I work to eat out and I eat out and never work, and the day that my two roommates had a gift card to use at OG, I decided to tag along. I was off for the holidays so I totally was looking forward to the breadsticks and these cheese plate the roomies kept raving about. Plus, who doesn't want comfort Italian food when its cold and rainy out? We arrived on a Friday evening (when it was hella packed) and noticed the wait to be seated was going to be 25mins+. Knowing that the bar area is first come first serve, I scoped out a table for 4 and asked a man dressed in black (up by the hostess) if it was indeed first come first serve. He confirmed and told me he would have someone wipe off the table for us. As the roomies and I got settled on their high bar table and began to figure out what we were ordering first, I noticed no one was coming around to help us out. We decided definitely the cheese plate appetizer, some fancy raspberry lemonade, and even figured out our entrees in the time we were taken notice again by The Man in Black. The Man in Black (which I found out later he was the manager), saw us ready and not reading our menus and prompted a waiter to come get us served and wipe the table down. As many folks were hovered in the foyer trying to keep warm the manager took his time to let us know the waiter was coming and asked if we wanted a sample of wine. We declined, for we were all on antibiotics, and soon after the waiter was there to take our orders. The waiter hurried to get to us and was super polite. It is what it is at OG. Consistent food, meh on the prices, but I was more impressed that the manager took some time out to make sure we were situated comfortably throughout our whole meal. He was super helpful and attentive.

No more pizza. The end of Olive Garden. R.I.P. Goodbye. I will miss my annual visit... sort of. No more pizza. The end of Olive Garden. R.I.P. Goodbye. I will miss my annual visit... sort of.

Everyone knows what kind of food to expect at an Olive Garden- casual chain dining, nothing extraordinary, but enjoyable nonetheless. I'm giving them such a high rating because of the service. The waitress was so kind and really went above and beyond and did a lot more than one would expect from an Olive Garden server. She offered us lemonade and soda to go (even though all we had was water throughout the meal), gave us extra mints, and offered the breadstick to go bag (which normally has to be requested), among other things. A manager stopped by the table to check on us (which doesn't normally happen at an Olive Garden) as well as another random server who just happened to be walking by. Although the bar took way too long to make my drink, the friendliness of the staff made up for it.

I received a gift card for this place and decided to have lunch here. This restaurant location has been here for over 20 years and about almost that amount of time since I lasted eaten here. We walk in and notice the layout of the place is not what I had imagined. The decor is not at the level like other Italian restaurants. I would rate it as average and suited for older folks. Anyway we were seated at the bar area so we can watch college football. The bartender showed up quickly and took our drink orders and pushing Olive Garden's own wine brand. Since I was using a gift card I wanted to make sure I use it all up so I ordered a glass of wine, Lobster Cannelloni with Shrimp, side salad and my wife ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs with a side order of Chicken and Gnocchi soup. Our side orders showed up and my wife's soup tasted good and I was give a huge salad where I had to scoop it out from a bowl into my salad plate. A few minutes our food arrived which I was not too happy about because we were just starting to eat our soup and salad along with those yummy bread sticks. So we made room on our little table and I tasted the lobster and it tasted very good. My wife's meatballs tasted good too. While eating I notice the atmosphere of the place and it was very quiet with jazz music playing. I realize why my parents like this place for it is just very comfortable and not glamorous or loud like other Italian places. Well we ate just about everything and used up my gift card. The bartender got a nice tip and perhaps we will be back soon.

I am already laughing. Years ago, I was asked out on a date, and he told me he wanted to take me out all fancy style. New dress, new shoes, hair done, and then a phone call. He forgot to tell me he didn't have a car, and can I pick him up? Really, Jenny, Red Flag! I do anyway, and he asks if he could drive my cool car (had a Lexus at the time). Um, sure? I ask where we are going. It's a surprise. Damn. I hate surprises. We pull into the Olive Garden parking lot. Dude, really? Is this a joke? He knew I was vegan, and thought this was a great, classy, vegan friendly place. I should have mentioned I don't eat pasta. But the pasta has eggs, the salad has cheese, the dressing has egg, the bread has milk, the croutons have milk.... So, I had a bowl of lettuce. He was smiling away at his "great choice" of a restaurant, and how I found something to eat. He ordered Chicken con Broccoli. I laughed at the name, and then he asked me what "con" meant. You dumb ass. I should have walked out. That guy sucks, and so does this restaurant. A real whole lot.

Went to Olive Garden today because we generally love it. The service here was horrible and so was the food. I would have given it a 0 but the only reason I'm giving it a 2 is because Steve the manager tonight was so accommodating and was honest and considerate to our needs. He was sympathetic towards our experience and went above and beyond to satisfy us, we appreciate it. Also, our waiter Joshua was nice as well and was not at fault. Steve needs to be at a higher position because he's honest and considerate towards his customers needs. Thanks Steve and Joshua! Sorry that you have to be at a branch where the food and service is miserable!!

Ate here tonight for my sister's birthday with 5 adults and five children. Excellent service and they didn't make us feel awkward as some do with that many kids, but it was the exact opposite. They made us feel very welcomed and the service was impeccable. Very happy with tonight's dinner.

I love this place!! The food is always delicious, the staff always sweet, and it's peaceful. I can actually have a normal conversation without yelling over the music, etc. The only reason I'm not giving a five star review is that I only want to be checked on by my waiter/waitress. The last few times I have been, there's always a second waiter/waitress asking if we need anything and then a manager asking how everything is...I just want to eat my meal please, in peace. If I need something I'll flag MY waiter down.

Still go back to Olive Garden for "the salad". They now sale their dressing in grocery stores, but it is not quite the same. When ordering soup, order two bowls for each person. You can literally pour one bowl into the other and still have room. At least this way, you will get a full bowl of soup. (I don't know why restaurant's do this; Johnny Carinos does the same thing - one ladle of soup.) Prices tend to be on the higher side, so look for specials, etc.

