Very good, I really like it! Kind of pricey though.

The first time I went here was right after they opened, I got to chat with the owner and her husband. I've had their chocolate the most (I love chocolate!!) you can taste the quality. It's very rich... I also think I had a pistachio. Either way..it's delicious!!! Certainly a place to take people!!!

I've tried every "must go" gelato shop in Italy that were recommended, but I never had that "wow" or "aha!" moment until I tried Legato Gelato. O.M.G.

Very good. Great flavors. Very creamy. I rate it 4 stars because I'm partial to Jeni's Splendid Ice cream.

  • Simone G.

Great service, great house made gelato! You can come in and taste any flavor you want, then they give you a generous portion of the one you pick. You can even mix flavors. I also love the decor. I definitely plan on going back to taste the Italian sodas and for more gelato!

I'm Italian so clearly really good gelato is important to me. This place did not disappoint! I got the dark chocolate and the English toffee with sea salt. The combination was fantastic together! The service was great also. The store was really cute and the location is very central to the area and convenient. I recommend Legato Gelato very highly!

Fantastic, local gelato. I put Legato Gelato and Jeni's Ice Cream (East Nashville) in nearly the same category, which says a lot for me. When I was there most recently, I got the peach gelato and happened to quip "I wonder if the peaches in this are from The Peach Truck" to which my scooper casually replied, "They are." If I wasn't hooked before, I am now because only in Nashville will you find such a supportive network of local businesses and restaurants. Come early in the night- batches are small and they run out quickly! There's a constant, but fast-moving line!

FABULOUS!!!!! We drive from Smyrna , TN to Edgehill at least once every two weeks for the most delicious gelato I have ever tasted. Beautiful, adorable, super clean little shop and amazing flavors. Go and try....you will be so sad for the time you have lived without it....!!!!!

  • Sara P.

This little shop is adorable and the coffee gelato is delicious!!!! Best gelato I've ever had!!!!

  • Elyse B.

This place is fairly new, and SO good!! Ice cream is in the past, and Froyo is good...but nothing beats a nice creamy cold gelato! Legato Gelato is located in Edgehill village and is so freakin cute! They have a great atmosphere, friendly staff and quality gelato. The best part is they have awesome flavors...like burnt sugar, and double chocolate. If you want some of the best gelato you are going to have...come here!

  • Linda H.

I love the various unique flavor that you can find here sometimes. Also, they'll put more than one favor in your pint to go! SCORE! I love it here and wish that I lived in Nashville to visit more often.

Just opened this past week. Located right next to Taco mamasito. First, the gelato and coffee are awesome! Made fresh everyday, really great flavors as well. Met the owners Terri-Ann and Berchaun. They traveled abroad a bit and have perfecting their recipes for years before they finally got their store. Great people. Really good spot, I will be back for sure.

Tasty gelato from a local! A bit on the pricey side, but the product is awesome and the flavors are creative.

  • Jessica M.

Great gelato, very friendly owners, and a really beautifully designed space. Wonderful for an after-dinner sweet. (They have a few pastries in addition to the gelato/ice cream.) We'll be back for sure!

  • Vanessa G.

Color me a gelato fan! And, I recently learned that it has less fat than ice cream. Make it a double! I feel like I"m in Europe in this place - it's just so cute. I loved the espresso to go along with my tasty treat. You can combine three flavors in one serving so I sampled pistachio, hazelnut and dark chocolate and they were all delicious. I'll definitely head back to this place.

  • Austin G.

I absolutely love Legato Gelato. The owners are lovely people, the flavors are fantastic, and the decor is adorable. I'll visit LG anytime I am near Edgehill Village. Highly recommend!

We just moved to Nashville and nothing could be a better remedy to the humid summer heat than this amazing gelateria! The flavors are so fresh tasting, we tried passion fruit, blackberry, and chocolate but easily could have tried so many more. Apparently the Italian sodas are excellent as well (grapefruit is especially recommended). We plan to come back early and often!

