I thoroughly enjoyed all of my food. They stuck us in the back which i didn't like. But the service was great and they got all our orders correct. They had my "normal Mexican meal" on the menu which never happens!! And it was sooo yum. Bean burrito smothered with queso. The queso had a nice spicy kick to it. The chicken tacos were huge and the beans were awesome. I would highly recommend this place so go eat there!

I think people are looking at this place under a microscope when they should be using their eyes. It's not going to blow you away, but the food is of a better quality than the price point. In some ways, it's like getting a bargain. I was pretty impressed with their Chimi's, and the quality of their ingredients. When I saw the menu I was assuming it was going to be fast food style, but it's not a bad spot for lunch and a decent spot for dinner.

Had the tacos. Wasn't anything special and the meat tasted like they boiled the flavor out of the beef.

It was ok. Nothing special. Would I go again probably. Constructive critiscm when you get a check it should have the item prices and total price on it. Not worked out at the register.

This used to be our favorite place to eat but since the new owners have taken over they spent more time worrying about how the place looks and lost touch with the food. Pretty evident their business has dropped they're now offering Groupons

The food was decent but the service was HORRIBLE! We shouldn't have to beg for drink and chip refills and then have said items returned to our table with an attitude that made us wonder if our food/drinks were compromised.

As with all mexican restaurants LOVE them! This one was good. Got our food pretty fast but the service thereafter went down hill. This was the only authentic mexican restaurant we saw in the area and of course had to try :)

The food was good, and hot. Only one waitress to be seen for the whole restaurant on Cinco de mayo! Didn't see her after we got our food. Had to wait for the check, glad I was on vacation and had no where to be.

Oh my goodness... Where do I even begin?! First, lets start this review off on a positive note - the service was great! Our waiter was very kind and managed to give us great service despite the mild language barrier (as expected at any real Mexican restaurant). He answered all our questions and kept the chips and salsa coming. The salsa was pretty good. It wasn't too thick but it wasn't watered down like some Mexican restaurants like to do either. Now for the not-so-positive portion of this review: Have you ever found yourself staring at your plate wondering why the shrimp in your quesadilla tastes like they were marinated in mop water? Well, that's exactly what I found myself pondering after about 2-3 bites of my food. There seemed to be no seasoning at all used on the shrimp, the queso, or anything else they put in the tortilla. This was the first time I ever actually felt my tastebuds dying of boredom. As you can see from the picture I posted, my entire family of 4 ( 2 kids & 2 adults) were unsuccessful in eating our food. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If the end of the world came and there were a bunch of post-apocalyptic Mexican restaurants (with limited resources) trying their best to mimic past authentic Mexican dishes... then this restaurant might be a 3 star. You KNOW you've had a bad experience when your entire family agrees to go to TacoBell AFTER having spent $33 at an allegedly "authentic Mexican restaurant" - dine at your own risk!

We think this is the best Mexican restaurant around! All of the food is really good and the staff is super friendly. Our favorites include the inexpensive "A B C P" (grilled chicken covered with cheese and beans and rice); the super shrimp casadia, the special la casa (beef tips burrito covered with cheese - lunch portion is one, dinner is two) and the taco express (lunch menu). They do not have as large of a selection as some other mexican restaurants, but the food is much better! Their salsa is particularly good - not too chunky, but it's not tomato paste either. If you want to add some heat to your meal, ask for their hot "tomatillo" sauce - it'll warm things up a bit.

Well lets start off, a real Mexican restaurant would have margaritas but they did not. The bean dip and salsa was good but don't order any extra green salsa because they charge you a dollar fifty for each one they bring out, that cost almost as much as my food did. We were not impressed with the food at all. And if you have to use the restroom, make sure you bring a flashlight cuz the lighting is so, so poor don't know what they're hiding. We won't be returning.

Our last big meal on vacation. Considering my exposure to Mexican food usually includes at least one meximelt, don't count on me being the expert on authentic Mexican cuisine. That being said, this place was pretty good and reminded us of our favorite Mexican restaurant back home. Very filling and the kids loved the children's menu. The kids meals varied from chicken tenders and fries, to burritos, to tacos. I chose the chicken chimi with refried beans. My wife got the taco combo meal with rice and beans. Despite the fact that it was near closing time and rather loud in the restaurant, we had a very nice meal.

Great place for a quick family meal. All the usual American-Mexican fare in liberal portions. Large selection of entrees and mix-n-match plates. Service is great. Recommend fajitas, pollo loco, and nachos supremos. Be careful not to fill up on the complimentary chips and salsa or you'll end up stuffed. I wouldn't order the steak entrees - as a main course, the steak is thin, grisly, and flavorless - order steak fajitas, burritos, or other dish where the steak is an ingredient and it's okay. Atmosphere is 'family-owned' - meaning there's occassional screaming children obviously waiting on parents to get off work - but for price and flavor, I can get past it.

Ended up here in search off "non-chain" restaurant. Food and service were good. My entree was little too salty, husband was satisfied with his meal. Good reason to get off Parkway for friendly service and quick meal.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