Uh. Well I have been historically a fan of TOG but wow, last night really ruined it for me. It's never ending pasta bowl time, you pay extra to add unlimited meat, but what the F was going on with the new "roasted chicken" (AKA Cheap Ass Bird) concept? Let me back up. What I mean is that I always go there to get Chicken Fettuccine on Penne for example. The chicken usually had always consisted of strips of white meat seared lightly. Oh no, not now. My first pasta had just a few slices of the normal way. When I reordered more, I could not believe what I saw. It was this sloppy, dark and white pulled boiled chicken that looked like it was excess junk from Torchy's or something dumped on the top of my pasta. I thought, well, maybe it won't be so bad so I tried it. MAJOR BLEH!!! It tasted like funky flavored, shredded, dirty, awkward poultry bits and bumpy pieces. I literally could not eat it. BEWARE if you get this, it is not what you are used to. It was like putting Mexican chicken on Italian Pasta and those 2 cannot really mix like that if you know what I mean. No rude intended, it was just wrong. This must be stopped. Oh well, at least Jay (who worked in the Bar), the Chocolate Martini, and the potato soup, made up for this bad taste of some THING in that Chicken's WING. Ewe. The person next to us made a huge deal about it too because all of his chicken was grey and apparently tasted boiled and filthy. That is just no bueno. Come on, TOG, take that roasted hot mess of your menu. How much more could it cost to just leave things regular? Too many chefs will ruin the broth!

Couldn't tell ya how the food at this Olive Garden is because we had to leave immediately due to the rancid aroma of a giant foot! Woof!

Tonight was my aunts Birthday so she got to choose where to have dinner. After some debate she finally decided on Olive Garden. When we walked in the door we were immediately greeted by the polite and smiling hostess, making our family feel very welcome. Our waiter, "Gabriel" was great. Taking our orders with patients never breaking his professional attitude. Food came out fast and was delicious, however had to take most of it home because I was so stuffed from the yummy breadsticks and salad. Overall a great experience. Thanks for the generous all around service.

Oh Olive Garden, How you disappointed this Faologi, unlimited salad & breadsticks lover. We usually go to Johnny Carinos(Gasp, all you OG Fans)- but I was craving the SS&B, so to Olive Garden for dinner, it was. Upon leaving this disappointing visit to this OG, my husbands review was: "That was the nicest- worst waitress, ever!" Our poor waitress... I don't think she's worked as a waitress for more than a month, easy. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes before being approached to then be told, "I'll be right back." When she finally came back and asked our drink order, she quickly took it and was about to walk away. When we told her we already knew what we wanted to order(remember, we had been sitting staring at a menu for well over 10 minutes) she seem irritated but took our order anyway. I order the most simple thing on their menu- Soup, Salad & Breadsticks. Hubby ordered the unlimited Pasta Bowl special(which includes unlimited soup & salad, apparently) The service was ridiculously slow(our waitress was sweet, but so timid) and then painfully slow once a group of 15 UNT Tennis players came in. Thankfully by that time we were ready to leave. The bill came and the SS&B was freaking 9.95$. THE SAME PRICE as my husbands unlimited pasta, soup, salad & bread. When the hell did they raise the prices that much for soup, salad & bread?? wow! The soup was luke warm at best, the salad was soggy, and the breadsticks were not nearly as amazing as I had remembered. Olive Garden, you disappointed me. I'm sorry- we must break up. The hubs & I will now revert back to our usual Italian love fest at Johnny Carinos. PS: Nice but super timid waitress, penne pasta is not the same as linguini!

I know others say it's not the greatest Italian fare, but I love it! My wife and I go here for all sorts of occasions. The service is almost always good. The food is consistent (for us). And my grown kids love it. It's been a favorite of my youngest daughter for years. We were there a week ago and it was great! Good salad, bread and awesome entrees. Yumm.

Out of the three OG restaurants we have tried here ATX this one has had the best service, wait time, chefs. And until this is proven different we will keep this our main OG to visit. The rest rooms are clean. The only down side is a small parking lot in front of the location. Don't worry there is plenty of parking but not in front to this location.

There's a reason the Olive Garden succeeds. No, it's not great food. And the service (or the hostess, in my case) is not always the best. But it's familiar. It's what we know. Those breadsticks and salad taste the same as they did the last time I ate Olive Garden....7 years ago .... in Dallas...which is how it was the first time I ate there decades ago. See? It's what we know. My raviolis were obviously not fresh, but after a week of SXSW and a $50 gift card, I was not much in the mood to care. The leftovers are just fine when you can't get off the couch. No, of course it's not GOOD "Italian" food, but it's almost like comfort food walking in there and saying, "just give me some breadsticks while I look at the rest of the menu." We like what we know.

You're kidding me right? People people people..... SAVE yourself and go find a cool Austin homegrown restaurant that doesn't serve processed food shipped in from a generic warehouse. Call me a snob but after living away from Austin so long and missing restaurant food that actually tastes like food, I can't see why anyone would waste their time and money here.

