I have a friend that loves their Tom Kha Gai and currey so I probably should have tried one of those but I went with another noodle dish, Pad (Pawt) Woosen ordered spicy with fried tofu and broccoli, a thai tea and a salad. I knew I was in for a wait because there were two young guys running back and forth with a look of stress though the place was not busy. They offered a thai tea refill which was kind. A single to-go container came out of the kitchen twenty-five minutes later. He didn't charge me for the salad so I didn't mention it. I checked my noodles and I could tell it had no spice. I asked for a container of pepper flakes as I was signing my receipt but told him never mind when he said to give him five minutes. During transit my to-go container ended up on it's side which actually helped drain the excess oil out of the dish.

This place is my absolute favorite restaurant in Nashville. Small and in a neighborhood that only attracts locals (thank goodness!!) it is the only place we will have thai curries in the city. Thai Taste is family owned and ran and on any given day you will find the owner and her teenage daughter at the helm. We absolutely love the casual conversations with Tina and her family. We are protective of this place and on a couple of occasions have let offenders know that this isnt a place for snobbery. You will wait for quality and every time we order we experience new flavors in our favorite dishes. We're not here for chain restaurant service, we come her for the best thai in town and to be treated like old family friends.

I took my 2 students out to lunch today and since we were at the hospital for the day it had to be Mexican or Thai. You know I'm always in for Thai food, so that's what we decided. Right down the road a bit is Thai Taste. It is right off Nolensville road on Haywood Lane. Non-descript on the outside, cozy on the inside. There is more seating than you think...and also...a disco ball in the larger back part. Do they throw festive parties here? Sounds fun! So I got the garlic chicken, hot. They brought out a spice tray along with it in case it wasn't hot enough for your liking so that was nice. However, the hot was plenty hot for me. Plus I liked that the garlic chicken here came with nice broccoli and carrots - some other places it is just chicken, garlic, and lettuce. Nice heat, nice lunch portion. It also comes with a small salad as a starter. One of the students got a Thai tea and they made it with whipped cream instead of milk which apparently is not the usual. But you can ask them to do it the normal way if you want. The only waitress in there was super nice and pleasant and wanted to make sure we liked everything. We did, we did! Nice little Thai hole in the wall with good prices and nice people. Give it a try if you are in the area - we want places like this to stay around!

I love this place! This is the first place I discovered bubble tea! The curries are wonderful and authentic. I am glad this restaurant is conveniently located on the south side of town and close to my house. I hope to visit this place many times in the future!

I find the food great. Large portions (not that this is a plus, just a fact). Nice staff. They put a lot of effort into the food.

Back when we lived it Lenox Village & it was always great. The place was never packed but the stuff was attentive & friendly. The portions were large & the place was clean. It kind of got a little odd at the end because they wouldn't be open on certain days or open for lunch one day & not the next. I've now just realized that Thai Taste has closed down & it's now called Thai Ville. If you're looking for Thai in the area you'll want to search for that one & not this one as its now CLOSED.

We were really excited to try this place out after reading (most of) the Yelp reviews. Maybe we should give it one more shot, but we weren't that impressed by our dinner. It's definitely cheap and service was slow, but we're all about the food when visiting family-run, small places like this. If the food was great, we'd gladly overlook slow service - and actually, what they lacked in speed, they made up for in friendliness. They started us with a nice small salad with a delicious sweet dressing. That was kind of the highlight - unexpected and really good. The fried calamari was also good, with a crisp breading and sweet/spicy sauce. It was the entrees that were ho-hum. I had paht mee mao, medium spice - a noodle dish with beef and veggies. Despite the other reviews warning about the spice level, I was really underwhelmed by the spice in this one. Had to doctor it with the spices at the table. The beef/veggies were fine, but not too exciting. My wife had the shrimp pot, one of the more expensive items on the menu at $13.50. It was fine, with lots of ginger, large shrimp and some veggies, but there wasn't a lot of flavor to the sauce. She didn't want it spicy (as in hot-spicy) but it seemed to be lacking a little flavor-spice. Overall, a fine dinner and we may go again since it's close to home for us, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.

Service was very slow and received my food cold. I had pepper steak and it lacked flavor, very bland, and tough. I also had their crab ragoons, to sweet for my liking. I've had better Thai and this place doesn't qualify as Thai food to me.

Alright so I'll admit that I got scared by a couple reviews I saw on the spiciness and only got the food "hot" as opposed to "native Thai". I was honestly a bit disappointed, and ya'll lied to me - without exaggeration, I could not taste any spiciness in the food whatsoever. Maybe I'm too young and it doesn't bother me, but man I wanted to pull out some cayenne and throw it on there. We started off with crab rangoons, which were actually pretty taste, because of the cheese. Couldn't really taste the crab. I don't get this too often - is it supposed to only have tiny tiny pieces of crab inside and be mostly all cheese? For the entree, we got the fried rice with chicken, hot, and the Signapore Noodles, hot. I actually really liked the noodles at first, but then about halfway they started getting ridiculously salty and I really couldn't eat them anymore. I feel like that shouldn't happen. Meanwhile, the fried rice was okay. Pretty much just that. It tasted pretty okay, nothing really spectacular about it. The waiter was pretty nice I guess, though maybe the reason nothing was spicy was because she misunderstood us? Somehow, both of us? I don't know. This place is essentially just "OK", but the small things I mentioned make me say its a bit below just "OK". Maybe for Nashville it's good, but not comparing to the Thai food I've had in other places.

