Nashville has a good selection of dive bars. I don't usually frequent them, but tonight, I needed a beer after work, so I hit up my neighborhood dive bar, the Tin Dog Tavern. It's got all the usual goodness I have come to expect: a slim and cheap selection of beers, a mixture of Edison bulbs and neon, friendly faces, and a good ol' jukebox. My favorite thing is the assortment of funky chairs in the back corner. It definitely gives the place character. Also, had my first PBR, and I am totally digging it. Definitely plan on coming back here when I can.

NYE in Nashville was more fun because of this place, in particular the patrons and staff. The crowd was small for a big night but that didn't hold us back from a sing along to George Michaels "gotta have faith," a great conversation about "loosies(sp?)," learning about El Salvadoran cuisine and how the Nashville state fair is a great place to have an ol' fashioned shootout. Rachel's neon "fuck you" shirt betrayed her pleasant conversation and bar tending skills and the doorman was also really easy going. We felt comfortable from the get go and would love to visit again on our next trip.
