So I was excited to try this place because people had said really good things. I walked in and was told to take a seat anywhere. There were not many people there at the time and most tables needed wiping down. I sat down at a clean table. 10 minutes later the waitress comes out and asks if I am meeting anyone. I said no and she told me I would have to move to a different table because where I was sitting was for groups. She walks over to a booth and says I'll wipe it down then left. At this point I left. I sat where I wanted at the only table that had been wiped down and was told to move. There are other restaurants in town where they keep tables clean and aren't rude when you sit down. To respond to what the person from the restaurant said: You are misstating what happened and I do not appreciate that. I sat down at one of the only clean tables. It was a big table but it was CLEAN. I was told I was not allowed to sit there and told to sit at a booth. I stated I did not want to be sat at a booth because they all needed to be clean and are very tall. Most of the tables needed to be wiped down. I was treated very rudely by the waitress and now by you. I will not be back and am telling the people I know about my experience. A little kindness to customers goes a long way. This is not the only place to get pizza in the area.

Giordanos is my favorite Chicago pizza of all time and this comes VERY close. When you go give a shout out to Cindy. She was attentive and extremely friendly. I will definitely be back.

Ok I have to commence this review by saying that the women employed at this establishment were extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant was half full, not too busy. We started out by ordering fried mushrooms. Yes they were hot and fresh but very tasteless. Even the ranch on the side could not salvage them. We ordered a small deep plain cheese and a large deep with various toppings. The wait was about 50 min on the pizzas Once the pizzas came , we dove in like a pack of wolves. There was not an immediate reaction of "oh it's so good ". We started becoming critical. Now the sauce and cheese were good , however the crust that is supposed to be the main component of the pizza, the daddy of it , tasted like dry crackers. There was no moisture in the crust whatsoever. We gobbled up what we could but left disappointed. We have a lot of leftovers and I feel sad that I didn't like the pizza too much because the ladies serving us were so lovely that a part of me feels bad, but not too bad to be honest.

First time here but definitely not the last. The pizza pie's are awesome just have to allow 40 to 45 to cook well worth the wait. Staff is nice and friendly clean restaurant.

We tried this joint out the other night when we were craving a pizza. I have been wanting to try chicago style pizza and never have had the opportunity. My husband and I were excited to stumble upon this place. The location is a little difficult to find at first. I used my GPS and it got me to the general location but I had to drive around a little more because the outside sign was misleading. The server was extremely sweet and told me all about the different styles of pizza they offered. We obviously wanted the chicago style. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time, or call ahead, because it takes around 45 minutes to make. While we waited we munched on a large order of garlic sticks. So good! It was so delicious that we didn't have much of an appetite when the HUGE pizza came out. We each barely made it through a slice. The Chicago style can feed four to five people! Everything was delicious. We will order ahead next time so when we come into the restaurant the pizza will be ready :) Cool pizza joint!

It was very difficult getting my wife to go out for pizza but after eating here she can't wait to return!!! The staff was very friendly, ask for Suzana. She was as great as the food. Pro tip: call in order, deep dish takes 45 min and it's definitely worth it!

Gonna leave this haiku that describes our pizza while I am on my short lunch break. Do call ahead like others have suggested if you don't feel like waiting. Also, Cindy, our waitress, was fantastic and we'll definitely be back with our friends. Saucy like my bae Cheesier than pick up lines Deeper than this haiku

Wife and I split a small sausage and mushroom deep dish and were pleasantly satisfied. Neither one of us were starving, so we only ate half. Plenty of red sauce on top, lots of cheese in the middle. Service was great, refills were provided. Leftovers were packaged nicely. Sidewalk dining looks comfortable. The sandwiches look really good and are reasonably priced. I'll be back next week to try them. $17 value wines (Cannonball, etc) $3.50 bottled beers

Just moved here from Chicago and was craving a deep dish pizza like Lou's and an Italian beef dipped like Portillo's. It lives up to my expectations and our hostess and waitress Suzana was excellent. Talkative, attentive, and outgoing. Excellent experience and atmosphere. But, no Chicago dogs on the menu! What's up with that? :) Will definitely be back!

This place was amazing! My wife and I have been looking for "real deal" deep dish pizza and this place nailed it! Our server Suzana was really polite and nice! She was always available and made sure our drinks were full. The only tip I would provide would be to call ahead and order your pizza - it's totally worth the wait, however if you don't have the time to wait 45m for pizza, simply call ahead. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the interior decor, however, that's not too big a deal since the pizza was incredible! I definitely recommend this place for those looking for legit Chicago Style Deep Dish!

TIP: Call ahead ordering available for deep dish, takes about 40 min to cook (typical for Chicago style). Tucked away off Midway, this is a bit of hidden location so you might miss it if you aren't paying attention when driving by. Ordered the sampler appetizer which comes with: Wings - cooked well, nice and crispy, but no sauce - no beuno. Even a little salt and pepper or something would have taken those to the next level. Fried ravioli - not bad, but could have been frozen. Didn't feel fresh. Overall meh on ravioli. Fried cheese - not quite warm enough making it a bit hard to enjoy. Also not enough marinara. Fried mushrooms- best thing on the plate. Served with a very small about of marinara and sub par ranch. On the to the pizza... The main star. Huge, warm, gooey, delicious. The middle of the pizza had a little bit of a soggy crust, but I took some of the outer crust to eat with the middle bites. Great sauce to cheese to crust ratio. We were just in Chicago 3 weeks ago, this place is legit. Will go back (and try a different appetizer though). Waitress was very attentive, excellent service from Cindy.

Service is great, the girl behind the counter was friendly and kept refilling our drinks. With not enough time for a deep dish pizza, we both got Italian beef sandwiches. They were good, though I kept comparing it in my mind to a Philly cheesesteak. And I definitely prefer the Philly version. We're heading to Chicago next week, so I'll have an authentic Italian beef to compare, but for now I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and call it 5 stars, and I'll definitely be back for the pizza.

Deep dish pizza here was tasty. I agree with what another reviewer said, the tomato sauce is a little odd tasting. It's very sweet and reminds me of chef boyardee ravioli sauce from a can. I prefer a more chunky, fresher tasting sauce. Other than that, the pizza was great. They used fresh mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, olives, garlic, and pepperoncini peppers. The pizza was piping hot when it came and very filling. We were stuffed after one piece each (we ordered a small btw, so that was only half the pizza). Will come again.

Wow! Very impressed with how good the pizza taste! WARNING: the deep dish pizza takes 30-40 minutes to bake. however, you can order ahead of time so that you don't have to wait. I had the spinach and pepperoni with jalapeños. You obviously make it how you want so almost any combo you will more than likely be good. The dough is really good. Not too thick and very consistent. I will come back with friends.

Absolutely the best deep dish pizza anywhere in Dallas. Call ahead to order it if you want to dine in because it takes about an hour if you just walk in, but it is well worth the wait!! Our waitress, I believe her name was Christie, was the most attentive without being annoying waitress I have had in a long time. Our glasses were never empty. She was a doll. We highly recommend this tucked away spot. Take the time and give it a try. You will not be sorry! The prices were surprisingly reasonable too. Great experience and we will defiantly be back.

This is the best pizza you can get in Dallas. I always get the deep dish with pepperoni and sausage, it's like $20 for a large two topping. Soooo much topping on my pizza! There's so much meat that the pepperoni are layered on top of each other. (You can easily find 3 pepperoni slices stacked together) One slice = one meal. You get incredible bang for your buck. It's a way better deal than any other pizza chain I've been to. My pizza has so much body for a lot less than the "upscale" pizza places. In my opinion, better than Picasso's, Boston's, and BJ's. The first time I came in I was surprised how ritzy the deco is for a pizza place. Will be coming back for my pizza fix for sure! Oh and a side note, it is a bit on the salty side (I think for me because of how much cured meat is in it) so those that are watching their salt... well you shouldn't be eating pizza anyway haha.

So here's the deal, if you leave this place hungry - you're a fool. I had the unlimited toppings deep dish and my friend got the house pasta. Both were seriously two of the best Italian dishes from a ma and pa I've ever had. Even the house salad was amazing and so fresh. My deep dish will last me for 3 meals easily. And that's just for the small! So bring a big appetite or go home. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is it's a little hard to find and it takes a while for the deep dish. Other than that - the food is easily a 5. Call ahead and they'll have it ready for you when you arrive - your food that is. It took 35 minutes to cook my deep dish. All my coworkers got their meals within 15 minutes though. Probably a better take out place than dine in. But amazing and literally one of the best deep dish places in DFW.