Legato Gelato is hands down the best gelato I have had in town to date! It's located in the Edgehill area, and is really a great find. If you are having dinner at any of the neighboring restaurants, make sure you save room for some delicious gelato. From what I hear, they change their favors out about once a week. With that being said, you will always have something new to look forward to if you go at least once a week. The store is welcoming and clean, and the staff is really nice. On my visit I had a combination of coffee and hazelnut, and it was damn good. I can't wait to see what kind of favors they will have next time I'm in there.

Great place. First time I have been here. Staff are friendly and the gelato is excellent. Try the ginger, unique.

  • Jennifer N.

Delectable! This sweet little shop in Edgehill village has it all- perfect gelato in an appetizing array of flavors, clean and cute decor and vibe, super helpful staff, and even extra delicious treats at checkout. (The chocolate pistachios I purchased were Ah-mah-zing!) Do yourself a favor and indulge!

  • Erin M.

This place is dangerously close to my work, I fear I may be walking to legato on a regular basis. The store is adorable, neat, and clean and the gelato is fabulous! I tried the hazelnut and will definitely be returning so I can try a little of everything.

I travel to Nashville on business about once a month and just happened in on this place. OMG--hands down the BEST gelato I've ever tasted. The staff is awesome and the the shop is simple and welcoming. After eathing the dark chocolate gelato I remember saying to myself that if I got hit by a bus on the way home I wouldn't care because I had just eaten one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life. Don't miss this place--it's fantastic!

    (5)
  • Kim S.

Everything a gelato place should be. The young lady was very friendly and recommended other places to visit in Nashville. The dark chocolate gelato was the best I've ever had. It was rich and flavorful. I tried the coconut also. Parking is difficult here so my husband had to do the drop me off and circle the block plan. It is delicious and worth the aggravation on no good parking.

    (5)
  • Joanna R.

Oh my goodness I wish I had been in Nashville for more time. This was such great gelato. The flavors all looked amazing but I went with guava (like a true Cuban) and peanut butter. Lovely and tasty combination. Nommmm.

Being new to Nashville ourselves, my husband and I read about Legato Gelato a few days after it opened and decided to check it out. Having spent time in Italy sampling gelato nearly everywhere I could find, I was eager to taste the owners' take on authentic gelato -- and I wasn't disappointed! Everything we tasted then (and on our return visits) was delicious and fresh -- the tiramisu, coffee, straciatella, sweet milk, lemon lime, grapefruit, peanut butter and local honey. Also, many of the flavors are switched out daily so we can always try something new when we go in. Another thing that impressed me is that they cater to customers with different dietary needs, offering both gelato and sorbetto and including dietary notes (such as gluten-free) on the flavor name cards. We've sampled only the gelato so far, but I can't wait for the weather to cool down so I can try some of the coffee drinks, too. I thought the prices were also pretty reasonable ($4.50 for a small with two large scoops, so you can try two flavors at once). Besides offering some of the freshest, tastiest gelato I've had, the owners and workers were really friendly. They make customers feel welcome and seem to genuinely care about their products and their business. We haven't been able to eat anywhere in Edgehill Village yet without stopping by for gelato afterward. So far, this is definitely one of my new favorite places in Nashville.

Get the coffee & chocolate gelato together. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?! Why have I not tried this before?!?!

Legato Gelato will rock your world. When I first visited Edgehill Village, I came across Legato Gelato and was drawn in by the trendy interior and the crowd that filled it. The guy behind the counter was friendly and willing to explain every flavor, and he told me that the ingredients are locally sourced and organic. Definitely a unique flavor selection, lavender gelato is a bit too adventurous for me, but many were creative twists on classic flavors. I decided on an "affogato," which is espresso over gelato (I went with salted caramel). I'm not a big espresso drinker, but this thing melted into a magical coffee/caramel cup of heaven! It's not the cheapest place in town, but given the quality, it's completely reasonable for an occasional treat!

    (5)
  • Catherine W.

This place is cute. The hazelnut gelato affogato is fantastic! The shakes are good, but I think it really depends on what you choose, also we weren't allowed to choose more than 1 flavor and that's a bummer. But there isn't 1 thing that I didn't like there. There's lower calorie options, like sorbet. This place could be slow when there's a group in front of you, because everyone wants to taste their options... I don't blame them. The employees are nice enough, but not overly helpful or super knowledgeable. Also, the espresso in the affogato was perfecto. I believe they use Counter Culture coffee. Give yourself a few minutes to find parking.

