Pretty cool place to grab a bite and some beers and listen to live music or watch sports! Vegetarians, they have some options for us: cheese dip, cheese fries, jalapeno poppers, salsa, guac, three different kinds of quesadillas (and you could probably vegetarian-ize any of the pizzadillas), three sandwiches (pb&b, grilled cheese, and a veggie sandwich), and salads! Happy hour is Monday - Saturday, 2-7, with some pretty good deals!

Awful. Ignored by bartenders for a good ten minutes. Then failed to check I.D.'s. First and last time we'll be in. Nothing more left to say about this place.

The food was exceptional! I got a chicken and avocado sandwich with fries (probably some of the best I have ever had). The sandwich was large enough to take some for later. My only complaint is that I went during the lunch hour and sat outside. It was not very busy, and the waitress was not very attentive despite the meager crowd. The food was delicious if you're looking for a nice light lunch though!

Great music and pretty good appetizers. Not amazing but a great atmosphere to grab a bite to eat and listen to live music. A good experience overall. Glad we found it.

Great service, excellent guacamole! Very casual laid back atmosphere. Live music and pretty good food.

Fun college type bar. The place is HUGE! We came in after the live music and before the real clubbin crowd, which was great for us. We even had some fries which were really good. Nice way to soak up the booze before...more booze. They serve drinks in plastic cups, shots in paper cups. Not my favorite, but definitely fitting the type of bar and crowd. The bartenders were *lightning* fast and kept track of our tab perfectly. The music was loud, servers were quick and the beer was cold. No complaints! Looks like a great setup for bands in the back. We'll be back to see some live tunes for sure.

This is the only bar downtown where the tables and walls aren't sticky and old. Very clean, rustic and modern. They have two stages (front and back), and the brands that we saw didn't disappoint either night vs finding a hit or miss band trying to hop around all the other crusty bars. Yes, the other bars are vintage and have character- if it's your first time in Nashville you still should go check them out. However, ending the night at the Tin is probably the best way to go.

I just had to change my original post. Tin roof is good for multiple things the perks I've experienced over the few times I've gone: going out and dancing/partying in the upstairs bar area, catching/playing a show (writers round) downstairs, and the Monday night social. It's a great way to network and hang with other songwriters& artists. I judged this place too quickly off of one visit a couple months ago and for some reason I could not find a way to delete my original review. I still have yet to try the food! Prices seem good, drinks are pretty strong!

I'm a wing snob and approve of these! The sauce was spicy, tangy and the wings had a good crispiness to them. They were also super saucy and not dry, which I loathe! Most of the menu items sound delicious, too. Service was friendly and next time I am in Nashville, I'd come here at night to check out the live music!

Lost my credit card, still charged me for my entire tab. I gave up after several attempts to get redress from management and staff. Was towards the bottom of my list even when I was still a howling wildebeest of a Vandy grad student. It's a bit like Fireball. Terrible even when you were in college... now even less appealing.

Good night time bar. If you are a smoker you can go outside and smoke. You may see a country music star occasionally. Big mixed drinks. Cabs are always available.

This was my favorite bar when I lived here a few years ago, and I was super excited to come back while in town for the weekend, but was kinda let down. Maybe because I felt way older than the rest of the crowd? Or maybe because the drinks we ordered were disappointing? Not sure, but it just wasn't the same. Maybe it was just an off night. The band was awesome though. And it was never too crowded to dance or wait for drinks. I would go back for the band, but next time I will know not to hype it up as "the best bar ever" to my friends.

Fun place, memo to self - if there is a bouncer outside, the place is more fun.

  • MacKenzie T.

Really enjoyed this bar. Bartenders are attentive and fast and make a great drink. Band was awesome and the atmosphere was great, my entire group had a really great time. Those who wanted to dance could dance and those that wanted to chill had room to do so. I also loved that the band didn't just play country music like every other bar on Broadway. Great bar, I will go back when I'm back in town.

We came on a Tuesday night for Lightning 100's beer, bands, and bingo. The green room was pretty deserted when we got there a bit early, but people trickled in as the night went on. They had a $3 leinenkugel special and a $5 blue chair bay rum special. So not bad prices for the promoted drinks, but I didn't look at the other options. Our server was attentive and made sure we had what we needed, but if it weren't for the bingo, we probably wouldn't make a habit of coming here (mostly because we're not really bar people).

