There is a huge fuss over this restaurant. Long lines for days. Cash only. Hip, hip, hipsters. I was urged by my local friends to try the tortilla soup and the corn. That soup is sooooo good. The freshness, and the lime perfectly balances out the saltiness of the broth. Fresh avocados top it off for a fantastic homemade remedy. The seasoned corn is a must. Fresh, thick, chewy tortillas for the tacos and the best horchata ever makes Mas Tacos worth a try on your visit to Nashville.

Food: the chicken tacos and plantains are delicious. I cannot speak for anything else. Price: so affordable for what you get. You cannot beat it. Ambiance: hole in the wall with an outside seating area. Service: friendly and efficient. This is one of the few places in Nashville that lives up to the hype.

I was on the fence here with 3 or 4 stars, but I think what eventually tipped the balance was the hype. With people writing reviews like this place changed their life, "the expectations were too damn high" (Jimmy McMillan? Anyone?). After a decade in San Francisco, the pork and chicken tacos were good enough, and I enjoyed the pickled vegetables, but I could have (scratch that: HAVE) made better horchata from store mix. While I haven't really explored the Mexican scene in Nashville, I'd come back for a few tacos... but there are many places I'll be trying before then.

Wonderful tacos! We arrived promptly at noon on a Thursday and only had to wait in line for about 6 minutes. The line fills up fast. I know why... We had the pulled pork, pan fried chicken and carne tacos. The pork was our favorite but they were all amazing. Mas Tacos have the best corn tortillas I've ever eaten! We also got the pineapple cilantro agua fresca, which was a nice, refreshing touch. I'm eager to try all the other great looking menu items when we come back....because we will DEFINITELY be back!

Small dining area well decorated. Went on a Wednesday for the tomales as recommended and was very pleased with the quality! Get there early or stand in line, bring cash. Had the horchitas, i would recommend this as an after meal drink: not too heavy but very sweet. Delicious! Tomales were amazing, better than the bland ones from Mexico. The green sauce served on the tomales the best, for extra kick they also have spicy verde sauce & valentino's .

Give yourself time, cash, and general love of humanity when you done here. You'll be standing in line with 30ish of your dear neighbors and friends in space that's a little better suited to 10. But you'll be rewarded handsomely with authentic, high quality meals and snacks. The elote is spot on. Chicken tortilla soup is tasty and chock full of meat and avocado. My chica loves her fish tacos and agua fresca. We sat on the kitsch-filled patio and watched a steady stream of hungover hipsters line up outside the little building. The prices add up quickly and everything is a la carte, so load up that money clip.

Had a small meal here as this was the second meal of the day at 11:30 am. Elote was sooo good and super spicy. Couldn't put it down. I only had half of the sweet potato quinoa taco which was pretty good. Agua fresca was refreshing!

This place was fantastic. Such a hole in the wall place but amazing. My favorite type of food is Mexican, specifically tacos. I have been to many taco places and this was hands down then I have ever had. They were flavorful and very filling. The fried avocado taco was unbelievable. Everyone I was with were very impressed. If I am ever in Nashville again I will be frequenting this place.

We heard great things about this place, so we had to try it. We got there around 2:00, so they had run out of a few things by the time we got there. I would suggest getting there a little earlier. The chicken tortilla soup was amazing and so was the pineapple line cilantro agua fresca. My friend had the corn and it was delicious as well.

We are never disappointed by Mas Tacos. One of our favorite places to walk to for lunch on a Saturday. The vibe is crowded and kind of hole-in-the-wall (in a good way), and the tacos are really delicious. Our favorites are the Carne and the fish. And the corn Elote is sooooo good. Everything is fairly priced as well. It's cash only, so make sure you've got some cash on-hand or at ATM card to get some there. It also gets super crowded during lunch time on weekends so try to get there a little earlier (closer to 11am) so you don't have to wait in line out the door and around the corner. If you're visiting Nashville for the weekend, this is definitely worth your time and make sure to explore the rest of the east side while you're there!

No frills, inexpensive Mexican food. I went last week with my boyfriend. We live in NYC but decided to try this place out since we were passing through Nashville during a road trip & this place was recommended by the NY Times. The tacos were amazing! They were juicy and tasty. I also had the elote which was fantastic (though a bit spicy so if you don't like spicy things don't get it). We didn't try the quinoa tacos, but my boyfriend tried the chicken, steak & pork tacos and loved them all. Highly recommended if you're in the Nashville area!!!

I visited Mas Tacos while traveling on business. I love finding restaurants that can truly serve up authentic Mexican tacos. Coming from Chicago I have had my fair share and can say that these tacos are legit. The only thing different is that they actually have quite a bit more of the good stuff inside that most places. I normally can take down 4-5 tacos but 2 at Mas Tacos was plenty. The tortilla soup was probably the most flavorful thing out of everything I ordered and if you are going here for the first time then it's definitely a must have. The elote was good but you need to have a specific palate for you to think it's really good. it's one of those things you either love or hate. Same with the frescas. Personally, I didn't care for the fresca (i had the pineapple, cilantro and lime, which was recommended) and wish I had a beer instead. Had the cast iron chicken and the spicy carne molida tacos and they both were great. However, the spicy carne one was not spicy at all.

Wow. This place was freakin' good! Got the agua frescos with pineapple, cilantro and lime which was wicked amazing! Even my dad loved it and it paired perfectly with the food. We got corn, pinto and black bean soup, the tilapia taco and the chicken taco. DAMN. The soup was a good texture, great flavoring and the cheese on top made it even better. The corn tortillas that they used for the tacos were amazing and the meat was cooker perfectly. Whatever sauce they put on them is delicious too. Quick service, great prices ($18 for two drinks, two tacos, soup and a side) and delicious food. One of those rare hole-in-the-wall finds that you'll keep going back too. CASH ONLY - they do have an ATM in the building though!

This is a little hole in the wall. This is similar to tacos in mexico city. Outstanding tacos. Great service. Price was good.

  • Kyle H.

Mas Tacos is a great little spot for delicious tacos and tortilla soup. If your really hungry grab a fish taco, some elote (Mexican style street corn on the cob), and a bowl of tortilla soup and you won't be disappointed. Just bring some cash or be prepared to use the atm hidden in the corner.

I've had tacos in Mexico. I've had tacos in Guatemala. I've had tacos from LA food trucks and these are the best mothaf***ing tacos I've had in my life. The pork tacos are like a sexual experience in your mouth that leaves you coming for more.

Favorite eatery in Nashville, hands down. Last visit, I was not yet a vegetarian, so let me recommend the chicken tortilla soup for those of you who can still do that. It was best I ever had, and I do not say that lightly. OMG. The corn on the cob (forget the correct name for it) is outstanding. Tacos are pretty darned good too--especially if you add a little of the hot green sauce they have at the front counter. And the sweet plantains: little fluffy slices of heaven that melt in your mouth. As mentioned by others, it's all cash and carry--$3 per most items. Only downer, now that everyone has discovered it's awesomeness, plan on queuing up dang near around the block. Last time I was here, there was one other table in the joint. Now: waited 20 minutes in queue before making it to the ordering part of the program. Still worth it. Outside and inside seating. Me encanta por siempre. Viva Mas Tacos Por Favor!

  • Jay R.

This place is so special! They make one-of-a-kind tacos and while they do take some time to come out, it is worth the wait!! I had the pulled pork, tilapia, chicken, and sweet potato/quinoa tacos. All super delicious! There is a hip vibe in there, and the tacos have a tremendous kick to them (cabbage, sauce, spice).

    (5)
  • Kevin W.

Whoa. You'd probably never stumble upon this hole in the wall and take a risk but the reviews are spot on. So much good here. Affordable grub. Great eats. And if you don't get the sweet plantains, you should be ashamed of yourself.

So I drove by and there was finally not a huge line outside! However, I had my 7 month old with me. Despite this, I had to go in after pining for their tacos for so long. I put the baby in his smaller travel stroller and off we went. This place is smaaaaaaaall. Not the place for a kid in a stroller. But there was no turning back. Cash only. The place is a big dirty feeling but I don't have a stick up my butt so I didn't care. However, no AC. No Bueno on a day when the heat index is 110. Now for the good stuff: the fried avocado taco is literally the best taco I have ever had. Creamy, crunchy, flavor on point....everything one desires in a taco. The corn was also pretty much divine. So the moral of this story: you will have to go through a bit of discomfort to experience amazing tacos.

  • Katie D.

This restaurant is worth the drive for me across town for me. The food is authentic and something different. I LOVED their fried sweet plantains. I could have gotten two orders. My friends both times I visited raved about the corn- it's a little something different. I wasn't as into the hibiscus agua fresca. It really earthy. I think that's more my taste though and less the products fault. Definitely worth a visit! If I wanted to double dinner, j would go there and then to burgers across the street.

    (5)
  • Lisa M.

I had the corn(without queso), beans and plantains, a sweet potato quinoa taco and the pineapple cilantro agua fresco. All of it was delicious and I ate every single bite! Can't wait to try the fried avocado taco next time.

I finally made it around to this spot which has been highly recommended to me by others for some time. First impression: the location is awkwardly situated on this East Nashville corner, with very little parking area. (Fortunately, we arrived just as someone else was leaving: sweet! ...up-front parking!) Second impression, there is very little room for customers to queue up while waiting to order. (One had to constantly shift and step aside to accommodate customers picking up their orders.). The line extended out the front door. Third impression: interesting - and creative - menu offerings (I wish there was more variety, though!). We chose: - pulled pork - chicken - avocado All were delicious! (But, to be honest, i prefer a flour tortilla to their corn...) Fourth impression: the woman who took our order was friendly and helpful. The guy behind the counter who presented our order could have improved his appearance a little..(messy, hair, undershirt...struck me as sloppy. I don't like that thought when I'm being handed my lunch...) Having just returned from Austin,TX, I had enjoyed a HUGE variety of tacos - so this spot just did not have a fighting chance with their very limited menu offering...nonetheless, it was a nice relaxing lunch (a cozy outside patio!) with a new introduction to flavors. Will I repeat? It could be a while, but only because there are SO many other places to choose from.

I'll start by saying this the Elote and I will have a fall wedding and all will be invited. This was an experience that can only be felt through the taste buds. I ate the fish , chicken , beef and pork tacos. There was only one I did not like. But I will not mention it the other 3 more than made up it. And the Elote well it made me just forget that I had a taco that wasn't pleasant to my taste buds. I enjoyed my meal and lamented once it was over. I'll definitely be back real soon!!!!

I was recommended to come in here for taco's & I must say, best fish taco's in Nashville by far! I will have to come back and try more on the menu for sure.

Hands-down one of my favorite places in Nashville and I'm not even a huge Mexican food person! I've had the pork taco, fried avocado taco, and the sweet potato & quinoa taco. They are all amazing. And to top it off, you MUST order the Pineapple Cilantro Agua Fresca. It is the most refreshing drink. Highly recommend to anyone in or around the Nashville area!

  • Christina D.

Worth the wait in 90 degree heat with what felt like 100% humidity. Friendly staff and super fast service. We got the pork tacos, fish taco special, Elote, and watermelon lemonade agua fresca... All excellent and a generous size for $3 tacos. Lived up to the hype

I cam here based on yelp and many recommendations from my friends and I was not disappointed. The reviews and everything you have heard are right. Mad Tacos is the place to be for tacos and delicious food. Atmosphere: It's really cramped inside. Thats probably my only complaint. You can literally see everything that is going on behind the counter in the kitchen and you'll be rubbing elbows with everyone else in line if you come around for lunch. There is usually a line around the corner. There is a nice seating area outside, but they blast country music. I didn't find it fitting, but hey, who cares, the foods good. Service: Despite it being really cramped and super busy the kitchen staff is really nice. With every "Thank You" you will hear "You're Welcome." If they bump into you they say "Excuse Me." Class acts all around. Food: I'll be honest. It's really good. I had the Chicken and Pork Taco with Elote (Corn w/ Cheese) and Plantains. My favorite of the tacos was the pork. It had more flavor than the chicken. The corn was very buttery and cheesy. The plantains could have been a dessert because they were so sweet. They're deep fried and drizzled with a glaze like sauce. Delicious. Also their Agua Fresco is delicious. You get a little of the sweet from the Pineapple and some Sour from the Lime. Also all the cilantro that gets stuck in your teeth afterwards is a bonus. Overall awesome place, I will definitely be coming back.

Nom nom goodness is all I can say. Corn is the best ever and the tamales and ice coffee were delicious as well!

the absolute best fish taco I've ever had. this place is my favorite. pro tips: they have topo Chico but it's not on the menu. best bubbly water around. they will also do the elote off the cob if you ask real nice, so it gets stuck in your teeth less. best!

  • Angela Z.

Yes, it's as good as you've heard. I don't think I've ever been when there wasn't a line coming out the door. Aguas frescas- amazing. The corn is unbelievable. I've had several of the tacos and haven't been disappointed by any of them! So great!

  • Andrew M.

Went back because visiting family wanted to try based on reviews...well, I was disappointed again. The food just doesn't deserve the ratings. $3 for a taco is a joke as well.

    (2)
  • Mike D.

The drinks - amazing! The tacos - so good! The soup - nothing like it anywhere! The corn on the cob - super authentic! When I come back to Nashville, I will be coming again.

As I was eating here, I seriously considered moving to Nashville just to be close to Mas Tacos... (this is not a joke) Tilapia taco and elote were AMAZING. I decided to try the pineapple-cilantro water and it was nice and refreshing. Be prepared, as they only accept cash. (there is an ATM inside) Items tend to run out quickly on the weekends. Recently, they began staying open until 8 p.m. for dinner every night. The line is worth the wait!

Best I've ever had? Not quite. Best I've had in Nashville? Without a doubt (hence the 5-star rating). It's really hard for a Texan to get used to the mediocre Mexican food that Nashville has to offer. However, after almost two years in here, I finally discovered the gem that quite literally has me saying, "mas tacos, por favor"! My friend and I went to Mas Tacos for lunch during the week (on a really rainy day) and the line was out the door (yes, in the rain) but they have pretty fast service and are only open for lunch. Counter ordering then the staff calls your name over the PA system when your order is ready (FYI they call you as items in your order are ready, not all at once). Cash only, but they have an ATM inside. Tacos are really great and flavorful, they are street style topped with chopped cilantro (NOT your typical Tex-Mex crispy taco with ground beef. If that's what you are expecting, this is not your place). The Elote is so so so so yummy, geeze. I'm salivating now just thinking about it. Also, try the Aguas Frescas - I had one of the daily flavors, pineapple cilantro, and it was so delicious and refreshing on a hot day!

Since moving from CA I've been looking for great tacos! I think I've found them. I went with the pork and carne tacos. Took a bite of my girlsfriend's tacos. She ordered the chicken and tilapia. All were delicious. We also shared the corn and plantains on the side. Haven't enjoyed a meal like that in a while. The only I have on this place was the room we had for our meal. We were cramped into a little table a corner of the room. I won't let that deter me from coming back. This time I want to try the chicken tortilla soup.

This little hole in the wall is the BOMB. Yes, their menu isn't large and their place is small... but the food is VERY authentic like out of "grandma Maria's" kitchen. I don't know how they accomplish so much yummy in such a small kitchen :) TIP: AVOID rush hour times such as lunch. You may have to eat at an odd hour but it's totally worth passing the long line. Don't forget to check their open times-- a bit odd.

Don't' stop in t this place between 12-1:30 as the place was packed. We left and came back closer to 2. Much smarter idea. My brother-in-law comes in here all the time and loves the place. I would hit this place up to if it was down the street from me. Tacos cost $3 and types of taco could change depending on the days. I ordered the tilapia and pork tacos. The pork was really good as it had a little kick to it. I really liked the flavor. The tilapia was a little dry but pretty good. The sauce they give you to go with it was excellent. Service was excellent as I spilled my horchata and they refilled it for rme for free. It was cleaned up in no time and they were super friendly the whole time. They were busy but still friendly. One tip: The fried tacos do take a little longer so if you are in hurry then order the pork or chicken and not the avocado or tilapia. Cool place to live down the street from and I would visit this place if I make it to Nashville again. Originally I came her the toddler but we left and put her down for the nap before I came back and got tacos to go. They have a few highchairs but the place was packed. I would of chose to sat outside with her and let her wander around a little.

Mas Tacos is one of my favorite Nashville restaurants! The fish tacos are out of this world! Lightly breaded & deep fried with fresh, crunchy slaw on top. (Available on Monday & Friday only) The chicken tortilla soup is a 'cure-all'. If you are feeling under the weather or after a night of over indulgence (I usually get one to go Friday so I have it for Saturday morning) a cup of this will set you straight! The hand rolled tamales on Wednesday are delicious, too. Buen Provecho!!!

Atmosphere: Brick and mortar for a food truck. You can't really expect it to be amazing. Seating can get tight during peak hours and I've seen the line out the door multiple times. Service: You put in your order and wait for your name to be called. They serve it up pretty quick. Food: I tried the pull pork taco and the Spicy Carne Molida. The Spicy Carne Molida was fantastic. The spice was a bit much for the girlfriend but I loved it. Overall: Definitely going back for the Spicy Carne Molida. Hopefully I get the chance to try out the rest of their menu.

Very cool place. Kinda crazy inside and parking can be a nightmare. BUT! These are all minor things and fit with the atmosphere of the place and adds to the experience. Very fast service. Coke served in a bottle is a great choice but dont miss their aqua fresca. The thing that Ill be craving is their Elote. Get that, trust me. Great music. Oh and cash only, theres an ATM inside.

Simply the best at what they do. Fried avocado and pork tacos are a must. The elote is superb also and their offering of in house drinks go well with anything off the menu!! The lines may be daunting but well worth the wait.

These tacos, y'all. They're deserving of all the hype. I mean really... it was almost a two-lunches-in-a-row situation. Stopped in with a friend on the early side of lunch hour yesterday (around 11:15am), and boy are we glad we didn't arrive any later. There was a short line when we got there, and by the time we sat down, the line was out the door. When we left a few minutes after noon, the line had probably 40 people in it, most of whom were waiting in the parking lot in the July heat - but that's just another testament to how good the food is, because I think for a lot of people, a 40-person line would normally guarantee a "screw this let's go somewhere else" response. Not at this joint. I got the fried avocado taco and the chicken tortilla soup, and also tried the pulled pork taco. The fried avocado taco was SO good. Sooooo good. I could have eaten three or four of those and called it a meal, but I'm glad I didn't... because then I wouldn't have gotten to the soup. What made the chicken tortilla soup was the broth. That stuff could probably cure colds, hangovers, you name it... (in fact, I think another reviewer remarked about how it helped his hangover). The ingredients were fresh, and the chicken was fall-apart tender. I'm salivating just writing about it. The pulled pork taco was good as well, but it didn't hold a handle to that fried avocado. My friend, who ordered a couple of the chicken tacos, said they were some of the best he'd ever tasted. I will definitely be back soon, maybe on a pretty day when I've got time to enjoy their (limited) patio seating. Just as a final heads up - be sure to bring cash, as Mas Tacos doesn't do credit cards.

Read about this place in DC and noticed it was in my parent's neighborhood. Score! Everything from the black beans to the tacos were excellent. It gets crowded quickly so bring some patience, but you'll be rewarded with food that's as good as any you'll find in any big city, fancy restaurant.

Four words = Mas. Tacos. Por. Favor. What an incredible place! We went for Saturday lunch and it was a packed house but they had the line moving pretty quickly. I saw the menu and immediately wanted one of everything - especially the chicken tortilla soup that I had seen so many rave reviews about. Unfortunately 2 minutes before I ordered they put a "sold out" sign on the chicken tortilla soup. Huge bummer. Still had delicious food though. We ordered the following: Fried avocado taco - I've never had anything like this. So delicious. The richness of the fried avocado made me feel like I was eating a taco with meat. Highly recommend! Breakfast taco with chorizo = you can't ever go wrong with good chorizo. This was saucy, flavorful, and eaten in less than 3 minutes. Sweet potato and quinoa taco = I thought I would like this better. I think I would like the filling on its own, just not in a taco. But definitely different than anything I've had before. Posole verde - had to settle with this soup because they were sold out of the chicken tortilla. What a great bowl of soup. Topped with fresh ingredients. The broth was so flavorful. Would definitely get this again! Sweet plantains = yum. I always enjoy finishing a meal with something sweet and this was perfect. Slightly browned and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Drizzled with sweet cream. Yum. Finally, the horchata = one of my favorite drinks and was so glad they had it here. So so good and it was obvious that they made this and didn't just add water to a mix. Perfectly sweetened and incredibly refreshing! Mas tacos - can't wait to come back soon!!!

I mean, what do I say about this place - I have never had better tacos. It doesn't matter which ones they are (even though the Carne has my heart), it is all so fresh and delicious! The Chicken Tortilla Soup is also AN ABSOLUTE MUST! If I lived a tad closer to this place, I'd be there every single night, I promise! Also, it is cheap - cheap, amazing food. Usually a line, but moves quickly and is ALWAYS worth it!!!

I would eat here every day if I could. I live my life by the motto "treat every day like it's taco Tuesday" and this is my favorite spot. The tacos are amazing. Agua frescas are amazing too. The soups are fantastic. The corn is awesome. I actually should leave a horrible review so the line will be shorter but it's just too good to do something like that!!

Like many others, I'm sure, I found out about this truck by watching "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on the Food Network. I was impressed by the attention to detail and regard for authenticy. On my first trip, I tried one beef, one tilapia, one pork and one sweet potato and quinoa - all in the name of resarch. (I took 4 for the team.) The spicy beef (the proper name escapes me) is a well-conceived, well-executed taco that I could eat daily. It may be a tad spicy for the more faint of palate, but I would never discourage anyone from trying it. The fried tilapia taco is also very good. It is, perhaps, the best fish taco I have yet laid hands on. The tilapia was fresh, moist, not over-cooked and had a perfect amount of crunch. It was nestled in a bed of refreshing goodness that I'm not qualified to describe in detail. While it was nice, I wished I had more of the beef tacos. The sweet potato and quinoa taco was really a nice surprise, in terms of a concept. (Perhaps it's a well-established tradition in Mexican cuisine, but in any case, it was new to me.) Subtle, rich and balanced in flavors and textures. Even if you're a meat-junkie, you should try it. The pork taco featured well-cooked meat and nice complimentary components, but overall - and relative to their other offerings - I found it slightly bland. Perhaps in light of the other tacos, I could say that the pork featured more of a subtle flavor profile. A subsequent trip to Mas Tacos did not disappoint. The tacos were consistent with those I enjoyed on my first trip. I will return to and frequently recommend Mas Tacos.

I have experienced much better than this. I'll keep it short since there a ton of reviews about this place already. 1. No place to park 2. No place to sit 3. No place to stand in line 4. No credit cards-they take the orders on an iPad, so what's the excuse? 5. The tacos are average The non-meat tacos were unoriginal and basically just quinoa mush, the fish and pork were just ok.

HALLELUJAH. Mas tacos definitely wins the best elotes award. Hands down. The taste of the corn permeated with butter, cheese, chili powder, and lime juice is a mind-boggling taste bud explosion. With that being said, I wouldn't mind driving here everyday and waiting in the usual long but fast line just to get my elote fix. The prices are very reasonable and definitely put a smile on my frugal Asian face. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, so order to your heart's content! Just make sure you have at least one order of elote! (trust me, one won't be enough)

  • Bridget H.

What I liked: 1. The elote (corn on the cob covered in butter, salt, cheese and seasoning) is simply amazing - I could have had 5 2. The tacos are delicious and authentic- fresh ingredients and interesting combinations 3. Prices are very reasonable What I didn't like: 1. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy - be cautious in the evening 2. The line is long and the supply is short! They run out of options by the early afternoon so get there on the early side if you want the best selection 3. Parking can be tough- be prepared to circle the block Overall Verdict: One of my favorites in the city and a must for those who like authentic Mexican!

That pulled pork taco will rock your socks off! I would eat these tacos all day every day! It is definitely a hole in the wall place but it is a goldmine in terms of the taste and quality of the food! It would be hard to take a big group of people here.

Solid, Solid Choice. Friend heard about this place and we decided to try it out. We'll start with the good: 1) Amazing food ~ AMAZING 2) They have the Mexican cokes which are just awesome 3) Very unique atmosphere ... Decor is pretty rad in that its just random tables and chairs spread out everywhere. 4) Relatively cheap price point The Not So Good: 1) Parking blows when busy 2) Never seem to have guacamole !!! I'm a guac connoisseur .... 3) No cards ~ Cash only (now they do have an ATM ~ but still ~ no plastic?) Mas Taco's has made our weekly rotation of food places.