This all started with me making a friend from Chicago who frankly won't ever stop talking about Chicago food in general. Although he himself is a fan of thin crust, he can't help but to love the deep dish that is so synonymous with the city. So, I am not a deep dish expert by any means. This is just my Texas-born taste buds talking. We came on a Friday evening 5pm-6ish and there was no one there and I was really surprised. Clean and the waiter was very nice, professional and attentive and told us bit about the place. App: Fried mushrooms and "toasted" aka fried ravioli. Okay, tasted like fried mushrooms and fried ravioli. Nothing too special. Deep dish: pepperoni, italian sausage, double garlic, mushroom, and black olive. Very good. Again, I'm not from Chicago so I don't have a lot to compare it to but it wasn't soggy (huge concern) and it wasn't just all bread (it was more like a really awesomely stuffed pizza). The crust was great and again, it wasn't too much. The inside was filled with so much cheese and the top was all smothered with sauce. Just thinking about it last night makes me crave it again. Since we had two apps I could only eat one slice before we got a togo box. The box was soooo heavy and made me giggle since it was like 2 lbs. I had a slice today for leftover and heated it up in the microwave and again, it was sooo good and satisfying. I hope this place does great and I can help drum up some business for them. I would hate to see this place fail. We really don't have a lot of deep dish places in the big D. Takes about 40 mins for the deep dish so bring someone interesting to chat with.

My family visited Taste of Chicago Saturday night. Although my husband doesn't care for deep dish pizza, I still wanted to try it. Our waitress forewarned us of the 45mins wait...something I failed to remember reading here on Yelp. To hold us over, we ordered 12 wings (six plain & six bbq). I was not expecting the plain wings to be, uh, plain without any sauce. Both wings were good but I actually preferred the plain. After we finished our wings, we continued to wait on our small italian sausage deep dish pizza. During the wait, our waitress only checked on us 1-2 times. Finally, our pizza arrived. I absolutely loved the pizza. My husband, as expected, didn't care for it while my son said it was good but not worth the wait time. Although we only ordered a small one topping pizza, we still managed to bring half of it home. We will definitely return but will probably skip the deep dish. If I can talk my husband into wanting the deep dish, I will definitely call ahead next time.

I love pizza... like LOVEEEE pizza. It's going to be my last meal ever love and there's nothing I love more than Chicago-style pizza. Problem: I live in Dallas :( Taste of Chicago solves that problem. HOORAY! It takes a second to find since it's tucked away behind a strip of restaurants. Don't get discourage, it's worth it. Decor is simple... nothing fancy. Their focus: make really really good pizza. We started off with the garlic bread (a must since we didn't call ahead and get our pizza ordered before... it takes 45 minutes, noted for my next trek out to ToC). Man, the garlic bread and the sauce got me really excited about what the actually pizza will be like. The service was super friendly... I think that they sometimes forget about checking-in with patrons since the wait for the pizza is really long but being popular is a good thing and we never felt neglected. Now the pizza. True Chicago pizza... cheese in the middle, sauce on top. Not deep dish that's just bready but authentic. I had a smile on face for two days (having leftovers helped with this). We got a veg-medley: bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, jalepenos. Stretchy mozzarella cheese, sauce was great.. For 3, we got a small and it was more than enough. If you've never had true deep-dish pizza, you must go. If you are missing the good times in Chicago, you must go (pizza cures all). Really just go. You'll see me there... eating my pizza right away because I remembered to call ahead :)

I visited this restaurant hopes against a original Chicago style pizza. If you love Cheese and a Soggy bottom this is the place. I ordered a small 10 inch unlimited topping veggie pizza and to say the least it was not full of vegetables I read some of the previous reviews saying that they didn't use enough toppings but the person didn't order unlimited toppings. so I decided to go all in and get unlimited veggie. The first bite was good, but by this time I was finished with the first slice it was leaking Through the bottom.a waste of 22.50... Respond to owner Please do not lie you took my order by phone and said nothing of the sort. You do not even 10 veggies to choose from.

TIP: Call in ahead for the deep dish so there's no wait when you arrive TIP #2: Get a small thin crust cheese for free with order of a large deep dish Decor: 4/5 -Comfortable seats parties of 8 -Choice of booth or table Service: 5/5 -Call in or order at the counter -Deep Dish takes about 35-45 minutes depending on how busy they are Food: 4/5 -The large deep dish comes with 8 slices. They also allow you to have half and half toppings. -Appearance: Not as deep/tall as a traditional deep dish however one slice is super dense and filling. -Taste: Lots and lots of cheese. Butter oozes from the crust. Depending on which toppings you get, it can be a bit salty. The thin crust cheese was surprisingly delicious. The crust wasn't as crispy as I'd like though. -Value: Excellent deal for a large pie. Split between 7 adults and you'll be content and happy you spent less than $3.60 each incl tip.

I lived in Chicago for awhile before I moved to Texas. This place is great. Its no Giordanos or Edwardos...but its the best chicago style pizza in the DFW area. A small size can easily feed two people...its huge and heavy. Lots of great quality cheese and toppings. My only compliant is that the pizza doesnt warm up well. I think they put a thin layer of dough in between the cheese and sauce. It becomes weird when you try to warm it up the next day. But, a fresh one of these babies? DELISH!

I ordered a deep dish on 4/30 at 6 PM. Pizza was just OK, if at that. Pros: Good size and weight. Cheese and sauce were very tasty Cons: Service - counter guy had an attitude. When ordering, I was told 40-45 minutes, I showed up at 6:50 and it wasn't handed to me until 7:03 PM. As he handed me the box, hot grease leaked out on my shirt. The guy said that since I ordered too many toppings, that is what causes that. The order was a large 1/2 Peperoni, Italian Sausage and Mushrooms, 1/2 Bacon, Black Olives and onions. Ingredients - The crust was under cooked. It was like a bread bowl. The crust should have been baked a bit longer. The mushrooms were canned. The dispersion of the toppings were lacking as they were not evenly distributed. They were just dropped in clusters as if the prep was hurried. The sauce was too watery and it seemed like it was just Contadina mixed with some herbs, Conclusion - It was not worth the $23 I spent on one pie.

Since I am one of the founding fathers of the We Don't Go North of 635 Club I very rarely go North of LBJ unless I visit my parents or go to The Boiling Crab, Noodle Wave or Tokyo One. However, I am proud to say that one more exception has been added to my short list of places to visit North of 635. Drum roll please....it gives me great pleasure to put the Danny D stamp of approval on Taste of Chicago in Addison. Since Dallas has ZERO Chicago Deep Dish Pizza I had to do it. This place is hands down the best I could find in the metroplex.

I normally prefer thin crust pizza ... but the deep dish pizza here is greatness and has kept our group of 4 coming back here for the last 6+ Friday lunches. Really delicious. However, be warned, if you have limited time, phone ahead, as it takes a long time to bake that goodness. The atmosphere here is casual and Suzana is always chipper and on the ball.

I've seen this place a hundred times. I finally went in for lunch a month ago and I've already been back two more times. The Italian beef sandwich is freaking awesome with hot peppers and cheese. I get the Au Jus on the side. The lunch deal comes with fries and a drink. They even make a sub with Italian Beef and Sausage, which I had today. It has a ton of beef on top of a whole link of Italian sausage. I love this sub. One of the best sandwiches in North Texas. They also have a Philly and a Chicken Parmesan sandwich, which I will be trying next week. Give this place a try... you will not be sorry if you like a good beef sandwich. The staff was very nice, and my waitress Cindy was especially polite and friendly. Sincerely, Ben W.

we went when they're fairly new I think?....went with office coworkers so time was limited to 1 hour....we had no idea we would have to order the deep dish 40+mins in advance so we couldn't have that......everyone just order regular pizza and it was ok but nothing too special....we had to wait about 25mins or so for the pizza to come out maybe it was b/c they are still new and trying to get used to the operation I'm not sure but some coworkers left kinda disappointed. I thought the pizza / price / service was ok....3 stars with a lot of room for improvement prob. will wait a bit before going back so they can work out the kinks in operation.

I lived in Chicago for 21 years and KNOW "Chicago style"pizza. I'd say (so far) this is the only spot in Texas that has replicated the original deep dish style pizza. You need to call about 45min in advance, unless you don't mind the wait. I think they offer very fair prices as well and have a perfect menu which isn't overwhelming. I'm definitely going back, luckily I don't live close to their location because I would have gained a few lbs by now! :-)

Being from Chicago I was hopeful that this place would delivery, and unfortunately for me it just didn't. The deep dish pizza was fine, but the cheese was kind of a weird texture and I felt like it was really missing a punch of flavor. We also ordered a thin crust and it wasn't anything special either. Just some okay pizza. I think my favorite part of the meal was the mozzarella sticks. The people are really nice and our server was great but based on the food experience I won't be back. It just doesn't live up to a true Chicago pizza.

Tried this place for the first time last night. We'll be back, but need a bigger appetite! We were a little hesitant after pulling up and seeing this place hidden in a strip center with office suites and restaurants, right behind what appears to be a cheesy sports bar. But we weren't going to turn around at this point! So we enter and sit in a booth (it's also not a large place). While reading the menu, we learn that the deep dish pizza takes 40 minutes to cook (we obviously didn't read previous yelp reviews!). So we decide to order some mozzarella sticks and a bottle of wine (super low price on a bottle, mediocre wine), while we waited for our pepperoni, Italian sausage, and mushroom deep dish pizza. When in Rome right! My husband and I split the small and when it came out our eyes got so huge. This was intense pizza! Covered in so much chunky red sauce, and stringy cheese for days! The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside, without being rock hard throughout. It was my first deep dish pizza, so unfortunately I don't have much to compare it to. But I'll definitely be going back for another! The service we received was top notch. Really sweet bubbly waitress. She even pointed out that next time we could call ahead and not have to wait as long. Very helpful, and we will see you soon!

