I just stopped at this place and tried a the vanilla cupcake and an iced coffee. They seem to have the general options of mixed coffee drinks in hot and cold versions. They offer soy milk as an alternative to milk and have a few sugar free selections. I am picky about my coffee, it's all about choices! The cupcake was A-MAZE-ING! Probably the best vanilla cupcake I have ever had. This is my favorite flavor and it came out perfectly throughout the cake and the icing. Yummers! They have their every day favorites and then a couple flavors that change every day of the week. Any given day they have around 5-7 flavors to choose from. They also have mini versions so can try all of them if you want. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because it's so small! Very little seating makes for cramped cupcake chomping. They also have a few outdoor tables which I didn't notice at first but the indoor seating arrangement really took me by surprise when I saw how small it was. They did have wifi which is a plus and the decor was nice. I would have enjoyed having some music in the background but maybe that's just me. If they upgraded to a bigger place with more seating I would hand over that last star in a second.

Have gone back twice more and had way better experiences- the owner contacted me and asked how she could make it better, and it made all the difference. That's smart business! The employees were fine with making coffee after dark, they were helpful and polite, and our cupcakes were, of course, as good as they were before. Cupprimo has the market cornered in this neighborhood because there aren't a lot of other cupcake places around. I wish they'd get hang a really big sign that says "Sorry, we ran out of cupcakes! We'll have more fresh ones tomorrow" to put up when they close early, because then at least random people who come later will understand why they close early, because it's makes sense, but probably won't occur to someone who doesn't know.

Found this place through their Groupon deal. Ended up getting cupcakes before Thanksgiving. My whole family really liked them and enjoyed being able to try a variety of flavors. My daughter and I both decided the strawberry was our favorite. The red velvet and peanut butter chocolate were close seconds. This is definitely a shop we'll try again.

My husband thought the whole cupcake craze was overrated. . . until he had a Reese's knock-off cupcake from Cupprimo. Now he is hooked and ENCOURAGES me to stop off and get some cupcakes. That is quite the change of pace since normally he just gives me that look of, "really, cupcakes again???" I tried the Good Morning Sunshine this weekend, which is a citrus/lemon cupcake with lemon filling. Pretty heavenly. Even my husband liked it. It isn't as dense or rich as the Reese's, so it's easier to finish on your own. All in all, this cupcake joint is our favorite in town.

Cupcakes were good. We tried this with the Groupon that was purchased. Orders had to have been reserved for a future date as pickup. We paid $16 for a dozen of these cupcakes ($32 was the normal price), assorted variety based on daily special and baker's choice. We ordered for Tuesday. Longhorn brownie was good. There were a couple others that I liked. I wasn't extremely impressed. For $16 ($32 regular price), we were disappointed. We expected more. But, at least they were decent. It's one of those feelings you get after you eat something that was maybe borderline worth the money. In hindsight, if we really wanted to try this place out, we should've just purchased 1 cupcake out the door before committing to an entire dozen.

Cupprimo is the new cupcakery that recently opened in the Big Lots shopping center at the corner of 183 and Spicewood Springs Road and being in the Big Lots strip mall should tell you everything you need to know about Cupprimo's atmosphere. But, c'mon, we're not here for the atmosphere. The people at Cupprimo are very friendly and helpful. To give them a fair shot, we tried "one of everything". We are givers that way. We had 6 cupcakes total: one vanilla, one chocolate, one coconut, one peanut butter, one cappucino, and one strawberry. These are regular sized cupcakes, nicely decorated and heavily dressed with diabetic coma-inducing yet flavorful frosting. Winners were the strawberry (with a fresh strawb on top) and the chocolate, but all were tasty - though a bit on the dry side. Also, I always considered myself to have quite the sweet tooth and I would venture to say that these have even a little too much frosting for my taste. But they are definitely worth a try. The cupcakes are $2.50 each. I think that's pricey for a regular sized cupcake - even one made from scratch - which is why I am holding my stars at three. Cupprimo is right next to Jollyville Java so if you go in for a latte and for some ungodly reason are not in the mood for a JJ homemade scone, maybe you could traipse next door for a tasty little cupcake. CORRECTION: Sadly, Cupprimo is where Jollyville Java used to be, not next to it. I had hardly noticed. sniff.

Today I bought a half dozen variety to bring into work for a staff member's birthday. They were a big hit. The cupcakes are so colorful and pretty that people oohed and awed when I opened the box. Everyone seemed to like the cupcake they chose - I had to take what was left (being the host) and had the "Brownie" one and it was fine. I'm not sure I can ever get right with a cupcake costing over 2 bucks, but it tasted good. If you need to bring something to impress a group, a small group unless you're Bill Gates and expense is no concern, Cupprimo fits the bill nicely. As a side note, it was hot today (July, in Texas, go figure), so I asked about getting something "iced" to drink. The owner lady said "You can get an iced latte, but we have great iced coffee.", so I went for it and indeed, it was excellent. Just plain ole coffee on ice with a tad of half and half - pure heaven on a hot afternoon.

Updating this review... We picked up some cupcakes this week, and they were all moist & delicious. The new white chocolate raspberry cupcake received rave reviews from the friend who grabbed it from our box before I could stake claim to it. The special flavors are usually the best. These are the flavors that are made just on certain days of the week such as Reeces Rip-Off, Chocolate Elvis (with banana), and Chocolate Raspberry. The only special flavor I don't go for is Carrot - I normally love Carrot Cake, but find the icing here to be overly sweet. Your taste may vary (I know lots of people who love Cupprimo's carrot cupcake icing!) The cupcakes are HUGE. The staff is really friendly. The interior is small but inviting. Don't let the scary appearance of parts of this strip-mall scare you away.

I really enjoyed my visit and the cupcake I had. I tried the sunrise cupcake which was yummy lemon and my boyfriend had the red velvet.. I don't care for red velvet personally but I really enjoyed mine. :)

I really like the cupcakes here. I brought my two little kids in and we each had a different one. The staff was friendly and chatted with my kids and didn't mind the enormous mess they were making. The prices are reasonable for the size of the cakes. I always reccommend this place to others.

This place is amazing. My boyfriend and I consider ourselves cupcake experts because we always try and find the best cupcakes in every town. These are the best in Austin! The cake to icing ratio is perfect (I like a lot of icing), the cake itself has a wonderful texture and flavor; not too dense like some other nearby competitors and amazing flavor options...try the brownie Sunday or strawberry. It will not disappoint. I've tried all the flavors as we have been here at least a dozen times. We've always had a great customer service experience. I cannot believe some of the reviews stating the contrary! Please keep up the great work and we will keep referring others to your business.

Update: After seeing my review, the owner sent me a really nice email offering another taste of the cupcakes. Not sure I will make it over there to try, but kudos for good customer service and making an effort. Will update if I get over there....

I went in at the suggestion of my dentist's wife and shut your mouth because the cupcakes are just stupidly delicious. I usually get angry about cupcake places because they look better than they tast, but not here. They even have tiny ones (which is what I usually get) so you don't feel like a pig after your visit. They coffees are excellent as well. My only wish is that they'd open up in South Austin. . . Go in today!

I had a two great experiences recently at Cupprimo and both times the staff members were courteous and friendly. Is it in an ugly shopping center? Yes. But do you know what 2 other little gems are in that ugly shopping center? None other than Chen's Noodle House and Asia Cafe. I discovered Cupprimo quite by accident one morning. The wife wanted Chen's and I just needed coffee desperately. In fact, I don't think it was even safe for me to drive all the way up there without it! She walked over to Chen's and I walked over to Cupprimo after calculating chances were good that I could get a nice cup of joe there. The dark haired girl with bangs was friendly and more than happy to assist me with my small order. The cupcakes caught my eye immediately, but as I wasn't really hungry yet, I just window shopped. They looked stunning. I can honestly say I have never been to any cupcake shop or trailer. Wanted to try a place since they are so popular. Cupprimo's Heath Bar cupcake sounded amazing! I made a mental note to return the next time I needed dessert after Chen's. And return soon I did. Actually the very next week when I was getting my oil changed nearby. I walked in ready to order the Heath, but they only make certain cupcakes on certain days. I was more than happy with a double fudge and a vanilla. And obviously another large coffee. I concluded the owner was working the counter that day. Blonde lady, very friendly and more than happy talk about her delicious cupcakes! Which is how I learned they have different cupcakes on different days. They can probably give you a schedule! How were the cupcakes? Well large! And yummy! Probably the largest cupcakes I have ever eaten. No they weren't dry, nor did they fall apart. There is mucho tasty and creamy frosting on them that's just enjoyable to either lick off or eat through. Next time I am at Chen's, we will definitely be visiting here for a little dessert. The decor was simple, yet nice and clean. I really liked the family photography on the walls. I think it must have been her and her kids with cupcakes in the multiple blown-up photographs. It's a nice little business and something she is obviously proud of doing!

Eh...it wasn't that great. I was in the shopping center looking for Thor's Hammer (which apparently closed down or moved) and I stumbled upon this place. Naturally, I had to go in since I'm a cupcake connoisseur. I got a Double Chocolate cupcake and my friend ordered a iced latte. Both were disappointing. *sniffles* The cupcake was dry and the icing tasted something like the store-bought stuff. The latte wasn't great either - generic and stale in flavor. Brownie points for cute tables for outdoor seating. They have friendly service and are attentive to guests.

Went into Cupprimo on a recommendation from a friend. The staff are super friendly and really helpful when it came to cupcakes. The cupcakes themselves were absolutely delicious. I tried the two "flavors of the day" which is a great thing to find, as places like Hey Cupcake only offer the same flavors everyday. They were delicious, to say the least. I will say that $2.50 for regular sized cupcakes was a little steep, but the taste was amazing.

My fiance and I went here for the first time last week about a half hour before closing. The employee was super friendly and made our experience a fun one! If we answered a trivia question (that she made up on the whim, any category of our choosing) then we got to take advantage of their "buy one, get one free" promotion. We answered the question correctly, and I got their strawberry cupcake and my fiance got their red velvet cupcake. I also utilized my free mini red velvet cupcake coupon that I got from Yelp. We had high hopes due to the high ratings of this place, but unfortunately we were extremely unimpressed. The cupcakes were dry, and the frosting was hardened. This very well could have been due to the fact that we were purchasing "older" product, since they were about to close, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. We agreed though that if we had paid full price for both cupcakes we would have been put off, but being that we received two for the price of one we were content. I'm not saying it was bad, it just wasn't a fresh, quality product. I definitely understand that this experience could have been a fluke due to everyone else loving this place!

Small place in the neighborhood that is neat and homey. There is a medium sized drink selection and they rotate their cupcake selections as well. The staff are very friendly and know their customers. The atmosphere has more of a bakery than coffee shop vibe, but does have wifi.

It's a good cupcake with some creative choices depending on the day you stop by. Way way better than the hydrogenated Duncan Heinz crap your mom used to make. I have to dock two stars though because of the disturbing canvas photos (purchased on Groupon) that adorn the walls. There's some weird crazy happy 50s style family enjoying cupcakes like it's the bees knees. I mean yeah cupcakes are good but it's not like it's get you as high as ecstasy or heroin, like the photos purport. It's a cake you eat in 10 seconds and the joy lasts about 30 seconds before you realize, damn I'll be paying for that. I'll be back to Cupprimo but next time I'm taking my order to go.

This is your average trendy, over-priced cupcake store, they specialize in miniature and normal size cupcakes. I came here to pick up my friend's favorite mini cupcakes for her birthday. She was really happy with the overall flavor and appearance of the cupcakes. They have different cupcakes for each day of the week, so I recommend going to their website before entering the store. 1 dozen mini cupcakes costs 10 dollars. A normal size cupcake costs roughly 2.50 dollars.

I recently helped with a wedding and Cupprimo's did EXACTLY what the bride asked for! Not only did they make the Mario Cart cupcakes exactly like the bride wanted but they tasted AWESOME!!!!!! Went out of their way to make sure the cupcakes looked and tasted great AND were ready on time at a great price! Thank you so much, Cupprimo! Y'all are Suprimo!!!!! :)))))

So I went back...Thank you Amy for asking me to give it another shot! I'm so glad I did. Amy had the team whip up another batch of the same 4 cupcakes I initially tried and boy were they great! Overall they even looked better than the first time around. I was meeting up with some friends for lunch so I brought them along to share the experience. First up, Choc A Salt. While I loved the flavor the first time (minus the dry cake) this time, they really hit the nail on the head. Cake was moist and the dulce de leche frosting was not too sweet. It really was perfect. Strawberry was next. That same lovely strawberry flavor came through once again with a moist cake. The frosting on that one was the sweetest of all 4. I personally don't like super sweet frosting but others at my table gave it a thumbs up. Cinn-Fully Apple was the third one we tried. This was the one that I was most interested in trying again because the first time around this guy had zero apple in it. Oh man was I impressed. The cake was FULL of tiny apple pieces that had a little bit of firmness to them. Added great texture to an ordinary cupcake. The flavor was great! The frosting was delicious. If you like cinnamon, you'll love this cupcake. And finally, my original favorite, the Lemon Raspberry. It was just as good the second time around. I love the fresh blend of lemon and raspberry flavors and this cupcake does just that without tasting artificially lemony. Its really very good. Overall, the cupcakes were a hit! Cupprimo not only brought me back as a fan but they gained a few more fans along the way. I also have to quickly mention the staff. The two times I went in I was quickly greeted and helped right away. They were friendly and talkative, they didn't just take my order and collect my money. Thats always nice to see. Also, the fact that the owner cares so much about her customers to have me come back and try again to make things right...well thats some great customer service!

This is my go to place for work celebrations, birthdays, and the occasional weekday cheat. I've been here a few times, but this most recent visit yielded my favorite cupcakes yet. The coconut cream is a MUST for anyone who likes coconut. Every bite is loaded with coconut goodness. The cake is infused with coconut cream that makes it especially moist and the toasted coconut is a nice texture contrast and overall flavor enhancement. I finally managed to snag a Choc-a-Salt on this trip (their cupcake flavors rotate daily, check the website). As a salted caramel fanatic, this cupcake was made for me. A must have for anyone who enjoys a chocolatey, yet nuanced flavor to their cupcake. Staff here are always super friendly and helpful. This and the fact that the actual cake portion of the cupcake is moist gives them a leg up on other competitors in the area.

Bleh. I visited Cupprimo on my birthday because the cupcakes do look gorgeous. That is not all a cupcake should be though. The flavors are super creative but overall the cupcakes are dry and awkward. The perfect cupcake is moist and delicious. I decided to give this place another chance when I found a coupon for 10 dollars off a dozen and I took it to a friend's party. While I got a huge assortment and this time was able to form a good opinion, most of those at the party agreed with me and said the cupcakes were too dry. The positioning of some of the key ingredients like in the drunk pineapple was also a bit awkward. Probably won't go back, just because the cupcakes aren't really worth paying 3 dollars each when the desserts at Ann's are so much better. Edit: So I'm updating my review. When Amy saw that I was not happy with the original batch of cupcakes she was super sweet and reached out to me and asked if I would like to try the mini cupcakes. I accepted the offer and was able to pick up a whole new assortment of mini goodies. I must admit I really liked the smaller cupcakes and think I will definitely go back for those. They are flavorful and moist. I especially loved the S'more, Reeses, and Razzle Dazzle flavors, delicious and not overwhelmingly sweet. I had Hey Cupcake the same day and I'll admit I really like Cupprimo's approach to flavors more. They have many more and they're a lot nicer looking.

The first time I came here I had a blue velvet cupcake and it was divine, it was a rich dark blue and super moist and delicious. I remember I went on a Monday so I went after work today because I was craving one. No one makes blue velvet and this place does that's what makes it unique. So I called ahead of time and made sure they had plenty available she told me they had a lot in both the regular and mini size. When I got there they had no blue velvet in the mini size ok fine no big deal. So I was gonna get some larger cupcakes. Well I stood there for 5 minutes without being acknowledged by the cashier at all, like not even a hi. She had a "I hate my life and job look on her face while she was making another customers coffee." I left. I can't stand when an employee just doesn't even care to say hi. You know I walked in, you looked directly at me and ignored me. You are never too busy to at least say hi, your job is not that hard and if you don't like your job then quit. Don't make the customers suffer. The cupcakes seemed to portray her attitude as they were over cooked, seriously cracked all on top and a sickly green color not blue at all. I think I will stick to Gigi 's or Be My Cupcake. At least they interact with me.

Soo good, so sooo good! Me and the boyfriend were craving cupcakes at 8:30 one night and made it in time to pick up the BEST cupcakes we've ever had!! We got 4! Tonight we had the salty chocolate and the pina colada. The cake was super moist and the frosting was not too overbearing like some other places. It was awesome that they are open late, so we could get a late night fix. The girl working was super nice and informative about the flavors and let us know not to refrigerate them to so they don't dry out. If you don't try them you're really missing out!

As many times as I have, admittedly, been to this place ... I haven't once had a cupcake that I didn't find absolutely delicious. Seriously the best cupcake I've ever had. I think the texture of the cupcake is spot on. I prefer a "drier" (though it's really not dry) cupcake, as I hate it when it's too soft which makes a cupcake hard to eat without getting it all over yourself. Perfect little tasty morsels. I've never been able to just drive by this place. Whenever I'm near it, I have to stop. Kudos to the cupprimo bakers. You've nailed the cupcake. By the way ... my husband just shook his head in agreement. (And he's a very talented chef.)

I wish they were in a different location. Or would open a second location. They are far away from my neighborhood and not in a very nice shopping center. But, pretty much every time I am in the area I will stop by. The gluten free cup cakes are great.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The owner agreed to provide cupcakes for our wedding last May. The Cup cakes came out looking & tasting perfect and for a very reasonable price. If you are thinking about using cupcakes in your wedding you should check this place out. If you just want a treat you should check this place out. Its a local business with an owner that cares about the level of service she provides to her customer, and living up to her word. Final note: In my opinion this place has the best treats you can buy in the Austin area. It won't be long before this place is talked about in the same breath as other mainstays of the Austin area like the Salt Lick, Franklins, and Quacks....

I was out and about running errands and I wanted to check this place out to see if it was a place I would bring my Coffee meet-up group and it is very small and can not accommodate more than just a few people. While I was talking to the Owner - I had mentioned my Coffee meet up to her and she said that she knows about meet up and has given meet up groups discounts when they have come in. She advised that it is not a good idea to bring them in on Friday or Saturday because they are really busy and that they are closed on Sundays - so the best time would be Monday through Thursday. This place is good for your Knitting and/or Book Club to go to but not a large group that usually has 12 to 14 people per event. Owner is very nice and has alot of knowledge about each one of the cupcakes and helps you decide which one you want and will like. I am not sure whether or not they have Vegan cupcakes or not - even though I am not a Vegan - I am pretty sure there is alot of them on Yelp. I may return if I have a craving for a cupcake - oh by the way - their Neapolitan is really good.

Ever had a cupcake for breakfast? Ever had a mini-cupcake for breakfast? Ever had 6 mini-cupcakes dispersed throughout breafast-ish hours? Because I did. And if cupcakes bring you as much happiness as they do me, and a happiness-making song comes on the radio while you're simultaneously driving, your risk of cupcake-induced wreck increases by 36%. I was running errands in the area when I remembered Cupprimo. Lackluster first experience aside, I had been meaning to give them another try. Breakfast of champions varies person to person, but cupcakes are at the top of my list. I needed sugar/fuel if I was going to make it after a ridiculously late night. In order to make a balanced update, I took the $5 offer for 6 mini-cupcakes instead of a single large one. What a good investment. I understand minis bake differently, but these little cuties were good and hopefully faithful adaptations of their larger counterparts. They became especially delectable the longer they sat in the car between stops. In favorites order: red velvet, brownie, carrot, strawberry (plus two were repeats equals 6). Gooey, moist, sprinkled with love and Easter Bunnies and Tooth Fairies and all the wholesomeness of youth. Delicious in overly sweet bite-size doses. Brilliant.