A fun-filled Sunday celebrating my uncle and my cousin's birthday at the Olive Garden? I think, not. We waited for almost 40 minutes before getting a table, granted this was due to the fact that there were 10 of us, but I saw larger groups coming out long before we were seated. After sitting outside in the heat because there was absolutely no room inside due to all the parties having to wait, I was extremely hungry and getting angry. After finally being seated, I felt slight peace, but then it took them another 10 minutes before they got our drink order and then even longer to bring it to us. At this point, I was just down right ready to leave with my free breadsticks. After my family and I spent a some time perusing the menu, we wrote down what we wanted on a napkin and had one person just tell the waitress. OH the waitress, we had 3 different ones. I could never tell who to wave down to help us. Anywho, after we tell the waitress our order, we had to ask multiple times for breadsticks, which took them FOREVER to bring out to us. After our order was placed, it took so long before our soups and salads came out. In my head, I'm wondering why does it take so long to make a salad? I pondered and never got an answer. Once we finished our appetizer, we waited once again for about 15 minutes before our food even came out. Now here's the good part, I loved my dish. I got the 5 cheese baked ziti and it was delicious and that may be the only good thing about this place. My family got the eggplant parmesan and the cheese ravioli dishes. I tried a bit of both, but nothing compares to that baked ziti. The eggplant parmesan was actually really disgusting, it had a bitter taste and the sauce tasted like canned tomatoes, which is probably what it was. Once I finished, I just wanted to get out of there. We paid with a smaller tip due to the horrible service we received and got out so fast. Overall, this place got a 2 only because I liked my plate. I doubt I'll be going back, unless its been several years and I've forgotten this incident, only to relive it again and remember why I don't go back.

Under par for a chain restaurant. This is one of the few chain restuarants I frequent. And this time just for some friend calamari. Service was very slow. I understand I went to dinner at 4 pm, but hey customers are customers, right? the special of the night was the panini, on SWEET bread. What the heck! the man best friend thing had that, and a bowl of soup which for its perfect little gnoccis it had to come out of a can or a freezer. Sad to say I wont be back. Ill find somewhere else to get some fried calamari and a good lunch, most likely for cheaper.

  • Nic P.

Horrible. I ordered a raspberry lemonade and the bf had tea. For an appetizer, we ordered the calamari. And for entrees, he had the chicken Marsala and I had capellini di mare. We didn't get our high chair until after the entrees made it to the table. I was sitting with my daughter and then standing with her while eating the appetizer and salad. We kept asking, and it wasn't until I got up and got it myself, did we get a high chair. And the manager wanted to know why I was back there. I ordered a raspberry lemonade. Not the tea you refilled my cup with after I asked for more. And not the peach tea you gave me after I told you I didn't order tea. The food was good. Until the waitress decided to pack up the food for us. She packed up my pasta and she threw away all my seafood! I'm lucky I checked the box before we left. If I got home and was missing all my seafood, I would be so upset. They remade me some mussels and clams but.. I'm still not too pleased. Probably will not go back. Bad experience. I'm sad, since I normally enjoy their food and service..

POP UP FACT EDITION : I'm always amazed at the people who line up for lunch and especially dinner only to wait an hour for mediocre Italian food. Regardless of my taste, the chain has hit a niche (60% over 55) with the majority of America. I've visited Olive Gardens from El Paso to Abilene and there are a few bright spots in an otherwise dull menu. You've gotta give them some praise for the salad. Its got just the right amount of olives (the staff is trained to give you one more olive that the amount of diners at your table) combined with the bite of the banana peppers. The bread sticks have their own fan club ( facebook.com/pages/Olive… )! The rest of the menu is just mediocre (adjective-of only ordinary or moderate quality). My stand out and the single reason for visiting is the Mussels Napoli. The mussels are tender and the broth is remarkable. Finally something good to say about those chefs at the famed Culinary Institute of Tuscany (actual location-New Jersey). I daresay this review won't be a candidate for the ROTD; but that's alright. Expect an update on this location ( maps.google.com/maps?f=q… ) in a year or so. Three stars all the way.

5 years ago I went and did not Think I would ever be back And yet I went today and it was wonderful , The food was great hot , seasoned to perfection the salad was great and as well as the service , Parking was no problem, We saw the place fill up with the lunch crowd with in 15 minutes. I tried the new dishes the show on the Commercial and yes the plate was big and filled with Raviloli and spinch with Feta Cheese over grilled chickenit tasted really I could not eat it all . I will be back.

SO... I don't generally eat at chain restaurants, and I certainly don't feel the need to review them as they are all generally the same. HOWEVER, I just had to acknowledge the wonderful service my friend and I got today. The staff at the front door greeted me and I let them know I was waiting for one person, they asked her name and told me they'd send her to my table when she arrived. Very nice. Then our server was just so on it! I don't recall her name, but she told me she had just transferred from another OG. Eventhough my friend and I got the cheapest thing (unlimited soup and salad, yum!), she was so great... made sure our drinks were full, we had plenty of breadsticks, etc... she even gave us extra mints! So, of course we just had to leave her a 100% tip... She was awesome. AND THEN..... as we were leaving, a staff member offered to walk us to our cars with an umbrella as it was raining. Great experience.... chain restaurant or not! :)

Ok I know it's a chain, but I just can't get around the fact that I consistently get great food here. It's simple, tastes great, and I get pretty good service. If the decor of the restaurants was a little nicer I would probably even give them 5 stars, so sue me!

Good Chicken Gnocchi soup. I did not have anything else, so I can't comment on them. The minestrone was bland. The service was very confusing. My waitress messed up the order, brought out random soup, confused me with pricing, brought out the wrong bill and was generally very preoccupied. I would go back to the Olive Garden for the soup. It's not bad.

Several years back I quit eating at The Olive Garden, at any of their locations, because the food had become so bad that I was half-way convinced that they were trying to serve me dumpster scraps. About a month or so ago I was dragged into this location. The only bit of solace I had was remembering how cheap it was. At least I wasn't going to get gouged in the end, I thought, although I was somewhat fearful of food poisoning. I eat out a lot though, so it's always in the back of my mind. The restaurant was relatively busy, which put me even more on edge. If I don't have faith in the place where I'm eating then I lose all hope when they're busy. I've been burned before *cough*chuy's*cough* I was happy that we were seated promptly in a booth. Only a few minutes later the waitress took our drink order and brought them to us quickly. This eased my fear of being forgotten about since they looked rushed. She did a great job at keeping an eye on our table when it took us forever to decide what we were going to eat. We ordered a few entrees and the all you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks thing. All you can eat soup, salad and bread sticks. I thought it sounded too good to be true. It wasn't at all. So many fresh breadsticks, so much crisp salad, and I'm not a big soup fan but the person I went with said the soup was awesome too! I can't remember what the entrees were at this point, I just remember being shocked and amazed at how good The Olive Garden had become. The food was far from garbage, the service was five star, and even though the place was packed it wasn't overly loud. When the check came, it was still the same bill as before, super cheap!!