Not sure why everyone says this is amazing. I just wasted 35 mins driving here and waiting for an average pizza (thin crust)which of course was brought to our table after the table next to us and we were sitting there 10 mins before they showed up. Don't waste your time unless you already live in this neighborhood. Wont be back, I can get average pizza right down the street from me, it's called frozen pizza from Wal-Mart.

I'm glad I finally got to try Chicago pizza. This place was definitely worth the drive. I would recommend you call 45 mins ahead of time so it will be ready once you arrive. A small pizza made my wife and I full for the whole day. I look forward to eating here again soon.

The pizza here was actually pretty good as my wife and I ate here on my birthday last week. This place got SLAMMED after we ordered our food and it took 75 minutes for us to get our order to the table. To be fair, they told us it would take 50 minutes to get my pep, sausage, and black olive deep dish but they were very understaffed. We also sat closer to a table in the middle of the line to order and ended up feeling claustrophobic as people were hovering around us while we were seated. They need more space as well. The food justifies the bigger space since it has good food. The waitresses were flying around like Iron Man trying to ease tension as you could tell that customers were upset. Folks, there is a SILVER LINING with this place though. The pizza tastes great, bottom line (lots of grease and probably not healthy for you but that's another story). If they fix the staffing issue, this place would be much better! I may have had another experience if I didn't go on a Saturday but you really should have to go on another day to get better service. I will give them another shot to get it right because the food was on point.

Amazingly delicious deep dish pizza!! I was in The mood for some deep dish pizza similar to Giordano's in Chicago. After reviewing the ratings on Yelp, I decided my husband and I should give it a try. What a great find!!! I appreciate other reviewers who recommended calling ahead to order since the pizza takes so long to cook. I called earlier that afternoon (Thursday) and told them we would be in around 7:30pm and when we got there around 7:45 it was ready. I was a bit nervous because we were 15 minutes late after getting the kids settled with the sitter. They literally called to check on our reservation as we were walking in the door. My husband was concerned our pizza would be cold (and I was too), but it was piping hot!! I almost burned my tongue because I was so excited to eat! The pizza was EXCELLENT. We had a medium deep dish with pepperoni and Italian sausage. By far the best deep dish pizza in Dallas. We have tried two other "Chicago pizza" places and they don't come anywhere close to Taste of Chicago. I also don't like that some places confuse deep dish and thick crust. Not the same!! As another reviewer mentioned, it was just the right balance of dough and the dough was delicious too. Suzana, our server, as others have mentioned was attentive and very friendly. Great customer service, which is so important for me! You can't have great food without great service. Thanks Suzana! You rock!! My husband and I will DEFINITELY be back. His comment was, "great choice!" at the end of our meal since this was my pick for our date night. :-) The restaurant itself is very simple and understated. There were three other tables/parties there that night, so not crowded at all. They do have 3 large televisions, but we were more interested in the food. I highly recommend Taste of Chicago. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for awesome deep dish pizza.

This was the best deep dish pizza I have ever had, hands down. My wife had the same response. We started off with the Garlic Cheesy Breadsticks and a Chicken Alfredo to share since the deep dish takes a while and it was New Years Eve. Both of those were good, but it was the pizza that sealed the 5-star review. We will definitely be back, very soon. My only negative was that there was one server working the entire restaurant and the to-go's, and almost every table was full when we arrived. I gave benefit of the doubt since it was New Years Eve and hope there is another server next time. Even though it was one person, they did a great job handling it and accommodating all of the customers. Happy 2015!!

It was delicious!! We ordered a medium size deep dish pizza for two adults and a child. But we couldn't finish all. As advised by other Yelpers, we called ahead and carried out. And we ate at a nearby hotel where we were staying. We were on a Memorial Day weekend trip and we had a good memory with this dinner too!! Thanks!! I do have a recommendation for the restaurant, As somebody said before, the sauce needs a little kick, I guess it needs sweetness! Then the pizza will have profound taste and be much much better with the combination of saltiness with the cheese.

We were here during lunch time for the first time and loved it! We got here right when they just opened, so we didn't have to wait for a table. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We ordered a deep dish pizza with one topping and it was delicious. The sauce and the cheese were really good. FYI - The deep dish pizza takes 40 - 45 mins to make. As for starter, we got an order of garlic breads and it wasn't bad at all. We also got an Italian Beef sandwich, which was okay. Next time l'll try the Philly sandwich, since I heard it better. Prices are reasonable. Overall, my son and I had a great experience and if we're in the area we're definitely be back.

Terrible service, very rude waiter. We came at same time as another couple, we all sat outside due to no tables and no "reservations". The other table received drinks and ordered almost 15 min before we ever even got any service. Asked for service, took another 5 min for someone to come. Then said it would be over an hour and 10 min to cook the pizza. We were a little irritated that it took so long to get service, mentioned to the waiter how we were little upset it took a long time, and now even longer to get food, the waiter smarted off. I told him to stop, he snatched our menu from my hand and told us to leave. Will never be back!

This is a tough place for me to review, as I've never had real Chicago deep dish pizza so I don't know how this compares to it. I'm also not a fan of other pizza types, my absolute favorite pizza is the pan crust style from Pizza Hut... But ultimately, I thought the pizza was just ok and that I'm not into deep dish pizza. You have to call 45 minutes ahead of time to get your pizza ready. We got one with sausage and onions. I feel like it's kind of silly to charge for onions, or any other kind of vegetable for that matter. If you're a person who likes a lot on their pizza, this will get expensive quick. We got there and our pizza wasn't quite ready yet, but not a big deal overall. The pizza comes in 4 slices and looks small at first until you actually delve in and start to eat it. Me and my girlfriend ended up eating only a slice and a half each. It'll definitely fill you up. Overall, I thought the pizza was OK. On the plus side, it was hot and cheesy but it also had way too much tomato sauce for my taste. It came with tomato sauce sprinkled on top of it to boot. I'd definitely get it with less sauce next time. The crust itself was unspectacular. Disappointingly normal. It was nice to try out deep dish pizza but it's not my cup of tea.

Deep dish pizza is amazing!!! Call ahead to place order because the pizza takes 45 min to make. So good!!!!

I've had deep dish pizza in Chicago and Taste of Chicago is the closest to it. Friendly staff, plenty of booths and tables for guests, and a variety of enjoyable meals beyond the deep dish world. Highly recommended.

Ever since our local deep dish place in Arlington went out of business a couple years back we've been wanting to come out and try this place out, but it's a heck of a trek. We finally planned ahead, called our order in ahead of time, and drove on out there for lunch today. I'm glad we did! It's a pretty darn good deep dish pizza. The large was just the right size for our family of four (honestly it was probably a little too much, but we each ate two large slices). We had a coupon for a small thin crust as well, which we just had them pack up for us to take home (but I snuck a bite before putting it in the fridge). The deep dish is the way to go here. It's as good as you can find in this part of the country, better than a deep dish we had in CA last year, and could probably do ok in Chicago as well though the competition will be fierce. It blows the pizza at the Irving deep dish place (forgot the name) out of the water. The thin crust pizza isn't bad, but it's not as standout as the deep dish. I prefer Louie's for thin crust Chicago style pizza. If you live nearby though it's definitely an option if you don't have time for deep dish; I wouldn't trek out here from Arlington for the thin crust though, just the deep dish. Our server was very nice and attentive and was impressed we'd driven all the way out there just to have pizza. We're fat, we're foodies, what can I say? Prices were very reasonable, our large 3 topping was IIRC $21 before tax and tip and it stuffed us and our teen/pre-teen boys. We'll have to plan to make it out here every once in awhile, because it's great stuff and a lot closer than Chicago.

The bessssssssssst lasagna in the history of lasagna. I wish this place was in Austin tx! I love their food and I still haven't tried their deep dish yet!

I've had the personal size deep-dish and the Chicago Beef. The pizza reminds me of Giordano's. Which is a good thing IMO. I'm not a Chicago native, but I've sampled a half dozen Yelp recommendations there and Giordano's was definitely my fave. I feel like Taste of Chicago's deep-dish is real close. It's also awesome for the fact it's one of the few places I've come across that offers a genuine Chicago Beef. I live on the other side of Central, but if I were closer I'd probably hit up Taste of Chicago once a week. So good.

I just want to give a major shout out to this wonderful staff!!! I work literally above this awesome group of people and have been treated like nothing but family since day one... The customer service is impeccable, the food is amazing!!! The whole experience has set a new standard for pizza and customer service in this city! I promise you wont be let down!! Shout out the entire staff!! And keep up the great work!!!

At work, I arrange dinners for groups of usually 20+ people coming in from out of town for training classes. Since Taste of Chicago is close, I decided to try them. Both the owners Mario and Emin were wonderful and very easy to deal with. They worked so hard to accommodate our group and took great care of them. Even when I called so many times to make changes, confirm, etc., they were just great. They were on it! Food was excellent and everyone really enjoyed. It makes me so happy to find a great place like this! They will be getting our business again and I highly recommend. Thank you!

