Good burger, onion rings were unremarkable...but it was ridiculously overpriced. $20 for a burger, rings and two drinks...really?

We went to the mall from out of town and decided to try out Johnny Rockets. Huge mistake. Our waitress was very friendly. She took our order of 2 burgers and brought us our onion rings. A bit later she came back and apologized they had done a shift change and had somehow managed to lose our ticket. She brought us more onion rings and assured us it wouldn't be much longer. Eventually she came out with a burger for my boyfriend and told us we could either take mine off of our ticket or recook it because it got messed up. She offered us a knife to cut our one burger in half because we were on our way to a concert and didn't have time to wait. We cut the burger in half and it wasn't cooked all the way. All in all we were there for over an hour and ate nothing but onion rings and left with a free milkshake. Luckily we weren't charged though. I may have flipped a table.

I am going to have to say this place was OKAY...nothing major, nothing fab..but okay. I have past it at least 100 times in the best few years, because it is in the major crossroads of the Opry Mills Mall..and its colorful BRIGHT RED and NEON is a welcoming site..but I was NOT impressed with the food. The service was good. Our waiter was friendly and quick... the food was just so so..I did like the taste of the seasoning in the hamburger I had the HOUSTON which was just a regular cheeseburger with lettuce tomato, onion and jalapeno peppers..nothing fancy for $7..my daughter had the mushroom burger..and she enjoyed it. But it was runny greasy for me and that is just too much grease for my stomach.. So, I am going to say A-OK but nothing to write home to mama about...

My husband, one year old daughter and I have been here 3 or 4 times. The food itself has never been bad but it's never as good as the other Jonny rockets I have visited. Having lived in the Virginia D.C. area where there are 2 Johnny Rockets this one totally sucks compared to those. The food itself has never been gross. It's always been edible. On one occasion the cooks messed up my burger twice. I really hate when my food is messed up when I ordered it correctly. When I sit down to eat I'm there because I'm hungry. I don't want to be presented with a burger then need to send the steaming hot food back to the kitchen. When I want to eat. I want it right the first time. The restaurant is always a little dirty. Our table has been sticky. The floor has been sticky. The whole restaurant gives a dingy feeling. I have never used their bathrooms I always use the mall's because I know those are clean. The biggest issue with this location is the employees. Every time we have gone there the employees are hanging out with friends at the bar. I visit mall often as my daughter loves the play place. There hasn't been a day where I haven't seen the employees messing around with friends. The service is terrible. The staff always seems like they have something more important to do other than serve the customers. We have reached the last straw with this location when we tried to signal our waitress over for 3-5 minutes, it was only till a bus boy told our waitress we needed something that she came over. We just needed a receipt because she did not give us one after running our card. She seemed to tune out the second she brought our card back and expected us to leave even thought we clearly we waiting for her. We will not be returning.

The only reason I gave it a star is because I have to. The food is terrible. Our waitress was terrible. And the location and cleanliness is terrible. None of the cooks were wearing gloves, the bathroom is out of paper goods and the floors are dirty. Avoid at all costs!

Everyone saw us (servers and the manager) and still left us at the front, waiting to be seated. It took 20 min to get our food and the burger was overcooked and the fries were bland. My chili dog was mediocre at best. Our server Scott was amazing! And the only positive thing I have to say about this place. There was a point where we noticed that there was no manager or servers around - out of the six people that were working there. Only a lonely cook was at the grill. Overall, it was a lackluster dining experience. Find a better place to eat!

  • Nikki G.

Service sucked, took about 15 minutes for coffee that tasted like warm coffee grounds. Their fries were just ok, very bland. We will not be going there again. Would much rather walk all the way to the food court or down to dave and busters.