  • Gregory R.

Wow. Wow. Wow. They know what they are doing here. Handmade gelato done right. And in such a cutely decorated space. Very sweet. Make sure you stop by at least once a week to get your fix. They swap out flavors regularly. On the last visit I think I had something with cucumber and basil. It sounded interesting and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was shockingly refreshing and delicious. You can't go wrong. All the flavors are full and natural. None of that fake powdery flavor-ish stuff you get at all the frozen yogurt shops. This is the real deal. The owner is very passionate about her gelato making too. She chatted with me for a while about what makes a gelato a gelato and explained to me why my homemade pistachio gelato attempt went horribly wrong. Another little Nashville gem where you get the feeling that the primary goal is making something amazingly delicious (with the assumption that the profits will follow). I like that business model :) Please add this to your regular rotation. I want them to stay in business for a very long time!

  • Ashley S.

I never have enough good things to say about Legato Gelato. Not only is it the best gelato I've ever had stateside (I fancy myself something of an Italian gelato expert from my various trips over there), the environment is so lovely, and the owners are amazing and beautiful people. They work so hard and make a huge effort to know their customers - they always remember my name when I walk in. This is my boyfriend's and my favorite place for a mini-date, and luckily we live walking distance! Was also super excited to see them on Nashville! You can't go wrong with the dark chocolate and sweet cream, but I love their rotating fruit flavors as well, and it's fun to ask them what their favorite combo of the day is. Best place in Nashville, without a doubt!! If you love coffee, try the affogato (espresso on gelato). The coffee they serve is also molto buona!

    (5)
  • Rachel M.

Love. Love, love, LOVE. This is the most adorable little place I've ever seen! I could live here. The gelato is legen...wait for it...dary! (Husband and I have been on a 'How I Met Your Mother' kick on Netflix) It's fantastic. Plus, you can get there from Taco Mamacita. You don't even have to go outside! I was stupid excited over this. The service is excellent. Go to this place. Go now!

    (5)
  • Lauren S.

Pros: -lots of flavors, all creamy, fresh & delicious -good service -bright, clean location -especially great flavors include stracciatella (sp?) which is a minty chocolate chip, and hazelnut. The chocolate actually tastes like you're eating chocolate bar! Snickerdoodle is a lil taste of cinnamony goodness. Cons: -a wee bit expensive (but it's gelato so I'll let it slide) -parking. unless you snag a spot on the street (which you probably wont,) you'll have to use the pay lot across the street

  • Trisha P.

A friend and I stopped in at Legato Gelato a whim at the close of an evening bike ride. What a way to end the evening. I got the ginger, pistachio and chocolate. While all three flavors were wonderful, the ginger was a real star. It tasted like fresh ginger, not pumpkin pie spice, and was incredibly refreshing--perfect for an early fall evening! Subsequent visits will determine whether Legato Gelato can top Jeni's in my frozen dessert pantheon....but it has made a fantastic start. With its delicious gelato, friendly staff and attractive decor, it's a wonderful addition to Edgehill Village.

  • Julie D.

I'm a sucker for gelato. I just like it so much better than ice cream. I mean, why does ice cream not come in the unique flavors that gelato does? Actually, I'm glad it doesn't because than I would probably not like gelato as much. Enough with the rant. Legato Gelato is DELICIOUS! After a long hot day spent outside at the Tomato Festival my friends and I decided that we needed something to cool us off. You can get up to three flavors in a small size cup so I if course went for all three flavors. I usually like fruit flavors when I'm really hot, but I felt like indulging this day. Graham cracker, hazel nut, and burnt sugar were my sins of choice. The three flavors together were like a glorified s'more! The little fat girl inside me is oh so happy to have this place nearby.

    (4)
  • Matt L.

I really grew to enjoy Fat Straw when it was around, and I will miss the chance to get bubble tea every now and then. That being said, it's pretty good for gelato. Gelato is generally a little heavier than ice cream, and it's usually smoother. I would say that they seem to go just a little overboard with the flavors, but I had the coconut, and it was great.

    (4)
  • Bob S.

