Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Not the Best in Nashville, but then again I can't think of the best. The "perfect" is definite really good. Actually, I'm craving it now as I write. It is what it is. Decent ingredients on top of pizza dough going through a conveyor belt oven. That's not the most appetizing way of saying it, but MAN! do they do it well. You may be tempted to go down the street to Mellow Mushroom, but lemme ask you this: "Do really want valet parking and pay tip for pizza?" Let's get real, places like California Pizza kitchen are just putting together frozen ingredients shipped in from Sysco foods. So why are we gonna dish out booku bucks for low quality food? Why am I tipping my server for bringing me a plate of LIES!!! Anyways, Pizza perfect is better than pizzahut, dominos ...maybe jet's. And it's the same quality as california pizza kitchen. It tastes good, and it's a good deal... what more do you want?

My favorite pizza place in town. It's the crust that does it, if you like it crisp.

A little disclaimer: I lived in Chattanooga for 3 years, which is home to the world's best pizza place known as Lupi's. Nothing will ever come close to how delicious Lupi's is. That said, Pizza Perfect *is* nearly perfect and comes close to my beloved Lupi's. I like the laid-back vibe and outside seating, as well as the great, creative selection of inexpensive pizza. I have yet to try all of the pizza places in Nashville to find the truly perfect pie, but this will do for now!

This is a 3.5 star kinda pizza place. I am a pizza snob, so it takes alot to get that 4th or 5th star. The pizza here is good. Light years beyond chain pizza. It is a bit oversauced, and sauce itself is very acidic and tore my mouth up. The other ingredients were good, although they skimp a bit on the pepperoni. There aren't a whole lot of pizza spots in that area, so if you are craving a piece of pie and you are in the area, it's worth a shot. Also, if you are upstairs at H-Cue's playing pool or darts, you can order through the bar and they will deliver it upstairs for you.

After trying the Mediterranean Restaurant upstairs and Kay Bob next door, I knew I had to finish this spot by trying Pizza Perfect. And for the first time since arriving in Nashville, I finally found non-fast food that was cheap. A slice of pizza and a soda for less than $7? I was ready to shell out the usual $10+ I've been paying for eating out around here. [How I miss the days of $1 slice pizza back in my college days at Cal...] And it was divine! I had the veggie with pepperoni. I honestly expected them to reheat slices from a whole pie baked earlier. Instead, I saw the folks from their open kitchen working the dough and adding the toppings. I didn't mind that they probably had to wait for a few orders of slices so that they can prepare them all at once on a single pie and then serve them. The pizza had fresh ingredients of mushrooms and peppers and spinach and olives. It was light on the sauce and cheese (at least, I didn't taste much of either). I was okay with that, since I've been having some homemade spaghetti for lunch at work everyday this week and was overloaded on heavy tomato sauce. The place had a definite college pizza joint vibe.

Best pizza in Nashville! Hands down. The sauce is spicy and full of garlic, and the crust is chewy and not too thick with just a touch of crispy. You cannot beat the topping choices. My favorite is the veggie lovers deluxe- spinach and broccoli, sun dried and Roma tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms, feta cheese = heaven.

Great consistent pizza and experience. It is not fine dining or haute cuisine. It ain't even 'artisinal' but it is consistently good. What else do you need? One of the best pizzas in town.

  • Tim S.

The pizza was not bad. But it wasn't the rave the most of the reviews on here think it is. It was hot fresh out of the oven, and though they were really busy, it came out pretty quickly. I had two slices (they are HUGE) and a drink and it was less than $8. But the pizza was just so so, not bad at all, but not amazing either.

Walked down from the CRC for Pizza. Came highly recommended. Nothing fancy. Just good food. Could taste the fresh tomatos in the sauce. Friendly, very family oriented.

Pizza Perfect proved pleasant! On a snowy day off work, I was looking to satisfy an intense craving for a perfect pizza. Funny that i noticed "Pizza Perfect" in a last ditch effort to find food during rush hour. As i walked into the quaint little joint, I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief at the relaxing feel of the place. The super friendly staffed directed me to the array of pizza choices. For just $7.60 (tax included) I could get 2 large slices of specialty pizza and a drink. Sold. (they also have subs and salads). I picked 2 different slices. Much to my surprise, instead of serving my slices right from the displays, they served them up to the oven, making sure they were piping hot. In the time it took me to pay, grab a soda, and grab a booth, my name was called and I was ready to eat. I jetted back to my corner booth with my "pies," and looked around anxiously because I had no plate! but no worries, it is perfectly acceptable (and encouraged) to eat off "the big plate" that your slices are served on. Pizza was good enough, not the best... but not the worst! Plenty of Veggies and toppings! Definitely satisfied the craving. The place was so laid back and everyone was so nice. I ended up staying for over 2 hours reading and just enjoying my lunch. I stayed so long, in fact, that I snagged dessert: Oreo Cheesecake. I doubt it was homemade, but regardless.... it was awesome! This place is very welcoming, whether dining alone or with a group. A great place to watch the game, watch the 21st Ave traffic, or watch a family of 4 work numerous crosswords puzzles (no joke).

I've been in Nashville for eight years and have gone to Pizza Perfect over 10+ times. In the search for the best pizza in Nashville, my date and I came up with a couple categories. Crust - 3.5 - like another review said, it wasn't thin. It wasn't thick. It was good though. Sauce - 4 - sweet red sauce. i really enjoyed it. Cheese - 3 - there was barely any cheese on the Margherita pizza. Which is a tomato, basil, and cheese pizza. Add pepperoni though. it's a good compliment. Overall - 3.5 - toppings were good, but nothing spectacular. Pizza Perfect is a must for anybody who is a Nashville resident or just going to school. The search continues...

