The first time I ate at Crust, I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was great, even though they brought me one I didn't order (I suppose Sizzler and Sigmund sound enough alike in a noisy room). However, since then I really feel like the place has been spotty. Sometimes the red sauce is really spicy (so spicy my 6 year old won't eat the pizza at all). And the service, while sometimes fine, has been atrocious at times. Once we went in, sat at a table and waited for at least 25 minutes for someone to come help us while the server took pizza to the three other filled tables (understandable) and cleaned the dirty tables in the restaurant (less so). We ended up walking out when another party came in and was immediately helped, while we continued to sit. If it had been crowded, I could have excused it more, but given that the place was practically empty... I will say, however, that the lunch buffet is a nice choice and I've always received good service at lunch time. Overall, we would still go back, because it is a fairly good option for Sewanee, but sometimes it doesn't leave as good a taste in our mouths as we would like.

After being disappointed with many other food choices in Sewanee, I was pleasantly surprised with Crust Pizza. I love thin crust pizza so I was hoping to fall in love immediately. It is not the best pizza I have tried, however I am positive that it is the best in the area. The buffet option gives you unlimited pizza with many popular and yummy flavors and also a side salad. The service was friendly andit ended up being a great lunch option. I'm sure I will return when I am in the area again.

Pizza crust as thin as a cracker, and they didn't burn it! Generous toppings, fresh and delicious! They also serve pasta but I did not try it. All in all: Food -- 5+ Service - 4 Atmosphere - 3 (it's a student place after all, so needless to say chairs/ booths are not too comfy and the music is sooooo loud you can barey talk)

Wow! Who would have thought you could get pizza perfection in a town as small as Sewanee, Tennessee? The "cracker-thin" crust might be their claim to fame, but the meat toppings were HUGE, the sauce was seasoned just right, and the service was fantastic. Worth a drive to Sewanee just for the pizza? Umm... probably not, but almost!

First time eating here after passing by many times. Red sauce is homemade and the crust is craka-crunchy. Great stuff, will stop by again!

"What's a Sleestak?" "One of their pizzas....or an alien life form from a 70's TV show..." Their hummus appetizer was delectable. We all opted for the lunch time buffet. A great choice. Not a bad slice in sight! If I ever get back down that-a-ways, I *must* order the Sleestak pizza. I can't remember what's on it...but come on....it's just begging to be eaten!

An interesting experience. When we arrived, there was no one inside, so we walked around to find all 3 employees having a smoke break around a picnic table. Our server was clearly ill (hopefully only alcohol related?), never said a word to us, dumped our pizza on the table and walked away. I am choosing to believe the giant cockroach in the bathroom did not have family in the kitchen. Our pizza was great, but worst service I've ever seen.

Hate to leave a bad review but don't waste your time or money, bad/careless service and not so great pizza..

My hiking group has gone here for years after hiking nearby, and even though the service was sometimes slow and indifferent, the pizza is great, so we always overlooked it. After last night, I think it's safe to say that we're all done with Crust forever. Eight of us arrived at 5:00. The place was pretty crowded so we assumed we'd wait a while for drinks and to order, and we did. Some of us got salads and some got pizzas. The salads came within 20 minutes, but no pizzas. These weren't before-a-meal salads but entree salads, so everything should have come out at the same time, but this is Crust - the servers never really know what they're doing. But the salad-eaters finished eating and we all waited and waited... finished our beers... drank our waters dry... grew weak with hunger... Our server seemed to have become kitchen staff as she was helping to make pizzas for over an hour and never again came back out to check on us. Long story short, the other server wouldn't help us, just made excuses, our server wouldn't help us or even tell us when/if we would ever get pizzas, there was nothing like any sort of management on the premises, they were still fulfilling take-out orders (one guy left with six large pizzas an hour after we had ordered), and the whole restaurant turned over around us and our server never came back to our table again. An hour and 45 minutes after arriving, we left, half of us never having gotten a crumb to eat, and went elsewhere to find food. So, needless to say, I will never go back to Crust, never recommend Crust, and I sincerely hope that Crust's completely indifferent management loses this restaurant, because they don't deserve in any way to own a business.

This is definitely a college joint. The service has been very prompt and other times not so much. The pizza is very good if you enjoy thin crust and spicy.