Dark Chocolate was sinful.... But the sugar cone was stale... improve the cone....

    (4)
  • Joshua G.

goodness this place is great. the sign outside says made fresh daily and one taste and you can tell. I had a combo of the coffee and vanilla and both were so rich and creamy I was in gelato heaven. plenty of seating outside if the inside is full which was great. the staff was extremely nice and eager to let you sample. I will be back as soon as possible

    (5)
  • Sarah D.

Burnt Sugar. My flavor today was...Burnt Sugar. That little ocean blue clear colored tiny shovel of a spoon could not work hard enough to put it in my mouth fast enough. And....the name of the place made me start singing that song from the 80's: Mr. Ro-bot-o. And it's decor is just so lovely. You just kinda want to tip-toe in and flutter out. You just feel...lighter.

    (5)
  • Ruben M.

Workers here are the cutest ever! But other than their appearance, if you've read my past reviews you'll know I need atmosphere and this place does not disappoint! It's just the cutest thing ever!! Very clean, open cute house feel! The gelato is beyond this word... Seriously! :) So all n all, a must visit!

    (5)
  • Sunny S.

Nice but could have been a little more tasty with richer flavors . There's brands good to make dark chocolate and brands to make milk chocolate :)

    (3)
  • Kevin K.

Yes. Simply yes. Sea salt and toffee gelato was amazing. Perfect end to a meal after Taco Mamacita

    (5)
  • J G.

Sweet Cici's has nothing on Legato. I might even say that Jeni's has been topped in my book...but it really just depends on my mood. Besides having the cutest, clean and simple shop, the gelato is so great. It's lighter and fluffier than Jeni's and the flavors are more delicate. So fresh and delicious. Go get yourself a cup today!

  • Kimberly K.

Smooth. Creamy. Not too sweet. Packed with flavor. Yes, this place is legit. The store is adorable. Loving the decor. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The lady who helped us was friendly, quick, and helpful. Parking can be a bit difficult to find depending on what time you come. There is a lot nearby but you have to pay. We found street parking in a neighborhood nearby that was free. The selection is nice. There isn't a big variety of flavors, but what they offer is incredibly tasty. Quality ingredients are definitely used. Some of my favorites were Coconut, Strawberry, and Dark Chocolate. A small cup can hold up to 3 flavors. Cute gelato spot.

    (4)
  • Helen V.

My friends and I had never been, so I was skeptical when my family wanted to go, but it was great. The pistachio, sea salt, stratchiatella (sp?), coffee and cream cheese were all very good. I also liked the detail of European-style water bottles near the tables.

    (4)
  • Hall W.

Hands down this is the best all around gelato shop I have ever been to (and that includes Europe). What I really like about this place is that you have your usual party favorites (in terms of flavors), but they always experiment new flavors - frequently with local Nashville add ons (i.e. Toffee). The place looks super clean and modern - but with a trendy blue flavor and coloring to it. Hipsters, college students, and families alike would find their palette satisfied and a cultural experience.

    (5)
  • Thomas H.

Legato Gelato is a truly refined gem in the middle of West Nashville. The service is friendly, the gelato is delicious and the atmosphere is an elegant slice of Italy. I highly recommend the donut paired with the sea salt with English toffee for a delightful dichotomy in a generous 4 oz. cups. The tiny spoons allow you to savor each bite.

    (5)
  • Kevin W.

Best gelato I have ever had. There were only about 8 flavors, and I tried about 4 of them and all of them were really good. Nice, rich, and creamy. I settled on the pistachio and the coffee. I liked the modern and hip decor. The stores around the area were pretty cool too. I could see this place being really busy on a Friday or a Saturday night. Parking was a little bit of a pain though. We parked in the parking lot across the street and needed to pay a parking fee. It was only $1 for 30 min. Street parking may pose difficult to find when this area gets busy.

  • Jonathan B.

Atmosphere: The shop is located in a very trendy strip of shops. Service: I literally sampled half of what they had and the employees definitely seemed to know about every single gelato. Food: I always indulge myself here. Very comparable to Jeni's. Overall: I always love coming back here - and occasionally you can score a deal!

    (4)
  • Scott T.