Tin Roof is tucked down at the bottom of the ever changing Demonbreun (street?) and has somehow managed to outlast a good number of other bars on this strip of businesses, so they must be doing something right! I find a good number of people planning to go here, but it's just never my go-to place. Drinks are about what you'd expect and I can't remember the food, so that tells me it's probably OK. Just seems rather middle of the road all around. They have a lovely patio area and a "green room" that they've added on that is nice. Tin Roof also has live bands and music and can be a fun night out. Maybe now that my BF lives in the Gulch I'll head over here more... we'll see!

Typical college bar - I didn't think it was anything special. Came here with a large group for dinner and beers. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. There was a band playing in the background that was pretty terrible so it was somewhat annoying to have to listen to that while eating. Probably won't come here again unless I'm completely inebriated.

Didn't do dinner just drinks and for music. Atmosphere and decor is awesome. Band the night we were there was awesome! Recommend!!!!

Coming from Chicago for a Bachelorette party of 17 girls, you know that what can go wrong, will go wrong! I had verified via email twice prior to our visit a table at the Demonbreun Tin Roof address. It was the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend, during a Tennessee football game, and a packed place. Since I could not find the hostess, I asked the bartender about our reservations (with 16 girls piled behind me). He had no idea of our party, grabbed my phone with the email confirmation thread on it, and disappeared. A few minutes later, the manager, Josh, came back and said they didn't know anything of our party and had a packed house. The woman who had emailed me back was new and forgot to forward it to him. After he rushed around and came back a few more times, he offered to buy us all a round of drinks (17 mixed drinks!) and quickly started setting up tables in the back room. We ended up having our own section, played our own music, had our own waitress, and danced in our own area. Josh comped 4 baskets of chips and queso, and even grabbed us all a fireball shot after the bride drunkenly yelled for some. He handled the situation fantastically and we were beyond impressed. It turned out better than we had even hoped! Now that is great customer service. (And the food was good!)

The ultimate blended three star review (five stars once, one star once). Came in on back to back nights. First night the DJ and live bands were both great and had the whole place dancing and in a great mood (five stars). The very next night the DJ was just awful. Playing such terrible music literally no one was dancing and just standing around hoping he would play something decent. This went on for over 2 hours. Bands were better, but just ok that night.

***Tin Roof is an okay casual bar and grill for nearby residents or workers, but there is much better food elsewhere in Nashville that is more reflective of the local cuisine and ingredients*** Tin Roof looks like a garage from the outside with all of the aluminum/metal (lots of aluminum/metal on the inside too), but it is actually a spacious dining establishment for casual food (sandwiches, wraps, pizzas, and quesadillas) and live music. The restaurant has kind of a kitschy feel with all kinds of retro decoration on the walls (not sure if the decoration is authentic or not). There is even a Breathalyzer on the wall. At lunch, Tin Roof draws a young, hip and casual downtown Nashville crowd. As mentioned, the restaurant features casual food. It is American bar and grill food with mostly bar and grill ingredients integrated with each plate of food (even quesadillas and pizzas). Tin Roof appears to specialize in sandwiches and they have a great variety of them including standard, found-everywhere sandwiches like an Italian sub and a turkey club as well as more hard to find items like a Reuben made with turkey. All of their sandwiches can be made into wraps so I took their buffalo chicken tenders sandwich and turned it into a wrap. The kitchen tosses chicken tenders in your choice of sauce and I opted for the traditional buffalo style hot sauce. I had them remove the cheese and add lettuce. The wrap was good. It did not feel full enough though. I would have preferred a tighter wrap with not necessarily more chicken but more crisp and cool shredded lettuce to provide a satisfying contrast to the hot sauce chicken. Still, the lettuce was fresh and the tortilla was not dry or stale. I thought the chicken tenders were nicely prepared. The batter had a great crunch and was not too heavy. The chicken itself was moist. The hot sauce was nothing particularly unique, but it was satisfying enough if you like this type of heat. They generously applied the hot sauce so it was a hot sandwich. Ranch sauce was provided on the side for dipping. I would have preferred a blue cheese sauce, which I think would have been a more satisfying compliment to the chicken. Sandwiches come with fries, but they are the crinkle cut, Ore-Ida style fries so I had them substituted for tortilla chips and salsa (the menu indicated that their chips and salsa are made fresh everyday). Unfortunately, I found the chips and salsa to be disappointing. The salsa did not have much heat or spiciness and while the chips were thin, they had kind of a stale crunch (it might just have been from how the chips were fried). Service was very pleasant and the food came out quickly. Unfortunately, servers were hard to track down at times--understandable perhaps given the size of the restaurant and the huge plastic cups used for water, soft drinks and such. Prices are reasonable though it is not a significant amount of food served at lunch. Tin Roof is a decent and quick lunch spot and a good option for people who work or live in the area. If you are visiting Nashville though, you might want to seek out other options because there is much better and more local food elsewhere in Nashville. I believe free street parking is available. I do not know if Tin Roof has its own parking lot.

