Hidden Nashville Gem. The delicious chicken on a stick is definitely the best. Living near Chinatown in San Francisco, I've grown accustomed to getting great Chinese food. Chicken on a stick is on par with my favorite popcorn chicken in SF. Managed by a cute husband and wife serving classics like hot and sour soup, Kung Pao chicken, Sesame chicken, and General Tsao's chicken. Everything is well seasoned with great flavors. They also have white rice if you ask for it.

This place is wonderful! I've tried several of the dishes and was not disappointed. Service is quick and friendly and I'll be coming back the next chance I get!

You may not expect to find much in the Arcade of Downtown Nashville, but the mom and pop shop of Oriental Lunch delivers delicious chinese food at a price you would expect to find of much worse places to eat. The pepper steak and sesame chicken are my favorite go-to dishes, and what I found here did not disappoint. The service was friendly and I will definitely be returning for more in the future. 10/10

Loved it! Great place for lunch with very friendly owners. Enjoyed everything I've had there but LOVE the chicken on a stick and pepper steak. Definitely my go-to place when in the downtown area for lunch.

2013/010 1st/003 In college, despite a wealth of authentic Chinese places around me, I sometimes opted for cheap, Americanized dives. Not the dives where the clientele was overwhelmingly Chinese, but the greasy dives where even my 5th generation ABC (American-Born Chinese) friends would never step foot in. This place had it all: The un-PC word "oriental" in the establishment name. The trays of 3-5 items under food lamps. The sides of egg rolls (bonus: Veggie and meat option). 2-3 tables for dining in. Daily specials. I believe there was a menu for other options, but I never come into a place like this for that. This is the sort of place where I would go for my inexplicable love for sweet and sour pork (something my friends never understood or would ever order in any type of Chinese place), if they had it available. I came off-peak and they only had about 3 items left. I opted for some random chicken with a sweet-ish sauce and veggie egg rolls. They tasted just like I expected them to taste. Their combo plates are about $5. A full meal with soda and a side is under $10.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
