Best Thai food I have ever had. Great Panang Curry. The spring rolls were good as well.

Very disappointing. Everything in the area is a chain restaurant or Opryland themed. This looked promising, but did not deliver. Tom yum had celery in it that was not cooked. Spring rolls were sloppy and tasteless, vermicelli noodle dish, did not use vermicelli noodles and was very bland.

Not much to look at from the outside (or inside for that matter but the food was delicious. The lunch portions were large. I highly recommend the red curry. It was spicy with just the right amount of heat. There is the added attraction of having a go-kart track right next door!

My favorite Thai food in all of Nashville. I'd often get take out rather than eat in the restaurant. Their food can take awhile to prepare so call with ample time. Check out the mini golf course and go karts next door while you wait. When I said make it Thai hot, they'd never disappoint. Fantastic curry!

So we had a conference out at Opryland Hotel so we picked out a restaurant to meet for lunch before going in. Since I was the ringleader, I picked a Thai place because that is what I want all the time. And thus, Sukho Thai. This place is attached to a go cart track, you go around back to drive those. We were a pretty large group and we were seated immediately. The place wasn't packed at all and it was high noon. Everyone ordered various things, I got the Angry Pork. Just the name indicates that this is supposed to be spicy, and I requested hot. It was meh, not that hot, not that fresh tasting, just very average. Compared to the other Thai places I frequent, this falls waaaay short. Someone else ordered sweet and sour chicken (I have no idea why they would do that) and it came out with this red gloppy gelatinous sauce that looked kind of scary. She barely touched it. Yick. It just seemed that the ideas were there but the execution was lacking. Our waitress was nice, but seemed scattered. Not rude but not warm and fuzzy either. Honestly, I don't think I would ever bother coming back here. Why waste my Thai craving on sub-par Thai? I would rather eat somewhere else and save my Thai for somewhere worthy.

Pretty good thai - only had the takeout on a busy week night. Pretty good though- curry is thick and they can make it really spicy. The serve a good dipping sauce with their spring rolls which are always hot and crunchy!

Here in Nashville for the NP conference, found this place close to our hotel. Was looking for something different & this delivered. WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Service was a little slow, only 2servers & 1chef for entire place, and full- but they were super friendly and apologetic. But once food came, I did not care.... I had the panchang? Curry.... So flavorful, I didn't want to stop eating. My mom had the drunken noodles, one of her favorites, and she said it was great. Fantastic flavor and really hot & spicy... Great!!! Don't be thrown by the outside decor-it's by a go cart place--the food is better than anything we've had here so far!!!

Don't let the rather uninspiring outside fool you. Sitting next to the Go--Kart track it is hard to even find the entrance. But the interior is warm and inviting. The food is more Americanized Asian-Fusion than pure, traditional Thai Cuisine. But it was fresh, served piping hot right from the wok. They seasoned it to the requested heat, which is more than I can say for many establishments. We had the Vegetarian Spring Rolls (good, if uninspired), the Rangoon Crab Appetizer (crab & onion in melted cream cheese stuffed inside a won ton skin and deep fried (YUMMY!) The Thom Yung Kung soup was pleasantly hot without searing the mouth and had plenty of shrimp! The Seafood Combo Pacific Noodles were a bit oily, but, indeed, had plenty of scallops, octopus and shrimp. Overall, a pleasant place. Good value! We'd go back anytime!

In my last review, I knocked off a star for there not being any Pad Kee Mao (aka drunken noodles) on the menu. Well, the menu has been updated, and now this option is available. I could be totally wrong, but I am pretty sure the rice noodles are house made (at least they taste that way to me). Also, if you loved to get punched in the face with (spicy) heat, then you should order the Beef Yum (Native Thai). It is absolutely one of the most delicious dishes I have ever had! I also think the Thai Tea is on point here and not watered down like it is at many places.

The place is located near Opry Mills , in a not so classy location, but don't let that fool you. The interior looks good. The food was amazing ! I ordered the pacific Thai noodles and they were great. We were in a group or 6 people and each one of them liked their food. I only wish the service was better. There was only one lady taking orders and serving food and that meant our food took a good 30 minutes to come out. The lady was also not very helpful , when my friend asked for vegetarian suggestions. However, the food was very very good and I will definitely go back.