This place is rad. I usually come here once a year just because I'm from out of state. I love the down to earth, Nashville feel. I usually never remember leaving this place! You'll also catch some of today's biggest country music singers or musicians in there. Awesome place!

Worst place to go for Sunday Football. Not only is the service very poor, this locations "Green Room" was the only area open, and the staff was unwilling to change any of the channels to display different games. The fact that only the Green Room was open was not explained to any of the guests, which had many of them leaving upon arriving. No sign was placed on the entrance to Tin Roof so over 30 different groups tried to open the locked door and left while I was in the facility. In regards to the games on the TV and not willing to change channels. It is understandable if that is an established rule but about 10 minutes after we arrived, a different person asked to change a game to another and her request was granted. Needless to say, I was not impressed. I would recommend going to Tin Roof in Lexington/Cincinnati/Louisville before Nashville.

Went during lunchtime, the place was pretty much full, but didnt feel packed in like sardines like other places. Brisket Nachos were very yummy! Happy hour prices were good. No beer on tap :-( but that seems to be a Nashville thing. Band was really really good. Went upstairs to play shuffleboard but the bartender wouldnt give us the pucks, saying there would be a private party coming in 15mins. Helllllo, we couldve played 5 games by then!

Had an absolutely terrible experience here. Attempted to watch a game with some friends this weekend, so we got in, got a table and asked the bar to put the game on. Sure, no problem, they put the game on. So we ordered food and started drinking. Just before our food came, they changed the channel and refused to put the game back on. The bar gave us some excuse that they are unable to change just the one TV. They refused to put it back on. We received our food and left. The food was absolutely mediocre. I ordered a chicken and been quessadilla, which was bland, not crispy, and not worth the hassle. The waitress seemed sympathetic and friendly enough, but had no sway over the bar.

My favorite bar in Nashville. There's always something going on, happy hour is everyday from 2-7 and has really cheap beer! Also if you get a chance, the cheese fries are amazing!!!!! I'm obsessed. Only complaint is have of this place is that they run out of their draft selections quite often but for the price, you can't beat it!!

Terrible staff. Visiting town and with my friend who stepped outside to call über for our ride. I was just minding my own business and Was immediately started being harassed.... thinking I was abandoned. to their credit they were trying to line me up a hotel I just played along confused why they were bothering me to begin with. So if you want to be treated badly and put up for the night they are your place! Ummm lose the attitudes dudes!

Visited on a Thursday evening. The place was full of obviously inebriated and loud students. I felt out of place. The food was not very tasty and the servers were not very pleasant. It seemed to me that they paid more attention to the college students and ignored the more mature individuals. I don't think I will be back.

$5 cover to get in. It wasn't even packed. -1 Reeks of barf. -1 Bros with tribal tattoos arm wrestling. -1 Dubstep JUST touched down in Nashville. -1 I literally spent less than 3 minutes at the bar. Walked to the back, made a u-turn, and walked right out.

Tony and I went here on Sept, 7 about 1:30pm for lunch, the lunch crowd was just dying out, some of the tables were full when we first went in so, we sit in the back. Table was too large for the two of us, and the angle wasn't the best for the TV, but hey ...we know where to sit next time.. We ordered our drinks, myself a Sweet Iced Tea and Tony got his usual Budweiser..Tony ordered a "Italian Sub with fries" and I ordered "Buffalo Shrimp Po' Boy Sandwich with fresh veggies and ranch dressing. We didn't have to wait too long, about 20 minutes for our food..so Tony got a second beer..My tea was a large one, so it lasted, and it was really good. They had lemon and lime for my tea which makes me happy.. The sandwiches were large so we had to take some home with us. They were really good, fresh and hot from the kitchen, but Nothing "WOWED me...:", The restaurant was clean, I loved the atmosphere, the staff was nice and attentive. I am giving them a 4 out of 5 stars, I would go again..but I would order something different, because I am always looking for that..."ummmm ummmm nom nom nom ummmmm" while eating feeling and I didn't get that with this meal. But, I would recommend the restaurant again, and I would go again !! The ticket with taxes and tip $35..so I would say average priced.. A little high on the beer...but other than that..." you guys go and give it a try!!!"...and let me know !!!