Gotta love olive garden, this location is pretty nice. There is always a parking lot full of cars each time I've went. Do not go during lunch time if you only have an hour me and my co workers never make it back on time. Good service for the most part, good food of course. My favorite is their chicken Alfredo its so creamy and yummy. As for appetizer I recommended the stuffed portabella mushrooms. They have an area that's a bit more bright I guess for groups. They also have an area that's a bit more dim lighting, nice atmosphere noise level is never loud.

I always have never had a bad experience at this Olive Garden. The servers are great! This last time I went with my family AJ was our server and he was amazing! He was very helpful and he even helped us save money on buying wine! Absolutely wonderful service and my family and I had a great time!

I can't possibly express in mere words how much I love this place!! Unfortunately, we don't get to go very often, but when we go, I'm always so blown away by how much I just love their food! Try the stuffed mushrooms! They are wonderful!!

We went to lunch on July 5th at about 2 pm (2 Adults and 2 older kids). Was the worst service and food we have ever had at this location. Waitress didn't care and it was terribly disappointing. We didn't get croutons on salad. I told the waitress and she seemed irritated. She returned some time later and tossed 2 packages of croutons on the table. We got the wrong app and when the correct one was delivered it had raw spots on them. The soup I got seemed to be the dregs, we were never offered more salad, 3 of us ran out of drinks before anyone noticed, plates sat on the table even though we stacked them, we were offered dessert when second bowl of soup was delivered ??, I could go on but I won't. I don't know if the waitress was having a bad day or if she is always indifferent. We still gave a tip, probably too much. We have gone there for over 10 years .. Disappointing. The gentleman that escorted us to the table was very friendly and engaged .. Too bad he didn't wait on us.

So the wife and I decide to go to the local Olive Garden this past Sunday for a simple lunch. Every so often we crave their Soup / Salad / Breadsticks "all you can eat" deals. Well, we politely as if there are any sections with a lower "screaming child count" than others. Hostess says "Yes,we can seat you near the bar". We get seated next to the bar.. right in the middle of three families with screaming children. They say this is the only table they've got available for '2 people'. Well we just tough it out, figure that it can't be that bad. Well it turns out that the actual screaming children were not the biggest frustration. We put in our orders with the waitress for drinks, and she disappears for 30 minutes. No sign of her on the floor, nothing. She comes back after this 30 minute time period, gives us our WATER (Seriously? Was it THAT hard to get, lady?).. and takes our order. She then disappears for 25 minutes. This totals out to 55 minutes for two glasses of water, orders put in.. and NOTHING showing up at the table yet. Just about this time another waitress (probably a runner from the kitchen) shows up with our salad. No breadsticks (they have BUCKETS of the things constantly being made in the kitchen, and she FORGOT?)... she plops the salad down, puts some cheese on it and leaves. Another 10 minutes pass before any breadsticks materialize, and they are STONE COLD. All this was brought out by runner, STILL no sign of our waitress since she took our orders about an hour ago. When she does finally turn up, she's got our soups ... and they are barely warmed over. By this point we've had empty water glasses for about 45 minutes now, and no one to flag down to get a refill. She says she'll be right back.. and disappears for another 20 minutes. It was at the 2 hour mark we finally got so fed up with the horrible service that we just left some cash to cover our bill and walked out. WORST service I have had at an Olive Garden in a LONG time, such a pity. We will NOT be returning to this location again, and I highly recommend everyone else do the same.

I mean, Olive Garden is Olive Garden. There food is eh. Very eh. The 1 star is pretty harsh; I only give it for good reasons. Lettuce peices with bite marks and olive pits and half eaten cucumbers in the salad? Ew. Gross. So yeah, I wouldn't advise going anywhere where the salad is recycled. I suggest Romeo's for good pasta.

the restaurant was amazing, soups tasted perfect, and refills are so good :D Those fresh and melting garlic-breads are so good. Staff was very hard-working and helpful, I admire the girl working for 12 hours and still be so enthusiastic and energetic.

Mediocre staff, and mediocre service, though the manager Aldo did stop by and talked to us about our substitution request which was very professional. Other than that, the server made several mistakes on our order and tried to cover up for it. All in all, probably won't return to this Olive Garden.

Awwww, first off, such a homie feel. Dim lighting, nice set up for quick dine ins or long conversation and oogling over date dinner. The new mediterranean chicken fell short in my palate book. The sauce was just too runny. The chicken was dry and hard to cut in to. The bread sticks were harder than usual, not fresh....sad... :( the salad and gnocchi soup were delicious. The mini chocolate cake mousse with caramel was great finish. I used to love it here.....

I feel like I'm a pretty generous star-giver when it comes to reviews, but this Olive Garden deserves nothing but 1 star. The restaurant was clearly empty when we were there, yet we had to wait for 15 minutes to get seated. We got horrible service and even their peach iced tea and breadsticks can't even make me add on another star to this review. I think I'll take my $25 and go to another Italian restaurant in town, even if that would mean I have to pay more... which is unlikely because this place is super overpriced.

You know... it's not that I expect immaculate service when I go to someplace like the Olive Garden... but I do expect more than what we got. This adventure started like this... waiter: STARE. (no intro, welcome, etc.) me: um... I'd like a bloody mary please. and last time they put a piece of pepperoni in it, so can I get it without the meat please? waiter: STARE..... Margarita? me: uh. no. bloody mary. waiter: STARE. Walk off. When he came back I wasn't sure if he understood that I had not wanted a margarita and tried to sort of re-order/ confirm my drink to which he said "yeah". The rest of the meal was just like this... The whole time it felt as if we were on a hidden camera show. Only at the end of the meal there was no hidden host, just a check.

