What a convenience it is to have this outfit pick up and deliver our meals on occasion. They are straight up a professional service. Thank you so much. Peter

I haven't used eat out in for years and tried them tonight hoping they would have improved. Needless to say, they haven't. They promise food in 90 minutes but it took longer. You can track your order in their system and it took them about 40 minutes just to place my order with Chuy's. The driver claimed he saw the order took 40 minutes and had several excuses including blaming Chuys. After all that, the order was partially wrong and the food was cold. Looks like I'll be picking up my food in the future. :)

I ordered a dinner for my sister and her family from Chef Alvaro and she could not stop raving how good it was. There was a last minute change and I had the driver leave the delivery in an ice chest on the front porch, the customer service representative on the phone was so nice and accommodating to assist with this request. I would highly recommend this service for their great customer service, and especially Chef Alvaro for the food. Great Job guys! Thank you again!

Excellent customer service! Had to change my order delivery date and they made it simple and hassle free which is really hard to come by these days! Ordered a hot meal and all the goodies from Chuys in Round Rock to er supersede delivered to my dog sitter. I had a specific time that I wanted it to get there and they were right on the money! Walked in, asked for the lady.. Delivered a hot meal. Bammmm! I prepaid online and tipped so it was easy peasy! I will definitely use this company again.. Did I mention I was traveling and was actually in San Fran California and placed the order? The idea of getting a meal from one of Austin's top restaurant delivered while being states away is good in my book! My dog sitter was very surprised and order was exactly the way I ordered and still hot!

I've been using their service for about 3 years, sometimes as often as once a week depending on my circumstances. Overall I'm terribly pleased and, honestly, some nights I might've gone hungry without them. There have been some errors and hiccups here and there (part of the order missing a couple of times, a cancelled order once, an unfriendly delivery driver on occasion, tepid food a couple of times) but most of the time I'm delivered hot food to my doorstep by a nice person in a reasonable amount time, often in the rain or cold, with a smile on their face. I've even had a couple of "regular" delivery people that got to know my preferences and stuff and made me feel really taken care of. I like that they keep the hot food and the cold food separate and that I can stay updated with the status online...actually tracking the driver door to door (so I know if I have time to take that quick shower or not). And, most importantly, anytime there's been any problem at all they've done something to fix it...from returning to the restaurant and bringing the forgotten dessert to me later to personal apology emails with credits to my account. It seems it would be difficult to completely avoid errors and delays with the nature of their business, but what makes them a great company is how they quickly and sincerely they try to amend them, they have excellent customer service, which sadly is missing from so many places. As for all the reviews that mention the delivery fee and gratuity...seriously? I generally expect to pay for services that are being provided, so I have no problem with that. And by the way, if you order during bad weather, it doesn't hurt to add some extra to the gratuity...remember, you didn't want to go out and drive around in it and they did it for you, that should cost something.

Called in on a wednesday afternoon with a simple order from Chuys and had to remind to person over the phone to make sure she had my adress and to take my card iver the phone. Apparently they were using the ones on file (I was asked or told about saving my card information) which luckily were both incorrect because I dont feel like paying for someone else to eat my food. When the food finally arrived 1hour and 15minutes after the 45minutes quoted to me, cold and dry missing a good portion of the order I called in and was refunded half of the cost which was nice of them but for a service with a $7 delivery fee I feel as though I shouldn't need to go through this trouble.

    (1)
  • T C.

I have used this service for a while now, and the delivery fee has gone up while the service has gotten slower. It used to be a delivery 'window' of 90 minutes, sometimes food would arrive in 30 minutes or 80 minutes. As of late, it seems as if the drivers are aiming to arrive right at the 90 minute mark. Something to keep in mind if you're really hungry and not ordering in advance. Generally no complaints on the food (aside from the rare cold delivery). Perhaps the company is going through growing pains or the upped service fee is a cost of living increase, but so far it hasn't translated into better service. I'll still use them in a pinch, but for $7.95 before food-tax-tip, I'll limit my use and pray Favor doesn't screw something up.

  • Tisha T.

The owner reached out to me, and offered me a refund for my issues that I had with my last order. I have yet to try them again, but I'm updating my review for the simple fact that they took the time to reach out and try to get understanding of the situation. I will give them another try in the future, and update my review at that time.

  • James B.

My food arrived in the stated amount of time, but was completely disgusting because it was completely cold. I've honestly never been so dissatisfied. For $7.95 delivery you'd think they could provide some value in their service. I would never recommend or use this service again.

  • Stephanie W.

I'm surprised they have even three stars; assuming it must come from the desperate that do not want to drive at night. I am so over Eat Out In that I hope they choke on their own marinated assholes while they contemplate their hour and fifteen minute delivery period that frequently becomes two hours. They have yet to get my order correct, consistently do not deliver over time, and continue to impress me with a level of incompetency generally only found in government. Add to this their "deeply caring" about their repeated failure to provide even minimally acceptable service, and their underwhelming apology that apparently starts with blaming the customer and ends at boot licking and I feel I've been violated beyond the exorbitant costs. I hope to never deal with these shitholes again unless it is to put them in their toe-licking, ass-kissing, mother-fucking toad ass places. That the manager laughed and told me I must have miss-ordered when I was looking at my receipt was the last straw. I said never-again the last time they got my order wrong, delivered it cold, and late. Shame on me for not driving myself to Chuy's -- they have "to go parking" allowing me to stay comfortably in my batman pj's for less money, hotter food, and friendlier service.

  • Louise B.

This was my first time to use this service. My food arrived in 50 minutes, less than the 1 hour guarantee. The order was correct and the food was hot and tasty. Charles, the driver was very polite and friendly. I will definitely be using this service often.