Negatives: 1) Food took 50min to come out. 2) Wine took 30min to come out after reminding the owner/waitress that I am still waiting for the wine 3) After 30min of waiting she told me no more duck and I had to order something else. Clearly the only waitress I see is scrambling to take orders, clear tables, bring water, food, stand at the cashier. Some customers were seated and left because she never came to take the order. She was also telling in coming customers that the place is full and can't handle more customers. I asked her if she is the only waitress for today and she tells me it's that way every day. she says there is only one chef too. so 2 people are managing 15 tables (x 4 seats more or less). I am giving it a one star. because if it is everyday, HIRE someone to help out. It's not like food is priced super cheap. If you are paying $12 for Pad Thai noodle dish at a Thai place, it is average. and it is Nashville, TN. they should be able to afford to hire a waitress by just looking at how much they charge for food. The only thing I liked about the place was that they give generous portion of rice. Hats off to those from Nashville who are patiently waiting for food and didn't seem to complain even if their friends' food arrived 15min ago and u were still waiting for yours.

Some of the very best Thai I have had in this country. Food was excellent; service was superb. Highly recommend.

Great service! Sukho Thai's lunch dishes are very large in portion. This is conveniently located by the Opry Mills Mall. I recommend this place if you're not feeling like cafeteria food. I always order the chicken drunken noodles or laht Na which is consistently delish!

I eat here whenever I can on my way home to Nashville. It is off the beaten path but worth the search. My favorite meal is the House Special Duck. I believe the owners run the place (wife=waitress, hostess, cashier and husband is the chef). Although the lady is not the bubbly social type, the food never disappoints. I've never regretted coming in.

Solid food and the service was alright. Portions were large; we elected to eat family style and it wasn't an issue.

Food is very good. Place is run by two people, husband cook and wife is server and cashier. She is not rude like other reviews, just busy. Your food will be hot and fresh when it comes. Recommend the curry chicken with coconut milk sauce. To die for

How did this place get excellent reviews? There was a funky smell that hits you in the face when you walk in. Like wet carpet. I got pad see yu chicken and it was undercooked and under seasoned. Posted a pic that shows still stuck together and undercooked. Most of the noodles were stuck together like this. I took four bites and it went in the trash.

Great place near our timeshare (by the Grand Ole Opry). Ambiance was so-so, service was slow but friendly and the food was very good. Ample portions for fair prices. Great beer selection...surprised to see Orion from Okinawa Japan (and gladly had one).

Highly recommended. Great food, reasonable priced. I really enjoyed the Panang Curry. Very nice atmosphere and clean as well. At times you can hear go-karts outside but the windows are frosted so you don't have to watch them.

I usually don't eat Asian when I'm traveling as it can be so variable. I was in Nashville on business and saw this place near my hotel. As lots of people mentioned, the little racetrack didn't inspire me - but I love Thai food. I looked it up here and the reviews convinced me to go ahead and give it a try. I was tired and it was late. The lady working there didn't smile but later warmed up and was very sweet. The place was clean and nicely decorated. The fresh spring rolls were gie-normous and quite good. The red chicken curry was very good too. I got it medium and it was western medium - not Thai medium, but it was good. All in all, a pleasant experience. If I were local, I would eat here regularly.

I'm from Los Angeles area visiting Nashville. I was near the Gaylord hotel and looking for a Thai restaurant near the hotel and I found this restaurant. The food is very good, service is good, the older woman was really nice. I think it's a great place to eat. I recommend it.

Was at the Opryland for a conference and wanted to have food outside of the resort. We were disappointed to say the least. The lady, which I assume is the owner, was not welcoming at all and simply glared at us. The pineapple fried rice was very oily and bland. The pad sa eww noodles were all clumped together. Dinner was very unsatisfying.

  • Eric H.

The food was good and the atmosphere was great. I really wanted to like Sukho Thai, but the service was absolutely horrible. The woman working there seemed genuinely angry that we would dare eat at her restaurant. The dessert was good too, but if you order some, prepare for the wrath of the hostess. It seemed to make her furious that not only did we eat dinner there, but we were also deliberately wasting even more of her time by being so inconsiderate as to order a dessert as well.

Don't be fooled from the less-than-beautiful exterior. The interior is nicely decorated and immaculately clean. And the food: tasty and plentiful!