Your typical Olive Garden, a chain mediocre experience. If you have been to one, you've been to them all. Nothing authentic or different about this one. They used to be good for a family meal, but their prices have gotten so outrageous for the jo blo food they serve. I don't do chains, but I had a gift card I couldn't do anything else with. We won't be back, but I'm sure there are others who enjoy this type of food.

When I go to the Olive Garden, what I like to do is close my eyes as I walk through the doors, count to ten, then re-open them. That way it feels like I have truly arrived in the Italian hill country. Fortunately for me, most of the staff speak English there, which is a good thing, because my Italian is a little rusty. When I first sat down at the table I noticed that the the napkins were all green which makes me think of a lush Italian villa. Also the chairs have wheels on them which is great, because I tend not to be able to walk after eating the "never ending pasta bowl" and drinking a magnum of the Rosso. OK, so I give the this place a hard time. The only thing that I hate is that most of America thinks that this defines Italian food, which is like saying that TGI Friday's defines American food. Oh wait, does it? Ok, I had a point to this.... The food here is cheap, and it's not terrible. Just a little too cookie cutter for my liking. The salad is actually quite good, and the house wine gets you drunk enough to eat here while not being so cheap that you'll have a headache the next day. My compliments to Mr. Boyardee!

This has one star only because there are no negatives allowed. I mean wtf this is a major chain restaurant shouldn't the food taste the same everywhere ?? Had the calamary which I totally adore and it was horrible. The place is dark and dingy and smells bad. Avoid at all costs.

My main dish was mediocre, but what I really want to write about is the dessert. Me and my friend had the Tiramisu and it gave us BOTH diarrhea. Not. Cool.

[This review is to be read in the accent of an articulate, elderly British man] As our faithful driver Chester brought us to our nightly dining event, our eyes were suddenly drawn to a most magnificent sight! Not several hundred feet before us stood an entrancing and stately palace of impressive Mediterranean styling. I daresay we had long heard the most effusive rumors about Olive Garden, all from the most reliable of culinary experts! As we entered, our mouths were dancing in near orgasmic anticipation! I daresay we were crestfallen to learn that a table would not be available for upwards of 15 minutes! We remained steadfast and resolute! One does not walk away from perhaps the most highly regarded dining experience in the southern Travis County region due to mere trifling inconvenience! Soon after being seated at a most charming table, we were aghast to learn that our sommelier was also our waiter! A single man was to serve both entres and wine!?! I daresay the idea seemed to reach the very peak of absurdity! We inquired as to whether our rascally waiter was engaged in some sort of jocular deception. He cracked a toothy grin! You polecat! You scoundrel! You naughty cantankerous raccoon! But I daresay frivolity turned into ecstasy as our first course arrived! It consisted in the most delightful assortment of breads, each artistically arranged in the shape of a slender rod. How clever! Each bread was delectably warm and gently dotted with what must have been the finest French cheeses! For the main course, I had the supreme pleasure of dining on a most superb Ravioli Di Portobello. I daresay the dialogue between the mushrooms and the sun dried tomatoes was positively unparalleled! And did I detect a hint of truffle? I daresay I did! In summary, the ambiance was exquisite and the meal divine. The entire experience left us simply giggling at our own crapulence! I daresay we shall return! I daresay!

What can you say about Olive Garden that hasn't already been said over and over? They provide good food from a pretty extensive menu, and hire the kind of waiters that make your dining experience a pleasure. I like the way the Olive Garden's train their staff, and their chefs, of course, are trained at their culinary institute in Tuscany, so the whole operation seems to run effortlessly, providing nicely presented dishes and full flavored drinks. Lea and I selected this restaurant for an early dinner, and waited out the evening rush hour by dining on minestrone soup, salad and breadsticks. This particular restaurant, by the way, has several different dining areas, so the noise levels are low enough that the music on the ceiling mounted speakers seems a little loud after a while. But, I suppose as the dining areas fill up and the conversations start building, the music wouldn't be an irritant at all. The only negative I experienced during this meal was when I began unrolling the cloth napkin from around my silverware, and found what appeared to be cracker crumbs folded up inside it. It didn't make me feel very confident that the silverware was clean, so I selected another dinnerware set up and used it. I am certain it can seem tedious to have to make up the scores of setups that have to be folded each day, but being careless about cleanliness and sanitation is not acceptable. They lose a star because of it.

I am hesitant to write a bad review for a restaurant, but this is more of a warning than a bad review. My friend and I went to the Olive Garden Restaurant on South Lamar in Austin, Texas. We ordered two soups, and I ordered the menu spaghetti with meat sauce. When the dish arrived, it was set in the middle of our table waiting for us to finish our soup. When the soup was removed from the table, I reached for the plate of spaghetti, and to my horror, it was about the temperature of an oven. I burned 3 fingers on both hands that resulted in blisters. After that, the spaghetti was OK. We were not warned by the server that the plate was hot, and the spaghetti was OK. I can cook better at home from a package. However, then did comp the spaghetti dish. They should have also apologized to me. I have 6 band aids on my fingers.