True to what ha been said this food has some heat. So I ordered mild and it stil gave me hot flashes. When I walked in the place had a variety of "personalities" present (only two tables had patrons and one person at the sushi bar). I don't think I will be brave enough to eat the sushi. Doesn't seem the place gets enough business to do fresh sushi (as fresh as it can be for Nashville). I was ordering to go. I ordered some dumplings made with chicken and shrimp. They were overcooked, the wrapping was soggy and the filling was a little to firm. I also ordered the red noodles at the bottom of the list of noodles on the menu. I was exited about the cakes that were supposed be be in this dish but when I got home there were none. It didn't take long for my food to be prepared but my food was over cooked which maybe me wonder if I just got some reheated fair. My noodles were falling apart and my seafood was tough. Maybe it was an off day but I don't think this is going to get a second try from me. I will stick with king market further down the road, ginger off Thompson lane.

Was in town from the Pittsburgh area and looked this Restaurant up on Yelp. Reviews were good so I tried it. Was not disappointed. Peanut Chicken was great. Would go back in a heartbeat.

They must have lost their chef.....the last two times we were disappointed in the quality of their dishes.......likely not go back. Do not let the name nor the location fool you. Its doesn't have great curb appeal. However, the food is EXCELLENT! its the best we have ever tasted, even better than the San Francisco Bay Area Thai restaurants. I highly recommend this place. We have been there three times and tried six different plates....all impressed us! Nice wait staff and a real Thai woman cooks the food! Awesome!

I've had Thai Taste twice now, both take-out. The place isn't much to talk about visually, but the food is great! It's made to order, and comes out quick. Last time we stopped by for some Pad Thai, they had our orders out in less than 10 min. The people staffing the restaurant are all super friendly and aware of their customers. I am currently on a vegetarian diet, so I ordered my Pad Thai with tofu, and the hostess was aware enough to ask me if I wanted the egg or not. I was impressed she remembered. The vegetables are maybe not the freshest I've tasted, but they aren't overcooked. The food is well seasoned, and they use plenty of spices. Like many Thai places, they have a scale for spiciness. BE CAREFUL! Unlike many places, when they say "hot", they mean it! So if you aren't into spicy food, definitely order mild. If you are into spicy food (like me), then you will not be disappointed! Portions are pretty big, so if you and your friends can agree on a dish, I'd recommend splitting. I got three meals out of my last order!

Thai Taste is a delightful little GEM! The food is delicious. The service is prompt, accurate and incredibly friendly. There's a vibe at Thai Taste of eating at the family table. It's obviously family owned. And moreover, family LOVED. The decor is simple, but the emphasis is on the food and service. The folks here love what they do and want their patrons to walk away not just content, but truly happy. From the creatively woven straw wrappers, to the star-shaped rice, there's a true emphasis here on the details. As an avid patron of restaurants, I find these little details go a very long way. Personally, I recommend the Peanut Chicken. It's a lightly creamy, somewhat spicy, complex dish of flavors. All served with a generous portion of rice. After writing this (and, consequently, conjuring up my fond memories of how good it is,) I may have to order some take out.

This is a great place if you want a quick taste of asian (Thai) quisine. I always order their Spring Rolls with my dad. Cheap by very tasty; only $2.50 per order. They also have a delicious plate of fried rice although I have to admit I am a little biased towards fried rice haha. I definitely loved their desserts, especially their coconut ice-cream. It is actually served inside a tiny coconut. It's delicious. The place is very friendly since it is mainly run by people from Thailand. The atmosphere is very calm as well so it's just a nice place to grab a bite of your favourite Thai food. :) What I did not like was the prices. Yes, the Spring rolls are $2.50 and it is genuine Thai food but 7 bucks for a noodle soup? Definitely recommend it for the taste alone though.

Thai Taste is in a typical location: Strip mall. The decor is minimal and predictable, the lighting a bit dark. The service is absolutely fantastic - A+. I ordered the Yum Woon Sen salad - a mix of thin glass noodles, cilantro, crushed peanuts, red onions, chili paste and lime juice, served on a bed of lettuce. For degree of hotness I specified medium - which was actually quite spicy. Our waitress also brought us out an assortment of three medleys of spices (all hot) The dish itself was fairly tasty and came with a simple Thai salad of iceberg lettuce, cucumber and a thin, sweet dressing. ***WARNING: For those of you with tender tastebuds intolerant of high degrees of heat, stay within the "Mild" range of spiciness. Do not... DO NOT order the "Native Thai. In fact, don't even order Medium. I would only come here again because my best friend swears by this place - and as I mentioned, the service was genuine and prompt.