Ice cream is for idiots. Eat gelato instead! This is my favorite gelato joint in town. They make all their gelato daily in house and offer about 8 flavors at any given time. Feel free to sample them all before deciding which three to cram into a small cup (or 4 in a large).

    (5)
  • Brittany F.

I'm in love with this place! I've been quite a few times and each time it's spot on amazing!! They typically only have about 8 flavors, which makes it hard to narrow it down just to 3 flavors!! When I took some friends recently, they remarked that they usually go to gelato places that have way more options...my response....you don't need a lot of options here!!! I don't need more delicious options to choose from!! I usually don't like vanilla ice cream, or really vanilla anything, but this place has the most incredible vanilla gelato ever. I actually choose it over other flavors, which is so unlike me!! One of my other favorites is the vegan chocolate. Now, I'm not vegan, not even close. I typically don't like anything vegan because nothing tastes better than nice creamy smooth dairy ice cream/gelato, but the vegan chocolate gelato here is unreal. It has the best texture and an amazingly strong chocolate flavor! Another option to consider is the affogato, which is a scoop of gelato with a shot of espresso. It is amazing!!! The last time I went I got it with the hazelnut gelato and it was like heaven!! The espresso they use is already smooth, but add gelato to it and it is magical!!! Typically, the employees are super sweet as well. This last time the girl working wasn't the friendliest and this was the first time I've ever had someone that wasn't awesome. It still couldn't bring down my experience though!!

    (5)
  • Corie K.

If I am going to go out for ice cream, this is where I want to go. I am not a huge ice cream fan but this I could eat by the tubful! It's not too sweet and the flavors are fantastic!

    (4)
  • Kristin L.

As if the beautiful branding and aesthetic weren't enough to lure you into this adorable gelato shop, the flavors will be. While the menu rotates, and usually there are only 6 to 8 flavors available (all made fresh daily), you'll find some great concoctions like Doughnut (OMG, bring it back soon, please!) and Bourbon Brittle. I've never had a single kind I didn't love, and the people are so friendly and the interior so inviting, I would straight-up move into Legato Gelato if they let me! There are also tables outside for those who want to have their dessert alfresco. Legato's location next door to Edgehill Cafe and Taco Mamacita--two of my regular dinner spots--is dangerous as I all too often find myself popping in after a meal.

    (5)
  • Rebecca M.

Sweet, creamy, delicious gelato! A friend and I accidentally wandered upon Legato Gelato after eating next door. It looked too good to pass up, so we went for it. I do not regret this delicious decision. It is just plain yummy.

    (4)
  • Laura T.

Best ice cream in Nashville by far! The gelato is made fresh with quality ingredients and they always have a dairy free option available.

    (5)
  • David L.

Stopped here for a mid-afternoon treat. Tucked onto a side road off Music Row, this quaint little shop offers a small, but, delectable variety of fresh, homemade gel atoms. After considerable deliberation (and multiple taste samples!), we settled on the double dark chocolate and sea salt/caramel flavors. The "regular" size is perfect for a generous taste treat. And, what a treat! Rich, creamy flavors that were simply delicious! I'll be back to visit soon. SO good!!

    (5)
  • Cher Y.

Real rich decadent flavors that changes on a daily basis. Spoon and bowl licking good gelatos served by friendly folks. Neat decor. It's a good thing I don't live near it - moderation is key here. Parking can be a headache but so worth it ....(even in winter!)

  • Tim A.

We really are spoiled for ice cream in Nashville. Most cities would kill to have a place approaching the quality of Jeni's or Legato. Here, we have both. Yippee! While the flavors are remarkable, I think I have to hand Jeni's the award on that front. That's not to say Legato isn't elite in this regard, but surmounting Jeni's flavor profiles is sort of like trying to beat Usain Bolt in a footrace. But what keeps me coming back to these places in alternation, as opposed to just one or the other, are Legato's textures. This gelato has a consistency that other ice creams dream about in the same way Kim Kardashian wishes she looked like an actual model. Amazingly, even the sorbets bear something resembling creaminess, which is quite a feat when you don't actually use cream. Legato is a treasure on warm Southern nights, but I've been known to show up when it's in the low 30s as well. You should consider doing likewise.

    (5)
  • Phung N.