I'm out of the loop on the whole "cupcakes are upscale & trendy" thing that's been happening lately (I'm more of a salty/fried snacker than a sweet tooth), and I don't make it downtown very often these days, so I've missed the trailer place and that other one. However, I was in the Cupprimo area on the northside this morning and wanted a place where I could have a quiet cup of coffee while accessing some free wi-fi. Score! I had the place mostly to myself between 9:30 and noon on a Wednesday morning, perfect for getting some work done. Don't hate me, but I don't. Really. Like. Frosting. At Cupprimo, that's no problem, as they offer a whole assortment of "naked" cupcakes for those who don't wanna blow their calorie counts for the day. I tried the Strawberry, a bright pink, fluffy, moist cake with little berry treasures hidden throughout - delish! I think if I'm in the mood for a more decadent nosh next time, I'll try the Black Forest, which has a moderate amount of two kinds of frosting with cherry pie filling on top and in the center. My regular, drip coffee (with free refills) plus cupcake set me back $3.68, not too outrageous for a non-fastfood breakfast in an independent, local biz. From the menu, it looks like most of the single lattes & cappuccinos are under 3 bucks, with no beverages (including doubles/triples and smoothies) over $4.25. Both owners (two entrepreneurial moms, one of whom who ran her own cupcake catering biz before this, the other of whom who ran her own coffee shop in the Midwest) were behind the bar this morning. Apparently, Cupprimo does a brisk pastry catering business, and I saw/heard several orders come in while I lurked over my laptop in the corner. They offer 4 flavors every day, with a rotating menu for the rest of the 18 flavors. You can get full-sized cupcakes, as well as tiny ones. In the fall, they are also launching a line of Texas Longhorn-themed cupcakes with colors & flavors to compliment gameday festivities. I think I've found my new office-away-from-home for weekday mornings. It's local, it's on my side of town (aka Chain/Franchise Purgatory), and it's woman-owned & operated. Cool!

I wish I could add more stars to my original review but I still wasn't impressed the second time around. The owner was kind enough to send me a coupon for free cupcakes & I was looking forward to changing my mind. Sadly, though, the second round of cupcakes was the same as before...dry. The frosting was so dried out on all 6 cupcakes that it was crunchy. The cake also was not moist. The flavor of red velvet cupcake was off. I was disappointed. We ended up giving away the 5 of the 6 cupcakes we got. I want to like this place. The customer service was great. But I don't think we'll be back.

Friendly staff, quick service. Those points aside, I'll come back for a latte and cupcake just for the latte and cake. The coffee beats the foam off a popular Seattle shop, and cupcakes, oh the cupcakes! Delicious!!!

First time trying this place. Picked up a dozen various flavors cupcakes to share with family. WOW, best tasting cupcakes in Austin and Houston. All the flavors were good, but I liked the peanut butter the best. The family agreed Cupprimo is better than Hey Cupcake!, our ex-favor.

It was a bad experience. We had a Groupon and the T&C stated to call and place an order 24 hours in advance which we did. When we showed up they had "lost" our order under my wifes name, Kristen. They refused to provide the cupcakes and were really just rude and dismissive. I went outside and called my wife on the phone. She gave me the name of the person she spoke with. I went back inside and told them that she had spoken with Amy. Miraculously there was an order under Christine. Why could they not have just read it the first time and not been rude? Business owners should know that to treat your customers as if they are priviledged to be able to spend their money on you product had better have a really good product. ...and the cupcakes were BAD. We did not even get through half and ended up throwing most away. Go to Hey Cupcake

Now THIS is how you do cupcakes! Gluten free available, in multiple flavors with advance notice. Inventive flavors. She can even do off-menu flavors with advance notice if you ask -- she managed to work up a cupcake reminiscent of Boston Creme Pie for me for a birthday. Oh, speaking of "she", the owner is just lovely. She'll bend over backwards to make you the best, most delicious cupcakes. Love this place and I go out of my way to use them for my cupcake needs.

We ordered the cupcake minis on June 1st to take to my daughter's class for her 5th birthday. We had never been to Cupprimo before. We got vanilla, strawberry and double chocolate. They were AMAZING! Huge hit! We won't be buying cupcakes from anywhere else ever again! Thank you for the perfect way to celebrate an awesome little girl's special day! We also got a cherry limeade cupcake for us while we were there and it was fantastic. I was just bummed that I couldn't try them all! Also, the strawberry cupcake was so great. REAL strawberries in the batter and in the frosting (I know, that shouldn't be shocking, but it is). I thought the kids would be fighting over the chocolate. Nope! Everyone wanted strawberry!

The cupcakes from Cupprimo were the star of our reception. Amy was very helpful through the entire process, from helping us pick out the "final flavors" to assisting us figure out our final numbers based on our RSVPs. The cupcakes were beautiful and made a great table centerpiece; everyone took pictures before "the grab." Thanks to all of the Cupprimo staff for making our reception shine.

Great place if you're in the mood for cupcakes & coffee. I tried the Neapolitan cupcake...yummy! The environment is great & the staff is friendly.

I love LOVE the cupcakes here! I think one's happiness with the cupcakes partly depends on what type of cake you like. Personally, I prefer cake that is not too dense, not super moist, and not kept cold. I know others have complained that these cupcakes are too dry, but I think they're just right. I think knocking Cupprimo for dry cupcakes would be like me knocking The icing is piled high, but the cake part is also large. I like to take the paper off, cut the cake part into pieces, and redistribute the icing among them. I end up with a nice cake-to-icing ratio, and while the icing is sweet, it's not so sickly sweet as to make me feel ill. I think they must use liqueurs in some of their icings (like the Double Chocolate), and combined with their unique flavors and pretty decorations, Cupprimo stands out. I have loved almost all flavors I've tried, especially the Margarita and Lemon Berry. The only one I didn't love was a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cupcake I had recently. It didn't taste bad, but it didn't have a whole lot of flavor. I think it's a new creation though, so I would be willing to try it again. That's the thing about Cupprimo - they keep working at it. I've treated my office to Cupprimo twice, and each time everyone has raved about the cupcakes. One intern said it changed her life (when it comes to cupcakes). I also did a special order of a dozen cupcakes a couple of years ago for my niece's birthday. She wanted mint chocolate cupcakes. I requested that Cupprimo put mint flavoring in the icing, which they did, and the cupcakes (chocolate with green-colored mint-flavored icing) were spot-on. [Edited: Initially I stated that the coffee drinks weren't always fantastic, but since then my subsequent Cupprimo coffees have been excellent. Maybe they did change something? Maybe I just happened to get some bad apples? Whatever the reason, I'm happy now!] I like to stay, sit at one of the tables, and read while I eat my cupcake. It's a pleasant environment.

My cousin loves this place and said that I really had to try it. I must say that I was surprised. Cupcakes and coffee at 9pm!!!! MMM so filling. I decided to go with the mini cupcakes so I could try a few and still not be stuffed. Well I tried the pumpkin chocolate chip, strawberry and the chocolate. They were all very good and really rich. The only thing I disliked was the frosting on the top was hard and very sharp. I tried to bite down and the chocolate one actually hurt. I will probably be back when I come to visit my cousins but won't be making any special trips.

All I've tried here is the cupcakes. I really wanted to like them, I really did. However the cupcakes are dry. I've tried several flavors and dryness seems to be a universal issue. Though I live in the area I drive to Hey Cupcake rather than stopping here.

I LOVE Cupprimo Cupcakes! Along with my office staff, customers and family! The staff is always great when I place an order or come in. The owner Amy is so wonderful, and I love how this is a family business (the decor/pictures are so much fun and say everything about the atmosphere) Very family friendly. The cupcakes are always yummy, fresh, and they are continually coming up with new flavors to try. Every time I visit my family in Houston I take a dozen of assorted minis and they LOVE them. Definitely recommend Cupprimo for a sweet daytime treat! :)

Short version: not really a coffee shop. Go to Coffee Bean or Starbucks up the road to get work done if that's your thing. Through a conversation here on Yelp, I found out the owner doesn't want people to set up shop on their laptops. -- Original 4-star review -- I'm reviewing this primarily as a coffee shop as its exceedingly rare for me to have cupcakes. Pros: * Coffee is so far good * Cupcake I had was amazing. One of the best deserts I've had in recent memory Cons: * Nothing to eat besides cupcakes. You're thinking bakery and you expect maybe some bagels or scones or something? Nope. * Very small. So far its been uncrowded but this place is a little out of the way so I'm hesitant to gamble on its activity level. * Tables are nice, but not very human sized and are uncomfortable to work on for an average-sized person. Service is mixed. The woman who I'm guessing is the owner is a little strained. I get the sense that she wants to run the business, not do customer service. The other woman who works there is great. Update 1: just got the following message: "Who do you guess is the owner? Hair description will tell... 6 peeps work up front. The tables are huge.. oversize in fact?????" My response: Yes -- its uncomfortable to use a laptop on tables that size. If you want people to spend time there and get work done, I recommend changing them.

You have got to try the Chai Tea!!! You will never be able to stomach the tea at the large chains again! Tell them only a little foam, or you might not get enough tea. You can get it iced as well. I go in at least once a week for the chai tea and sometimes grab a small mini cupcake. I like the strawberry ones. Also, I see the have gluten free ones, but have never tried them. They also have icing free "naked" cupcakes if you want it a bit less sweet. They put the perfect amount of icing, so you aren't sick at the end of the cupcake. The pictures of her family are adorable and the staff is always friendly. Make sure to grab a punch card and fill it up for a free drink or cupcake. I just got my first free one last week. :)

Very sweet people. I came one time and got mini cupcakes just to sample. I liked the cherry and lime one the best. I decided to come back and get 4 regular size cupcakes and this time I'm not impressed. The cupcake was thick and hard to swallow. I prefer light, fluffy, and moist. It was just so much thickness and flavor, I couldn't enjoy. I ate half of it. There's no way I can eat them all, so I'll probably save them for tomorrow for my staff. Hopefully they enjoy. All in all, it wasn't that bad. Would I go back? Ehh...maybe.

This place is very nice. Customer service here is beyond great. Robin was so helpful and very friendly. We came at the wrong time of the night most of the favors were sold out. We did get the last blue velvet cupcake. The carrot cake cupcake was okay. Would've liked more carrot flavor. My favorite was the lemonizer cupcake. It was like a pop of lemon. I would definitely recommend this place. Thanks Robin.

I love love love this place! The girls here have an awesome energy and personality. Their cupcakes are so good! I'm not really a sweets person, but I can't stay away from cupprimo mini cupcakes! The mini cupcakes are the perfect amount of sweet and you get to try different flavors. Their drinks are delicious as well! I really enjoy their Green Tea Latte, it's very yummy!

Lady sitting in your car in the parking lot with the engine running, in your work clothes on a Wednesday afternoon, inhaling the cupcake you just bought - I feel ya. Maybe you just had a tough meeting and had to get away from the office to clear your head. Maybe you had an interview you are worried you bombed. Maybe you were frustrated by the yelp Austin Talk threads. But we parked at the same time. And by the time I had checked in and was ready to step out of my car, you already were getting back into yours with your prize. You knew what you wanted, and you went for it. Respect. And now we know why those single cupcake containers are sized to fit in your cupholder... I tried for the first time a "Wednesday" cupcake, the "Chocolate A Salt": chocolate cake filled with caramel, topped with caramel buttercream, ganache and "secret salty mix". It hits on all cylinders for me. I do get kind of bored with the basic one-note cakes: Vanilla, strawberry, etc., so I find their multi-dimensional rotating flavors-of-the-day to be great. My wife, OTOH (and bless her heart, is gluten-free) loves the strawberry here. So I'll say it appears this place covers all the bases. They've done a better job over the last few months with gluten free availability. They have 2-3 different GF flavors each time I go, whereas maybe a year ago, they were always out when we stopped by. Amy's cool and always fun to chat with. And like other folks have said, they always have unfrosted cupcakes, in case you are the kind of person that finds the usual frosting is too much for you (Al Qaeda). Or maybe you wanted a different flavor of frosting. Either way, they gotcha covered. Always carry the strawberry GF for my wife, and we might talk about a 5th star. Yesterday's GF offerings were all boring variations of brown, so that would help with that. ;)

I really wished Yelp did half stars because I'd give them 2 1/2. Since I happened to be somewhat in the area and saw that they had been on Cupcake Wars, I figured I'd go out of my way to stop by for a gluten free cupcake. Had I known they had not won Cupcake Wars, perhaps I'd cut them a bit more slack. I base all of my reviews of whether or not 1) I'd return and order the same thing again and 2) can I make this better myself? When the answer is no to both, I'm usually mad at myself for even bothering. The gluten free cupcake I had (chocolate w/ peanut butter frosting & chocolate drizzle) looked appealing and smelled good but came up short. The cake was dense but somehow dry at the same time. I did really like the frosting. It not only tasted peanut buttery but wasn't overly sweet and was very smooth. It was the saving grace and gave the cake portion some moisture so I could finish it. The store seemed pleasant. The two girls seemed nice and they were quick to serve me. Others in the cafe looked like they were enjoying their coffee beverages and glutenous delights. Perhaps their regular cupcakes really steal the show but as far as their gluten free products are concerned, I won't be back

Cupprimo was an excellent choice for my wedding! They were affordable, staff was very helpful and knowledgeable every step of the way! We picked vanilla, lemon pistachio, and blue velvet which they made purple for us! The cupcakes were made fresh that morning and the guests loved all of them!

Cupprimo would be ok and probably get 3 stars from me if it was standing alone... the real problem for them is that you can go to Ann's 2 doors down and have cake that's just light years better....and probably because Ann's has been around for years. I've had the blue velvet, the triple chocolate and a margarita cupcake on 3 separate occasions... Each was just kinda meh to me. The blue velvet lacked flavor, the triple chocolate had a horrible sugar only mustache on top and seemed undercooked and over-vegetable shortened and the margarita was just on par with both and just a swing and a miss. "Meh, I've experienced better," aka what Yelp says when you enter 2 stars in is spot on. Ann's on the other hand is a home run... I've worked my way through the case there and have never had a bad piece of cake or cupcake. In a world where you have to take a break from a diet sometime... Ann's is the spot to waste those calories... not Cupprimo. Where this place succeeds is their cool office-y back room where you can have mini meetings with people... Ann's basically only has places to sit outside.

It's an OK cupcake. It's definitely not great, but not horrible. It's better than a grocery store cupcake, but for $3 each, they better be! The cake was dense and not terribly dry, but it was also not very moist. The buttercream frosting was pretty awful, though. :( The service was the real kicker. The guy who waited on me was clueless. I asked him about the frosting and he said it was buttercream...like that's helpful. Buttercream ranges from perfectly light and fluffy to thick and tasteless paste depending on the bakery. Buttercream used to mean something special. And I do know how to make it. I make a pretty divine version myself. Next, he just kind of flakes out and walks away. So, I place my order with the girl at the counter. She "offers" me a sample, but then walks away and asks the clueless guy to help me. I know that I won't get a sample from clueless guy, so I place my very simple order, and he just kind of looks at me, then asks the girl what I want. Really?! I do not have a speech impediment. So, I go to the case and point. He got it, then. So...overall, not impressed with this place...which is unfortunate. I have yet to find a really good cupcake place in North Austin. Cupprimo is a huge cupcake fail. :(

Unlike most cupcakes, the real treat is hidden beneath the icing. These cupcakes are good. Not the best ever, but really good. What makes them unique is the filling that's just below the icing. It's add a moistness to the cupcakes that takes the pressure off of the icing to really flavor the cupcakes. It's a welcome enhancement that should be in all cupcakes.

What a treat! I had the "Lemony Snicket" cupcake, a three layered cupcake with lemon, gingerbread, and buttery icing. You can tell this place uses fresh, quality ingredients. I'll definitely be back to try another!

Absolutely delicious cupcakes. Kids love the baby thin mint cookie cupcakes. Friendly, good lattes. Clean even 15 minutes before closing on a Saturday night. A dozen baby cupcakes is definitely the way to go.

While doing a drive-by on a nearby restaurant we passed Cupprimo. My husband said, "Hey, cupcakes! Dessert?" Me, trying to be good, "No, we shouldn't." Me, two minutes later, before we made it out of the parking lot, "We should go there." You see, I am forever on a quest to find good cupcakes. Plus I am a weakling who has no willpower. The place itself is precious. Very cozy. More like a cared for and loved cafe than a sterile, boring business. There were two ladies working the evening we stopped by, both incredibly nice and funny. There was a good variety to choose from. They have normal-size cupcakes as well as minis, which is a fantastic idea, btw. I noticed a couple of unfrosted cupcakes in the case, which is also a fantastic idea. I chose a big lemon blueberry, complete with a blueberry , and three minis (hello, three minis is a not even a whole cupcake so really I was being good): vanilla, strawberry, and blue velvet. My husband got a big chocolate and a big blue velvet (I say 'big' but I mean the average size cupcakes). He also got a lemon blueberry. We refrained from eating our cupcakes until we got home after dinner...but they were gone soon enough. All of them were very, very good. Not boxy, like other places I've tried. And the icing wasn't out of control, also unlike other places I've tried. While this little place is out of the way from where we live, we will for sure make it a point to stop by again. They are different with their favors, they taste fresh as opposed to box-made, there prices were decent (can't remember how much we payed, but I remember thinking that it was a reasonable price), they employees we encountered were wonderful, and the place has a great vibe. They serve coffee (and tea, maybe?), btw. Definitely recommend them!

Not only are the cupcakes insanely delicious but the staff could not have been nicer or more willing to explain the intricate flavors in each cupcake! I went in looking for their flavor of the day (at 6pm) and unfortunately they were out (which I should have expected...cherry red velvet!!! Of course it was out) but I still walked out with two regular size cupcakes and a dozen mini's haha yummy yummy!!!

I found this place while hunting for cupcakes to cater my baby shower and was in love at first bite. We ordered 200 mini cupcakes for my baby shower, in custom colors/design. I needed some "special" cupcakes for my son's birthday, so when I mentioned my dilemma to a co-worker, she recommended Cupprimo. I'm so glad I decided to try them out! They were SO beautiful and absolutely delicious! My family LOVED them. Some of the BEST cupcakes we've ever tasted. We tried the Reese's Ripoff (the birthday boy's favorite), the red velvet, the strawberry, the coconut cream pie, and my favorite - the Choco Salt - it was amazing! The combination of the chocolate with the salt in it is sooooooo good! The service was exceptional - the young lady was very helpful and politely explained all the flavors to me to help me decide which flavors to pick. I will definitely be back again for my next special occasion.

Longhorn Brownie has to be the best cupcake ever. Hook Em. The large size cupcakes are a bit large for me but the minis are the perfect size for a light dessert. In the evening the selection is less but they often have specials.

10 minutes until closing time a friend and I wandered into Cupprimo after a great supper. We were in the mood for coffee and gossiping. But, DOH! the girl had just cleaned up the coffee stuff. However, we found ourselves in front of a counter of cup cakes. Including a special display case of gluten-free cupcakes. We picked up a Snickerdoodle with cream cheese frosting and a chocolate with strawberry frosting. The girl only charged us for 1 cupcake to make up for the coffee shortage. We then wandered around the deserted shopping strip Cupprimo is located. We shared the cupcakes as we walked and they were excellent! Moist, tasty, a nice dollop of icing on top. Double Bonus to Cupprimo, they donate the daily leftover cupcakes to organizations that will use the food.