Yeah, they make their own tea. Yeah, the portions are large. Yeah, they check on you repeatedly. Yeah, the prices are fair. Gordon Ramshackle would probably change their decor, but why be picky? Thai Taste is a "win."

This review is based on the service here. I sat down and waited for over 10 minutes and no one even took my drink order. Upon looking around at the other tables, I met eyes with customers from 2 other tables who were in the same boat! There appeared to be 2 servers for about half a dozen tables in the whole restaurant, so I don't know what the issue was! I watched as the table next to me was served a pot of tea they didn't order, "Uh," said one of them. "We haven't ordered but we'll take it!" These guys had been sitting here for who knows how long before I got there! After a few more minutes of being ignored along with the people next to me, I headed for the door...

For your money, the best Thai restaurant in the area. The family that bought the restaurant sold their other restaurant in Clarksville and moved to this location to be closer to their home. They have very consistent and tasty food. The service is personable and friendly, we've gotten to know the family that owns and operates the restaurant. For dessert, don't miss the coconut ice cream. It is imported and is served in a real coconut shell! It is a delicious way to cool down after a meal of spicy Thai food!

Great place. I recommend any of the curries they are consistently awesome with a great level of heat, if you want really hot just be ready to cry (assuming you ordered it right). Always fast and fresh!

This has been mentioned in other reviews, but Thai Taste is definitely the most authentic Thai restaurant in the Nashville area. We have been there numerous times now and it has been great each time. The curry dishes are not as sweet as the typical American Thai fare (this is a good thing!). The soups are excellent and the noodle dishes are great as well. The price is another reason to recommend Thai Taste - a good $3-4 cheaper per dinner entree than a typical Thai restaurant, you can load up on food and not break the bank. If you like Thai food and have not been there, you need to check it out - it is a wonderful place to eat and you will love the family that runs the place.

I've been looking for a really good Thai place ever since I moved to Nashville 4 years ago, and ironically I found it at a place I've driven by a million times on my way to work! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is amazing! I ordered the Summer Rolls with shrimp and Pad Thai (my staple). The presentation was great, the food tasted so fresh, and the portions were huge! I was surprised to get a little salad to begin with, that had a delicious sweet oil and vinegar with pepper dressing. The circumference edge around the cucumber in the salad was cut in a zig-zag pattern and just gave it such a personalized touch. Also the straw in my drink had the straw wrapper at the top of my straw made into a rose flower design. Just showed they give a little extra TLC! I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back again soon!

I've been to Thailand twice and the food is awesome. My husband and I wanted to check out this place because we went to one other Thai place in Nashville and were NOT IMPRESSED. This place, however, was A M A Z I N G! We talked about our food the entire way home. I couldn't stop eating even though I was completely full! So excited for my leftovers! The service was fast, the food came out fast, and while I wouldn't recommend the sushi - just ok - I would highly recommend the thai food. I had the Thai Peanut...excellent. It wasn't too "peanuty." My husband had the Masaman Curry, which was great! Had cashews, onions, carrots, potatoes, and plenty of chicken. Both dishes were outstanding. While I will say that the prices are a bit higher than other thai places around, the quality and quantity cannot be beat. I would highly recommend this place. I can't wait to go back! I would definitely rate this place higher than some of the places I ate at in Thailand.

I love this place. I used to come here when it was a hole in a wall, then they had new management and remodeled and it's so cute now. I've been coming here for lunch for about 5 years now. The food is great, price is good, servers are soo sweet. Great for lunch.

OK, here is the deal. I love Thai food, only work about a couple of minutes from this place, and i'm no stranger to trying new places. So why has it taken me 10 years to try this place? Two words CURB APPEAL. And so today i decided to take the plunge, after reading positive reviews about the place. And guess what? This place is awesome! The interior is nicely decorated and clean, the menu is extensive, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I had a fried mussels dish and my mother had the pad thai, both were very flavorful and had some heat to them. The owners were very friendly and you can tell they are trying to do a good job to increase there business. Which is obviously a good thing. So if you've been wanting to try a new Thai place that's tasty, probably never too crowded, and is a good value be sure to check this joint out...

Thai taste is the place to go for good Thai food. The building is simple, the parking can be tricky but what awaits you on the inside is worth it. Friendly staff and your glass never goes empty. The food is delicious and always prepared quickly and correctly.

I went to Thai taste for lunch the other day, and ordered the eggplant dish with tofu, which included jasmine rice, a spring roll, and a salad, all for about $6. I appreciate all the choices Thai Taste gives its customers: mild, medium, or hot spiciness, rice or noodles, tofu or meat. The smiling server brought the salad quickly, and it was just a small bowl of iceberg lettuce with some shredded carrot, but the dressing they used was very tasty. The main course wasn't long coming. The tofu was well-done, but the eggplant wasn't cooked enough for my liking. I ordered medium spicy, which was intense without being overwhelming. I would definitely give Thai Taste another try - my friends' meals both looked great, the service was quick, the place is clean and quiet, and the prices are very reasonable.