I was a loyal customer of over 2 years with this service, as they are one of a very few that delivers restaurant food in the San Antonio area. Let me start by saying they deliver to every single zip code in the city except one, mine. I am exactly 2 blocks outside their delivery radius, so in addition to the FIFTEEN % delivery fee (that's right, they charge 15% of your food total to deliver to you), they then charge me a mandatory $10 gratuity (that's right, they charge me on top of the 15%). I don't mind tipping my drivers, and I'm a damned good tipper, but I don't like being told how much I have to tip. I'm an adult, I know how to tip 10% of my food total for delivery and 20% for eating in a restaurant. However, I was okay with this mandatory tip for the last 2 years or so, up until today. Today, I got a call back about my $54 food order from TGI Fridays (which turned out to be $78 with fees). I was told that because it was 2 miles further than the normal place I ordered from, I was now going to be charged a dollar for every mile in addition to my mandatory $10 tip. Where I normally ordered from was 16 miles out. Never got charged more than the $10 tip + the 15% delivery fee. Today, they wanted $18. In addition to the 15% delivery fee. Let's not forget that they always quote a 90 minute delivery. That's right, no matter what time you order, how slow they might be, even if you're less than a mile or two away, you don't get your food for AT LEAST 90 minutes. I have waited as long as 2.5 hours to get an order before. When I called to find out why I was being charged extra, the man I spoke with, Chris, was rude and flat out lied to me about the gratuity changing. After several minutes of him trying to talk me out of canceling my order, I finally got it canceled. A few moments later, a very nice gentleman called me to say, "Oh, we'll let you have it for the $10 delivery fee. That earlier mishap shouldn't have happened. We want your business, so we'll keep delivering for the flat rate $10 gratuity in addition to the 15% delivery fee you were paying." Here's the thing. Even though I ALWAYS tipped on top of that $10, I don't like to be forced to do it, especially with the exorbitant amount of delivery fees that are already enforced. Who wants to order $54 worth of food and have it come out to $96???? That's insanity. I told the gent that called back that I would never give their company my business again, and I mean that. When you have a customer issue like this, you should try to do a little more to soothe them than "We'll let you keep paying us for the original price." How about a little discount today, especially in light of the absolutely awful experience? A customer of 2+ years, that was ordering every 2 weeks in the amount of $75-$100 or more is worth it, in my opinion. Shame on you Eat Out In. You're absolutely destroying the pleasant experience you once were so careful to foster.

A bit pricey but the tracking on the website is detailed and makes it easy to keep an eye on things. The last few times I've ordered through them the service has been swift and friendly, with the hot food piping hot. They offer service from a nice variety of restaurants. It's a nice way to treat myself once in a while.

  • T p.

have been ordering from them for a longtime now. They always screws up. Last 3 orders from them requested a special sauce and every time driver says there is no special sauce. This has been becoming a habit on their end. I would not recommend this service to anyone. They charge 7.95 for delivery but service is just simply crappy.

  • Cathy T.

I'm updating my review because the manager reached out again and apologized and offered to try to make things better. Up until recently, I was very pleased with the service, so maybe it's more of a training issue. We ordered today and food order was correct, delivery early, and deliverer was very nice.

Have only used them once...but i gotta say, I am impressed! Ordered from 2 places for Friday afternoon/evening. They arrived 10 minutes before estimated and everything was great. Driver was so polite. Order system was easy. I'm switching over from dine on demand which is total crap. This company did a great job for us and we were very pleased! Thanks for the great customer service!

Wow, I am surprised at all the bad reviews. I've used this service a half dozen times since moving to Austin and there is nothing better for busy employed moms who don't always want to cook. I am baffled by anyone complaining about the wait time or the fee...these seem like normal business practices when they have to go to a restaurant to get your order, then drive through Austin traffic to deliver it to you. I'm willing to pay the fee because they are doing exactly what I don't want to do. I hope they are charging enough to stay in business because I think they are awesome.

Will never order from them again 30 minutes before my order is supposed to arrive i get a call that the restaurant that I chose wasn't open. You called and told me this earlier I've already waited an over an hour I could have made other arrangements. And my card was charged for the order

First time to ever use the service and they are late by 1hr. Wife an I had time to go out to get dinner be back before the driver showed. I know the Indian food I ordered only takes 10min. Great idea but not ran well.

For those days when it's impossible to get off your couch or out of bed and all you want is for someone to bring you some Chinatown give these guys a call. Ordering online was easy. I was even able to tip on my card-- nice. It said the food would arrive in 45 minutes to an hour but a we got ours in 25. BAM. Not only was their delivery person kind and courteous, she was pleasant when my yappy dog came to greet her. We were impressed with her timing and excellent service. To top off our experience with Eat Out--- everything was there. The extra egg rolls, the egg drop soup, the general tsos and everything else in our order was piping hot to boot. The only downside to this service is that you pay for convenience-- but it's not outrageous. And I'm not one to put a price on convenience. This place will facilitate many uninterrupted Netflix marathons and lazy days in the future for me.

I am SO pleased with the catering service at Eat Out In. We used Chef Alvaro and it was AMAZING! The meal was for our company department Holiday party and everyone was blown away with the presentation and taste of all the food. Delivery was right on time and working with Amy at Eat Out In to book was the easiest thing I've ever done. I HIGHLY recommend their services and will most definitely be a returning customer for future events.

Company made an error an accidentally associated my credit card number with another customer's account. Now I have to cancel my credit card and deal with over two hundred dollars in charges that another customer made to my card. Customer service did not offer any help other than letting me know they had my card on file and associated with another customer's account. I would not trust this company or do business with them any more. At the very least request that they do not keep your credit card number on file.

They have saved the day for this full time working mommy more than a few times. Delivery drivers have always been friendly. They keep your beverages and cold items ,like dessert and fruit salad, in an ice chest separate from the hot food items. My most recent order came from California Pizza Kitchen which is a hassle for to-go orders because you've got to park and walk into the mall at the south Austin location, but everything we ordered was accurate and still the perfect warm temperature. It does take a little over an hour during dinner time, so plan ahead and order early!!

We ordered some indian food for our company and gave a specific list. These guys got random food which was not at all on the list. I am not sure if they even got the food from the place we ordered. Very very unprofessional. Worst service. We will never order through them ever again.

I have used EOI, Dine on Demand, and Postmates. EOI ranks in the middle. Better selection than DOD but worse than PM. My main problem is ridiculously long wait times compared to the other two.

I use delivery services all the time. It's funny how I never review the good ones. Well I just had such a bad experience with Mr Delivery, I thought I should show props to the others that treat me well. I order all the time, and very rarely have an issue, but when I do, they take care of it ASAP. Awesome service!

