We went for my daughter's.8th bday. At first.I.was.extremely excited. So much going on to keep the kids entertained. There was a 15 minute wait on a Tuesday but the.text alert allowed a visit to Santa while waiting (big bonus points). The.gift shop is.exceptionally priced and the hostess.(didn't get her name. Short, blonde hair, thin girl, early.20s) was very sweet as my daughter tried.telling her all about her bday, despite being busy.and me hurrying my daughter along. That's all the good I have to.say unfortunately. Once inside, our server spotted three kids and a mom and almost snarled. Look, I worked as a.server for six years, I get it but hide it. And usually even the most disgruntled server lightens up and compliments the kids for being well behaved. Becca never cracked even a half smile and in case it was us I.looked at her service for other tables, nope. Everyone has an.off night. Maybe this was hers?? The food was fairly fast but my well done burger was rare (which you can't serve in tn) I tried to eat it after one.bite of easily the worst fries ive ever tasted (not even warm.and not.good even by the low.bar .of.cold fry standards) but after three bites it wasnt happening. My daughter's alfredo looked....dry. you know.that odd dehydrated look kraft box macaroni has? Thats how her alfredo looked. My three.year old.did order the.macaroni and.refused to.eat after a.few.bites saying it.was "rotten". She calls everything.gross.rotten, it.was not spoiled). Now you have two people refusing.to eat. I.assume this happens a lot because at the check.a.few minutes.later.she refused to acknowledge the two full plates pushed.away and walked.away. at the end of the.meal she asked.if everything was.okay I said not really and got a "oh" and check. I fully planned on.paying full.price.but a.replacement to go or a.sorry would have raised me.to .a three or.four.star. servers should always question if food isnt eaten and protect their tip. I ended up leaving a 15% tip.when I have never left.less than 25% ever!! She wasn't rude, per.se , but the.feeling that she.expected a bad tip and wanted us gone was obvious. They did.sing.to my daughter though, that was a nice.surprise. the.con was all three kids asked to.go back to aquarium restaurant (where we ate two.weeks ago)

Rainforest Cafe is one of my favorite restaurant chains. If you go -- ORDER THE MAI TAI! Seriously. Best mai tais of my life. Bartenders super, super friendly and conversational. The servers at the table were awesome. Food was awesome. I'm a fan.

This is a national tourist chain, so you should expect overpriced poor quality food. I went with a group of friends a while back because we thought it would be cute. Believe me, it was not. They adult beverages sound fun but they are not. It was empty and we were ignored, the service was so bad. I literally almost got up and left. I was pissed. I'd rather walk over to the food court and grab Subway or Sbarro.

No. Never again. The servers were not familiar with the menu (the 3 that I asked). The food is extremely over-priced for the portions. The food is mediocre at best. This place is merely an attraction with little or no detail taken for customer care or any love of cooking or serving. -Shaun

I had lunch here today with my family. Although it lists this restaurant with a $$, it's actually a $$$. I didn't see any regular menu items (other than sandwiches and burgers) for less than $15. For our 7 family members, our bill was almost $170. That;'s insane to me. Also, the food was not that good. I had the Pot Roast, and it was not that good...uncooked carrots and some sort of onion mix, and some sauce...that was about it. My wife had the Tuscan Chicken, and the chicken looked good, but what looked like Zuchinni turned out to be cold cucumber...YUK... Thanks, but no thanks. Then we ordered the Volcano...which was nice, but every time one was ordered, ALL the servers would start YELLING "VOLCANO!!!!!"....scared the living %$^# out of me and the kids. What's up with that? No, I was LESS than impressed with this venue....loud animal noises constantly, just not satisfied at all with what we got, the atmosphere, anything....This will be my last visit to Rain Forest Cafe........

My wife and I ate here for dinner. She had a cheeseburger that was "just ok" and I had the Jungle Steak & Shrimp which was a 4 oz or so steak, 4 shrimp scampi, and 4 cocunut shrimp. The steak was cooked perfectly but the flavor was just ok. The scampi was tasteless and the cocunut shrimp was very dry. I probably wouldn't eat here again.

Children sit wide-eyed and slack mouthed (except when chewing) gleefully pressing their little noses against the walls of the giant acquarium while they eat. The fish stare back, licking the glass. Tourists from Tennessee, Alabama and beyond support the Nashville economy in this family themed restaurant.

News flash: Do not eat here unless you have young children! For some mind boggling reason, I saw many couples trying to enjoy a romantic dinner at Rainforest Cafe. Do not waste your time. To put it simply, the food is bad. It's like they don't even try. My 8 yr old son had the kids' popcorn shrimp and when they set it down in front of him he gave me a look like "you are kidding!". We were starving after driving all day so he ate them, but they looked exactly like frozen shrimp that were cooked in a toaster oven. The other two entrees at our table were no better. Having been to a RC years ago, I knew the food wasn't the star of the show, but this was far worse than I remembered. Prices aren't crazy high, but certainly a few dollars higher per meal than a comparable place. Compared to the quality of the food, they are a total robbery. All of that said, the kiddos did enjoy seeing the "animals" and hearing the thunderstorm. That made it kind of worth it. My advice is to go, spend a long time in the gift shop to give your kiddos the experience and then go eat in the food court.