I used to work at a really good Olive Garden like 5 years ago. I have seen the best of the best they were very professional there. This location not so much. I had three different servers ( i know that is not the way it is supposed to work) Brought the wrong appetizer out, she was like oh well I put the order in but I didn't write it down, MY BAD. Then she did not bring us sale or breadsticks until the runner brought our food. Did not refill anything. The host sat us at a family table for 8 people and there were only four of us. They did not pick up the dinner wine glasses as they should ( i have a 2 and four year old) So I moved them myself. Just way to many things to count. I have been to this location several times and its always very sad. There is always a lot of managers there but none ever greet tables. They need to work on training there staff better. I attempted to ask about the special but the server said she had no idea what was going on because she just got back from Thanksgiving break. At the Olive Garden I worked at we always had a briefing before our shifts started, let tins us taste and know everything there was to know about specials to recommend them. I am guessing the reason there was no salad at the table for so long was because we ate during the shift change time and there was probably no one working the salad station. At our Olive Garden we had to learn how to make them for just that reason. They don't have someone there because there are not many people eating in the restaurant. If theres not many people you should not be that busy thus you are able to make the salad. I love Olive Garden but this location is giving it a very bad name.

If comparing this Olive Garden to the restaurant it was a few years ago, it's gone downhill big time. Olive Garden food is Olive Garden food, so no surprises there but the "re-model" on this location was a big fail. We sat in a front room that had stains on the ceiling and tables were randomly placed around the room. Our table was awkwardly plopped right in the middle of the room and the room made me feel like I was eating at a self-serve buffet. I think that was my last straw for Olive Garden- yuck.

They're consistent, which I guess is the whole point of chain restaurants. I like the unlimited salad and breadsticks, which I could pretty much make a meal out of, but their portabello ravioli are decent, too. I, too, ended up here when I went due to the wait being too long at Trudy's, not sure that I'll be back now that Trudy's moved. They do have takeout, though, so if I end up working up north again and driving past this location, I'd consider picking up lunch.

Nothing beats the $7 unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks deal but there's something to be said about their service lately. There have been times when the service is so good it's downright annoying but lately the last couple of times I have been in there I have literally wanted to go crazy on the staff!!! I don't understand how you can literally be staring at like twenty tables and they still make you sit and wait for fifteen minutes. I understand that you have certain waiters for certain sections but do you realize that there are people out there on their lunch breaks and shouldn't have to wait twenty minutes just to sit down when there tables everywhere!?!?! So once I got to my table, finally, I had to sit there and watch server after server walk right past us over and over again until I literally had to wave someone down to take our order. Then not only do we have one horribly slow waiter, but he has some partner that's being trained right next to him taking twice as long. Explain to me how if you have two servers, it can still take forever to get water refills, get the check, etc. Again, I love the food at Olive Garden and I will continue to go there but I just think this location really needs to step their game up. I've been going to this place for years and I don't want to stop going, but the last couple times I have been there, I have been seriously disappointed. C'mon guys.

I hadn't eaten at an olive garden in years. The last time was at one in California, and it was such a bad experience that I hadn't been back to one in ages. Was driving by Park and it looked crazy crowded, so decided to give Olive Garden another try. Glad I did, well at least for this particular location. Service was professional, food and appetizers tasted great, and the prices are pretty good. I tried their new tour of tuscany or something like that (as opposed to their tour of italy). It was better than I was expecting. Overall had a great time out, this location isn't bad for chain italian food.

Good staff, fast food and generous portions. No complaints and my drink was constantly filled. I got an order of chicken and dumpling and it was to for for, it been many a year since I had dumplings like this, I'm glad I tried it.

Went in tonight for a dinner. Lately, I have been coming to this location once a week. Always sitting at the bar. && always coming when it's more busy. The bar neglects their tables that are in the bar area. So since it was slow. I decided to go ahead and eat at a regular table to reduce risk of being neglected as a customer. While telling the "flock" of hostess' up front. Which were mind you. All "5" obviously doing a swell job of keeping busy. Apparently there was a need for all 5 employees to be gathered up front. When implying about a table for two. I was told there will be a 10minute wait. During the time we arrived. There was a UT game playing. Hence the lack of traffic in the restaurant. I was shocked there was even a wait. I could literally not hear any noise in the ENTIRE restaurant. Looking around, seeing not one customer in sight literally. I chose to require an explanation as to why there was a wait. They said there wasn't any tables available. So I went back to my original idea. Eat at the bar tables. As I sat down. I glanced to the right side of the bar. There is a room area. EVERY table that was not accompanying guests was FILLED with uneaten food and dirty dishes. HMMMMMM..... Makes me realize why there was a 10minute wait in a EMPTY restaurant. I simply took a picture before the mess of tables was able to be corrected. For proof. It doesn't end there. I asked to speak with the manager. Explained the situation. While also showing her 3 separate pictures of what I saw. In these pictures showed that just within this particular section of the restaurant. Which there was a total of 8 tables. There was LITERALLY 4 dirty tables. Which is 4/8 making the ratio of dirty tables HALF!!!! That was JUST in that one section. I would hate to have seen the rest of the restaurant. She not once offered an explanation. Instead she made an excuse as to why there was a problem with the tables being bussed. I confronted her as to why she couldn't apologize. && of course then she wanted to give us her condolences. TOO LATE! I will NEVER return to this location. Btw the horrible manager with lack of business ethics name was Rachel Hammond. Well. She was definitely a HAM! Bless her future. It doesn't look very bright!

The unlimited soup and salad is now the "limited" soup and salad. 1 soup and salad and they didn't even give me a refill on my coke. The service is terrible. I don't blame any one that doesn't return and feel sorry for those that do. 1st time here, shame on you, Olive Garden. I'm still here, so wait until you see your tip.

