First off, "Fresh Authentic Grill" doesn't mean anything. Is the grill fresh? What is really authentic about a restaurant that has curry, chipoltle, and alfredo sauce on the menu? Wraps! Rice bowls! Pasta! Chopped Salad! This whole thing feels like a concept dreamed up by a corporate food supplier with an overstock of sauces and chicken thighs. That being said, the food is not that bad. I have taken advantage of their generous grand opening coupons and had a decent rice bowl with chicken and beans as well as a salad that I actually would consider "fresh". Their "wrap" on the other hand was a hot mess of a burrito gone wrong. Without the discount from the coupons I am not sure I would ever eat here on a regular basis. If I had dropped $12 for my "chipoltle" chicken "wrap" like the gentleman in line behind me I am not sure I would be as amused while writing this review. Sure the grilled chicken thighs are okay and you can actually get a decent meal if you plan it out right, but if you always feel like you are kind of getting played when you eat somewhere is it really worth it?

Underwhelmed. That is the only way I can put it. The first visit was for a chicken wrap, the coupon I had was for 50% off, really can't complain. It was very bland, lack of flavor, confusing layout. The workers there almost expect you to know how to order. Second visit/chance was for a pasta bowl with chicken. I was hopeful that it would taste better. Only to find that I was again underwhelmed and confused. The layout of the place is clean, however the process of which you get your food leaves something to be desired. It's almost like you are wondering what happens next. You are in control of what you want on your food, so the flavor part may very well be in my hands, I just felt as if something was missing. Given my experience I almost ask you to check it out yourself to get what I mean. Working downtown, this place is maybe a twice a year visit. Plain and simple, much like the food. $10 for pasta/chicken

If you're downtown and looking for fresh and healthy without breaking the bank, this is your place. They have kale, quinoa, spinach and brown rice, lots of veggies and the cucumber water is free! Vegan quinoa bowl is awesome with cilantro lime sauce. I work downtown and have searched and searched for reasonably priced deliciously healthy and I've finally found it. My new favorite lunch spot!

Don't really comment on these things but I felt like this place deserved more than a two! Some people are just hard to please!! Anyway, it's really like a four. Friendly people, decent food. The chicken was a tad over cooked, but otherwise it was good. Gave it a five to boost this star rating up.

We had lunch there. I can say everything was very fresh which is a good thing. The young men behind the counter were nice and friendly and did make suggestions on what to get. It was rather odd there was no grilling going on but that is okay. If you want a meal that is lighter and you are downtown this place might be for you.

Loved it! I have been here twice and both were delicious visits- i had a supreme salad the first time and a bowl the second. I will definitely be back!

I met my mom here for lunch as she works really close and is always looking for healthier food, or at least what she thinks is healthy. It was dead when we got there, which is never a good sign. But thankfully we were able to ask questions and not be rushed as it was our first time there and we did have a lot of questions. The concept isn't anything new. It isn't anything better. It seems really pricey, I think adding almost two bucks per add on (but not sunflower seeds! Do a lot of people order those?). So I decided to order a Greek combination and have it as a wrap as opposed to a salad. It wasn't okay, not good or bad. My mom made her own wrap with everything she would have ordered at chipotle. Brown rice, black beans, lettuce, cheese, and onions. The place did pick up with people working downtown popping in. But I doubt anyone would go out of their way to go downtown just for this, like they would other places. It was $20 for our two wraps without drinks. This seems pretty high for something fast and unoriginal. It most certainly wasn't anything fresh or particularly healthy.

The staff was so nice. You can't find a place with nicer employees. But the food was awful and kind of expensive for what you get. I basically got a bowl of chicken and rice with diced tomatoes (and no drink) for $12... It wasn't good.

I went to Grillit and waited for about 10 minutes in a short line only to be told they did not have pasta ready to go. After waiting a few minutes, they told us it would take even longer. I was in a rush, so I left. They were unprepared and the food that was available had clearly been sitting there for a long period of time. They have a cool concept and a decent environment, but the service was apathetic and unprepared.

Well... Not much nice to say other than that the employees were very friendly. The food was borderline inedible. The concept isn't clear. The decor is plain. There are lots of choices downtown. Go to any of them except this one.

Like a typical tourist, I found this place close to my hotel. Wish I had checked Yelp. Don't waste your time or money on this overpriced crap. Nice employees, horrible bland food that is far from fresh. I predict it will close very soon.

Disclaimer: The staff was nice so I feel a bit bad writing this This was without a doubt one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. First off, when we arrived they were out of chicken. Fair enough, I'll get some steak for my bowl. Well not really fair enough because how do you run out of chicken?! But I thought to myself "oh well they cut the steak right in front of you, it must be good!" Boy was I wrong. I could've replaced the steak in my bowl with the rubber from my shoes and wouldn't have noticed much of a difference. It was flavorless, slightly cold, and far from tender and juicy. I think McDonald's could make better steak if you asked them to. Then we have the rest of the bowl. Well the rice (yellow) was ok, but as to be expected pretty cold. Lettuce was meh. I got the "peppers" which I thought were banana peppers but they were quite flavorless. Oh and I also got some garlic cilantro sauce. Yucky!! I'd rather have some ranch dressing from a high school cafeteria than that. And as much as I have ripped this place, I haven't even gotten to the worst part. I paid over $11 for my bowl and a fountain drink. Are you kidding me?! Look it's tough to make it out there, but when you're trying to be like Chipotle either make your food better in quality(it's far worse) or make your prices lower. Ugh this was just an awful experience, and I would not recommend it at all. CMAN OUT

Super friendly employees. They serve over-priced, nasty food. I work a block away and really wanted to like it when they opened. The steak is perhaps the lowest quality I've ever had in a restaurant--tough, gristley, and inedible. The place is pricey as well. I'm guessing three more months until they are out of business.