Great cupcakes and even better customer service. I was greeted with friendly smiling faces and very informative staff working the counter. I got some mini's today and I will be back for more. Strawberry was by far the best. Need to come on Saturday and get some carrot cake!

Delicious cupcakes and a great business! My favorite flavor is also the blue velvet. Never dry, great frosting, and unique flavors, I think Cupprimo makes some of the best cupcakes in Austin. The owner runs a great business and is very supportive of local schools and teachers. We appreciate all that she does when we need cupcakes for school events or staff recognitions.

I love that you can get mini-cupcakes! I ordered 3 dozen for an event and people were happy to try multiple vs. committing to a big-ole cupcake that the "other" folks in town. They change flavors on different days, so call ahead if you have a favorite. The espresso isn't "Coffee-shop" quality - but, it's a cupcake place... I'm a coffee snob so I am not rating it based on that! Management and staff are ultra friendly and remember their regulars. I visited with a friend who went ALOT, and they knew what she wanted already.

I love Cupprimo. Their cupcakes are the best in Austin. Perfect texture, sweet fluffy frosting with lovely toppings. Oh, did I say how fresh they are? I come in at various times, and has never been disappointed. Portion is generous, maybe too much so, but they do have mini cupcakes which are perfect size to satisfy your sugar craves. Love the coffee as well. Goes fantastically well with the cupcake of your choice. Always friendly and helpful staffs. You'll love it here!

This is my favorite cupcake place in Austin (way way way better than Hey Cupcake!, and slightly better than Sugar Mama's). The cake is slightly more dense (less airy) than other cupcakes, which I enjoy, and the always have the perfect amount a frosting. Avoid the red velvet, which is unfortunate. I also do not care for the blue velvet. The vanilla is amazing as is the chocolate peanut butter. The service has always been amazing. They have often given me free minis to taste flavors and will sometimes give you 6 for the price of 4. I highly recommend it.

This place is 5 minutes from work, and I have several offsite meetings each week, so I was really hoping that this would be a new place to add to my meeting location reservoir. Unfortunately, the cupcakes were way-way-WAY too sugary sweet for me. (I will say that the lemon pistachio cupcake wasn't as bad.) There are so many great cupcake shops in Austin that I probably won't be back here!

Do you enjoy cupcakes? If you answered yes please go here immediately. Cupprimo has some of the nicest employees and the worlds greatest cupcakes. My personal favorite cupcake is the Choc A Salt. It's a blend of chocolate, caramel and a dash of salt. Any cupcake they bake is amazing. Give this place a try. Also if you follow them on Facebook they announce happy hours and you can get some excellent deals on these fantastic cupcakes!

We recently had a little shindig and I bought some cupcakes from Cupprimo to help celebrate a birthday. Some other friends of brought in cupcakes from 'Hey Cupcake' and let me tell you... Side by side, Cupprimo completely blows the doors off Hey Cupcake. Other reasons for 5 stars. They didn't stock stevia when I first started dropping by but they must listen to their customers because it's available now. The owner also seems to be non-GMO, organic friendly with what she's dishing out to customers. Very happy about that and we'll go out of our way to get coffee and cupcakes here.

I am so happy I gave this little cupcakery another chance! The last time I came it was right before closing, so I did not get an authentic experience of what this little place was capable of. This time round, I came 4pm-ish, and it was a totally different story! I got a 12-mini cupcake sampler of the 6 flavors they had, which I shared with friends later that night. Everyone loved their respective cupcakes and my two personal favs were the red and the blue velvets! The icing on each went so well w/the cake...just yumminess all the way around! I also had another go at their gluten-free option and had the chocolate peanut butter. I am usually not a fan of the pb/Choc flavor combo, but two of the customers talked me into giving this cupcake a try. I am glad I did. Seriously, you would not know this thing is GF! And the peanut butter icing cap was so ridiculously good! It had some chocolate drizzle on it as well that made it seem like lil Choc-flavor bombs were going off in every peanut buttery bite! I also had a cup of their drip coffee w/a shot of espresso and this did not disappoint either! Surprisingly good coffee and espresso, and very inexpensive for the quality. I also LOVE that they offer a Truvia sweetner option! It is so rare to find a healthy alternative to the ubiquitous blue, pink, and yellow sweetner rainbow offerings at almost every other coffee spot. On top of everything else, the guy that helped me with my cupcakes and the girl that did my coffee were so nice, it just rounded out the experience nicely. It usually takes a lot to disway me from my first impression, but my second impression here has made me a fan!

Yay, cupcakes! Joe C turned me on to this place last night after the Camino Real UYE. I needed just a little sugar fix, and Joe told me that these cupcakes are excellent. I spied a dried banana chip on top of an inviting cupcake, and said, "You will be mine!" It turns out that this was called, "Chocolate Elvis" because of the peanut butter and banana combo, and NOT because it'll blow you up to 350 lbs in your white sequined jumpsuit. Good to know. They also offer gluten-free varieties, which I could really give a shit about, but that seems to be important to about 98% of my Yelping buddies, so that must be a good thing. They have a great variety of flavors, including Red Velvet AND Blue Velvet. I'll come back to try a Blue Velvet at some point; being both a fan of Bobby Vinton and David Lynch. So kudos to this little cupcakery!

These cupcakes are awesome. They taste so fresh. My favorite is the sundae cupcake (chocolate with cream cheese frosting). Today I tried the blue velvet & it is divine. The cupcakes could be moister but the quality and taste is there.

I'm sorry to say I thought the cupcakes were dry! I tried the Black and White and the Primo Vanilla. I can tell they use vanilla bean in their frosting, so they get props for that, but I won't be going back. The woman behind the counter was friendly, but I've just had better cupcakes. The plus side is that the cupcakes are only $2.75 and they're pretty big

I came here because its very close to work and I had a major hankerin' for a cupcake. The location is kinda strange, but not hard to find. I went in, looked at the cupcakes and they seemed to look pretty good. The girl behind the counter was either just over her day or just lacking in personality. I got one of each and took them back to work. The cupcakes are large in height and they def need a fork or you can just eat them when no one is looking. White chocolate raspberry was good. The icing is a little too sweet for me and a little hard. I like my icings to almost melt in my mouth. Chocolate and chocolate was tasty. The rest were eaten by my coworkers. They seemed to like them, but nothing really stood out for me on these. I will more than likely come back. They were good, but there is some stiff competition around town!

I'm always a little torn with a place like this. They make good cupcakes and they make amazing cupcakes. I fell in love with their lemon cupcake months ago and it is a cupcake that I find myself craving. It ignited my love for citrus flavored cakes. So much that I find myself no longer wanting the more decedent flavors, like chocolate. I was hoping for the same amazing flavor in my strawberry cupcake but I was a bit disappointed. I cannot really tell why I didn't like it as much, but if I had to guess it would be that it wasn't as bright as the lemon. I can taste the strawberry, but not enough. Sometimes I'll get an actual piece of strawberry and the flavor will be there, but most of the time it is just a mediocre cupcake. Something with the frosting also leaves me wanting. I shouldn't be too surprised, since a cupcake made with real fruit is going to change depending on the fruit. Maybe I'll try another strawberry cupcake when they are actually in season.

  • Kim N.

They are the worst cupcakes...I bought a groupon and I want my $ back. We have to call 24 hrs in advance to order them and you can not pick and choose the flavors that you want. They gave the old cupcakes and I can tell the icings were dried and cracked. The cupcakes were hard and dense. So disappointed. Will never buy at this place again. Bad business practices....Dont deserve one star rating here.

I just used Cupprimo to cater the cupcakes for a big birthday party and they were great! The cupcakes were delicious! (Margarita and Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt) My guests were really impressed and the chocolate ones went very quickly. We ordered all mini cupcakes which were really easy to display and eat. I'd recommend Cupprio for your next big event! :)

now I did not try the coffee. But for the quality of the cupcakes it was sub par for a shop like this. Cake was bland and would have been better from a mix. The Girls behind the counter where unfriendly and they mis charged me twice. The first time to much and the second to little. Then I was given looks for trying to pay the correct amount. Should have just waited to be closer to a Hey cupcake. Don't know what the rest of these reviews are about. to answer the owners comment. She must have taken offense to a review. boo hoo. awkward....for a shop like what? ( a shop that sells cupcakes) and what exactly did you try? (strawberry, best thing about it was the fresh strawberry on top. Raspberry chocolate, cake was bland and as stated could have been better from a mix.Raspberry filling tasted like basic cheap cisco or northland crap. Black and White, boring and uninspired especially the icing. Something vanilla, took one bite and stopped. Did not even try the Red velvet. Figured enough was enough and tossed them out). Today's case rocked out...and we sold out also. (crack dealers sell out and so does Mcdonalds that does not mean any of the above is quality.) The staff does not remember you being in... (Well that does not surprise me. They were to busy gossiping to say anything to me when I walked in, same with the next person that came in while I was there.) Yeah I posted it here so even if she removes her comment you all can have the pleasure.

We purchased one dozen variety. The good - icing The bad - the cake is too floury like a bread. It is also a tad dry. I would not buy cupcakes there again. Cupcakes are expensive and there are many other cupcake places to try.

What a disappointment! I was so excited to order a tray of the mini's for a birthday party I was hosting this past Sunday. I knew they had been on Cupcake Wars and even though they didn't win I just knew they still had to have a superior cupcake. I was wrong. I ordered four each of six flavors and didn't like any. No one at the party said anything but all the leftover cupcakes said it all. They were dry, the icing nondescript, even the little decorations were unimpressive. My initial review may have sounded as though I was putting a good word in for another bakery. That was not the case. This was my first visit to a "cupcakery" and I live in the Leander area so this was a convenient location for the upscale cupcakes I was expecting.

Cupcakes we good and they have a pretty good selection. Our service was terrible the lady was rude and very unpleasant!!!!!!!! If the staff wasn't so bad I'd probably give them another star!

I've had cupcakes at cupprimo a couple of times and have been really impressed. I've only had the mini ones, but they are super moist, with the perfect amount of icing and sweet but not crazy sweet. I picked up an assortment today for a co-worker and snuck one out for myself. I picked the most regular looking one and was wowed by the flavor. It had a raspberry filling (i normally hate filled cakes) with cream cheese topping. wowsa. Plus the prices are reasonable.

So my date shows up the other night with a cupcake in hand (yes, he's taken, and no, he doesn't have brother) from this lil shop on Spicewood Springs. It came in its own cute little see-thru container, showcasing it's glory. Adorable. I have actually tasted these treats before since we would have them by the dozen for everyone's birthday at my old workplace. All sorts of cool flavors and the presentation of each is really well done. Recommend you can half em all and try more than one! This indivdual treat again pleased my palette so I thought I'd give them a shout out. It was a moist, rich chocolate cupcake with carmel inside (surprise! awesome.), vanilla icing, and Heath pieces and caramel on top. Vanilla icing was pretty typical (too sweet for me) but consistency was nice and thick, and really, the highlight was the cupcake. YUM!

I purchased a Groupon for a dozen cupcakes for a party this past weekend and was really disappointed. First, I had to call several times during their business hours to place an order and left three messages before I actually reached someone. (I reached them on my fourth call....no one ever called me back.) The Groupon specified "bakers choice" and we got mix of six different cupcakes. All of them were beautiful; however, they were really dry. The icing was also hard on top and crumbled when you took a bite. We had a couple of leftovers and when I tried to give them to my kids for a treat the next day, they didn't even want them. The one flavor that wasn't super dry was undercooked and gooey. The only good thing I can say is that at least I got them for half the normal price. I'm giving two stars because they were pretty but I won't be going back.

The cupcake was insanely delicious with an improbable name. It was made from brownie batter and had thick frosting and candy bar pieces on top. I highly recommend this place.

Sadly Cupprimo has slowly gone downhill in quality to the point where I have stopped going here, where I used to go 1-3 times a month. The biggest example of this is the Strawberry cupcake, my favorite. When I originally used to get it, it had tons of Strawberries in the cake that would be a jam like consistency. Then the density of the strawberries starting decreasing and I found it rare to even get a strawberry in the mix. The last three times I have gotten the strawberry cupcake they no longer even put a strawberry on top! I am not sure if they are trying to cut costs or what but this is extremely disappointing. This may be my imagination but I feel like some of the recipes have changed too. Most of the cupcakes are just incredibly dry the past few times I have gone. The icings are still some of the best in town but the cake is just disappointing. Like many others I got the dozen Groupon a while back. The quality of the cupcakes was all over the place though and I have not been back since.

Mmm after having a bite of a fudge brownie sunday cupcake a my roommate brought home i finally manged to make it out to cuprimo with him and our friend who just started working there.OH.MY .GOD. THESE CUPCAKES ARE EVEN BETTER RIGHT OUT OF THE CASE.and mind you we came in at 6pm and it was still moist and yummmy. I had a double chocolate, my roomie had a strawberry, and my friend had something that was topped with a single rasperry. Tried all three and died on the spot.cuprimo you have stolen my cupcake eating heart! Deff need to try some iced coffee next time im in here.i also hear tales of a honey chai cupcake, this i have to try sometime. As for the reviewer's that say they make better cupcakes from a box, well i think your full of it, the icing is so effing sweet and whipped but i could eat this icing itself alone.and again our cupcakes were soft and moist at 6 in the evening. Consider me an official fan of cuprimo :)

I wanted to do something really unique and beautiful for my wedding, including the cake. So I decided NOT to do a cake, and instead do cupcakes. Hey Cupcake wasn't worth the hype, so I tried Cupprimo - BEST CUPCAKES I've ever had in my life. My (new) husband and parents don't even like sweets, but they loved the lemon raspberry. We seriously ran out of them so fast at the wedding (even after tons of barbeque!), my husband and I didn't even get one! And look how beautiful they made them for us: facebook.com/photo.php?f… The woman I worked with also gave me a fantastic deal, and provided the perfect display cases and cupcake liners. It's probably a good thing it's up north, otherwise I'd have to go there ALL THE TIME to have the Reese's cupcake.

I am not sure how people can give this any less that 5 stars, especially when they admit the cupcakes are really good. And believe me, these are the best cupcakes around. I have tried all the different cupcake shops and they ranged from okay to actually gross (Lick it, Bite It or Both). No one else comes close to the quality of Cupprimo. No fake shortening in their frosting - just real butter and cream cheese, and it shows. The Thin Mint mini's are to die for and I'm not even a chocolate lover. Their plain jane vanillas are anything but. Really, I have yet to eat a cupcake from them that did not curl my toes with delight. I love this place.

The boy told me that Cupprimo had the best chai latte he's ever had. I never take the boy's word for anything, so obviously, I had to try it out myself. Okay, for once, he was right. Hands down, they make the yummiest chai latte in Austin. It's creamy and rich, and served piping hot with a drizzle of honey and sprinkle of cinnamon. The boy also told me about their cupcakes and said he thought they were tasty. After carefully studying their display case, I choose the Elvis cupcake, which was a play on peanut butter, bananas and chocolate. I was really disappointed; the cake tasted undercooked, so there was a slight doughy taste. I probably will not go back for the cupcakes, but I definitely will return for a chai latte.

It took me a long time to willfully award Cupprimo five stars, but they finally managed to impress me to that point. The fact that it took them so long to get there is why I took away a star. I'm a stinker, aren't I? Tried out Cupprimo right after they opened, and I wasn't at all impressed. I have no memory of what I drank, but I clearly thought Starfucks did it better, and that's really saying something. Then I stopped at Cupprimo a few times last summer (2009) during my daily neighborhood speed-walk. I was slightly more impressed with their coffee drinks, but not impressed enough to write a review. Finally, I went back a couple of months ago and tried a mocha frappe. That thing sent me into orbit. I found myself going back every day to get one, to the point where I became Mayor of Cupprimo on FourSquare. Don't worry, I know how pathetic that is. I later discovered the Black & White, and I plan to have many more of those as the temperature drops. My addiction alone garners Cupprimo five stars, but the fact that it took them over two years to make me something I actually like means they lose a star. As far as cupcakes, I've tried a couple, mainly thanks to Errol M. I don't know what his deal is with cupcakes, but he's always trying to get me to eat them. I really hate him for that. I'll plop my soon-to-be-fat ass down on his face and suffocate him if he's not careful. Thank god he's on a diet now. At any rate, I was all prepared to give their cupcakes 3.5 stars until the other day when I stopped over there on my own and bought a brownie cupcake. I tucked it away in the fridge to enjoy the next day, and enjoy it I did. A brownie cupcake, folks. Brownie. I sunk my teeth into the crisp edges and couldn't stop masticating in orgasmic delight. And then I discovered chocolate chips in the batter. Oh, holy fuck! And THEN, I discovered a chocolate fudge filling inside. I felt like I'd hit the jackpot in Vegas. Where's my million dollars? The vanilla icing on the cupcake was too fake and store-bought tasting, so that went into the garbage where it belonged. The rest of the cupcake had me singing part of a Billy Joel song: I don't need you to worry for me on my coffee break. I don't want you to tell me it's time to go home. I don't care what you say anymore; this is my cake. Go ahead, get your own cake; leave mine alone. I never said you had to offer me a second treat. I never said I was a victim of Sweet Repeat. My craving's strong, Don't get me wrong. You can have some cake, But not from my plate. ["My Life" youtube.com/watch?v=85sI…

I'm kind of on the fence about this place. The main perk for me is that it's close to where I live. I've never had a bad experience here, and the staff seems to recognize me, but I wouldn't say that it's my favorite cupcake place. Personally I find the cupcakes a little dry and the frosting waaaay too sweet, but it's good when I have a craving and don't feel like driving all the way down to Hey Cupcake or Quack's. We used to love the Chais, but then found out that what they use is just a mix, so we ordered a few pounds of it and have been making them at home for much cheaper. TL;DR - Good if you're nearby, but there are better places if you're willing to make the drive.

update: the chai cupcake is MY FAVORITE PLEASE MAKE IT ALL THE TIME! Also, the baristas are pretty good about making you not feel guilty for coming in three times a week. And they have a drink hole-punch card -- I think it's buy 10 get 1 on the house.

My supposed friend and fellow Yelper, Dan A., brought a box of cupcakes to my party, just after I'd vowed to cut back my "bad" calories! I avoided the temptation all through the party, but one was left behind, so I sealed it up and planned to give it away. But the next day there it sat on my kitchen counter, looking all seductive and glorious with it's bright red (devil) color with it's rich, thick cream cheese frosting. I decided to just take one bite, just a taste, just to see. One bite became two bites, and two bites became three, and after three well I might as well have half, and after the half, it was too late to share it with anyone else, so....yeah. Damn this town's upcropping of cupcakeries!!

I've been back to this several more times. I still say, skip the espresso! But. The brewed coffee is quite decent. And, ta-dah, they have fresh-made quiche every day! I had a piece for brunch once; very tasty! It's not listed on the menu, so ask for it.

I can't believe I found this gem of a place!!! We came at 8:50 at night and the worker was still so friendly! She ended up giving us 2 free little cupcakes!! I tried the red velvet and double chocolate cupcake...delicious. Moist...and the frosting? Whipped, light, and not too sweet and the cake was so flavorful and moist!! Hey cupcake is good but their frosting is so sweet! i can't wait to come back to try more flavors!! Did I mention we got the vegan red velvet cake and it is to.die.for. as well!! More people need to come HERE for a legit cupcake!