Perfection! Hubby and I decided not to order ahead so we could enjoy a couple glasses of wine and the thin crust cheese (they GIVE you with the large deep dish) while we waited! Such a lovely decision. The staff was so friendly, wine is always the right choice, and both pizzas were SCRUMPTIOUS! This was our first visit, so we couldn't narrow our "toppings" and ended up with virtually everything on it. I was worried it would be soggy or just too much, but they know what they're doing! The crust was magical - dense and soft yet crispy - and the ingredients, sauce, etc were just perfect. I'll try to exercise restraint next time, but from this experience, I'm confident you can't go wrong with any combination of toppings! We love leftovers, and if you do too, go for the large! For $25, we enjoyed ours Monday-Saturday, no exaggeration! What a deal! We'll be back... Probably too often... So long waist line... Ask me if I care.

This is THE place to get chicago pizza in Dallas. It's not quite Giordanos but it's pretty close. And their beefs are really good as well. The people working there are really nice and the food is great. What more can you ask for.

Yes, I'm on the bandwagon for this deep dish deliciousness. The crazy part is I'm not really a big pizza fan. I was introduced to the Chicago style "deep dish" pie while visiting a place called Malnati's in Chicago many years ago & poof a similar spot shows up in my hood. I love supporting the local businesses so I decided to test the hype. Ordered delivery, which meant I could stay busy while axiously waiting out the 40 minute cook time. When it arrived I almost dropped it because it was solid! Here's the good part - spinach, pepperoni, garlic (my 3 choice items) and tons of cheese w/ fresh sauce. WHAT! The only thing is I may ask for them to bake it a little longer for crispier pie edges. The flavors were melded together nicely. You know you have something good when it tastes even better the next day. I will definitely put this place in my faves rotation.

Decided to give this place a try on a Friday night with three family members. We arrived around 8 pm and the small restaurant with outdoor seating did not have an empty seat inside. We gave our name up front at the counter and waited around 15 minutes before being seated. At the suggestion of staff we ordered two deep dish pizzas while we were waiting for our seats which was helpful since the pizzas take about 45 minutes to prepare. (We were also told we could call and reserve and order ahead of time to make things easier next time.) We ordered the appetizer sampler to start and it came out quickly and did not last long. The veggie and pepperoni pizzas we ordered were excellent. If you like authentic deep dish pizza then this place is definitely worth trying. Next time we know that two medium pies are way too much for four people. But, I love leftovers so I didn't mind too much. Our waitress, Cindy, was very friendly and attentive and came by often to make sure everything was to our liking. The restaurant seems to be family run and everyone is very friendly. Definitely going back!

Deep dish worth the 45 min wait. However, we were told to call it ahead so our wait wouldn't be as long next time (great tip). We got ours unlimited with just about everything. Im not big on pizza, but this was d'lish!! While we waited for pizza pie to cook, we had salads. Hubs had the house salad and i the side salad. There is no difference between the two except one is served pn a square plate. So save the $ and just get side salad. The salad was so fresh, cold and crisp. Restaurant and staff very clean snd friendly.

This is the best Chicago style deep dish pizza place in Dallas. The sauce, cheese and crust are all excellent. It's fairly expensive but a great treat!

One of the best places to grab a slice. I found this little gem through reviews here and it definitely lives up to the hype. Be sure to call ahead as the deep dish pizzas can take up to 40 minutes to bake. The pizza is perfectly layered and is truly a treat to be shared. They also have awesome wings. If you forget to call ahead get some to tide you over. The staff is super nice and are wonderful to converse with. I highly recommend this joint.

Second time we went to this place. First time we didn't know to call ahead to order the deep dish. So we got the thin crust with everything on it. The waitress thought we were crazy, but it was so good! Tonight, we CALLED AHEAD for the deep dish. You have got to call ahead. It takes 45 minutes to an hour to order the deep dish. Just call ahead, it's worth it. We called ahead, got there before the estimated time for our pizza. Got some beer, watching the Monday night football, ordered some fried mushrooms (I'm practically addicted to them!) and enjoyed it all. The deep dish pizza was served piping hot and it was so worth it! The crust makes it. The fresh veg, cheese is thick, crust is light and buttery.. You just have to get it. It's why they are busy. Best pizza place I've been to in Dallas!

Not very impressed. Love deep dish & live in Addison, so why not? I came in around 2 in the afternoon. Only one table had people.I ordered a medium 3 topping pizza to go. The wait was about 30 min. The counter guy was nice but not friendly. Crust was a little burnt & the pizza was so-so. It wasn't like the Chicago style I've had in Chicago. Skimped on cheese a bit.

My husband, myself, and two friends went to this wonderful establishment last week!! We couldn't have been happier. Our deep dish ultimate pizza came out PERFECT!!! And our waitress Cindy was a delight. She kept the beer coming, made suggestions for desserts (that we took by the way). The cheesecake was great!!! You can't get a better pizza with a better size and taste at Papa John's for the price we paid at Taste of Chicago!

Awesome Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza...One of the best Pizzas in Dallas, restaurant is not very exciting. you might want to call ahead to order your pizza as it could take about 45 minutes to bake (its not dominos)...Its worth the wait.

If you ever want to have a cheap dinner with friends, this is the place. Their Chicago style pizzas are so cheesy and dense that you really only want one slice. My friends and I shared a large deep dish and we were all satisfied. The pizzas here are not as thick as the traditional ones but for lack of height, they make up in cheesiness. The cheese goes all the way into the crust which almost makes it a stuffed crust pizza. The cheese was oozy and buttery. The flavors we tried were mushrooms and pepperoni, and Canadian bacon, garlic, and bacon bits. The mushrooms and pepperoni was really good. It had the classic pizza flavors. I felt the latter had too much going on (totally not ToC's fault since we picked out our own toppings). Just be conscientious when picking your toppings because it can get pretty salty. The free cheese pizza was a great deal and satiated us while we waited for the deep dish. The restaurant is really casual. Just come dressed comfortably and remember to call in your order ahead of time. I suggest coming a little earlier than the expected cooking time because I think it affects the temperature of the pizza. My friends were running on Asian time so our pizza ended up hanging out in the pizza warmer for a bit. I haven't tried their other dishes but I am definitely a fan of their deep dish pizzas- be prepared for a food coma!!

Thoroughly disappointed, first of I have eaten pizza and Italian beef sandwich from Chicago. I ordered a calzone and a Italian beef sandwich. On the sandwich the beef was dry! Dry really? There was only a sprinkle of cheese on the sandwich, it didn't go all the way through. And on the calzone they didn't put my pepperoni, I asked for extra pepperoni and there was none wtf, got my hopes up! They called me back right after I posted this and explained the issue to me. On the sandwich they can deep the meat to make it moist! Also on the pepperoni the delivery didn't show up this morning, they got a different delivery company! There was also a miscommunication on the pepperoni on a coworker of mines about the pepperoni. They are going to comp me a calzone so I am amazed at the customer service and can say I will be ordering again! Once I get my calzone I will be updating this review again! This place is awesome by the way, try the deep dish pizza has became one of my favorites

Wow! Went back here today (finally) to try the deep dish. Not only was the pizza fantastic, but the service from the owner and his wife was amazing. I ordered ahead and got there a few minutes before the pizza was ready. I had a chance to talk with the owner while waiting. I am glad that I got there early, because that conversation was really nice. I ordered takeout for my wife and kids which was done right as I was finishing what I could of the small deep dish. I packaged up what was left of of the deep dish to go as well. Great food and great people who truly care about their restaurant and the customer. What else could you possibly ask for?

We ate at Thai Star and my picky kids wanted pizza and I had been meaning to try this place out... Simply put...Great deep dish! Just as good as the one I had when I visited Chicago... Definitely order ahead of time or expect to wait 45 min but I don't mind since I want authentic deep dish!

Been here a few times now. It is really good. My father-in-law practically starts salivating any time we talk about it. I like the greek salad. I had never had Chicago-style pizza before. It's intense: one slice takes the place of about 6 regular slices for me, and order double pepperoni, so Intense is a good description, I think. If you like Chicago-style, or if you haven't ever had it, try this place out!

Tasty! Call ahead and avoid waiting 45 minutes while they cook your deep dish. Spinach and Sausage pie was very good. Plenty of sauce if you like that. Will definitely go back.

In in love! We lived in Chicago for years and this pizza is it! The wait is long, but worth every minute. Call ahead and order your pizza, 45 minutes ahead and it'll be done and on the table for you to enjoy. A small feeds 2-4 well. The toasted ravioli are great as an appetizer. I consider myself a sauce snob and I really enjoyed theirs. Fresh ingredients. Staff was so friendly! We will be back soon!