Pizza Perfect? More like Pizza Mediocre! The pizza wasn't anything special. It was all right, but it wasn't like it was anything special. I also don't see why two slices of regular and one Sicilian should cost ten dollars. No drink, no garlic bread. Three slices. Ridiculous. Beyond that, it took forever to get. Why should it take fifteen minutes to get these three pieces of pizza? Several people who came after me got their food before me. Unflavorful food, overpricing to the limit, and crappy service disappointed me greatly. Lots of people seemed to like this place: I didn't. It was not that good.

At first I was a little skeptical about this pizza place, but it exceeded my expectations. They offer great tasting pizza. We got the veggie pizza with a caesar salad. The roll was good that comes with the salad too. They have two big screens for game days, which made a good experience to casually watch a football game while eating. The service was fast and efficient and the employees were friendly. The only one issue is that they do not have prices on their menu (at least I couldn't find any).

The Fantasy Pizza is YUMMY. It has sun dried tomatoes, feta and spinach on top of pesto instead of pizza sauce. I'm a crust lover and this place passed the test.

Damn good NY-style pizza. Fold it like the New Yorker's do.

Pizza Perfect's pizza is far from perfect; it's just not good. I used to eat at Pizza Perfect on occasion when I was a graduate student at Vanderbilt, but going back today, I'm not sure why. The pizza was completely tasteless. The cheese in particular was terrible and probably shouldn't be called cheese. My poor toddler ordered a child-size spaghetti. I would never order pasta from a place like this, but he's 3. Anyway, the noodles were so overcooked that they dissolved into mushy paste when you tried to twirl them onto a fork. Absolutely disgusting. I won't be going back. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly.

  • Anne B.

Pizza Perfect has the BEST pizza in town. The crust is always perfectly crisp. I almost always get a "perfect" pizza, which is essentially a supreme. They serve a yummy side salad that comes with a greek-style dressing (another favorite of mine). The menu contains items other than pizza, but I've never felt the need to try anything else here...the pizza is that good! Only downfall is that Pizza Perfect doesn't deliver.

a great place to grab a slice especially for lunch the toppings and specials are so nice you can even go with a bunch of people, bring lots of friends you can sit on the patio, too. and if you fancy pizza for dinner, call ahead to bring a box home with you.

  • John D.

Good pizza. Would have given it 4 stars if the pizza had more toppings although the pizza costs less than other pizzerias. Like the crunchy crust and bottom layer. Small side salads, would have liked to have a little larger. Definitely will return as a customer though.

I've become a regular at Pizza Perfect over the past few years. Nice casual atmosphere, sells pizza by the slice, wonderful pasta with meatballs and always has a game on. The staff is excellent. There's parking behind the restaurant.

  • Brett M.

Gawd I love this place. This review is going to be short and sweet. The food is very reasonably priced(two giant slices and a drink for like 6 bucks?). The pizza is EXCELLENT if you like the large thin slices, and the patio is really nice to sit at on a beautiful day. The thing that makes their pizza stand out to me is just quality ingredients. This isn't some over the top deep dish piled high with toppings going for the americanized shock factor. Its just the culmination of excellently prepared ingredients in every regard.

  • Kyla A.

Whenever I think of Pizza Perfect I think of a logic class I took during which we analyzed their slogan "Looks Good. Tastes Better." Logically it translates out to "Tastes better than it looks" which is not the most exciting statement. Pizza Perfect, likewise, is not the most exciting place to get pizza. People rave about this place and I just don't get it. The sauce is bland. The toppings selection is average. The decor is uninteresting, and the place always contains at least one child who stares at me the whole time. The only way I can still be talked into going to Pizza Perfect is when they have the discounted pitchers. I enjoy sitting on the patio with friends, playing cards, and having a couple rounds. I stick to the salad though, because it's the only thing on the menu that doesn't make me frown in disappointment.

  • Lucy M.

Every Saturday to this day my friends get together at Pizza Perfect. The group has been meeting every Saturday for the past 6 or 7 years now. Pizza Perfect has some pretty epic pizza. Most people within my group go for the mystery pizza, while I go for the crunchy, thick crusted pesto with spinach and mushrooms or just a slice of pepperoni. When it comes to pizza, I believe texture is more of a concern than taste. This pizza of course tastes good, but the cooks have perfected the art of making crunchy, yet fluffy bread. That's the real trick to a perfect slice. On the down side, the salads fall below average, but I sincerely doubt people come here for the salads. The staff doesn't really change at this particular location, so you can become a well known vet of this place in no time. I don't even live in Nashville anymore, and they still remember me! Now that's service!

  • Brian K.

Pizza wasn't good at all. Wife and I ordered Pep, Sausage, and Mushroom. The pizza sauce seemed to have a touch of oregano which both of us didn't care for in the pizza. The crust seemed to stiff and certainly didn't collapse in my hands like I would of wished and the sausage was ground and not the full sausage pieces I am used to getting on my pizza.

  • Chad R.

I really like to eat here for lunch. You can order pizza by the slice and the slices are HUGE. They have a nice variety of pizzas to choose from and the service is friendly and fast. The pizza is very good and I also enjoy their subs too. I especially like the Italian sausage sub. This place is big with the Vandy crowd so there is a mix of students and medical staff there grabbing some lunch. I have been there for dinner and ordered a whole pizza to share with friends and it has always been very good as well. They have a nice, large patio that overlooks 21st Ave. so you can enjoy some pizza and watch the people walking up and down the sidewalk. I introduced this place to my British friend and she loved it.