Great food. Nice decor but nothing fancy. The waitress seemed distant at first, but warmed up later when it was clear how much we enjoyed the food. I had the pepper Steak, the best ever; $9.95. My wife ordered Curry Pork (native spice), also $9.95. Hers could scorch my esophagus, but she loved it. ImPorted beer was a bit pricy at $6-7. Bud etc was $3.50. We enjoyed a glass of water and departed for $25 all included. Great value.

Having had a week trip to Thailand (Chiang-Mai), and been a frequent Thai afficionado in California, I've seen my share of really good and really bad Thai restaurants. coming to Nashville, I actually didn't expect very much, but was quite surprised at how good the food turned out. The thai food was not quite as spicy as I would have liked (they served me the white man's version unfortunately), but the taste was fairly authentic and well made. The service was also fast.

  • Mike M.

Pad Thai very good. Service a little slow. The tam ka Kai soup was good but a little salty. Not sure if that is how it is supposed to be, my first time trying it.

    (3)
  • Joshua C.

Consistently tasty: red curry and panang. Consistently s-l-o-w: the service. It looks like mom & son are the only servers... waiting on about sixteen tables between them. It'd be a much better place to be if they'd learn to hire enough folks to keep a 1:5 (server:table) ratio.

  • George N.

Very good Thai, but woman at cashier can be grumpy. Have had green and red curries, both very good. If you like hot, the order Thai Hot, since their Hot is not very hot. Would be 5 stars if they had brown rice and friendly service.

Yay! Great Pad Thai!!!!!!! Stopped here after a day at Opry Mills, so glad we did! I think the owner was our server, she was super, food was faaaaast & perfectly spicy but not too hot & they serve wine (much needed after a hard day bargain hunting!) Can't wait to go back!

Sorry for putting rain on your parade, but I was disappointed by Sukho Thai. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that their food is good (although my dish - Sukho Fried Rice - was a bit bland). However, I was really bothered by their lack of service. I am NOT a tough customer, but I think this restaurant is terribly under staffed. They had 1 person (a lady) in the front of the house. She seated, served, bussed, rang up customers - she did it all... Sadly, she could not keep up and because she was clearly overwhelmed, her attitude was far from friendly. No need to give detailed examples, but just be warned. I also thought their prices were really high. I paid $13 for fried rice and a thai tea at lunch!!!!

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've experienced. It definitely compares with, if not beats, Thai food I've had in Boston and San Francisco. I came here with a group of friends at their suggestion - a few of them have become fanatical about this place. Two of them come here once a week during the workweek - apparently the luncheon specials are pretty good. We ordered 4 large Orions ($6/bottle). They give nifty frosted glasses for ice water, and oddly shaped (but usable) beer glasses. Adds to the fun. It is a family owned restaurant, according to one friend who knew the owner/waitress. The father cooks in the back, while the mother and daughter are waitresses/cashiers. Onto the food: we ordered family style. Pad Thai, Angry Shrimp, Basil Chicken, some kind of vegetable sautee, and Penang curry with shrimp. Prices of all those dishes ranged from $9-$13. We also got generous portions of white rice. In a word, all of the food was great. The Pad Thai was slightly saucier/oilier than I've had, but it was a pleasant surprise. All of the other The basil chicken, vegetable, and angry shrimp had similar brown sauces with varying degrees of spiciness. They were all well prepared (perhaps a bit too similar, but it was all great, so no complaints). I loved mixing the sauces with white rice. Each table is outfitted with a tiny carousel of 4 spices/sauces. My friends used these more than I did, but it's a great way to allow each person to customize to their own levels of spiciness/flavor. Incidentally, Sukho offers multiple levels of hotness for their dishes, including "Native Thai." I was curious to try this, but was warned by my friends that it was pretty insane. I'll save that for another date. A couple others have noted that it's not super authentic, which I disagree with. The restaurant does offer a mix of other cuisines (specifically Chinese and Japanese sushi). However, I don't fault them for this - after living in Nashville for a few months, I get the feeling that all Asian restaurants have to diversify a bit. Sukho definitely focuses on Thai. Overall, I'm definitely coming back here even though it's a bit out of the way. I highly recommend anyone go here, especially if you're going to be in the Grand Ole Opry/Opryland/Opry Mills area.

I came here during a conference with some friends and the wait was sooo long.... this place is understaffed and for ~30 people there was one guy cooking, one women serving, and one dishwasher. So it took ~40 min to get seated, 1 hour to get our tea and food. One regular customer was really nice and helped seat people, take orders, and get water... the food was okay... most of the dishes were chinese and not really thai, but you have to adjust your menu for the people in the area so its not really surprising... Overall the food was okay, but not great Thai food, but I have high standards being Thai and all...