Excellent gelato quality. The textures was smooth and creamy. We came for the affogato, which is a gelato mixed with an espresso shot. We got hazelnut affo and pistachio affo. Very yummy. The people there nice and I can see this place being the spot to hang for people who like to read or study etc. The room is a bit too small though and a bit crowded and I don't think it can accommodate more than 15 to 20 people at a time. Other than that give this place a try, you will love it.

    (4)
  • Stephen P.

Note that I haven't had gelato here, but if I do, I will have it here. See, I got a gelato milkshake instead. And it was incredible! You can choose 1-2 flavors for your milkshake. I got a strawberry and cream cheese shake. Yum! It's $6, but I enjoyed it more than my usual Jeni's Milkshake from Hot and Cold. The Edgehill Village Vibe runs into this store, and it is wonderfully cozy. Seating inside includes a bench, but outdoor seating is great (and summer is coming). Very nice people, using local products to make gelato. Love it, and will be a repeat customer.

Super cute decor. Delicious gelato. Loved the pistachio! Highly recommended nice staff

  • Andrew C.

This is the best Gelato I have ever had, and possibly the best ice cream or frozen dessert I have ever had. I had been to Bella Napoli and Taco Mamacita several times and this place had pretty much gone unnoticed. It is a good thing that it did not stay that way. If you find yourself in this area then go check this place out!

    (5)
  • Krista R.

Cute gelato shop near Vanderbilt with really friendly employees. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the flavors range from traditional chocolate and pistachio to lavender. You can try every flavor before you buy -- wonderful for someone so indecisive like me. Legato sells some cute of Nashville / TN food items, too. I got some Bourbon Brittle that was fabulous!

    (4)
  • Lisa B.

Best gelato in Nashville. There, I said it. I used to be a big fan of the Whole Foods gelato bar or places like Bravo Gelato, but now I can't go to either without sighing. *sigh* This isn't Legato. Legato, you have ruined me. I'm not even mad. Parking can be interesting in Edgehill, especially if you're cheap like me and avoid the pay lot at all costs. Pick a side street and take a little stroll to walk off what you're about to indulge in. I can't really give an accurate flavor recommendation because they change often and are basically all amazing. Lately the peach has been my favorite and dark chocolate is always good mixed with banana or pretty much anything else. Bonus: Find them at the 12th South farmer's market on a hot day to cool you off while you browse!

I made sure to yelp this place so I could review it when I got home. I went to Italy back in March and I have craved amazing Gelato since then, never finding anywhere as good. until we went to Nashville this month and one night after dinner we ended up here. DELICIOUS! seriously I will dream about the gelato from here while I'm back home in Ny. plus the place was so cute. we also tried bravo gelato while down there and it wasn't even close as good as this place. I only wish we had gone here our first night (they closed before we could get there) we probably would have gone back every night while on vacation!

Two words: Basil gelato. I have dreams about it. (five more words)

Love this place. As delicious as Jeni's without the annoying line. Sweet potato gelato is amazing!

  • Wynter F.

Legato Gelato is so good! The cups are small but they seem to pack a lot in that tiny cup. I couldn't finish it the last time I went. All of the flavors are great but I really enjoy the hazelnut the best.

  • Bridgette C.

I don't need to write a long review to tell you this place is awesome. Small, adorable, clean, classy, great service, great location in Edgehill Village, fantastic gelato (hmm mango yums!)...this little shop has it all. Not too expensive and a guiltless pleasure on a hot summer day. Seriously stop in here while strolling about Edgehill and enjoy a tasty cool treat. You can even sample the flavors that interest you before making your final decision. All around a solid summer indulgence.

Who doesn't love gelato!?! They have great classic flavors and unique flavors that change regularly. They have a great texture to their gelato. Great afternoon treat or after dinner to a date.

  • Samantha S.

As good as it gets! Holy moly. I JUST tried this amazing-ness last weekend at Taste Of Music City and am kicking myself for missing out on this for as long as I have. So rich and creamy, not too sweet and sugary, great location (ADORABLE store!), very helpful staff. Get the dark chocolate... you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to go back and try the "crazier" flavors soon.

    (5)
  • E G.