So we are still on our pizza kick & I know we were told to go to Pizza Perfect Granny White but we had a coupon for this one so off we went. We liked the atmosphere and the service was friendly. We ordered our typical pizza that we order so that we can make a fair comparision. The pizza was very 'pretty' with plentiful toppings. The crust was good but so far, DaVinci's crust is tops with us. The sauce was pretty good but Obie's may have the favorite vote here. Cheese was not nearly as plentiful as at DaVinci's. Overall a good pizza but here's our ratings to as of March 8, 2010): 1) DaVinci's, 2) Obie's (but we haven't had their regular crust - just Chicago style so we need another visit to properly rank them), 3) Picnic Pizza (to be fair - we ordered Sicilian crust and take out so on in store visit and traditional crust are needed to thoroughly evaluate), 4) Pizza Perfect, Wish we had a Casano's Pizza like the one in Springfield, OH!!!

pizza perfect's pizza is not super good or anything...but it's such a conveniently located place....and the food is reliable every time & the service is very quick. so it's the perfect place to go for a quick bite. if you want some good-tasting pizza, check out sal's (stewart ferry pike). just had it last week & that pizza truly tastes good. great crust & such fresh ingredients. but i would never knock pizza perfect because it's enjoyable & reliable

Some of the best pizza in Nashville. Great ingredients, made fresh, served hot. I always ask for extra sauce. My pizza? Garlic, sundried tomatoes, and meatballs with extra sauce on the pizza and in the box (for dipping, you know).

This pizza place is very close to my work place. One of the best pizza's I have tasted. Slightly pricey but worth it for the food they serve. They have lunch specials with 2 slices of pizza n a drink for 7.99$ or so. I usually prefer taking a complete pizza. There are lots of people here who are big fans of this place. Very friendly people and place is cozy.

Enjoyed lunch w/ a friend today and we always get the Turkey Sandwich - favorite in town! If Cheers had been about a Pizza place and not a bar, this would have been backdrop - the people there are that friendly. Enjoy!

Um, did I miss something? I seriously don't get the hoopla about this place. I like the parking and the friendly service, but beyond that, I just don't get it. I've had better pizza at Pizza Hut. My crust was soggy, the flavor was bland, and to repeat what another Yelper said-where in the hell is the garlic on the garlic bread?! There's nothing great about the ambiance, and I really don't like having to walk up to the counter every time I want to order a beer. Maybe if I were still in college and visited at 2 a.m. after a kegger, I would feel the magic, but as of now, I'm just left disappointed.

  • Lauren E.

I went here because I heard it was thin crust pizza, which normally I love. But I was a little bummed, having expected great things, to find that it was nothing special. Now, I got a slice of pizza, which in some places can mean it's not as fresh, or it's reheated, and I don't know if it was in this place or not, but it was pretty disappointing. I waited about ten minutes for my slice. Luckily I grabbed a table and relaxed. When your order is ready they announce your name over a microphone, which I found a little awkward in a place that small. Also kind of weird because of the creepy guy who was watching me and now knows my name. But I suppose it could happen anywhere. The microphone is nice for those who are sitting outside, who can relax without fear or missing their order. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but I suppose if I were really hungry and in the area, I might come again.

  • Peter K.

Yes, you have to come here. You've heard it a million times...you haven't been to Pizza Perfect? What really shines here are the quality ingredients they use on the pies. The crust is perfection...it's a perfect blend of crunchy on the outside, soft/chewy on the inside, not too thin, and not too thick. Give yourself some time though, because this place is always packed. Prices aren't too bad for the area, especially when you take that first bite, you won't even remember how much it cost. My favorites are deluxe veggy, bbq chicken, and the pizza blanc. You really can't go wrong with any of the above or by the slice.

    (5)
  • Michael W.

Easily the best pizza in Nashville. I prefer the thinner-crust, gooey-chewy-crispy New York style, an they do it well here. Very foldable, near-perfect consistency, yum. Call me weird, whatever. They have anchovy pizza. It's delicious. Try it. You hippies can also get your goat cheese and sundried tomato pizza, and I have to admit it's good too. The only thing keeping them fro 5 stars is that they charge $20 for a large pie.

    (4)
  • Ryan O.

Great place to go for lunch. It's very cheap and the portions are large. $6 for two huge slices and a fountain drink... you can't beat that. During the warmer months it is nice to eat a couple of slices on the patio. The patio is also heated for the colder times of the year. Service is really quick, you can get in and out in less than 20 minutes since most of the pies are ready made so once you order they just have to reheat your slices then you are good to go. I've probably been 20+ times and every time is a consistent experience in terms of quality and service. My personal favorites are the fantasy and chicken pie. I'm not very big on meat toppings on my pizza these days however I'm a sucker for banana peppers so the chicken pie always draws me in. The best part about this pizza is definitely the crust... it's that dry crispy flaky crust with the flour coating still covering the dough. I can only think of a few place in town with better pizza but for the price and speed you'll have a hard time finding something more perfect.

    (4)
  • Ian R.

Name still says it all. Pretty darn perfect. The 21st ave. location gets super busy around lunch, but it is worth a little extra wait. Still love the fantasy pizza above all others, but I have been known to go Sicilian every once and a while (that sounds dirty, but is delicious.)

The pizza here is consistently good. I don't know how much I can say about the other menu items. The salads aren't much and neither are the rolls, but it's really all about the pizza here. I don't know if it's the best pizza in Nashville, but it is up there. The prices are standard. I would recommend if you want to grab some tasty pizza and beer with a large or small group. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

Bar none, my absolute favorite pizza in town. I am a thinner crust kind of gal and I like a sauce with nice balanced flavor that doesn't over take the pizza. I like a generous amount of cheese and a crust with a little bit of a bite to it that will hold up to the sauce. Pizza perfect meets all those criteria and then some. My favorite is the perfect which would be like a 'supreme" at one of the chains. It's got the meats and the veggies and they do a great job getting a little of everything all over the pizza. I also like the blanco. The pizzas are always good and while they may not have exotic toppings, they stick with what they do well and they deliver great pizza every time. I think their prices are really reasonable for what you get. The side salads are good and of course like any self respecting pizza place, they have root beer on the fountain. They also have beer and all is priced reasonably. If you are from some place known for their pizza like, NY, then I think you will find Pizza Perfect is about as close as you will get to what you are used to.