I really enjoyed the food the curry is absolutely wonderful. ( you need to get it native Thai hot though. The Tom Kai soup very tasty. They are busy every time I go there tells you something hua? Price I would say would be $$ to $$$.

After reading some of the great reviews I decided to give it a try tonight and I'm not impress. The flavor of the food was either too salty or overly sweet. I ordered the stuff tofu sizzler and vegatable phai thai and I didn't like either one. Even my tea got no flavor. As for the service, I got service period.

Sukho is a tiny Thai restaurant next to leagues of touristy type attractions near the RV parks and Opryland Hotel. They had me going with their cute little frosted glasses that they served your water in, their metallic menu, and their elephant tapestries. I really liked the sweet and sour chicken plate I ordered, and while I wouldn't say it's the best Thai I've ever had, it didn't taste bad either. Our server was a sweetheart, even if she did have to tell me they didn't have the boba tea that was on the menu. Boo. I tried my husband's basil chicken, and unless you're really, really into basil as a whole, I'd pass, it 's a little heavy. I've said it before though, let the place be what it is. It's a little Thai joint, not a five star hot spot, and that's okay.

I am visiting from Chicago and stopped for dinner. Food is VERY salty which any Thai cook will tell you is a big no no. It is more Chinese style on stir fry's and they burned the fried rice. Service very slow also.

Sukho Thai is OK and unremarkable in every way, except for the fact that it shares its lot with a go-cart track. The decorations inside are OK. They are sufficiently "exotic" enough for people not to feel cheated, but without actually being beautiful or impressive. The food is OK. You can eat it (except the miso soup, which is frankly, downright BAD) but you won't be missing it afterwards. I can't even remember what I had. The selection is OK. You see the things you expect, like pad thai or tom kha gai, but nothing that might be surprising or out of the ordinary. The prices are OK... see where I'm going with this? The whole visit was just OK. Next time I go to Nashville, I'll try something new.

OMG! This is by far the worst Thai food I have ever eaten. The food was bland, and seemed reheated in a microwave. The restaurant had an odd odor, the bathrooms were dirty, the phone rang extremely loud during our entire dinner, the service was slow and the employees were less than attentive and not very friendly. In addition, I left my Maui Jim sunglasses there and called to see if they could mail (i'd pay for any mailing cost) them to me since I live out of state. they stated they were too busy and didn't have time EVER to mail them....

Ok, I have just a little experience with Thai food being in country several times and sampling everything from roadside rice stands to 4 star dining. The only problem I've had with Thai anywhere else is it is usually sub par and spice for white people, not Thai spiced. I've been 2 times in the last 4 days and both experiences were excellent. I think i have avoided this place due to the go cart track in the front parking lot..... big mistake. The first time I tried the Shrimp & Scallop in Thai Pacific Style with an appetizer of spring rolls and ordered it with the medium spice as I was a little skeptical on it actually being spiced Thai style which is a little hot for the average person. I was correct and should have ordered it spicy but it was delicious none the less and there was enough for a tasty treat reheated later! The spring rolls were delicious dipped in the wasabi mayo or simply eaten alone. For a friday night there was no waiting, service was prompt and courteous and the atmosphere dim and quiet.(which I liked). The second time I opted for a carryout of the Sukho Thai fried rice which was a generous portion enough for 2 but again I had left overs to enjoy the next day. She told me it would be ready 10-15 minutes and was hot and ready when I arrived. As much as I wanted to dig into it on the way home, there just was no easy way to eat fried rice and drive. The rice had an ample amount of pork, shrimp, thai sausage and veggies in it.

Had the panang. Was very good. Not the best, but it was certainly worth the $11 for a very generous portion considering the prices in the area.

Mediocre Asia food, under average service. We are on our business trip in Nashville. We pick this place because of the other reviews. But it is not as good as it should be. The food is mediocre, and you may not differentiate one dish form another since they looks the same. There is only one waitress for the entire place. We order 6 drinks but we only got 4. The service is not nice for most customers that day. Maybe it is just one day but I don't recommend this place.

A good little thai place, despite its weird/crummy location. The staff is friendly and attentive, and it's a welcome addition to the options in this part of town.