A coworker in need of a good cupcake selection, asked if I were to choose from this place & "Lick it Bite it", which would I choose? Well, back in my tight-fittin jeans days, I'd hop from cup-cake joint to cup-cake joint in search for the best c-cake in Austin. This is one of my fav's & I too, have been to Sugar Mama's, Hey Cupcake!, Lick It and many others in Austin. (A certain aforementioned shop is selling what they believe to be 'cupcakes', but are not even in the same category as the $0.75 ding-dongs they sell in vending machines.) To answer the original question, I chose this place. Not because LIBIOB isn't great in its own right, but simply because Cuprimo has one of the best strawberry cupcakes I've ever had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into. I read some funky reviews about this place & the service, & I have one thing to say. At this point in my life, as long as you have damn-good food, I don't care what you have to say to me. I personally, don't remember ever having a negative experience here and THATs because I was too busy imagining what it'd be like to shove a strawberry cupcake into my face. That said, stop the whining & start the dining already!

To start off, this place has the BEST CUPCAKES I have ever tasted. The cupcakes are a moist and delicious bakery quality dessert that I simply do not believe you can compare with bakeries such as HEB, because Cupprimo so far surpasses them! There is certainly a reason they have gained such popularity. My favorite is the Primo Vanilla, but there Red Velvet and Chocolate ASALT are yummy too! I am not a coffee drinker, but my mother has also visited this shop, after my referral, and has reported to me that their coffee is also just as good! As a repeat customer myself, the staff here has always been so friendly and kind to me and the other patrons I have interacted with. The staff is welcoming and engaging in conversation. I cannot see at all why they are getting such negative reviews! I am not at all exaggerating when I say they are friendly and make me comfortable as a customer. My last comment would be in response to the negative comments I have viewed about Cupprimo by unhappy people that have purchased groupons. I would say your complains are unfair and have no place here. Many of them sound like your own mistakes, such as not following the restrictions that are placed on the groupon, and shouldn't be placed on here to negatively affect this wonderful small business. Personally, I have not purchased many different groupons in the past because they usually do have a list of restrictions (you are getting a CRAZY DEAL, which is why you are agreeing to follow such restrictions when you purchase such coupon- the company is probably losing money on your order, please be gracious). As a customer who is paying full price for these treats, I would be unhappy if I came in and they had given them all away to walk in groupons they hadn't been able to plan for. That is a smart business decision on their part as a baker to have a 24-hour prep time, so they know how many they need to make everyday in addition to their regular walk-in cupcake buyers. The employees may have lost their patience by this point in time for constantly dealing with groupon customers that haven't followed directions properly and are rude and difficult. All together, I felt an overwhelming need to let anyone and everyone know that if they miss out on the opportunity to try these scrumptious cupcakes they are really missing out!!! I will continue to make my weekly visits to this cupcakery and buy cupcakes for my fellow teachers!

This review is for the cupcakes only, because I don't really drink coffee. That said, there were no surprises with these cupcakes. The cake tasted like the chocolate I expected, the vanilla buttercream like it usually does. The cupcakes are a little larger than Sugarmama's and a little smaller than Polkadot's, which meant that just one was a decent size. These are a little bit more expensive than both of them, but I think that may be related to them not getting as much business. As far as cupcakes up north go, they're definitely the best in the area, way better than the other coffee shop cupcakes nearby and I think I'll be making more trips their way to see about their other flavors.

I've tried writing this review over and over, erasing what I had typed, constantly being reminded by Yelp to finish my review already, and suffering from reviewer's block. I can't be as funny as Don P. or have a witty review like Errol M. I wish I could say these cupcakes were as good as, if not better than sex like Gabriel H., but sadly these pretty little cupcakes didn't even make it to first base with me. The cupcakes look delicious in the display case, mouth watering to the eye..just not to my mouth. I was sold on the Chocolate Hazelnut (CH) because nice, helper lady mentioned there was Nutella filling in it. I also got a Carrot Cake (CC) cupcake because I could practically eat cream cheese frosting by the spoonfuls and be perfectly content. Both cupcakes were kind of on the dry side. Like almost tasting a day old or not enough butter/oil/applesauce/fill in the blank. I expected CH to be oozing with Nutella filling, but it wasn't. I detected hints of it in the middle, just not as ooey gooey as I had built up in my head. I will say the chocolate cupcake part, near the Nutella filling was moister, but not the outsides of the cupcake. The frosting was the biggest let down. Both were kind of pasty, not creamy. One would think cream cheese frosting on CC would be creamy, smooth, and glistening to the eye, but it was pretty pasty much like hazelnut frosting on CH. I do have to give props to the ladies that greeted and helped me. They were extra welcoming and helpful. A pleasant customer to cashier experience no doubt. Now the cupcakes themselves, they just left me kind of sad. A very brief infatuation or minor crush that quickly fizzled upon first bite. *sigh* 2 stars on the cupcakes and 1 for the service. I can't say if I'll be back since this particular area is on my "rarely visit" list. However, I could be enticed by that Yelp Chai Frap offer I am just now noticing? I was too blind sided by the attractive looks of the cupcakes to even notice the coffee and tea selection! Possible chance for a rebound? maybe.

Amazing cupcakes, but unfriendly owner (assuming Amy is the owner). Apart from Amy's attitude that could be improved, I love their cupcakes. Strawberry is by far their best flavor (I don't even like strawberry-flavored sweets). Pina Colada, Heath Bliss, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and the Orange-Lemon cupcake are excellent as well. Flavors I didn't enjoy include Margarita, Chocolate Rasberry and Chocolate Elvis.

Best cupcakes in austin! They have special daily cupcakes and the cupcakes are ginormous!! The staff is amazing and they also sell mini cupcakes for a buck if you wanna sample a flavor. Frosting was Delish! Cake was moist and flavors were creative and off the charts! Def a go to for the sweet lovers

The two stars are for presentation. The strawberry cupcakes each have a strawberry on them. Unfortunately the cake was dry. My friend's vanilla primo cupcake was worse. It had a cornbread texture and was a bit stale. She couldn't finish it after taking a bite. I did finish my strawberry one but it wasn't great. At least it was a decent size. Correction: I definitely forgot to mention the service (duh) so I had to add another star. The service was definitely great: welcoming and friendly.

God forbid you say anything about the gluten free red velvet cupcake having red dye and how it defeats the purpose for children with allergies. Red dyes are as bad for the brain as gluten is but don't say anything to this place because you may just have your head bitten off! "WE ONLY HAVE RED VELVET OR CHOCOLATE!" okay. I was merely making an observation out loud since I was buying cupcakes for my son, who I am conscious about both red dye and gluten and it would have been AWESOME to give him a cupcake to eat on his birthday without BOTH. That's all. Thank you for making me spend 30 dollars on both gluten and red dye while being rude. My five children appreciate your hard work in the matter.

All I have to say is "Honey Chai" cupcake! Quite possibly the best cupcake I have ever had. I have never craved a cupcake, or any dessert for that matter, as much as I do that cupcake. And that's just one of the many delectable treats they have to offer. Cupprimo offers up unique, flavorful, and ridiculously delicious cupcake creations; I have yet to find a single one that I didn't love. And the icing on the cake (no pun intended) is that Amy and her staff are wonderful people. Their love of cupcakes and pride in their products is readily apparent and makes their cupcakes even more enjoyable (if that's possible!).

I found a Groupon for Cupprimo and ended up using it to order a dozen cupcakes from them right around Valentine's Day. I followed the Groupon instructions (call 24 hours in advance) and picked them up the day before Valentine's Day with no problems at all. The flavor of the cupcakes was very good, and the icing was perfect. I would give this place another star, but some of their cupcakes were just a little too dense to garner a full 4 stars. If they can work on making their cupcakes a little more airy, this place will be top notch.

Just stopped in for some cupcakes and the owner was super-kind, super-energetic, and super-helpful. My husband and I try cupcakes from every chance we get from various bakeries around town and I must say, there is NO BETTER strawberry cupcake ANYWHERE! If you haven't tried Cupprimo's strawberry cupcake, you are missing out! They are baked fresh daily and each time I taste a cupcake from anywhere else, I always compare it to Cupprimo. I have not found anyone who can consistently make better tasting cupcakes than Cupprimo. Love it!

I'm kind of a cake snob. I always bake and decorate my child's birthday cakes from scratch. I judge parents harshly who halfheartedly serve up week-old Crisco-laden sheet cakes from the local grocery store at their children's parties. Shame on them. Clearly they don't love their children as much as I love mine. This year, I decided to supplement the perfect cake with some mini cupcakes. Clearly, they'd be left behind because everyone would be so full and delighted after eating my homemade cake. But, I thought having some mini desserts on the side would make my cake taste even better. I found Cupprimo in an interesting strip center in Northwest Austin. I ordered four dozen of their Saturday specials. I kind of regret it now. Everyone raved about the cupcakes. They assumed I made them. I fessed up and revealed the secret of Cupprimo. The cupcakes were delicious. Moist, just the right amount of icing, crowd-pleasing flavors for kids and adults. And the price was right. The staff was super-nice. People were just hanging out, enjoying coffee and conversation. Thanks, Cupprimo, for making my cake look not-so-special. Thanks, also, for the delicious cupcakes. I forgive you.

Stopped by here on Saturday to pick up some Gluten free cupcakes. Turns out they have two gluten free flavors everyday. Saturday's were Strawberry and White Chocolate Raspberry. They transformed their divine strawberry cupcakes into 'Pinkalicious' 3-yr-old approved mounds of adorableness. OK,enough sticky-sweet talk, these cupcakes really deliver. There are real strawberries baked into the batter, and the frosting is the real thing, not like the "spree" you would get from the supermarket/Costco. They're not inexpensive, I needed 30 mid-sized (must be ordered) so it can add up. But you get what you pay for. I have also tried the lemon which is amazing. The red velvet is just not my 'thing', but it may be yours. Maybe the Elvis next time??? Hmmn? Amy, the owner, was great to deal with especially since I had to postpone my order the night before to later in the week. She's savvy enough to put her cell # on the business cards.

New favorite cupcake place. Stopped in here after eating at Asia Cafe with my boyfriend. We got a snickerdoodle cupcake and a longhorn brownie. We were full from lunch, but ended up eating both in a matter of minutes. First the cupcake. The cake was moist and delicious. It stayed together pretty well, too. The icing was soft, perfect flavor, and just the right amount to compliment the cake. Then the brownie. So rich with a gooey center. Excellent chocolate flavor. The icing on top was a butterscotch (I think) frosting with pecans, caramel, and chocolate. By itself it was good, with the brownie it was Earth shakingly good. I wish we had stopped and gotten more on the way home, but definitely will be back for more...soon. Very soon.

I was very unimpressed by this bakery. At first glance the cupcakes were too small to be charging $3. My husband got the mustache cupcake, the flavor was good but after one bite it gave him a sugar headache (and he's a "big" guy). I got the red velvet cupcake which was completely dry and didn't even have cream cheese frosting (which is implied in a red velvet cake). Instead it was this sickly sweet frosting. Neither the cupcake or the frosting had any flavor. I can't comment on the rest of the cupcakes but with so many other options around Austin this experience was enough for me not to go back.

Hands down, the best cupcake I've had in Austin. And I've tried many places. Love their variety and most of all, they're not TOO sweet. I particularly like the boozy cupcakes...such as the margarita, Irish car bomb, etc... Outstanding!

I was in the area, eating lunch. Being the sweet tooth of the family, I persuaded them to get some cupcakes with me. BAD IDEA. The cupcakes were excruciatingly dry! I think this may be my favorite cupcake place in town. I've tried them about 3-4 times and the cake is right on. The last one I tried was an oreo cake and it was fabulous. It tastes very homemade unlike some in town. I love the variety of flavors and they're a great size. I also love that they sell good coffee too. That just makes sense!

Cupprimo, supreme-o, you are a dream, oh! I love your carbos. Did you know that it is possible to make a gluten-free cupcake moist? I didn't, until now. Wow. They sell regular cupcakes, but offer one type of gluten-free cupcake per day. It alternates between chocolate and red velvet (which just happens to be two of my favorite flavors). I tried the red velvet cake this weekend and it was delicious - intoxicatingly so. Here's another place with gluten-free options - things are getting better every day for us gluten-free types! They also have pretty good lattes. They are a cute little shop located in a not so cute strip center that needs some TLC. But don't let that stop you - it is worth the trip. I'm going back as soon as I give my carb-watching another break.

I had a coupon from Buywithme.com that i used to buy Cupprimo cupcakes. Honestly, these are the worst cupcakes i have had in Austin so far..With the coupon i could only order the 'Baker's choice' flavors. So i opted for vanilla, chocoloate and strawberry. All the three varieties were strictly below average. The cupcakes were dry and the frosting was ridiculously sweet..The strawberries used as toppers were stale and couldn't be eaten.. Extremely disappointed with this place..Certainly not buying from them again!!

I've been here a handful of times now. If you like your cupcake do be dense, you come here. Oddly, I'm a fan of it. I think that's why I prefer things like pound cake and brownies. Their toffee cupcake and the chocolate peanut butter ones are pretty good. They almost make decent coffee and seems actually a bit cheaper then buying at other cupcake shops. Check it out. Also it's nice not to have to drive into the city just for a cupcake.

I cannot believe that this place has gotten anything less than 4 stars. In a town obsessed with cupcakes, these are my favorite hands down. Even over Hey Cupcake...yeah. The people who work there are always really friendly and helpful too! The cupcakes are always very moist and flavorful. That includes both the regular and the minis! I got some of the minis and didn't end up eating the last one until 3 days later. The cupcake was still moist! They're a packaged really pretty and are great to take to birthdays or parties. My favorite ones are the fruit cupcakes. In most places all the fruit it in the icing. Here, there is fruit in the actual cupcake and it has a subtle fruit flavor. The strawberry cupcake...ohh the strawberry cupcakes! That is my absolute favorite! The lemon and lime are also very good. Other favorites of friends and family are the Heath Bar, Raspberry Filled, and Nutella. A few tips: If you go within an hour of closing you can usually get cupcakes at half-price or two-for-one. They still taste amazing by the end of the day. Make sure you check the website before you go because they offer different cupcakes on different days!!

I purchased a dozen cupcakes for a party, and I liked them a lot more than I used to. The (seasonal?) mint cupcakes were delicious. Several people at the party asked me where they were from. In North Austin, this is my place to go.

The owner of this business just refused to fill my order! I have not gotten to speak with her directly on the phone and she does not communicate clearly by e-mail. I found it impossible to get passed her counter-minions to talk to her myself and once I e-mailed to *hello* reconfirm because she was not clear that I had confirmed it (which I did to her employee on the phone and by e-mail prior to that) she says, "I believe after reading the below email, it seems that it would be best if cupprimo cupcakery did not do this order." I was not being that rude, I just thought she should know for the good of her business that she was not coming across well and it had been difficult to work with her. I've done a LOT of weddings and events and have NEVER had this much trouble ordering cake! ADDITIONALLY: The website says that they offer 150 flavors but they would not tell me what they were. Said that I'd have to order by the dozen for that and I AM ordering a dozen! All I needed to know was that she knew when, what and how but that seems to be too much for this business so if you want cupcakes for an event DO NOT go here. The cake isn't good enough for all this trouble. And I won't be going back for any snacks either, I shop local but not with rude people.

The staff is always friendly and the coffee is always delicious. The cupcakes, however, are a little on the dry side. I love their beautiful presentation and the selection of flavors...but I always feel the NEED to have milk to wash it down. Their chai frappe (or iced blender, or something like that), is also worth a mention. I like that they don't pile on the whipped cream. A simple drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon...delish!

I was told by a co-worker to try this place for cupcakes. Got the Brownie Sundae, Chocolate Hazel Nut and Double Chocolate. They were all very good. Only complaint I could say was the icing on the Brownie Sundae was a little too sweet for me but I don't have a huge sweet tooth so maybe some one else might disagree. I would reccomend their cupcakes for sure and would like to try some of their other flavors. I wish you could get any flavor on any day but you can't.

Eh. I did the Groupon thing, followed the rules. I saw that it was "Bakers choice" and asked if they could put more chocolate than other flavors--nope. I ended up getting three chocolate and the other were flavors that I would never order and don't really like. So my hubby and I split a chocolate and a vanilla. I was hoping the vanilla would be a wonderful surprise. Actually both were disappointing. The icing was thick and hard and the cupcakes were just ok-not exciting at all. Unless some of the other flavors are incredible, I don't see myself going back.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a cupcake and now that think about it, I don't think I have ever had a gourmet cupcake in my entire life, that is, until I came to Cupprimo. When we walked in, we were immediately welcomed and greeted with smiles and excellent customer service. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and took our order. Being a chocoholic, I had to order the white and blue cupcake which was a chocolate cupcake topped off with some beautifully executed white and blue frosting. The cupcake was served on a plate and we were able to take a seat at one of the home-style tables in the shop. Right off the bat, I noticed that the cupcakes were pretty big, so you're definitely getting your bang for the buck. The first bite was amazing. A moist, chocolately cupcake, with a balanced and perfect amount of frosting (I never like when the frosting is overpowering) and an all-around incredible flavor. This single cupcake resparked my craving for cupcakes in general. By the time I was done, my appetite was more than satisfied. We had enjoyed the cupcakes so much that we decided to come back in the next day and get a package of their mini-cupcakes for the road. These were perfect to snack on and had an assortment of different frostings and flavors. Overall, I would say these these are the best cupcakes I've ever had and wish I lived closer to Austin just to be able to enjoy them every morning before work. I'm getting a sweet tooth just writing this review.

Wow, name calling and lack of recognition that you cost me alot of time and run around- that's true professionalism. I didn't lie - I told it exactly as it happened. Try learning from feedback instead of name calling and your business will do alot better for it.

My personal favorites are the Elvis (banana cupcake w/ layer of a peanut butter, topped with chocolate ganache and a banana chip for presentation and texture) and the margarita (like a key lime, but better). My favorite cupcake place in Austin, though Sugar Mamas is pretty damn good too.

I LOVE this place. Love. It. I've tried Sugar Mama's, Hey Cupcake! and Lick It, Bite It. I still say Cupprimo is surpreme. Their mini cupcakes are perfection and I ADORE their strawberry cupcake. I love that they use real strawberries and it's not that horrible fake "strawberry flavor" that you find so many other places. Gross. I have mostly stopped eating gluten, so I've cut back my splurges at Cupprimo, but I'm seriously thinking about going in tonight to try their gf lemon cupcake. If anyone is going to manage to make a gf cupcake worth raving about, I'm confident the team at Cupprimo will make it happen. Keep up the good work and if you ever make gf minis, I will be first in line for those little beauties!

I think the line that pops up with 2 stars 'meh' sums it up pretty well. I was up in the shopping center ordering a cake for an upcoming birthday. I saw the cupcake place, and decided I had to try it. Now, when I came in, I politely waited for about 5 minutes until I started saying "umm.. hi... Hi.... HI" to get the persons attention in the back. She didn't hear me come in and was too engrossed in cleaning whatever it was she was cleaning to notice me standing there. That said, when she served me, she was extremely polite and apologetic about not hearing me come in so I was pretty okay with it. Unfortunately, the cupcakes were not very good. I got a chocolate one and a vanilla one. I originally got one for me and the other for the husband. He wanted to try both, so I got out my cake leverer and used it to neatly bisect them in half so we each got a side. I tried the vanilla first. The only one in the house that finished it was the dog and she wasn't all that thrilled by it. I tried it and found it to be dry and almost stale tasting. The husband (who I sometimes think has cake batter instead of blood in his veins) took a bite and looked at me accusingly and said "were these refrigerated because they taste like it...." I left them out to warm to room temperature at the house, but the store did have them in a cooled display case. We both left most of it on the plate and that says alot about how it tasted. Now, onto the chocolate. The chocolate cake part was a million times better than the vanilla. It was more moist and flavorful. However, it fell down on the frosting. It was overly sweet to the point of being inedible. I like rich chocolate. This tasted like SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR that had a one night stand with a cocoa bean but didn't really want to commit. Overall, I was disappointed. I had high hopes but I'm not planning on returning.