Pizza Perfect is one of my favorite places in Nashville to grab a slice or even a whole pizza. They offer a limited menu of pizzas, pastas and calzones, but what they do offer they serve up well. They're ingredients are fresh, and their pizzas are perfectly topped, not too much but not too few either. Their Spinach calzone is one of my favorite things to grab for lunch. Its a very casual pizza place, you place your order at the counter and come pick it up when they call your name so don't expect to be waited on. During their peak hours, tables are limited so sometimes you find yourself standing with your tray waiting until somebody finishes so you can sit down. They don't have a bar so there's a limited selection of beer in bottles and no liquor served here. They also are great for takeout, but traffic can be kind of tricky so its hard to get in and out very quickly. Their prices are great, very affordable for the portions and quality of the food.

I've eaten here a couple times and always enjoyed it. It's a decent place to stay in and just get a slice or to order a pie to go. Unlike most of Nashville, I don't think it's the BEST pizza in town, but I do think it's good. I am in love with their Fantasy Pizza though. It has sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, feta and pesto and is heaven. I usually add jalepenos BTW. It's kinda pricey, although comparable to Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. The slices are a nice size and pretty good - I've had their pineapple and been pleased. The crowd here is very young though and it's always packed. Parking isn't the best either. I usually just order to go when I come here.

Good pizza and other selections. It think you might actually need to come here a few times to get the hang of how to go through the line and order. Not that I found it particularly difficult, but I saw a surprising number of people seemingly confused by the "order here, pay down there, pick up food later" style of dining. Anyway, their pizza is really good here.

I love pizza. As far as I am concerned, Nashville can't have enough good Pizza places. I wish, oh I wish, that Pizza Perfect delivered. That's my only problem with this place, but when I'm not feeling lazy and want good pizza, I will often go here. They have all kinds of fancy pizza, but here's my recommendation. Don't bother with the fancy stuff. Get the regular hand tossed crust (I think the deep dish sucks here) and get regular old pepperoni. This is what they do best. It's really good pepperoni pizza, good and hot and tasty.

Very happy with this pizza :) Went after reading all the great reviews. Decor is what I would expect for a college town pizza place. Loved the very generous fresh toppings. I like the 3 types of shakers on each table for pizza toppings: garlic, herb and hot pepper. Staff was VERY nice. Order and pick-up at the counter. Self serve free refill fountain drinks ;) and they have refills my fave...tea & sweet tea!

There's better pizza and atmosphere in Nashville. The slices can be big, so you can get a decent lunch on the cheap, but the vibe is like that of a food court.

Good pizza - it's not Sally's in New Haven, but it's my favorite place in Nashville (and is definitely leagues ahead of the Domino's and Papa John's of the world). The signature pie (the Perfect) has a nice mix of classic toppings and isn't too overloaded, and the Sicilian pizzas are good if you're into thick crusts. Everything's not perfect, though (despite the name). A number of the vegetable toppings (the broccoli and spinach come to mind) are frozen and lack texture, and the prices are higher than some other places in town - though you definitely get what you pay for. Other than calzones, the rest of the menu is very limited, and the pastas leave a lot to be desired. That's not really a criticism, since this place obviously focuses almost exclusively on pizza; it's just a reminder to have reasonable expectations. A little-known treasure here is the pizza dough - they'll sell you a huge ball for $3. If you're having friends over for a pizza dinner or want to bake focaccia, buying dough is an easy way to skip all the prep and mess. It also lets you make pizza at the last minute, since you don't have to wait for the dough to rise. A highly recommended shortcut.

Great pizza join and is my second favorite in Nashville. The service is top notch and always friendly. I took a very picky friend there once and she that it was ALMOST like New York. Two thumbs up from me!

One of the better dine-in non-corporate Italian restaurants in the city, and certainly the better of the two Pizza Perfects. I personally enjoy the calzones, but the pizza is great. Most of the items, especially the pastas, are pretty traditional, and there is a screened-in dining area out front that isn't bad. Pizza Perfect is basically a locally owned, classier and tastier Fazoli's. Most items are really cheesy, but I like it that way. Prices are moderate, but your wait time can sometimes get a little lengthy in the evenings. Nevertheless, the staff is quick and friendly, and this is as good a place as any on 21st to grab a quick but tasty dinner.

damn... have i sincerely not dropped a little bit of amor here already? i love this place. i don't like meat on pizza and the vegetables pizza perfect uses are so DAMN good. you'd be hard pressed to find better quality veggies on any other pizza in nashville. it is close to vanderbilt, and all the vanderbilt students know and love this place, so you won't certainly be alone here. another plus, this is one of the very very few places i've been to that i doesn't make me feel lame for eating here alone. great little pizza spot. eric b

HOLY SMOKES!!! I moved to Nashville in 1994 and this was the first place I tried pizza in the Music City. What are the chances of finding the best place in town on my first try? I guess it was 100% for me. I still stop by for the Pizza Blanc or Fantasy Pizza when I'm in the neighborhood. Unbelievable!!! Top 5 pizzerias in America, and I've hit all the legendary spots in New York City and Connecticut. Only 2 up North can beat it. Pizza Perfect is pure magic!

A good New York style pizza, not to be confused with a Neopolitan style pizza. Good value for the money, interesting toppings, but the best is plain old pepperoni with a little garlic powder and red pepper flakes.