The first thing you should know is that for this kind of convenience, you're going to pay a lot. However, if you're too damned lazy to get off the sofa, and you're craving Chuy's, this is the way to go. The drivers are always friendly and helpful. The one time they ran late, they called immediately to let me know about the delay. Somehow, the food was still hot. And whoever mans the phones is definitely on top of things. Twice I've forgotten something or made a note that wasn't clear, and they called me within 2 minutes of placing my order to get clarification. It's great to see someone who really cares about getting it right. My only complaint is the inflated price. I know the restaurant prices won't be cheap, and I'm more than willing to pay for delivery and service. However, their menu lists higher prices than the restaurants do. I'm guessing that's done so they'll make a profit off each item ordered, but I would prefer to see that in the cost of delivery or the service fee.

Eat Out In definitely deserves five stars!! Their food is outstanding, they offer several options and their service is straightforward and excellent! They don't hike up their prices like other companies, they simply just do what they need to do to get the job done and please the customer. Every time I use them they are on time, the presentation is gorgeous and they are very gracious! Chris, the gentleman that I had the pleasure of working with for our last event was amazing. I wasn't sure exactly what we wanted, so he offered several suggestions and made the entire process very simple. Thank you Chris for your hard work, it was greatly appreciated. I couldn't have been happier with him and the outcome of our event. Thanks again for such wonderful service and I will be happy to spread the word about the outstanding service your company provides! I Look forward to working with you again soon!

Eat Out In delivers to every zip code around 78721 but not to 78721. I have asked for reasoning for this as we used their service for years while living in 78704 and 78724, but have never gotten an answer. I think there is a misconception about our area, like it is dangerous or something, but it's not. It's really disappointing. Get your business together and stop discriminating against 78721!

Had to change my review. Food just kept arriving lukewarm and delivery people were obnoxious, especially fat chick that was here last. Food was sitting getting colder in the cold while she checked with two people(san antonio and austin) to see if she could take my check. I finally told her to keep the food. Found Deliver Ring, where everything is done online, cheaper delivery prices and much more efficient.

As others have said, I am very surprised of some of these bad reviews. Well of course there will be a wait. You aren't the only one ordering food from them and then at the restaurant they have guests there as well, so it will take time to get the food to you. If you want something that quick and to not pay a driving fee, then get in your own car and go to McDonalds or something. The company I work for orders from them on a regular basis. On a regular basis meaning Mon-Thurs every week (with an occasional skip day from us going out to eat as a group). Their customer service is amazing! I take everyones order and I put it into the website, so I'm the one that deals with them each time. Every time I have called and asked a question they are very quick to give me an answer and extremely nice about it. Every driver that has come to drop off the food has been very nice and friendly as well. The one time they were going to be a tad late (because the driver had double checked our order and the restaurant had messed up, so they had to re-cook their food) they called and let me know. Definitely a great service and we will continue to use them and recommend them to others!

Just used Eat Out In for the first time and I was mightily impressed. ETA on my delivery was an hour and a half after I placed my order and the driver showed up 30 minutes early! Food wasn't hot more like lukewarm but I don't put that on the driver or on Eat Out In at all. Although overall price of the meal was a little high with their service charge IMO I would order and use this service again

Let me start off saying that I am (was) a regular customer for Eat Out In. I ordered P.F. Chang's through their service the other night. The first time I ordered P.F. Chang's through them, it was fantastic, however, this time it was COLD. Not lukewarm, but very cold. It took an hour and a half for the food to even get to us. I do not recommend paying such high prices for cold calamari that takes a ridiculous amount of time to arrive. If you want delivery, order a pizza from Papa John's instead - at least the delivery/service fee is much cheaper and the food is delivered in half the time. And if you want a 5 Star Dining Experience, do not expect it to be delivered from Eat Out In.

  • Aaryn P.

We have used Eat Out In twice in the past few days - once for Chuy's and once for Fire Bowl and love being able to order in different things up here in Cedar Park. Seriously, there's not a lot of good delivery up here...and it is awesome to have some variety. Each time they have come out, their drivers have arrived early or close to delivery time which has been great. We don't really mind the pricing - the service is incredibly valuable. Or orders have been spot-on both times. We wish there was a little more variety in the $10 minimum restaurant category - I don't think we will probably ever use the ones that are minimum $100 unless we have a party or something..but still, being able to order other things is a vast improvement over the usual.

So rude!! Just ordered for the first Time and when I answered the door the guy had the nerve to CHEW me out saying they had been calling and emailing me over and over. I went and got my phone and had zero emails and zero phone calls. He KEPT going as if it was somehow my fault. I gave them my correct address, which is less than a mile from the restaraunt I ordered from. Not my problem he's an idiot who can't get my physical address, email address or telephone number correct. Will NOT be ordering from them again.

    (1)
  • Carla S.

Hey!!! Are you lazy AND hungry?!?!?!?!?! Then take note - these guys ROCK!!! I may or may not order from a place that's LITERALLY up the street from me and pay these fine folks to bring it to me (okay, I DO), but every time they are kind, cool, and PROMPT. I love them, and even though I'm about to leave Clarksville - I know I can count on them to give me my Zocalo Cafe's nacho fix in the Arboretum (plus, I'll feel a lot less idiotic ordering from up there).

  • Stephanie F.

After our last great experience with EOI, we ordered Chuy's again and this time our experience was unpleasant. Took an hour and a half to get our order. We got salsa, but no chips. Everything was just barely warm - had to microwave it. They charged us for something that Chuy's does not charge for (tiny creamy jalapeno that's supposed to come along with the chips). Very disappointed.

I ordered Marie Callender's through Eat Out In and the only good thing I can say is that they were on time. I'm not sure if they are responsible for making sure the order is correct, which I think they should be, but when I placed my order online I specified my order for wings be all buffalo style. When I received them they were half buffalo and half sweet. Not to mention when I received my order the delivery guy suggest that I unpack the order because it wasn't bagged up. Each container was separate. That will stop me from tipping in advance next time. I will say that I emailed the manager of Eat Out In the following day to which she sent her apologies and credited me for the wings. I may give the service another chance someday.

First of all, if you've read any of my other reviews, you'd know that one star reviews are rare for me - I've only written a handful in 5 years as a Yelper. Well, these guys ticked me off something fierce last week and they and got one. This was the original review, what I like to call 'short, but not so sweet': I placed an order for several entrees from Galaxy Cafe and never heard from them again. When I called them an hour and a half later, they said they lost my order. No apology, just an offer to start the process over again. No thanks. Since then though, the owner has reached out multiple times through Yelp to apologize. They are clearly determined to convince me that this was not typical of their service, and I appreciate the hell out of that. So for now, I'm upping that one star to three - once I try their service again, we'll see what happens... Thanks to the owner Jackie D for your concern, and heartfelt apology.