I had the "I don't want anything to go in my stomach kind of Hangover" when I came in for brunch. I honestly did not even order because I was so hungover. My girlfriend however had the power to get me some of the most memorable Mexican food I've had. On a Saturday morning I think best time on coming here is before 10 because the line was literally out the door around 10:30am. So to start off she ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup as a starter to get me going. I was definitely not in the mood for soup but when I had that first sip of the broth it was like fireworks erupted and all my dead brain cells slowly started reincarnating from the night before. It was super good. I finished the bowl and moved onto the next thing. It didn't cure my hangover but put me in a better mood for the rest of the food. I was able to eat some tacos that was so good and rich with flavor. Best one was the fish tacos. Crunchy and flavorful. I can eat a sh*t ton of those any day of the year. Next favorite was the chorizo breakfast taco. You honestly can't go wrong with chorizo but their chorizo was straight up crack. The pork taco was good but fish and chorizo stood out. The Horchata was like a sweet iced coffee. It was above average. Perfect for a hot day. I'm not much a coffee person but I finished it and I don't usually finish my coffee. We ordered the fried corn as well but were too full to eat it. I wish I ate it though because it looked so good. It was one of those R. Kelly moments when my mind was telling me no but my body kept telling me yeaaa (but opposite). So good and it was less than $20 for 2 people. Trust me if you want Mexican food this is the place to go.

Holy tacos!!! After my first visit, I am now officially in love with Mas Tacos! What an amazing place! I've certainly had my share of impeccable Mexican dishes. That happens when you're raised in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood in East Los Angeles and your friends' moms cook for you daily. If you've been to California, you know that you simply can't get tacos like they have in Southern California ... until now!!! Mas Tacos is on par with the best I've ever had! The pork and chicken tacos are mouth-watering perfection, exploding with various flavors. The Elote (grilled corn with cheese and spices) is unfathomably delicious! This restaurant just blew my mind!!! To all California transplants desperately seeking authentic Mexican food, EAT HERE!!!

The vibe: A wonderfully decorated busy taco joint where taco-loving folk like myself feel very, very at home. You order your food at the cash and then can take a seat inside or on the patio while you wait for them to call you. The food: VERY good tacos. I tried the fried avocado (hubba wubba) and the chicken. Both delicious. Also, they had Mexican corn. And horchata iced coffees. It was my dream. My go to meal: I'm trying to be a better human and eat less meat (though I love it so!), so I'd be very satisfied eating just the fried avocado every time. With corn. And horchata ice coffee. Yup. If they had churros I could probably die there. Do they!? Secret: It's not as busy as all the Yelp reviews make it seem!

Ok....I've eaten here at least 100 times. First rule: get the special. Fish Tacos, Tamales...whatever it is. Definitely try the Chicken Tortilla soup, Agua Frescas with Cilantro & Lime. They make excellent Black Beans, Plantains and Elote (roasted corn). The Fried Avocado Tacos are exceptionally great. Great people. Bring cash and try to time it to avoid peak rush. There is a line out the door every day but they keep up pretty well. It's worth a bit of a wait

Before you write Mas Tacos off as a hipster paradise/fad, try them out. Guaranteed, you're in for a treat. My entire experience at MT (from walking up to the building, to ordering to eating outside) reminded me of Austin. I don't know if the owners are from there, but it's definitely the vibe I got. This isn't a bad thing. Rather than the most authentic Mexican food experience possible, I think Mas Tacos serves up some very yummy Mex-texish (my word) fare that's decidedly more 'blue dot and weird' than anything else the Lone Star state has to offer. Add in a healthy dollop of 'San Diego' for good measure. Be warned: you will order more than you can eat. Everything sounds so good and is (relatively) fairly-priced, you're going to be tempted to order a ton. Take it from someone who ordered way too much: plan your order and then order one thing less. Your stomach will thank you. I started with the watermelon-lime agua fresca. Whatever you do, avail yourself of agua fresca. Whenever it's on a menu, I order it. MT's didn't disappoint. Packed with flavor but light and refreshing for a late summer day, I could have consumed gallons of the stuff. It's a good thing I didn't, because I ate way too much as it was. I started with the chicken tortilla soup. Far from what you might remember from a popular fast(er) food chain (which, if I'm being honest, has decent soup for what it is), this is without-a-doubt homemade and magically delicious. You'll want to drink the broth. The soup is filled with tortilla, cheese, cilantro, tomato, corn, and shredded chicken. The avocado which topped by soup and filled the bowl was a welcome addition. I found the soup a touch lime-y but I like citrus. If your taste isn't accustomed to tartness, ask for a sample before diving in. For the main event, I ordered the fish tacos. Freaking awesome. HUGE pieces of tilapia, surrounded by onion, cabbage and dill. Perfect. My mistake came in ordering three of them. I was expecting the small, wimpy fish tacos you can get at other places. Not so here. These tacos are substantial. Order wisely. The only bummer of the meal came from the eating environment. Since the day was nice, we ate outside... and were swarmed by flies. They were everywhere. It made eating tough and not the least bit appetizing. Granted, it's getting colder now but in the future, I'll make sure my MT meals are conducted inside.

Mas Tacos you won me over in one trip. So good! Parking is kind of terrible to find as they only have a few spots in front but the rest is street parking. I felt crappy parking in front of someone's house so I found a house a short walking distance away that was boarded up and parked in front of it. You walk in and their menu is written in chalk on the wall. Everything sounded so good! I love that they had a variety of Mexican beverages to choose from. I have a love affair with Mexican coke right now so I was excited to see they offered it. I would love to go back and try their iced coffee with horchata. I decided to order one castiron chicken taco, the chicken tortilla soup and the fried sweet cream plantains. You order at the counter, tell them your name and pay with cash only. They give you your drink and then start calling your name when the food is ready. My taco came out first, then my soup and plantains. The soup was definitely by far my favorite. It was so good. It was more of a clear broth but still had a good flavor. It was filled with chicken, corn, tortilla strips, tomatoes and cheese. I'm not very knowledgeable about Mexican cheese so I'm not entirely sure what type of cheese it was but it was good! My taco was also very good. My plantains were ok. I was already too full from the soup and taco to even really enjoy them. I will be back for more of that awesome soup!

Not a lot to say that hasn't been said. Fresh tacos, fresh takes on the taco, fried plantains (although I wish they were fried bananas), at reasonable prices. You may want to under order because they really are filling. It's pretty easy to go here for $3 if you aren't that hungry, but it's equally as easy to hit that $12 mark if you're hungry and want to try a few things. So it can be quite cheap or not so much.

Visiting from out of town, and came here based on Yelp reviews, especially since they were less than a mile from my digs. Unfortunately, they were closed on New Years Day, so had to wait two days after I came into town. Already setting the expectation that they were gonna be crazy-busy, I waited till 1:30 in the afternoon, and there was STILL a super long line out the door! Note that there barely is any parking in the "lot", so it's hard to find esp with the hamburger joint (The Pharmacy) across the street, and you gotta look for it down the street. Upon arrival, noted the giant finger-pointing mural and sign on the side of the building, as well as the arrows painted on the ground leading to the door, which kinda exemplifies the laid-back attitude of the place (and prob the owner!). After about 45 minutes in line, I got to the cashier. Note that they only take cash or check! The interior space reminds me of what a taco shack might be. Rustic, friendly, and crowded. One of the main walls was covered with a chalkboard menu, including a drawing of Guy Fieri (from the Food Network). Cuz I didn't want to send myself over the edge, I limited myself to two tacos, so it was a hard decision to narrow down the choices. Of course, I had to go with the - 1. Pulled Pork - shaved cabbage with roasted tomatillo salsa, spicy onions, and dill yogurt. This one was my favorite out of the two. It's really something special when you take a bite, and the whole thing, including the meat, is so soft, it's like takin' a bite into butter! 2. Spicy Carne Molida - cuban-style ground beef with spicy onions, salsa, and sousr cream. This one was great, but because of the natural texture of ground meat, was not as smooth as the Pulled Pork. Tacos are $3/each, and note that they only take cash or check. I had read somewhere that they actually started as a food truck and went to a brick and mortar location. It really says a whole lot if they change up the formula in some way and are able to succeed in a fixed space. Next time, I will prob try the Cast Iron Chicken one and the Fried Avocado. The guys here, even though they are rushed, are super nice. Coming from a taco whore, this is REALLY as good as it gets, and well-worth the wait!

I've had Mas Tacos from the food truck before but this was my first experience at the restaurant and I was not disappointed. I tried the skillet chicken taco, spicy beef taco, fried tilapia taco and a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup. All were excellent! I really enjoyed the soup because of all the flavors incorporated into it. I guess the menu does change from time to time so I didn't get to try the fried avocado taco or tamales but I plan to go back very soon!

Best menu items: Elote, Chicken tortilla soup, fried avocado taco. If you get those three, I can guarantee you'll be thanking me later. Also, they are definitely on the top 3 caterers for me future wedding. ALL THE MAS TACOS FOR EVERYONE!

  • Rebekah A.

Best tacos in Nashville hands down, and all of the side items are fantastic as well. Recommend the fried avocado tacos as well as the pork and beef tacos. The elote is my favorite side item. Only negative is sometimes the employees can be a little rude. Could be because of how busy the restaurant is or maybe just because they're hipsters.

The only criticism I have of Mas Tacos is their hours. They are so good I actually considered taking a star away because they aren't open enough. I enjoyed the tacos, we had pork, beef, and sweet potato/quinoa. They were all tasty and had very solid tortillas. I'd recommend them in the order listed, pork was my favorite and the sweet potato lacked a crispy/crunchy texture balance. The chilaquiles were so good! Only available for brunch, and worth going for. But come on everybody. The tortilla soup. How is the lid not blown off the tortilla soup here?? The broth has both a comforting quality as well as that fresh lime zing. I'd drink it every day. If you go to Mas Tacos, do not miss the tortilla soup. Do not miss the tortilla soup. Do not miss the tortilla soup.

I have to admit....I cried when I ate at Mas Tacos. Embarrassing, I know...but Yelp is all about honesty, so I might as well be honest! I'm Mexican and a native of California. I have constantly been on the hunt for a genuine Mexican joint with fresh/delicious food. Mas Tacos is it. I was so damn happy when I saw their menu and ate their food. It felt like I was sitting in my grandma's kitchen and eating her food - so so so good. We ordered the carne tacos, elote, and a bunch of horchata. All of it was delicious and our bellies were full with happiness when we left. If you want real Mexican food, this is the place to visit. Make sure you bring cash because they don't take cards. I will deffffinitely be coming here again in the near future.

The food doesn't live up to the hype. Go to any dinky taco truck off nolensville pike and I promise you the tacos will be (a) better quality and (b) cheaper. Mas tacos is by no means expensive and the tacos aren't even bad. They are just average tacos that have been hyped up by the same hipsters that hype up the pharmacy and other surrounding restaurants. I think Oscars taco shop has more authentic tacos. At least they are more like what was served in southern California.

This has easily become one of my favorite spots since moving to the area. Love the mouth-watering fried avocado taco! Also, sweet potato and quinoa taco is to die for. Always very fast, very smart service! Love the atmosphere. Would love to see what their take on guac or salsa would be.

One of our very favorite any time we are in Nash. The tacos are the perfect size so you can order additional sides and not feel too full. The elote is spot on with the perfect charr and amount of spice. The carnitas and fish tacos are our favorites. As others have said, bring cash. And an appetite. Service is fast but seating is minimal. I highly recommend Mas for a good street style taco experience.

This place is so good and I'm from San Diego so I know good tacos. It's really cute inside and the place has this very hipster feel to it. The staff is super friendly. I went in incredibly hungover and the woman taking my order gave me sparkling water with lime and an Advil. As for the food, I had the fried avocado taco and the cast iron skillet taco. They were both good, but the only issue I had was that I asked for no onions or sour cream and my tacos had sour cream and onions on them. Which was not that big of a deal so I just picked the onions off. I definitely will tell people about this place if I find that they are going to Nashville

Oh my, this place is yummy! Crazy yummy. Tip: If you forget, like I did in a travel rush, to pack your flask to spike the agua fresca, don't be scared, girl. Assuming you aren't taco-ing solo, one of you wait in line, one of you run over to that gas station on the left where we were cheerfully sold a 40oz bottle of beer and snagged two paper cups. Mas Tacos told us they were down with BYOB, so we set it up right on the table, Hollywood Raiford's style. Cheers to the day drink! Anyway, that line was pretty long, so sneaking away was easy. Trying the amazing food and wanting to order more? Not nearly as easy. So, two visits on two days it was... First visit: Steak taco, chicken taco, one street corn to split, a pineapple cilantro agua fresca, and one horchatta. We split everything and It was all crazy good. Second visit, two days later: Now we knew first hand how legit everything was, so we skipped breakfast and came prepared for our last meal before sadly heading out of town. Two steak tacos, two avocado tacos, a chicken taco, TWO street corns (everyone needs his own corn--this corn is insanely good) a bowl of tortilla soup, two agua frescas (I improvised a flask, since I wasn't the driver, and, boom, it was as amazing a pairing as I had hoped!) AND, when we got to the counter, we realized it was tamale day! Do we even like tamales? Have we even ever tried them? Not before this day, but we weren't going to make the same mistake, so we were in "order everything they have" mode and so I threw two tamales onto the order. Big shock, they were also amazing. We didn't leave a crumb. It was embarrassing and amazing. This food is phenomenal and the people are friendly and courteous--they even let the line come in early and wait it out indoors because it was so cold outside. Great people and great eats and drinks. Do not pass this by--our Uber girl found it easy! Thanks for the amazing meals!!!

My favorite taco spot in Nashville. The first time I went here I did not know they only accept cash. The cashier was pretty rude about me not knowing. Made a run to a atm and shortly forgot about her rudeness as soon as I tasted those tacos! They are no doubt the best I tasted around here. Only problem is the ridiculously long lines but I can't fault them for that. Perhaps the tacos taste so good because you have to wait in line for so long that by the time to get your food you are so starved that anything will taste great.

This place is fantastic! There is a whole bunch of creativity, art, skill, and love that goes into every item on the menu. I have tried nearly everything and I have never been disappointed. The Tacos are the flagship items to be sure, but don't miss out on the delicious plantains, and the pazole. And don't forget to down it with one of the superb homemade beverages! If there is a line. . .wait - It will be worth it!

My buddy and I ordered one Spicy Carne Molida each, a Tortilla Soup, and a tomale. The Tortilla Soup was possibly the best that I've had, as were the tacos. My friend didn't like the tomale, but maybe he's learning that he doesn't like tomales. We had a few quibbles: 1. the red sauce was distributed unevenly through both tacos so that one bit was hecka spicy while the rest of the taco was mild. 2. the items in the tortilla soup (chicken, avocado, and a chile pepper) were too large to conveniently eat in a spoonful, and 'knifing' them down to smaller sizes with a spoon with awkward. It seems that the ingredients should have been cut into smaller pieces to begin with. 3. We got the tacos about 10 mins after ordering, but the soup arrived at least 5 mins later. We weren't sure why it took so long to spoon soup into a bowl. 4. They don't accept credit cards. The prices were great, and the ordering line wasn't very long (three parties in front of us). Overall rating: 4 1/2 stars, rounded up to a 5. We'd definitely go to Mas Tacos Por Favor again.

This was my first visit to Mas Tacos. So what did I have on on my first adventure...the Chicken Tortilla Soup, Pork taco and washed it all down with a Pineapple Cilantro Agua Fresca. YUM!! The pork taco was bursting with smokey shredded pork, cabbage and finished in a tangy dill sauce which really made all the flavors come together nicely. The soup was awesome...so FRESH - filled with roasted corn, avocado, chunks of their cast iron skillet chicken, finished with cilantro, roasted cherry tomatoes, tortilla strips and dusted with queso fresco (doesn't get much better). My only complaint was that the bowl wasn't big enough...I could literally make a meal off the soup alone! And finally, the Agua Fresca...there is nothing better on a HOT summer day than one of these refreshing drinks! I tried the Pineapple Cilantro, but they also had Watermelon and Hibiscus....I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of them. They only thing left to say is...Mas Por Favor! :)

Mas Tacos is one of the places around Nashville that people rave about but to be honest I was disappointed. It probably has something to do with not loving super spicy foods... One thing that they are doing very well are the tortillas, some of the best I've ever had.

My favorite Mexican food in town, hands down. Everything is super fresh, made to order, and filling. I have tried almost every taco, the Pulled Pork being my favorite, but since I ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup, I have a hard time ordering anything else now. It's out of this world and worth every penny. The elote is fantastic as well. I love their agua frescas...refreshing and not too sweet. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food will leave you wanting more. I leave satisfied every single time. Heads up - it's cash only. I always forget this and end up having to swing by an ATM.

Was very excited to try this place after hearing good things about it and obviously seeing it on triple D. My boyfriend and I went and together, we got one of every taco along with their guacamole and hibiscus tea. I don't eat meat so I had the fried avocado taco and the quinoa/ sweet potato taco. I honestly disliked my food so much that I couldn't eat but a few bites. The quinoa taco just tasted like mush. (and I LOVE quinoa) Also, their guacamole was very yummy but the chips they gave us were not only burnt to a crisp but extremely greasy.

If you are giving this place any less than 5 stars you should reconsider... It is amazing. I had the chicken tortilla soup and a pork taco. The soup is so fresh tasting with a small lingering spicy taste. The taco... Well... I really cannot even tell you how good I thought it was. The word that comes to mind again is fresh. Everything here is made with love. Tax is included in price- cash only!

First off, yes, you must get a fried avocado taco - they're insanely good. But so is everything else. Cool little, funky space - low prices - quick, friendly service - and delicious food - I would be here at least once a week if I lived in Nashville.

I've lived in Nashville for about 9 months and have heard about Mas Tacos MULTIPLE times. I finally decided to hunt down the truck on 12 south street with a friend today. WOW. I ordered two tacos, the spicy carne molida and the quinoa sweet potato. The quinoa sweet potato taco was amazing. I mean, amazing. The tomatillo sauce, red cabbage, cilantro, and crema tasted soooooooo delicious a top the sweet potato and quinoa. I'm not saying the spicy carne taco was bad, but I would order like 5 thousand more of the quinoa sweet potato tacos. From now on Mas Tacos will be my go to taco truck.

Seriously some AMAZING tacos, soups, plantains, corn, horchata and mkre here...you just cannot go wrong! Try out the green hot sauce that sits on the counter when you pick up your food. Love the vegetarian taco options: fried avocado and the sweet potato quinoa...mmmmmm!! Each day the tacos vary, and some days they offer delicious pozole...so be sure to check the board! And go early, because they do sell out!!

Fantastic down-home comida without frills. Just like my wife's abuelita used to make. Kitschy dining areas, indoors and outside, featuring mismatched tables & chairs. Mas Tacos is becoming a dining destination, so expect a crush around lunchtime & on holiday weekends.

Pozole verde is amazing! If you are like me and don't like cilantro, you can ask them to hold the evil weed. I moved to Nashville from Austin and was a little concerned about finding a taco dive. Mas Tacos fills the bill nicely. The tacos are little more Mex than Tex, but all in all, it'll do pig. Makes me happy, just to think about going to Mas Tacos.

So charming. Did I expect less from the quintessentially charming Mas Tacos? Nah. My experiences with Mas Tacos have always been linked to the popular meals on wheels offering with owner Theresa normally hanging out of the window with a smile. From the patio of Imogene + Willie to street festivals or weddings, this RV stocked with homemade goodness has never let me down. So, why did it take me nearly forever to finally visit their bricks and mortar business? No excuse. I'm simply an idiot. Sure, it's location is a tad wonky and my GPS didn't help. This is further humiliating as I live less than 3 miles away from the East Nashville location. But, once you walk into this little haven, you automatically feel comfy and cozy. Just a few tables are available in the interior dining area or you may opt for the kitschy patio area too. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very efficient. For a feasibly affordable $3 each, I happily noshed on a scrumptious sweet potato quinoa taco and a plate of 5 plaintains. Add a refreshing glass of the cilantro and pineapple tea for $2 and you have a tasty, fairly healthy, and affordable meal for less than $10. Why eat disgusting fast food when you eat the good stuff for just a few bucks more? I have also enjoyed their roasted corn and fried avocado taco before and thoroughly enjoyed both. This location is a solid option if I don't feel like chasing the truck down. How lucky am I to have it so close by? Very. TIP1: Cash only! TIP2: The Breakfast Burritos here are spectacular! Don't count Mas Tacos out for b-fast or brunch. Your tastebuds will thank you.

I'm visiting Nashville for a conference and looked around for some good local places. Mas Tacos did not disappoint. Simply the best tacos I've ever eaten. The drinks are great too. They only accept cash so be sure to hit an ATM before stopping by and enjoying the best tacos you'll ever have at this hidden gem.

The name is catchy, right? Makes you look twice. But it's all wrong. Mas Tacos, Por Favor should be Mejores Tacos, as in Best Tacos. No lie, these tacos are the best not only in Nashville, but better than I've tasted in any restaurant or taco stand in Southern California or Mexico. Better than any in Arizona. I'm so impressed that I'd bet Guy Fieri he'd agree. For $3 each, you get a choice of fried tilapia, ground beef, pulled pork and shredded chicken with a slaw mix, fresh cilantro and onions doused with a not-too-sweet sauce all tucked inside a double layer of fresh corn tortillas. We tried them all along with roasted corn coated in butter and fresh cheese and spicy seasonings. The only thing we didn't try was the homemade soup because they were all out. Five tacos, two corn and two bottled waters totaled $23. You'd be hard pressed to go anywhere that cheap and have it be so tasty and memorable. Look, we're both Southern California born and raised. We've traveled all over the world. These tacos were amazing. Keep in mind, this place is nothing fancy. You walk up and order through a pass through to the kitchen. You grab one of the five tables inside, eat with plastic forks and spoons and rip off a paper towel off the holder on the table. Nothing fancy, but that adds to the charm. Do you know what makes it even better? The owner, Theresa, couldn't have been nicer.

I was so excited to try Mas Tacos after reading all the rave reviews. The area is a pain to park in but we lucked out and got a spot in the parking lot. We got a fried tilapia taco, a pulled pork taco, a ground beef and corn taco (i don't remember the name), cilantro pinapple aqua fresca and an elote to split. We got the order to go and I was really confused by the way it was packed to go. They serve the tacos in a little paper basket (think ball game french fries)..i assumed they would wrap the taco or throw it in a box, nope. It seems they would be easy to pack up but they just put the basket and all in a paper bag. it was a little precarious to carry since there were two baskets in the bag. The tilapia was ok, but really lacked anything super flavorful my boyfriend said the bite he took tasted like dirt. the ground beef was spicy and pretty flavorful but the first bite had something hard and seemingly inedible in it...cabbage core? or something. I found the pulled pork to be the worst. I understand this is a fatty cut of meat but the amount of grease that poured out of the taco was disgusting. It completely took away any chance of tasting the flavor. I was not a fan of the aqua fresca but that could just be me. The elote (charred corn with spicy and cheese) was the only thing I would want again. The only problem for me was the uneveness of the "spicy" it was pretty overwhelming where it was heavily sprinkled. I also filled up a togo container with the "hot" green sauce at the counter, it to was bland and not very flavorful. Maybe I just expect more out of tacos than most people? maybe I ordered the wrong things? but this was just not for me.

Man oh man, if you live in Nashville and haven't visited this place, you're committing a mortal sin. The fried avocado taco is probably one of my favorite meals of all time. I've never gotten anything at Mas Tacos that I didn't like. When I'm feeling sick, the chicken tortilla soup perks me right up. Now for those who've never visited, some words of warning. Mas Tacos is not your average restaurant. The best way to check and see if they're open is to "Like" their page on Facebook. They even post their daily specials on there! If you're headed over for the first time and aren't able to snag one of the few parking spots in front of the building (and beware of parking in front of the salon, they'll get testy), don't worry. There is a residential street where you can park, and most of the neighbors don't seem to mind. Now you don't have any excuse to miss out on this amazing little gem. And while you're at it, bring me a fried avocado taco!

Limited, options, but they're all delicious. Also the value is excellent. $3 for a delicious taco. I think the thing to remember is that mas tacos isn't trying to be an authentic mexican taco stand/restaurant. It's definitely tending towards newer hipster fusion tacos. They're doing a great job.