Jennifer P's comment described my experience there to the letter. I too was told to sit wherever and I sat down on one of the "few" tables that were wiped down. There were only 2 other people inside the restaurant since I went there around 2:30 pm on a weekday. I'm pretty sure they had sufficient time to clean after the lunch rush. Nevertheless, I sat down at a clean table but was then told by the waitress that I could not sit at this table because it was for large groups. I told her that there was no large groups waiting and this was the only table that was clean. She told me that this was her boss' policy. I asked her to clean off another table and she began to do so. All she did was wipe off the food crumbs left from the last patron onto the floor and chair. It's at this point that I decided to just leave because I felt like I was really just not welcomed there. I'm going to give them another chance today. I'll post a follow up review later.

Just so everyone knows... I had lived in Chicago for a little over a year, am a die hard Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks fan, and I watched Oprah religiously over the years so I feel very VERY qualified to write this review. ;) So enough about my credentials, let's get on with the review. Boyfriend and I were in Addison one Saturday afternoon and were really feeling the hunger pangs. I popped open the Yelp app and took a look at my bookmarks and realized that Taste of Chicago was on my list and better yet, less than a kilometre away! If you're not looking, Taste of Chicago is quite easy to miss. But as a former fat girl, I still had that keen sense of smell for delicious food and I located the restaurant slightly tucked away in a lonely plaza right away. Honestly, you won't miss it. There are signs and arrows pointing you to it from the road and then there are also those big orange letters with the name of the restaurant on the building. If you miss it, you're probably Asian and got lost. The restaurant is pretty bare except for a few pictures of Chicago sports teams hanging on the walls and a television or two. I can forgive them for this because the food was great! When we walked in, there were probably 4 to 5 other patrons with one waitress (whom I believe was the owner's pregnant wifey). There was only one of her but she was working her butt off! We had the Greek salad, which IMO, was big enough for two. We also had the fried mushrooms, which I am usually not a fan of but these were very good. They weren't greasy or soggy OR bready! Instead, they were hot and crispy and when biting into one, the mushroom just exploded in your mouth (take your mind out of the gutter!). We ordered a large deep dish pizza which could have been a mistake had the pizza been disgusting but fortunately for us, it wasn't! Folks, it was worth that forty-minute wait. It came out hot and it came out perfect. When I took my slice, I could smell garlic emanating from the rest of the pizza! We only had one slice each (the slices are quite massive and filling) and had maybe 6 or 7 slices left to take home. While Italy may have invented this important staple in my diet, Chicagoans have definitely perfected it. And I am super stoked that a taste of Chicago is available at Taste of Chicago in Addison. We'll be back! EDITED TO ADD: Went vegan in 7/2014 so I prob won't be back here unless they start offering vegan options.

I was never a huge fan of deep dish pizza but coming here might have actually changed how I feel about it! Although I've personally never had an actual Chicago deep dish pizza, I can't really compare how similar it is or what to expect but I did enjoy what we had very very much! We got a large with unlimited toppings consisting of beef, bacon, spinach, jalapenos, black olives and garlic. The pizza took a lil while to come out but when it did, oh myy it was deliicious! The cheese and sauce was good but there were a few parts of the pizza that felt like it could use more sauce. The toppings weren't overwhelming, in fact I think it would probably be better with a bit more toppings. The size though, it said that a large was going to feed 6-8 people.. I'm not sure if we're just fat or what but we ate 7 out of 8 slices and there was only 4 of us. I highly doubt the medium would be filling enough for us (perhaps if they put more toppings then it would be). Overall, this was pretty good, I've been wanting to try UNO in fort worth but it's just so far. I guess if I ever crave deep dish, I'll be heading this way. **DO expect 40mins of cook time for your deep dish pizza (regardless of what size) so call ahead if need be**

I love Jon Stewart, but he's crazy if he thinks Chicago deep dish isn't mind blowingly delicious. And I'm soooooo happy to have this place here finally! THIS is where to come for deep dish pizza in DFW, an area previously severely under-served. I hear the thin crust here is quite delicious as well, if that's your thing, and the last time I was here I heard some regulars raving about it as well. But I doubt I'll be straying from my deep dish. It's terrible...I'll be at work and then I'll start thinking about the pizza here and I'm doomed. I have to stop and have some. I'm a cheese fiend and I can polish off a decent amount of a small (it really feeds at least 2 very well) but it's also not so heavy that I'm useless for the rest of the day. Everyone who works here is very friendly and helpful, you're never rushed and service has always been prompt. The owner also seems to have a really good memory and is very personable with all the customers. I love supporting a local place like this that has great quality and great people. Last but not least, the deep dishes can take 35 minutes or so, so either plan on having a few drinks first or call ahead!

We had an early dinner yesterday afternoon and really enjoyed this place. We had the appetizer sampler which was pretty good, nothing too extraordinary. Then came the small deep dish pepperoni, italian sausage, and jalapeño pizza. Great tasting crust with perfect mix of sauce and cheese. Enjoyed three slices at the restraunt and had the last slice for lunch today. Easily makes top three pizza list! Thanks Suzana for a fine dining experience. We'll definitely will be back for more!

Tonight was my 1st time dining here and I must say it was a wonderful experience. The waitress was a sweetie. My fiance and I ordered the appetizer sampler to start off and that was amazing! We ordered the med deep dish pizza & it was HUGE but very tasty. I definitely plan on returning in the future. I highly recommend newbies giving this place a try.

I'm originally from the Chicago area and I will say the deep dish pizza was very good. Enjoyed the sauce and the sausage was really good which in my opinion is what makes the pizza. I wish I had some room to try the Italian beef.

Since moving to Dallas from Chicago, I have frantically searched for Chicago style pizza, both deep dish and thin crust. I have been here four times now and I've had both types of pizza. I am glad to say that whenever I need my Chicago style pizza fix, I now have a go-to place. The thin crust is actually my favorite and it is well priced. The owner (or manager?) seems like he is all about providing awesome food and awesome service. Definitely give this place a shot.

I love this place, I really do. I'm from Chicago so the name is what brought me here. Their deep dish isn't that bad- it's the best in Dallas from what I've had so far. But I'm mostly a fan of their tradition thin crust pizza because it's not NY style paper thin like most places in Dallas have. The thin crust pizza is what we order most of the time from here when we don't feel like cooking. Can't beat an $8 dinner. So with that said I love this place for it's prices and good pizza, but the only complaint I have is that they are not consistent with the cooking of the pizza. We've had the pizza come out incredibly yummy, hot and crispy at times and then kind of cold with their cheese not even fully melted other times. It's been a 50/50 hit or miss chance so far, I don't know what the cause of that is but it's annoying sometimes. Another thing I don't like about this place is that it's closed on Sundays. This is especially frustrating during football season when all you want to do is order a pizza and watch the game. BUT the taste of their pizza (when it's good) keeps me coming back and it is so far my favorite pizza in the city.

I love true Chicago deep dish and Taste of Chicago is the best you'll find in the area. Appetizers: We had the Baked (Fried) Ravioli. Wife liked it; I wasn't impressed. Nice dinner salad, big enough for 2. Pizzas: We ordered 2 medium pizzas for 3 of us - due to preferences and wanting leftovers. Both were piping hot (be prepared to wait, (this is deep dish). Good sauce, nice crust and topping seemed fresh. Probably the best Chicago pizza I've had outside Chicago and one place in Iowa City. 3 of us ate less than one full medium, so we have a lot of leftovers. Dessert: We took a cannoli home. Should have taken the gun and left the cannoli. Staff: VERY friendly. Very chatty. Quick to bring more drinks. Atmosphere: I think Subway designed the restaurant. Bright lighting, the front was all glass windows, no curtains, to the parking lot. 3-4 booths, Maybe 10-12 four top tables. Generic photos of Chicago. If I lived in the area I'd either have delivered or pick up. Place was pretty full and good traffic of pickup orders, so I'm glad they're doing well. Hope they continue to succeed so they can open another location closer to Dallas (at Beltline & Midway currently) and one with a bit more atmosphere/ambiance.

Ok finally getting around to writing a review of this place because it was actually that lack luster... started off with an order of wings that had good flavor but were the smallest wings I've ever seen in life, no joke. the pizza was okay if you've never had a real Chicago pizza, But as for my time, money and taste I will make the trip to Frisco or McKinney to get Rosatti's.

I have not had too many chances at getting some authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza. But out of all the places, this is the hands down the best one I have ever had. When I first ordered from here I came in to pick it up. Remind you it takes at least 40 minutes for them to make your Chicago style deep dish. But when I got there it was kind of deserted. I didn't wait long and it turned out my pizza got burnt. So the owner made me a deal. He comped this pizza, took my information down and said when ever I am ready to give them another shot he would comp me again, since he claimed this never happens. I believe the chap. Quite honestly the parts that were not burnt was very good. I at first though of not even dealing with the free pizza. But I felt like it, so I took on the offer. When this pizza is fresh, it is phenomenal. Just the right amount of sauce, not too saucy, I do not like it when sauce over powers a pizza, good amount of cheese, and extremely loaded with toppings. I noticed a lot of places in DFW have sparse toppings on their pizza, but no, Taste of Chicago is packed man. I will be coming back and I do say it is worth your money

Deep dish in North Texas? Yes! And quite good as well. The crust was just crispy enough, toppings were plentiful, and the sauce was surprisingly good. Admittedly, I am a Lou Malnati's fan and try to get my fix whenever I am home in Chicagoland. Normally, I would supplement with the frozen pies in between visits. No more! A Taste of Chicago will be my between Chicagoland visits stop. Service was excellent. Suzana was very friendly and engaging, even while serving a fairly full house last night. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back again.

