice variety of coffees I liked. Overall the place was ok. The food is good. But the only negitive was it was far from where I lived and the construction/parking was no good.

This place will appeal to some and not others, I'm not a fan. First, you order off a menu on the wall and pay for it before sitting down. They bring the food to your table so you get what you get. I ordered the country biscuit breakfast with an extra egg. They cut several biscuits in half, throw eggs on top, then pour on some gravy... very watery gravy by the way. The fried potatoes that came with the dish were good, but the biscuits tasted like frozen, dense hard tack that was thawed out and heated... yuck! The gravy had a few pieces of sausage in it, but it was so watery it wasn't any normal white gravy... tasted like it might have some sour cream mixed in it. The eggs were cooked correctly or nearly correct (over easy) on a grill that was too hot. Over-all the breakfast won't be ordered by me again and I probably won't be back to try anything else. I felt like I was in an echo box as the walls reflected every sound. The place is busy, so someone obviously likes the food, but I rarely give any place more than one chance to impress me... and I'm not impressed.

The seafood enchiladas (one of the daily specials) were flavorful and VERY hot in temperature. One of my pet peeves is lukewarm food, so I was very happy about the serving temperature! The accompanying rice was fluffy and tasty. I will definitely return. Only gripe - the restaurant is very noisy. I went at noon; in the future, I'll try to go at a less busy and possibly quieter time.

So in love with this cafe! I am drawn to small local cafés for multiple reasons and this one has gotten a customer that will return! I used to live in Denton where I was spoiled with cafe choices. After moving to the McKinney/Frisco area I was struggling finding new spots to eat. I ended up turning to yelp to see if I could get some help and low and behold this place returned on my search list. Due to all of the great reviews and photos of fab food I decided to try it for lunch w/ a friend. Just pulling up got me excited. There was plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot (not typical for small cafés in downtown areas) and the cafe is inside a well structured what looks like used to be a house (Another plus). There's even a gift boutique attached! When we walked in we were a little overwhelmed with the variety of the menu and were distracted by all the cakes and cookies at the register. The cashier asked if it was our first time (I think it was obvious) and told us what his favorite items were and tried to help us decide on what to order. The seating area isn't too large but there is a full patio (it was 40 degrees out that day so it wasn't an option for us) and from a prior review I see they have an additional room of seating that I didn't realize. The food was amazing and I could tell it was very fresh (Something you don't get with chain food). Even with it being a pay then sit place they bring your food out to our table and check on you sparingly throughout your meal. We ended lunch with a piece of the coconut cake and it is to die for!! I cannot wait to go back to try the breakfast and lots of other items on the menu!

Nice place, but not worth the wait when its packed. Mediocre breakfast and no huge portions. Don't like the fact it's not table service, it's more like Pei Wei where you order your food, and someone will bring it out.

We were ready for breakfast around 9:00am on a Sunday morning ... didn't want to go to an IHop and we couldn't wait for brunch to start...after a quick Yelp search, we found 5th Street Patio Cafe. I was nervous after reading about the flies and bugs...but I didn't see one fly or any bugs. In fact the place seemed really clean to me and the place was packed so guessing they didnt see any bugs either. Small place but don't let the size fool you - - a fair amount of seating and a lengthy menu to choose from. I had the blueberry pancakes, hubby had a Belgian waffle, and friends had the Cap'n Crunch French Toast and a breakfast burrito. Everyone was pleased with the fresh food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. My only complaint was the coffee/beverage area of the restaurant was set up poorly. The place is small and the space between the coffee and the tables is tight - -one or two people can fill their coffee cups at a time, plus the coffee cup is small. What the heck is that about? The lunch menu items looks good too, I will return for sure.

We got hungry while out taking bluebonnet pictures. At first, we had an aborted lunch at Scotty P's (see my review for that), and then found this place through Yelp. Service was good, although they request that you place your order before finding a table, which I'm guessing is so that you're not saving a place ahead of those in line. But if you order and don't find a table, I guess you're out of luck? I'm still on a quest to find a really good Reuben sandwich in the DFW area but, much to my chagrin, this wasn't it. Rather than sauerkraut, they use slaw-sliced cabbage drenched in remoulade. Together, it just didn't work for me. The cabbage was large and crunchy, which was a bit off-putting as far as mouth-feel, and the remoulade did absolutely nothing for it or the sandwich in general. But I soldiered on. The fries were piping hot and I kept sneaking them off my fiance's plate while she was taking a call from her wedding makeup person. For dessert, all four of us shared a lemon bar, a toffee cupcake, and a sugar-cookie whoopie pie, which were all delicious. To that end, we still took home another sugar-cookie whoopie pie, a pecan bar, and a chocolate chip cookie. I'd go back if I were ever back in Frisco. This place is worth finding.

Extensive menu; cooked to order (serving breakfast all day) and friendly staff. I had the Breakfast Burrito and it was yum! It's a small quaint place a bit off the path, but it seems like you can't go wrong.

This is our favorite place in Frisco!! I even got engaged here! The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is busy at brunch time and fairly quiet for dinner. The food and desserts are also exceptional. We have yet to eat anything that was anywhere near being bad. The breakfast plates are delicious, the sandwiches are great, all of the fish dishes are wonderful, and the soups and salads are fantastic as well! Our favorites are: for breakfast, the pancakes (3 of them, and they take up the entire plate!) and the biscuits and gravy, and for dinner, the chicken enchiladas!! We like to get a cup of Jalapeno soup and pour it over the rice that comes with the enchiladas. The desserts are all homemade, and everything is wonderful! We especially like the lemon bars. The restaurant is in an old house in old downtown Frisco. They had a major seating problem for breakfast and lunch, but they've recently expanded their dining area to the other side of the house. They also have a small patio with about 4 or 5 tables that is a pleasant place to dine. I recommend this restaurant for any meal! You won't be disappointed!!

This place has terrific food! I had the Big Loaded Burrito which was a special. It was a amazing. I hope this is a regular special. My girlfriend had the corn beef hash. It wasn't traditional canned. It had sliced corn beef, green onions, potatoes, cheese and fried egg. This was also a terrific meal.