So, let me start this off by saying I'm hungry. Because of this, it is extremely difficult to write this post as I am absolutely in love Mas Tacos. Just thinking about this food makes me salivate and anxiously await my next visit! Let's also mention the fact that I don't want to talk about how long it took me to get to Mas Tacos, living in East Nashville for almost two years and just now getting over there. Do NOT make the same mistake I did. Okay, now that the negatives are out of the way... When you arrive to Mas Tacos, the line will seem a bit daunting but rest assured it moves quickly and is worth the wait. After ordering my friends and I grabbed a table and cracked open a Landshark (this is a BYOB joint, btw). Just a few drinks in and our food was already up! Now, one of my favorite suggestions on what to order from Mas Tacos from a Twitter follower was simply: "Try everything." I wish my stomach could have handled that as every bite I took was exceptional! We ordered Tortilla Soup, Chicken Tacos, Corn, and Plantains, all of which I would highly recommend. Everything was made with incredibly fresh ingredients, and served hot right out of the kitchen. The plantains were fried, with just the right amount of crispy and sweet. Pure. Goodness. Tips: *The outside seems a bit sketchy, don't let this fool you- the food is outstanding and it is SO cute inside *Cash only *Try EVERYTHING *BYOB! There's no charge *Contrary to what you'll find on the interwebs, they are open until 9PM on Friday nights Can't wait to go back and try more.

The tacos and sweet corns were awesome, but the soup was the best ever! The prices are great. If you go to Nashville you have to visit this place.

Always good! Right around the corner from my house so we eat here around once a month.

This is a must try for a quick lunch in Nashville. For the price and quickness (expected) this was a five star experience! (I wouldn't recommend coming here with more than 4 people as its tight quarters from 12-2pm) Fried avocado was amazeballs! Guacamole and beans and plantains were delish! We went back twice in two days and were sad when there was no avocado available :( should we return for a third and final day??? Hmmm I think yes :)

Amazing! Best and most authentic Mexican food in town. Make sure to try the chicken tortilla soup and fried avacado tacos.

I wouldn't expect to be giving a taco place 5 stars, but I I ate, walked away, and still thought later in the day - "Man, that was GOOD!" This was my first experience with Mas Tacos, which I have heard rave reviews about for quite some time. I've always thought, "All this about tacos??" I didn't even eat a meat taco today; I had the fried avocado. And BOY, was it good. So fresh, especially the cabbage slaw and cilantro. The flavors were wonderful, especially the dill yogurt sauce that dressed the taco. I can't wait for a re-visit to try different tacos, and hopefully the few other things on the menu such as fried plantains (which were sold out when I was there) and horchata. I'll just warn you, because a Yelper looks out for other Yelpers. This neighborhood is pretty scary. I don't mean questionable - I mean I saw a few kids roaming the street giving each other the "handshake", and then one appeared to put something in his pocket. And it wasn't a Mas Taco... I'd say there's a reason Mas Tacos closes at 4p on most weekdays. Go for the food, it's worth it. Just don't walk the area after dark. ;)

A hidden gem of a place in east Nash right across from holland house. Amazing fresh and tasty tacos for a great price. And the grilled corn is to die for!! On a side note I believe it's cash only so come with monies. Also, there is very limited seating so I'd go before or after the rush. Although they're only open for lunch Monday through Thursday on Fridays they also do dinner which is a great way to start the night!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. It's, like, 5 thumbs way up. I've been a fan of this place since I moved to Nashville. In fact, I try to take visiting friends there whenever possible. My favorite dishes there are the fried tilapia and the roasted chicken tacos. I also love that they serve a pretty decent assortment of refrescos, my favorite being the hibiscus drink. Their space is not very large but is quite cozy. It fills up fast but I've never seen that be too big of a problem. They have a nice outdoor seating area and have recently opened up the back room for seating. My only complaint is that they have such short hours Monday through Thursday. I am only able to get tacos on Fridays, which as a result, has become a routine for me. Among other weekend excitements, Mas Tacos every Friday night is something I look forward to all week. Though breakfast tacos aren't really my bag, I do like that they offer a brunch on Saturdays. All in all, I'm super hooked.

Me gusta Mas Tacos. (Brought to you by Google Translate) I love Mas Tacos. It's nestled away in Cleveland Park, er by Cleveland Park, I'm not sure if it's officially in the boundaries. The inside is charming and a delight! The side patio is even better. I went on Cinco de Mayo and ordered the Mexican corn and avocado tacos. Bomb! Serious, I think about it regularly. The staff is super friendly. This place is a real gem, please go there, support them, eat their food, make your tummy happy!

I FINALLY ate here after hearing rave reviews ... and I must say this place met my expectations. I'm a huge fan of the Nolensville Rd. taco trucks/shacks, but Mas Tacos hit the spot! Pork tacos were GREAT. Chicken Tortilla soup was gorgeous--charred corn, avocado, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, chicken, etc. and the broth was extremely "chickeny" with the perfect zip of lime. AND they have Mexican Coke & Horchata. Tasted my friend's fried Plantains w/ black beans and it was mouthwatering. Two tacos, soup, and an Horchata for $13 was definitely worth it. Someone sitting next to us had the most delicious corn on the cob I have ever seen. On top of the food, the restaurant itself has a cool vibe. My only complaint is (in my buddy's words) the clientele are "painfully hip". This is my new go to for tacos. Mas Tacos Por Favor!

  • Leslie F.

Yelp reviews led us to Mas Tacos, Por Favor, so I have to return the favor and post a rave review. Mas Tacos was so good that I shed a little tear that I don't live in Nashville. Tucked away in East Nashville, it's worth the drive to find this taco stand that features only 5 (I think) tacos on the menu, plus soups and interesting drinks. My dining partner and I both tried the fried avocado tacos, while I tried the pork and he tried the beef. I was very pleased with both tacos and would rate them among some of the best I've had. But don't take my Midwestern word for it... my dining partner is a native Texan and he was just as impressed. I really wanted to try the watermelon juice, but they were out, so I tried a pineapple basil drink instead. It was good, but I was really craving the watermelon. Everything is reasonably priced, too. Two of us ate for $15 including tip, I believe.

The first time I went to this establishment, I was very impressed. The food was fresh and flavorful. It reminded me of taco places you'd find in L.A. I also liked the charm of this place. The menu is really simple. The fried avocado taco is probably my favorite. The chicken taco and the pulled pork tacos are ok. They give you plenty of meat, which is a plus. Tacos are $3 a pop, and you'll feel content with two. The drinks are also really yummy, like the cilantro/pineapple drink or the hibiscus flower tea. I guess my only issue was after about the third or fourth time eating here, I was feeling a little bored. The menu doesn't have enough options to try something different every time. I guess if I'm in the mood for a fried avocado taco specifically, then I'd go again. Otherwise, it's a tad out of the way for me to keep coming back. Also Note: The restaurant only accepts cash. Come prepared!

I love this place. My favorites are the Fried Avocado and Fried Tilapia tacos. Tasty and seasoned well with a great touch of heat. I usually round out a few tacos with a Horchata, which is often a little on the sweet side, but plenty tasty. I was clued in the other day that they offer free refills on those, so I always have a few sips left in the car for the drive home. The soups are usually amazing and I've never had a side dish that wasn't tasty. They recently began opening on Saturday mornings for breakfast and we stopped in a week ago to try it out. The egg and chorizo taco was a bit underwhelming, somehow was missing some sort of flavor punch that I was expecting. Might have been more interesting with some fried potatoes or something in it for crunch. Even though I wasn't bowled over by the breakfast taco, the sides were AMAZING! The cheese grits were cheesy and creamy with all sorts of great flavor. We also tried the cactus potato hash... it was crazy excellent, but it seemed like an really tiny portion for $4 price tag. In general, the two breakfast sides seemed a little overpriced. As good as they are, I'd probably choose an additional $3 fish taco before choosing the $4 hash or grits again... however, I thoroughly recommend the hash and grits, as they are out-of-this-world tasty. The vibe at Mas Tacos is great. I think that there is something additive about the experience of packing into this great little place and standing shoulder to shoulder as you wait for the pleasure of eating the food there. Seating is limited during the busiest times, so you might not find seating if you arrive with more than just a few friends. If you haven't been to Mas Tacos, I would say you are missing out on something. Those of us who go their regularly can attest to what a gastronomical gem this place is in Nashville.

Love this place. It's usually the first stop (like straight from the airport) when I have been out of town for a while. Aside from the little taco shop hole-in-the-walls on the outskirts of town, it's the only place in Nashville to get a real taco. I was glad to see this brick location open up after growing a bit tired of the lines in front of I+W for the truck. They also did a great job by expanding the menu for this location. The chicken tortilla soup is amazing. Also be sure to check out brunch on the weekend. The egg tacos (chorizo or avocado), tamales with egg, and chili lime fruit (melon and mango with fresh lime and chili powder and salt) are all fantastic.

This place is DELISH! They have a semi-limited menu as some of their items are only sold on certain days. The only reason why I have given this 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the limited hours they are open for service and their ever changing menu. The fried avocado tacos are the best. They also have daily agua frescas which are also amazing. Definitely worth the visit! There's usually a line out the door, so plan on waiting.

I want to like this place extremely bad. I've given it two tries now and have been let down by both. Cool atmosphere, cool people, delicious looking food.... Just can't get into the flavor! It's got to be great for somebody, just not for me.

I spent 3 years of my childhood in Mexico City, and I lived all over the US, and Mas Tacos is my favorite Mexican food outside of Mexico. That said, they don't specialize in Mexico City style tacos (what a shame) but their Oaxaca-region tacos are amazing (pronounced wah-ha-cah). The tortillas are fresh, the ingredients and preparation are absolutely amazing. They have elote every day, grilled corn on the cob slathered with a creamy sauce, rolled in crumbled cheese and finished with a little chile. The tortilla soup (also known as sopa azteca) is not only the best version of that soup, but perhaps the best soup I have ever had in a restaurant. For any vegetarians/vegans/those who care, there is a quinoa sweet potato taco. While not authentic, it is delicious. There is also often a fried avocado taco. I also appreciate their drink selection. We called them "aguas" in Mexico, they are juice drinks akin to lemonade, but with other ingredients. Pineapple Cilantro is good, but their Jamaica makes me feel like a kid again. Pronounced ha-my-cah, it is a drink originally from the country to Jamaica (get it?) made by steeping dried hibiscus flowers. Think of it as a kind of strong iced tea. It is a dark magenta color and completely delicious. You can also get a Mexican Coke in glass bottles, which uses a different formula and has real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. The interior is in a kitschy, perpetually-half-finished state. The island of misfit decor, if you will. There are odds and ends tables, interesting knick knacks (an old pin ball machine, an impressionistic cactus lamp) and the menu is written in chalk. It is all cool in that effortless way. As if Mas Tacos woke up one morning with gorgeous, tousled hair that the rest of the world spends hours trying (and failing to achieve.) Since we live just around the corner, we come here almost every weekend and I love looking around for what new item has appeared this week.

I love this place. I go at least once a week. Tortilla soup, pozole verde, pulled pork taco and fried avocado taco are my favorites. The sweet plaintains are great too. The brunch tacos on Saturday are not as great as the regular lunch tacos, but still worth trying! Super glad they are open Mondays now and more dinner nights! Hopefully they keep their "summer hours" year round!!

When I walked into Mas Tacos for the first time I thought I was teleported back to southern California...This place is the real deal. The tacos are delicious and nothing is better than the tortilla soup on a cold day. Best mexican food I've had on this side of the Mississippi.

Some of the best tacos I've ever had. The Spicy Carne Molida taco and the Pulled Pork taco were fantastic, but the Cast Iron Chicken taco and Fried Tilapia taco were great as well. The tortilla soup was sold out, but I guess that should say something about how good it is. I also had the pineapple cilantro Agua fresca, and it went well with the meal. The hours are kind of strange - they close at 4 most days, except Fridays - but the food is worth it. I'm definitely coming back Mas Tacos!

What is the best way to start a mid-Saturday afternoon? Ok, perhaps a date with Zoey Deschanel or Kristen Wiig. But when those are not options I am going to tell you that finding that a roaming RV serving up Carne Molina tacos, Sweet Potato and Quinoa tacos, Cast Iron Chicken tacos, and delicious pineapple and cilantro fresca is near your house... is the next best thing. And, if you don't believe me, then you should believe Nicole Kidman who ranks Mas Tacos, Por Favor food truck as one of her Ten Favorite Things. I have enjoyed Mas Tacos, Por Favor food truck on several occasions and I apparently was completely negligent at both checking-in and writing a review. I deeply apologize for my tardiness. Today, I had two cast-iron tacos on corn tortillas (because it's gluten free that way) and I had one carne molina taco and one quinoa/sweet potato taco. The sweet potato and quinoa taco texture might be a little "mushy" for some people out there, but if you can get past the fact that your taco is more like eating a burrito (texture-wise) then you should be set. The flavors blend together nicely and are accented well by the cilantro and red onion topping (along with a savory sauce of some sort that I wouldn't know without reading the menu again). The carne molina taco is ground carne asada and molina cheese with cilantro (I think they keep the cilantro farms locally in business) and red onions. Again, there is a nice sauce. I would have liked for the carne asada to have been spicy - I don't know why but I feel like a taco with ground carne asada should be deliciously spicy. I highly suggest you check out this truck (but bring your CASH as they are a CASH only enterprise) or check out her brick and mortar store out in East Nashville off McFerrin.

Today was the grand opening of the Mas Tacos brick and mortar location in East Nashville across from Holland House, and their enticing tweets persuaded us to check out the new digs immediately. Anyone familiar with the mobile version will recognize the menu offerings - three different types of $3 tacos (today chicken, fish, and quinoa) and a few beverages for $2 (horchata, Mexican Coke and either cantaloupe or watermelon agua fresca). It's simple, delicious and thoughtfully crafted food that isn't too hard on the wallet, and its nice to have a place to sit (and a bathroom where you can wash your hands) at this new location. The restaurant itself is pretty simple - a handful of small tables, Southwestern decor, a chalkboard displaying the menu, and a rad old jukebox with a pretty kick-ass selection of classic tunes (when we were there, Jamin from JEFF the Brotherhood was checking out the playlist). My only two complaints are that this new location is still cash only, and it was pretty hot in the restaurant - even warmer than outdoors around 6 p.m. I think it might just be a problem with the A/C - the small bathroom seemed cool enough with the door closed - but you might have to eat quickly before you get too sweaty. The current hours in the new location are Tuesday - Friday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and rumor has it the constantly revolving menu will be expanding soon to include some more labor-intensive items that can't be made in the taco truck. I changed my mind. I like this place. Haha I went back about a month ago because my friends wanted to go. I ate it with an open mind and it was good. Really good in fact. It'll never be "the best Mexican food in Nashville." But that's okay. It's not supposed to be. This is a great place to pick up some tasty tacos.

Elite, elote, elote.. Mexican corn on the cob was so good. Perfect mix of Cayenne, Parmesan, lime and mayo. The corn was charred perfectly. I had a beef brisket tamale and it was very good. I didnt like the mole on top of it, but I am not a fan of mole in general. The chicken taco was also very good. It was a little hot inside without air conditioning, but wasn't that big of a deal. I lived in southern california and I miss the quality of Mexican food that I could find about anywhere. Mas tacos was the best Mexican food ive had in Nashville and it's not close. Kudos to you all and I'll be returning!

After living in east Nashville for 6 months, we FINALLY went to mas tacos. I would always want to go when I got off work but they closed at 4. Recently I heard through the grapevine that they now close at 8 throughout the entire week. Score! My husband and I arrived around 5pm and we did have to wait in line for maybe 10-15 minutes but we got there just in time because the line quickly piled up behind us a lot further back than where we originally started. We both chose a fish taco, a sweet potato and quinoa taco, and the peach truck agua fresca. I also ordered elote and he ordered the sweet plantains. We didn't wait very long for our food. Here's the low down: Staff. Very friendly! Price. Super reasonable. I think we had dinner for around $25. Fish tacos. I loved mine. Loved. It is my new favorite in town. Justin didn't care much for his because his tortilla was really burnt and he said it's all he could really taste. Womp womp. Sweet potato and quinoa. Are you kidding me? B L A N D. We both put hot sauce on them and that helped some but the filling was a mushy blob and lacked any seasoning whatsoever. We both agreed and would not order these again. I've heard good things about an avocado taco but sadly it wasn't on the menu this night. Elote. Now we're talkin'. This is the best street corn I've had since we moved here. Sweet plantains with horchata cream. Holy crap. Did I literally clean the plate and lick every drop of that delicious cream off my fingers? Maybe. (Hint: I did) Agua fresca. Refreshing and not at all sweet. I really liked it. In conclusion, I will definitely go back and have my favorites as well as try the avocado taco. Husband wasn't too impressed so I may be eating there alone. Worth it. Bye.

Awesomest chicken tortilla soup! Nothing like it. Pure delight in every spoonful. Want spectacular tacos? It's here. Authentic flavored. This is radically stupendous Mexican food. I love this place. One of the top reasons why my neighborhood East Nashville so very special.

Be sure to go on Friday and enjoy a GREAT fish taco! Also, what made me love starting to go to Mas Tacos is the Chicken Tortilla soup. Freshest in town, no doubt. It's so good. I also love their black beans with plantains and sweet cream. DEE-LISH.

It didn't jump out to me, it was allright, but I didn't see what makes it special. I first heard about this place in a national article, and then a few people suggested it, so I was pretty excited to go. I went for lunch here, and there wasn't much of a line. Infact, I walked right in and to the counter. It was past 1:30 I believe, so maybe the main lunch crowd was dwindling down. They have some parking in front, about 6 or 7 spots, and the nearby street is a residential street that offers parking on both sides, hence it shouldn't be a problem. The people behind the counter seemed good as well. I had a major problem with the decor. It looks run down on the outside, and the inside isn't much better. While the tables seemed clean, the floor just seemed dirty and a bit congested. I know they are going for a shanty look but I wish they would atleast mix in a better hygienic look. I also noticed that the place does not seem to have ACs inside. They have a few fans on, but I didn't see any ACs or any AC vents. So this place could get hot in the summer, however the weather wasn't bad the day that I went there. I walked by the patio after parking on the side street, and didn't see anything special about it. It's just a few tables and chairs outside, facing a pretty nondescript residential street. I got a few foods just to try out (all vegetarian): The fried avocado taco: This was really nice, the fried avocado tastes good, and the soft shell tacos and the accompanying queso blends well. I think I would recommend this one to most people. The quinoa and sweet potato taco: The taco was a major disappointment. It thoroughly lacked flavor, and pretty much nothing stands out from the dish. I make quinoa on a regular basis at home, and I've always felt that it needs something strong to go along with it, because I feel by itself, it has a bland taste. Some sauce or side dish to add flavor, and the sweet potato in this case was extremely neutral. The onions didn't seem to add much either in this case and the queso didn't stand out enough either. Elote: This was good, a bit messy, but good. Essentially, corn on the cob with some queso and a green lime. I didn't notice much of spice on the dish, but the lime and the queso does add flavor to the dish. It was a bit messy to eat, but tasty nonetheless. Beans and Plantains: This was pleasant, a nice side dish since I love plantains, and black beans. There is nothing out of the box with this one, beans were good, plantains were good. I like both of those ingredients, so I really liked the dish. All in all, I thought this place was OK. The food is good, apart from the quinoa taco, but it just wasn't extraordinary like I was led to believe from other people. Based on the food alone, I think I would go to 3.5 stars to 4 stars, but the decor brought me to 3 stars. The prices are definitely reasonable, although the portions aren't that big either. It's worth a try for once, since it does have great reviews, but I wasn't blown away by it. Also only takes cash, so be forewarned. I knew this beforehand, but I did see someone find out while at the counter. On the bright side, they do have an ATM inside the store.

This place was good, I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere...but I'm not so sure it was the most amazing place in Nashville (as many natives and tourists had pressured me into going). I'd definitely recommend getting the Elote and sitting outside. The line was out of control and I hear it never ends. At the end of the day, I would never do this more than once per visit.

SUPERB! Went for a late breakfast Saturday (10:30am) and it was above and beyond what I expected. Our plans got a little side track (we thought we could go to Marshe's, haha, nope, hour and a half wait would not do for us). So we decided to hit up Mas Tacos and SO happy we did. The NYTime talked about it and even had a video piece on them so-- hey why not. Things To Get Tortilla Soup: It's the lime and the avocados that really makes this dish sing. It is salted perfectly and the lime gives it that perfect ending Pulled Pork Taco: One of the best tacos I have had. Elote Corn: Damn good. Damn. The only con was that the breakfast taco (scrambled eggs were a little bland. I sadly had to add salt) Also FYI cash only. The atm charges you $3

Every time a taco craving hits me, I think immediately of Mas Tacos. Ok, so this is not your traditional taco place - think of it more as Mexican fusion done right. Mas Tacos consistently rolls me out of their door stuffed and satisfied. Pros: -Nice variety of tacos that accommodates both meat eaters and vegetarians alike -Nice portions, good flavor, good price ranges -Nice other side dishes such as soups, appetizers -Nice selection of drinks (though it can be on the sweet side) -Friendly and fast service (despite the long lines) Cons: -CASH ONLY -Parking for your car and rear can be a headache -Long lines...what can I say..when I am hungry I lack patience lol.

I'd been to the restaurant across the street multiple times, and had never noticed Mas Tacos. It looks like a corner store and there's always a line outside lol. Today I found out why!!! It's GREAT! I had a cactus and chorizo taco (sounds odd, but really good), a chicken taco, & a tilapia one . #amazeballs Plus, you can't beat 3 bucks a taco! Bring cash tho cause they don't accept cards. Also, for my vegetarian friend, they had a sweet potato and Quinoa taco and plantains with sweet cream for dessert.

Mas Tacos is great. The good is very food and authentic, the location is nice, and the staff is friendly. The pulled pork taco and elote were both incredible. Line moves very quick as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys tacos or mexican fare, especially at a great price value.

Great Tacos with a fantastic vibe. This place is just fun. Do not be dissuaded by a line. The time in line is far greater than the time waiting after order. I went here at peak hours. We waited 10 minutes in line and then less than 2 minutes afterwards. If you want a cool spot to sit - definitely go for the outside patio which has a great breeze. Also, definitely get the beef Taco it is HEAVEN. The other Tacos were interesting but not quite in the same league. Overall, the short of it, go here.

Maybe I'm just a typical Hispanic? Or maybe I'm just from Texas and know really good Mexican food...but I can understand why people here love it seeing as there isn't much else in Nashville. Just really underwhelming reading all these crazy reviews. I had the orchata which was very good (a creamy drink, try it!) I also had the fish taco, which, not sure what happened, but was VERY fishy. So much so that I couldn't eat it. It tasted like old fish. The other taco was chicken. Eh, forgettable. The tortilla soup had high expectations reading everyone else's reviews but honestly it was bland. Not sure where you guys are getting tortilla soup. But then again, maybe I'm spoiled. I don't live in Nashville. Also, this is a "Guy Fieri" restaurant with his dumb head spray painted on the wall. And there were NO mexican people here. Which says something. Everyone was a tourist that got on yelp and saw all these amazing reviews. Overall as a tourist from Texas, skip it. We waited an hour for this on lunchtime on a Thursday. Not worth it in my opinion, but to each his own.

I have been to Mas Tacos dozens of times over the past few years. You can never go wrong with their elote, chicken tortilla soup, plantains, or avocado tacos. Last time we sat on the patio, and we were swarmed by flies. At one point I counted seven flies on my soup bowl. What's up with that?! It was the first time I experienced this, so I'm hoping it was just a fluke. LOVE everything on their menu, but next time, I'm sitting inside.

It's as good as all the hype. Bare bones, cool space. Awesome food and good music with a patio too. I didn't want to believe it was really worth all the fuss, but it's the shnizz. I can't stop going back. Cool people, fast efficient service, gigantic delicious tacos!!

Driving through Tennessee and had to see what all the hype was about. We have great authentic Mexican food in Texas, so my bar was high for this hipster Nashville dive. We ordered tortilla soup, elote, spicy carne taco and pork taco. Soup was GREAT, didn't need any salt and they'd already put in the lime. Definitely try this. Corn was also GREAT! Perfectly seasoned with spice and lots of cotija cheese. The spicy carne taco was super unique and had amazing flavor! The pork taco was OK but nothing to write home about. Love that they come in corn, the right way! Oh and the jalapeño green sauce is awesome! Very spicy and good. I really liked the laid back vibe and covered outdoor patio. Also the drinks looked fantastic but we didn't try any. There was a line to order and you have to wait for your food to be called after that but they're pretty fast, so don't let that stray you.