The food here is okay, nothing really wowed me. Pork chop was raw and we had to ask them to recook for us. It's more like a place for kids and family. If you don't mind listening to gorillas roaring every 10 minutes and kids screaming, this is the place for you. 2013/#2

Tony, Noel and I ate here and we were amazed. Absolutely love the decorations, love the jungle feel and love the robotic animals that move and make you feel like you are in a Zoo of some sorts. The food was good. The noise level high with the kids laughing and crying...the little boy near us was very upset about the gorillas near our table area... but the entire meal was entertaining and enjoyable.

Was just there yesterday and in my opinion the food is overpriced and portions are small. In essence, you are paying for the atmosphere. It's nice when the animals come to life and the thunderstorm that happens, other than that I'd save my money. A good place to take young kids though.

We took our daughter here for her 3rd birthday. The food was great, the service was AWFUL. One, it's a children's restaurant. You'd expect to be able to substitute items. Nope. You pay for something you/kid don't like and either eat it or they'll take it away-but you still have to pay for it and you can't substitute. Two, it was Thursday and empty, but they chose to sit the quiet 3 year old under the scariest animal they had. Meltdowns every ten minutes did NOT make for a HAPPY birthday-thanks a lot. Three, it was our daughters birthday. She was dressed up, she opened gifts at the table, she even had a flashing number 3...anyone care to explain why a $15-26 PER PLATE CHILDREN'S restaurant doesn't sing happy birthday, give cake, or even a darn scoop of ice cream?! I had MY birthday at Red Lobster and got a song and ice cream. My husband had his at a Mexican restaurant and got a song and flan, so imagine our surprise that a CHILDREN's restaurant does NOTHING. Not even SAY Happy Birthday! That was what irked me the most. I get we payed out the behind for the atmosphere, but I had assumed it was celebration friendly too. Apparently NOT.

The place is great for kids. The whole time we were there we the kids were just wide eyed and looking all around waiting for the next animal to come to life or the thunderstorm to come. The scene is pretty cool. Food is OK. Fries were just that, OK. The Rainforest burger was good and the bun was SO good! We also got the sampler appetizer. It was good and the spinach dip was very yummy. The kids ordered wings and they said they were good too. Since we were there for my daughters birthday dinner we decided to get the 13.99 volcano and they brough it out and sang to her. All four of us could not finish this thing! It says it served 6 people and yes it probably could. So if you are with a group I would go for it but if its just you and a guest then get ready for a doggy bag. You cant take the ice cream of course, but it also comes with 3 or 4 ( cant remember ) slices of this brownie chocolaty type cake. SO GOOD! The service was great too. I was nervous coming her and spending this much money after reading the fellow yelpers reviews but our experience was great. We expected to pay over priced amounts for the food considering its in a tourist attraction. But for the amount you get it really was not bad. 9.99 for a pound of wings, 11.99 for a burger ( big patty ) 15.99 for a pretty decent size appetizer, and 13.99 for the volcano cake ice cream mound of gooey goodness. Now, we wont just pop in here when we feel like we are hungry but we will definitely keep this place in mind for special occasions!

I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 because the food price and food taste don't match. I can get better food for much cheaper. I go here for the scenery. It's lovely. I like the thunderstorms they have going. If you ever go, get a seat by the fish tanks, they are so pretty!

Be prepared: on weekends (or during holidays, etc.) you'll have a wait. But since it's in a mall, it's not a huge deal if you plan ahead. Plus, you can make a reservation to avoid having to wait later. What prevents me from giving them five stars is they took their delicious crab dip off the menu, so boo to them. Firstly, their food. The fish and chips are great. I almost always get the chicken Bamba's barbecue wrap. It is soooo good. Very different flavour. I normally hate raw onions (especially red onions, ugh) but they work in this dish and couldn't imagine asking them to leave them off. The barbecue sauce is a little smoky and a little fruity, very nice. Love the addition of cilantro too, it just makes for a totally different dish you can't get anywhere else. Plus, it's HUGE. When you get it, it looks okay. But trust me, you can't finish it (or at least I never can). You'll either need to split it with someone or get a doggy bag. I don't get to go as often as I'd like so I've not been able to try everything, but they do have some stuff that you can't get at other places, at least not at other chain restaurants, like macadamia crusted tilapia, dynamite scallops, and their Tuscan chicken. Their service is great, and the ambiance is nice. The music is a little loud, but it's definitely aimed to keep little kids entertained. It's not necessarily the kind of place you'd go on a date, but otherwise it's fine even if you don't have kids with you. Between all the fish and the fake animals on the walls and such, it's usually enough to keep the kids at other tables entertained so you don't have to deal with squealing kids or anything. It actually can end up being quieter than places like TGI Friday's as a result.