This is legitimate Chicago style pizza. This is one of my favorite foods on the planet. it would be hard to find a better Chicago pizza even in Chicago. I can only think of one restaurant in Chicago but I like better which is Lou Malnati's.

Very good pizza. I wasn't expecting the pizza to taste so good given the somewhat appearance of the restaurant. Highly recommended, but if you are going to get the deep dish, call ahead... it takes roughly 40 mins to cook.

The deep dish was decent, nothing too special. This is my first deep dish outside of Chicago so that's what I'm comparing it to and so the rating is subject to change after I try more places in Dallas. The sauce was really sweet and didn't taste too fresh. The cheese isn't like Chicago where it's thick and chewy. The service and atmosphere was great though. The waiter came by multiple times to refill drinks and asked if we needed anything.

Great tasting pizza and experience. Family enjoyed it. Waitress was very helpful. The deep dish does take almost 40 minutes to cook so wouldn't hurt to call and pre-order before getting there. The portion size is huge. Got a medium half and half and comfortably fed three people with leftovers.

Love Love Love!! This place is awesome and I highly recommend going it for the authentic Chicago Pizza, Deep Dish!! I have heard all about this place from friends from Chicago and let me tell you, they are soooo right!! Order the Chicago Deep Dish Meat Pizza!!! You won't be disappointed!!!

If I never ate here again, I probably would not mind. The quality of the ingredients were fresh and tasty, but the bread is where they sorely lack. I ordered a sub, and the bread was really hard and chewy. The deep dish crust was also hard, and not enjoyable. The mozzarella and meat they use are pretty good though. I didnt like the fact that everything took forever to make, but a pizza does take some time. Order ahead if you can.

Good Pizza even better pricing. Definitely a welcome addition to Addison's bustling restaurant scene. So much better than the franchise pizza we are used to. Baked well. Takes time from order to delivery. But anyone who is familiar with Chicago style pizza. Already knows that. Tasty appetizers as well.

Good Pizza. Good service. Loved it. My first time tasting Chicago style pizza. No complaints. My friends & I orderded a large, but end up taking pizza home. Worth the money!

Super tasty deep dish pizza. The crust is buttery, flaky and crispy. It is incredibly filling as it reads more like a casserole, they way Chicago-style pizza should be. The sauce is pretty tasty, and stacked up on top of the second layer of crust. They are super generous with their toppings, but they use good quality cheese, meats and veggies. Service is super friendly, Just a heads up, it takes about 40 minutes for them to bake the pizza as it is so thick, which makes it great for a leisurely meal or you can always call your order in ahead of time.

Great service and pizza! Not as good as the actual pizza from chicago but its pretty dang close. Love here will go again! People here really do care about your dining experience! Again great place! Had my 2 baby boys and family so it is a nice family simple dining experience.

I am just not seeing why this place is so highly reviewed? I wanted very much to live this place as it is within walking distance from my home, alas it was mediocre at best. Service: very friendly, but she forgot 2 things including water even after we asked for it. Ambiance: none at all Pizza: good, but nothing to rave about. Super greasy with tons of cheese. Sauce tasted processed and I was really hoping for fresh tomatoes. If they indeed make the sauce, it has been sitting too long. My friend wanted me to give 2 stars, but I'm feeling generous.

Best pizza ever! Delicious red sauce! Fresh ingredients I like that it's small, so the franchise can focus on good pizza instead.

This place is a MUST TRY. If you're looking to order the deep dish it is always smart to call ahead for it since it does take 40-45 min to bake. They will always tell you the approximate time also. All of the food is GREAT. And the service...speechless Be there or be square Seriously try it It's so goood

We had a great experience Cindy our waiter was fantastic. We had a deep dish with unlimited toppings, it was my first time having a real deep dish pizza and we were blown away. The pizza is made to orders I it does take about 30min to make so try some appetizers like hot wings and a house salad.

Fried ravioli was average and they give you a lot of fried mushrooms. Well, we may have waited well over an hour for our deep dish pizza to arrive (went through a whole ellipsoid of 24 and about half of topchef), but the pizza was a hit. I guess I'm not a huge fan of toppings inside my pizza. Wouldn't get pepperoni again doesn't get cooked. They must have to precook the meat toppings, because the veggies were warm but seemed raw. Id recommend giving the deep dish a try but, call ahead if you don't like waiting and pick toppings that you think would be good as 'innings'.

Deeeeeelish! One of the first places we tried following our move to Addison. Based on the reviews we had to try the pizza and it certainly did not let us down! Price is great and pizza is great! Will definitely be back! Only reason we gave Taste of Chicago four stars and not five was for atmosphere. Probably a great place for families but not so much a place to hang out with friends for a while.

This place never disappoints. I've had the deep dish here several times, the Italian beef sandwich, and various appetizers. Everything is always on point!

  • Tatiana Q.

Oh my gosh is the deep dish pizza here is sooooo frikin good. I use to live in Chicago and this is literally just as good as any of the deep dish pizza I've had there. We always end up getting a margarita deep dish pizza, but eventually we'll try more! Like the Italian beef I keep seeing pictures of...

  • Tory D.

I was very excited to try this place, however, I would not get it to go ever again. Any place that puts foil directly under the pizza needs to rethink. This pizza was awful due to very soggy crust, think wet noodle. I know they think they are saving the grease draining through, but ruining the crust is not the answer

  • Chris M.

Best deep dish around. The sauce tastes like it is made from scratch and the cheese has a great saltiness. I ordered the garlic cheese app and the pie came out about ten minutes after i was done with the app. Definitely a place to go back to.

Cheese deep dish is amazing, ESPECIALLY when you're high! I ordered a large (with spinach, onions and mushrooms) and got a free small cheese. Ask for crispy crust, trust me.

I expected more of a sports bar/restaurant feeling. In my opinion it wasn't enough televisions or sports on the television sets. I ordered the deep dish with double pepperoni. It was actually pretty good. Just a tad bit too salty but still good.

A good alternative to the large chains if you love in the Addison area. You will often see owner working behind the counter or serving the table. He is a helpful gentleman with a great attitude. The restaurant has a lot of great options to chose from, but you can't go wrong with the pizza.

Went to Taste of Chicago for a family birthday. Called a few days ahead of time and spoke with the owner, who answered the phone and was very accommodating. Tonight was the night. Called in the deep dish pizza order ahead of time, so that it would be ready not long after our arrival. Arrived, hostess was helpful, friendly and helped us get settled and get our other food (salads, etc) and drinks ordered. Pizza came out when said it would be ready. Our table had a small deep dish which fed one adult and one tween, and a large deep dish which fed four adults. I am a Chicago deep dish afficionado, a former-frequent and current-occasional traveler to Windy. I've had all the major players' pizza in Chicago, a few mom and pops in Chicago, and a number of hopeful Chicago deep dish places all across the Metroplex. Any place I go to is compared against the indisputed King of Chicago Deep Dish. With that highest of bars set in place, I rate Taste of Chicago 4 of 5 stars. It is above average and I will be back. They make a commendable Chicago deep dish pizza here. When first served piping hot, the tomato sauce had an interesting flavor. I'm not saying it was bad, it was just interesting and different than I've had before. The pizza became better and more flavorful as it cooled down. (When we left I reached for one last bite of near-room-temp and it was the most flavorful bite of all.) The whole crew enjoyed it. There were six of us, and between a large deep and a small deep there was less than one slice leftover between the two pizzas. The house salad at the beginning of the meal was good. The lettuce and all other veggies were fresh. Waitress was great. Genuine, warm, friendly, solid service across the board. Sans the 'different' flavor at the beginning of the meal, this would be 5 out of 5. There's a lot to be said for Taste Of Chicago, and this first trip only regards the pizza. No one in our group tried the pasta, calzones, Italian beef, etc. Looking forward to coming back and trying some other things. DFW definitely needs solid Chicago-style restaurants, to hold us over when we can't make it to Windy as frequently as we'd like. Taste of Chicago is doing their part to fill that need.

Had a chance to take the wife to this spot for Saturday lunch it was pretty good. Being from Chicago I would say it's close but not all the way what they offer back home but the service was awesome so they pick up big points with me food had flavor and seasoned well so hat off to a nice chill spot to have a good pizza and more.

I love Chicago deep dish pizza. Found this place through yelp and unfortunately didn't have enough time to wait for a deep dish to be made. Got a thin crust instead and it was great didn't disappoint at all. Will be coming back with a knife and fork however real soon!!!