We really enjoyed Mas Tacos and it was a great price! We decided to try each taco and weren't disappointed with any of them. The flavors were fresh and interesting and the corn tortillas had a great consistency. Here are the scores: Mexican corn: 8/10 very tasty with good heat Pork taco: 8/10 sweet but not overly sweet Beef taco: 9/10 very surprising because we were expecting something boring and average Tilapia: 9/10 very flavorful despite tilapia being a bland fish Chicken taco: 9/10 tender chicken and fast flavors Jalepeno dip: 9/10 great taste and nice punch to heat up the tacos

Amazing! I eat here at least once a week! Sometimes the line is long but it moves quickly!! The food is amazing and fresh. Check their Instagram for specials / secret menu items / extra hour events!! Pulled chicken taco is the best and the chicken tortilla soup is the best I've had ever, anywhere, and I get it all over!! They need another location!!

When an iconic food truck opens a brick and mortar, one of two things can happen: 1) The team panics at the sudden availability of working space and permanence of location. 2) They do it proper, and the term "wheels to walls" goes viral. Numero dos por Mas Tacos, with the disclaimer that parity among their offerings is iffy at best. Top honors go to the breakfast tacos, both chorizo and avocado, and the tacky maduros (fried plaintains) drizzled with sweet crema. The pineapple, cilantro and lime agua fresca and the elote rode middle of the pack - the former, a bit heavy on the leaf; the latter, grilled to dehydration but spiced and queso frescoed to great flavor. The carne molida taco drowned in grease, giving the distinct impression its filling was spooned from the dregs of an aluminum baking dish. The environs speak to a bodega picnic, and the staff are appropriately disinterested. Cheap, fast, good. 3.5 stars.

Thank you Mas Tacos! We are vagabonds traveling around the U.S. While in Nashville we were in the mood for tacos. Also, thank you yelp - for bringing us to Mas Tacos. We tried all the tacos, aquas frescas, elote and chicken tortilla soup. All was amazing and my boyfriend especially loved the soup - he is a tortilla soup connoisseur.

JUST RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME FOOD. I should stop there. There is nothing not to love about Mas Tacos. The menu is intriguing with a mix of styles including southern-influenced pork and slaw tacos to cuban plantains and rice. The portions are very generous and the prices low. The ingredients are fresh and authentic. It would be impossible for me to pick my favorite here, but the chicken soup I guarantee will make you happy. The tacos are fantastic from the flavors of the meat, the tang of the slaw and the smooth warmth of the tortillas. The tamales are fantastic as well. Just watching the staff roast corn over an open fire, or slice up whole avocadoes while waiting is a wonderful tease of what's to come. If you are in Nashville this place is a must-go. I wish there was a 6th star I could click on.

Mas Tacos continues to impress. Yesterday I tried their tamales and Cuban black beans with plantains for the first time and was blown away by both. The Tamales were incredibly light and fluffy and so flavorful. The Black beans had a ton of flavor, and the plantains were to die for. Literally, all I want right now are plantains. These will definitely be a must order from now on!

This place knows what's up. We went on Friday around 5pm. Not too busy at that time which I found surprising. They have inside and outside seating, but in the summer, you should probably sit outside because this place doesn't have A/C. It is a walk up and cash only place much like a taco truck. I got the chicken taco and the tilapia taco. The chicken taco was AMAZING. First bite and it reminded me of the grandma's famous chicken tacos. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Tilapia was great too! Tasted fresh, especially when you douse it in lime. Everyone working there seemed really nice there too! Definitely want to come back here again.

I'll make this quick. You need to get to Mas Tacos quickly if you haven't been. Simply put, it's the best tacos in town. I had some that rivaled it out of a small authentic mexican taco shack in Antioch but this is much more my pace. You walk in, figure out what you order (and order it as soon as you're first in line since there will be a short line), and have your cash ready. Be prepared, bring cash. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu but I'll describe my most recent meal at Mas Tacos. I had the Cactus y Chorizo Taco and a bowl of their famous soup with Horchata to drink. The soup was spicy and temperature hot on a cold night which made the whole meal that much more comforting. The star of this meal to me was the Cactus y Chorizo taco. I had no idea what to expect but it was tangy, savory, and fresh all at the same time. Get it if it's on the menu. Pros: Everything on the menu is fresh, tasty, and hand-made. What more could you ask for? Cons: Seriously, they need to start taking credit cards or some other type of payment option. Overall: An East Nashville requisite. Get the Cactus y Chorizo tacos if their on the menu and tamales on Wednesdays. Enjoy!

I've heard about this place for a while now and finally made it to the east side to give it a try. WOW, SO GOOD !! We ordered one of each taco to try them all and the plantain/honey dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. Totally worth the drive/wait and we will definitely be back!! Favorites were the sweet potato taco and chicken taco.

This is on my top 10 best places to eat in the U.S. This place is out in the middle of nowhere but it doesn't matter, this place is amazing. So first off there's not a lot of places to sit but don't let that get to you, the tacos, elote, Chicken Tortilla soup and Hominy Pozole is completely worth it. We ended up here twice during our visit to Nashville. The tacos here, you really cannot go wrong with any of them but in my opinion the pulled pork tacos were the best. The pork was so flavorful, juicy, tender, and was just amazing. The toppings on the tacos are phenomenal. The chicken tortilla soup had a broth that blew me away. I was not expecting to taste what I tasted. The broth was booming with flavor of chicken, spices and just all around yummy goodness. The Elote though, my gawd, this stuff is amazing. The corn is grilled perfectly, the spices and cheese are applied very generously and this stuff is just amazing. You NEED to get down here and check this place out. When we got back to NY all we could talk about was this place. BTW TIP!!! They do NOT accept Credit Cards, come with Cash!!!

Umm it was effin fantastic!!! The best tacos I've ever had in Nashville! I'm truly impressed by the fast service and authentic tasting food. It's cash only and affordable. I'm going to spread the good news! Id highly recommend this place.

Thoroughly enjoyed my tacos and the Mexican street corn. Still longing for Austin level tacos in Tennessee, but this is the nearest thing to it I've encountered thus far. I had anxiety about being able to get a table by the time our food was ready with the crowdedness, but it was fine because the turnover rate of tables was even with the line, and no one was being a jerk saving a table for a party far off from eating. I also had anxiety about how I couldn't see the menu for much time before I had to order. It turned out ok but the line setup is enough to give a girl a panic attack.

It's called Mas Tacos, but really the it's all about the corn and the soup. Don't get me wrong, the tacos are pretty good tacos, but the corn and the soup will keep you thinking about this food for months to come. My friends and in were in Nashville for Yelp Spring Break and the positive Yelp reviews lead us to Mas Tacos for lunch on a Friday. I ordered a fish taco, a cast iron chicken taco, and a bowl of the Mexico City Style Chicken Tortilla Soup to start. The fish taco had nice texture with crispy coleslaw and fish with a nice breading on it. The cast iron chicken taco was not memorable and like a chicken taco you could get anywhere. The horchata (cinnamon rice drink) was creamy and delicious. If you like cinnamon, you've got to try this. It was my first time having it, so I don't really have anything to compare it to though. The soup was composed of a light but very flavorful chicken stock with some lime juice. It had tender pieces of chicken, sliced avocado, rich cheese, tortilla strips, roast corn, tomatoes, and topped with cilantro. It was perfection in a bowl. My friends had ordered the elote, corn on the cob, and were raving about it. Even though I was pretty full, I decided to go back to the counter and order one. Let me tell you, I'm so glad I did because this corn was crazy amazing. It was really fresh tasting corn that was roasted and covered in spices, lime juice, and a flavorful cheese. Everyone at the table was like, "This corn! What did they do to this corn!" I grew up on a farm, and we used to grow tons of fresh corn every year. Therefore, it's hard to impress me with an ear of corn. However, Mas Tacos managed to do it. I just hadn't tasted anything like this before due to the preparation of it. Later that night, my one friend and I were up talking and the corn came up in conversation again. We were thinking about heading there in the morning and getting more as an appetizer before we had to meet my sister for lunch. My other friend who we thought was asleep sat up and said, "Mmmm...that corn! That corn!" So then it was settled and we went back for the corn the next day. We waited in the long line that hadn't existed on Friday but was there on Saturday. It was completely worth the wait though because that corn was just as good as we had remembered it. The corn became the highlight of our foodie trip. Next time in Nashville, I will head straight back here. I agree with Luke Y. The only complaint about this place is that they aren't open enough. We would have gone back on Saturday evening and on Sunday if they would have been open. This place is addictive!

I was in Nashville after spending the previous night and morning in Memphis and needed a break from the heavy southern style restaurants I had visited there... and this was perfect! I went on a Friday night so they had the Tilapia taco "on special". It was spectacular! I also had the Sweet Potato and Quinoa taco which was also good, just needed a bit of salt. The Mexican corn was what I was most looking forward to and it didn't disappoint either. The staff was friendly, even though they were slammed and I was able to sit outside, which was also great in terms of atmosphere. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm in town!

Saw this place on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. The tamales looked amazing. This was our first time in Nashville and we were staying downtown so took a cab to get some tamales (on a Wednesday which the show said was the only day to get them). Got there about 530pm and they were sold out!! I get that they only make so many but if you sell out before dinner time you are not making enough! That being said, the food was still really good! We ordered the beef brisket taco and the spicy carne molida taco as well as the chicken tortilla soup and plantains.

  • Lizzy Z.

So tasty and affordable and vegetarian-ish option(s) available. Fun place to eat with friends and nice little patio on the side. Try the plantains both ways! If the parking situation wasn't so dismal, I would eat here more often. Not open Sundays.

We drove straight to Mas Tacos when we arrived in Nashville, delicious! I tried the pork, the chicken, and the carne taco. The pork was my absolute favorite and I would order that again in a heartbeat. The meat was extremely tender and flavorful. We got there right before the lunch crowd so it wasn't crazy busy but it filled up super fast. The line moved very quickly. My mouth is watering just thinking about Mas Tacos! I will definitely be back!

These are some tacos worth writing about. And I'm Mexican... and from LA... but also now vegetarian. Came one afternoon in between meals. Boyfriend and I ordered one taco each, and he, the tortilla soup. Fried avocado taco. Best veggie taco ever. Went back the next day-- no veggie taco :-(. My heart sank, but I tried the quinoa taco-- which was good, but not as wonderful as the avocado taco. "I should have ordered more of them yesterday," I thought. Don't know if it was a special or sold out but I still think about it here in LA, while also wishing this joint could transport itself closer to my neighborhood. The tortillas are notably delicious-- fresh, charred, pliable, and flavorful. The garnish provides a great balance of textures, and the sauces are just right. I loved the decor and overall concept of the place, tons of character and urban charm.

Great tacos. We came here for the first time and the staff was friendly as we reviewed the menu. Fortunately, no one was waiting behind us. I liked the pulled pork taco the most, but the Cuban pork was close behind. My wife enjoyed the sweet potato/quinoa taco with plantain and black beans. Next, time I will try one of their soups. My kids want to do the Mexican corn. Great to have this place in Nashville.

I had the skillet chicken taco and it was soooo good! The chicken was juicy and the salsa verde and sour cream were perfect on it. The tortilla soup is amazing. The broth has so much flavor! There are fresh additions of tomato, cilantro, and avocado that made this already fresh soup taste even better!

Based on all of the Yelp reviews, I was prepared to see Jesus when I bit into my quinoa taco and elote. And it was pretty good, but definitely not the religious experience I was expecting. I was mightily disappointed that they didn't have the fried avocado tacos, and I took a nibble of my friend's chicken one - much more flavorful. The elote was solid. The sweet potato-quinoa taco needed a serious dose of hot sauce, for me. Everything was, however, incredibly fresh and crunchy, and a texturally-pleasing experience, overall.

This place is fantastic, amazing food and service. I had the pulled pork tacos and was very impressed. Spicy, juicy and full of flavor. The corn tortillas are soft and yummy as well. Must order the iced coffee with horchata!!!! People were super nice and helpful, I'll visit again.

I ordered the fried tilapia taco and I was very pleased! The corn tortillas really set off the flavor, coupled with the perfectly fried fish and the spicy dill sauce! I regretted not ordering 2!

Have been trying to eat here for years but the line has always been really long and would usually just go to the Pharmacy across the street and grab a burger. Made it in today and have to say I was a little let down compared to all the hype. I had three different types of tacos and they all tasted the same! I think it was the double soft corn tortillas each was served in that was sucking the flavor out! Dinning room was very eclectic and very small. Also had the plantains and they were very good. All in all a good Resturant but best Mex or Tx Mex in town...no way.

Things to Know Ahead of Time: - parking can be difficult - cash only - limited seating however, dealing with those challenges is well worth it in my opinion. I am in LOVE with their Chicken Tortilla Soup. It is now my "go to" if I am in need of some comfort food or feeling a little under the weather. I expected more of a creamy type tortilla soup when I first tried it. However, it is definitely more of a broth just as an FYI. Their tacos are also good and I am a big fan of the agua fresca- Cilantro and Lime deliciousness.

BY FAR, the best tacos I've ever eaten in my life! My husband and I were visiting Nashville over MLK weekend and went to Mas Tacos on Monday afternoon. We got through the line in 15 minutes, which seems to be a rarity according to other Yelp reviews. We ordered the Pineapple Cilantro Lime Aqua Freca, a Pork Taco, and a Chicken Taco. Everything was bursting with flavor and it only cost $10! Can't beat that! I don't think I can pick a favorite between the two tacos. The crema on the chicken taco was so flavorful with the cabbage but the pork taco was so juicy and tender. I highly recommend Mas Tacos! If I could have eaten there everyday of out trip, I would.

Hands down one of the best places to eat in Nashville. Don't let the grungy building fool you. The food is amazing! Take cash only so be ready for that. Everything is good, it never disappoints!!!!

Came here because of Guy Fieri's Reco on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives. So good. Had a pulled pork taco and the quinoa sweet potato taco. Plus a side of sweet plantains. Sketchy looking place on the outside. Great food on the inside (and slightly sketchy looking).

Best place to eat in Nashville, period. I literally have not met a single person who does not love this place, and I honestly can't say anything about it that no one else has said before... but I'll go ahead anyway. 1.) Chicken tortilla soup is their best item, and you must order it with whatever else you're getting. 2.) Pulled pork tacos are the best. 3.) Unless they have fried avocado tacos that day. Get one of those, too. 4.) Cash or check only, but they have an ATM on site if you forget. 5.) Order some plantains on the side and share with a friend. 6.) Leave them a tip in the jar because they dang deserve it!

I have eaten here twice in two weeks...and we don't even live in Nashville. We live over two hours away in Kentucky. This easily has become my favorite taco place, maybe my favorite casual place to eat period. We got the recommendation from someone at a shop nearby who had the shop tattooed on his arm. That was good enough for us. Each time we have been there, the wait has not been over ten minutes to get our food. The tilapia taco is SO GOOD! Freshly fried, not greasy...perfect. The sopa tarrasco is my absolute favorite dish. If you like beans, this is the dish you have to try. My mother had the chicken tortilla soup and did not stop raving about it. She also had the green salsa that is kept by the order window and LOVED IT!!! My husband has had the elote twice and loves it. We are huge fans of this place!! The agua frescas top off all this amazing food. My favorite is pineapple and cilantro. My ONLY issue is that the size of the aguas need to be larger. I need more of that awesome drink!

  • Kendra H.

This place is a true East Nashville gem. Tacos made by hipsters. Intrigued? Well then skip the long wait at Pharmacy across the street and go here instead. There is often a long line, but it moves quickly and once you order your food your wait will be under 10 minutes. Highlights include the spicy carne asada taco, fried tilapia taco, fried avocado taco, and the pickled cactus and chorizo taco. The patio outside is a pleasant spot. Go here stat! Cash only so make sure to bring those dollar dollar bills.

  • Kara G.

I do love this place. It's cash only but you won't spend much! You can BYOB and the food is great. We always get an ear of corn, the tortilla soup is great and I've never had a bad taco. Luckily, we live within walking distance so we get our fix often.

  • Benjamin R.

As with everywhere else my girlfriend and I have visited in Nashville, there's a wait for these tacos! Otherwise this would be five stars. We got the tilapia taco, chicken taco, and grilled corn (along with some white drink and an iced coffee). I loved the chicken taco, my girlfriend loved the tilapia, and we both loved the corn. The yard out back is really cute as well. These prices were incredible as well. yum!

This tiny East Nashville taco dive delivers big, fresh, authentic flavors at reasonable prices. Their chalkboard menu generally consists of 5 designer taco options, 3 soups (including chicken tortilla and pozole verde), 3 aguas frescas (including horchata), and 3 sides (black beans, elote, and plantains). They also offer a variety of weekly specials, including tamales on Wednesdays, cactus and chorizo on Thursday, fried fish on Friday, and breakfast tacos and chilaquiles for Saturday brunch. I love their housemade spicy green salsa, available in squeeze bottles at the service window. Everything is truly delicious, and the employees are friendly and hardworking. Things to note: They don't accept credit cards. They don't serve alcohol. They're only open for lunch, except for Fridays, when they're open until 9pm. You'll probably wait in line and may struggle to find seating. But don't let any of that discourage you. I highly recommend Mas Tacos.

Such a simple shop with a perfect variety of simple but interesting, thoughtfully made food. It appears that Mas Tacos used to be a taco truck, but has since lost that alliterative appeal by opening a brick and mortar. The quinoa + sweet potato taco was surprisingly hearty and delicious. The fish taco was super fresh. We had heard about a fried avocado taco but it was nowhere to be found on the menu. :( All tacos are $3 and a decent size, which is awesome. They also have a selection of Jarritos and some intriguing house-made agua frescas (agua fresca with cilantro? yes!). I had high hopes for the horchata, but it was watery and needed more cinnamon and sugar. Also it lacked the graininess of rice milk... I've been spoiled by all the horchata I used to drink from the erstwhile La Tacqueria in Brooklyn. Everyone was incredibly friendly, even if at times the place felt like a [retro, ironic] UV light drawing forth swarms of hipsters. Bzzzt! Mas Tacos definitely retains that "food truck" feel. Oh, Puja P found a very long hair in her food... The staff was full of apologies and gave her a free elote, which may have been the best thing Puja ate during our whole trip. I'd still come back. Whatever, those soups sound amazing. Worth a visit as a tourist? Even though it's just a taco shop, yes - especially since it marks an interesting "change" occurring in the demographics of East Nashville...

Let's be serious.. This place is horrible ! My husband has had actual tacos from Mexico.. And he says these are the worst he has ever had and he was born in south America so this is coming from an actual native. WANNA BE TACOS... We have been to many taco spots in Nashville and place was by far the worst .. Save some money go to those small little taco food trucks at an gasoline station they actually know what they are doing .. If you want something fancy go to Boca loca.

I absolutely LOVE this place!! Being Mexican, I have very high expectations and can say that this place definitely has some authenticity to it. The Tortilla soup is absolutely amazing, tastes just like mom's caldo de pollo The line sometimes goes out the door but it goes fast and soooo worth it!!

Food was great! We took people's advice, and got almost everything on the menu: skillet chicken tacos, carne tacos, fried tilapia tacos, Cuban black beans with plantains, elote, and pineapple lime cilantro aqua frescas. All of it was so so good! It's pretty small inside, but the back room wasn't open when we went. There's also a small patio outside. Quick service. Friendly staff. It's a hole in the wall kind of place, but worth a visit.

This place makes my mouth water when thinking about it, drool when I'm in line, and ever so satisfied when I'm tasting the multitude of flavors in the chicken tortilla soup and the pork taco. Quality has never been so affordable- I will always continue to take friends and family here for a killer south of the border lunch despite being on the opposite side of town. Thank you for being you, mas tacos!

So glad that Mas Tacos was recommended to me for my recent first trip to Nashville. I went twice during my visit. The food was fantastic; I had the chicken tacos both times. Though it was hot as heck outside, I had the pozole one day and it was amazing. The ingredients were fresh and it was just hot enough to be good but not too spicy. I also had the cilantro pineapple agua fresca, a drink I'd never had... the drink lives up to it's name; it was incredibly refreshing. The combination of cilantro and pineapple is not something I ever would have thought of but it was delicious. Prices aren't too bad I suppose. They are a cash only establishment, so go prepared--I don't usually carry cash so I just happened to be lucky that I had some on me. As mentioned, they run out of items quick, so go early if there's something you really want. I actually missed the cactus and chorizo tacos by a hair--the folks in front of me ordered the last one. So disappointing, but I have something to look forward to next time I'm in Nashville! Parking, as mentioned, is a bear. There are only about 5 spaces in the lot in front of the restaurant; I had to drive around a bit to find a space. I suspect that most of the cars along the residential street were also enjoying some tacos. There's not a lot of seating in the restaurant, but they do have some outside seating. Next time I'm back I'm hoping to try the chorizo and cactus tacos and the chilaquiles!

After moving from the promise land (Texas) the Hubs and I were longing for those street tacos that could be so easily found while back home. $1 a taco got you deliciously flavored shaved skirt steak on top of a corn tortilla and paired with some cilantro and lime, you ll be walking away speaking Spanish and packing your bags for Baja. So with this sweet sweet memory left in Texas, we moved here immediately looking for our beloved "street tacos". Locals told us Mas Tacos , so one afternoon we headed out with high hopes. As we arrived, the nostalgia of the decor took me back to when I resided in Guatemala. I was hopeful! But upon ordering and tasting , we were disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the flavor was great but these are not authentic "street Tacos" that you would get in Cali or Ole Tex ( or a Mexican food truck where you better know some Spanish) My husband and I left affectionately calling these "fancy white people tacos" still on the search for the now allusive , simple street taco....

Delicious! Their hours are a little weird, but I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food. I've tried the chicken tacos and tamales, and they are amazing. I've heard great things about the fish tacos, too. The seating is a little cramped, but you can always head to the outdoor area. I'll definitely be back.

Mas Tacos is delicious. Fresh. Distinct flavor. It tastes like quality crafted food. The menu is pretty affordable, at $3 a taco, and no item on the menu is over $6. They're small tacos, but so tasty. I had three: the Pulled Pork, the Spicy Carne Molida, and the Cast Iron Chicken. Needless to say, I could've eaten 2-3 more, but I'm a decent sized guy and I was pretty hungry. The venue is not exactly "plush", with no AC, a tight seating area, and unpadded chairs, but there is an unmistakable charm and community vibe. I love the "vintage" or "crafted" feel they have created. I personally love it. There's nothing quite like it, which is why I gave it 5 stars. Of course there are other equally tasty taco joints, like local taco, but the charm. It's the charm that makes it so yummy. Cash only! Another small downside, but whatever. A Nashville gem.

Did not disappoint! Order the elote and tortilla soup! God darn, this place was delicious. Ate a late lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Had a meat taco, tortilla soup, and an elote. All were phenomenal and the price was right. $5 for the soup / $3 for the taco / ~$2 for the elote. The elote was my favorite. If you have never had one, it's a must! Interior is modest. This place is not fancy. We are outside and enjoyed the weather and the neighborhood. Mas, mas, mas!

Best. tacos. everrrr. Love this place. It's small & eccentric, you have to wait in line, and the tacos are amazing. They have a little patio to sit on which is great if it's not really busy. Favorites: - pulled pork taco - tilapia taco - chicken tortilla soup - iced coffee with HORCHATA. Words cannot describe how delicious this is!! Go get it now. They only take cash & not great for big groups. They also have strange hours so check that before you go. Also, they rotate the tacos so I've never gotten to try the fried avocado taco. Fingers crossed for next time.

The food here is amazing, full of flavor and very fresh! The tacos are huge, two usually fills me up. The soups are the best soups i've had, especially the chicken tortilla. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. The mexican corn is a must get! Also, they have horchata (mexican rice milk thingy) that is awesome. The line is always long on the weekends, but move rather fast, I never waited more than 30 minutes. They recently renovated the outdoor sitting area and it's shaded now. Did I mention that it's also super cheap!?

We went here as our friends have raved about this place. These are some of the best tacos I have ever had. A couple of things, first, bring cash (or use their ATM), and be prepared to wait in line! I had the spicy beef tacos and the Sopa Tarasca. The food here left me speechless, which is hard to do. The ingredients are fresh, and the food will seriously have your taste buds begging for more!

Food is top notch and the service is quick. Even with a line you won't wait long. Chicken tortilla soup has an incredible flavor and the tacos can't be beat.

Sooo sooo good. Really truly one of the best food spots in Nashville. This was my first time actually going in to Mas Tacos and sitting down to eat their food. I've had their tacos before just not at the brick and mortar establishment. It's certainly cozy and funky and it also fullfils my obligatory dose of hipsteryness. We got there in the golden moments before they were completely swamped and some how snagged a table. Prepare yourselves, it will take a while for your tacos to come out, although our black beans and fried plantains were ready within just a few minutes. That was fine with me, the boyfriend and I actually had a day off together and so we were in no rush to get any place, just lazying the first really spring-like day away. We had each had a pulled pork and chicken taco and then we split the bowl of black beans and plantains. We tried really hard to scarf down the extra fried avocado taco we got as well but honestly two tacos each was plenty. These tacos aren't skimpy. These tacos are consistently really freaking good. They aren't like slap me in the face amazing, but they aren't boring either. Plus their sides and soups are also excellent. You must get an agua fresca for surely. I enjoy mas tacos immensely and I will absolutely go back to eat there again.