Amazing! Amy & Tammy at Eat Out In made me look like a rockstar at our company picnic! We had Chuy's catered for us and they completely took the guess work out of it for me. I had no idea how to feed 80 people - but they knew exactly what they were doing! (all the way down to warning me that I might not have enough creamy jalepeno). Amy even went out of her way to purchase baskets so that our staff could have chips/dip on the table. I am typically high maintenance because I get bogged down in details and I want things "just so". . . this typically is met with at least a little frustaration from others. . . . the crew at Eat Out In didn't blink - they delivered and even went above my high expectations! The serving staff at the event was top notch as well! Happy accomodating and down to business. I was blown away! FANTASTIC!

I really love this service. I don't know why I see bad reviews at all and I notice that most of them are pretty old. Let me start off by saying that the people who take the orders when you place calls with them are the best. They are friendly and constantly go out of their way for great customer service. They do tell you how long it will take before you place the order so I don't know why people are griping about the wait times. Plan ahead, it is simple. They are a wonderful service with wonderful people and I am very happy to be a customer of theirs. Thank You Eat Out In for all that you do

  • j m.

I guess the way Eat Out In deals with one of their delivery-drivers forging a credit card signature is to cast doubt on the customer and imply that I am lying -- because I've got nothing better to do than to chase down $4. The only thing "clear" about the receipts she sent me is that her driver traced my signature (using the carbon paper) onto another receipt -- you DO realize that's how he did it, don't you Jackie D.? (Don't you think it odd that all the other receipts showed that I tip '$4--' and the receipt in question showed a tip for $8.09? I don't tip pennies, I don't do math when I'm writing the tip. This is clear on the other receipts.) And I really doubt this is (and will be) an isolated event; I just think I'm one of the few people who has noticed it, or it's a new driver. (Why would a driver risk his job for $4? He wouldn't -- it would only be worth it if he did it over and over again and got away with it.) If the manager or owner wants to comfort people by saying this is an isolated event and that it has been dealt with, that's fine, but to insinuate that a customer is lying and that they "clearly" showed they did nothing wrong is a f%$king joke. At least one customer was stolen from by at least one malevolent driver forging signatures, and that's just fine with Eat Out In.

Used this service many times over 25 years in Austin, since they started. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but generally got our food to our offices. However, they've started to get a bit uncaring about service as they've grown. During this last SXSW, one of their drivers was parked illegally in the Car2Go spots downtown. When we approached in a Car2Go to park there, he gave us a lot of attitude and eventually told me to "shut the f*ck up" and "get out of here, tourist." I assume he said the latter since we were wearing our SXSW badges. But he was dead wrong. And given all the business we'd done with them over the years, I was pretty incensed. So, it's Longhorn Delivery or some other service for us, from now on. I don't want this same maniac screaming at clients in front of our building, even if he IS trying to deliver food! For a service that delivers food from other restaurants, staff is their only major asset. If this is who is working for them, then GOODBYE. UPDATE 3/21/12 - the owner of the company personally apologized for this driver's actions and dealt with him appropriately. I have raised my rating to three stars to reflect the fact that while they have their problems, their management is responsive.

Love this service!! Sure it's a bit more expensive, but I don't have to leave the house and we can eat in our PJ's! I just consider it a convenience charge . . . The drivers have always been SUPER nice and never creepy. We seem to order PF Chang's frequently and it really holds up to the delivery time. EZ's also holds up to the drive-time as well.

Who in Austin needs their food delivered? If you don't want to dine out, just get in your car and pick up a take out order- don't wait over an hour for eatoutin to deliver you food that is in truly inedible condition. While the dishes we ordered from Galaxy may have been passable eating in, or at least eating it within 20 minutes after it was prepared, it the hour and a half it took for eat out in to get us our food it had truly become a mess. I would not say I got my money's worth on any front, especially since our slow as molasses delivery guy didn't have change and helped himself to a $7 tip for his shoddy work. Definitely don't use this service, just go and pick up your food, unless you like feeling totally taken advantage of and throwing away your money.

Eat Out In rocks! I use them probably once a month or so to get hot, delicious food delivered to me at my office. My friend and I have sort of made it a tradition that we order something every paycheck. We've ordered from muliple restaurants in our area (South), and every time the food has been on time, accurate and hot! We have a variety of restaurants to choose from over here, and they are ALL delicious. The delivery people have always been polite and made sure the the order is correct before leaving. There's nothing worse than ordering something only to find out after it's too late that something is wrong. I've never had any issues with fraudulent credit card usage, by the way. I hope appropriate action was taken (meaning the driver was fired). Yes, the prices are jacked up a bit, but you're paying from someone to drive to your place because you're too busy/lazy/tired/whatever to go get it yourself. It's worth it to me to avoid the traffic, lines, etc. to pay the extra money. Convenience is worth paying for! Also, I love that I commented on their page on Facebook to send me the latest catalog, and within a few days, it was here! YAY! Thanks for the great service!

Eat Out In totally redeemed themselves tonight, in my eyes. I had an awful experience with them previously, but tonight went smoothly. First of all, they have updated their website and it has become much more user friendly. I was able to easily place an order with them from Vinny's. I was immediately emailed a copy of my order with the estimated arrival time. Our order arrived a full 20-30 minutes early. I have no idea how they got the food that quickly. Eat Out In really "delivered" for me tonight (sorry, I couldn't resist).

