My family eats here every now and then, and the food is great. We usually always deliver, because the actual restaurant isn't that pleasurable. But the food is great, usually a dinner plate will fill you up, but I do wish you would get a little more for your money, that would be my only issue. Other than that, I love Chinese food and will be going again!

I've stopped writing reviews after one visit to an establishment. One visit is MY first experience, two visits gives a better idea and three visits tells the REAL STORY. I am happy to say that after three visits to New China Restaurant, it rocks! Each time out they have met and exceeded my expectations. One heads up for anyone ordering delivery...they are not the fastest to arrive but each time I ordered and had my food delivered it was HOT and really tasty. ENJOY!

So I placed my order for the (Lunch) Sesame Chicken (Served with rice) $5.25, (with lunch special) small Egg Drop 50 cents (which was a big size than what I've ordered from other Chinese places), Mixed Vegetables (one size) $6.65, Fried Noodles (per bag) 79 cents, Fried Crab Ragoon (8) $4.25. Paid about 22$ + 4$ tip. They were 10 minutes away from me. I waited an hour. Everything was great! They gave me plenty of sweet & sour sauce. I mean plenty. Lol I got an egg roll I guess because I ordered the lunch special. One thing I didn't like was no fork & napkin. That's all!

You're thinking wow how can 1 review have 5 stars and another has 1 stars. This all comes with your Chinese Food Background. What I mean is look, if you believe that Chinese resturants should be clean, and the food should be hot, and the people should speak English thats fine, but maybe you're a person who thinks the dirty the place the better the food. And good ol New Chine Restaurant, for me, is right in the middle of these two 'backgrounds' They have a 95 food rating. (does this help) People complain on Yelp ALOT that food is too expensive. Okay Alert Alert -- this place is Cheap. I mean lunch, a can soda, and tax was $6.45. How is that possible?? I asked the nice women there what was the spiciest -- and she told me. I asked if it came with onions and peppers. She said, "No, but trust me" Fine. I'm up for adventure. And about 10 minutes later the most yummy super spicy, chicken with onions and peppers, fried rice AND a egg roll AND a coke came out HOT flavorful and for $6.45. It's a miracle. As I waited, about 5 other people came in picking up togo orders. Also it appears they have delivery (within a certain area maybe) Look just try it, you might totally love it or totally hate it. It makes life fun. I liked it! ;-)

Worst service. .... waited in the hotel lobby for over an hour and when I asked about their whereabouts, I was told the delivery person is almost there. Really annoying

Shrimp and broccoli is AMAAAAAAZING. Vegetables and seafood are fresh, crisp, and cooked perfectly. The service was super quick. I never wait more than 5 minutes for my food. The only complaint I have is that you get twice as much food at other Chinese places...I've never seen portion sizes this small and my husband and I weren't able to share like we usually do. The quality is worth spending more for two entrees, though! I will definitely be back.

I ordered the lunch size portion of the Mongolian beef and hot and sour soup. It was delicious! I could definitely taste the msg but I didn't go here for a healthy meal. Ha! My meal was around $6.50. I'd come here again.

After a delayed flight coming into Nashville, I was craving some serious junk food. Only options around were Italian and Chinese. Glutinously I over ordered... CHICKEN EGG FOO YUNG GENERAL TSO's BEEF ROAST PORK FRIED RICE STEAMED VEG AND TOFU I covered all the major protein groups! And I didn't feel that bad...it was for a family of three. One word... BLAND. All dishes were in desperate need of salt, pepper, and flavor. There was a mystery oily sauce that did not even come close to providing any flavor to the dishes. My first taste of Chinese in Nashville. Major fail.

Standard decent Chinese take-out. Serving sizes were HUGE... food was greasy, but nothing atypical for Chinese take-out. We ordered online (a perk!) and picked up within 20 minutes. Food tasted fresh, chicken lo mein was top notch (we requested it be spicy--it was delicious)... Sweet and sour chicken was great, beef and broccoli was a little bland and gravy-heavy, but decent. Fried rice was the yellow grain--a little off-putting for me, but whatever. We'll likely return when the late-night craving hits again.