Sometimes Triple D can steer you wrong. Other times they find a spot worth hitting. This local Nashville taco joint is right in the middle. We arrived late in the afternoon, after the rush, to still find the placed packed. They were out of a few menu items, but the famous tamales were still around - we got the last two. Just like on the TV, they were delicious! The tacos, IMHO, were just ok - that might be the Mission part of me eatin'.

Definitely my favorite taco place in Nashville. Cool and well designed space, super friendly staff and, above all, super yummy food! I'm a big fan of the pull-pork taco, the fried avocado taco is new and tasty too, must definitely try the beef on my next visit. The chicken tortilla soup is fresh, light and just delicious! If I could change anything at all, I'd like the seasoning for the tacos a little bit more generous. BUT, I love this place and it is unarguably the coolest place in Nashville for tacos!

If a Mexican chef and a Hippie had a baby it would be the owner of Mas Tacos Por Favor. My wife and I tried the fish, pork, iron skillet chicken & the hot carne tacos. My favorite was the fish and my wife's favorite was the pork. Everything was so fresh and delicious we will be back guaranteed!!!

  • Alysha H.

If you enjoy sickeningly salty pork and service that is inconvenienced by your wanting of food this is your spot. Also, don't ask for chips and salsa, it's offensive to assume a Mexican place would have such a thing! The chicken taco was pretty good, though.

Its so sad that I stop in this place at least once a week. But I looove! fish fry Fridays. But if its not Friday the cast iron chicken tacos are great, the pulled pork tacos are great!!! The sweet plantains are good, but its time I try the chicken tortilla soup, which I presume is good too!

When a restaurant is only open 4 hours a day, 6 days a week and you go TWICE on your three day trip to Nashville... that's how you know it's a keeper. I love all sorts of Mexican food. I eat Mexican food at least once a week. Mas Tacos is legit. Here's the rundown of what we got (the first time we went) for a measly $30: Chilequiles with chorizo (Saturday brunch only) - so so good. Like nachos but so much better. Sweet potato and quinoa taco - I was slightly underwhelmed with this taco. The sweet potato and the quinoa were a similar texture and taste profile. It needed something crunchy and perhaps pickled to round it out Pulled pork taco - my favorite taco of the bunch Carne Molina taco - like a better version of those El Paso tacos your mom used to make for you. 2 horchatas - I am not a fan of Horchata to begin with but the two people I was with got these. To me, they taste a bit like toothpaste. I'm sure people who like horchata will like these. Pineapple cilantro agua fresca - Great agua fresca, not too sweet. They change these flavors a lot, I'm told, so who knows what flavor you'll find when you go? Chicken Tortilla Soup (NOT GLUTEN FREE) - I'm told this is the tortilla soup of your dreams. Avocado, great broth, and a good portion size all contribute. Fried sweet plantains - crispy caramelized outsides with a soft sweet inside. Drizzled in what seemed like sweetened condensed milk Mas Tacos is doing right by all the East Nashville-ians nearby. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Ended up here last weekend and was skeptical about their tacos since moving here from N. Cali. OMG so good! Tastes like Cali for real We had the Carne Asada tacos and the quinoa tacos. Really yummy and fresh. The Carne Asada had a little spice which I enjoyed. The restaurant itself was fun. We sat outside and it was good to people watch. Definitely recommend it

Tacos are one of my favorite things and I was excited to try these when I visited Nashville. The tacos were really good, but not the best I've had. Seating is somewhat limited but grab a seat outside if you can!

I can't rave enough about the food. The tacos are unreal, but the true [not exactly] unsung hero is the chicken tortilla soup. And the roasted corn. Ok, it's all fantastic and worth every bit of the hype. And despite how insanely busy the place is on a daily basis, the folks here know how to churn out consistently great food remarkably fast. The down side? They only accept cash. This is becoming increasingly irritating in a world that depends more and more on non-cash transactions, and I certainly have no desire to pay $3 for an ATM transaction to pay for my $3 tacos. I'd have spent many times more on food at Mas Tacos since moving to Nashville if they'd start accepting CC payments.

Painfully hip, mistakenly 3rd world, undeniably delicious. Several friends told me to come here, then I saw it in an in flight magazine, so I just had to come see for myself. They were still packed at 2pm when we got there. The menu is simple, the service is nice. The atmosphere is a bit too busy & loud for me. But the price was right and the food came out in minutes despite the busyness. The rumors were true. I'd recommend it to any friend that wants to try some great food.

From what my friend told me (who took me and frequents the place on a weekly basis), the owner once a year travels through Mexico to learn new recipes. Whatever she is doing, she is doing it right. The menu consists of 5 types of tacos. I went with the quinoa sweet potato and the pulled pork. My friend went with the fried avocado (which looked excellent). I'll get back to the tacos in a second, as we also ordered soups. He got the bean soup and I got the chicken pozole. The soups were phenomenal. The black bean is topped with fresh cheese and avocado and was deceptively delicious. The flavors meshed well and I would easily pick it up again. The chicken pozole came out looking more like something from a Pho Vietnamese restaurant - sliced avocado, cilantro, hominy, pulled chicken, veggies. Also delicious, and could easily make a meal itself. The tacos were great. I wolfed down the pulled pork in a few bites, and the pulled pork was tender and cooked perfectly. The quinoa was also really good, a fun mix of textures. Also take a look around at the awesome decor. Just be careful with your legs as some of the tables have shin hitters. NOTE: Look at the WHOLE Menu, and the stuff on the counter., They make their own teas and juices, and had I been paying attention, I would have gotten one of those instead of the Mandarin Jarritos (which is still a tasty beverage). ALSO NOTE: It is cash only, and with two people going all out can get easily over $20. For couples, I'd say split a lot.

The tacos were delicious. Talapia was okay, sweet potatoes and chicken were great. The plantains were awesome. I asked if they thought I was getting the full experience before I left with my food and they gave me a complimentary drink.

Yea! Mas Tacos! The tacos were great. I particularly enjoyed the fried avocado taco. It was pretty amazing and it was a new flavor for me as well. I was not such a huge fan of the long line. That said... A long line is a sure sign that a good meal awaits.

LOVE Mas Tacos. The watermelon agua fresca (when available) and fish tacos are my favorite. The fish tacos have had a variety of heat levels when I've been though, from mild to really really spicy! But they are always super flavorful and have a HUGE portion of fish. Elote is also really really good. I like to get one and ask them to cut it in half so I can split it with someone. It's cash only, so be prepared. There can be a line for lunch too, so best to come early. I think it can get a little warm inside so I usually sit outside. They're open for dinner a few nights a week, and I've found it much less crowded than at lunch. Perfect spot for a casual Friday night dinner.

BEST. I love this place. The corn is to die for. The only draw back is no drinks and it's pretty small. I have no idea how they crank out food so quickly. You won't be disappointed, I promise.

I went to Mas Tacos on a recent trip to Nashville. My friend goes there frequently for the fried avocado tacos and tortilla soup. The place had a cool hipster vibe and I felt safe in the neighborhood surrounding it as well. The line was long, but the wait wasn't too bad. The fried avocado taco I got was awesome. The texture of the avocado was perfect and it had great flavor. The quinoa + sweet potato taco and the fish taco that I got were just ok though. They tasted fine but I personally thought that they were lacking in flavor. I got the hibiscus iced tea and my friend got the pineapple cilantro agua fresca. Both were great--very flavorful and not too sweet. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would be willing to go back. That being said, fish tacos are one of my favorite foods of all time and I wouldn't order their fried tilapia taco again.

Delicious tacos and plantains. One of the best fish tacos I've ever eaten. 5 stars on food and prices. 2 stars for uncomfortable seating and a broken bathroom. Prefect place for lunch if you don't mind eclectic places and you want great food for low prices.

Absolutely one of the best ways to do lunch in Nashville. I've been here several times, and several times have they been on point. How authentic are their tacos? Don't know, don't care, what I do know is they are fantastic. Pulled Pork, Spicy Carne, Cast Iron Chicken, Fried Tilapia, consistently good, every time. All tacos are served on soft double layered corn tortillas, which I love, but flour tortilla enthusiast beware. The meats are always tender and spiced very well, the sauces and toppings they use are also very fresh and the lime wedges bring everything together. I guess the best way to describe their tacos is balanced, nothing is over powering, just a whole lot of harmony going on. The chalk board can get a little busy sometimes, but try not to overlook the fresh drinks they make. The Horchata is definitely my favorite, but the Aqua Feescas are really good too, especially the watermelon and the Pineapple Cilantro. Also, if you have room, the Fried Plantains really good, just make sure to get them with condensed milk on top. I've yet to try the Elote or Tamales, in due time though, and I'll be sure to update. I always get fast and friendly service here. If there's a line, don't sweat it, they move quickly. My only regret is that I can't get over here near as often as I'd like, and I never have the time to actually sit down and eat here. I do wish they took debit/credit cards, but there is an atm on site, so no big deal.

Small hut with charm and delicious "comida mexicana", very authentic. But to put it into perspective, the menu is a little limited (tacos, soup, plantains, and a few more items). You won't be disappointed!

Great local taco place. Proves you don't need to be expensive or fancy to be delicious. Tacos are large. I got two the hubs got three and We shared the street corn. Everything was great. My favorite was the pulled pork and his was the fried avocado. Line is usually put the door but it goes very fast.

Hands down best taco joint in Nashville and one of the better taco restaurants I have ever been to. Mas Taco seems very strange/different on the outside as well as the way they do business. It's located in East Nashville (most likely why it has the vibe it does), is cash only (there is an ATM inside), and is open Mon-Sat from 11-when they run out of food. That last part may seem strange but is honestly my favorite part of Mas Taco because you know the food is always fresh. If you go during the week the line won't be to bad but if you go on a Saturday with beautiful weather expect to wait in line for 25-30 minutes. I will say though once you order your food they do make it up rather quickly so if you are hungry from waiting you won't have to hold out much longer. The inside of the restaurant is pretty compact but it has a feel of an authentic little Mexican restaurant. The menu is above the counter where you order and changes depending on what foods they have. I have had 4 of their tacos and would rank them as follows. 1) Fried Talapia 2) Cast Iron Chicken 3) Pulled Pork 4) Spicy Carne Molida. The first 3 are mouth watering and you'll most likely want to order more once you finish. The Spicy Carne is ok but just doesn't have the same bold flavors the other tacos have. Although the tacos are delicious there are two starters that are out of this world. The Elote and the Tortilla Soup are outstanding. I could eat Elote all day for the rest of my life and I don't like soups but the Tortilla Soup has so many ingredients mixed in I actually enjoyed it. Overall this place is a must stop if you are in Nashville or East Nashville just make sure you have some cash on you!

I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and had a great experience. It was busy but we only had to wait a minute or two to get a table. I got the chicken tortilla soup, which was so good, and a couple of tacos. Everything was fresh and delicious. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Nashville.

I would categorize this place as authentic "Austin-hipster Taco Shack". The food is super fresh, constructed with great care and attention, and incorporating some interesting modern palate trends. All this contradicted by the ambiance... it's a shack (in Houston we would call this an "Ice House"). This is the BEST taco shop in Nashville. Though I have not had a single menu item I did not like, their tortilla soup is worthy of specific mention... divine.

Hands down the best tacos in Nashville and tamale Wednesday is a standout! I was struck by the owner Teresa early on. She is great with her customers, knows her regulars by name, and is always friendly in making suggestions. The line is usually out the door. Go early! Also to get the tamales before they sell out. They have added a patio which is helpful because it's a small place with a legion of fans. Favorites: Tortilla soup, fish tacos (Fridays), and the fried avocado taco. They have a spicy beef and a pork selection, as well as sweet potato and quinoa. There is something for everyone. Try the Elote street corn, grilled to perfection with the right balance of spice finished off with a dusting of queso fresco. Not to be missed. Also try one of the aguas frescas to drink. My favorite is the pineapple cilantro. If you ask anyone in East Nashville about Mas Tacos, they will know it and highly recommend. I've never heard one bad review. Tip: go with cash or check. Cards are not accepted, but they have added an ATM onsite.

Unbelievable food and unbelievable price. I'm from LA and have super high expectations of Hispanic food. This place was fantastic. Everything was full of flavor. I loved the carne ground beef and chicken tacos as well as the black beans. My sister loved the corn on the Cobb. This place is a must visit. Every time I come to Nashville in the future I will be going here!!

Order the Chicken Tortilla Soup. If you get nothing else from the reviews listed, ORDER THE CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP! I wanted to drink it. It was awesome! The chicken was delicious. Loved everything about it...just LOVED IT! There was a line out the door when I got there, so be prepared. But it's worth it!

All taco spots shall be compared to our local taco truck, Taceaux Loceaux. Few have even come close but Mas Tacos rose to the challenge. Yummy tacos with fresh ingredients that go together swimmingly. It's a bit cramped inside so prepare to bump into some strangers. $3 per taco (1 per order) allows you to try a couple if you're hungry. The quinoa sweet potato taco made me happy.

Hands down, the best tacos, tortilla soup I have ever had. I love the staff and Teresa. They are always warm and welcoming. The food is cheap but it tastes like a million bucks. I like to come to Mas Tacos every day if I could, but so does everyone else.

Impressive! Chorizo and cactus taco was the special tonight- beautifully done. The elote has the perfect combo of cheese and and lime. Tortilla soup was the best I've had in many years! Everything had just the right amount of spicy heat. Place is essentially a inside version of a food truck - daily specials, limited menu, looks like they run out of their popular dishes pretty frequently so get their early. Great, personal service, cool little patio. No beer (too bad) but they have Mexican sodas. Neighborhood is dark, bring a flashlight to find your car after your belly is full!

The best Mexican food that I've had outside of southern California. Love the beef tacos. So flavorful and tender. And when they're available, also love the fried avocado tacos. Their horchata is a little too sweet for my liking, but I enjoy their watermelon agua fresca.

We stopped in to Mas Tacos on our way home from Minnesota. I used Yelp to find this little gem. It definitely looks like a hole in the wall & isn't in the best area of town. Though, I'm a firm believer that some of the best food you'll ever find is in sketchy areas of town. (Not that this area was sketchy in the slightest bit.) We had the chicken, beef, pork, and fried avocado tacos, elote, horchata, and agua fresca! The meats were slowly cooked to perfect. The tortillas were amazing, which says a lot coming from me because I typically hate tortillas. (I think they always smell like feet, but not this time.) It's rare for me to find taco places that I adore, but Mas Tacos is amazing! Too bad I live in Florida and they're located in Nashville... Can't you guys just move here?!

This place is at the top of "Nashville Favorites" list My friend and I read the reviews for this place and decided to head over there on a Wednesday night near closing time. We had to park two blocks down because the place was packed. We managed to slip in at a good time because the line was short and the staff were quick. I can't remember the name of the taco I got but it was spicy and I believe it had ground beef and corn. My friend got two chicken tacos and we split an elote. We got a spot at the bar-like area near the counter and waited less than five minutes before they called out our order. My taco was good but my friends chicken taco was amazing! The elote was good- it's not hard to mess up corn- but a little cold. I didn't mind but I could see some people being turned off by that. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. It was tiny but they had plenty of seating both inside and out. If I find myself in the area again, I'll definitely be stopping back. I wish I would've tried the horchata!

Mas Tacos is a unique experience that lets you escape the typical Tex Mex we are so used to. I loved the pulled pork and breakfast tacos but my favorite was the Chilaquiles!

Love this place! Simple and uncomplicated, comfortable, great food and quick service. Wandered in here on a solo trip to Nashville. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town. Order the Horchata!

We were craving tropical food and refreshing drinks. Plantains. Check. Fish tacos. Check. Horchata. Check. They did run out of tilapia tacos as we got to the window, but we still got one and the substitute, fried avocado looked delicious. The pulled pork taco was not bad, the carne taco was excellent, and the quinoa sweet potato taco was great. The taco sizes were generous. Eat three tacos plus a side and you may have to be rolled out of the restaurant. The horchata washed everything down with a lovely flavor. I'll have to try the other aguas frescas next time. Service is friendly and cool. Despite a line to get in and order, food came out in reasonable time. Parking is a little tight so allow some time to walk from around the block or you might order the whole menu. I nearly did.

  • David F.

Omg. These were the finest tacos I have ever consumed in my 45 years on this planet. And they ran out of chips so they started giving away big, tasty bowls of guac to anyone who wanted it. Mexican Coke. Fish, spicy carne molida and pollo tacos. And maduros! If I could eat here for every meal for the rest of our vacation I would. It's that good. Run. Don't walk!!!!

great taco place! I really loved the flavor. great veggie options so that was a plus. 4 stars and not 5 because it was just not very clean where the eating area was. Please place the trash cans farther away because there were too many flies. Next time we will take it to go!

Our experience was nothing short of incredible. The line was long and worth the wait. Parking was easy across the street and we bought beers a block away. The corn tortillas were expertly grilled for the tacos. Great consistency and while wet, the tacos were not soggy. The Cuban beans were very flavorful. We also ordered the tortilla soup which was the best we ever had. We ordered the pork, carne and tilapia tacos and we rated them in that order. The tilapia we didn't finish. Too fishy and lacked flavor as the other two. The pork taco was hands down the best. We also ordered the corn cob which was a great different take on corn on the cob.

The best hole in the wall reaturant in Nashville. Also the most authentic tacos I have found in Nashville. This place is the bomb!! I highly highly recommend checking it out! Its cash only and is only open for lunch but besides those two minor details this place is perfect!!!

Our Nashville friends took us here for lunch about a week ago and we were so impressed, had it not been pressing work-related matters in Orlando, we would've stopped by one last time before we headed out of town. Simply put, these were some of the best Mexican tacos & soup that I have ever had. I had the chicken tortilla soup, a pulled pork taco, and a ground beef taco. Everything was crazy delicious. I would have licked the paper trays for juices had it not been for other patrons in the restaurant. The meats were tender & flavorful and I absolutely LOVE the ingredients that came inside the tacos. The star of the meal was the soup. Hands down. I describe myself as a very "soupy person" and that was the best tortilla soup I've ever had. I love that they use queso fresca instead of just shredded cheese in the soup and the chunks of avocado were perfectly ripe. It's a bit on the spicy side but definitely worth the pain. Try it, you will LOVE it!

Mas Tacos is about as awesome as it gets. I would truly give it 5 stars but for the tad over zealous fiery spice of the food. Don't get me wrong as I keep going back for more but I definitely hit all water requirements on the days I go. I just order 3 bottles of water with my taco, soup and corn. I have to go on Friday because I love the fish taco and I'm usually not a fan but this one is delish! The chicken tortilla soup is to die for and the grilled corn is pure heaven. Yum!! Mas Aqua and pass the Roland's but it is so worth it!

Just fantastic. When I moved here about two years ago this was on the top of my list. It's a tiny little place in a pretty sleepy East Nashville neighborhood; it used to be a bit of a hidden treasure but has understandably seen a tremendous increase in business. It's a must visit and as a part of your visit you have the get the pineapple-cilantro drink; sounds weird but is awesome...

So we asked a ton of people where we should eat in Nashville and Mas Tacos kept showing up on everyone's list. We finally gave in and went. It was right to be on everyone's list. It was so delicious. I ordered the cast iron skillet chicken and the tortilla soup. The taco was good but the soup was amazing, it blew my mind. I could have ate two more bowls. The place is super quirky and a must go to especially for the out of towners.

So I read the reviews and I am a huge fan of tacos. The line was out the door. Little hole in the wall place. Typically a good sign. HOWEVER, the food was very basic, not many choices and although the food was not horrible it wasn't good by far.

    (1)
  • Allie R.

I went with several friends not to long back and if they were writing the review, it would have been a bad one.... they didn't really get the run down store, the small selection of tacos or the whole vibe... so I was the only one who got food and boy did they miss out. I had their breakfast tacos with chorizo, very good and I also had the chicken tortilla soup. The soup was wonderful and not your typical Mexican restaurant soup. It seemed really authentic, wonderful broth and flavors, huge chicken pieces. The whole water situation could be a little better if that's what you want to drink, but oh well. I liked it a lot.

Best taco I have had!! Ever!! Love the location and the mix of people. Make sure you bring cash, they do have an ATM machine but it was out of service. We had two different tacos (Spicy Carne Molida - My Favorite & Cast Iron Chicken Taco) and the Elote, which is grilled corn rolled in queso & spice. Great lunch spot that is in & out.

I went to pick up food for my fiancé and I - they didn't have great to go food treys, but quickly found a box to accommodate my needs. The food was great.

Dios mío!!!" Ohhh Dios mío!!!", these are some the best tacos we have ever had the pleasure of consuming. Now do not be fooled by the exterior. My husband said, are you sure this is where you want to eat? I said Yep, I am a cheap date. And as usual I was right The menu is written on the chalkboard and is simple with enough choices to satisfy everyone. The prices are incredible ($3 for a taco). We go up to the counter, order and pay and they call you when it is ready. Bring cash, no credit here. The food is fresh and light with flavors abound. We had the fried avocado, pulled pork and sweet potato with Quinoa. Each taco came with roughly the same toppings of slaw, cilantro and sauce but each filling worked great with the toppings. The pulled pork was perfectly cooked with fantastic flavor. The sweet potato gave a what else, sweet flavor to pair along with the texture of the Quinoa. Last but not least the fried avocado, whoever thought to fry and avocado was a genius. If an good avocado is not creamy enough, batter it, fry it and eat away. This is a must try for so many reasons. And me being a connoissuer of cheap, $10 bucks for 3 tacos and a water. Heck Yeah!!!

I RARELY give 5 stars when I review on Yelp (in fact, this is my first one!) - Mas Tacos takes the cake. I seriously have dreams about their tortilla soup! Mas Tacos is a perfect example of "don't judge a book by it's cover." While the exterior and location might scare away some narrow minded souls, the food and environment inside is just wonderful. The food is SO fresh, tastes amazing and flavorful, and the portions are generous. The environment is very "hipster," which makes people watching super fun. While you may be thrown off that none of the employees appear to be Mexican, the food is definitely not "Americanized" Mexican food or tex-mex. All of the employees work their butts off in the kitchen, as the line is usually very long here (a true testament of the quality of the food!). My recommendations: The cast iron chicken taco, the tortilla soup and the pineapple cilantro agua fresca Make sure to bring cash!! They are a cash-only establishment.

The place itself is really small and crowded, with a long line to get in. It took a long time for us to get to the register, however, this is a great dive with great food. I got the spicy Carne Molida tacos and the elote (corn on the cob). It was fantastic and very spicy. So if spicy isn't your thing, you may want to pass since even the non-spicy dishes are pretty spicy. Also remember, this is a cash only place but they do have an ATM (kind of sketchy though) inside.

We used Mas Tacos food truck to cater our wedding. Theresa was fabulous to work with from the start. Herself and her staff were a pleasure to have at the wedding! Our guests loved the look of the truck and raved about the tacos and elote! I am so happy to have found them. Their price point was more than fair as well! Can't wait to pop in for lunch soon!

Authentic, flavorful, affordable. If I lived nearby, I'd likely eat here several times a week. Worth the wait in line.

Fish Fry Friday! Need I say more? I've loved these tacos since they were only sold out of a truck at 2am in 5 Points. Thankfully now I can get them during regular hours and sit inside Mas Tacos' cute little shop! Fresh and consistent ingredients, seriously delicious tacos & sides and interesting drink choices. I really am obsessed and have been for years! Follow them on twitter @mastacos - they are really good about tweeting out which tacos they have that day. My favorites are the fried tilapia and fried avocado! Chicken tortilla soup is amazeballs as well!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Incredibly delicious food. Good prices. Great service. This place is perfect: Local, high quality, friendly. It's everything that all the other slow food (hipster) places are trying to be without the attitude. The owner, Teresa is so friendly and this place reflects her awesome personality and attitude. Looking forward to coming back again and again! Had three tacos and the plantains--FANTASTIC. I live in NYC and have two taquerias in my neighborhood. They are not as good as this place.

Best tacos in Nashville. Authentic Mexican food.the carne taco is my favorite. The soups are amazing especially the chicken tortilla. Also love the elote corn. Great coffee as well. The cream dessert plantains are awesome too. Our favorite go to place in Nashville. Nothing bad to say about it besides I wish they were always open.