I'm curious to see how this place will do once the novelty wears off. It'll probably succeed because the atmosphere is nice and the staff is fantastic. The food is only ok, but nothing special. They have all these games available, but half the controllers or games don't work. It can be frustrating.

I would do five stars based on the beer selection, great food, the bar environment, music, etc. But, what I will say about my overall experience, cover the top of your glass.

First, let me preface this by saying most of this review covers this place at lunchtime. I don't drink but love pub grub, so fighting for a table doesn't appeal to me so I just go early. I've never been disappointed here, and I've been here many times. Their cheese dip is just awesome. I can never make room for an order of nachos or anything, so I just order a cup to put on my fries. Don't judge. They do have build your own nachos if that's your sort of thing and you can get just about anything you want put on them. Their quesadillas are great, but my standing order is the bbq tender sandwich. Chicken tenders, barbecue sauce (oh and it's the really awesome, smoky kind too), cheese, and bacon. Then it's put on some crusty bread and pressed a little to get all melty. So good. Lots of seating indoors, a decent patio outdoors too. There's also bunches of TVs inside and music always playing, though again seating is at a premium as it gets later in the evening. The service is always great, whether they're busy or slow the waiters are always attentive and don't treat you badly just because you don't order booze - a huge plus in my book.

Cinco De Mayo Party! The Cinco De Mayo 5K by I Run For The Party brought us to this kickin bar. We decided to come early and eat lunch before the race so we would get a good parking place. There is free parking across the street from the restaurant. Our server was Rachull and she was very friendly. The service was great! We started with the guacamole and chips. I had a music city pizza dilla for my entree. It comes with a side salad with black olives, carrots, and cheese. Of course I had to ask Rachull what a pizza dilla was. She explained that it was pizza ingredients in a tortilla. You know a quesadilla except pizza sauce etc. The music city one had zucchini, mushrooms, and cheese. Everything was delicious. The 5k started and ended here so after the race we returned for the party. The tres agave margaritas were great. There was a latin band to get everyone in the spirit of the holiday. This is a great place to hang out and enjoy yourself especially if you like good music, good food, and celebrations.

Bit of an odd place. Not sure why I paid $5 for a terrible country/random song they felt like playing cover band. The real issue was the amount of extremely loud 40rd old plus people having no self control. A plus is the bathroom was surprisingly cleaner than I expected.

  • Carolyn S.

Just your standard bar, but the food is a step-up from your regularly bar food. I hear you may run into a celebrity here, but I haven't seen any. I would recommend going to an OUTDOOR concert here, inside is a little too small for a large concert crowd, although they do have a stage inside. Went to Bingo on a Tuesday evening, hurry because it fills up fast, although they move VERY-VERY slowly... so plan on drinking a lot or bringing fun friends to be entertained because the Bingo alone doesn't cut it as entertainment.

Great place to end a weekend night (ahem, around 2 or 3 am sometimes). The band ALWAYS rocks, I don't know how they book these awesome acts, but keep em coming. I've only been here once during the day, that was during the Nashville Oyster Urban Adventure Race. They supported community fitness events, so that makes me super happy with them. Despite the huge amounts of people here on a weekend night, it's actually not that hard to get a drink and the pours are enormous. The best part is dancing to the band. Even if no one in your group wants to dance, the music is going to suck them in. If that doesn't work, there's always folks to dance with already out on the floor. A great Nashville spot for a party!

I liked sitting in the big high booths and talking with my friends. The server (Candace) was very attentive even though it was fairly busy. Cell reception (likely due to the "tin roof" ha!) was rather bad for me inside the place, so if you are waiting on a text or call, you might want to step outside from time to time. Besides my Jack and Diet ($7) I ordered a water (sometimes ya gotta hydrate you know?) and it was by far one of the largest waters I've ever had in a restaurant/bar. Kudos to them. We were all in the mood to chat so we had to leave as a band was starting to warm up. They sounded awesome and one guy even had a keytar! Parking in the area seemed ample and close. That's definitely a plus.