Cupprimo is near me so - Hooray! I've never had a bad cupcake from here. They have creative flavors and combinations and they're moist. Is the icing sweet - yes - duh that's how its suppose to be. Most of the ladies behind the counter are attentive though there is one that's marginal and she's not really bad just always distracted, i just had an almond joy cupcake and loved it!!! .

I was very excited to try my first 'gourmet' cupcakes. I purchased 6 mini cupcakes, each a different flavor. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. The cupcakes were dry and had too much frosting. I was expecting a much better experience. I am still up for trying other cupcake places, but I will not be returning to Cupprimo.

Love their cupcakes. They have such interesting flavor varieties such as mimosa, neapolitan (my fave), chocolate peanut butter, thin mint, etc. Moist cake, good butter cream. Some are even stuffed in the center, mm-mmm. The only downside, they rotate flavors in their grab and go case. So one day you might try something and never catch it again. I haven't tried the coffee but I go out of my way to grab a cupcake from here when I'm up north.

Really bad cupcakes. Dry and flavorless. Just my opinion, and I am a baked goods snob. But you might believe me anyway. We had the little taster ones so I can see them being drier than the big ones, but why would the store even make those if they're going to be bad? We came there on a Saturday night, so that may have been why they were dry, but see the last sentence. Why do cupcakes made from a cheap box mix taste better and moister than the cupcakes I've had around town? Surely, surely, a place that specializes in cupcakes can have good cupcakes, right...? I did like the pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting and big chunks of dark chocolate. But how can you mess up pumpkin bread? Maybe if they put pumpkin in the other cupcakes, they would be moist too. Kidding about that, but what about putting in apple sauce or something? I love that there's a little dessert place around the corner from me. I gave them an extra star for being nearby where I live and for being open late, making it a nice evening coffee spot--and they do serve a variety of coffee, which I can't speak for because I don't drink coffee. But since their specialty is cupcakes and they do that terribly (at least from the taster ones we had), I had to score them low. I did like the hot chocolate, because it was made from a Ghiradelli syrup--a good choice.

In case of emergency these cupcakes are wonderful for breaking a window. They are heavy, dense and unflavorful. The frosting on 1 cupcake has enough sugary frosting to frost an entire cake. It was heavy and super sweet. Didn't think there was ever such a thing as too sweet but these were overpowering. The cupcakes tasted like they were weeks old, dry and crumbly. Bought them for my husbands Birthday, he was dissappionted. Woulda been better off buying a box of Ding Dongs at HEB.

Truly looking forward to celebrating my mothers' extravagant 50th Birthday party with the amazing and creative help of the staff over at Cupprimo. I have never delt with a more relaxed, friendly and up beat company. Thank you so much Cupprimo!

I got a dozen cupcakes to celebrate a co-worker's birthday. They were not cheat ($28 if I recall?) but then again, cupcakes never are. We did the vanilla/vanilla, chocolate/chocolate (both of these are on the standard menu). The third was a daily special, brownie sundae-- a brownie baked like a cupcake, covered with whipped cream, chocolate ganache and a cherry. Everyone who ate one raved about how delicious it was, and it was very substantial (it weighed a ton when I picked one up to hand to someone). The vanilla looked beautiful, topped with pale yellow sprinkles. The chocolate had a malted milk ball as garnish. They tasted great-- the cake was not dry, and was just dense enough. The frosting was not as buttery as I prefer, but it had this old-fashioned homey taste that reminded me of how my grandmother taught me to make frosting with confectioner's sugar, butter, milk and vanilla. The staff were very attentive and friendly. In fact, they remembered the order I called in when I visited, and had it all ready to go for me. I will definitely be back, and so will my co-workers. P.s. This strip mall is totally ugly but since it holds local treasure Asia Cafe, I decided to take a chance.

Who would have thought that Austin would be on the forefront of the cupcake revolution? The bevy of cupcakeries around town is fantastic in that it gives us so many options, and also means that there's always some place near by when you get that urge. But the down side is that with the increased competition, we get to be more picky with our sweet tooth. This means that something that we may consider just great suffers from a comparison to something fantastic. When there are multiple fantastic bakeries around town, being just good isn't enough. First off, these are bigger than normal cupcakes. That's great for value, but it also makes them harder to eat. I had a tough time getting bites out of them because of the size. Also, the icing on them was very sweet, sometimes overpowering any subtlety that may have been in the icing or the cake. For example, I absolutely love cream cheese icing and red velvet cakes. But the icing on these wasn't silky smooth like you expect from that kind of icing, and the sugar in it almost made the cream cheese flavor moot. And I know that this can vary from batch to batch, but the cake itself just wasn't as soft as I like in a cupcake. You end up with a fairly dense dessert. I have a massive sweet tooth, but I was pretty much done after just half of one of these But I don't want to seem like I'm slamming them. There are some good things going on over there. The day I went in, they had a snickerdoodle cupcake. This was, I think, my favorite. I liked the flavors that went into it, and there's definitely a solid foundation there for something fantastic. The lemon cupcake I had was also good, with a nice garnish of a candied piece of real lemon that was a nice touch. The server that was there was very nice to me when I went in; very warm and inviting, even though it was later in the evening toward the end of the shift. It's a tough race for cupcakes!

Went for the first time today with my mother-in-law and my two daughters for a "girls day" and it was a success!! We got a wide assortment and everything was perfect. MIL is gluten-free and LOVED her cuppie, and my girls devoured theirs. I got some minis, to try to tastes a few different flavors - but the Heath cuppie... I could that every day for the rest of my life. The frosting is what an orgasm tastes like... The staff was friendly, and the owner was there and we chatted for a while. The whole experience was awesome and made for a great girls day out :) We got some to-go they were great, even after being in my purse and then the fridge. The only reason I'm knocking off a star is that I'm a mom to two toddlers and there were no high chairs or boosters for my girls - we made due, and it was worth it, but it would have been more fun with high chairs.

I pulled into this plaza with the intention of going to Big Lots for Back-to-School Supplies. Instead I find the insane hodegepodge of services that can be found in this strip mall- asian markets, dollar general, jui jitsu, bubble tea, vintage boutique, etc etc. Saw the "cupcakery" sign from across the parking lot and made my way over. I split the Heath Bar with my husband. The chocolate cake was a little dry, but there was a tasty glob of caramel in the middle. There was a ton of frosting with heath bars crumbled over the top. We also ate a teeny strawberry- again dry cake, yummy frosting. It's worth a try, maybe earlier in the morning for fresher cake?

  • Angela M.

Seriously? I wasn't feeling the cupcake experience. I guess I subscribe to the theory that if you're going to call yourself a "Cupcakery", you really need to sell it all the way. Every bakery should be crisp and clean and clutter-free. A "Cupcakery" should highlight what it sells. And if you're charging $2-3 for a single cupcake, consider it a piece of art. It should *look* as good as it tastes. Presentation. Presentation. Presentation. Each customer should feel as though they were receiving something special and exciting that you created just for them. Show your customers how thankful you are to have them. Instead, we get barely half-assed presentation by not-so-friendly employees. Kind of like throwing slop to the pigs. There is so much not going on here that I'm left wondering, "At what point did the owner give up?"

  • Jim C.

Caveat: I'm not much on sweets, though I do like the occasional sweet dessert. I just tried their minis. All were tasty, but the only one I really liked was the strawberry. The rest were either too dry or too sweet. The hot chocolate was too sweet as well. Very tiny place, but workable. Service was good, and it's nice that we were able to find a place to go after dinner on a Saturday night that wasn't a bar and had good stuff to eat.

LOVE this place! As a person with a gluten intolerance, I love that there's always a gluten free cupcake option (the chocolate raspberry is a must!). The people are nice and always friendly. One time we even called in the day of and asked them if they could hold four of their gluten free cupcakes for us to pick up later (we were going to a party and wanted to make sure our gluten free friends could have a treat) and they did so, no problem! I'm definitely going to be ordering my birthday treats from them!

I don't eat a lot of cupcakes in order to keep my girlish figure. However, I love to get coffe at Cupprimo. I guess you could say I'm a regular since I go about 1x per week for a cup of joe. Amy, the owner, always knows my order and is always up for a quick chat. I love that this is a neighborhood place where I can get good coffee instead of going to the chain up the street. This is one of those little places that make you feel part of the 'hood.

This cupcake spot rocks. The bakers are always refilling the front case from the back every time I walk in. The cupcakes are moist, and the icing melts in your mouth. My favorite is the white chocolate raspberry or the strawberry- you can taste the real strawberries in the icing. The presentation is gorgeous, and the cupcakes are huge. The espresso is such a nice blend, the drip coffee is fresh, and has a nice, bold flavor-unusual for drip coffee in my experience. They are a LOCAL, mom & pop shop with cute pictures of their little family everywhere. It gives it a nice homey, personal touch that is adorable. Awesome place, and worth checking out for sure.

I have tried most of the cupcake places in Austin - Sugar Mamas, Hey Cupcake, Sugar Star, Lick It Bite It , Polkadots and Cupprimo. I give Cupprimo 3 stars ( I rarely give 5, and the best of the best - Sugar Star only gets 4). My girlfriend and I are working our way through their menu - 2 cupcakes a week - we're about 1/4th through. ( that's 8 varieties so far) While all have been good, they could be moister and some need flavor improvement. The Italian Creme was a bit dry and needed more flavor, the Caramel Butterscotch - a bit too sweet, The Lemon Raspberry, Chocolate Raspberry and Elvis were very good. Also on the top were their Margarita and PIna Colada. We'll see how the rest fare in the coming weeks. ok - update time. Today I got the Snickerdoodle and the Almond Joy. The Snickerdoodle , while it had a very good cinnamon flavor, was a bit on the dry side and I am undecided on the cream cheese frosting. The Almond Joy on the other hand, was just plain awesome! Great chocolate flavor, moist, good coconut flavor - not too overpowering, and you get a mini almond joy on top. A wonderful combination. update - July - Today we got the Lemonberry and Neopolitan. They do very good lemon cupcakes and I was not disappointed. The Berry was blueberry and it came as the frosting. The cake was moist and lemony, the icing was ok - maybe more blueberry and a bit too sweet but overall a very good cake. The Neopolitan - well the design is just genius. It's a vanilla, strawberry, chocolate cake - and it's not swirled , it's sculpted. Chocolate on the bottome, vanilla up the sides and strawberry in the middle. The icing is Cocolate and strawberry. Just yummy, you get a good clean taste of the flavors and it was moister htna the usual cupcakes I get there. The flavors were awesome though! Putting this as one of my top favotire cupcakes! This might move them up to 3.5 stars in my book

I've tried quite a few cupcake places in Austin, especially in the North Austin area and this so far has been my least favorite. Granted, I haven't tried any of their drinks, but as far as the cupcakes go, I really think there is better out there. We got a half a dozen, and almost all of them had really dry cake. The frosting was good, but that doesn't make up for no moisture in the actual cake part.

Theme of this review: NOM NOM NOM. If you need more detail, read on. I became aware of Cupprimo when I drove by, looking for the coffee shop that used to be in its spot. Overall, many apologies to the coffee shop, Cupprimo is totally leaps and bounds better. To begin with, their cupcakes are huuuge. Most of the other cupcakeries around town give you this thoroughly average sized cupcake, and charge you $2.50. I'm sorry, but I can make a dozen cupcakes for $2.50. Cupprimo, however, sells *huge* cupcakes for $2.50 - the value definitely seems better. Their frosting is tasty, not overpoweringly sweet, and their cakes are moist. Really, the only complaint I have is that I'm not a huge fan of the rotating menu - and they seem to sell out of the popular flavors early. For example, don't try to get a peanut butter chocolate cupcake after 5pm! Overall, though, love it! Nice staff, good location, tasty cupcakes. OM NOM NOM.

This place is super cute. The cupcakes are amazingly delicious, but a bit too expensive. So it's a treat to come here and chow down. I was a bit skeptical to pull into the parking lot because it looks sheisty. But it was actually nice inside. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try a whole new cupcake experience.

After a visit to Asia Market a couple weeks ago for lunch I saw this place and thought I'd come back. My roommate and I went there and were instantly greeted, which is nice, but then the woman just kept talking. We appreciated the explanations on all the cakes, but we can read and if you have a bakery, then we assumed that they were baked there fresh. We decided to split two cupcakes and at $2.50 each, they are decently priced and sized so it was worth it right there. Their Elvis cupcake (banana cake, peanut butter frosting topped with chocolate ganache and a banana chip) was tasty enough, though I agree with the others that the banana cake was a little dry. The peanut butter layer was perfect though, so I'll give them that. The chocolate raspberry (chocolate cake with chocolate frosting filled with raspberry gel and topped with a fresh raspberry) was really good, the filling was great, but the pyramid of frosting was unnecessary though very tasty. We did not take advantage of their $1.99 latte as it was hot as hell outside and we're poor so it was just the two cakes for us. I'm sure their coffee is great as most of the previous reviews have nothing but good things to say. They do not mind that you charge your one cupcake to a credit card so that's nice and though the place is small, the tables are nice for meetings and homework. The cakes are lighter than Hey Cupcake! and close to the same size. Sugar Mama's has more selection, but the cakes are smaller. It all depends on what sort of cake you like and what part of town you're in. If you want some tasty cake that is well priced for the size and made fresh, then stop in next time you get lost in North Austin and prepare to be greeted.

If you like buttercream frosting on your cupcakes, here's one of your best options up N. The cakes were moist & flavorful, they had a great selection of flavors (they change daily), the decorations on the cupcakes were adorable (I got an Easter cupcake with a little candy egg under a peep in a "nest" of buttercream--- awww) . The coffee was pretty good too. Nice atmosphere & good service.

My friend and I visited for a mid-morning coffee and snack away from the husbands. The cupcakes were great as were the lattes we got! I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. I had a gluten-free chocolate cupcake. It was extremely moist and tasty! Thanks again! Next time I'll bring my girls for some treats.

Yay! A cupcake shop near my house. After treating myself to my favorite meal in town (Spicy Fish at Asia Cafe) I walked down to Cupprimo to indulge. The lemonberry cupcake with buttercream reminded me of the glazed lemon bundt cake my mom made when I was a child. It was moist and fresh. The cupcakes here are BIG. I had one and needed a nap! Definitely will return to sample the other flavors.

This place is kinda dangerous if you're trying to eat more heathy! That's the ONLY reason I took away 1-star. ;-) Other than that... the cuppy cakes are divine! I really like the one they call "Red Velvet". Haven't tried ALL of them.. yet!... but so far, they've all been really good. Maybe a little too heavy on the icing though. I wanna enjoy a tasty cuppy cake every now and then... NOT be sent into a diabetic comma. Well... maybe a little. ;-)

I am a big fan of drinking coffee and eating an local cafes, etc. so I tried Cupprimo in lieu of the easy drop into Starbucks. I have done the local thing with mixed success, but this one was the worst of all. I'm bummed, because it is right in my neighborhood and I would enjoy a good cafe hangout. Coffee - simply bad. I drink dark roast/espresso coffees without cream and sugar. I like it black where I can enjoy the coffee on its own. Their espresso was so bad I simply slammed it for the caffeine. Perhaps a latte or mocha tastes better, but the basic coffee was undrinkable. Cupcakes - the cupcakes were decent, but I don't see anything special here other than them looking cute. Service - this is where the drop in stars really comes from. I remember the days of Katz' Deli where it was cool to have the waiter be short with you and a bit arrogant. That was fun and expected at the deli, especially because you could be rude (in a fun way) back to them. The owner here acts like there is a line out the door and business is booming so much that you simply do not matter. Unfortunately, that attitude trickles down to others that work there. It reminds me of a host/hostess working at a 5 star restaurant for $10/hr that thinks he/she owns the place and you are privileged to be there. Absolutely ZERO customer service. I hope this Yelp review is considered helpful to improve things, because I'll give it a try again in 3-4 months to see if it is better. Unfortunately, I'm more confident the owner will read this and just write me off as being wrong, just like in the cafe itself.

My family loves Cupprimo! It's right next to the pharmacy, so we stop in each time we visit the pharmacy. The staff are friendly; the coffee is good; the cupcakes are great. There are some flavors I'm not wild about, and they do tend to sell out of the popular flavors fast, but their stock vanilla and black & white cupcakes are excellent. They had delicious dark chocolate-covered strawberries for Valentine's day. We'll continue to visit Cupprimo several times a month.

I've been meaning to write a review for a while now. This place is awesome and deserves all 5 stars especially because of their customer service. I live really close by to Cupprimo in the Northwest Austin area, and I love love love cupcakes. When I first heard of Cupprimo, I didn't really have any urge to try it, but when my sister found a deal on GroupOn, we bought it and went and tried it. And it was awesome. So delicious and the variety of unique flavors is great. Ever since, my mom has become in love with Cupprimo. She orders a dozen mini cupcakes for her parties at work, and we have come to love the mini cupcakes more than the regular-sized cupcakes. They are the perfect size, because they don't give you that overload of sweetness that sometimes the big ones do. They taste just as good as the big ones, come in the same flavors, and are just a great bite-size dessert. When I was deciding on what grad school to go to, I came up with an idea to reveal my decision to my parents. My parents knew that I was deciding between two schools, so I e-mailed Cupprimo and asked them if they could help me with the reveal. I asked them to fill the inside of my mom's favorite flavored cupcake with blue icing so that when my mom bit into the cupcake, she could see that the icing was blue which is the color of the grad school I had decided to attend (UNC). I believe it was Amy who replied back to me through e-mail, and she was immediately responsive and super willing to help. I wanted them the next day, and she agreed without hesitation. Also, the other day, I went into Cupprimo to pick up a box of a dozen mini cupcakes for my mom's Christmas party at work. The lady who helped me was super welcoming, nice, and helpful. When I came home, I accidentally dropped the entire box on the floor, and the cupcakes were flat and ruined. I called Cupprimo and told them that I had just come in and told them I had dropped the box and would be back ASAP to pick up another box. I went back to the store with my credit card in hand, ready to pay for another box. The lady that had helped me earlier and I had spoken to on the phone told the cashier that the cupcakes were on her and that there was no charge for the second box. I was stunned. I asked her if she was sure, and she said "yeah, don't worry about it, it happens." It totally made my day!! This just reassured to me that Cupprimo has amazing customer service. Just awesome. Every cupcake lover (or just sweets lover) should try Cupprimo! It's not only delicious but they also have impeccable service.

I have yet to try a cupcake here that I didn't like. Their cupcakes have the perfect amount of frosting and are always moist. My favorites are Blue Velvet and Neapolitan, but really all the flavors are delicious.