I asked Eat Out In to cater my wedding. They did everything perfectly. I contacted them about a year or so before the wedding. Amy was who I kept in contact with. Over the full course of our correspondence, she was very thorough and always raised important questions that showed she was thinking of the details. I didn't know what I wanted at first, and she was willing to talk me through their options. They are able to enlist help from other companies/people to make pretty much any of your requests come to life. I had been getting so sick of visiting traditional caterers for weddings that had everything as a package deal, and you had to have certain things, and it was very difficult to have control over the price you wanted to pay. With Eat Out In, we were able to customize our needs exactly. We ended up only wanting a couple of things from a restaurant (they normally place orders through restaurants and deliver that food). What we ended up being able to do was place somewhat custom orders through to Chef Alvaro (a chef they go to to give you more options). He has a menu you can choose from, so we asked for some things as they came, but for others we were able to add things. I added a cherry sauce for the Roasted Pork Tenderloin, and we asked for a Waldorf salad. We were able to go to the tasting, and it was literally some of the best food I've ever eaten. We got compliments from EVERYONE at the wedding about how great the food was. On top of offering what seems like endless options for food, and control of the price, they also work with the American Party Rental company to provide you table setup if you need. It was nice to relay the details to Amy, and then have her take care of all of the correspondence with them. I had a couple of face-time meetings with Amy where we met at the venue to ensure our plan would work, but other than that, she got them to show up on time and everything was exactly as I had asked for. The rental company was also able to come back to take all of the rental items away at the end of the night for a small fee. My venue had strict rules about that, but it was worth the small fee to have the peace of mind that they could take care of it then. Amy has an endless amount of patience (though try to not test her, she's very nice and doesn't deserve too trying of an account!). From time to time, we'd have to go over a couple of details again, but that always happens, and she was always obviously trying to make sure everything was just right. I couldn't have been happier with the price and level of service. They also provided us a TABC-certified server to serve the alcohol at our wedding, and his setup was really nice. We had water, tea, and lemonade all easily accessible to the guests, while he served from the keg, Margarita machine, and bottles of wine. They even made sure to save my husband and I a plate of food before our guests got to all of it. They just made sure to take care of us as well as they could, while being as polite as possible about only asking questions when they really needed to. Weddings can be very stressful, but they pulled through in every way that I had hoped and asked for. Seriously, if you can get this custom of an experience through Eat Out In, for literally about half the price of what other catering companies try to force you to pay for their services, I really don't see why you should try to go with anyone else. Again to sum it up, everything was what we asked for (no package deals), the menu was a hodge podge of things we dreamed up, restaurant food, and from a fantastic chef, they work with a rental company to provide setup and tear-down services, and it was about half the price of most catering companies (especially those targeted towards weddings). Look no further! UPDATE: I just wanted to add one thing. I thought I would be around at 4 when everyone was showing up to start setup for the wedding, but I ended up being really late. So without any confirmation from me, they were able to set everything up as I had asked. They only had minor questions about where things were that they needed. They just did so much without having to ask me. Also, it was really windy at first and they were completely prepared with a lot of those plastic clamps that help hold down the table linens. It was reassuring that they were able to prepare for issues like that.

I'm actually surprised by the reviews on this site because from what we experienced, they ought be given a gold medal! I own an event venue and we had a new catering company that had never been to our facility, scheduled to cater an event this past month. Due to a million issues between the caterer and the family that hired them, the catering company was fired on the spot ONE hour prior to their ceremony start time. Dinner was due to start in TWO hours. I called a couple of larger catering companies to see if they could accommodate and because of the incredibly short notice, no one could assist - until I called Eat Out In. I had a dispatch woman named Loretta get on the line and treat this like the emergency that it was and within minutes had County Line BBQ pick up where the fired caterer left off. In a nutshell, they had hot piping food, for 130 guests, delivered and ready to eat just 3 hours after the other guy was fired - ONE hour past our original time. Trust me when I say that's an incredible feat! We had staff that put together the rest and made it look like it was all intentional but it simply wouldn't have happened had it not been for Eat Out In. Their manager Daryn was terrific and the customer service we experience was unparalleled. I'd call in a pinch in a heart beat!

Ordered Chuy's for a work lunch. Have to say, the ordering was super simple, only error was the one I made. Food arrived super fast and all of it warm. A few items didn't have the person's name on it, but it was easy to identify what was what.

I've had quite a few medical issues in the last two years, and consequently have been ordering take-out more often. I've had mixed results with Eat Out In - love that i can get food from a (slightly) larger variety of restaurants, but the service has been uneven. Usually fair, sometimes good, once or twice really bad. This evening, however, marks the end of my relationship with the company. I placed an order from Chuy's. The delivery person arrived in record time, i signed the receipt, gave him a generous tip, and he departed. When i opened the food, i realized that the order i'd been given wasn't mine. I called the office to let them know what had happened. I was advised that my food would be brought, and i should return the incorrect order to the delivery person. Never had that happen with delivery, before - usually they tell you to keep the incorrect order. When the gentleman that had delivered the incorrect order came back, it was without my actual order. He packed up the food he'd brought and indicated that HE WOULD BE DELIVERING IT TO THE INDIVIDUALS THAT HAD ORDERED IT. Bear in mind, i had opened the containers, and the food had been in my possession for at least 20 minutes. When the young man with my order showed up, 30 minutes after my delivery time, he had me sign another slip, so apparently i am being charged full price for this fiasco. I can only hope that the folks who ordered the meal i got the first time actually got a replacement meal, and not the cold one from my place. Edit to add: i was indeed charged for the meal. Received a followup from management a few weeks later, due to this review. Did not offer a refund, but did offer to send me a free meal, which i declined. Will definitely no longer use this delivery service.

Oh my. . . what an experience -- my first time to use Eat Out In last week! It started out bad, and only got worse. Ordered County Line food for a corporate lunch, and the food (2 Mixed Platters and an order of chopped brisket) was delivered on time at 11:30 am. However, it seemed that one the chopped brisket was missing, and for some reason when the deliveryman was looking through the food boxes, he inserted his finger into the brisket!!! Health Dept.!!! He assured me his hands were clean -- right? I told him that I would not accepted the meal he had fondled and to bring another of the Mixed Platters and the missing chopped brisket, which he proceeded to do. I called Eat Out In to explain what happened, and they told me they would call County Line about the missing chopped brisket and the need for a replacement Mixed Platter. I went back to the kitchen and began sorting all the sides (so many sides) and discovered the missing chopped brisket! I ran to the phone to inform Eat Out In about my mistake, but that I still needed the fondled meal replaced. Fine. The deliveryman arrived back to the office, with the chopped brisket, but no replacement for the fondled meal!? Back to County Line he went, and I called Eat Out In again. They put me on hold to call County Line and sure enough the deliveryman had left the replacement meal at the restaurant. Finally by 12:45 pm, everything was corrected. So why the A-OK? Sigh... I have to give Eat Out In credit for diligently working to correct the problem. They did not stop until is was corrected to my satisfaction, even though I was the one who initially made the mistake! The following day, Darryl, the manager from Eat Out In called me to check on my first experience. He couldn't apologize enough, and provided me a $25 credit on my next order. A bad experience is a bad experience but I'd try them again, because they worked so hard to correct it. However, if I have a problem the second time, I''ll try the other food delivery service in town.