We stayed at a nearby hotel, got it at 10:30 pm and needed something open. The do delivery, but the wait was about 30 min compared to 10 if we picked up, so we picked it up. We got the Kung pow beef and the chicken lo mein and asked for both spicy. The portions were huge! The chicken lo mein was excellent but the beef was not very good - weird texture. Overall I would say it was average, hits the spot for a late night or similar situation, but nothing spectacular.

Well, damn. I ordered the General Tso's chicken and it was 10% dried out dark meat and 90% breading. What a sneaky way to save money. Not cool. The broccoli was good.

I got sesame chicken, it was okay. The fried rice was so delicious though! However I got delivery to a hotel and they wouldn't bring it to my room, didn't like that at all Bc if I wanted to get out I would have just picked it up myself.

This place sucks. Food is too expensive and it's not that good. Don't come here unless this is your only option

I have been getting my Chinese take out here for years. The service is Great, fast and always ready for me to pick-up and go. They also offer delivery service.

Food was good prices are decent. Ordered for delivery $15.00 Minimum. Chicken rice soup was not a good thing to order. Beef Chow mein and fried dumplings were good. Customer service is lacking. Staying in a hotel and ordering delivery this would be a first to get a call from delivery man asking me to meet him in the lobby because hotel staff would not let him past the desk. So me being a hungry fat kid I took the elevator down and found he wasn't there yet. Waited a couple minutes and he pulled up walked through the door handed me the food took the money and he was outta there quick like nija.......

Decent Chinese take out spot. I came in on a Saturday night during dinner time. There was no one eating there but the phone rang there every five seconds. I ordered some food to go; chicken broccoli and beef lo mien. As busy as they were I got my order pretty quickly. Food was good. I was happy.

This place was the worst. First, it is a dump which is only OK if the food is good. But, it wasn't. There were three of us and it was a consensus dud. The sesame chicken was awful...like biting into little hollow rocks with no chicken on the inside. It also had a weird taste that I can't explain other than it wasn't like any sesame chicken I've ever had. By far the worst Chinese we've had since moving to Nashville.

I travel a lot for work and if I don't have a car I tend to go for Chinese delivery for dinner. But I also tend to get discouraged since Chinese restaurants by the airport are hit or miss. I was very pleased with New China. I ordered the orange chicken combination platter, and they let me swap steamed rice for the fried rice and a spring roll for the egg roll. I also ordered Chinese donuts. Everything was very good, and I still have enough leftovers for another meal. The price was great, $7 for the combo platter, $3 for the donuts, and only $1 for a delivery service charge. Sometimes when I order blindly from a place I'm unfamiliar with I end up getting charged $20 for mediocre food I don't even want to eat the next day due to BS service charges and overpriced menu items, so the quality at New China was great for the price. The staff was also super nice. It may sound silly, but I appreciated how nice the lady was when she took my order on the phone, a lot of times I find people to be rude and impatient when taking phone orders, so it was refreshing to talk to someone who was so nice and helpful. The delivery guy was nice too! So overall the food, prices, and service was great, I would order food here again.

Probably one of the worst Chinese food places I've had. The 2 stars were given to the wonton soup but that's pushing it. I ordered kung pao chicken and the chicken was fried. I've never had king pao with fried chicken and let me say it was bad. The taste wasn't like any Kung pao I've ever had. It wasn't the same. The whole meal seemed dry and uneventful. Honestly the best part was the fortune cookies.

I got crab rangoons, honey chicken and a side of chicken lo mein. The crab rangoons were eh, there was nothing special about them and the wanton rappers seemed like they were a little stale. The honey chicken was horrible, it was all a congealed mess in the bowl and I'm pretty sure they used pancake syrup to make it, it made its way to the trash can instead of into my stomach. I would only consider going back to this place if it was to get the chicken lo mein, it was not the best I've ever had but it was decent. I gave it two stars because of the low mein and the fast and friendly service.

Good food, better than Super Wok in Hermitage. They have traditional pork fried rice plus the food is pretty tasty. Be on the look out for coupons in the clipper magazine. Cute plastic containers are nice as well.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