I wouldn't know an authentic taco if it bit me on the butt, but I'm quite happy to eat these any day. I've heard so much about this place, even from friends who live out of town who read about it somewhere. I finally went today. I drove longer than I'd like for a few tacos, but it was worth it. I love the grungy atmosphere, and the tacos were excellent. I'll be back.

Wow this place was great!! How can you go wrong with $3 tacos that are of this quality. We had the spicy beef, tilapia and the grilled corn on the cob. The spicy beef was spicy but flavorful and had the perfect balance. The tilapia was perfectly done and tasted great and don't skip the corn. The place was packed and a line the whole time we were there but was not a big deal, that was part of the draw! Congrats on the great taco shop!

Yum! Do not pass up visiting this dive because you'll miss its great food. Simply yum. Worth the trip. Little twist on fairly authentic mexican grub. Fresh and flavorable. Refreshing drinks as well. All for a great price. Great music and interesting decor. Well worth a small trip out of the way for this affordable treat.

Wow! This place is the real deal! So glad we had the chance to try out this place. The place is a total hole in the wall, dive, with great atmosphere. So chill! Love the decor inside. Heard from a friend, who's a local, that they started out as a food truck. Decided to go ahead and order one of every taco variety (except for the Quinoa one). Hands down we loved the Carne (beef) and Fish tacos the best. Pork was too salty and the chicken one too bland for my taste. Got a couple of Aguas Frescas -- so delicious. These are fruit infused water. The only sweetness comes from the fruit so no added sugar (I don't think). Very refreshing and healthy! I saw someone order the Elote (grilled corn rolled in cheese and chili powder) and decided to try one. So glad I was in an adventurous mood -- it was so delicious!! Must try the corn! Would totally be a regular if I lived in Nashville. And the price is right! Can't beat good value.

Cool (as in the atmosphere and not the temperature) taco joint on the East side of Nashville. Went for "Brunch" on a Saturday morning and really enjoyed everything. Pork taco = awesome, Chilaquiles = yummy and the corn was unique and tasty. I'm a new transplant to Nashville from SoCal and this place is as good as some of my favorite taco places back on the west coast.

Everything I dreamed of in this little east Nashville taco shack. Funky, fun decor and friendly staff! I tried three different tacos... All were great! The tortilla soup looked amazing! I can not wait to try their fried plantain! Agua fresca was good, but not phenomenal. Also... Where is the salsa bar? Will return for soup and plantains.... And hopefully five stars.

My wife and I have some very dear friends from Puerto Rico and every now and then they will treat is to some of the best dinners in their home. Black beans, plantains, chicken and pork both cooked and spiced to perfection. The flavors are magnificent. I haven't tasted anything close to the level of those authentic flavors until I came to Mas Tacos! Teresa and her crew have really stepped to the plate and knocked this one out of the park! From the moment you step in the door, you are whisked away to a small, tucked away restaurant on a remote island somewhere in the Caribbean, filled with culture and flavors that you won't soon forget! I would absolutely recommend anyone to make the trip out to East and visit Mas Tacos! It's way cheaper than flying to Puerto Rico, and every bit as tasty.

Some of the freshest, most unique Mexican food you will ever have the pleasure of eating. I highly recommend the fried avocado tacos and chicken tortilla soup which will warm your heart and soul. There is so much love put into the food at Mas Tacos, which is the most unassuming little hole in the wall restaurant. :) The only reason this joint gets 4 stars is because it's not open long enough during the day.

Chicken. Tortilla. Soup. While my cousin who lives in Nashville and I were waiting for a table at Pharmacy Burger, we stopped into Mas Tacos. The outside of the place is shady as gravy, but the staff is welcoming, plus there's all kinds of old game machines and a jukebox. There's a good deal of options on the chalkboard menu above the kitchen, and it was hard not to order a bit of everything, especially pre-Pharmacy Burger. I swear I'm not a Hobbit, I just couldn't turn down a "warm up" taco. Or two. And the soup. The soup has a lime and cilantro forward flavor, with queso fresco blended in and tortilla strips that retain a consistent texture while eating the soup. I'm very glad I don't have the gene where cilantro tastes like soap-there's a lot here. I also got a quinoas-sweet potato taco on a corn tortilla, which was a stellar, hearty, and healthy (at least that's how I'm justifying warm up tacos) combination. We got there about an hour before closing time, so a few things were nixed from the chalkboard, but the creative tacos and chicken tortilla soup were still available. Thank you, Cousin Tim and gracias a Más Tacos. You were the best first dinner I could ask for.

  • Heidi M.

Not impressed. Corn was severely burnt, couldn't eat it all, the avocado taco was very bland, the other one I'm not sure what it exactly was, (husband ordered) but to soggy and not much taste except heat. The iced coffee with horchata was my last hope, and it failed. Sad....I was looking for another good authentic place to go...sadly probably not this one.

  • Ann L.

Oh my goodness. These are literally the best tacos I've ever had! The chicken tortilla soup was divine! The perfect bite, the perfect spice. The fried plantains were absolutely delicious, and I'm not even that much a fan of plantains in general. I also had the cast iron chicken taco (a definite must). I can't remember the other taco got it, but it was delicious as well. The agua frescas are a must, too!

We went to Mas Tacos right after a trip to the DMV. We waited for tacos waaaay longer than we waited at the DMV!! The food was just OK after having to wait that long. The avocado tacos were good. The iced coffee I got was absolutely horrible and not drinkable!!! The staff was friendly. Overall not a good experience for us and if we ever go back, we'll make sure not to be hungry since the wait is forever!!

  • Ang E.

Mas Tacos has the most authentic Mexican food. In the Nashville area. The chicken tacos are the bomb as is the elot (corn). I would not recommend that you go at lunch time unless you have time to wait as the line is usually out the door. Also, keep in mind they only take cash. The best time to go is between 12:45 to 1:30 for faster service, or right when they open at 11am. The place is a little cluttered and looks dirty but I think the building is just very old and run down. Their health department score is good so the cooking area has to be clean right? Tacos are $3 each which seems a bit high but the quality of food makes it worth the price.

  • Julea T.

WONDERFUL food!!! I had the fried fish tacos, and my friend had the quinoa and sweet potato tacos. The beans and plantains are out of this world. We ate outside, and the only negative thing I have to say is that the flies out there were so bad, we could hardly stand it. Won't keep me from going back again the next time I'm in Nashville though, but I will eat inside instead of outside. :)

I've been here so many times I can't really count. Every time it has been incredible. These are some real tacos. Don't be expecting flour tortillas like Taco Mamacita. Mas Tacos is much tastier. Ingredients are really fresh and high quality. I'm personally not a huge fan of the fried avocado taco, but everything else is great. My personal favorites are the tortilla soup, the fish tacos, and pulled pork tacos. The cast iron chicken tacos and quinoa sweet potato tacos are great too. Try their homemade horchata and get there when they open or right before they close to avoid crazy lines.

I finally was invited to meet a friend for lunch here. I've been juicing a bunch, so my judgement may be skewed. Not. This place is awesome. I had the fish, pork and beef taco. Also had a bowl of the best chicken tortilla soup ever. The soup was not like anything I've ever had or made. The tacos had great flavor and texture. I here there are cheaper places in Nashville, but I'll go back. You'll not regret.

  • Ken J.

Funky smell inside. Seating is limited and mismatched. Horchata is mediocre. Chicken tortilla soup incredible. Thin and very spicy broth, good crunch. Elote had to much seasoning. Couldn't taste the corn at all. Quinoa and sweet potato taco wasn't good. Pulled pork taco had good flavor but was super dry. The star was the soup.

  • Emily R.

Great tacos! Glad they keep the menu small... Helps first-timers not get overwhelmed, and they really have perfected the few selections they serve each day. Fair price. I would definitely come again!

  • Brandon L.

To me....Mas Tacos is a not miss eatery that offers up uniquely crafted tacos and sides for the unique pallet. Im sure that you can get good tacos from a lot of gringos in a lot places but these blancos do it well. Be prepared for a line and little bit of a wait for your food when busy. The parking can be difficult but well worth it.

  • Justin B.

Mas Tacos is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. Their tacos are good (Particularly the fried avocado taco), but my favorites are actually the tamales, chicken tortilla soup, and chilaquiles. They are three things you should know if you're going for the first time: They are cash only, parking is scarce, and the menu changes daily.

  • Scott K.

Wow! You have to be kidding me that food this good comes out of this place. No way would I have tried this on my own. The food was amazing!!! Sweet potato and quinoa taco was great but likes the pork taco a bit more. Homemade guacamole and chips, grilled corn rolled in queso fresco = wow! Totally worth it.

Nom nom nom. I don't really know what to say except delicious. Who decides to fry whole avocado pieces and then turn it into a delicious taco? I don't know...but I think they just might be genius. I have tried every single one of their tacos (because we couldn't walk away without eating the whole menu) and they are all delicious. Good variety of flavors and awesome combinations of yumminess. Also, agua frescas are ridiculously refreshing. The watermelon is especially quench-satisfying but if you're up for a more adventurous one, the pineapple cilantro is also pretty good. The place is kinda tiny, run-down, and semi-sketchy looking. You might have to stand or wait for a table, but it's worth it. What more is there to say?

Love this place ~ great atmosphere takes you back to college ( those of us who left there many years ago ) i am a vegetarian and had the avocado and also the sweet potato ~ the avocado came in 1st but the sweet potato followed closely behind~ will definitely go back!

Came here based on yelp reviews. Awesome fish tacos and cast iron chicken tacos. Hole in the wall place in a interesting though somewhat sketchy part of town. Cash or checks only. The only negative, they don't serve beer.

5 stars. Best tacos east of the Mississippi. 2 years ago, I had the opportunity to stay in Honduras for a short while. Our Tia hosts would fire up finely ground corn tortillas on a wood burning iron oven. The process was painstakingly tedious. Not only are Mas's fillings fa nominal , their corn tortillas are nearly identical as the Honduran Tia's hand made batch that a rare few Americans would ever experience. This is a place to go out of the way for. So very good and memorable.

iced horchata with coffee? YES PLZ. cheap & delicious rotating menu (always vegetarian options), & friendliest staff in town. this place is legit & always my go-to when friends come to town. the inside is decked out in southwest decor: rugs, cacti, cows skull, maps ... it's an aesthetic dream. go for the food, stay for the atmosphere (& make sure you check their facebook for specials & hours - aside from fridays they close around 3!)

  • Lora L.

I've only been here once but can not wait to go back again. Everything I tried was outstanding! Tortilla Soup, Chorizo Taco & a side of Plantains, so good... I would recommend getting here right when they open for lunch because it gets crowded quick and it's not that large of a space. They do great with the take out though & it holds up in transit for sure. We got a bunch to go for 4-5 of us in the office one day and I did not hear one negative comment outta anyone. Only effusive gushing & how they would be going back and trying more... Heading back to Nashville soon and will not be waiting so long to go this time!

We eat at Mas Tacos every time we come to Nashville. Tastiest, most creative tacos we've ever eaten. It's small and it's not fancy, but that doesn't matter. Try it!

  • Natalie C.

I just went for the first time today and got a spicy beef taco (the one I wanted- pulled pork- was sold out) and because of all the reviews I also ordered the chicken tortilla soup. Both were fabulous. The taco is $3 but is pretty substantial- at least the beef one I ordered was. The only downside is parking and make sure you have cash or check! I didn't realize they only accept these two methods so I had to go back to my car and drive to an ATM.

Mas tacos has a great, trendy vibe. It's busy and bustling and certain tables are actually just tree stumps and the employees are slightly cooler than you for no actual reason. Not in a pretentious way, just a factual one. I panicked upon ordering... there were so many tempting choices. Plantains with sweet creme or black beans? Are there vegetarian tamales? No? Okay that helps. One taco? Four tacos? Mas tacos? Todos los tacos? Breakfast tacos or vegan tacos? I ended up with one of each, and had the luxury of mooching off a friend's black beans and plantains. The sweet potato and quinoa taco definitely outshone the breakfast taco, which I ordered with avocado instead of chorizo. It was much more flavorful and had an interesting, substantial texture. The tacos are double wrapped, which is definitely not necessary to support the contents of the taco, it's nice to have the option if you're into that. The plantains were super sweet, so I'm glad I didn't try them with sweet creme. They're also super fried, which I wasn't expecting for some reason. Overall, I'd be back for a sweet potato & quinoa taco with a solid helping of the scene on the side. You'll leave a little bit cooler, a lot fuller, and most likely unable to consume any mas tacos.

Seriously cannot get enough of this place. Amazing food. Obsessed with Sopa Tarasca soup, tacos are always great, everything tastes so fresh with the perfect amount of heat. I can't say enough good things. Cash only. Don't forget. I have. And it was still worth it to drive to a bank and come back. That good.

(From my previous review before they had the address available) RV's are great and all, and we all love the thrill of testing our intestinal fortitude eating out of the back of a truck. Here is where it gets interesting. THIS PLACE IS LEGIT!!!! I mean seriously amazing. With its brick and mortar location now on McFerrin in East Nashville you don't need to roam the land to get your taco fix any longer. They do everything well here, but here is the fix you have been looking for. Soup. Yes I said it, soup. That soul quenching bowl of delicious broth. Mas Tacos might be a great taco place, in fact it is, but where it really shines is in its Tortilla soup. The most pedestrian of soups other places is brought to its knees here. The spicy, savory sweetness of this soup absolutely blows my mind. Normally I order Tortilla soup at restaurants when I am bored and just want a standby. Not here, get ready for the mind blow of a lifetime. This soup...I get teary eyed just thinking about it...quite nearly changed my life. I didn't know you could elevate something that simple and yet they have done it with what appears to be remarkable ease. Go here. Order the Tortilla Soup and while you're at it get some tacos too. Oh, and they have Mexican Coke, so double winning!

Good restaurant with quick service and good food. Food is a little pricey for quality, but still a great choice for lunch. I highly recommend the corn!

Mas Tacos, Por Favor is hands down, the freshest and most reliably amazing tacos in Nashville. I waited and waited to write this review, waiting for a negative, waiting to give this place 4 stars. I was looking for something in the staff, something in the food, something in the establishment that would make it not as amazing as the 1st time, the 4th time, the 10th time.... But that has not happened. Every single time I eat at this joint it is as good, if not better than the last time. And when I use the word reliable, I don't mean boring, it's not boring, it's that you can count on the fact that the avocado taco that made you moan from yummy yumminess 3 weeks ago is gonna be just that yummy this week. I really cannot say enough about it! The soups, the elote(corn on the cob, dredged through caso blanco, spices and lime), the specials that are always inventive and a pleasure (and usually hot!) the agua frescas and of course the tacos..... Those tacos.... My husband and I dream about the spicy yogurt sauce and the kick of the iron skillet chicken, heck, every one of them! I don't eat pork, but he loves the pulled pork taco. If you have read other reviews, you know this is a small place, maybe 20 seats in the whole place. There is most always a line, but it does move quickly. There are no menues, what they are serving is written one the chalk board wall everyday. They are a cash only place for now so be prepared. It's a unique experience, but it's those tacos that will keep you coming back! Teresa is always so sweet and nice, as is the entire staff. They make you feel like you are welcome and appreciated and I love that! I just want to hug her for bringing her style to us, for supporting local produce and making Nashville just that much better by being a part of the local flavor. Thanks, Miss Teresa, and we will see you Saturday for the fish tacos! :):):)

  • Jenifer G.

This is a place where I felt like I tasted every one of the tacos just because I salivated over the ingredients. Creative. I actually ate the avocado and chicken, and sampled the pork and carne. All were quite good. I think I need to go back when I'm not as hungry so I can savor all the flavors instead of gobbling the taco. The vibe was laid back and rustic. I thought the cuban beans and plantains were out of this world with the mix of textures, but it hurt me to pay $5. It was worth a one-time taste and the plantains were absolutely ripe and cooked perfectly.

  • Chrissy I.

So so good! I have never had a bad experience. Everything is delish, though I prefer the avocado and fish taco to the sweet potato/quinoa one. The corn is awesome but I suggest asking for light cheese - they really coat it. The black bean soup is so yummy and the fresh juices alone are worth the trip!

fried avocado tacos- beyond delicious mexican street corn-close to that beyond delicious point mexican coke- nuff said fried plantains- mmmmm killer guac- very delicious homemade chips-yummmm I could go on. Really, just go there. Enjoy it! They are not open for dinner any night but Fridays, but they are a great lunch spot. You WILL smell like food when you leave (in a very strong fashion), but it's worth every greasy whiff. Super eclectic atmosphere complete with a patio and they are also family friendly.

Dined at this little East Nashville establishment today for lunch. It was the lunch rush and was very crowded. The line moved rather quickly. The food was fantastic. Very flavorful, and fresh. I tried a little of everything. Ordered a pork tamale with a green chile sauce, pork pulled taco, and a fried avocado taco. $3 may seem a little steep for a taco, but trust me its worth it. Quality ingredients and its very filling. My bf tried the cast iron chicken taco, carne molido beef taco, and chicken tortilla soup. The soup looked a little brothy, but the flavor was outstanding. We will definitely miss this place when we go back home to Chicago.

To start, I no lie, tried to eat here at least 9 times. After the 9th, I was like, that's it, I give up I'm just not meant to eat here. I mean I drove over only to find it closed, or I'd check online and they wouldn't be open on that random day, I even went in sans cash (big mistake) However, I am glad I gave this one more (final this time) shot. Two words: Tortilla Soup. This is hands down the best tortilla soup I have ever had, sorry mom, this wins. It has yummy fresh veggies and whatever kind of corn is in there, is amazing. The soup is a big bowl and they use all mix and match bowls, which I find charming. I think it's about $5 for the bowl, which is plenty. I usually get a bowl of soup, 1 taco (I love the pork, REALLY good) and the jalepeno mint fresca (I think that is it) and it's about $9. Honestly, you could really just get the soup and the drink but I can't resist the taco (which are pretty large and about $2). Tips to eat here: 1. Check their facebook page. No joke, as I said above, they have weird days/hours they are open. Don't get angry like I did and try to not eat here, you'll be sorry you did. 2. Bring cash. The one time I actually made it in, maybe the 8th time or so, I was like, wow this is it I"m actually eating here, I knew what I wanted and BAM, I didn't have cash. Yeah, i was pissed. 3. Go early if you are eating at their restaurant. I think they open at 11 and around 12, there will already be a line out the door. It's not huge inside, hence why it fills up fast. You should definitely not miss this place. It looks like a dive on the outside, which means you know it will be good!

Awesome mobile taco truck!! Fresh ingredients... always at a fun location. Too bad I'm not in Nashville anymore. :(

Went here after wait at Pharmacy was too long and glad I did. Hole in the wall family-owned atmosphere. Order at the counter and get your food when called. Pulled pork and fried tilapia tacos were great as was the tortilla soup and fried plantains. Get a flavored agua fresca to complete a great lunch

YUM! YUM! YUM!! A few different city guides for Nashville directed me to this spot. It was AWESOME. The tacos were perfect. The fresca was refreshing. There was the right amount of shade in the yard. Next time I'm in Nashville, I'll be returning!

Amazing! The fish and pulled pork tacos are so great! Everything is really fresh and always the right temperature. Now that I know where this is, it's going to be a problem!

I told a friend I was going to Nashville for the weekend and she gave me one and only one recommendation: Mas Tacos Por Favor. I was not disappointed. The small taco restaurant is very hip and laid back. There is a small outdoor seating area and a large bottle of hot sauce on each table. The kitchen is open and you can see that the food is being prepared fresh. A chalkboard advertises the available tacos. On the day I went, there were 5 tacos available: sweet potato, beef, pork, egg, and tilapia. I got two tilapia tacos and roasted corn for $9 and it was plenty of food. The tilapia tacos featured a breaded fried fish stick of tilapia covered in a red cabbage slaw and a spicy creamy sauce. Nontraditional and extremely tasty. The elote (grilled corn with queso fresco and chili) is one of my favorite street foods and Mas Tacos did it really well by grilling it to order. You can wash it all down with Mexican coke, agua fresca ( I recommend the pineapple - corriander) and horchata. Mas Tacos was the best meal that I had in Nashville. Not to be missed.

I maybe should have looked at Yelp before I entered Mas Tacos. I literally live down the street from Mas Tacos and it was rated #2 in the Nashville Scene food truck selection, so lets say... I was excited! They don't except cards... Silly. The nearest ATM is 3 blocks away (my home is closer) They don't have any diet drink options... so water was my only choice. If you have a freestanding establishment you shouldn't act like a food truck. And if you want to keep cash to your only currency.. then make it super obvious from the door. BTW Mas Tacos.. Cards can now be run via your IPhone... Its silly to run your business on a currency that is slowly being weeded out I respect your choices Mas Tacos but really if you run a freestanding business you should open yourselves up more, don't drive people away from your business... cause your tacos ARE AMAZING... your business just sucks.

Quaint. Charming. Friendly. Delicious. Maduros. You said 5 words or less, right? No? Good... I have plenty more to say. I've tried the chicken taco, the spicy carne taco, the sweet potato/quinoa, and the fish taco, and I still can't pick my favorite! Lucky for me, they're so inexpensive that I don't have to! I just hit up their brick & mortar spot (thanks to Scout Mob, I now know they HAVE a store front!) and got to try their maduros (sweet plantains) for the first time. They combine them with a fresh little plate of black beans, and let me tell you, that savory/sweet combo is oh so good you'll be going back for more. Seriously. So. Dang. Good! Wash it all down with a Mexican Coke or some refreshing Agua Fresca Horchata, and you've got yourself a full, happy belly. I know I did! I look forward to my next visit to the Mas Tacos store front, where I know I'll be greeted again by the exciting hustle bustle of good business, and a friendly smile behind the counter that showed absolutely no signs of panic at the busy shop. Clearly she's used to this - afterall, how could anyone not love this local business??

It's slightly embarrassing to admit that after living in Nashville for several years, I had not tried Mas Tacos. Now that I have, it's hard to imagine life before. Disclaimer: I'm a native of Southern Arizona and was raised on some serious Mexican cuisine. Do yourself a favor and browse right by those reviews of Mas Tacos that question it's "authenticity" (example: guy from Austin). Mas Tacos is not trying to be a taco truck off of Nolensville. They are elevating something that already exists, not imitating it. OK, now that's out of the way... let's talk about the Tortilla Soup. As far as I'm concerned, all soups should bow in the presence of the Tortilla Soup from Mas Tacos. It's simply amazing. What comes out as a bowl of very pedestrian looking broth, packs more wonderful flavor per spoonful than anything that's ever been in my mouth. On top of that, throw in some beautiful, fresh and lovingly cared for toppings (roasted corn, avocado, cilantro and fried tortilla strips) and you have a winner. Mas Tacos is an example of what we need more of, local and inspired restaurants that concentrate on doing "their thing" really well. Much respect to them for being true to their craft. Now, let's just hope that the impending fame (article in Bon Appetit-Feb 2012) does not spoil such a great thing.

People line up for the fantastic tacos at this well-loved food-truck-turned-storefront in East Nashville with good reason, but the tortilla soup is so incredible I had to write about it. What makes this soup soooooo good? Every ingredient in it and the combination thereof. The secret is that Mas Taco starts with a divine homemade broth so rich in flavour it's exciting enough on its own; the lime is wonderfully prevalent, and it's surprisingly spicy but not so much that it overpowers the other amazing flavours at play. Added to this mouth-watering concoction are hearty portions of stewed chicken, charred corn, Mexican cheese, crunchy housemade tortilla strips, fresh cilantro, cherry tomatoes, and ripe green avocado. The result is a truly intoxicating mixture of flavours and textures. All for just five bucks.

Mas Tacos is a standout eatery without pretense. It is a small, and humble storefront but if you get there for lunch early, it should be line-free. (A sunny Friday at noon it is one busy place.) Evenly populated by regulars, hipsters, foodies, and locals... It is all about the food, not the accoutrement. Rolls of paper towels and Mexican hot sauce are your setups. The food is prepared fresh to order, and it is crisp, and tangy non traditional Mexican food, along with favorites such as elote, and tortilla soup. The fish tacos are particularly good, and the agua frescas and horchatta are not to be missed. It is a cash business and know what you want when you get to the counter. If you like to really heat up your lunch, I like the "Shake" of habanero powder at the table in front. It will make your tacos pretty interesting. I have lived in East Nashville for 20 years, and places like this that keep cropping up make me glad I did. Mas Tacos Is a weekly visit for me, more if I can talk myself into it. I love Mas Tacos and the fine folks that obviously love what they are doing.

I popped into Mac Tacos with a friend from the neighborhood. I had two pulled pork tacos and the cafe con leche. What can I say? The tacos were amazing--with just the right amount of pork to cilantro to pico ratio. Also, a very gluten-safe eating environment for celiacs. I told the guy at the counter that I was celiac, and he told me that only one of their dishes (the fried avocado taco) contained gluten, and that they'd take care, but that I should be fine. And I survived! Thanks, Mas Tacos. You guys are great.