My favorite bar in Nashville. When my friends come in to town from out of state I bring them here. Staff is GReAT, drinks are awesome and I love the bar food. I can come here to catch a game, listen to some music or use it as a jumping point to go to the rest of the strip.

  • Lindse E.

Definitely a do-able bar, the staff, in my opinion, always takes too long and most of the time seems put out to have to wait on you. decent patio and decent food. everything is just ok. not awful, not great - best thing about it is the location.

    (3)
  • Paul K.

Hrmm, where to start... my experience with this place has been a long and mixed one and it's not for me any more, but that does not mean it's a bad place. My last few experiences here have been pretty unmemorable - it's been either too hopping or dead, never really an in-between when I go. The food is ok, the booze prices are about average, and when it's nice out it's a great place to go because you can sit on the patio, eat, drink, and occasionally be given a hard luck story by someone with better clothing than you have on. It's a little too nice to be a dive, but it's got a nice home bar feel. Generally you can hear your friends, but if a band decides to play forget it, you're listening to them. That place funnels sound right out to you. The crowd, a couple of years ago when I went semi-regularly was filled with a bunch of people who claimed they were producers, musicians or otherwise people associated with the music industry in some way shape form or fashion. I don't really know, nor care if this was the case, I was however told that 90% of those people are just trying to get laid and throw out the info so it'll get around to starhumpers. At nighttime the place used to transform into an unpredictable bar. I still have cell phone video from a fight that broke out and ended up in the street, police involved and broken car windows. I don't know if it's like that all the time (well, routinely) but the bouncer at the door was quite insistent that nobody come back (11 people went out to watch/stop the fight) into the bar and evidently capable of enforcing it, I pointed out I was just being a dumbass with a cell phone wanting to capture the disaster and got back in. Have been at 3 fights at that bar, which if I am not mistaken is 75% of all fights I have ever seen in bars. The bartenders can (or at least could) be a bit too friendly to some of their regular patrons. As in without video proof I'm not posting what I saw. We'll say half-past enabling and leave it at that. It's ok, I think there're a certain type of people who love this bar with a passion and generally they and I do not mesh too well.. The vegetarian options are edible, but not mouth-watering. So, good bar food.

  • Jason C.

Not a club-goer. Ate there for lunch on a whim while downtown. Staff was decently friendly. Waiter was just going through the motions basically. Salad was FAR too small for cost of 8.95. Food was ok. It's a live music bar in actuality so I wouldn't recommend it for lunch.

    (2)
  • Lyndi S.

If you're looking for cheap drinks, and you're in your early 20's, this is definitely your scene. The staff is friendly enough and they take good care of you. I've heard the food is pretty good, but I have yet to try it, as I've only been there for the late-night festivities. Their Outdoor Concert Series was great - I loved seeing Blues Traveler, and really enjoyed the 4th of July event with Apache Relay and Moon Taxi. Some really great bands come through this venue. I'll say that I'm not a fan of the overall culture/scene here, so that's my 3 star rating. I prefer my drink in a real glass, a seat that isn't covered in 8 layers of dirt, and a bar that doesn't have their bathroom doors missing. Call me crazy! Overall - I'd go here again, but probably against my will.

This place came recommended to us over and over again and it lived up. Great live music, good drinks, and shots poured in dixie-sized medicine cups. Awesome bartenders, friendly security, and even a phone booth where you can snap evidence of your escapades. Such a fun spot to log your first night in Nashville. If you're not in college, consider this your time machine.

You will rate this place as a 5 star joint if the following applies to you: 1. You have done a recent cycle of steroids and want to rock the xtra low v-neck to show off your newfound chesticles and back-ne. 2. You have frosted tips in your hair. 3. You are a gal who likes to be aggressively pursued by douche bags to the backdrop of some hack country cover band wailing the latest 95.5 jam mixed in with f***ed out bon jovi/journey tracks. 4. Your idea of weekend evening wear includes Affliction, Ed Hardy, or a diamond studded dragon shirt. 5. You are a vandy frat bag who got to red rooster too late and wandered down Demonbreun following the smell of skank. 6. You live within 70 miles of Nashville and want to go "into town" for some country music. I think I covered them all. If you don't fall in one of these categories, I would avoid this place like it had herpes, because it probably does.

so fun- definitely a place to go for some fun music and dancing. the "hip hop" side is a nice change of pace for this town! just prepare to be surrounded by a ton of young college kids on the weekends.....