I have my business lunches catered and this service is incredible! If the group is small I have to go from place to place to get everything I need. If the group is big I've been relying on the few places with decent food to deliver. I don't remember how I came across Eat Out In but I'm so thankful I did. Now I get to serve food from known eateries (I'm big on buying local). I'm also not stuck with the same places over and over again. I also don't have to give 24 hours notice. They also offer utensils and plates so I no longer have to stock up or make a mad dash at the last minute to pick it up. Today's order total was a bit over $100 with a delivery fee just shy of $15. My time, energy, and sanity is well worth the low delivery fee. My car also won't smell for days of mexican/italian/pizza. As I was writing this review, they called (I placed my order online-Super easy!) and asked if I would prefer my order buffet style. It wasn't an option through the place I was ordering but what I actually wanted. Major bonus! Love the follow up and love the customer service. I also love that you can order online. You have lots of options and full menus. They also save your delivery address which is extremely convenient for me. I recommend to everyone!

I've been using Eat Out In basically since I moved to Austin in 2001. I order from them at least once a month, so it's gotten to the point where they don't even ask for my credit card during delivery anymore. Only one time have they messed up my order, and that was sometime last year. I'd ordered from Chinatown, and Eat Out In forgot to give me my crab rangoons. But the driver came back a lot sooner than I thought she would with that yummy goodness. The restaurants from which you can order depend on your zip code. It gets a little expensive, which is why I don't do it all the time. I mean, $6.95 delivery charge on top of a $10 minimum for one person is a bit much. It's a much better value if you're ordering for more people, obviously. But for days when I'm feeling lazy or have too much to do to find time to cook something or go out myself and grab food from somewhere, Eat Out In is a knight in shining armor. The only thing that pisses me off is that they no longer do business with Cheesecake Factory. Of course, it's not like Cheesecake Factory is that far away from my house, so I suppose this could be a note for me to get off my lazy butt once in a while and get it myself. Check 'em out. You won't be sorry... unless you live in some crappy far away zip code to which EOI does not deliver food from decent restaurants. In that case, you should move.

Ok Jackie D ! ...Jennifer and her team on Brodie Oaks rocks ! So we ordered dishes from this restaurant right, to be delivered and arranged buy Eat Out In , the food arrived wrong, immediately we thought ok ,lets cancel the order, and order pizza instead, a little upset, but not much, because we had some crackers and cheese as apptz. If you will...so we gave you guys a shot at correcting it, so Jennifer took over and got the team to work in sinc and deliver. Nicely done Jen ! :) Really,..the delivery guy Gene ( I hope i got your name dude!) Your attitude was outstanding and crucial to the outcome, love your attitude, then i called EOI and got a hold of Jennifer cool kat ! In the female form, cool and collected ,apologized and told me what was she Going to do to correct it. Over all great experience could have been worse and waited another hour for delivery, it was fixed, delivered and Executed within 30/35 mts. Great effort ! Kudos to your organization, To err is human, to really screw up you need a computer. ( borrowed That from a sticker the other day) ... I WILL ORDER FROM YOU AGAIN ! :) Ricardo Villalta

the Good: Well, you don't have to leave the house and the guy on the phone was friendly enough. They got the order right and exactly what was placed was delivered. the Bad: Even after adding the delivery fee I just couldn't figure out why my order was close to $10 more than it should of been. (I added a tip separately.) When the guy got to my house, I asked for an itemized receipt and he didn't have one. the Ugly: It took more than two hours for me to get the food. I don't know if I would really call that convenient. Maybe if I had two broken legs and no car.

Horrible Service. Beyond Belief. You're beyond lucky if they get your order right and even more so if your servicer is a complete lunatic. They hire individuals with recorded mental issues and they're fine with them coming into your home. Case 1#: Delivery Guy walks in all the way into my kitchen when I insist the front door is fine. He walks in and I after I sign what he needs, he sits DOWN at my kitchen table chair and starts talking about his childhood. To get him out I had to pretend I was leaving....When I called Eat out in to talk about it, they said I wouldn't have that problem if I didn't let him past the front door! Case#2: The delivery woman gave herself an additional $10 tip after she left and even though I have the carbon copy to show I didn't authorize it (nor was it done online), they still just stole the money. And on top of that the order was wrong! Case #3: Food was stark cold. The drinks I paid for were missing. The delivery woman was rude. Strike Three and they are out of my book.

I ordered Chuys through Eat Out In and my food (tacos) arrived COLD, and the tortillas were so soggy. I don't know if you've ever tried to reheat a taco but hot, microwaved lettuce is far from tasty. I paid nearly double what Id have paid to pick it up myself and am left wishing I had just gone myself.

UPDATE! Darren from Eat Out In contacted me today. He apparently saw my Yelp review, and wanted to do something about it. I commend this company for their amazing follow-up! I was NOT expecting anything to come of it. Anyhow, I received a phone call from Darren, he informed me that he will refund my entire purchase price for my inconvenience, and ALSO gave me $25.00 gift certificate to try their service again, and see if things go better. HOORAY for good old fashioned customer service. I really appreciate it, Eat Out In!! =)

Our office has lunch brought in for meetings and special events all the time. We have been using Eat Out In for a while and are very happy with this service. Staff is very professional, efficient and always friendly. They have a great variety of restaurants to choose from and deliver to many zip codes. I highly recommend them for events!

We ordered three hours ago. The driver messed up our order and gave it to someone else. He was supposed to return with the correct order. That was over two hours ago. Our food is still not here. To the people who incorrectly got our order, you ordered a small fried rice with an egg roll: did you really think that your order would consist of two very full bags of food? I hope you enjoyed our dinner, jerks. Consider yourself warned.

