I just don't see why people like this place. First time I went, I had the pizza. The sauce tasted cheap to me. I gave the place another chance and had spaghetti. Again I hated the sauce. Both times the sauce tasted like it had too much sugar in it.

Hungry for pizza, we visited Gondolier Italian Restaurant on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We practically had the place to ourselves, so service was friendly and quick. We ordered the Meat Lovers Stuffed Crust Pizza. This was a unique pizza with an extra layer of crust layered on the pizza over the meat toppings. Also, made without any sauce. The pizza was tasty with just the right amount of toppings. If I was to order it again, I would have them add sauce. The complimentary breadsticks were soft and better than any I've tasted. I could have just had these for my entire meal. I would rate this restaurant 3 forks out of 5 for a home town place that serves good pizza. ~Ernie Hiers, Food Blogger at Fiction Faith & Foodies

Our lunch today was a mixed bag. The breadsticks were tasteless and the sauce they give you seemed watered down and cheap to me. I had the Hawaiian Pizza and it was very good. The toppings were plentiful and flavorful but the crust was just okay. My friend got the Gyro plate and really enjoyed it. The lamb was tender and had a good flavor and she loved the rice. You also get pita bread and a Greek salad - a lot of food for the price. Our server was friendly and attentive. The last thing I was to note is the restroom smelled horrible! Like there was an open sewer somewhere nearby - need to get this fixed!

Went here for the first time with my husband and father in law for lunch. Our server Cathy was all business and very nice. We got our sodas right away with a basket of bread sticks and delicious marinara. I ordered a personal pepperoni pizza which was delicious and super greasy. I like my pizza greasy. My husband ordered lasagna which he said was really good and Dad got a Caesar salad. Everything arrived super fast and was great! The desserts looked amazing in the display case but we didn't try any on this visit. Will definitely try it again when were in town!

I was there on new years eve so they were very busy. I will not comment on the service because of the circumstances. I do, however, have a real problem with the bathrooms. The changing table was quite gross and the trash looked like it had not been taken out in a while. It had no liner and was something i would have just thrown away honestly.

Just moved to the area and this is my go-to restaurant for decent carry out. Food is always hot and tasty and there is a decent crowd when I go to pick it up which tells me other people like it too:)

Great place for a good quick meal. Sandwiches, wings, excellent salads. Their Calzone and pizzas are also very good.

This is a wonderful restaurant. One if the eat Italian restaurants I've been to. I love their backed lasagne. My husband ordered the veal Parmesan. They have great house salads as well. They are quick with service. We have been here several times and plan on coming every time we are in Sevierville.

To say I was underwhelmed by this chain "Italian" restaurant is being nice. The cramped restaurant felt more like a cattle chute than a place for a family or couple to share a meal. Our meals we insipid and uninspired. Bland and unseasoned would be good descriptors. My wife sweared her Alfredo was in powdered form earlier in the day. My italian sausage was by definition sausage but lacked all of the flavoring and kick to be called Italian sausage. On a bright note, the strawberry shortcake was divine and the slice was enough to feed all four members of our family. Unfortunately to food wasn't the bad part. While eating we witnessed the host with his hands down his pants scratching. Our server, who was friendly, affable, and appeared to be trying to do his best despite the cramped conditions and overcrowding, was mortified when we told him. The partner in his section was also mortified when she was told. But unfortunately the owner was less than responsive when we told her. "Oh, he's young. I'm sorry." Needless to say, we won't be back.

We have been going here for several years now. I always have intentions of getting another dish but so far have always ended up with the eggplant parmigiana, ample serving and oh so good. Hope I can have something different next time.

We decided to give this place a shot on our way out of Dollywood, and boy, were we pleasantly surprised. As good options go in the area, we are generally unimpressed with the chain restaurants, overly fried seafood houses, and steaks that are the size of your head. When we walked in, the owner greeted us and our two children in a genuine manner, stating, "Your first time here? I'll have you under my spell.". Indeed, she did. Lucas, our waiter, was gracious and accommodating. One thing to note is that the restaurant serves beer, but not wine. The domestics were varied, but "imports", if you can even call it that, went as far as Blue Moon. Whatever. The food more than made up for it. Breadsticks and marinara were served pronto. My husband ordered a Mediterranean souvlaki plate with chicken and a fresh salad with feta. I had the Chicken Scarparielli, which was a rich dish of chicken, some of the best Italian sausage ever, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and a great sauce with rigatoni. My son had pizza, which was thin crust with thick outer crust (great sauce), and my daughter had rigatoni with meat sauce, which I tried to eat, but she wouldn't let me. We are very particular about food, and we were completely satisfied. The prices were reasonable, portions hearty but not obnoxious, and the service was great. We will be back when in the area.