After reading many positive reviews, I finally gave in to the temptation and took the journey up north to try out Cupprimo. I mean hey, cupcakes and coffee, why not? I wanted to like the place, really really like it; but I was a little disappointed. I tried the pumpkin spice latte, decent price (a much better deal than Starbucks), and I could actually taste the pumpkin flavor (unlike Starbucks). However, the pumpkin flavor had a not-so-fun chemical after taster, which prevented me from finishing the latte. Also, there was a little too much foam for my preference, but I can easily remedy this with a simple request next time. I usually go for a giant cupcake, covered in delicious frosting, but after noticing the adorable mini cupcakes, I went with the mini. Saving me a little cash and I'm sure my waist line appreciated it. 5 stars for cupcake cuteness - I loved these little guys. The taste however, was average. My mini red velvet was a little dry and the frosting, while decent in flavor was a little too hard, almost slightly crunchy. Now, it could just be that things work out a little differently with the minis vs. the large cupcakes, so I haven't given up. If I am ever up there again, I'll try out one of the large cupcakes. Although I wasn't overly impressed, the service is quick and I was greeted with a very friendly smile. Because of such nice service, I recommend giving them a try, hey it may work for you. I want nice businesses like these to succeed. So next time I'm up there, I'll try them out again.

Maybe I just like my own cooking. Or maybe I'm just so "over" cupcakes. Either way, this place doesn't convince me that the $3 cupcake craze is justified. Have tried most of the places in town and still think my homemade ones are better. And save about $30 bucks by making them. I got a Neopolitan cupcake, since I couldn't decide. The presentation was fabulous, but execution was blah. Not especially moist. Icing was flavorless. Any real butter in there? Sweet and not much else. Not worth the calories. One of the stars is for the clerk. She was friendly and chatty. Added a nice, personable touch to my day, which is priceless. My research is complete on the Cupcake war. Make time for homemade or pass. Besides, my pants are gettin' too tight.

Very mixed experience. I bought 6 mini's in a variety of flavors. The vanilla was OK, the blue velvet was fresh, soft, aromatic but I don't like cream cheese. Had the lady working offered to tell me anything about the cupcakes I would not have ordered this one. But I was visiting family and wanted to bring over something sweet. The two chocolates were old, crunchy and really gross and the two strawberry went uneaten by a two year old and a four year old. I knew something was wrong when the both barely touched them, offered another and they passed. Hmmm, the coffee was hot and fresh though.

Cupprimo appears to hold itself on a high horse, as it was seen on the Cupcake Wars, a Food Network show. But then again, who doesn't assume they forever stake their claim once they are found to be famous, even to a small extent. I ordered up a dozen mini's, as I heard that these little guys were all the rage. I do assume that shops that completely revolve around cakes that are found in miniature packages will soon crash. The offerings are just not wide enough in terms of variety and execution. The red velvet was probably the most rich, with a nice cream cheese frosting rounding the whole thing out. The chocolate certainly possessed that cocoa flavor, but nothing more. The vanilla and strawberry were OK, at best. I would have preferred a bit more unique characteristics in my selection. Alas, they only offer those 4 choices. In terms of texture, I would have preferred more moisture and less density. Plus, I assume they could have cooked them for shorter duration due to surface area, thus allowing for moistness galore. Cupprimo does the job, but it is nothing to run out and get, as Cupprimo is not in a convenient location by any means. For anyone looking to get a fantastic mini-cake, don't rush out of the city limits.

I was really hoping this place would be as great as I heard as it's so close to a lot of restaurant establishments I frequent. much like many cupcakeries, I was disappointed. I tried both the pumpkin chocolate chip (pumpkin's my favorite, so I ready for this to be super delicious) along with the red velvet. unfortunately, neither one of these cupcakes made the mark. both were dry & needed more flavor. on top of that, there was a fly in the display case. yuck. sorry to say I won't be back to visit this cupcakery.

Love this place, absolutely love this place. So many great cupcake flavors. Erica (who I see most often) remembers just how I like my coffee (White chocolate mocha with peppermint flavoring). So happy that they have almond milk now. I'm lactose intolerant & don't like soy that much. Almond milk makes a wonder in coffee. Gives it kinda a sweeter taste. It's a really good place to stop by on the way home or on lunch break for a snack or something to wake you up.

I've only had the double chocolate mini cupcakes. Unlike most other cupcakeries, these were actually moist. The frosting was a-okay (not too sweet, thank you) and the little m&m topper added a nice crunch and extra chocolate push. I might upgrade to 5 stars after trying it a few more times.

So I stopped at this other cupcake place that sells their goods out of a streamliner. Very shiny and hard to miss. The cupcakes are good; they don't suck. But that made me realize even more how great and awesome the cupcakes at Cupprimo are. I love that Cupprimo's menu changes daily and they even add new ones every month that I've never had. Always a pleasant surprise. Love it and it's cheaper. If you don't want just one huge cupcake, they have minis so you can sample their assortment.

This update to my review is strictly on the service. The cupcakes are still great! The woman (and I use that term loosely) at the counter today was not friendly in the least bit. I wish I would have gotten her name because there was another lady there (with black hair) that was working the back and making the coffees that was there and is always amazing and friendly. Anyhow, the lady with the more brown colored hair working the register was so unfriendly and never cracked a smile. She was like that from the moment me and my friend walked in until the moment we walked out. We sat down to enjoy our cupcakes and drinks and before leaving I had to grab a cupcake to go for another co-worker at the office. Well here I am standing behind the lady that she was helping and in walks another customer who decides to go around to the other side of the counter and jump in front of me instead of waiting in line. Okay... I can see he's an a-hole, but she knew that I was there first and should have looked my way instead of his way to give him the go ahead to order before me. It was very obvious as to what was taking place here. I deal with clients everyday at our firm, and would never treat any of them with such disrespect. I would never let such a rude person like her be the first person that my customers meet when they walk into the doors of my business. We all want great cupcakes, but we also want to be treated with the respect that we all deserve. You may want to rethink this one Cupprimo!

So after reading this morning about a supposed "cupcake backlash" in Europe, I remembered that I need to review Cupprimo, my most recent cupcake experience. (Side Bar: OK, so, the author of this story attacked 1). the fact that people get excited about cupcakes and 2). that they're FRIVOLOUS. Obviously one must eat dessert in a suit and sensible shoes. Here it is, so we can all point and laugh. bit.ly/dclk2U ) Moving on. I'm a cupcake fan. They're cute, they're delicious, and they reinforce good portion size. I recently ventured into Cupprimo with a Groupon in hand for 12 mini cupcakes for $5. Yes, that's right. I felt quite pleased with myself, like I had pulled a fast one on somebody. $5 for a dozen little cupcakes from a real live fancy cupcakery? Well I'll be. I rode that smug wave into the store front, and that's when it started awkwardly tumbling downhill into the mud below. First off, in their address, they don't have a suite number, yet they're in a big shopping center. No "Suite 143" or "Across from Big Lots on the west side". Nope. So I drove around Jollyville for awhile, looking for the free-standing building that was indicated by their address. After a phone call, I was guided back to the large, ugly shopping center they resided in and finally found my way over. Walking in, I was greeted to nothing more than a space that looked like a converted Subway. The decor was straight out of Hobby Lobby, the menu was poorly hung on the wall, and the displays were unflattering. Oh, and no greeting from the staff. After making my way through the line, the woman behind the counter gave me an expectant look, like she just wanted me to hurry the hell up and tell her what I needed. She only spoke to me to ask if I did indeed have my Groupon and then to ask me what assortment of cupcakes I ordered, because she seemed to have mislaid my order. After we got organized, I left, still happy with the combo of sun, weekend, and cake. At this point, I'm thinking, "Damn, with all of the cute lil' cupcake shops in town, (I'm looking at you, Polka Dots/Sugar Mama's) they must be awesome! They have such stiff competition." The best way to summarize the flavor and consistency of these cupcakes is: sadtrombone.com That's right. I don't know if baking the cakes really small poses a problem with them drying out, but they were all way dry and crumbly, and the icing was kinda hard like it had sat out. The first thing that hit me were these jellybeans on top of the cakes, as a garnish. It was right before Easter, so I understand why they did it, aesthetically, but as professional bakers, you'd think they would consider the flavor. They put artificial tasting, vaguely sour jellybeans on top of chocolate cakes with buttercream icing. It wasn't pleasant. From there, I dug into a lil' red velvet cake, easily my favorite. Yuck. I couldn't taste any cream cheese in the dot of frosting, the cake was, per usual, dry, and had no flavor. Same for the lemon on lemon cakes. Lemon cake should be tart and citrusy. You should taste real, smack-you-in-the-mouth lemon flavor offset by the sweetness of the cake. It SHOULD be delicious. But with these cupcakes, after much investigation, I was only barely able to discern that they were indeed the lemon and not an unfortunately colored vanilla. In truth, all of the cakes, and all of the flavors (which all tasted the same), were uniformly cloying on the tongue. Flavorless, oversweet, dry and generally lackluster. May Polka Dots and Sugar Mama's put them out of their misery.

Cupprimo is what Austin is about; a sence of community through a locally owned business! The Cupcakes are good, I've tried most of them, but recently I have been ordering the "Nekkid's", which are cakes without frosting. Delicious! I also brought my friend who was visiting from out of town to Cupprimo, she is a professional baker and I was a little worried she would have a negative critique since she is very picky. She ordered the carrot cake and labeled it "To Die For!!" The coffee here is also right on, their Chai Tea Frapp actually has a large following. The people who work at Cupprimo are wonderful. They greet my daughter by name when she comes in and I've noticed they have a personal repore with most of their customers. It's a relaxed atmosphere with coffeehouse music and tables and chairs inside and outside to hangout in. I've noticed alot of the reviews on here complain about the cupcakes being dry, this has not been my experience and I visit the cupcakery weekly, although I don't go for a "culinary experience". I come back again and again for a sweet treat, great coffee, and to support a local Austin business.

My husband and I went here for cupcakes shortly after they opened a couple years ago, but weren't very impressed, the cupcakes were very grocery-store-quality. We didn't go back for a long time, but recently we decided to give them another try and were happy to find that they've changed their recipes and that now the cupcakes are larger, more moist, and come in a number of interesting flavors. We've only tried a few of the new cupcakes, but the Reeces cupcake is the best peanut butter cupcake I've tried anywhere. My favorite overall is the heath bliss cupcake, which is a moist chocolate cupcake filled with caramel and topped with some sort of good icing and heath bar chunks. The only thing that kept me from giving them five stars is that the service is reasonable but not great, and that they are a touch pricey. The price is in line with other gourmet cupcake shops ($2+ per cupcake), but it would be nice if they offered discounts by the dozen. They are definitely worth trying, or re-trying if you tried them before they changed their recipes.

We were looking for a fun way to tell the family the gender of my daughter's baby so I called Amy at Cupprimo for help. She took charge, was very professional and discreet and created the most amazing cupcakes filled with PINK for a girl. We were all surprised and excited and the cupcakes were delicious. A big "Thank You" to Amy and the Cupprimo staff for making my daughter's Gender Reveal party a huge success!

I had to knock a star off my previous review because this place really does not have good cupcakes at all. I've been a couple of times since my first review to give them a chance ( I really want to like them since it's close to where I live), but they left me unimpressed every single time. The frosting on their cupcakes are hard and way too sweet, and the cupcake itself is also too sweet and not moist enough - not to mention there isn't much flavor in the cupcake besides sugar. I tried one of their 'specials' which was their brownie sundae, and there wasn't anything special about it. It was just a brownie with some thick, too sweet, chocolate icing on top. I could probably make that myself at home. Even with a coupon in hand, I won't be going to this place for quite some time.

We decided to try this place after friends recommended it. I had been wanting to try a cupcake place for awhile. The service was excellent, the owner (I presume) even brought us forks when she saw we were sharing with each other. I loved the chocoberry! My husband said the icing on the red velvet was excellent but he wasn't thrilled with the red velvet part. It was his first red velvet so I wouldn't judge it on that. The other cupcakes (double chocolate, black and white, and primo vanilla) were all good but everyone said mine was the best Yay me! :) I would like to go back and try the Reese's one. And the carrot...

I've been coming to Cupprimo since they opened. The cupcakes are baked fresh daily and the coffee drinks are delicious. The owner and manager are the kind who remember your face and your preferences. They are very helpful and flexible when it comes to making an order. Flavors, colors and even custom decorations are available. Even coming in at the last minute for a couple of dozen is met with the staff doing their very best to get you what you need. My kids love this place because of the tasty, thick icing. I like the cake part. :)

    I. Love. Sweets. When I first moved here I went to Cupprimo every day. EVERY day. The shopping center they are in is a little run down, but don't be scared it's nice inside. The icing is sweet and the cupcakes are huge. I've tried and liked most of the cupcakes. My favorites are the Brownie Sundae and Strawberry. The Brownie Sundae is very rich, very yum.

YUM is what I got to say about Cupprimo!! We discovered their awesome little shop about a hear and half ago and I'm in there several times a month for their coffee - slurp, delicious. Mmmmm...cupcakes, they are divine - I love the mini's so I can get a little taste the entire selection for the day. Service is always great - great place for meeting up with folks for meetings or chats....they have WIFI - and I really love the vintage, quirky little shopping center that they are in. YEAH Cupprimo!!

I love the cupcakes at Cupprimo. The strawberry are delicious and come with a ripe strawberry on top. The black and white (chocolate cake with white icing) are good as well. I can see why some don't like the large amount of icing, but with a cupcake that big you need icing! The margarita was good, but I'm not a huge fan of lime cake/pastries/pie, etc. I find these to be better than hey cupcake and be my cupcake in lakeline.

I have been back a few times. The espresso has improved slightly but I still give it 3 stars. I will say that I have been told that I am a coffee and wine snob, but those are two beverages that I love. The espresso here is ok, but not great. For comparative purposes, generally, I would give Starbucks a 1-2 star rating for their burnt espresso. I do have friends that really like the lattes here and they love the cupcakes. Steamed milk can cover for a lot of things. I would encourage you to try it out for yourself.

I had visited this place before and I would have given it maybe 2/2.5 stars based on that visit, but it has gone WAY downhill since my first visit. The cupcakes are now at least twice as large as they were back then (about 4 months ago, I think). But there is an inverse relationship between the size and the quality, because they are at least 4 times as crappy as before. I got the double chocolate, and my friend got the vanilla, and we both ate less than 1/4 of the cupcake before throwing the rest away. For one thing, the icing was hard and dry, kind of crunchy, on the outside, as if it had been sitting there drying out for a couple of days. And the cake itself was full of air, and powdery dry. Unforgivably bad, even worse than Hey Cupcake now, which takes some doing.

Excellent, freshly baked cupcakes. Love the fact that they have standard flavors and daily specials. I see that others have called out the single-cupcake pricing, saying it is high...what's the problem? Huge dessert for $2.50? Same pricing as Hey Cupcake, and a MILLION times better. Even with the daily specials, my favorites are still the double chocolate and the strawberry (no fake strawberry here...all real). The only thing I would change would be to eliminate the extra sugar crystals on the strawberry frosting - it is sweet enough. Anyway - love the place, and honestly don't care about the location. The product is the best anywhere, and they are probably the only cupcake purveyors in town to bother to bake their product fresh every day. Hey Cupcake sells previously-frozen product.

For my wedding, I ordered cupcakes from Cupprimo instead of a traditional wedding cake, and they were a HIT! I planned the wedding from out of town, and never managed to actually make it into the store, but Amy and her team made the process simple and easy. Days after the event, i am still hearing from my guests about how great the cupcakes were. We also ordered a dozen of gluten free cupcakes...apparently my guests could not even tell the difference! I personally only tasted the strawberry, which was amazing! Thanks again to cupprimo for making our wedding a tasty and memorable experience!

So when my husband and I first got married and moved to Austin we decided to start a new birthday tradition. In the past, his family would always get him one of those huge cookie cakes for his birthday instead of a regular one. Well after 25 years of this, he decided no more stinkin' cookie cakes. This was around the time "Cupcakeries" started popping up everywhere so I thought, "sounds fancy." My hunny's first birthday came around and I put my plan into action. I picked up an assortment from Hey Cupcake and he absolutely loved the idea. Where they good? Of course. But I wanted to do a little shopping around. Well we've been here for over 2 years now and my shopping around finally led me to Cupprimo about a year ago. Their cupcakes are sooooo amazing. The amount of flavor in the cake is awesome and the frosting has the perfect amount of sweetness. I'm a big fan of eating cupcakes that taste like more than just a huge glob of sugar, so these babies fit the bill. They are always bringing in new flavors, which I get to read about on facebook, and they also have really good coupons. I can't say that I have tried every flavor, but I have never been disappointed. I am not a huge coffee drinker but I tried a frappuccino (I think that's what it was at least) one time when I went in and it went perfectly with a pumpkin chocolate chip cupcake on a cool night. I also love that they have mini cupcakes because they are the perfect size for sampling a new flavor and they don't make you feel as guilty. The shop itself is clean, cute, and welcoming. It is set inside one of the most unique shopping centers in North Austin that has tons of different ethnic food shops (Chen's Noodle House being one of the best). So Cupprimo will always have my heart and will always be supplying my husband and I with sweet treats for our birthdays. Thanks for helping us out with our new family tradition.

I will preface this review by saying I have not visited this establishment. My review is based on customer service. I made contact via email to request pricing, etc. for a few dozen cupcakes for an event. The reply from Amy that I received was curt, brief, and not exactly helpful. She directed me to the website and the Community Impact for a coupon. I chose to do business elsewhere based on this communication. The positive is that she did follow up with me the next day. At that point I took the opportunity to explain why I would not be doing business with her. The response was that she had heard that before. I was disappointed and will not be doing business there. Maybe in the future.

My husband and I took our 3 young kiddos in today to Cupprimo for the first time! We wanted a treat, and honestly I have really been wanting a super yummy cupcake lately! (Of course I had to try them all first just to make sure they weren't eating anything yucky. :) My boys had the red velvet and it was very vey yummy. My daughter had the black and white which was also super good! I chose the snickerdoodle, which is quite different from my usual chocolate tastes. But I was so happy I chose it because it was awesome! I also enjoyed a peppermint mocha which was fantabulous! I'll definitely be back!

This place is a hidden gem. Inside of a nasty strip mall is a wonderful cupcakery. Their cupcakes are delicious. I moved to Austin a few years ago and all I heard about was "Hey Cupcake"...well this place far exceeds any cupcake that "Hey Cupcake" has. These are moist and come in many different flavors. Now, I'm not a big coffee drinker so I haven't had any of their coffee, but their cupcakes are to die for!

I finally stopped by here one afternoon to satisfy my sugar crave. I was greeted by a smiling woman who happened to be the owner. She took the time to describe each and every one of the cupcakes they were offering. I picked the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and my son picked the chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting. They had some unusual ones as well, such as black forest cupcake that had whole cherries baked inside it. The owner told me they also have a Margarita one, but they didn't have it on that day. I really liked the carrot cake, the icing in particular, was very good. I wish the carrot cake had walnuts in it and a little more carrots, but it definitely satisfied my craving. The size of the cupcakes are bigger than the ones at Be My Cupcake but the price is about 50 cents more too. The service is also better here than at Be My Cupcake and they have a punch out card for a freebie once filled up, which is a good idea. I will definitely make my way back here to get my "fix"!

I was given one of the Red Velvet. It was yummy so I had to go see what else they had. I have tried many varities, but the ones I crave are the margarita and the Elvis. The margarita is sweet and sour that makes your mouth just dance. the Elvis is chocolate and peanut butter on a banana bread. I love this place more than any cupcake place I have been to.