I've used Eat Out In for years, and the quality of service has greatly declined. Not counting the quality of the food, which is really dependent on the individual restaurants, especially when they're providing the take-out containers. The gratuitous items added with the restaurant changes on a whim (some of which you might want to order if you know it's not going to be included). Accuracy of orders isn't consistent, asking for minor order changes isn't always acknowledged, or you more (and charged accordingly without consulting with you). Even being a regular customer doesn't guarantee you'll get a polite response when you let them know. For the price they charge for delivery, they should make sure what you get is what you ordered and not give attitude when you let them know it's not. Delivery times can really vary from the same restaurants. The drivers have almost always been very friendly and nice. What finally made me stop using them is two of the last three times I ordered from them in the last two months I just happened to use my bank card, and both times I got double-charged (the totals charged on two different days), which required contacting my bank. When I asked to talk to a manager the last time I called them, I did not get a manager, but someone insisting it was just being "processed" by my bank. I know what a processing charge looks likes on my online bank statement, and there has never, ever been two "processing" charges from the same vendor on the same day, unless I've made two purchases on the same day. If you use them, pay in cash.

I love Eat Out In! It is perfect for a mom who doesn't always want to cook and has two kids under the age of three whom shouldn't be inflicted on the world. Sometimes you just don't feel like fast food or pizza, and that is where Eat Out In comes into the picture! The food is always hot, and the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was due to the fact that there just aren't that many restaurants in my area. Otherwise though, totally a great service!

This review is FROM THE INSIDE. Yes I worked delivering food for them for a bit. It was actually fun. I liked it. Especially the part about picking up food in Central Austin, having to hit 6 convenience stores for some oddball drink and then delivering it to some dickhead out at Lake Travis and getting stiffed on the tip when gas is 3 bucks a gallon!!! But, I digress, no bad tipper angst should tint a good review, right? What EAT OUT IN is, is an extremely useful service! They have a bunch of drivers situated all over town and call them (via radio) to pick up orders at like 30 different restaurants and deliver to addresses found on the orders at pickup time. They deliver to most Austin zip codes though generally you need to be in the same general part of town as the restaurant (north, south, round rock). Would I personally use them? Sure if i was bedridden and rich. And you might be suprised how many people in Austin are either or BOTH of these things. Usually they live about 20 turns off the nearest main road too. But I met some of the nicest old ladies and always tried to brighten their day with some niceness or some wit. Hey, its what I do. ;-) One thing that continually amazed me was people ordering from a place like Fridays. OK Fridays is fair and so is Chilis but come on. If you are going to order out, go big. Order from some place that has something interesting on the menu people! Something that at least the driver can be tortured a bit by having to smell for the 20 minutes it takes to get to your place. My favorite places to deliver from were County Line (kitchen like a skating rink but bbq smell to die for), Hula Hut (lotsa hottie waitresses that were usually nice), North Chuys 183(see hula), Manuels (where the beautiful people dine) and Satay (never got a single order right that I heard of). This job was an adventure. And it was fun. And I met some nice people. Most of the drivers were pretty cool. But please if you are gonna use them (and they are not cheap to use) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tip your driver. He gets paid squat by EOI. You may never see him again. But for the lifespan of your order HE HAS YOUR FOOD IN HIS HANDS and HE (or she) WILL REMEMBER your tipping skills. Good tipping karma is good karma. PERIOD. Just sayin.

I have been using Eat Out In personally and professionally for MANY years and never really thought to write a review. But oh how I should. This is the best delivery service in town. PERIOD. They are consistently adding restaurants and keeping up with the needs of the town. Their service is always fantastic, the delievery drivers pleasant and personable, and if a mistake is made, they are quick to fix it. For office catering, personal dinner, or a private party that you just don't want to cook for (I mean hey- order some food, put it in your own dishes, warm it up in the oven and your guests will never know!) they are THE BEST OPTION around. Seriously. If you have never used the Eat Out In service- what are you waiting for?!?!?!?!? Amy and Darren (and the delivery crew, et all), I will always appreciate the excellent customer service your have provided to us over the years. Thank you Eat Out In for years of service to me and my company. You are truly awesome.

OK, I was dead exhausted last night, so I ordered Chuys from Eat Out In. Yes, just for myself. I ordered the Chicken Burrito. The bill, including delivery and tip came to over $15. When I ordered online, it said that I would receive my food at 7:24, but it came at 6:55. It was hot and delicious! Nothing like eating Chuys when you are tired, on your couch, in front of your TV. Nice.... Anyway, I was impressed with their timeliness, the quality of the food and the expediency of the delivery. I will use them again when I need them. It is an expensive option, but it was worth it!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The customer service at Eat Out In is so bad that inspired me to write my first Yelp review! This is not a company I would have ventured to try on my own, but a friend gave me two $25 gift certificates, and I opted to use them on a Saturday night as an easy solution for dinner. Huge mistake. First problem: TERRIBLE SELECTION. Honestly, the food choices are really lame, and I had a hard time coming up with enough choices to use up the gift cards. The only consolation was that the food was "free" because of the gift cards. Second problem: PAYMENT SITE IS NOT SECURE. After I reluctantly decided on dinner, my order came out to $54, which meant that I would need to provide my credit card information to pay the remaining balance of $4. Before submitting my information, I noticed the site was only http://, not https://, i.e. it wasn't secure. Not wanting to risk it, I decided to call in. Third problem: WEBSITE DOESN'T TAKE GIFT CERTIFICATES. It turns out I would have needed to call in anyway, said the customer service rep, because it's "nearly impossible" to use gift certificates online anyway. Fourth problem: COMPANY'S RECORDS ARE INACCURATE... and apparently that's my problem. The company only has record of my gift certificate being worth $20, not $25. But my official printed gift certificate clearly says $25, and seeing as I didn't purchase it myself, this is the only record I have of its value. The ingenious response: "There's nothing I can do." He didn't even -try- to do anything! He just shut me out! He made the declaration, which essentially called me a liar for suggesting that I had a $25, not $20, gift certificate. Fifth problem: CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! There aren't a lot of details here, except that at no point did the customer service rep or his supervisor even make an effort to figure out where this went wrong. At one point, the supervisor back-peddled enough to say that there's wasn't anything he could do "at the moment," although there was never an alternate solution offered or a single apology given. By the time the conversation was complete, I was furious, and I still had no dinner. And now, unfortunately, I'm stuck with the decision of what to do next: 1) Give the certificates back to my friend, who obviously doesn't hate the company as much as I now do, 2) Fight for my $5 (per gift certificate) so I can go ahead and get a lackluster meal from a company I hate, or 3) Fight for a full refund, so I can get a decent dinner somewhere else.