Tin Roof became a go-to lunch spot for the BEST CHICKEN TENDERS IN ALL OF NASHVILLE. No foolies. The accompanying crinkle fries are just divine. The service is pretty good overall, although there is a completely incompetent and rude b that works on Fridays and is usually on the new side. Brunette, ponytail, sour expression: avoid her at all costs. The quesadillas are also amazing (the shrimp is very bland, so can't recommend that one). The Shroom is probably my favorite, but the Buffalo is good, too. Do not order the nachos: TR does not have any ovens in the kitchen, so it's cold ingredients on chips. That ain't nachos, people! The hubs and I ordered them once and sent that sorry sh*t back. Went to TR once at night, on a Friday. I was told it got stupid busy by 11, and that is a minor understatement. The crowd is young (I am not), so let that be your guide. Again, best chicken tenders in town, if that's your thang.

Maybe it was just the time and day I went (Fri night, midnightish) but the place was packed shoulder-to-shoulder. It was so crowded you couldn't do anything. I didn't get what the hype was, but maybe it's cooler other nights of the week.

  • Mike B.

Their pour here is close to a double. The bartenders know what this place is about.... heavy drinking. I haven't eaten hear so I don't feel safe giving it a 5. This is a prime pre-game spot before hitting downtown Nashville.

  • Stacey L.

This place is as generic as a bar gets. If it isn't a chain, it certainly feels like one. But that doesn't mean I didn't like it. We arrived at about 9:30pm on a Saturday night. The bar was busy, but we were able to find a booth to sit at. Service was quick and attentive. Atmosphere was loud and friendly, but not so crazy that we weren't able to have conversation. A live band did come on about 11pm rendering conversation impossible and so we left. Drinks were a little overpriced and not very strong. Lots of parking. Clean bathrooms. In a city with so many cool, unusual bars, I don't know why you would go to one as generic as this. But, on the other hand, if you don't like the dirty, overcrowded awesomeness of the best bars in Nashville, go here.

    Fun band but pricey drinks!

Bang for your buck! Sure, I came in for Yelp Drinks Week so the drinks were CHEAP but I was more blown away by the prices for food! I ordered a salad for around $7 which is pretty normal for pricing but what isn't normal was the massive size of it. Our little group sat outside and everyone enjoyed day drinking, massive servings of food, and great prices on drinks. Seriously, the sandwiches here were ginormous! This girl loves to stuff my face but I could easily split the sandwich into 2 or possibly 3 little meals. Now, that's what I call a bargain son! I also notice that Tin Roof has pretty stellar happy hour specials so I may consider this spot as nice place to start a casual evening. $2 drafts are the norm for happy hour but the specials can rotate. Great option for lunch or weekend day drinking!

It's a bar, people, don't expect gourmet. That said, their cheese dip is good. Extra good when you've just finished a half marathon and want some gluttonous, completely void of nutrition calories. During the day, the place is actually pretty quiet and a nice place to sit and watch daytime ballgames with a friend (you can hear yourselves talk - imagine that!). At night, expect a loud college bar atmosphere, just ask my friend that lives a few buildings over.

Mini Get Away from the Tourist Seen! ...and nonetheless a great place to feel young with all the undergrads... I mean there are times when you want to listen to some good live music (and be cheap), but want to stay away from troubled tourists, that are sometimes only in town to get wasted... I love this place because it's lively Wednesday through Saturday, and usually this is either where I start the night or end it.

I never imagined living in the south. Ever. But being from California, I have found this bar to be an incredibly fun place to go with friends to dance and listen to a wonderful variety of music, including country, rock, and all of the karaoke hits (Don't Stop Believin', Sweet Caroline, Michael Jackson, etc.). Cheap beers here too but what is up with the $5 cover on Saturdays? get rid of that crap. Also be amused by the outdoor patio in the back which is ALL dudes. heh.

Great place to make friends. Had fun the last time I was there. TON of women. Loved the Green Room and stage in the back.

The Tin Roof is the hot spot for music row-ers, Vandy students, local musicians and anyone who is searching for great food and good times. Come here at lunch during the week and it will be full of "professionals" on their lunch break. Come here between 4pm - 7pm and it is full of after work drink-to-relax-ers. Come here after 9pm and its full of local musicians, pretty faces and good times every night. If it is a Thursday, Friday or Saturday be prepared for a tight crowd. This place gets packed! And packed with the younger Vandy crowd. You may get your foot stepped on or your drink spilled...but you will probably do your own foot stepping on and drink spilling by accident. It is a good atmosphere and you are sure to run into familiar faces. What to try off the menu: Quesadillas! My personal favorite is the Del Sol (chicken, zucchini, sun dried tomatoes and I also add feta) Pros: Great menu, reasonable prices (all under $10), live music, convenient parking, additional bars within walking distance Cons: Closed on Sunday (except for football season!) *Also check out The Tin Roof 2 in Cool Springs...same vibe and menu in another great location!