Yea yea yea....Olive Garden has a bad rap about their authenticity and all. I've long accepted this fact, yet I still come back from time to time. No shame, but their food is delicious. I know I can depend on Olive Garden for my pasta fix every time. Actually, I know I'm contradicting myself when I say that I come to Olive Garden mostly because of their breadsticks instead of their pasta dishes, but I can't deny the truth. On paper they're just like any baked bread: fresh, hot, and fluffy on the inside. What really puts their bread ahead of the game is their addition of garlic powder. The fact that the breadsticks are so simple yet taste amazing is really what makes them so addicting. If you order an entree, you also get a choice of a salad or soup. I always go for the salad for their dressing. It's light yet has a strong vinegar component. Pairing that with a simple lettuce, crispy croutons, sliced tomatoes, olives, red onions, and peperoncini, and you got a tasty, working salad. "Would you like shredded cheese in your salad?" they ask me. Of course, pour it on! My usual entree used to be the Seafood Portofino (still bitter that they removed it from their menu). Now I look to the Pappardelle Pescatore, which is a pretty good substitute. In fact, this dish introduced me to Pappardelle for the first time, and it's a fantastic pasta noodle. The seafood in this dish is delicious and the sauce compliments everything very well with a nice spicy touch. Very happy with this dish and I'm impressed with their newer, (dare I say?) IMPROVED, version of their Seafood Portofino. My most recent entree was the Braised Beef & Tortelloni, which was my first time trying. I can definitely see how it's an OG special and a favorite. The sliced beef was soft and tender enough to be cut by my fork. Combined with the portobello mushrooms, this dish has an abundance of umami-ness. It wasn't until writing this review did I learn that tortelloni is simply a bigger version of tortellini, and that my knowledge of Italian suffixes needed a lot of work. The tortelloni's ricotta filling with the marsala sauce resulted in a very rich dish. The taste was excellent, but my tongue can only handle so much. I tend to be skeptical how a tortelloni/tortellini dish can possible make me full, but near the end, I was struggling a bit to finish. I know better now. Short blurb: if you happen to have room after your meal, the Zeppoli dessert is fantastic. Also, don't be afraid to take home the breadsticks! Finally, the risotto bites sounds delicious on paper, but not too impressive in your mouth. Does Olive Garden serve authentic Italian food? Probably not, but if you're willing to splurge a little bit, you're guaranteed to have a delicious meal and leaving really full.

I will start with the good.. The food was amazing and delicious! Timing wasn't bad, but the customer service was horrible! Not a good thing for a place with good food. When I walked in with my boyfriend, we weren't even greeted. The host up front was just looking down at his screen and there was a family waiting next to us as well, I had to say hello to the host. That was strike one. As soon as he put us down for a table he said there would be a ten minute wait, so we sat down. I realized I forgot my phone in the car and I let the host know I was stepping outside for a second, two employees were present when I said this. And two minutes later when I stepped back inside, he looked surprised and said 'oh, do you want a table?' He gave our table away! That was strike two. And to top it all off, our server never even once looked us in the eye, and to me that is very rude. All in all I was disappointed. I hope they work on their customer service so they don't loose their customers.

I love Olive Garden for what it is- a reliable, reasonably priced suburban chain, where you can get standard fare without too log a wait. I've even hosted a party at one. But my experience at this location tonight was awful. Dirty. Poor service. Bad management. - We went at around 830 on a weeknight. There was no wait, and we were escorted to a table in one of three main dining areas. The floor in the dining area was filthy, littered with pieces of paper, napkins, food, etc. - Our table was set but clearly had not been cleaned before-- there were crumbs, and even hair on the table. Disgusting. - When we asked for a new table, they had one of the nearby unclean tables set up for us, and again they did not wipe down the table, so we had to ask for them to clean it. Not only were we double grossed out, they made us feel like we were being demanding guests, when all we wanted was a clean table. - We had to wait forever for salads, and our food came about two minutes after the salad just as we were about to dig in. Our breadsticks came AFTER WE GOT OUR FOOD. I don't know if they purposely delay our salad and breadsticks since it's all you can eat, but whatever the reason, the timing was totally unacceptable. - The manager came around to give us some attention and coddle us a bit, but she didn't even offer to comp our meal. Instead she walked away, we ordered dessert and later that was comped, but what if we hadn't dessert. And after a totally weird and uncomfortable dining experience, a comped dessert just doesn't cut it. Also, what's up with the new menu? Fewer and more boring options, especially for people with dietary restrictions. Still, salad and breadsticks on point as usual. Definitely DO NOT recommend this location. Try a different location or go to the nearby Red Lobster if you're looking for a standard suburban night out.

This is our fault for hitting up an OG when we have hundreds of local Austin restaurants at our fingertips! We were just really craving pasta last night and it's close-by. It all started when the waiting room was full. Okay it's a Sunday night at OG, we get it, no biggie. But when we got seated, the restaurant was empty...what gives? The service was subpar. Water and tea got filled once after it had been sitting there empty when our food was brought out, stayed empty, and then had to flag someone down! Everyone loves those buttery, unhealthy OG breadsticks...so imagine my dismay when I bit into it and the thing was hard! I got Alfredo pasta, the chef went a little buckwild on the garlic...literally an entire garlic of about 10 full on cloves mixed in there. I love me some carbs, so for me to eat maybe 1/4 of my plate says something! Thank god we had just bought a new bottle of Tums this week! For my boyfriend to leave half of his plate, REALLY says something! It should've been one star, but I gave it two...because Olive Garden did not allow me to cheat on my diet last night. And I tried real hard! :)

We routinely come here when family is in town. We don't like chains, but the family isn't willing to try something new. Olive garden is always a safe choice, because the food is consistent and the service is good. Plus I love the chicken gnocci soup. This visit I tried their new citrus chicken dish and it was very flavorful.

Waiter would not bring bread out first. He said if you get soup & salad "it's all one deal and comes at same time" even though we requested. Then at the end we asked to split checks and there was an extra tea ($2.50) and made us feel like we were making a big deal about it when asked to take it off. The place smells like a dirty hotel room with 30 years of spills on the carpet.