Maybe I haven't had too many delicious pizzas in my lifetime, however I must say this place is perfect. The pizza is amazing. My favorite is the Fantasy Pizza because I'm a fan of pesto sauce and sun dried tomatoes. There is a patio overlooking 21st Ave which is covered during the winter so you can still sit out there. It is also within walking distance to the unique shops in Hillsboro Village. Every person I have taken here has enjoyed their experience!

Pizza Perfect makes a mean pizza pie, it's not heavenly but it's pretty darn good. I usually go there for after rugby practice hang out with beer and pizza time, and thoroughly enjoy their outdoor seating on lazy Saturday afternoons. The pizza is super greasy, but everyone needs some grease in their system once in a while. I usually go for their meat loaded pizzas though I hear their veggie options are equally as good. I definitely think that better pizza exists out there, but for the Vanderbilt are its pretty darn good.

  • Brent W.

Best Pizza in Nashville. Atmosphere is a mix of Vanderbilt scrubs, students, tax paying goofs like me, and classic fatties who eat too much pizza. At lunch, be ready to go with the flow at this busy place. Order the special and throw down small bucks for gooood slice baby!

Ah, Pizza Perfect...how I miss thee! Whenever I come back to visit, it's always on my must-have list. Our office seemed to live there -- every time a project was finished or someone had a birthday, there would always be a group ready to grab a few slices and split a pitcher of beer. Felt like I was in a scene from Happy Days :)

I have been going to this place my entire life. The pizza is pretty much the best non-corporate chain pizza place in Nashville. Their subs are also fantastic. They have a large variety of pizzas that will please even the pickiest of eaters.

this is the only place i have ever been that claims to have new york pizza and actually does. prolly cause the brothers who started this place actually moves to nashville from new york. i've been eating PP since i was a little girl and they only had one store (across the street from the david lipscomb campus). to be truly satisfied here, i keep it simple. plain cheese or just pepperoni for me. perfectly zesty sauce. thin, crispy, chewy crust. it's delish!!

This place has an amazing way of catching you each time! I work next door to it and literally find myself here WAY too much. Their lunch specials are pretty good! 2 slices and a drink for around 8 bucks! They have pretty good pizza - I don't think it's AMAZING, but its good. Try to get here before the rush at lunch so that you aren't fighting for a table, but overall really solid food!

  • Laura H.

Always a good spot for a slice-- I love big Brooklyn style pizza. My favorite is the Margherita. Pitchers are cheap but they've switched their specials around so I'm not sure when to catch a deal anymore. The porch is lovely. They use the same landscaper for Kaybob's and she is very sweet when she comes to water the plants. (I tend to have a lot of botany questions)

I ended up here by chance and sort of wish I hadn't. For one, I am not a huge fan of red sauce in general so I tend to prefer pizzas that have limited to no red sauce on them. Thus, I ordered the Pizza Blanc and the BBQ Chicken slices. However, the waitress informed me that they put red sauce on all the pizzas they sell individually at night (excluding the BBQ pizza). A little bummed, I decided to go for the margarita pizza because normally at restaurants that has less sauce than the average pie. When I got the pizza slice, I thought they had made a mistake. There was a small amount of cheese on the slice and TONS of marinara sauce. I scraped off nearly all the marinara and was left with white bread and two globs of mozzarella. My friend, who does not have an aversion to marinara sauce, also ordered the margarita slice and was severely disappointed at the lack of cheese as well. The BBQ was decent but I could have saved the bucks and made it myself. The service itself was fast and ordering was efficient but, with all the great pizza options in Nashville, that does not really stand out to me. I do not want to write this place off though because I have heard that they do have really good pizza and my friend said that the last time she had gone there it was incredible. So, maybe they were just having an off night. It's unfortunate that I had to experience it.

Loved it. We got a half Fantasy and half cheese/pepperoni. Both were great. Staff is awesome. Always friendly. We go often, but this was my first time getting a specialty pizza and not by the slice. Great either way you get it!

Spoiler alert: This pizza isn't actually perfect. However, it is pretty freaking tasty! When I was in law school my roommate and I started a tradition in the fall where we would order a large pepperoni to go and then split it while watching football all day on Saturday. That tradition bled over into basketball season. Then the scale brutally insisted that the tradition must die. Some of the best mozzarella I've ever had on pizza, I don't know what is different about it, but something is. Excellent crust and sauce as well, all-around they do things right!

Favorite place to get pizza in Nashville! Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Very convenient if you are visiting Vanderbilt Hospital (within walking distance). During my husband's cancer treatment we would "escape" to here for a slice and a bit of normalcy. The patio is perfect for enjoying nice weather and the busy city.

Just ok. I don't get the appeal of this place. The quality is one step above papa johns and the service is lacking. Ordered a large pizza and garlic bread to eat inside. Both items I had to walk up to the counter to get and neither was good. The "garlic" bread was nothing more than rolls with a slip of pizza sauce carelessly ladled onto the plate. There was absolutely no garlic at all. The pizza was a meat pizza they call the huntsman. Should be called the road kill. It was like jerky instead of meat and the crust had no chew to it and was overly burnt flour tasting. The best part was the sauce which unfortunately tasted like canned prego. Do yourself a favor if you are at Vanderbilt and want pizza, go the extra few blocks to mellow mushroom.

Went there for dinner. My wife had a spinach calzone while I tried three different slices of pizza (BBQ Chicken, their Fantasy pizza, and Pizza Blanc). First tip that I might not like the last two slices was when they told me that at night, they put their red sauce on the pizzas they sell for individual slices. So I wasn't getting what I expected from the lunch time reviews. The BBQ was good. The others, not so much because of the red sauce. (Frankly I find very few good marinara or other red pizza sauces...prefer them to be spicy to sweet.) Wife's calzone was like two slices of bread folded over with stuff in side. And about the size of a sandwich. And while it tasted good, for the price, not a lot of food. Don't see us coming back...and we will continue our search for the perfect pizza elsewhere.