I can't say enough good things about this place! The service was exceptional, the food was AMAZING! We ordered an appetizer sampler and it was very good. The fried ravioli was the best part of the appetizer. I would recommend it to anyone. The pizza we ordered was a deep dish medium with Italian sausage and mushrooms. The medium was huge! Way too much for two people. the pizza takes about 40 minutes to prepare, so calling ahead is a good idea. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I are from Illinois, and I grew up on the Southside of Chicago. So when friends told us about Taste of Chicago in Addison, TX, we were ready to explore this pizza mission so far from the Windy City. We were delighted with our findings: hot delicious deep dish pizza al' la all the venerable pizza institutions back home. If you took a bite and closed your eyes, you almost thought you were back at one of your fav hangouts enjoying the best pizza for family celebrations. Suzana served us efficiently and quickly. The pizza was piping hot, and the cool beverages a good complement to the food. Do look for this fine restaurant which is a little recessed west from Midway Road, and a little south of Beltway Drive. With your first bite, you will be transported back to the "Second City," without ever leaving North Texas. Come and enjoy!

Place only had two occupied tables around 8:30pm on a friday. Ordered a large supreme and a deep dish. The supreme thin pizza's crust tasted premade, the little sauce on it was thin, watery and bland. The deep dish's sauce tasted better, more flavor. If I had to choose it'd be the deep dish, but not enough for me to return. Regarding the service (our experience) the girls just disappeared, we had to fill our own beverages, charged for exta beer we didn't get (got that taken care of) and never cleared anything from the table. I little more info: there were four of us in the group, unfortunately all of us felt the same.

So here's why I'm writing this review. Don't get me wrong the food is ok. It's not something Worth bragging about but when me and my family are in the mood for Chicago pizza it's one of the few places close enough that we can eat there. So we have ate ordered delivery multiple times from this place and each time a "distance" was never mentioned. Until today. Calling in my order and apparently because the delivery guy had 15+ deliveries that it was not gonna happen due to the distance between my home and the restaurant. I can understand it being busy, I've worked for restaurants, I get it. But why tell me now that they have been making an exception to deliver our pizza the times we have ordered. Why not tell me the first time I've ordered. But no. Not to mention they only deliver within a 5mi radius...I live 5.2mi away. SERIOUS .2 EXTRA are you kidding me? How ridiculous. And then when I talked to the I guess delivery man he wasn't gonna have it. Like I said I've worked for restaurants before and to my knowledge if you are going to MAKE AN EXCEPTION you inform the customer so they aren't mislead. They most definitely lost a customer and if anyone reads this beware the extra .1 or .2 miles extra. Not worth my time or money. HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE CLEARLY BUT IF YOU LIKE MEDIOCRE FOOD GO THERE.

Most people that know me know that I love a well made deep dish pizza. An authentic Chicago style deep dish, that is. I've been searching for one all over the Metroplex and all but gave up until I stumbled upon Taste of Chicago. Tucked inside what seems to be an abandoned shopping center you wouldn't know that this place even existed unless you made a wrong turn into this depressing shopping center. Seriously. The place looks dead with most of the building begging to be rented out. It was by chance that I found this place when visiting my favorite Thai restaurant in DFW, Thai Star, which also happens to be part of this complex. Curious as to what Taste of Chicago was all about I read a few reviews and found that it had really good ratings and planned to see what the hype was about. If you're unfamiliar with deep dish pizzas know this: they take forever to make. 45 minutes might not sound like too bad of a wait, but those same 45 minutes can be agonizing when you're starving and everyone around you is pigging out while the place is full of the aroma of meats and spices that go into these pies. This place allows you to call in your order so take advantage and save yourself from agony. Consider ordering a large pizza here as you'll also get a small thin crust cheese pizza. The crust is not too crispy and there is a good amount of cheese on it. Sure, it's simple, but it's mighty tasty. It's big enough to serve as an appetizer even for larger groups. Anyway, on to the real reason why you're here..if you're still reading this..The pies here aren't as tall as what you would expect. They come with a generous base of the toppings that you choose, but there isn't that sea of tomato sauce that you'd expect to find from any pizza joint in Chicago. That may be good for some, but I actually enjoy the extra sauce that makes each bite a potentially messy one. Where the pies fall short in sauce they make up for in the crust, which is similar to what you would find in a stuffed crust pizza in the fact that there is cheese that seeps deep into the crust. I normally discard the crust from any pizza, but the oozy surprise makes eating the edges enjoyable. As for the toppings themselves, they're pretty good quality. The veggies are fresh and the proteins pack a lot of taste. The meats are a bit salty so consider ordering a mix of veggies with your meat. Don't be shy to mix it up! They'll allow you to choose 2 topping combos per pie. 4/5 Service was good even though our waitress was pretty much the only help there. She was nice and kept never allowed our drinks to go empty. Can't ask for much more than that. 5/5 As for value, you're getting your money's worth if you order a large deep dish. A slice is equivalent to 2, maybe 3 slices that you would get at your chain pizzerias. Add the small thin crust cheese pizza and you're still paying less than what you would pay for a single pie in Chicago. 4/5 Unfortunately, you're not going to feel like you're stepping into a Giordano's or Uno here. Besides the occasional poster of Chicago sport teams this place lacks character so don't expect to be magically transported to the Windy City in here. The walls are made of glass which allow more for more light to come in, but also gives you an unattractive view of the parking lot. 3/5 Even with that setback, this place is now my go to for any deep dish cravings. If you've been looking for a decent deep dish give Taste of Chicago a shot. You won't be sorry!

When I saw this place I had thoughts of Chicago's own Giordano's. Or at least i was hoping a place called Taste of Chicago would be somewhat similar to a REAL Chicago pizza. I was disappointed to say the least. Nothing like a real Chicago pie. My pizza tasted like it came out the frozen section of Kroger. And I also made the mistake of ordering fried mushrooms. They were straight out of Sam's Club frozen section. If you want good mushrooms go to Snuffers. After I wrote this the owner commented that this was a fake review. Sorry, its real. I will continue to try and find a real Chicago pizza place. And I will never waste money on the wanna-be imitation.

We called ahead and ordered a deep dish pizza for lunch one day since they take 45 minutes to cook. Headed over and almost couldn't find their location - if you're familiar with Thai Star its in that same back plaza. The decor was sparse, but they had just opened. We sat down and let them know we had called ahead and then ordered a Greek salad to eat while we finished the wait for our pizza. I was a little concerned when the server asked me what kind of dressing I wanted on my Greek salad (and when Greek wasn't an option) - but I went with it. The salad took a long time so it ended up coming out at the same time as the pizza and pizza wins over salad so I never got around to trying the salad. On to the star of the show.... deep dish pizza. YUM. We got a small (feeds 1-3 people according to their website) with extra cheese and Italian sausage. It was GREAT - the ingredients were all very tasty and the sauce was really good. Super filling - I ate my 2 slices of our small pizza for lunch and never got hungry enough for dinner. Give it a shot!

Got a Greek salad and a pepperoni Chicago style pizza. I thought id had Chicago style before....those fail in comparison to this pie. Holy mother of god. 1-delicious 2-go with a huge appetite. I regret the salad. The salad was good, don't get me wrong. But if I hadn't had the salad, there would have been more room for pizza. This rating is based solely off the pizza and service. Oh yea, and these people are so nice! Owner came to talk to us about the pizza. Waitress refilled our water like a hundred times, too. They seemed to do a lot of take out also. Lots of ppl called ahead and just came to pick up. In case anyone was wondering, I'll be back.

THE REAL MF'N DEAL!!!! Growing up in Chicagoland, True Deep Dish Pizza is what I miss the most. We went on sat night, and were greeted with a very kind waitress (who turned out to be one of the owners (how cool is that). The place has a very personal touch, but also has REAL CHICAGO DEEP DISH PIZZA. The Owner worked at a Chicago Pizzeria for over 20 years, he got it down, and brought it to texas!! Will be back Soon!!!!

As a former Chicagoan I think it's great that someone here in the Dallas area is trying to serve up some Chicago based grub. BUT as for the TASTE of said Chicago grub, it's far from perfect. Their Italian beef doesn't come close to the flavor that you expect if you were ordering one from any of the thousands of beef joints in Chicagoland. The 'Au jus' they use with the beef tastes like straight beef broth. That is SO wrong. There is a myriad of complex flavors and spices that are supposed to be simmering with the beef to give it that distinct Chicago flavor. They definitely don't do that here. The bread is very good however, and any Chicagoan will know that proper bread for da beef is just as important for this sandwich! However, there are better options for beef in the area. The Dog Stop in north dallas uses actual vienna beef products and is the closest to the real thing that I have found (be sure to have motz on hand though). The deep dish pizza was just ok. The cheese was good, the sauce was good, but something about the crust just didn't quite make it a true Chicago pizza. I'm sure there aren't a whole lot of deep dish pizza options around this area, so this is probably the best that anyone is going to get. Prices seem reasonable, and the people working there seemed nice. Probably won't be back anytime soon though.

Finally a place thats as good as the pizza I had while living in Chicago. OK its not quite as good however its very very close. (Sorry I love Ginos East and Bacinos). This is the best Chicago style pizza I have had outside of Chicago and the best in Dallas most certainly. The staff is friendly as well. Unfortunately its hidden from the busy Addison street however I hope you take the time to find this hidden gem. .