Three is the perfect rating. No one is showing off here but they aren't slumming. The stars are for the soup salad and breadsticks (I'd add .5 if I could for the Alfredo dipping sauce)

Sunday Night !! I liked to start from hostess, very friendly and they said that 25/30 min and we got the table in 15 min and booth as i requested. Little slow on the service but thats ok for me, was super busy night. My appetizer came late but the server was sorry for that even the manager showed her courtesy, that was nice. Food was very good and the appetizer hot wings was awesome, bottom line good food, good drinks and good service, we will be coming back. Had a worst experience back in Boston once.

I suppose this restaurant sharpens all of their silverware. I ordered my favorite chicken and gnocchi soup and the spoon was so sharp it cut my lip! The GM was very helpful and comped our meal but still an unpleasant experience. Check your spoons before using them at this location!

Being in a family that loves Italian food, I've actually had people cook me way better Italian food than this restaurant actually does. The food here really disappointed me needless to say. The food here, whilst is pretty good, was not worth the price tagged to the food. Everything here is fairly pricy in my opinion. I might come back here one day (this place is more of a 2.5 star for me), but only if I friend were to drag me along to it.

I wish I could remember my waiters name, but I cant so I will mention him with the name Waiter, LOL, and rate the whole experience. My daughters took me here on Mothers Day.... As expected it was packed, it was crowded, it was full... We were told it would be 30-45 minutes, we waited 15 minutes (thank you). We had a very pleasant waiter who patiently took our orders, answered our questions, revised our orders with a smile, and was was very attentive, yet not annoying. Given how busy it was that day, this is pretty awesome, and considering how many questions me and my girls had along with order revisions, Kudos to you nameless Waiter- Great Job!!! I really do wish I remembered his name so I could give him credit. From what I seen though, everyone there was awesome. Only 1 negative thing happened: My younger daughter, ordered a pizza, did not order chicken on it, yet when she bit into it, it had chicken all over it. She is not a chicken fan, there is no way she "accidentally" ordered chicken. We mentioned this to the waiter who got it taken care of, they removed the order from the check, since my girl didn't want to order another one (she said the pizza had way to much sauce on it too), they also gave us dessert on the house!! A manager came to apologize along with someone else. It really wasn't a big deal, we were still happy there. We just didn't want to pay for it, and we didn't have to, so it all worked out for the best. Besides that, we loved the experience and the customer service was awesome. The food was delicious. That dessert menu - yummers!!! and that chocolate cake is heavenly. The food is always good here and I'm hardly ever disappointed. Yes, I would recommend this place and Yes, I will be back Thank you Olive Garden for your Great Customer Service and Great Food!!!!!!

Olive Garden is cool because you can easily make this place a 3 course dinner. I hadn't been in a while and I wanted to have a relaxing and cheap dinner with my boyfriend. Whenever I had gone in the past it seemed like a pretty cozy place. We got there and our waitress was pretty freaked. I'm sure she was new and I have a soft spot for waitresses because it's scary! But this didn't go the way I had intended. We were put in a very bright spot with people all around us, and it was very noisy. Not the way I had remembered. I wanted a place to enjoy some soup, salad, and some pasta in peace. I know the waitress was just focused on getting us everything we wanted, but she was rushing us a lot. She also brought out the entrees maybe 3-5 minutes after we got our soup/salad... not very good timing. And she kept trying to take away the soup/salad when I wasn't finished. Maybe I sympathize too much, but when the waitress is freaked out I feel bad and then don't enjoy things as much! Especially if people are trying to take my food away! The zuppa toscana was as wonderful as I remembered, but the fetuccine alfredo was not good. There was very little flavor. The portobello mushroom ravioli was fine. So why 4 stars? I have a lot of respect for Darden, one of the world's largest full service restaurant companies. I know they train their employees well and respect their customers. I love the fact that they only let their employees have 3 tables each so they can give them the ultimate service. This waitress was new, but she tried REALLY hard to make sure we had everything we needed. And I still love their bread sticks, soup, and salad. Next time I'll ask for a booth and tell the waitress to calm down... and I'm sure I'll have a wonderful time, like all of my past experiences.

I went here on a little date with my boyfriend. Wait time to sit was about 10 min. N worse We wernt even asked if We wanted a table or booth. We got stuck with a table. Although we prefer a both. We almost left but I'm glad we stayed. The Food was fantastic. Waiter was very attentive and nice. And helpful when I had questions about the menu. His attitude was so up beat. He's the main reason for the high 4 star review.

Terrible service. Just terrible. When you eat out you expect good service and good food. We only got half of that today. A girlfriend and I had lunch here and while the food was good, the service provided be Kieland was terrible. From taking 15 minutes to get drinks back to him asking me if "it was okay" if I used the spoon that came with my Alfredo dipping sauce for my soup because it would take him a whole to get me a new spoon. WHAT?!?! UGH. I will never be going to this Olive Garden again. Even getting our checks back took 10 minutes even though the computer was right next to our table.

Didn't come expecting five stars but expected something better. First off our server CHRIS was awesome. Best one I've had at an OG. Had the calamari app and the marinara was great. Squeeze of lemon on the crisps. Good to go. I ordered the lunch special. Panini lunch. Chicken Florentine. The panini was small and a bit sweet tasting. Kind of odd for sammich to be sweet. Then comes the chicken knocchi soup. Thin and creamy as advertised. But the chicken was pink. Most likely dark meat preserved. Like the kind you see in heb chicken noodle soup. Pink chicken scares me. I tasted it. Not bad. Processed taste. Knocchi were clam shell shaped and too perfectly shaped to not have been frozen pre packaged. Chris definitely made the lunch better. Thank you sir. Also tasted the cheese stuffed ravioli. Bland with no seasoning. I recall more pronounced flavors from previous trips to OG. Too bad.

Love the food here but everytime we go there are little fruit Nats everywhere! We even asked to be moved bc we thought they were just in one spot but no; they are throughout the whole place. We have been lots of times and each time there are fruit flies. They should really do something about that

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