New York style pizza? Check. Can purchase said pizza by the slice at lunch? Check. Packets of parm and crushed red pepper at the ready? Check. Beer available? Check. Gigantic pies available for game viewings or parties? Check. Absolutely amazingly delicious? DOUBLE FREAKING CHECK. My only complaint with this place is they don't deliver, which is probably better for my wallet and waistline. However, I can honestly say this is the preferred pizza spot for any of my visiting New Yorkers, so that right there should tell you something. They have great service and salads and yada yada as well but come on, you are there for the awesome pizza.

Being from the northeast and somewhat of a pizza snob I always have my reservations about any other pizza then NYC or Boston. To my delight the Sicilian pizza is amazing and is as close to most of my favorites that I have eaten . People there are very nice and since I eat there regularly they even have my order down! I highly recommend this place!

Rarely does food taste so good that I actually feel happiness from just tasting it, but this definitely did that for me! I'm not even a huge pizza fan but I figured its been around for a long time and anyone I know whose been there just raves about it so I should at least be able to say I've tried it. And it was so delicious. Seriously perfect. If I ever want pizza, this is the only place in Nashville that I will ever go. Not only is the pizza amazing, they have really long hours (usually midnight) for late night munchies. I happened to go on a Wednesday night where they had a 2 for 1 special. I got 2 slices of pepperoni for $3 or something. Nice! They have parking in the back. Very happy with everything. My one and only complaint is that pricing is not visible and for a first time visitor, it was very confusing. The specials weren't noticeable and who doesn't put prices next to their food items on a menu? apparently, pizza perfect, but whatever, they're amazing.

Good spot for a sandwhich or slice, nothing super special but good pizza and sandwiches. Nashville isn't newyork or chicago or san fran with wood wired (although Desanos does as does the pizza shop in the Nashville farmers market both of which are very artisanal and awesome) thus you have to know that pizza isn't easy to come buy and for a slice this place is worth going.

Pizza Perfect has done it again! I recently went on a diet and haven't been able to fulfill my pizza craving for a while now, and boy am I glad to be off of that diet! I came to pizza perfect during their lunch rush, which can be hectic, but the service was amazing and the food was splendid (per usual). They also had a high 95 health score (which is something I ALWAYS check at restaurants). Overall I am still pleased with this place, they remodeled and I was quite nostalgic at first but as long as they continue to wow my tastebuds, I will always hold pizza perfect in my heart as the best pizza in The South! Not to mention I have met the owners a few times and one of them knows me by name and I appreciate that. Makes me feel even more at home! Looks like I'll be revisiting that diet soon enough...!!!

Goodness! It was simply goodness embodied!! On my first visit I tried the Spinach Calzone. While it was a bit too bread-heavy for my taste, the filling was well seasoned enough to call me back for a return visit. Having just completed my second visit I know this will be a stop on our visits to Nashville, might even make doctor visits less painful. Ravioli are always a blessing when someone else is in charge of prep, but these were rather better than standard restaurant fare. While not the red sauce of my youth, it was well seasoned and flavorful without being either too sweet or too spicy. But it wad the dessert that will bring me back. Again and again. The cannoli took me back to childhood memories of Mrs. Permerrini and hours in her kitchen. The fried dough was lightly dusted with cinnamon and the sweet filling was touched with just enough chocolate chips to make me grin. But according to the cook, they aren't nearly as good as the teramisu. Can't wait to try that! See you soon!

Okay, this is my fourth or fifth time eating here since I discovered the BEST Pizza in Nashville in May of this year..yes ONLY about 3 months and I am convinced there is NOTHING better in the area...My daughter and her friend came for the a few months and I had to introduce them to my favorite Pizzeria in Nashville...and like myself they know that they have enjoyed the best!!! I have also discovered a new way of enjoying their delicious Pizza Pie..when I work on Saturdays I call ahead and pick up my XL Pepperoni with Onions and Jalapeno peppers pizza..they have the oooeee goooeee goodness ready for me and believe me that 20 minute drive back to Antioch area is KILLING ME with all the smells and aromas coming from that box..it takes every inch of my being to keep me from pulling a slice out of that box...it kills me!! Once I get it home, I turn my oven to 425 and put it on my marble pizza slab and put it back into the oven for about 5-8 minutes to get it heated through and BAM!!!!!! it is revived to its original oooeee goooeee goodness and piping hot and to die for !!! The crust comes out so crispy great, the pizza is divine ....I am making myself hungry just thinking about it...I just might have to stop this evening and get one to take home!!! If you get the chance to eat there you should!!! I wish I had a coupon or two for the restaurant...that is my only wish!!! An X Large Pepperoni, Jalapeno and onion cost about $19 with taxes..and I usually don't like spending that much for ONE pizza...but if it was so DARN GOOD...I wouldn't....but once you discover the best, buying anything else even if cheaper is a waste of money...once you taste the BEST its hard to eat anywhere else!!!! I love this PIZZA!!! I am so sure you will too!!!

Very good place! Food is tasty and a refreshing twist on typical greasy pizza. Very affordable too. We've ordered from this place several times, and we are never disappointed. Service is ultra-speedy, staff is friendly, food is tasty. What more do you want!

During a recent hospital stay this was my place of eating three separate meals so I feel I've got a pretty decent grasp of what they're offering during non-rush times. Meal 1: two slices of cheese pizza. Evidently had been sitting out for a while, rubbery and overcooked. right at perfectly average pizza meal. Meal 2: two slices veggie at about 8pm: crisp crust on bottom, slightly doughy up top. nothing horrible, but I wouldn't order again. Slightly less than acceptable. Meal 3: misc two topping - ok. Cooked properly, kind of flour-y on the crust. Slightly better than acceptable. It's never been exactly perfect, and I understand that getting pizza reheated is an iffy proposition, but still with 6 slices at 3 times I'd expect one to be damned good from a place calling itself Pizza Perfect. As it was it was Pizza OK Not terrible, but not perfect, and I think it used to be significantly tastier... that or my taste buds have been ruined.