Cute little gelato shop close to Music Row. The staff appear to be friendly and enthusiastic about being there. I love the little mini cones they sell in a pack. Iv'e only been once and had the pistachio gelato. It was good but nothing mind-blowing or special. I will be back to try other flavors. Gelato is good for you. :-)

  • John S.

First time I have ever had gelato, and I am hooked! It is super creamy and delicious, and the servers are very friendly and the shop is very cute. This place could give Jeni's a run for its money because it's really good, but it also depends on my mood whether I want gelato or ice cream.

Gelato is a rare treat for me. The employees were so nice and offered free samples of all flavors. I had the banana, doughnut & pistachio flavors. All were awesome, and blended well together. I highly recommend trying out Legato Gelato!

They always have amazing flavors, comparable to Jeni's in my book, but with more home run flavors...they almost always have Pistachio, and they have the best dark chocolate I've ever had... I think they have multiple kinds of dark chocolate & there's one in particular that was incredible.

Yum! Stopped in with hubs for a celebratory treat after some celebratory drinks next door. I had some very creamy gelato-I sampled the 'peanut butter and local honey' and the 'dark chocolate.' Hubs had the bourbon vanilla. All were really quite tasty, and the shop is adorable. Also, they sell baked goods by 'Dozen' which is a bakery favorite of mine. She doesn't have her own shop (to my knowledge, last I heard she may have been working on getting one), but sells treats at farmer's markets and several local businesses. The only reason for the star reduction is I wish the scoops were larger, (obviously a common problem with ice cream products), and that I feel like some gelatos I've had in the past are more intensely flavored (only a critique of the PB, the chocolate was very chocolatey. perhaps the PB was meant to be more subtle?)

The flavors we tried were smooth with the right mix of creamy and sweet. The stracciatella had a wonderful balance of flavors. The pistachio was creamy and nutty. The dark chocolate was packed with rich top shelf chocolaty goodness. The friendly owner let us sample multiple flavors, which I recommend. On my next visit (likely of many) I'll try some of the fruit or interesting combinations. The prices are very reasonable and the interior is really cool.

legato gelato is pretty fantastic. i've been craving gelato for two days, and was completely stuffed from my delicious meal at taco mamacita, but forced the gelato down my throat, expanding my stomach from it's original God-designed size so that i could enjoy all of the yumminess involved. i had the "small" size--and couldn't even finish that. opting for the sea salt toffee and bourbon vanilla combination, i have fond memories of this gluttonous endeavor. they have some everyday flavors and then speciality daily flavors, so you can go each day and experience some other flavor of glory!

What I love about Legato: -unique flavors, all very fresh and creamy -adorable employees- they seem to love their jobs, which is great! -rotating flavors, which keeps me coming back! My only gripe: -kind-of pricey...

The lemon gelatto (Italian Ice) was superb. Great creamy texture. I would love a touch of fresh lemon zest in it to add an extra note.

Actually, I am a bit surprised that I have not written a review for Legato Gelato. We've been here so often. I've decided to use a song to review, but before I do let me spell out in plain English why I love this joint: (1) Vegan friendly gelato (and signs signifying it) (2) Gluten free gelato (and signs signifying it) (3) Awesome owner (4) Great location near where I live, near where I hang out, and near Taco Mamacita And now to break into song... Your love Is not better than Legato Gelato Better than anything else that I've tried except gelato And your love Is not better than Legato Gelato Everyone here knows how to cry (for gelato) And it's a long way down It's a long way down It's a long way Down to the place where we started from. Your love Is better than chocolate Better than anything else that I've tried except gelato And oh love is better than chocolate but not gelato. Everyone here knows how to fight And it's a long way down It's a long way down It's a long way Down to the place where we started from. (thanks Sarah McLachlan)

Where did you come from, you amazing gelato beast? a. Over the rainbow. A rainbow of wondrous and magical flavors that taste like every person's own personal heaven (mine? pistachio and coffee). b. Mecca. A place the most devout must travel to at least once in their lifetime to achieve enlightenment (enlightenment best served with espresso, affogato syle). c. Someplace that is too wonderful and beautiful to even be imagined. It can only be tasted. And served with a striped straw. d. All of the above. Answer: d.