I would give Cupprimo more than a 3 star except the fact that I'm still upset over the service I received from someone who I believe was the manager. I live close to this place so I visit at least every other month. I brought my son with me so that I could pick up some cupcakes for my other son's bday. The day before, I purchased 3 buywithme coupons because it was advertised on Cupprimo's facebook page. I was going to use two the next day and 1 another time. I called them that day (Friday) and asked if I needed to order ahead of time and told them I had a coupon thing and they (don't remember who) told me not to worry about it since I was coming in the next morning and they would have a lot available then. So I show up and give them one of my coupons. The manager looks at it and says I can't use it because it didn't start and she had no idea it even existed. Obviously, if I had gotten the coupon in my email, it means that it did fulfill it's quota. She also stated that I could only use one at a time. Okay, I didn't read that one part and I admitted that. Since the coupon was for 1/2 a dozen, but I wanted a full dozen, I asked the waitress for a dozen regular sized and a dozen mini and I would pay the difference. In the meantime, the manager calls her partner and complains to her while I am in earshot that someone is here to use the coupon and she didn't know anything about it. She then hangs up and comes over to my order and says in really B&*^y way, "that coupon is for minis and I told her she could only use one coupon!!!". The waitress very kindly told her that the coupon was for regular sized cupcakes and that I was paying for the other half. The manager then walked off with a hmph! My son was with me so I decided not to make a scene and also I didn't want to start my day off in a bad mood. I really enjoy their cupcakes so I was a bit offended by her attitude. My parents own their own bakery up in Dallas and they would never treat their customers like that. The waitress actually gave me sympathetic looks. My hope is that they have more communication with each other and stop making the customers feel bad.

Mmmm... We are still chipping away at the 2 dozen cupcakes we score last Saturday morning for $10 a pop! Early Saturday morning they posted on FB that "we have 5 dozen cupcakes that were jacked up" so they were selling them at $10 a dozen.. WELL, the early bird DOES catch the worm, because I called and wasn't sure how it was going to go down.. but the woman on the other end was SO friendly, and so happy to put my name on 2 orders & said "we go by the honor system, so just let me know when you think you're coming".. I was on my way! It was my 1st time hitting up Cupprimo, and I was just waiting for the opportunity to get over that way, and take advantage.. Score!!!!! I have a dozen chocolate w/ chocolate & they are MOIST and delicious. They are sweet, oh so thick and rich, but the moistness of the cupcake definitely is a plus!! I also have a dozen of the white cake with vanilla icing, and surprisingly, my family isn't too thrilled. They are vanilla junkies, I'm the choco-holic, but they think they are a bit too sweet, and the cake is just a tad dry. Don't get me wrong.. they're GETTIN eaten!! LOL But, for $20, it was a steal, and well worth it. I also ordered a separate cupcake because I love a good red velvet, and where it was MUCH better than Hey Cupcake RV, it wasn't anything Id go running back for either. A tad dryer and denser than I wanted, and ultra rich on the icing. So, I'm dying to try other flavors and other frosting, but that chocolate on chocolate is a winner!

There's nothing I dislike about Cupprimo, I just can't think of a reason why it would stand out from a dozen other coffee and cupcake places in town. It's a pleasant staff, the cupcakes are pleasant, and my coffee has always been pleasantly hot and black. I don't dispute those who rave about the lattes from here; I just personally avoid pussified coffee concoctions prettier than I am. But the reason I come here is their particular location and neighbors: After doing the food thing at Camino Real or Asia Café or Mr. Chen's, there actually isn't anything more pleasant than a leisurely stroll to a "coffee spot" afterward - and hey, that's exactly what this place is.

I've had their regular cupcakes several years ago really liked them a lot. Delicious. After needing to eat gluten free I came back with my mom to try their GF ones. I love sweet and sugary things but oh man, this cupcake I had to throw away the frosting was way way too sweet it hurt my teeth! My mom only took one bite as well. Yikes! I never ever throw dessert away what a bummer

Love, love, LOVE Cupprimo! This is such a cozy place with excellent customer service! I often come here to write in the mornings as the coffee beats the big chains as does the pricing. The decaf here is especially good which makes this mama-to-be happy. What makes me even happier are the GLUTEN-FREE CUPCAKES! They're always baked fresh using high quality ingredients and they taste heavenly. Just thinking about them makes me want to head to Cupprimo to indulge my cupcake craving...

I don't normally have a sweet tooth, but everyone in my house does. So on occasion I pick-up sweet snacks for my family. If I eat sweet treats, I do prefer cupcakes but I'm not a huge fan of icing. All that being said - I really enjoyed these yummy little cupcakes. Not only were they moist (without being too dense) but the icing was scrumptious and not overly sweet (I actually wanted to eat more of it!). Cupprimo has some really unique and wonderful flavors. They don't over-pile the icing (like some other cupcake places I know) but the icing that is there is fantastic. Every flavor I've tried has been a little party in my mouth. And, the cake is so good alone that if I'm not feeling like it's an icing kind of day, I scrape it off and give it to my kids (which they normally won't eat icing; but they will eat this stuff) and I'll eat the cake all by itself. :) As some other folks have mentioned, if you want the flavor of the day - don't show up before closing or you'll be disappointed. However - if you see the Primo Vanilla and think it sounds boring - give it a whirl. Despite how superb the other fab flavors are, the Vanilla has become my favorite. It's fluffy, delectable and makes me feel like a sweet guilt-free angel eating it. LOL Something so simple, yet special about this vanilla cupcake that keeps me coming back for more.

Meaty cupcakes for a good price, these are not your wimpy store bought cakes in a cup here. However a couple things disappointing me and really stuck. Firstly, while the cupcake was decently tasty, the cupcakes I picked up at HEB had way more moisture. Secondly, they didn't have a broad selection of flavors; even among those 4 or 5 flavors many were missing because I came in the late afternoon (I didn't think that would be a problem when it was still several hours before they closed...). When I asked the gal behind the counter if the gluten free cakes were tasty, she made a little sour face and said, "I guess. They're... different." Way to turn me off from buying more. The other reviews were correct that the staff was very rude. For such a cupcake crazy town, this was not the quality, moisture, and creativity that I was expecting. Oh well... I'll give them another try later int he month and update my review.

To date, this place is great. It's a little coffee/bakery shop that serves up some of the most delicious cup cakes I've ever had. I'm now back to my gluten free meal plan but boy oh boy, that red velvet cup cake I had with my cup of coffee was as savory as a whole red velvet cake ( and it was only a mini!). Definitely worth a stop in on your way to work, grab a specialty coffee, forget the Starbucks, and get yerself a free cup cake while your at it. Just don't come running to me when you become hooked and you end up buying a whole box of cupcakes for all your co workers from there ;D

We had a very good Groupon experience as well, so I felt like I needed to come and write about it, since I actually read the rules upon purchase. I always search review for companies before purchasing a groupon, and I'm glad I read them for this place as well. After reading the negative reviews, I understood that I needed to call 24 hrs in advance. It said it right on the page when you ordered, it was never trying to trick you. We needed 2 dozen, so my sister and I each bought one and went to pick them up together. These cupcakes were DELICIOUS! They were so unique and flavorful and added the perfect touch to our baby shower. I loved the array of flavors and the options that were given. The service was fine, no one was rude at any point of the experience, and everything went very smooth. Being such a small bakery running a long Groupon experience, I'm sure negative reviews are bound to happen (especially when the purchaser assumes too much), but I thought they did a great job and am so excited to buy future party cupcakes here.

I am on the fence about this review. The cupcakes are absolutely four star delicious; but, the service is less than stellar. I've been coming here for years now and almost wrote them a very negative review due to the last online Deal. When I called on Friday to redeem my coupon for a dozen cupcakes on Saturday for a party, they were too busy to take my cupcake order, but wouldn't give me an extension to redeem my Groupon--my groupon expired that Tuesday. I would have to get my cupcakes on Tuesday. Who needs a dozen cupcakes on Tuesday? I feel like they could have provided an extension because they couldn't fulfill their part. In any case, I really like the cupcakes here and have been back since the negative experience. I love the mini cupcake variety and havent had a bad one yet. The cupcakes are beautifully presented. The cream cheese icing is not too sweet and the cakes are moist, not oily. Aside from the coupon experience, my only complaint is that the service is a little slow. There is usually only one employee and if the person ahead of you is ordering a fancy drink it could be a bit of a wait.

Full disclosure - I have not actually had one of their cupcakes. The cup cakes are not what prompted me to write a review. I stop here for coffee. They do a great cup of coffee and the staff is really friendly even early in the am. It might be infectious because the am regulars are pretty happy to be there and seem to always be in a good mood. They might be high on cupcakes and caffeine...but hey....can you blame them. If you are coming out of Great Hills via Spicewood, you should consider stopping in for a cup of jo on your way out. Good family run coffee shop with a pleasant AM staff.

Amazing cupcakes and delicious coffee--would not go anywhere else. Love the creative flavors, and LOVE the mini sized cupcakes because you can get a bunch of bite size, different flavors to go--makes you the favorite person at the office, just saying. But what puts this place over all the competition, at least for me, are the people who run it. You can immediately tell you are in a place of business that cares about people when you walk in the door... from the family pictures on the wall, to the smiles on the faces of the people who greet you, to the owner who makes your coffee and asks about your kids... true, down to earth people who are not just serving coffee and cupcakes, but people who actually care who their customers are. Like the bartender at your favorite neighborhood bar... except cupcakes... and in the morning... and less intoxication in general--though they do have boozy cupcakes. :)

Before purchasing the Groupon for 12 cupcakes, I read the overall reviews to make sure it was a bust. It had good overall ratings (a few complaints about rude employees), so I went for it. So after reading the details to the Groupon, I decided to call in my order 2 days in advance (it says at least 24 hours notice). Don't see the big deal about this...some complaints here are all pissed cause they didn't get their order, when the instructions are as clear as can be. First experience: Super nice phone call answer, put in my order, gave all the details they needed, and asked a few questions about their cupcakes. Very good overall interaction throughout the entire call. I was a bit skeptical that, because it was a Groupon, my order would be half-assed (older cupcakes, dried out, reject flavors). It was a gamble that's for sure, but I went for it.....glad I did! When I got there at noon Friday (when I said I'd be there), my order was ready to go. Girl working the counter was very nice, showed me the cupcakes (which looked freaking amazing!), and gave me a rundown of the flavors. She also gave me a very helpful pointer of NOT refrigerating them before serving since they were baked fresh that morning and would dry out if refrigerated. I even called back and asked if it was OK to leave them out for a few hours...she assured me to just leave them in box, in a cool place and they'd be fine. Again, very nice and helpful when I called to ask. So when it came down to eating the cupcakes, they all tasted just as good as they looked...which was amazing. Not dried out at all, super moist....they were definitely not old cupcakes! Everyone in the party who had a cupcake loved them, so that was 10 different opinions, all were positive! Overall, cupcakes were great (both look and taste), experience with employees was as good as I could have asked for, and I will definitely be back in the future....as well as recommend them to others in the market for cupcakes.

To Nat P. - I don't think it's fair that you gave 3 Stars based on their decor, which just so happens to be their family. I'd hope that you would do the same if you had a family. Obviously, their cupcakes are something special if they were publicized on a major television network. I've tried the many cupcake shops around Austin, but these were moist and had just the right touch of sweetness. They deserve 5 stars alone for that and another 5 for their customer service. This, my friend, is a fair review. Try running a successful business like theirs. Good luck with that!

I looooooooove cupcakes; You can't feel guilty eating a mini cake, right? However, this experience was just "UGH!". We entered about 45 minutes before closing on April 21st, but the place looked cleaned and ready to shut down. This isn't really a problem until the employee that serves us ends up being rude and callous. To put the icing on the cake (haha! I love puns!), the cupcake (mine and my friend's) was drier than the grand canyon. I'm guessing the baker works Monday through Friday. Such a bummer because I really wanted a scrumdiddlyumptious snack.

I question their customer service. Didn't even get a chance to try the cakes. Bought a groupon went there but was denied because they had a 24 hr wait time. After reviewing the fine print I realized that it was stated about the 24 hr wait time. But it was my wife's birthday and I really wanted to get her something different. The girl said "sorry, we need to have some cakes left over for other people". The display case was full, how would a few cakes make that big of difference. And don't you build a customer base by serving every person. Sending away one to serve the many. Doesn't make sense. We ended up going HEB. Sad when you have to rely on big box for customer service. Changed this down to a one star after getting response from shop. Guess some people are just misguided.

The mini cupcakes were beautiful, delicious, and let me try several different flavors. My favorite was the smore, carrot cake, lemon berry, and pistachio lemon. The cake part was light and perfectly moist and the frosting was creamy and flavorful. The service was good, the decor cute (love the photos of the owner's family), and they have free wifi. The only reason it is 3 stars is because I came primarily for coffee, and it was kinda of gross. It tasted burned and unpleasant. I also wasn't a fan of the strawberry cupcake (it was a bit dry). But the cupcakes were mostly awesome! I would definitely return here to buy more cupcakes to share with friends!

I used to love to stop by this place when we lived in Austin I needed a treat. My favorites were the Blue Velvet and Strawberry, but I liked to try some of the more seasonal type flavors as well. Some are definitely better than others, but I think that's just what happens when you are creative. The strawberry is simply amazing....I don't know how you get that much fresh strawberry flavor into a cake. I've never had anything like it. And almond anything is on the top of my list, with the wonderful cream cheese icing even better. I bought a bunch of their cupcakes for my kid's birthday party, individual cupcakes for birthdays when we didn't have a party, bought as treats for teachers and therapists. It just doesn't get any better. The coffee is wonderful too.

My company was having an event and we wanted to get special cupcakes made. This place was near my job so I thought I would give them a try. I wish I had time to read more reviews before I ordered. I will say that everyone I spoke to was super nice they had great customer service. There were two main things that bothered me about this place. When I called to place the order I told the lady on the phone that we wanted our cupcakes to have designs in them. For our event. She assured me that they could do that. However when I picked them up they didn't have any kind of special design just like flags in the cupcakes with a bad print out of the logo of the event we were hosting. The other thing was just like other Yelpers said the cupcakes were super dry and too much icing. I don't plan on ordering from them again....

Gluten Free Cupcakes for the WIN! I usually come here for coffee, but was told that they had started making gluten free cupcakes. I was in too early for them, but figured I would come back. OMG! And I do not say that lightly. I just brought the cupcakes home and I HAD to try one and it was luscious and so much a cupcake. There is no gluten free caveat, it was AMAZING! I have tried the strawberry but I also have a chocolate to try later and I cannot wait! They offer two gluten free flavors and they change daily. If you are gluten free you need to...must try these amazing cupcakes. But eat sitting down so you don't fall over in shock.

Bought these 12 mini-cupcakes because of a coupon with LivingSocial.com , I guess I had a bad order because my cupcakes were awful. They were not soft and they tasted a little old. Pretty disappointed, do not recommend this place The order was quite a hassle and I guess I was getting the short end of the stick today but the lady was rude and pretty awful.

I was sorely disappointed in Hey Cupcake! so I was wary to try other cupcakes in town. But when I stumbled upon a Groupon for Cupprimo, I thought, hey, why not? I'm sure glad I did. Their chocolate icing is divine, it's like very soft fudge. My favorites, though, were the strawberry, red velvet, and carrot cake (I'm a sucker for cream cheese icing). The strawberry tasted like real sweet strawberries, not some fake flavoring. The red velvet was just moist and yummy.... and the carrot cake had little flecks of carrot and was perfectly spiced. I can't wait to try their other flavors... I wish they weren't closed today, or I would run on over! Luckily they are far enough away where I won't be tempted too often... bad for my waist!

LOVE the Blue Velvet! Never saw a blue cupcake before. Another fav is the strawberry. Also, the two girls that were working on 11/16/13 were hillarious. They should have their own reality show. I'd watch it while eating cupcakes.

I love Cupprimo. It's not really a place to sit around. It's a place to get a cupcake that's gonna put you in a happy, happy sugar coma and take it on the road. I like this place a LOT more than Hey Cupcake! If you want something delicious, this is the place. What cupcakes are available changes day to day, so check ahead to make sure there's something that strikes your fancy. I'm partial to the Chocolate Mint, the Brownie Sunday, and the Category 6. If you like Chocolate, the Category 6 will mess you up. In a good way.

My daughter wanted cupcakes from Cupprimo for her Breakfast at Tiffany's themed bridal shower. We live in far south Austin so I was not thrilled about making the drive all that way north just for cupcakes -- but I did it. I am so glad I did! The cupcakes were stunning and totally matched the photos I had given them. Not only that, but they were delicious as well! The favorite was the blue velvet with vanilla frosting. If you are having a special event, go to Cupprimo for attention to detail and a dessert your guests will love. Also, when I picked up the cupcakes I got a vanilla frappe. Bad idea as now I am craving them all the time!

This place is good for many reasons.... I miss Kimberly being her, she was an amazing person! But the girls that work here now are great, too. I am partial to their brownie cupcakes, brown chicken brown cow, and strawberry -it really tastes like strawberry!!! Yum :)

I did something really creepy today. I've been enjoying the (very limited but still appreciated) gluten free options they have available, but I've been dying to know how the rest taste. The GF red velvet is to die for and the GF chocolate on chocolate is good for chocolate (I don't like chocolate cake?), but I would give anything to get some of that snickerdoodle cupcake in my mouth. And I don't want to admit how much I'd debase myself for a bite of the razzle dazzle cupcake. So I bought a bunch of cupcakes for my coworkers and made them eat their treats in my office. While I watched. And made them describe everything about what they were eating. Considering I've been here for two weeks, it was a ballsy move but it paid off. Not only did every single person rave about what they were eating, but I'm now everyone's favorite coworker. Crowd favorites were razzle dazzle (I knew it!!), creme de menthe, and brown chicken brown cow. Thanks, Cupprimo!

I can't say I've embraced the gourmet cupcake trend. I make a mean cupcake (think Guinness chocolate cupcake, whiskied chocolate ganache filling and Bailey's frosting) so it's easy to understand why I was grossed out by the dry, boring cupcakes offered in the Austin area. Why would I spend so much money when I can make a better cupcake myself? Well today I had a craving for some sweets and didn't want to dirty my kitchen so I grabbed my little guy and a friend and we were on our way to Cupprimo. Tuesday's specials were the longhorn brownie cupcake, strawberry cupcake and coconut cupcakes, so we got them all, all mini sized. It's a good way to satisfy my flavor curiosity without having to buy a regular size of each. I know my gluten free friends also appreciate the fact that they offer a gluten free cupcake. I knew the husband would want some sweets too so I got a double chocolate to go in the cutest individual cupcake carrier. I must say, I was surprised by the quality and the taste of all the offerings. Must be the fact that they are made from scratch! Loved the fresh strawberry in the strawberry cupcakes, fresh coconut on the coconut, and the dense chocolate flavor in the longhorn brownie cupcake. The $1.99 latte was nice as well. Yum! Not only did I enjoy eating some simply delicious cupcakes, I was able to support a mom based business too!

Great, great, great, still. Love to drop in for a coffee and/or cupcakes with the kiddos. Recently special ordered Cookie Monster cupcakes based on a design I had in mind (and regular flavors of the day cupcakes) for my kid's birthday and Amy and team did not disappoint - simply adorable! BIG hit with the kids and adults. Great prices to boot. Cupprimo is our one-stop cupcake shop.

We stopped by Cupprimo last night after snagging some excellent cajun food just up the strip, and as always the service was super friendly. I wasn't sure which cupcake to choose, so asked the server what she would suggest between the two I was thinking about. She replied "It's Christmas. Have both!" and proceeded to offer both myself and my friend (who is a frequent customer of the shop) a choice of two cupcakes, and only charged each of us for one. The staff at this shop have never been less than welcoming and friendly - and in today's chain-dominated world, I'm delighted that local shops like yours still exist. I'd have given the lovely young lady a hug, but had just gotten over the flu :) I *will* be returning here, as the cupcakes themselves are this side of heavenly, and the staff all hide their wings very well. Great place - great food - great folks - and it's local. Sure you pay a little bit more than you wood at HEB or WalMart (aka The Place of Evil), but it's more than worth it. Thanks for making a visitor to your city's night.