Haven't gone since I was a kid, so I visited last Friday for lunch. Place wasn't super packed, which was nice, but parking fills up fast & 21st Ave is a nightmare at that time of day. The white pizza was pretty tasty, but the supreme was very average. The crust was a huge disappointment. It was thin, soggy, & floppy. :( My sister got the pasta which she seemed to like. The garlic rolls that came with it were completely tasteless. Maybe my visit was a fluke, but I don't think I'll bother coming back.

Friday lunch special of two specialty slices and a soft drink for $7.80? Yes please. While I love Pizza Perfect's kid sister Kay Bob's a little bit more, I definitely will stop in here for lunch once in awhile. My only qualm with Pizza Perfect is that the ordering/paying situation is kind of awkward when you are getting a specialty slice. Upon walking in it feels like you IMMEDIATELY have to know what you want (if there's a line) and it's kind of tough to look around at the specialty pies to figure out what toppings are on it, etc. Then you order (with a little help from the pizza person) which goes great! You're feeling good about your choices! Excited, even! Then you head to the cash register to pay. Friday lunch special, please! The crushing blow comes when the cashier asks what the slices are CALLED. Uhhhhhhh..... the one with spinach? You don't know! You get a little flustered but the cashier handles it fine and then you're on the way to Pizzatown.

Before a night of adventure exploring the city, a few friends took me here for a slice and a beer. I would describe it as comfort pizza. It didn't stand out as the best pie in my life but it made me feel at home. The ingredients were flavorful and the atmosphere was similar to a kitchen in NYC. I'll go back many times.

I have emotional connections to pizza perfect because i used to eat here all the time in college. 5 years later, and coming back to Nashville, it's still my pizza place of choice. And it's still delicious, so I know coming here wasn't one of the questionable decisions i made in college. The perfect pizza is definitely my favorite of their offerings. It's got yummy roasted garlic and feta, which is a great combo. I think the thing that makes the pizza great is the crust. It's not too thin and not too thick, with a nice chew. The customer service here is also wonderful. If you're in hillsboro, definitely try out pizza perfect.

  • Wade O.

    1. It's in Hillsboro Village so parking is a nightmare. For this reason alone I wouldn't go back unless I were already in the area and I walked. 2. Ordering was chaos (lunch time). The guy behind the counter did very little explaining as to what kind of pizza they had to offer, how much longer it would take to get other pizza's out... etc. When it came time to pay a few customers didnt even know what they had chosen, so it caused even more confusion. 3. The food was OK. I had two slices that were adequate, but I like NY Pie and 5 Points much better, and you can order there w/o the chaos. This is Pizza Imperfect.

The Thrill Was Gone But It's Back 11/9/14 UPDATE: I have visited the place several times ever since, and things have improved from standpoint of both quality and service. I'm glad to report this change and a couple of more stars. 10/16/14 UPDATE: Since the INITIAL review below, a couple of 1-poster reviewers have sent me harassing messages about my review while posting glowing reviews of the place. Considering these individuals seem to have just joined Yelp, and their one and only review is about Pizza Perfect, one could be forgiven to doubt their identify and motives. We shall see... INITIAL REVIEW As much as it aches me to say, as Pizza Perfect's decor has improved, its service and pizza have been degrading. As a long-time customer, I have been disappointed by the service I have received for the past three or four visits there. That has been specially evident whenever I visited there AFTER 1 p.m. Whenever I asked for a house salad, I was given the pre-fabricated boxed version sitting in their cooler instead of making a fresh one. To add insult to injury, the do not even dish out the salad and just hand you the box and a plate. Depending on the staff's mood, they have told me they were out of a particular type of sliced pizza while--as someone who has worked there before--I know full well that they can make any pizza they wish to make single sliced or full. This is all very unfortunate considering the positive history of that business. The parking situation is simply atrocious. While Pizza Perfect may not have direct control over that situation, they certainly can have impact to make parking more convenient for everyone. (See what Fido has done for their parking lot at the back of their building.) Another factor that should keep the owners awake at night is the introduction of the NY PIE pizzeria on Charlotte which is simply impeccable. Those guys seem to practice what Pizza Perfect folks appear to have forgotten. .

I give them 5+ stars for friendly service. Ashely answered w/in 2 rings during busy lunch rush. "Do you sell slices?" Replied w/an enthusiastic "Always!" While waiting & later eating I watched her efficiently handle each customer like they were only patron in the shop. One or more of the other employees could take a lesson. Ordered 2 veggie slices. Very good. Because I'm a Jersey boy raised on NY pie I have very high standards. While theirs comes closer than most I've had since leaving the Tri-State area, I hafta give them 4 stars on texture. If I return to Nashville I'd eat there again.

This is the best place for a slice of pizza in Nashville. The pizzas are just delicious and they are the right price. My favorite is the Margherita. The salads are also excellent. They have a great patio as well as plenty of indoor seating. Service is fast and staff is friendly.

NY-style pizza? Is that a joke? Look, it wasn't terrible, but I was drawn in by the promise of NY-style pizza. Only a college student would find this acceptable. There are only two NY-style pizza joints in all of Nashville (three is you count 'Two Boots' in Midtown, which is close but 3 or 4 stars tops). NY Pie and Joey's House of pizza are the only place in Nashville for good pies. Pizza Perfect was like eating a Tombstone frozen pizza that someone else cooked -- not terrible, but far from great.