We found this place last year on Yelp and it was good then, so this year we can back during our trip. They bring breadstick right to your table when you sit down. Everything we had is great!!!

We had lunch/dinner 3 times at this restaurant due to the selection and quality. The pizza and spinach pie were our favorites. We also tried the lobster ravioli which was good and the Greek salad - also very tasty. The breadsticks with marinara sauce served complimentary is nice. The service was always good and the prices were fair as well. There is a good variety so everyone should find something they like here.

Great place for a lunch salad. I usually get the Gondolier Specialty salad which is a Greek salad with gyro meet added on top. Delicious and a bargin at $.630. The salad is large with all of the Greek salad trimmings such as feta cheese and olives. Top it with their tangy Italian dressing and you can't miss. All the food looks decent and they serve bread sticks and red sauce for dipping. I'll be back...

Good food. Marinara is thin. I think the Dressings are better to dip my bread in. I could drink the italian. Spaghetti sauce also runny. But he Gondolier special pizza is wonderful. I also enjoy their grilled chicken salad. Homemade desserts that are very enticing. Wait staff has always been friendly but the employees that ring you out could be better.

We ordered a bunch of pizzas from this place tonight and I though it was really pretty good. We had a bunch of family playing cards and got a pretty good variety, but my favorite was the cheese. I'm from NJ/NY area originally and I thought their cheese and crust was some of the better I've had outside the area.

The Gondolier is off the main strip of tourist locations in Sevierville. Although we were tourists, we saw many families and local patrons in the restaurant. Our waiter was new to the restaurant, but helpful and eager to get more help if needed. We were brought breadsticks right away, with a marinara dipping sauce. The sauce has the orange color of a canned sauce, rather than a typical deep red of a marinara, but the taste was good and not too sweet. The bread sticks were excellent. They were not slathered with butter or oil, or garlic or salt, nor were they simply sticks of baked pizza dough. They were fluffy with a good crust. Carol started with a garden salad, which was good and plentiful. I got a Greek Salad. It had the ingredients of a Greek salad - feta cheese (a bit slight), green peppers, Greek olives and such - but not the typical makeup. It seemed to be built on the garden salad, but tasted fine. Carol had a beautiful plate of chicken tortellini, which she enjoyed. I had a meatball calzone. It contained plenty of good meatballs, and mozzarella and ricotta cheese. It was of moderate size, which some would call big, but not the extra large that some restaurants serve. In any case, it was sufficient and tasty, with more of the marinara sauce. The deserts at the Gondolier are huge - cake, cheesecake and pie. We shared a piece of pumpkin cheese cake that was real good, as was the restaurant.

We are cabin owners and whenever we get away from work and head to TN this place is our "comfort place". The Price and portions are amazing for good food. The Greek salad is never a disappointment and the spinach pie is always a must. Typical taste of Italy type dishes you can get at Olive Garden but it is locally owned and family style. The draw in the beginning was bring your own bottle of wine. As I said we have a cabin yet live in South Florida For years we had to suffer through a good meal without a glass of wine yet here for $2 assist fee I can bring my own and enjoy.

Forget Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. This is the place to get pizza in Sevierville. I have eaten here several times and never had a bad experience. The calzones are good and the baked spaghetti is awesome. Your meal starts out with bread sticks and marinara. Oh and the Antipasto salad is good, too. For desert there is a cake it's raspberry chocolate or something like that and it is great. It's relatively inexpensive for the quality of the food. The atmosphere is very casual. There is no bar, but there are 2 tv's in the restaurant.

I really appreciate complementary appetizers in restaurants, especially when dining out with my kids. ( Oh, who am I kidding ?I'm just as hungry and impatient as they are!) The fresh baked breadsticks were a welcome treat and let me know right away that I should take a chance on their pizza because I could count on excellent crust. We were not disappointed.