The service was nothing to woo me; The bacon cheese fries proceeded to soothe me; The staff, they did croon; Aretha Franklin's tune; And we made it in time for our movie

This is quite possibly the worst customer service experience I've had since moving to Nashville a year ago. When our fries were cold they removed them and brought them back with what appeared to be same cold fries with extra cheese. We didn't complain then just waited for remainder of food. Then my daughters chicken sandwich was RAW. We sent it back and asked for it not to be replaced. Brought us check and said they removed item. No apology, no mention of issue. We asked server if we could speak with manager about issues. As sever told manager (who was young girl) the manger replied "I'm working I don't have time to talk to them". I approached manager to expressly displeasure about her not "having time" to speak with us. I can say with absolute certainty this place will never receive another dollar of my or my family's money. Absolutely horrible. Someone should teach a customer service oriented course for this place.

Great food, great shakes, great music, great fun! Visited here for lunch last Wednesday. Had a great experience. The very cherry shake was delicious! We really enjoyed watching the staff dance to the music, would have loved to work at a place like that when I was younger! I had visited a Johnny Rockets in another state and did not have a good experience, so I was skeptical about trying this one. I am sure glad I did! The service was a little slow, but overall a good time! Will definitely visit again!

Food here is nothing special - burgers and fries are okay. I do like their apple pie a la mode but I do have a sweet tooth so I'm biased. What makes this a fun place is the location. Instead of being in the food court, they are just right in the middle of the mall. So you sit and watch the shoppers walk by. Almost like being at a street cafe, except it's climate controlled.

We were seated promptly but then felt forgotten. The waitress finally came and took our order. Drinks came, then the fries came. A while later a couple of burgers came out and I waited for mine. And waited... I wish I could rate the food but the waitress forgot to order my burger. The fries were OK and the water was cold (trying to say something nice). The kids seemed to enjoy their burgers. I then paid $35 for two burgers, cheese fries and three regular fries and drinks. Never again. Buyer beware!!

Service stinks. Only one seated at the bar but no one paid any attention to me. Some more people came in and waitress waited on them. I left without eating and with no plans to ever go back to this place.

Ok. I have never felt compeled to write a bad restaurant review before this one. This place is horrible. One violation after another swirling thru the place. There was food, napkins, creamers, straws, you name it, ALL over the floor. A young lady came to bus and clean the table next to us, while standing on 3 crumbled napkins and a smashed creamer. This was all left behind after she "cleaned" the table. There were 9 other tables in the place, and at least that many staff members, lazily standing around, looking dumbfounded at one another. The restroom was a mere step above a port-a-john. Paid $40 for 2 burgers, a kids plate, fries, onion rings and 2 milkshakes. Sadly, this place has potential, with it's 50's diner theme....but, do yourself a favor, and spend your $ elsewhere.

It's nestled in the mall between other restaurants and retailers, other restaurants you would easily pay $25 per person at, and we've found when the other places are busy and the wait is 1 to 2 hours (Friday Night) and you give up on trying to dine at one of the many other places. The visit start off a little rough with a clueless hostess, not able to manage the line (Where was the manager?) Food is pricier than normal, but it's Opry Mall, and really not that bad. Service was very very good. Must compliment them there ! I can't say enough good things about the service once we did sit down. The place was packed and the staff really was very upbeat and the guests had smiles on their faces. Would have gone to 4 stars if first contact at the host stand would have been guest friendly.

We really like Johnny Rockets. Best service we have had in years. Great fries and the ice tea was spot on. We had a wonderful fresh crispy chicken salad with ranch, Was so good we ask for two more forks so we could share. The "the original hamburger" was cooked perfect with lots of lettuce, a nice slice of tomato and a sweet onion slice that could have been thicker. We shared a large fry and the trick with the "smiley" plates is just fun. We didn't try any fancy burgers but did order a chocolate shake and it was way to sweet and runny. As I like to say "Stick to the basics". Yes if we are in Nashville we would go again.

I have enjoyed eating at other Johnny Rockets, but not this one. Horrible service! If I wanted to be ignored I would just have stayed at home. I can not comment on the food because after a hour we still had not received it and they were not that busy.