2.5 stars. Ahh - I wish I loved this place. It's really cute inside and the location is great for us. Our family loves cupcakes so we went after dinner one night. We shared a red velvet and a strawberry cupcake. The red velvet was just unacceptable and really hard to eat. The cake was so dry and tasteless that my husband gave me a sour face after taking the first bite. The frosting was way too overpowering... cream cheese frosting is my favorite so it was really disappointing. The strawberry cupcake was much better. It was moist but again, the frosting was too sweet for us. My husband said the strawberry flavor was too strong for him but I thought it was acceptable. I guess from the reviews, some people like their cupcakes. We're just not one of those people.

I came in close to closing time on Saturday night. The employee there was more than cheery and patient with me (there was a line waiting behind me) as I made my choices. The vanilla cupcake I had was simple, moist, and sizeable, just as cupcakes should be. I definitely will be coming back again to try different flavors. As for the people who knock the location, I would say get over your bougie discomforts. It's in the suburbs, not at 12th and Chicon (where I know you would NEVER dare go unless it were the newly gentrified hipster place on the east side), and this is a local business, so cut them some slack. They are putting their efforts where it matters, which is in the cupcakes.

I absolutely love this place! My favorites are their chai latte (they use a high end chai to make it and it's delicious), the red velvet cupcake, the lemon cupcake with blueberry frosting and their friendly staff. Not sure what happened with other reviewers, but I've always found their cupcakes to be moist and the icing too. I've always had a great experience and will go back!

The owner contacted me almost as soon as my previous review went up, concerned about our experience. She offered free cupcakes if we came back in and tried again. That scores big points in my book. I haven't taken her up on her offer yet, but hubby did pick up some treats for me and the kiddos on Valentine's Day. They were yummy and made the kids smile. We will go back.

Discovered Cupprimo via Groupon. The photos of delicious looking cupcakes on their web page tempted me to stop by. It was hard to choose from the ten or so varieties available today, but I narrowed them down to four. The Red Velvet, Double Chocolate, Strawberry, and Chocolate Elvis. They did not disappoint.

Met the owner today which is how I found out. Great cupcakes. Not too sweet like some other places Ive had. The icing was great and everything tasted home baked. Got a cup of coffee that the girl at the counter suggested. It was a iced coffee with vanilla mocha, really good too, and she was really nice! Thanks again!

I'm sad to say that Cupprimo isn't what it used to be. I'm downgrading my previous review. We used to go very regularly and have turned several friends onto the place. I do still like their cupcakes but cannot handle the customer service anymore. Some of the women working here are nice (and they used to ALL be so lovely) but there are several who are so rude and dismissive. You end up feeling like you did something wrong for coming in and giving them business. Lately I have just gotten curt, dismissive responses if I ask a question. I came back to see if I was the only person with this complaint and was amazed to read how harsh the owner's responses are any time there is a bad review. It makes me cringe. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I know it must be very hard to see anything that isn't a stellar review for something you've likely poured your heart and soul into but maybe some of these reviewers have a useful point. Please bring back the feel good, neighborhood vibe. I feel awkward shopping here.

I can't get their lemon-berry cupcakes out of my mind. Or the Neopolitan cupcakes. Delicious and artfully executed. The frosting is sweet and light. I have enjoyed every cupcake I've tried from Cupprimo. Service has occasionally been lackluster, but other times has been exceptionally friendly and helpful enough to forget the poor experiences.

I went for the cupcakes and was pretty disappointed. The flavors sounded exciting, like the margarita for example, but flopped. They didn't have hardly any flavor at all. They are rather huge cupcakes but I felt like it was a waste of consumed calories because the cake was dry and heavy like a brick and the icing was gritty. With how good other area cupcake shops are this shop had better kick it up a notch. Also, the location is in a creepy usually desolate shopping center full of dollar stores and stuff. Not exactly the best place to treat yourself...blah.

I recently held a baby shower and wanted only the best for the guests. I tried the vanilla and strawberry cupcakes from sugar mommas and the carrot cake from Delish. Cupprimo was far superior and offered a go local discount of 5.00 off a dozen! They were a hit at the party! I highly recommend them!!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND! I purchased a FIVE dollar offer of mini cupcakes via Google Offer to try the place out. I placed my order 24 hours in advance as per the offer but could not make it to the store in time to pick them up. I called to find out when I could come back and make sure the order was there. Mind you, the order has been paid for already. I was told by an employee that I would have to email the owner, Amy, and tell her WHY I was not there in time and would might even have to write a nice post on YELP! on what a nice place this is. Really? So I emailed the owner and after 4 days without a response, I called the shop. As soon as I asked for Amy, I was hung up on. I called again from the same number and she pretended to be busy and put the phone down. After a minute or so of that she just hung up again. I called again this time from a different number and same result; she hung up 2 more times. I then called from a third different phone and asked for Amy; she pretended that the phone wasnt working saying "Hello, Hello, is someone there" then just quietly hung up the phone. Over a FIVE dollar order? I called Google Offers to request a refund and was promptly given one. Just because you were on the Food Network doesn't mean you are a great place. The other morning I strolled in right when they opened at 7am. I ordered my usual coffee and what do I see coming from the kitchen, fresh baked quiche. I am just so so about quiche, but it smelled like heaven, so I had to order a slice. Hands down, the best quiche I ever consumed. It had a golden brown top, crumbly pie like crust, delicious ham and bacon mixed in with the egg and it melted in your mouth. It was a symphony of goodness, nay, greatness. FYI, the coffee is still the best around. Awesome staff too!

I went for the Chocolate Elvis cupcake: a banana cupcake with peanut butter frosting topped with chocolate and a banana chip. As my girl Ina Garten says, "How bad could that be?" Welllllllll.... kinda bad. Verrrrry dry banana cake, covered in a much too sweet and thick layer of what could most generously be described as peanut-ISH. Blah. Disappointing. That said, it's near my neighborhood, the cupcakes all LOOK gorgeous (hello margarita), and the other reviews here have been overwhelmingly positive. I'm hoping future visits will write my experience off as a fluke.

Cupprimo is located in the ugliest strip mall in Austin. This strip mall does house the great Asian Cafe, though, which goes to show that you really can't judge a book by its cover. I stopped in today because I love cupcakes. They offer four standard flavors of cupcake, plus a rotating menu of specials. All cupcakes are priced at $2.50. I chose the most basic, a simple vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting, which they call "Primo Vanilla". The frosting is sprinkled with white sugar. The cupcake was average sized, perhaps a little bit smaller than average. It was very slightly dry and airy, but it had a very good flavor. I enjoyed the frosting, also. The cake reminded me of a simple white cake that my grandmother used to make with shortening, flour, eggs, milk, and sugar--basic and old-fashioned. I really did like the flavor. I just prefer my cakes to be more dense and moist, and not quite so light and airy. Other reviewers have pointed out that the prices seem expensive, and I agree that at some point, the size-to-cost calculation must come into play. Premium cupcake shops like Sprinkles serve a LARGE, dense and moist cupcake, for which they charge $3.00 or so. But those cupcakes are twice the size of the cupcakes on offer here--it makes you think that several of the people who have opened cupcake shops in Austin heard about the success of Sprinkles and decided to open a cupcake shop and charge a premium price, without ever visiting or researching the competitor's shop to see what all the fuss was about. For the quality and size of these cupcakes, they ARE indeed too expensive. I have reviewed three cupcake shops in Austin so far, and every time I review a new one, it gets one more star than the one before it: Hey Cupcake--1 star Polkadots Cupcake Factory--2 stars Cupprimo--3 stars At this rate, only two more cupcake shops will have to open before Austin finally has a cupcake shop to get excited about. I've heard that a shop called Delish is going to be opening on 3rd between Colorado and Lavaca, and I've seen photos of their cupcakes that look great, so I'm crossing my fingers now and hoping for the best.

Kicks the crap out of every other Austin cupcake place I've tried... and I've tried a LOT of them. Rotating flavors, mini sizes (so you can pretend you're not stuffing yourself) and fresh cupcakes!!! The coffee ain't bad, either!

Im a cupcake person and was very disappointed with this place. Cupcakes are very dry and icing had bland taste. Ive been to this place two times and both times been disappointed.

I can't come here often because OMG YUM. I *love* sweets but have to control myself. These cupcakes have a great flavor. I love the vanilla. Not so sweet that they overwhelm you, a full size cupcake is a delicious treat and two (or three!) of the minis are just right. If you're in the area (shopping a big lots, perhaps?) and need something to lift your spirits, I highly recomment Cupprimo. Delicious!

This place was a nice find. My best friend and I had been over at the chinese restaurant a few shops over, and we were walking back to the car. I realized that this place had been on cupcake wars, and I definitely wanted to check it out. Because it was so late at night they were having a deal, so of course my friend and I took it up. The cupcakes were pretty good. The icing wasn't too sweet, and the cupcake wasn't dry, but it didn't have the moistness that I look for. The flavors were pretty unique ,which is definitely a plus.

Got a box of mini-cupcakes to check out a bunch of different flavors without completey falling off the wagon.. Lol I got vanilla, carrot, white chocolate raspberry, strawberry, lemon and blue velvet Cupcakes were very fresh and moist with some great flavors. My favorite by far was the blue velvet( its their version of a wedding cake- almond flavored) I could eat one of these cupcakes a day and not have a care in the world.. It was amazing! Icing was a perfect flavor/texture and had the right amount of sweetness without over-doing it If you go there you must try this one!!! The others were great as well, but this was the one I enjoyed the most! Customer service was good, very friendly and patient Dont forget to check-in to get a free mini-cupcake!!

I've passed by this place many times and finally decided to poke my head in. The mini "Elvis" cupcake I got had the right balance of sweet and salt, but lacked the moistness I would expect. I've only had one thing here but I find it hard to justify the price, I'll have to come back at another time and try a couple more. Edit: I got this mini cupcake for free by checking in on yelp, so if you are on the fence about it (as I was) you can try before you buy. The young woman who served me was friendly and accommodating.

What sets this cupcake shop apart from other cupcake shops is that they don't put 3 inches of frosting on top of their cupcakes like so many out there do. My daughter's favorite is their blue velvet cupcake, which really is divine. I had the carrot cake flavor & liked it a lot too. They have espresso coffee machine too so can make all the foo foo coffee drinks. Love supporting this local business.

I love this place. Now, while I am not the biggest fan of their coffee (but I'm picky so don't worry about it!) I ADORE every cupcake I have ever tried here. My favorite is the blue velvet (delicious, high class almond goodness with super rich frosting!). I also love Italian cream cake, strawberry, thin mint, red velvet, and lemon. They are all delicious and fresh. You can also buy cupcakes that are gluten free and frosting-less. And if you can't make up your mind what big cupcake to get they have Itty bitty ones!

Cupprimo has been a life saver. I am a busy mom and want to serve cute cupcakes for showers and my kids' birthday parties, but I just don't have the time to invest with all of the other hosting duties. This is where Cupprimo has earned a spot in my contacts list. They sell a delicious, consistent product at a fair price, and I have always experienced excellent service. I never need to worry about my order (which is a blessing because I have enough to worry about when hostessing). To top it all off, they have a delicious gluten free cupcake that must be clearly marked because I would never know the difference! The last party I hosted, they even customized the cakes for my Mickey Mouse obsessed 3 year old. Sure, I can make my own cakes but see no need to when I have Cupprimo. :)

I got the white chocolate frappe and it's the best coffee I've found around here. The girl who helped me was super friendly. It just has a good vibe.

Delicious cupcakes and very friendly staff. This shop was featured on cupcake wars and you can tell. They do have your everyday normal chocolate and vanilla cupcakes but also a large selection of creative flavors. My favorite so far has been the peanut butter cupcake with melted chocolate in the middle. Extremely delicious. Indoor seating is available though rather limited. The mini cupcakes are a bargain!

I got cupcakes for Father's Day and this place still consistently delivers. Those Reese's cupcakes are ridiculously good...they should be outlawed due to their awesomeness.

Hands down my favorite Austin Cupcakery. Forget Hey Cupcake and take yourself to Cupprimo... And get the blue almond cupcake, you'll thank me later!

*2.5 stars rounded up because the worker was really friendly and explained everything so well to us.* Cupprimo's cupcakes are a little too sweet and a little too dry. I can see why it did not advance/win on cupcake wars. It has some interesting flavors, such as blue velvet (vanilla, almond, sour cream cupcake), snickerdoodle, and orange mimosa. It serves some basic staples while adding specials into the rotation depending on the day of the week. The portions are generous, and because the batter was too dense and muffin-like, 1 cupcake was more than enough for me. Honestly, I can make better cupcakes, and so are the cupcakes from HEB. Cupcakes should be airy and fluffy, and the icing shouldn't be overly thick and heavy, regardless if it's a whipped cream or cream cheese icing. Sure, cupcakes can sometimes be tricky; I get it. But considering this IS a cupcakery, and it uses the same recipes day in and day out, there really shouldn't be an excuse for CC to be serving dry, dense, and overly sweet cupcakes. Instead of coming here, you should try Sugar Mama's Bakeshop. It's hands down the best cupcake shop in Austin to date.

I came here after hearing it was on cupcake wars. I had high hopes that were sadly not met :-/ I ordered a half dozen cupcakes The blue velvet, longhorn brownie, oreo blast, chocolate elvis, double chocolate, and strawberry. The blue velvet tasted kind of bitter and sour, and the frosting was hard as a rock. The longhorn brownie was very good though and so was the chocolate elvis. The others were just "ok" except they all seemed to have hard frosting. I may come back and give it another try, but there are other cupcakes that taste better. P.S the coffee is great here though, and the lady helping me was very nice :)

This has become my go-to cupcake shoppe, hands down! The cupcakes go toe-to-toe with any other brand name cupcake place out there and I would argue, probably top some of the other ones I've tried. I now buy all of my cupcakes from Cupprimo for any birthday parties or special occasions. This place is locally owned, very reasonably priced, offers gluten free options, has the friendliest staff, and on top of great cupcakes, has awesome coffee too. You can't go wrong with the assortment of a dozen mini cupcakes for $11! My favorite cupcake hands down is the choco salt. I have never tried anything like it and I'm never going back to plain chocolate again. Stop by, you won't be disappointed.

If you are new to Northwest Austin go to this hidden gem on Spicewood Springs and 183. I've been coming here a couple times a week and it is an awesome place to get some paperwork done and take a break from that Austin heat. If you spend longer than thirty minutes here you will see that this is no "hidden gem" to the locals. There is a revolving door of regulars; and it is obvious they love the place. If you are living in Northwest Austin and haven't had a coffee or cupcake (if that's your thing) from Cupprimo, make it a priority. The atmosphere for studying is much more relaxing than Starbucks, with a nice sized work surface in front of the picture windows if you are by yourself. Seating outside, and refreshing cool air conditioning in the inside. I can't vouch for the cupcakes, but their coffee and atmosphere were enough to give me something to talk about!

If you don't like delicious cupcakes and coffee, don't come here. That's all they have. Friendliest staff ever & crazy good cupcakes. Aww, you're gluten-free? No problemo! What I always get are the minis. A dozen for $10. Yes, really. That way you get a great assortment and they're practically guilt free...unless you eat the whole dozen anyway...which is fine too if you ask me! The only thing to watch out for are their open hours. They say they're open until 9p, but they'll close without warning when they're sold out. So, I recommend calling ahead if it's getting late.

The frozen blended coffee and tea drinks we devoured were made very well. and the elvis cupcake made with banana bread with a peanut butter donut on top that was covered in chocolate with one piece of banana chip stuck in the top...was even better...and dare i say the Elvis cupcake has left building???

I got the chocolate, caramel and sea salt cupcake (known as something fancy). It was super tasty. I loved the flavors. My only complaint is that the cake was a little dry. I love that they have little bitty cupcakes for my son. The staff here was super friendly!

Another review from me of something sugary! Are you shocked? ;-) I really do eat a balanced diet you guys, I promise. *crosses fingers behind back* My sweet tooth called me again today and I felt like trying something new. My husband is actually the one who found this place. Upon browsing their website, he saw they were on Cupcake Wars which made him even more excited to try it. He picked them up so while I didn't go in person, I did reap the benefits of enjoying their goodies at home in my work clothes, aka pajamas. I wanted the Blue Velvet because while I adore the flavors of Red Velvet, I do not like chocolate cake. I know! This cupcake is instead a vanilla, almond, and sour cream cake but still has cream cheese icing. They topped it off with cute blue, green, and tiny snowflake sprinkles. I loved it! The only negative thing I would say about it was that the texture of the icing had gotten a bit crunchy. If this cupcake was handed to me freshly iced, it would have been sublime. My husband said the icing on his Nutella Surprise cupcake was the same. Both had great flavor though so we will for sure be back. I also want to try their coffee drinks, especially the ice blended Frappuccino knockoffs. There were a few pictures other yelpers had posted of them online that looked divine.

Wow...How could I forget this review???...Im actually shocked!!...Well this is by far the Best of the Best for us so far...and Im not saying that because of the whole TV appearance, but I do watch the show...and you have to admit, you HAVE to be good to make even past the first round!!...Biggest thing for us...cupcakes were very moist, size vs. frosting ratio was spot on...Nothing overly sweet or sour...every flavor complements the next...Both of use just LOVED the Choc A Salt...Perfect combination!!...My Flavor of choice Lemon Raspberry!!!...And it was just awesome...perfect combo...and lucky for me...wife is not a Lemon fan...So it was ALL MINE!!...Reeses RipOff was just that....Was a Big hit for both of us..Peanut butter filling was really good...The mini double chocolate was a bit to sweet for the wife...but I loved it!!...We WILL be Back for sure...so many to try!!!

I've been craving cupcakes for a while and have had this place on my list of places to check out. My main problem is these cravings usually happen during my lazy "cheat day" Sundays when Cupprimo is closed. So you can imagine my excitement when I was able to convince my fiance to try this place out with me on a random Tuesday evening. I had it in my mind that I was going to get a nice big strawberry cupcake, and he was going to go for the Nutella! Once we got inside and saw the selection, however, our plans changed. We decided to go for the mini cupcakes so that we could get a nice selection of different flavors. 6 mini cupcakes would have been more than enough for us since neither of us has a super big sweet tooth, but they just so happened to be running a deal that day that we could get 12 mini cupcakes for the price of 6. What the heck. We just jumped right in!! Our selection was: 3 nutella, 3 brownies, 2 vanilla, 2 strawberry, and 2 double chocolate. Let me preface by saying we don't eat that much dessert and we generally eat fairly healthy, so our tastebuds may be a bit skewed. But these cupcakes were just sooooooo sweet. Like almost too sweet. Especially the chocolate ones. It took us the course of about 3 days to finally finish them off. The favorite between the two of us was the strawberry. Overall, they were good, but it will probably be a little while before we get that kind of craving again. I may stop in sometime to check out the different coffee options, though!

Came here after having delicious dinner at one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, Asia Cafe! This cupcake store was also featured on an episode of Cupcake Wars so I wanted to try it out! They have a lot of unique flavors and different varieties including vegan and gluten free! My friends and I got the red velvet, blue velvet, chocolate, and orange mimosa! I think the orange mimosa was my favorite because of the tangy flavor infused with alcohol that made it not that sweet! The red and blue velvet were good as well and i think the chocolate is great for chocolate lovers but a little too sweet for me. I think these cupcakes are good, but not the best in Austin! They are a little dry and too sweet for me. However, the size of the cupcake is worth the price. If you check in here you also get a free mini cupcake!