My wife and I are serious foodies and delight in finding out-of-the-way places that astound the culinary palate! Teresa and her team serve the best! The hardest part is always deciding what to eat. The tacos are the best in town. The tortilla soup is legendary and the best we have ever had!!! The elote (roasted corn on the cob) requires a "wow" after every bite. Do yourself a favor and go!

I really enjoy living in E Nasty and having this establishment near me. I've worked all through MX and Central America and they have yummy Oaxacan-esque style tacos. The horchata was a bit off but the ingredients are fresh. My husband and shared all 4 tacos and they are all great. I think what really make the tacos besides the filling are the tortillas and they are so fresh. Man oh man do I miss being able to go to a tortillaria and getting a fresh hot tortillas for lunch, or the fab ladies making the fresh tortillas by hand in Belize. The elote... mmmm ricas. I love elotes and this one was legit. So go check them out if you have yet, I can't wait to go back and try other goodies on their menu. Buen Provecho! Oh yeah, make sure to bring CASH as it's cash or check only.

I've never been so motivated to give an amazing review. We were confused by the order, so on top of our tacos the owner sent out tortilla soup and corn- on the house. Everything was delicious beyond compare! DEFINITELY come here!

This was an awesome taco place. Avocado taco yummy. Watermelon drink not as sweet as I like but very fresh. The corn was grilled perfect and they used so much cheese. Great prices. Line out the door and lobby area was not air conditioned but hands down worth it.

One of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. I just wish they were open for dinner every night (they are only open for dinner on Fridays, and for those of us who work 9-5, it's not really possible to get over there for lunch during the week). The pulled pork tacos, the cast-iron chicken tacos, the elote (corn with lime, queso fresco, and spices), the cuban-style black beans with plantains, the tortilla soup, the fried fish taco are all delicious. I seriously get all of this every single time I go (if they haven't sold out). Oh, and their pineapple cilantro aqua fresca is wonderful, too. Go eat here! For those of us who work M-F, you can go Friday night or Saturday morning/lunchtime. Cash only!!! I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here, but it is just a bummer when you forget to bring cash, so plan ahead.

I've heard a lot of hype about this spot since I moved to Nashville. I finally tried it and enjoyed what I had but wasn't blown away. I suppose I have been spoiled by taquerias since living in southern CA. My pulled pork taco was delicious with a medium spice level and good toppings. The cast-iron chicken taco was good. Both tacos were slightly above average size wise. The horchata was sweet but kind of lacking character. The outside seating was covered in flies the time I ate there which is a tough problem to solve and when you're eating mexican food outside you come to expect issues of this sort, still more frequent bussing of the outside seating would help. Anyways, I'll go back.

What's there to like? I've been dumb enough to eat at this place twice, and both times I never understood the big deal. For one, you have to be a drunk hipster hobbling out of the 5spot to even consider eating one of these monstrosities. And secondly, there ARE better Taco trucks in Nashville, off of Nolensville road, and they don't speak English. When I go to a taco truck and ask for some Mulitas, and you are telling me to eat Fried Avocado (Which is only 1/10th as good as the Fried Avocado you get in Austin) and you don't know what the hell Milanesa is, Houston, we have a problem. The only thing good about this place is that they sell Quinoa, but of course, they overcook it. This place would screw up a cup of coffee. I strongly suspect this place has great reviews because most of the scene kid clientele have not ventured down to Woodbine or Antioch and tasted a real taco, nor do they know the pure joy of Austin style tacos (Torchys, ChiLantro, etc.) which this place is trying to ape (And rather badly). My advice is- if you are not too drunk or stoned from your night at Red Door might as well drive down Murfreesboro pike and eat some Sopes from a real taco truck.

To give Mas Tacos anything less than a 5 star review would be an injustice. These are artisinal tacos, not your traditional mexican food. With great eats like the fried Talapia (my personal favorite), and more unusual tacos such as the pull pork and the fried avocado, there is no reason not to try everything on the menu. I have gone to Mas Tacos no less than 20 times, and each and everytime I have been impressed with the quality. Don't let their East Nashville location deter you from venturing out there, the tacos are worth both the drive and the slightly sketchy surroundings. Mas Tacos is the sort of place that you take the tacos as they come, don't go and bastardize what is an amazing culinary creation because you don't like onions or some such nonsense. If you're a picky eater go to McDonalds, Mas Tacos isn't interested in you. O, also its BYOB.

Overall: Deliciously fresh & flavorful tacos. Food: Each taco has a double tortilla and is PACKED! A friend told me to order 3, I definitely only made it through 2. The fried avocado is great, light and crispy (not greasy) outside and creamy wonderful inside. The pulled pork, i believe has "spicy" in the title, but is not overly hot at all. It's very flavorful without being dry. Atmosphere: It's a little hole in the wall kind of place with the word "deli" painted on the side of the building. Nothing special, but hey, it works for a quick lunch (and i usually get take out anyway) Cost: About $3 per taco (plus tax)

Stopped by for lunch with a free taco discount from Scoutmob. Had no idea it was just around the corner from Holland House! Walked into the building and found ourselves in a small, warm dining room that was very inviting. Got to the window quickly and ordered two tacos - the spicy carne and the quinoa and sweet potato. We wanted to stick around and enjoy our food there, but it was tough to find a spot for three people to eat comfortably - but next time! By the time we left, the lunch line was to the door. I wouldn't let a long line deter you, though, as it did not take long to get our food. Two colleagues and I dove into our tacos back at the office and received several questions about where we had gotten our food. It was delicious - the quinoa and sweet potato was my favorite as the spicy carne's meat was a bit under-seasoned. But, for $3 per taco, you get a lot of food. I was pleased and look forward to returning and trying out another one of their delicious offerings - including the corn on the cob I've heard so much about.

Not my cup of tea, there I said it. While Mas Tacos claims to be the best thing in Nashville since country music, my experience didn't quite meet that expectation. I loved the small room, the old jukebox, the Mexican pinball machine, and the chalkboard walls with the menu written on it. I just didn't care for the food. $3 dollars certainly gets you a big taco, and two were enough to fill me up. I ordered the pulled pork and the breakfast taco with scrambled eggs and chorizo. I like tacos to really pack a punch and I just didn't get that at all here. The pulled pork, while plentiful, tasted a bit bland. Maybe some smoke or a bit of extra seasoning would've helped. I thought the breakfast taco fared much better, although, I wish they would add a bit more chorizo. The scrambled eggs were creamy and really moist, a welcome change from the usual dried out powder variety. Maybe the addition of some house made sauce would do the trick, the Valentina sauce on the table doesn't cut it. I don't think it's anything I would seek out again, but I would try it again at a festival. Let's face it, the best Mexican is still on the south side of town.

Let's get this straight - I am a huge fan of the food at Mas Tacos. I have never ever been disappointed with it, and have opened my big mouth all over town to tell everyone I know how great it is. The tortilla soup is amazing, as many here have said before me, as is the pulled pork taco and the fish taco. The corn can only be described as divine, as in descending to us from heaven. I love the decor, and the "authentic" Mexican taco dive exterior, the mismatched furniture inside (although some of it is monumentally uncomfortable), and generally everything else about it. I can't wait until the temperatures cool down from 7th layer of Hell to about 2nd layer of Hell so I can eat outside on the patio. However, and I have agonized about telling the truth in my review over the past few days because I do love this place so much, I think if you own a business, you probably shouldn't chastise your customers, who are the whole and only reason for your success, and you probably shouldn't make them feel embarrassed to go back when they have done nothing wrong. I've probably eaten at Mas Tacos at least ten times in the past month or so, so much so that several people there remember my name, but the last time I went (with a friend whom I had been nagging constantly to go), it was an incredibly busy lunchtime and there was nowhere to stand inside, but we did find a table (of sorts) in the back. We got the first round of the food and I had taken a few bites and was just thinking that it was pretty noisy and I probably needed to go up and check if the rest was ready because maybe we hadn't heard it over all the din going on, when one of the people behind the counter came into the back room with our soup and scolded us for not picking it up sooner. I honestly was so shocked at her tone and her confession that she was probably going to regret saying it that I just mumbled an apology like a naughty schoolchild trying to avoid punishment. The other members of my party were really shocked as well. I realize Mas Tacos has had a lot of excellent press lately, including articles in the New York Times and Britain's Guardian, but I really think it still pays, in the light of all that success, to remember that we here in Nashville are the ones responsible for all that success. I am always so proud when a local restaurant gains so much recognition and love to actively cheerlead that success. The food at Mas Tacos will never leave a sour taste in your mouth - I can virtually promise you that, but how we were treated on our last visit certainly will. I'm still giving them four stars, and I will go back and hope for better next time. Perhaps it was just a bad day.

Being from SoCal, this is definitely not your typical taco shop. It's so much more! This blows any mexican joint in Nashville completely out of the water. Cash only? So what? I scrounged through the seats and crevices of my car finding enough change to get an avocado taco and a coke one day, I was not about to waste any time going to my bank down the street. Like I said it's not typical, it's fused, creative, and fun, but authentic. There are always interesting things on the menu and it's all good. ALL OF IT!

Came here for brunch on Saturday and had two delicious breakfast tacos with egg, avocado, cabbage, cilantro, pico de gallo and some sort of sauce. Added the mexican hot chocolate was a little too spicy for my liking but still delicious. My only complaint is this: they had a menu written on the wall. Listed was shredded pork taco (along with a fish, quinoa and egg variety). When my husband ordered one, they said they were out. We also heard the guy behind us order one as well. Then, one of the worker's friends walked in and the guy at the counter loudly told him he could order whatever he wanted, on the house. We all overheard as he ordered one of every taco (including pork). He was not turned down, however. 5 minutes later they all of a sudden they had it? We felt very offended and slighted by this treatment. We spent $25 for 3 of us to eat breakfast. It was highly disappointing to not be able to eat what we wanted for absolutely no reason. What's up with that Mas Tacos? I think you owe my hubby a taco or two.

This review has been a long time coming, but after giving them my business regularly for over a year, I think I can make an accurate case for Mas Tacos. There are a handful of places to get tacos in town, but for overall value, quality of food, and consistency, Mas Tacos takes the...taco. Their fish taco is the best in town, hands down. Make sure to get the little container of creme sauce on the side. It's the perfect compliment, and on occasion they'll forget to add this little detail, so keep your eyes open. The other strong contender for best taco in the house is the fried avocado. The combination of crispy breading and satisfyingly soft inside of the avocado is heavenly, and the other toppings on both are perfect. You really get the sense that the recipes were honed until they were just right. That attention to detail and the consistency of the quality of the ingredients keep me coming back, week after week. I think the quinoa-sweet potato is so-so, but I'm not a vegetarian, so your mileage may vary. Sadly the beef taco has always been on the greasy side in my experience, so I usually avoid it. The pulled chicken taco is my go-to when the avocado and fish tacos are unavailable, and the pulled pork taco is pretty decent, too. Saturday breakfast tacos always hit the spot, and the variation of flavors they offer adds value and gives you a reason to go more than once a week. The soups, sides, and drinks all deserve recognition as well. The chicken tortilla soup is probably the best in town. I dare you to find better. However, if you want to take your soup game to the next level, order the pozole. It is absolutely killer, and always delivers the goods. The sopa tarasca is a slightly thicker black bean soup, and while it's a tasty way to mix things up, there isn't nearly as much in the soup to keep it interesting, as opposed to the tortilla soup and pozole, which come jam-packed with chicken and veggies. These almost always sell out well before closing, so don't wait until an hour before close to order yours. The elote' is another delicious side that you just can't get anywhere else in town, balancing the flavors of lime juice, sweet corn, and savory cheese in a way that is so good it should be illegal. The plantains with cream are perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth without going overboard, though I have yet to try them cuban style. The agua-frescas always hit the spot, and are the real stars of the beverage show, but if you prefer Mexican Coke or Jarritos sodas, get yours from the Kroger a few blocks away and save yourself a dollar per drink. The iced coffee with horchata is also a solid choice, and is great with the breakfast tacos. Of course, Mas Tacos is BYOB, and this is a wonderful thing since they don't sell alcohol. I hate to say this, but my only big complaint (and the reason I knocked a star off) is the service. While Celia at the counter is always cheerful and friendly, I could do without the glares and bored tone from the rest of the staff (save the owner). Maybe I just like to feel like a regular, but I never get that vibe here, which is a bit of a let-down considering how often I give them my money. On the other hand, as hot as the dining room gets in the summer, I'm sure the kitchen is much hotter, and I can see that affecting morale among the staff. They recently knocked out part of a wall to make room for more seating, but unfortunately it's also where the door to the kitchen is, so it feels like you're always in someone's way, be it customer or employee. I didn't think that was possible, considering what little room they had for customers in line already, but if it's even moderately busy the line is a mess anyway. The layout of walking in the front door and right into the line (effectively cutting the dining room in half) always puts you in someone's way, and it just feels awkward and claustrophobic. A bigger location would be a very welcome change. And as much as we all love the jukebox and pinball machine (neither of which function), those stylistic touches could be removed to make room for another table or two and I wouldn't complain. There's some outdoor seating, but the flies are usually so abundant that I don't bother with that option anymore. Some folks don't like that Mas Tacos is CASH ONLY, but that's not usually a problem for me. Parking can be a headache, but I gave up trying to use their lot months ago and stick to street parking. I don't understand the complaints about their hours either. The hours are posted on the door, so it's not like they're hiding them from you. The hours might be unconventional compared to other places, but it's certainly not worth complaining about. Overall, they're my favorite taco place in Nashville. The menu is so varied, and the flavor is so consistent, that I could literally eat here every day. The pricing is also just right, and you can end up having a real feast on the cheap.

Great place, love almost every item on the menu, but the Spicy Carne Molida would be a heck of a lot better with Barbacoa or any beef that wasn't ground. Definitely try the Jamaica!

The Good: * The chicken taco is pretty tasty. * Limited menu makes for less confusing order. * Nice vibe. * Relatively friendly service. * Chicken tortilla soup rocks. The Bad: * I could be wrong but don't think their meats are organic, but everything else seems to be? * I wouldn't say they are expensive but in order for me to get full, I'm looking at $13 with a drink. * The avocado taco sounded good in theory, but it tasted very bad to me. * I would love to see things like black olives, sour cream, cheese, spice, etc on their tacos. * They don't accept credit cards, so every time I go there I have to end up running over to Kroger to buy something, get cash back, and then grab some taco grub. * On a youtube video they claim to have gluten free menu items yet they seemed ultra confused when I requested what items were gluten free. They also didn't seem to have a separate preparation table for gluten free meals. Good thing I'm no longer doing the gluten free thing...thought it may help with stomach issues. All in all, their food is good, I'm just not a fan of some of the menu items. I definitely recommend the chicken tortilla soup.

Mas Tacos = Mas Overeating. On the advice of a business owner in Nashville I decided to give Mas Tacos a shot, since the last time I visited Nashville I grabbed tacos at two other places - Taqueria San Luis and El Mirador. The storefront is in a section of East Nashville which a lot of people have charitably referred to as an "up and coming area." It is about a block or so north of McFerrin and Cleveland, where possibly the most skint convenience store/gas station in all of America is located. In my traveling experience, though, the good stuff is found off the beaten path and definitely not in a suburban strip mall. The menu had four taco options on my visit - cast-iron chicken, pulled pork, fried avocado and quinoa. I was extremely hungry and ordered the first three options and horchata. (I draw the line at quinoa). I'll say it right away - the tacos are good but too expensive (minus one star). I've got a taco place in Buffalo that approaches tacos the exact same way as Mas Tacos, quality and all, and they charge $2.25. Cost of doing business is infinitely higher in New York state compared to Tennessee. I'm not one to gripe about food cost very often - in fact I don't think I've complained about food cost at all on Yelp until now. But really, Mas Tacos, people are driving to a scabby part of town then are being overcharged for what you serve - it has to be said. The street food tradition dictates startlingly cheap but super fresh eats - it's the whole point. That aside - no complaints at all about the food! Wonderful combinations of flavors with garnish that enhances the flavor of the protein like a good marriage should. My favorite thing about street tacos (the more traditional kind that you'd find at San Luis, for example) is the same thing that I love about great traditional Italian food - the best stuff is a combination of only a handful of simple ingredients that yields something better as the sum of the parts. Mas Tacos still passes this important test but does it by rethinking this "marriage," so to speak, by using a modern approach to come to the same conclusion. Yes the garnish on the tacos is fussy (dill yogurt anyone?) but I'd have been in trouble if I had any more room for tacos, because I would have damn well used it! My favorite of the group was the cast-iron chicken - what the hell did you put in that, besides way too much love per pound? Haha. Second place, very close, had to go to the fried avocado, which I would have NEVER tried without your insistence, Nashville Yelpers. Why do people lazily make black bean tacos as a vegetarian option when you can make an almost fish taco for your friends? I mean this, of course, in terms of appearance and application. It was the best non-meat taco I've ever had and I wish more places would consider doing the same thing. Drinks ($2) are flat out awesome. The horchata was amazing! Nobody I personally hang out with on a regular basis has tried horchata because it's just not around. My way of describing it is thus - a spiced (cinnamon/vanilla) milk drink that isn't exactly made out of the milk you used to pour over your cereal. Most USA Americans would probably find it reminiscent of a holiday drink. I don't know how Mas Tacos makes theirs, but it's usually made with rice or almond - at Mas they list the ingredients and it stated both rice and almond was in it. It made me wonder how they make it - for greedy reasons, so I could just do it at home and share with my brother. I couldn't leave without trying an agua fresca - pineapple/cilantro/lime seemed too good for me to pass up, and I am happy that I didn't. The drink was my last "taste" of Nashville before going through the lonely ritual of heading to the airport to fly again. Besides the people I associate cities with food - the agua fresca was like a laid back "hey man, don't be afraid to come see us again" with a southern drawl. And I won't be. See you again soon!

one word.... Elote'! regardless what I order, it usually includes this yummy corn-on-the-cob treat. They are semi-reasonably priced($3 tacos) and sell several versions of refrescos and Mexican coke. The menu changes as they run out of things so get there early if you are picky. I usually don't mind if they are out of something I like as if forces me to try something new and have not regretted it yet.

I really love this place. The tacos are great. The tortilla soup is to die for. And the corn is delish. I love coming here for lunch. I would recommend it to anyone!

This is the mirror opposite of the "other" local taco place in town. The place is a dive, there is no bar, the recipies and ingredients I find to be creative, but rather bland. however they get one thing very very right... they grill the tortilla!! I don't even like corn tortillas but when you grill them they are phenomenal. The drinks (soft drinks, teas etc...) are awesome! The place is very very cool with an antique juke box and pinball machine. you might have to stand up to eat but that's ok, it's a taco! Also there's a sign outside that said "BJ parking" which is amazing in its own right. Worth the trip if you're a taco fan like myself. Not the best I've ever had because they just don't seem to have a lot of zip to them, but a good experience and I will go back at some point. I wish the chef at the other place could get with the cooks here.

Well there has a been a lot of hype about this place, understandable as the "up and coming" East Nashville area is seriously lacking good restaurants even with the many that have come up lately. It is nice to see this little taco place get so much hype, I love fresh, home made food. Who doesnt? But, I have to agree with Erin M. in Nashville on this one. I was impressed with the decor, simple and traditional very organic feeling vibe and laid back like a visit to your Aunt's house. The limited menu impressed me, along with the extensive ingredients in each taco, it wasnt the crappy unseasoned ground beef you find some places in the South, but the flavor didnt grab me either. At all. Maybe I am picky, I grew up in Southern California and have eaten very traditional Mexican/ Hispanic food for all my years, I also cook my own traditional foods. These tacos seemed lacking, a lot of fancy talk for a little bit of flavor. I have enjoyed tacos from a taco truck in the streets of LA more than these and for a lot less money. The soup, Sopa Tarasca was a simple puree that tasted more like a sauce for something else than a soup, it was so spicy there wasnt any flavor and I left disappointed. I was really, really hoping to LOVE this place and have a place like back home to enjoy in my neighborhood, but I hate to say I wasnt impressed. I have had better tacos, ( and tortas, sopas, enchiladas, cockteles and burritos for that matter) on Nolensville and Im not too snobby to go there instead. I will definitely give this place another try, simply because it isnt fair that I did not try all of the tacos but I will be driving to Nolensville instead when I am craving a really good tasting taco.

I hesitate to write this review, because the more people who know about this place, the last chance I have of getting a taco when I want it (which is always). But...I must do what is right. This place is awesome! Pretty much everything I've eaten there is great. My favorites vary, but the sopa tarasca is at the moment, the best thing going. It's a spicy(ish) bean soup, with some queso fresco crumbled on top, some other kind of queso, and some salty yummy crunchies. I even like to take the soup, and smear it on the tacos. I advise everyone to do the same. The pork taco is also my favorite, the fish taco is amazing. And now they're open for brunch!! If you can get there early enough, you might have a shot at the delicious tamales, but they go fast!! Good luck finding the place, it's where McFerrin and Eastland (Cleveland) cross. The first time I went looking for it, I had to turn around, go home, find the address again, and go back! Hope you don't have the same trouble. And yes, I officially dream about these tacos.... Ca$h only. I think they take checks too.

I'm sure you can get more authentic tacos all over the city, country, and world, but these are really tasty. I live around the corner, so i've tried basically everything they offer with any regularity. If the tacos were $2.50 each instead of $3 each, I'd be happier, but I'm pretty dang happy as it is. Best things on the menu: * Chicken Tortilla Soup (best soup I've ever had, bar none) * Jamaica and other agua frescas * Fish tacos * Fried Avocado tacos (when they have them, only if fish is out) * Sweet Potato Quinoa tacos * Elote * Plantains, with beans or cream Good, but have had or can imagine better: * pork, beef tacos * breakfast tacos * black bean soup * Guacamole * tamales Meh: * Chicken tacos (pretty bland compared to the others) My first few visits, this place was life-changing. But after visiting 20+ times, I'm getting a little bored with a lot of it. I wish there were specials more often. That said, I very seriously doubt you'll be disappointed with a visit - I'm just not sure it's quite worth the national press.

Awesome tacos. Clearly the chefs know flavor. I'm always encouraged when I walk into a place with a small menu. Odds are good food awaits....Yes, it's a little old but not dirty, just odd bits and pieces of furniture/tables/chairs. Totally casual and excellent food. You'll not be disappointed.

I think I might fall to pieces if I stopped eating Mas Tacos once a week like I do. Seriously delicious and at only $3 a pop, you can't go wrong! Try the agua frescas, like cilantro lime or watermelon, to wash down your avacado, talapia, or cast iron chicken taco. Seating is limited and the line can move slowly, but its more than worth it!

Mas tacos is the best taco stand in Nashville. The food is outstanding, everything is fresh and prepared to order. I find myself constantly craving these authentic tacos and their fresh squeezed fresca. I had to give it only 4 stars though because it is difficult to find for one, there's no signage and their hours are variable. The only way to really find out what is going on is to check their twitter page. Once you find the place though, you won't look for another taco in Nashville. (and bring cash, no plastic)

It's refreshing to have a tried and true taco answer to the question we often have which is what are we going to eat. I have tried everything at least once on the menu and I stick with a rotation system with most of my orders becaus everything I have had there is heavenly. This place is low cost enough and I'm betting that once their food hits your taste buds, you willthink you should have spent more. I still make the trek over to Nolensville Rd. on occasion, but Mas Tacos is defnintely my numero uno taco place for a long time to come.

I really enjoyed Mas Tacos. Their permanent location (i.e., the brick and mortar version) is a hole in the wall that you might actually miss if you didn't know what you were looking for. Inside, the space is rustic, with found-art-style chairs and tables, low lighting, and rough-hewn wood plank walls. It reminds you of a small Mexican cantina you might see in the movies. The order window gives one a view into the small kitchen, where three or four people work to fill orders. P.S. CASH ONLY. And before you complain, appreciate that it's worth it if you think about it. I mean seriously: if it helps locally owned establishments stay in business and saves them all that overhead the credit card companies and banks want to charge them just for the privilege of using those little card swiper dealies, so be it. The food is awesome, and you should be happy to stroll over to an ATM once in a while to partake of this fine fare. Now that THAT's said... The menu is scrawled on chalkboard walls and changes daily. When we got there in the evening, some things had already been X-ed out. I love that about a place. Says to me: Come Early. And also: We Buy In Limited Quantities. That's cool. The night we went (and from the look of things, the menu rotates from day to day, revisiting old faves and trying out new items), my husband and I both got the same thing: a fried avocado taco, a pulled pork taco, some of the corn on the cob, and a Mexican coke apiece. A lot of food, actually, and I could probably do with just the corn and a taco next time, or just two tacos. But if you're really hungry, get it all. The food quality is great. The fried avocado taco was tasty, but the real star with the lime yogurt sauce on the taco. The pulled pork taco had great flavor, but I thought it needed more salt (or maybe more of the sauce that was on it). Husband, however, thought I was nuts and that the pulled pork taco was excellent and needed no salt. To each his or her own, I guess, or maybe he got more sauce than me. The real star, and the real indulgence if you ask me, was the grilled corn on the cob, topped with lots of butter, cheese dust and spices. It was awesome. I could have eaten two.