Hello yelp! Community Today I went to Johnny Rockets with a friend and was surprised to see there was no wait time. Normally when I'm shopping around Opry Mills I see this very long line at the door wrapping around the restaurant. We were seated within moments after being greeted by a smiling waitress that was very nice. The staff here were very attentive and always made sure we were doing okay, a plus for me whenever I eat out. After we ordered our food it took about ten minutes for it to get to our table, hot and fresh. The reason I gave this place four stars is because it was a little overpriced. A 20oz drink should not cost $2.29 and kids drinks (even iced tea) should be free, my friend's little girl got one and it was $1.30. Now, I'll just say that I do understand food cost and so on, but really I'm a big believer in kid's drinks being free and kid's meals being cheap. Now, the kid didn't get anything of course because Johnny Rocket's have good-sized fry portions for at least two people to share, let alone a mom and her baby. Overall, it was a great visit and my only qualm was the price of everything. It's typically a fun place to go and I see myself going again, but I think that I'll seek out a Steak n'Shake next time. yelp! on, yelp!ers

Service was slow, unprofessional, and the restaurant was dirty. On top of that we waited long for drinks, cold frys, and a less than ok burger. The restaurant was not busy at all at the time and while we waited we watch workers just " hanging out". I don't normally post reviews but this was bad enough for me to warn others!!!

The only reason for two stars is I really liked my burger and shake. They have some serious issues with their service! Two waiters for the entire place during dinner! We waited... And waited ... And waited just for someone to take our order. Then waited some more for our food to arrive.

Tried Johnny Rockets for the first time today. My visit was very Mediocre, not terrible enough for me to say I won't be back. But, not good enough for me to say that I just have to come back sometime soon! First let me say our server Raven was alright. She was nice for the most part, however her attentiveness was a little bit of hit & miss. I asked her for a refill on my coke, but she never came back with it. My husband ended asking another male waiter to refill it for me which he did. Then we waited awhile for her to come back so that we could pay our bill and go. And again, someone other than our server came to collect our money. I will say she was nice enough to have some more sweet potato fries sent out to me, because the portion they sent for me was more like a kid size serving ( see the pic I posted). I would also say, some of the servers aprons, hats, and shirts could stand to be replaced. I had the Chicken Philly also and it was pretty good! I wasn't expecting for it to come on what looked like a hot dog bun (check out the picture), but it was still really good. As I said it was not a terrible experience, but it was just alright! Maybe, someday I will go back and give Johnny Rockets a second chance!

While walking through the mall trying to figure out what to eat we settled on Johnny Rockets. Having always mildly enjoyed theme restaurants I had my hopes up for this one. The man who sat us was in dress but had tattoos of freaky clowns on his arms which wasn't very professional, the young lady who sat us, named Syd, was very professional on the other hand and served us very well. The food is very much like what you could get at Sonic at very reasonable prices. We had the fried onion rings and fried pickles for apps. The onion rings were alright but tasted like they had been frozen but they were passable. The fried pickles tasted pretty fresh albeit the ranch dipping sauce we were given to go with them tasted nothing like ranch and exactly like tartar sauce. Wanting to try something different I ordered the soy burger. When it arrived it was a good sized sandwich and the "burger" tasted really quite well. It had a good consistency and tasted very close to the real thing. During our meal r-e-s-p-e-c-t by Aretha Franklin came on and the music turned up loud and all the employees made a big show of singing and dancing to the song. Although it seemed well rehearsed it was very fun and created a good atmosphere. The man with the strange clown tattoos wound up being nice, and quite a character during the show. I'm not quite sure about their claim of being "the original hamburger" though altogether Johnny Rockets was a great dining experience, great pricing and good food. I would certainly go again and would recommend others to do so as well.

Terrible service! And what's with paying over 4 bucks for a tiny plate of sweet potato fries. Also lost my appetite after seeing the table being cleaned by the filthiest towel ive ever seen. Cant see myself returning to this johnny rockets again which is a shame cause i liked it before the flood!