I've lived with my family in Texas for 8 years after moving from Chicago. And after 8 years of looking for a fantastic chicago pizza place we have finally found it. This restaurant would be a top of the line joint in Chicago and for me deserves a 5 out of 5 stars. Not only was the food great, so was the service. Our server Suzana was a wonderful server and a great hostess.

Best piZza in town hands down. Maybe better thank Chicago itself. Have no idea never been there. Haha. Bit solid food for a reasonable price. If I wasn't such a fatso 3 people could have eaten of a small deep dish Chicago style and fried mushrooms Emin is the man. Enjoy

Wow! I used to eat pizza in CHI 3 times a week for 4 months. The subprime that I had tonight was better then any Girodano's I had. The crusts were great and the toppings matched. The tomato sauce on top had nice chunks and plenty of garlic. I had it delivered and just like they say in the Windy City you can't be in a rush. They were at the door in 50 min so remember to plan ahead. The delivery driver was very nice and very "normal" looking. The large had 8 slices and would feed 6 with a salad easily unless you are BIG eaters or are just having pie. We will be enjoying more from here.

I recently moved to Dallas from Austin and my girlfriend and I are trying to find our new "go to" restaurants. Let me tell you, this is the best deep dish I have ever had in my life. This is even better than the deep dish I had at a famous restaurant in Chicago. Great food, great service, and great prices. We will definitely be back!

While I like the Chicago style pizza, be aware that it can take 40 - 60 minutes to get. With kids, that's a long wait! The way around it is to either call ahead to dine in or take out.

Pizza: I think we showed up way too late, so the pizza we ordered ahead was no longer fresh. That was our fault, really. Crust was soggier than I'd like, but like I said, it had been ready for awhile. Cheese was alright. Tomato sauce...not as tangy as I usually like. I ate one slice and I was done, as they are very large. My husband seemed happy with it. Greek Salad: Looks and tastes like it came out of a bag from the grocery store. They didn't have Greek dressing--just balsamic vinaigrette. For better or worse, they didn't mix the dressing in. We tried the ranch dressing and it was probably from a bottle :/ but this is a pizza place, not a salad place. Drinks: No draft beer. Bottle selection of about 6 different beers. Ambiance: Wobbly tables, simplistic layout, hidden deep within a strip mall. Service: The waitress was very attentive. A man also came by a bunch of times to check on us.

Some friends and I visited Taste of Chicago last Friday. As recommended we called in the order for the deep dish meat lovers pizza. Within 5 minutes of arriving we were served what I feel was the best Chicago style deep dish pizza EVER made. It was piping hot and the cheese oozed out when a slice was removed. Later that night, around 11:00, I was still thinking about the pizza. Please know I'm an Italian food lover but for the most part I can take or leave a pizza. Or should I say a normal pizza. This one was too good to forget.

I'm from Chicago so was skeptical about "Chicago style pizza" in Texas. I was proved correct, this was nothing to write home about. One problem with the pizza was that the sauce was so runny, almost like they watered it down. Another problem was that it was incredibly cheesy, Chicago style is not. Though the pizza wasn't a true Chicago style pizza the staff was great! Our server was very attentive.

Real deal Chicago pizza and Italian beef. A lot of places claim deep dish, but the owners and chefs here know the real thing. It isn't the usual so called deep dish with inch thick crust. This is a pizza pie, and has the sign of 45+ minutes to cook. (Call ahead if you don't want to sit). Flavor and taste remind me a lot of Giordano's, and everything from the crust to tomato sauce visible on top reeks of authenticity. I'm ecstatic about this place, and they've had great consistency the multiple times I have gone. The only thing somewhat negative I will say is you do need to ask your Italian beef to be dipped in peppers. They do not automatically do it, but I won't hold that against them as a vast majority of people would complain of a "wet sandwich" instead of knowing this is very normal for Chicago. Also, if you need something to snack on while waiting, try the fried mushrooms. I'm not normally a fungus fan by any means, but daaaaaaaag these were perfect.

I was surprised how good the pizza was. Ever since Pappas Pizza closed a few years back, has been impossible to find great deep dish in Addison, but ToC is almost as good. All it lacks is just a tad more cheese and perhaps just a lil more generosity on the toppings (which are actually bottomings). Crust is excellent and pizza was definitely worth the wait, since these babies take at least half an hour. Next time, I'll call ahead. The counter guy/waiter was really friendly, and we'll definitely be back.

Great food! Friendly! Family owned! & very clean! Worth the wait for deep dish of 40min, or you can call ahead & go to dine in, call ahead to carry out, or call for delivery! Also have subs, salads, pasta & regular pizza! Hard to find! Got to look carefully! :) ill be back to this great place!

Fantastic Chicago style pizza here in DFW! I was in Chicago in January and ate some Lou's and Giordano's and this took me right back there. We ordered a medium deep dish, pepperoni and Italian sausage. We also ordered some cheese sticks. Everyone in the house loved it. I only wish the cheese sticks had come with sauce or some sort. I also wish there was a little bit more tomato sauce on the top of the pie..but that is just a preference of mine, I LOVE TOMATOES. Service was fast, we had it delivered and it was easy to order and came in the right amount of time. We will be ordering this again (..and again and again!)

Taste of Chicago is delicious! If you aren't going there for their Chicago style deep dish then I don't know what you're doing with your life! It's honestly amazing! I've also tried their fried mushroom which comes in a basket of maybe 20 mushrooms! Those are fried to perfection! The place is tiny & hidden in the back of a parking lot which is unfortunate because you can't see it from the highway ...it's family operated, which is so cute, everyone who works there is so kind and genuine.

As close as it gets to Chicago style pizza in DFW. They have a good Giordano's style deep dish pizza. It's almost as good as the original except for the crust and maybe a few other tweaks. I am a Malnati's guy but let's not split hairs. The Chicago Philly - owners special - is very good! It's no Portillos but a great sandwich none the less. They need to get Giardiniera!!!!!! It takes 45 minutes to cook the deep dish but you can't go wrong with this place. Pasta looks good but have not tried it yet.

Wow this pizza is awesome!! I definitely took the tips from everyone else. Call ahead to get your pizza order in ahead of time. We timed it perfectly so that right when we showed up within 5 min our pizza was ready. My boyfriend and I shared a small deep dish and still had half a pizza left. Now i don't usually get deep dish pizzas, I'm typically a thin crust type of girl... however i do love my carbs. The crust had a great crunch on the outside but was soft and bready. No shortage on toppings. Love that their is a generous portion of tomato sauce... bc of that i will probably forego adding tomatoes as a topping next time. The one thing I will say is that their appetizers and salads are nothing special. I got a side salad and my boyfriend got the toasted raviolis. Both were less than mediocre. Next time we will just stick to the pizza.

Best. Pizza. Ever. I had never tried Chicago style pizza before, but after trying Taste of Chicago, it's my new favorite. The service was also very attentive, well-spoken, informative, and kind. Overall a very good experience, and I'll definitely be going back.

Ok, if you want Chicago-style pizza, you've GOT to come here! We did pasta, salads, pizza - it was all amazing. Not a fancy strip center space, not a great location, horrible visibility, but worth finding!

This place is on a roll for just opening up. Fresh ingredients with great crust=yum. The deep dish is the best one your going to find in Texas and their sandwiches are ok. I bout a bunch of pizzas for my staff ( I own a Resturant so we wanted something other then what we serve sometimes ) and they all loved it and all of them wanted to know where this place was located.

Best calzone I have had in years. Definitely will go back. The only bad thing I found was the soft drink selection was sparse but they had good iced tea as an offset.

Well I was the first to review this place and will continue to review it. the stuffed pizza will bring me back again and again. My Texas girlfriend likes it and her Chicago boyfriend feels right at home here. Emen and his family have a winner here. Glad you guys are in town.

Best authentic Chicago-style (sauce on top) Deep Dish in the metroplex. I've been looking for a good deep dish place, and this is the one. It is in a horrible location, so be sure to patronize or they will go away like most deep dish pizza places around here.

Was craving a good pizza (outside the norm) so i googled pizza near Addison & Taste of Chicago popped up. I decided to give it a try. I originally wanted delivery but they couldn't this day due to the bad weather & lack of staff. I understand it wasn't the owners fault so i was ok with picking it up. I ordered the deep dish pizza, italian beef sandwich & a philly sandwich. When i arrived, the owner was very polite & kept me up to minute when my order will be ready. The sandwiches are ok. I'm originally from Philly so my expectations were high for the sandwiches. They aren't bad. The deep dish pizza was great. I haven't had deep dish like that in awhile. I ate the leftovers it for lunch & dinner the next day! I definitely recommend this place!

This place is amazing!!!! The food is incredible and the service is great. Very personable and warm. Discovered this place 12 days ago and had my fourth visit today. The location is a little tricky. We really want this place to be successful. A true gem!

Turned around and went to this place I'm glad I did, I lived in Chicago for awhile and the food there was fantastic and the same here. The Beefs were great, and lots of it. I highly recommend this place, owners and staff are friendly, try it out. They just opened so that's all I have had on the menu, but I will be back next week to try the deep dish pie.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
