Its a Starbucks! But, its also a franchise. This means they sell Starbucks products, but they do not honor Starbucks promotions. However, this also means price hikes: The price of a tall drip here is 10 whopping cents lower than the price in Seattle! Hopefully, this trend continues what with Starbucks announcing a price increase for their drinks and packaged coffee. However, no free refills, just a flat fee of 55 cents. They do take Starbucks gift cards, but they also do that in Canada. Not sure if I earned a star, though. Will report back once I give Starbucks 24 hours to post the star. As for the coffee, its your standard Starbucks fare. Not burnt, but a not-so-strong brewed coffee. Update-For my fellow Starbucks Card Reward members, you do earn a star upon purchase. Happy Star Collecting!

I worked for Starbucks for over 5 years and am still an everyday customer but this was the worst experience with the company I've ever had. I saw them re-steam milk, charged me for a pastry that they didn't have and didn't offer to reconcile, the register lady yelled 'Jesus Christ' in front of my face due to a confused customer, made my drink wrong (I get a double espresso with one ice cube), and just a very dirty work work area. It'll be worth your while to go elsewhere.

This Starbucks is right across the street from my work so it's super convenient for me to walk over. Yes, it's in the hotel connected to the now old convention center but I kind of like seeing the random people milling around and trying to figure out what convention is going on based on people's attire. It's never too crowded when I go and there's tons of comfy seating to sit around in, relax, work, or people watch.

The ONLY reason I frequent this Starbucks is because it's in my office building. Otherwise, you better believe I'd never hit this location up again. (And I will probably regret writing this review - the baristas will probably start spitting in my lattes now, but it must be done.) I must start off by saying that my colleagues and I know to now visit the Starbucks downstairs (in the Renaissance Hotel) when there is a conference taking place because every attendee is inevitably in line for an early morning pick-me-up right when you need a caffeine kick. So, plan accordingly. The main reason I don't recommend this Starbucks location is because my drink is never made correctly. Most recently, I ordered (and paid for) a tall beverage, but was given a grande. Now, to most, this would be a welcome mistake, but I order a tall so that I'm not wasteful (I can barely finish a tall size) and so I don't drink twice as many calories before 9 a.m. The time before that, I requested no whipped cream and was promptly given a beverage covered in whipped cream. I mentioned that I had asked for no whipped cream and the barista looked at me like "what do you want me to do about it? Re-make it?" So, I picked it up and proceeded to swipe the whipped cream into the garbage in front of her - I have no doubt she rolled her eyes and talked about me as I walked away. Frustrating! I don't pay $5 for a drink to feel like an inconvenience to the barista. If I were you, I'd hit up the Starbucks on 21st Avenue and get the service - and the quality beverage - you want. Or, better yet, skip Starbucks altogether and hit up a local coffee joint instead.

There is, in fact, a Starbucks located inside the Renaissance Hotel downtown. I tried to use a Starbucks free-drink coupon -- the only reason I bothered coming into this stupid hotel -- and was politely declined. They didn't even give the Starbucks member card discount, even though THEY TAKE THE STARBUCKS MEMBER CARD. They wear Starbucks uniforms, sell stupid Starbucks products, and make Starbucks coffee. This location should have a big feckin' sign above it, "NOT A PARTICIPATING STARBUCKS, i.e. NOT A STARBUCKS." The reason you go to Starbucks instead of a real café is consistency in expectations. I don't care if it's a franchisee that thinks it can gouge hotel guests -- Jeffrey Schultz, you're dead to me. Too bad. The smiley barista who made my itty-bitty soy latte was winning and made a nice foam.

I only go here because it's right by my boyfriend's office, but I do enjoy my drinks here every time. They pour a good cup of coffee and I never leave disappointed. Parking is a b$&?! but that's why I usually don't park. I walk. So hey, if it's convenient for you, this is a good place to hit up.