This place is so cool! First of all I hate queso on nachos. But their queso is extraordinary! Omg so good. Also, they have the computer game at the bar, plus board games too! I could hang here for hours. Very laid back place.

I've been a fan of the Tin Roof from the day it opened back in...well...maybe 5 or 6 years ago? Well before the naked statues were running in a circle on the roundabout, "Big Ben, Parliament" style. I was actually there on opening night...ah those were the days. Anyway, it's still a great place although I frequent it a lot less in my "old" age. But, went there last night and remembered why I love it: --great house band, but if you go back to back weekends (or heck, nights) then expect to hear the same exact set list over and over! Always good stuff you can sing to though. --rowdy, fun crowd--great place to dance (college fraternity party style) and enjoy a cold beer --celeb sightings nearly every time I go--last night was Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys (OK I didn't say they were always A-list celebs!) and my favorite funny sports writer, Clay Travis. But, I've seen anyone from Keith Urban to Jon Bon Jovi to Carrie Underwood and one of the Allman Brothers there at any given time. They know it's a fun time! Additionally, it's a great place to eat lunch. Try their quesadillas (the 'shroom is my favorite) or their pressed sandwiches--the chicken fajita sandwich is top notch! Nice patio too, and a great place to people watch. Kids could lunch it during the day, but at night, it's 21 and up--even if you are going to act like you are 18 again!

I usually don't grade bars but after my experience at tin roof I feel it's necessary! THE WORST service from the bartenders (especially the tall bearded female). I love coming to Nashville and enjoy the town, but I will never go back to the tin roof (horrible service !!!!!)

We were down in Nashville this past week and stopped at Tin Roof for lunch our first day. We went back every day after that. The bartenders were outstanding especially Ryan, JT, Josh, Ward, and Alex. I would highly recommend checking the place out. Drinks were awesome and so was the food for reasonable prices.

Tin Roof used to be THE main stomping ground for me. Love the location. Love the cheap drinks. Love the nice bartenders. Love the free and accesible parking across the street. Then all of a sudden the band Henry and the Seahawks went away and it's just not the same. It may just be me, but I feel like the atmosphere has changed. It's still a cool bar to go to, which is why they still get four stars from me. It's just not an every weekend "start the night off right" place for me any more. Boo. Bring back Henry and the Seahawks and I will be there in two shakes ready to sing Dixie Land Delight at the top of my lungs!

This is your typical college bar. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just wanted to put that out there. The drinks are cheap, but the service does not match the cheap prices. Our server was very attentive all night long. I like the location, but its not a bar that I'm going to go out of my way to get to.

Tin Roof is the music business hang. Everyone on the row goes here for lunch regularly and can most often been seen here at night. When it's warm I like their patio for lunch. You also pretty much guaranteed to run into a singer of some caliber that's there to enjoy the live music. As for the menu they have a queso that is pretty decent (yellow cheese). I like their Mexi Salad as well. I'm not a huge fan of their fries or their sandwiches though. If you order pop though, they give you nice big glasses. Service here is never amazing, but it's never bad either. This is less touristy (although they do tend to find it) than Broadway.

We heard this place was alot of fun but I guess we picked the wrong day... we went on a rainy Wednesday and it was super empty & low energy bar tenders. The artist playing though was SOOOO good. And super cute :) We'll try it again tho sometime....

Good god do I miss this place. I haven't really been in a couple of years since I moved away from Nashville, so I don't know if it's still worthy of 5 stars... But even if it's half as fun as it was the last time I was there, it would still get 5. I was just lamenting the lack of good, laid back, fun bars in my life lately and decided to write a review. The house band, Henry and the Seahawks, is just awesome. They are fun and upbeat, and they play good music and they play it well. There is never a lack of people on the dance floor, drunkenly making fools of themselves and having an great time. Occasionally, some of the country stars around Nashville will stop in and perform a few songs with Henry, which is always a pleasant surprise. The crowd is usually young and attractive, but there always seem to be a few older couples getting their groove on as well. The bar tenders are hard working and friendly, and no matter how crowded the place is, I've never had to wait long for a drink. And speaking of the drinks... The beers are cold, the mixed drinks are strong, the shots are tall and the prices are very reasonable. Or at least... That's the way I remember it.....