I am a proud regular at Pizza Perfect, and in my view, along with McDougal's and Cori's Dog House, it is a distinct notch above the multitude of other sub-$10 lunch spots around campus. Their pizza is not only more imaginative than that of nearby competitors, the quality shines as well. My go-to is the 2 specialty slice special with Fantasy (garlic, spinach, feta, sun-dried tomatoes = awesome) and BBQ chicken (self-explanatory, and killer). That is, unless they are offering their killer baked ziti lunch special that day (I'd say you have about a 1/3 chance of this on any given day), in which case I jump on that. This is hands-down the best cheap pasta dish in the area. And the TVs...the glorious TVs!! Love it.

The name says it all. Truly the best pizza and atmosphere in Nashville. The staff are always very friendly and the prices are fair. A little higher than chain pizza but a large pie and two drinks will only set you back around $20. Highly recommended. I've tried every pizza in the city and this is by far the best. Not to mention the amazing Oreo or strawberry cheesecake for desert. Too good.

Solid, consistently good (but not great) pizza. Ask for a "crispy bottom" for a better textured crust. Pick-up is probably your better option, as the wait is 30-45 minutes for your pie and appetizers are very limited.

Used to enjoy the pizza here. Work across the street. One day got pizza to go and returned to work. Opened pizza and cockroach ran out of box. Called to complain and got attitude in return. Won't be returning.

Oh how I'll miss you getting me fat! This was a regular lunch spot for me when I was temping at Vanderbilt. At the right time of day there is no line and when it's the wrong time of day and you're literally just stopping by for a couple slices you're in and out in about 10 minutes anyway. I'm a big fan of their BBQ chicken pizza...please get in my face right now! And to be quite honest with you it's hard to please me in regards to pizza. But Pizza perfect is indeed perfect. Two slices and a soda for $7, heck yeah!

When it comes to restaurants, there's a lot to be said for consistency. I've been eating at Pizza Perfect ever since Amir and Ali opened their flagship pizzeria on Granny White. That's over twenty years of great pizza with thin, crispy crust, spicy sauce and always the right amount of cheese and toppings. Well done, fellas. You still serve my favorite pie in town!

this has been my favorite pizza place for the past 10 years. their pizza is good and fast. recently when i was there i was surprised to hear they had a gluten free pizza crust. not buying into the gluten free phase, i was not excited that the person i was with wanted to try it. but i was really shocked that the crust was actually good and tasted almost as good as their regular crust. great food, chill place.

If you're looking for pizza in Nashville, there's really no reason to go anywhere else. In the thirty-ish years they've been open, Pizza Perfect has, well, perfected it. There's nothing gimmicky here--just consistently yummy and fresh pizza and great service. I suppose if I had to classify their pizza, I'd put it in the "New York style" category (as opposed to Greek or Chicago style). The crust (which is made fresh every day) is the perfect thickness, as well as the perfect balance between crispy and chewy. It's not greasy at all. My favorite of their specialty pizzas is the Fantasy (pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, feta, and spinach). They also make a mean meatball sub. I dunno--I feel like I should be raving more, considering how much I love this place. But perhaps it's a testament to Pizza Perfect's quality that I don't have more to say. They just make a damn good pizza every time. 'Nuff said.

Really enjoyed this place! Was "cozy" (i.e. small) but we were fortunate to find a booth and had to wait for our pizza anyway which was AWESOME! Cute little casual date night place. Parking was available which in that area is a humungous plus!

Been a regular at this pizza joint since I was a resident and now back as a faculty. Standard NYC-style pizza slices. Wish they changed their menus now and then. Free refills with soft drinks. Busy during lunch time.

What is the best pizza in Nashville? I really can't answer that question, but Pizza Perfect is my go-to place when I'm craving it (i.e. every day). The best thing about them has to be their crust - it's neither too thick nor thin. Pizza can get pricey, but PP is in the middle of Little Caeser's and Pie in the Sky - in other words, affordable. I'm only a part-time vegetarian, but I always get their Fantasy Pizza. Sun-dired tomatoes, roasted garlic, spinach, feta, and pesto sauce. Oh no, now I'm hungry.

Can someone please explain to me why Nashville can't make garlic bread?!! This is the second time I was handed a piece of bread, this time in roll form (what?!) and was told it was garlic bread. Ummm where was the garlic?? Garlic bread usually has butter or oil and GARLIC! Hence the name garlic bread! I was given a roll and red sauce. Red sauce??? You don't need red sauce with garlic bread! Ugh. I was really disappointed. I fell down an incline trying to leave my apartment to go pick up the pizza. Instead my boyfriend had to go. All I wanted while soaking up the blood and performing minor surgery on my foot was some good garlic bread. You failed me Pizza Perfect, got that FAILED! Ok besides the tragedy that was falsely called garlic bread the pizza was actually not bad. I come from the North, as you may have seen in my reviews, so I am very picky about my pizza. I was told, you will not find good pizza outside of NY pizza. It's true, but this place is decent, actually might be better. Their thin crust is actually thin crust. It might even be better than California pizza. I haven't tried any other pizza places yet but I honestly don't think they will be as good as Pizza Perfect. Now if they could get their garlic bread issue sorted out I'd be one happy pizza eater.

My husband and I had the Sicilian style pizza with basil and feta. Wow it was good!!! The crust was buttery, thick, and crispy and the toppings were tasty. We even had leftovers for 2 days after that and it was still fantastic. I wouldn't say it's the best pizza I've ever had, but it's incredibly good and if you're looking for a thicker crust, you found it. It's a great casual atmosphere where you order at the counter and pick it up when it's ready, so if you're looking for something fast, easy, and tasty, it hits the spot!

Their steamed & heated Italian sandwich is the best of its kind in town. Consistently great every time. I wouldn't even think of getting one anywhere else. I'm ruined.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