Considering the price points and the fact that Landry's owns other restaurants of much higher caliber (Claim Jumper, Oceanaire, Mortons, etc) this place is nothing but the restaurant counterpart to an amusement park. You are paying for the surroundings. Perhaps a great place to take children. . . once. If you are looking for value or food beyond the average meal this place should not be on the list.

Stopped in for lunch on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. My son was initially freaked out by the decor but we persuaded him to wait it out. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and attentive! Lunch was delicious, although I wish I had ordered something smaller because portions were gigantic. We were very well taken care of, the manager even strolled by our table and we bought the restaurant membership (the server the night before at Aquarium tried selling it to us, but after his pushy behavior we just said "no" to everything at a certain point) But it was a pretty great deal, really, and we'll eat at those places sometime or another so why not? :) Server (sorry, can't remember his name!) was very attentive to our kids, and brought applesauce a'la carte, though it didn't come with the noodles or pizza we ordered, and he made sure we had everything we needed. It was nice to receive friendly service at such a touristy place- a lot of times, that is forgotten in the hustle and bustle. We'd come back here if we drive this way again someday.

I've come to the conclusion that you don't go to the Rainforest Café for the food. You go for the atmosphere. To further this notion, I'd say you go there for the kids as it really is a dining experience enjoyed more by children than adults. The proof is in the silly animatronic animals and the fact that the wait staff refer to themselves as safari guides. I do however enjoy the beautiful saltwater aquariums full of vibrant fish like tangs, trigger fish, and parrot fish. My wife and I stopped in while shopping at Opry Mills. We decided to share a pizza and that was a big mistake. Before tasting it, I could tell it was a cheap frozen pizza. Taking a bite proved the theory. We could even finish half of it and we decided against taking any home for left overs. That's pretty bad considering I love left overs. The service was good and everything was clean. I won't be returning if I can avoid it in the future. My kids seem to like it, but their reasoning has nothing to do with food. They like it because of the experience and I think that's what the Rainforest Café is striving for. I wish they'd work at providing higher quality food escpecially with the high price tag that accompanies most of their menu items.

i wish i would have kept our receipt so that i could include our waitresses name .. she's the reason for the poor review. i absolutely love rainforest cafe, & i was so excited to get to eat here .. but our service was poor. the food was good, not great. i've had better at other rainforest cafes - but it could be just what i ordered. i got the "awesome appetizer adventure" .. the chicken tenders were the best part of it. the spinach dip was ok. the cheese sticks were good, but i wasn't in the mood for em (my boyfriend wanted em, so that was fine ..) .. i'm pretty sure the southwestern style egg rolls were missin a dippin sauce for em, because otherwise, they were kind of dry .. my boyfriend ordered the fish & chips, and quesadilla appetizer. he said his was ok .. we both enjoyed the quesadillas though .. i usually just get the lava nachos when goin to a rainforest cafe .. & that's what i originally planned on gettin .. should've stuck to my gut. nonetheless, i don't give up hope on any rainforest cafe in general .. just the waitress we had ..

I haven't been here for awhile now, but when my family and I stopped in we liked it very much. They have a giftshop when you walk in and once you get in the restaurant it is very cool! It looks like you are in a jungle and every once in awhile all the animals react and make noises to the environment, they play great music otherwise. Like I heard some of my favorite...Bob Marley and other great reggae or tropical music, etc. The food was good and like these other reviews I do remember it being kinda pricey and limited, maybe they've changed that by now! I would like to come back here when I get a chance, I enjoyed every bit of this place!

I guess it's good once if you have small children...but not to small or they will be completely freaked out by the animals. The food isn't great and I'm guessing the only reason people go is well because it's in a rain forest...

I was in today with 3 and a toddler. We were seated fast but ended up waiting for 10 mins before our waitress came up and acknowledged us saying she'd be right back. Before she made it back the gentleman who sat us noticed we still didn't have anything on our table and came up to see what was up and our waitress came up and said this is my table and then said she told us she said she was going to be right back, what did we want right now. She had such a bad attitude and rolled her eyes as she walked off. We just got up and left. 2 of us are waitresses and we were both shocked that she treated us like she did. We normally love this place and always make it a must while shopping but after this no way. Never again.

I ordered the pizza and it was a frozen pizza that tasted just like cardboard. I have never had a good experience with their food. It's not fresh, it's out of a freezer and then cooked. The waitress was very attentive and the atmosphere is cool for kids but definitely not if you like quality food.

My kids love this place! The atmosphere alone can occupy children for an hour. We walk around the cafe to make sure we see everything including the gift shop. It's a fun place that has a great location to easily park and get in. (very stroller friendly) The service is very friendly and the menu is giant. I had the biggest fish tacos ever! With kids I like to eat at places that are extremely clean. Top to bottom every time we go this place is spotless. The bathrooms are kid and baby friendly, which goes a long way when you have babies and toddlers. I enjoyed my last visit and will enjoy the next. However, because of prices I can't give 5 stars. And can only go but every 2 or 3 weeks.