My wife and I love stopping by this place for a nice Mexican meal with a twist. It's definitely not a normal take on this line of ethnic food but its slant on things is great in my book. On our latest excursion, we stopped by on a saturday around 2 pm. My wife decided to get some fish tacos, which can rival any fish tacos in Nashville. I, of course got the pickled cactus and chorizo taco, which turned out to be a golden choice. The taco was full of flavor and all the ingredients seemed to complement each other very well. We washed our belly fare down with some good ol' fresca/ horchata. It's hard for me to pass up horchata whenever I've got the chance and I know it'll be good. My wife got the intriguing pineapple and cilantro fresca. Her fresca need was more than met so this fam would be leaving with a big smile on their face. At 2pm, seating was really easy to find but I know at times that it can get kinda crowded. Some recently increased seating should help alleviate some of the crowdedness . No doubt check this place out!

It was impossible to find, for a non Nashvillian. Once we located it we were lucky to miss the ordering rush by 2 minutes (this was around 6:30 on a Wednesday). The space was cozy and spare. I liked the simple, limited menu. Almost always a sign of freshness. I had the quinoa and chicken tacos. The presence of any real flavor was lacking, but I put so much Valentina on them that it didn't matter. I think both could've used a heftier salsa instead of the barely-existent salsa verde that I could hardly locate with my eyes or my mouth. There was Tons of chicken on the taco, so I have to give them credit for that. I walked out of there about to pass out from being so full but not blown away by the food in any way. The amazing tortillas from La Hacienda were present and carried the entire meal. Without them the whole thing would've been bland city. The corn was great. Grill/burnt flavor on anything makes me extremely happy. As an unsupervised pre-teen I used to char Goldfish crackers with the flame of a candle or lighter and eat them. At the time it seemed like a good idea and tasted amazing. Now....well, let's just say I'm not the healthiest person. Maybe my constant ingestion of delicious lighter fluid contributed to that. Thank you, yelp review, for that epiphany right now.

I'm from CA and calling this Mexican food is a fraud. And why is a place pretending to be a gourmet taco shop serving ground beef? I had a spicy ground beef taco (seemed like the most Mexican-like taco offering) and a tamale. The taco didn't taste Mexican at all, and wasn't very spicy. The tamale, well, they don't have a clue how to make them, it was flavorless. You'll do better at the Trader Joe's freezer section, much better!

The tacos are cheaper and have all the organ offerings a Mexican could want on Nolensville Rd., but this is nice meld of our two cultures. If you don't feel comfortable going to a real taco joint, mas tacos is a window into that savor. Space was very cramped and offerings limited, but delicious and vegetarian-friendly.

1-Star for the Cactus and Chorizo taco 1-Star for the perfect double corn tortillas 1-Star for the the quinoa taco, totally fuckin awesome! 1-star for the perfectly seasoned and flavored components of all the tacos 1-star for the Chile mango cantaloupe and the awesome juke box! I am so happy I live in the 37206, for many reasons and Mas Tacos is now high on the list. Its perfect food, fair prices, and did I mention tasty! It's the perfect unsuspecting hole in the wall, next visit the avocado taco and the grilled corn. Oh year the juke box is sweet, 50 cents for 4 songs! *cash only*

I had lunch here and it was simply amazing! The pulled pork taco was flavorful and spicy beef taco was just as great. The ice cold Mexican Coke was a perfect way to wash it all down. Seating is super limited, so I would suggest going early or late and not in the rush of lunch. Service is fast, friendly and counter-served (seat yourself). I can't wait to go back for my new found favorite taco! Pricing is great! Tacos are $3 and well worth it, meat it piled on high, two is enough to fill you up.

First time to dine at this amazing little gem was last Saturday afternoon with my eldest niece who raved, so off we went (our original intentions thwarted b/c place was closed and frankly am glad we re-routed)! Loved the cozy atmosphere and that seating meant joining others who didn't seem to mind. supplies like ample quantities of large-bottled hot sauce, napkins (paper towel rolls!) and salt & pepper all in easy reach. menu chalked on the wood en walls, as were other necessary signage postings. My niece and ordered the fish taco, and she the chicken broth-based soup and each preferred an icy Coca-Cola out of the bottle (that earns significant points right there!). Other drink choices looked tempting, and original and/or creative but for some reason, the real thing was my choice of the moment. I have to say I have never enjoyed a fish taco quite as much as I did on Saturday. The crispiness of the tilapia was perfect, light, but still meaty, and not soggy at all; the red cabbage gave it a colorful crunch, the yogurt-based sauce and the cilantro bursting thru in every bite, it was heaven! Loved that the tortilla was grilled, nice touch! Bottom line - that little baby is packed with flavor, just the right balance and not too filling, two would definitely be a treat. I didn't order the soup at first, but as I observed how my niece was raving after each spoonful, that sold me. I hooped off of my perch & placed my order (requesting that the corn kernels be omitted - they are scattered on top, a nice touch, but I opted for none) while practically in mid-bite of the taco. At the window, I raved about how very much I was enjoying the taco and the man who both filled and prep'ed seemed to sincerely appreciate of my words of gratitude. That was impressive as well; this was no simple thank you back to me, but heart-felt one! I finished my taco, almost licking the paper tray on which it had perched, and my soup order was called up. The bowl was deep and filled with a gorgeous broth, chicken chinks nestled below the topping of fresh avocado slices, fresh cilantro sprigs and strips of tostados. I may have left something out, but ohmygoodness, what a fabulous and delicious bowl of soup. I think I added a wee bit of salt, but that was it. Yeah I'm sold on this place, have thought about it every day since then and can't wait to return. The lady who sat on a stool near me said she and her pal had eaten brunch there last weekend (I think) and had eaten some mighty tasty donuts. Oh yum. Run do not walk to this amazing little eatery. If there is a line, it will be more than worth the wait. Come prepared, Mas Tacos only takes cash, bring extra because you'll want to add some of to their tip jar - I did!

Tons of hype about this place, and some of the hype is true. 1. Unique Tacos - Check 2. Local Funky Business - Check 3. The best tacos ever that i dream about them - ..not really I went to their 'business' not-truck location which is major 'still-in-transition' neighborhood. What am I trying say? Bars on the windows and doors, strange folks on the corners, just a shady vibe. THE SCOOP: CASH ONLY - Not very 2010. Limited menu- 3 tacos, 1 soup, 2 drinks to chose from. $3.00 per taco, $2.00 for a bottled water or Coke, $2.00 bowl of soup No chips, no salsa. No cheese or lettuce on your tacos. There sour cream, cilantro, some special sauce. A few seats, bad A/C Its one of those places where you really got to know someone to hear about it, its one of those places that you'll like even more cause it's not a chain restaurant and you never know what's going to be on the menu. Those are the wins. Go with the fried avocado taco, chicken was good too, but remember lock your doors and bring alot of cash.

Yummy in my tummy!!! We had the corn on the cob (best I've ever tasted- just try it), the sweet potato & quinoa taco and a pork something taco- tacos were awesome. Can't wait to go back when they have a bigger selection (it was Saturday and they were sold out of most things) The only reason I give it a 4 is bc my husband and I are a little picky about comfort- and this place wasn't comfortable. The line was long (apparently it usually is), probably about half the people there weren't the "shower every day" kind and the place was teeny tiny and cramped. We had to huddle in a corner to eat our food -- it's summer in Nashville and to our comfort addict selves, eating out side is not really an option (TOO HOT! ) I will be back in the Fall at odd times of day many times over, I'm sure- can't wait!!

Flavor is not a simple thing. I mean, everything has a flavor, but getting flavor to stand out and shine is a difficult thing. Mas Tacos takes simple flavors and makes them sing. This is a special thing in a town where most Mexican places use flavor like a sledgehammer so that everything tastes like it came out of the same Mexican flavor cannon shot onto a plate with beans and rice. Mas Tacos understands that ingredients should taste like what they are. Rich pork, crisp cabbage, creamy cool dressing, crunchy fish, refreshing cilantro. Everything flavor is distinct and just clean. Most Mexican meals leave you in a food haze at best, ready to take a nap. Mas Tacos wakes you up and makes you want more from you life. More fresh cilantro, more warm tortillas, more flavor.

okay, this place is definitely worth a couple visits. Heck, they may even be visiting your area with their famous taco truck. Yes, More Tacos Please is a great new wave take on old authentic mexican street foods. Issues are few. The A/C in the physical restaurant isn't the best so dress light. Make sure you have plenty of time to wait in line because you will. And for the type of food it is it's a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it. They use alot of organic ingredients and they don't skimp on quality. You must eat the Elote, corn with tasty cheese on it. It brings memories of scenes from Nacho Libre, you know that Jack Black movie. "Chancho let me borrow a pair of your sweats!" Eat here, get hot, enjoy the healthiness, avoid the hipsters if it's possible, and you will have great fun.

SO good. I LOVE my tacos, and being from Austin, I know what a good taco tastes like. Mas Tacos isn't the best, but it's as good as you can get in Nashville! The chicken taco and pulled pork taco were delicious. Seriously...the tortillas were yummy and not to dry or crunchy. I had the hibiscus drink which was delicious and went along well with my tacos! The wait is a little long for your food, but it's worth it when it comes out! The time I went was around Cinco de Mayo, so they also had a live DJ outside with cute decorations on and around the food truck. Seriously precious little place to visit.

Since I neither live nor work in East Nashville, I knew perfectly well I'd never have the opportunity to be at the same place and time in the universe as their taco truck. However, with the new bricks and mortar location near the corner of W. Eastland and McFerrin between Ellington Parkway and Gallatin Road, I knew I could find the time to be in the same place and time in the universe with a particular building with set hours, so I was thrilled when I heard of the Mas Tacos restaurant. Their menu is miniscule. They had three types of tacos: roast chicken, fried tilapia, and quinoa; one soup; and then some sort of drinks. That's a micro-menu. Well, since I am anti-vegetarian (I rescued my wife from a vegan household), I wasn't about to eat quinoa. The tilapia just isn't my thing, so I decided to go with a couple of their chicken tacos. Suffice to say, even there was no cheese or taco sauce, it was still excellent. There was a richness to it that cheese would have hidden; the spiciness was there without being overwhelming; even the grilled soft tacos were above average. Now the location just sucks if you don't live or work in the area. It's another East Nashville gem that is impossible to get to quickly ever. On top of that, it's the ugliest possible building, both inside and out. There's barely any signage, and unless you're really looking for it, you'd never know it was Mas Tacos. Some of the best tacos, I'd ever eaten, though.

I will take Mas Tacos over BAJA BURRITO any ol' day! You must try the fried avocado taco or the quinoa and sweet potato taco. The tomatillo sauce, red cabbage, cilantro on top of the sweet potato and quinoa. Totally yummy. The brick and mortar restaurant is not too fancy, but the food makes up for it! Oh and it is pretty reasonably priced for a yummy lunch! GO!!

This place is absolutely amazing. Pricey for tacos, but I can eat two and be pretty stuffed. Three if I'm dying of starvation, but then I'm waddling out the door. The soups and drinks are phenomenal too. Very limited menu, but the ingredients are fresh and you will definitely find something you will love. Eat here. Go now. But good luck with it being open. In the winter they only open during the day from 11-4. Weekends are the same deal but they serve a bfast taco.

the reason i gave it 4 stars. was it the best tacos ever no but they were good and fresh and i didnt worry about what was in them. the elote or grilled corn with spices wwas awesome. the tortilla soup was off the chain. the alvacado was really good and better than the pulled pork which was ok. i still got the beef and chicken to try, dont know about the sweet potato. plus two more soups and the plantains so yes i am coming back for sure.

Mas Tacos is great. It reminds me of the wonderful taco stands, Sinaloa being the best, down on international blvd in oakland. They are a little more gourmet and a little more pricey, $3 each, but I'd say they are worth it. The pulled pork and fried fish were great, tortillas awesome, everything was excellent. Atmosphere is great and I don't mind that it is CASH or check only either though it seems other folks do. Who writes a check for 2 tacos? Only wish they served beer....

I could not love this place more! Truly a Nashville original! the storefront is adorable. cozy, but very cool. i LOVE bringing out of town visitors here. The fried avocado tacos are INCREDIBLE! Oh, and go on fridays! It's fish taco friday! (i shouldnt share this information, as there will be fewer fish tacos for me!) The elotes are also incredible. It's about both the food & the experience. The AC barely works, you may have to stand in line, you wont be handed a fork (it's a darn taco!). I find it all charming, but if you aren't one to roll with it, I wouldnt recommend this place to you.

This place takes tacos to a whole new level. Went here for a work event and tried a chicken and a pork taco. I'm not typically a pork fan but this pork taco was out of this world! It was packed full of flavor and was my favorite! The chicken taco was pretty good too but now I'm totally a pork taco fan! When I went it was during the summer so they had their watermelon water! Excellent! I can't wait to go back!

At the risk of offending my fellow Yelpers, I have to say that when it comes to Mas Tacos, I don't get the appeal. Given that the average rating for this place is 4.5 stars, I expected a meal that would bring the party to my mouth and blow my mind... The food we got was good -- one thing was very good -- but nothing we got made me understand why the line was out the door for this stuff. My husband and I showed up on a Friday night and wound up standing in line for about 20 minutes before we could place our order. I don't know why it was taking some people so long to order since the menu is prominently written on the wall and when you're waiting for more than five minutes, I'm not sure how you can make it to the counter without having your mind made up, but I guess the lesson learned is that as you wait, you'll have to watch a lot of people dither. By the time we finally got to order, I was a bit peeved about the wait and said that these tacos were really going to have to be something special to justify waiting that long. We got a pulled pork taco, a spicy ground beef taco, a fried avocado taco, and a pulled chicken taco. Initially I was a bit skeptical about paying $3 for a taco, since that seemed a bit steep, but when they came out, I admit that they were really quite hefty and brimming with fillings, so I would say that the price is fair given the product. I felt pleasantly full after eating two of these babies, though I admit that I wasn't starving going in... on a hungrier night, I'm not sure two tacos would have cut it, and could easily see eating three. By far, our favorite of the bunch was the pulled pork, which had great flavor and texture and was also nicely complemented by the creamy dill sauce topping it. I really liked that unexpected addition, and it's one of the neat little twists and combinations that I commend MT for trying. The biggest letdown was the fried avocado which I was prepared to love but ultimately had to acknowledge just didn't have much flavor. The other two tacos were solid, but the flavors weren't very interesting or deep... just felt like something was missing in terms of taste, which is surprising since I know everything is made fresh and the ingredients are good quality. We also got an agua fresca (hibiscus) and a horchata to drink alongside our meals and both of these were underwhelming. The agua had no hibiscus flavor whatsoever and instead tasted like watered-down cranberry juice. The horchata also tasted extremely watered-down and wasn't creamy and luscious like it is at some places. Overall, the drinks were quite weak. The atmosphere of this place is very relaxed and low-key, and yes it's crawling with hipsters. There's no central air or even any fans going, so I feel like during the summer months you'd be better off getting your food to go, because inside it's rather sweltering (plus it's small and fills up fast) and there's no outside eating space. Also, as many have said before, it's cash only! All told, Mas Tacos isn't bad, but I feel like it's not wholly successful at whatever it's trying to do. The food is an odd mishmash of authentic and fusion, and I feel like it's nowhere near a prime example of either genre. For fusion tacos, I much prefer the food at Local Taco which has far more flavor and kick. And for authentic Mexican, I think you're better off hitting any of the myriad restaurants on Nolensville road. I find it kind of annoying when restaurants appropriate "peasant" food and start charging an arm and a leg for it or try to improve on it. That's kind of what it feels like Mas Tacos is trying to do, to which I say, "If it ain't broke..." If you're craving a taco or if you want a place to wear your geek-chic glasses, plaid, and skinny jeans, then this isn't a bad place to check out. If I were to go back, I'd probably just stick to the pulled pork as that's the only thing that impressed me... but in all likelihood, you'll find me at El Tapatio instead the next time me gusta un taco.

Mixed results on my first trip to this East Nashville taco house. Probably should have stuck with the tacos since it is called "Mas Tacos". I had the fried avocado taco which was excellent with a really tasty slaw on top. I also ordered a disappointing Green Posole Stew with Chicken. It had all the right ingredients except fresh chiles. It was too bland for my tastes. It was better after I poured half a bottle of hot sauce into it. I was also dismayed that there were no fresh salsas to go with the tacos. Just a bottle of Mexican hot sauce on the tables. When I was leaving, I did see someone with a squeeze bottle of green sauce. I wish that had been offered up when my food was served. A side option of chips and salsa would be a nice addition. I would recommend sticking to the tacos but at $3/each they are not quite the deal as the $1.25 tacos I get on Nolensville Rd. I'll try it again but I would not wait in line for it. Go early as it did start to get crowded around noon.

Found this gem by suggestion of a friend. I was completely charmed by Mas Tacos upon my first visit. I loved everything about it. Upon my second visit, still a huge fan. My recommendations would be the tortilla soup (delightful), pork tacos (excellent), and fried avocado (also very yummy). If you can time your visit for a warm day, take advantage of the adorable garden in the back. Super charming. I'll be back again during my next visit!

Yeah this place is small, seating is limited, and they only take cash and checks.. but none of that matters when you bite into one of their amazing tacos. Being from the West Coast has made me a bit of a Mexican food snob as places like Las Palmas are popular here serving food from a can. But Mas Tacos does it right. Choices include the mouth watering fried tilapia, cast iron chicken, fried avocado, pulled pork, and more including breakfast tacos for Saturday brunch. Their chicken tortilla soup with big chucks on avocado is to die for.

Update: If you are looking for the taco truck, you can always find her current location by following mastacos on Twitter. This is a really easy way to get your favorite tacos! If you don't tweet, she is usually outside the Five Spot on monday nights and at Imogene + Willy on thursday nights.

I dream about the quinoa tacos. I crave them. I've driven from Franklin on more than one occasion to get them. I like them with and without the sweet potatoes - and I like them spicy (habañero) with lots of cabbage and cilantro. The fish tacos are quite tasty, and usually not too greasy. Breakfast tacos are yummy, too. I've not been impressed with the chicken (not bad, just kinda.. bland to me), but have friends who LOVE them. Never tried the pork or the fried avocado. I always think I want three, but can only eat two. (But sometimes I eat three anyway) Watermelon aqua fresca in July? Um, yeah! Free churros, just because? Sí, por favor. Always friendly, clean and courteous. As quick as they can be.

This is one of my favorite spots (well, roaming spots) in Nashville. I literally have traipsed across five points in a semi-trance muttering "mas tacos - mas tacos - mas tacos...."... yeah, for real. The fried fish tacos are AMAZING! It really is the best food you can get on a late evening in East Nashville. At first, I was skeptical of this Mas Tacos RV cruising around... I didn't believe Nashville had food like this to offer. But yes, Mas Tacos delivers! I am addicted! One of my favorite Nashville establishments! The only thing they could do better is be more consistent in updating their twitter account so people know where they are... but I'm sure they'll get better at that.

Their ingredients are fresh it makes for a fantastic taco. I recommend the chicken or the fried avocado. The tacos from the truck are just as good as the east nashville location.

I can't believe I waited so long to try one of these tacos! I was eating light last night & tried the fish taco. It wasn't on the big menu board but there was a small sign at the register that said they had some. YUM! Everything down to the corn tortilla was excellent. The fish was fried perfectly & not greasy. Love the crunchy cabbage, the sauce, the fresh lime juice, the fresh cilantro. Heavenly! Will surely be back for more!

I absolutely love the fried avocado taco and the corn. Bring cash-I'm pretty sure they aren't taking credit cards yet.

Delicious, cheap and quick. The chicken tacos are really tasty. Be sure to load on some of the stand's hot sauce as well. No meat? Go quinoa & veggie.

Seriously I cannot say enough good things about Mas Tacos. Everything I've had is delicious, service is friendly and fast, and parking is a breeze. To top it off, it's exactly a mile from my door. It's become our regular Saturday morning brunch spot, perfect breakfast tacos, hot coffee, and last week, they started selling churros!

Watermelon aqua fresca with hot tamales perfect together! Licuados fruit drinks great too, especially with the veggie quinoa, avacado or fish tacos. With those you get 2 corn tortillas together filled with the main ingredient and of course sauce & cilantro. Now east Nashville has street style taqueria food in an inside restaurant. Cement block walls and mismatched chairs seem okay with the live cacti and Mexican serape blanket decor.

Tortillas soup, tilapia taco, pinapple cilantro drink, and corn. Everything is really great. Dont forget your cash though!

Killer tacos go well with cold beer. License for beer and wine would make a HUGE difference. Still a killer taco either way!

Had an amazing first time. It will now become my new Thursday ritual. The fried tilapia taco is soooo good. The best $3 taco ever! Next time I'd just ask to go light on the sauce.

I heart Mas Tacos. I usually get the quinoa, and it is flavorful and delicious. My boyfriend loves the pork, and he is very picky about his tacos. (Texans!) He says the fish tacos are good too; I look forward to trying them. The watermelon agua fresca is good too. And Teresa, the proprietor, is supercute and friendly. The only way this place could be any better is if they settled in a storefront (so I'd always know where to find it) and served margaritas!

The chicken tortilla soup with lime simply kills it. Fresh avocado, cliantro, lime, tomato, and queso fresco simmering in rich, homemade chicken broth seasoned with homegrown habanero and onion. A steaming bowl of summer fiesta wrapped in the comfort of your cozy pants on a rainy day, and this is before you include the soft atmosphere provided by a vintage jukebox full of warm '70's jams. I feel good.

I first experienced Mas Tacos from their truck as they were catering an outdoor wedding. It was an excellent choice for the wedding and all the guests at the reception loved the idea. The tacos are magnificent with original recipes and a good amount of flavor, plus their drinks are tasty with my favorite being the horchata. I have since been back to their East Nashville location and I'm constantly on the hunt for their mobile truck.

This place has won me over. The flavours just burst into your mouth regardless of the dish. Having a small menu is fine as their dishes are so good that you will easily find a favourite. The food is very healthy and so fresh. For me, the chicken tortilla soup is out of this world. They have odd opening hours so you need to plan ahead if going. In most cases It only takes about 5 mins to wait for your order. They can run out of certain dishes towards closing time but that is to be expected with such great food on offer...Dining in - This place is best suited for two people rather than a group of friends as there is not much dining space. I often dine alone on my way home or for lunch and in that case you are more likely find a spot to eat.

Passing through Nashville for one night - local friends take me to a baseball game (Sounds vs. Redbirds) - which is fine, except that I'm starving and not too keen on over-processed pretzels or mystery-meat hotdogs. What's a girl to do? First of all, she convinces her friends to leave during the 7th inning. Then, she asks them where a Mas Tacos truck may be found on a cloudy friday night in Nashville. I've heard about this taco truck for a while, so I was very excited to see it sitting in the middle of 5 Points on a late, cloudy Friday night. I ordered 1 quinoa taco (with corn, jalepeno, and potato) and the fried avocado taco. Both were amazing, quite large for the price, filled with good fresh ingredients, and perfectly satisfying. The fried avocado was definitely my fave. It came in 2 corn tortillas with a yogurt dill sauce, shredded red cabbage, and a little bit of quinoa. Yum!

Some friends and I went by for lunch on Wed for Tamales! These were the best tamales I have ever had. The tacos were unique and very tasty. I would highly recommend this little restaurant and will forever regard it as a personal favorite.

Hard to pass up any opportunity to grab a taco or three from Mas Tacos. Chicken and fish tacos are both top-notch. I think she also makes one with quinoa for you non meat eaters. It's all good and comes with plenty of cilantro - a must for any taco.

Wonderful addition to the gastronomic scene in east Nashville. The folks in the truck are now inside some walls. Yes it's a hole in the wall but the food is great, fresh and delicious. The pork tacos are wonderful. Now if they only had tamales.

I have had the Chicken, Fish and Quinoa tacos and all have been really delicious. The Mas Tacos truck is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Now, if I can just catch her when she has the roasted corn, she may get an extra star in her rating! ;-)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