The Tin Roof is live music joint, labeled by many as a college bar. Cool thing about this bar is the mojo that trickles down from the top. The owners to the bartenders are just great folks. They have low turn over and most of the employees have been there since it opened in 2002. The weekends during the school year are typically packed with college kids testing their tolerance. During the week it is a great place to wind down a day in music city. If you read the other Yelp reviews, it pretty much tells the story of the Tin Roof culture. Easiest five stars to dish out in Nashville!

Tin Roof has some pretty tasty sandwiches and entrees, and while this part of town isn't one I frequent, the vibe is a lot cooler than that of most bars and venues on Demonbreun. Their service is fast and friendly, and their drink prices and selection are pretty standard. Tin Roof has a lot of live music, and the parking lot across the street always has plenty of room. It's a good spot to have a casual late dinner with friends, and it's walking distance from several tourist spots (Music Row, Demonbreun circle with the statue of epic naked dancers, et cetera). While I've been approached by panhandlers outside of Tin Roof on more than one occasion, it's certainly no worse than most bars on the East Side. Unfortunately, that just sort of comes along with going out in our fair city. Anyhow, pretty tasty food (though it didn't stand out, it's better than average bar food) and a fun time. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

This was one of my favorite bars while I was in graduate school in Nashville. Its a little annoying that they make you pay a cover, but they always have live local bands playing and the tunes are always great. Its nice to find a place where you can dance, but also where there are places to sit and chat and just hang out with good friends. Recommend highly.

Thanks to my pal Brian Sanderson @Northstar Studios, I finally made the trip over to the Tin Roof! Loved the atmosphere (very casual) and the Shroom Quesadilla...YUMMY! Head on down to Demonbreun, near the Round-about and check it out!

We ate here for late lunch on a Thursday. The menu has a good variety of bar food with a ton of quesadilla options, sandwiches, wings, etc. They even have deep fried hot dogs. Bf got the hot dogs and wings which were both good. I got a quesadilla which was huge, but it was so good I ate the whole thing! It also came with chips, sour cream and a different kind of salsa that we enjoyed. I'd recommend the food here from what we got and we'd go back.

This is. Great place to go for NFL Sunday ticket! It's never too crowded, you can always get your game at your table. Beer selection is wacky but the food is delicious! Sandwichs, wings, quesadillas; slightly limited menu but great combination of tastes on all items.

How is it that this bar has gotten so few reviews? This one is a Vandy classic. Drop by any night from Thursday through Saturday and you will find it packed with Vanderbilt students. The Seahawks used to be their regular house band and they were pretty awesome (and inevitably would play all the typical Southern anthems that all the drunk students would bellow along with at the top of their lungs). It's been a few years since I've moved away from Nashville, but I'm with Jason P.--it gets five stars in my book for all the fond memories I have there.

I've had a great deal of fun at the Tin Roof. There's something very special to me about a place where I can stand on the seats. It's loud, it's not particularly comfortable, but I like the Tin Roof. I also enjoy the Buddha enclosed in the the plexiglass box and taking photos of friends with it in compromising poses. The crowd is good, pretty much like every place on Denumbreun, and not skeezy like other parts of Nashville. I also enjoy the fact that there's a hotel across the street so I can pass out without having to endure a taxi ride.

The tin roof is probably my last favorite bar in Nashville. The place is 10 times as deep as it is wide and every time I have been there it is just about impossible to move. It is so narrow and always overpacked that it just is not fun at all. The bathrooms are impossible to get and you can never find a seat unless you show up super early. They also charge a cover for a lame house band that plays covers and the drinks are not cheap either. Not that any bar on Demonbreun is great, but Tin Roof is the worst!

Thursday nights with Johnny T at Tin Roof use to be the only place I wanted to be in Nashville, not anymore! Tin Roof is nothing like it use to be! I was really bummed on my last trip to Nashville to find that it had gone downhill!

This is by far a must stop for dining while in Nashville. It has a friendly casual atmosphere and the servers always seem to care about you. Our personal favorite is the bbq chicken tender sandwich. The fries are hot and crispy and come with a wonderful queso dip. Great place to relax and have a great meal!