Eatoutin frequently delivers to our office. This week I forgot to place an order the day before so I frantically called the day of. Not only were they accomodating, they were super efficient, professional and oh-so-friendly. Lunch for 25 arrived on time and everyone was happy. I love these guys!

Not having a car in Austin really sucks. I doubt I would use Eat out In at all if I had a vehicle....maybe if I was dying sick. But that being said, I still think they provide a decent service. It's about $5 per delivery without tip, but I've rarely had any problems with their service. It almost always takes an hour or more for delivery, but since I know that, I take it into consideration when ordering. Thankfully, ordering can take place online and in advance. I almost always order chuys -- Carne Guisada Burrito with deluxe tomatillo sauce and a side of chips/queso. The order usually comes to around $24 with tip. YEah, it's a lot of money for one person, but the luxury of not having to trek 2 miles on foot on a sunday night to chuys makes it worth it.

Use dine on demand. If there is any kind of issue with these people they will not refund your money. Once they have it, they do not care if you are satisfied or not. We ordered county line BBQ and when they finally brought it two hours later, (ice cold) they didn't bring any BBQ sauce. We called back and told them, and they said that that costs extra. Even though I have eaten at county line hundreds of times, and they always serve BBQ sauce with thier BBQ, naturally. I told them we didn't want the food without BBQ sauce and they said there was nothing they would do for us. The person on the other end of the phone was SO rude. Finally they agreed to give us a refund and we put the food outside and they came and got it, but it took forever for this whole debacle to be over. Then I called county line and asked if they charged extra for BBQ sauce and the manager was absolutely horrified that eat out in said they were charging for something that is a free condiment and is the core ingredient. County line offered us a free meal, but this wasn't thier fault. It's not really a big deal that eat out in forgot the sauce, it's the whole having to order BBQ sauce with a BBQ meal. And the horrible manager. 5 stars for county line... 0 for eat out in

I generally only default to Eat Out In during times of real emergencies... you know, the kind where you know you are just NOT going to be leaving your couch. Nah uh. It's expensive, it takes awhile to get delivered, and sometimes it is cold. But if you're not getting up, you're not getting up, and you know you still gotta eat! The upside is that depending on where you live in Austin, they really have a pretty great selection of local eateries available for delivery. In the past, I've had Austin Java, Mother's, Firebowl, Marie Calender's, and others delivered. And what's more, I've never had an issue as far as getting exactly what I ordered... In spite of the price, I find that pretty impressive.

I think Eat Out is a great service. I have used them many, many times over the past few years for business and personal orders and they have always done an excellent job. For my company lunch orders their reps actually help me order, finding menus within my budget and even the proper portions of food - saved me alot of time plus I get huge kudos for having County Line BBQ and California Pizza Kitchen delivered to the office : ) I have had an occasional mess-up here and there but I know no one is 100% perfect all of the time and an occasional slip-up is bound to happen. But they always immediately corrected whatever the mistake was and were always genuinely concerned about it and making it right. I think their customer service goes far beyond what I get at most places so I really appreciate them for this and think it is very important. Overall the majority of my orders have always been accurate, timely and my food always arrives really warm to hot and yummy. I am glad they come out here to Cedar Park now especially after a long work day. I just found out they also do special occasion catering with servers and nice serving dishes - everything (awesome!!) so I am now planning on having them cater my sister-in-law's baby shower in San Antonio - they have a great selection of restaurants down there, too. I am truly a fan and believe life would be a little less convenient without them. Thank you Eat Out In!!!

$40 Bucks to have tasty food delivered to my lazy bones Friday night. Yes, the restaurant is like 3 miles away and I could have walked there and back within the hour and a half it took the delivery driver - money well spent. I like to use Eat Out In when it's cold and I turn into a wimp and want to stay inside. Wish they added Jamba Juice - I'd get a delivery to the office at least 2x a week. Oh to be rich and have people bring me whatever I want. Almost a dream, but made into reality by Eat Out In.

I got hooked on eat out in a few years ago when I received a gc for the service from a friend as a get well gift while I recovering from surgery. It was awesome being able to order food from some of our favorite local restaurants and have it delivered quickly. Fast forward several years to a few months ago when I got another gc from a family member. Hubby and I were really excited about using the gc until we checked the menus online and realized that a lot of the places we wanted to order from are no longer on the service. We have pretty limited options for our zip code now. But we were able to find a couple of places that appealed to us. The real problem has been that our order is always wrong. Always. Either they forget some essential sauce, dressing, topping, wrapper etc, or they just bring the totally wrong order. Sure, it is the restaurant that is making the mistake, but it is the driver that is supposed to check the order. The driver that I am paying a fee and a gratuity. Maybe it is because I always add a nice gratuity when I place the order so they don't feel they have to earn it since I already paid it? I don't know. But I do know that the very generous gift of a gc is now an albatross hanging around our neck. We don't want to let it go to waste, but we don't want to roll the dice and see what eatoutin feels like delivering to us when we order. I have given eatoutin gift certificates in the past to friends and actually feel bad about that now. I won't do that again and will make sure to drop the hint to family members that gift certificates to eatoutin are off my wish list. I literally don't want to use this service even though it is free to me. That should tell you all you need to know.

Update: Looks like they've been updating their website so in turn I gave them one more try; Few weeks later when we've tried to order some food from Chuy's everything went smoothly

I'm going to have to agree that this is not a cheap service. However, if you're tired of pizza and Chinese food, and you're not planning on going out or cooking anything yourself, they have a lot of restaurants you can order from. I've gotten Chuy's, Mothers, and Bombay Grill, among other things. Their delivery folks are friendly. Their website, however, needs a facelift.

eatoutin.com delivers you food from austin restaurants. it's a pretty sweet deal if you're a business traveler and you're craving vegetarian food from mother's (uh, not like i'd know anything about that..) but if i actually lived in austin i'm not sure i'd order from them. they charge you a fee for the food that's a minimum of 5.95, plus a tip on top of that - that's a lot. they also don't offer everything on the menus of restaurants, which was a little annoying because i really wanted dessert. the service was totally polite and on time, though (even a little early), which is great.