I like to eat "healthy" on the road. I'm sick of chain restaurants that have over salted food that is cheap. This place is the opposite of that however It is not expensive! It is reasonably priced for fresh cooked food. If they are out of something they are more then happy to cook more. The flavors are great. Many options for those who like to put thought into what they eat. There are "suggested combinations" of flavors that are good (chipotle chicken) but if you are dull and want to "order by number" of a combination meal then this place is not for you. Give it a try. It is worth it. Definitely book marking this place for next time I'm in town.

I didn't go to Yelp before randomly coming across this place and for once I'm okay with that (normally I wouldn't go into a place with a 1.5 star review). The gentlemen who helped me with my order was as nice as it gets and made a small sample of a rice bowl for me to try before I placed my order...it was delicious so I proceeded to get the chicken rice bowl. A healthy portion of rice, black beans, chicken, cilantra, lettuce, small bits of tomato, cheese and a chipotle mayo sauce was piled high and given to me to go. The Yelp check in offer provided me with a free fountain drink and the total was $7.24...tax included. Its a lot of food! I finished half and was plenty full. All the ingredients are made fresh and there are no microwaves in the restaurant (was told this by the worker as he prepared my meal). I found it delicious and wish there was one in Charleston, SC where I live.

The food here is SOOO good!!! The flavors are unlike anything I've ever tasted at any other restaurant. The employees were easily the nicest people I had ever met! GO HERE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

OK, so let me say first off that the staff was nice. That's really the only reason there is a star here. The staff is nice. The food is overpriced, unimaginative, and unappealing. I was going to hit up Oscar's right across the street, but the line was huge, and I was in a hurry, so I figured I would try this (relatively new) place. I should have taken heed when I saw that "extras" like pickles, craisins, peppers and other decidedly non-premium "add-ons" were $0.79 extra each (or 3 for $2, like that makes it any better). Want brown rice instead of "yellow" or white? That'll be $0.79 please! Want noodles instead of rice? $0.79 please! Want whole wheat noodles instead of plain? $0.79 more, please! I glanced down the main menu a little bit, and without the add-ons, you can quickly hit $10 for a basic bowl depending on what kind of meat you ask for. Oh, and there is also a "large" size, which doesn't seem to be much different. Not sure what you would do with all of that rice, anyway. They have salads and wraps, basically the same thing, just with less rice, I'm sure. If you don't want to fork over extra money for the "bonus" items, your bowl options start out at $6, with chicken, beans, rice, lettuce, shredded cheese and diced tomatoes. Oh, and you get a squirt of sauce. Don't be fooled by fancy names like "Garlic Cilantro" and [something something] curry, though...they are all basically just Ranch dressing. They make it all "Fresh" by pulling a pre-grilled boneless skinless chicken thigh out of a warming pan and chopping it up "to order." Whee! I'd like to see the tortilla folders over at Chipotle try to chop up a chicken thigh! This thigh they gave me tasted fine. It tasted grilled. Nothing fabulous, certainly none of that juicy fresh contrast you get from an actual, freshly grilled piece of meat. I paid for my food, and hoped against hope that the sauce was amazing, and that maybe the yellow rice was as good as something you'd get in an indian restaurant, or that the chicken had some of what a grilled chicken thigh can have when it's good. I got a boring, mildly smushy, mildly chewy, saucy mess. Imagine you're at a high school cafeteria, and they are trying to "recreate" the Chipotle experience for $1.26 per student. Imagine you're back in school, and they are pushing bad pizza and "salsbury steak" on you with sides of bland over cooked vegetables and not much else. Now imagine that you had to pay $10 for that same meal. A lot of people apparently got 50% off coupons, etc for this place. I wouldn't eat there if it had been $3 for my entire meal. I would walk across the street and order one single carnitas taco and a Juaritos. I should have braved the line at Oscars. Lesson learned. Don't make the same mistake I did.

I walked in for lunch and they said they ran out of chicken. It says CHICKEN on the front of the building! I ordered something else instead, and the kid asked if I wanted anything else on my bowl. I said I'd take some cilantro and onion. He put the tiniest pinch on top, I'm talking 4 or 5 cilantro and onion pieces. Then charged me 1.50 for "extra toppings." I don't know why I didn't just walk out.

On my periodic walk through downtown, I stopped in this place today thinking it was still Quizno's. OK, well, sometimes my powers of observation leave a little to be desired. But when I saw that they had rice bowls, I decided to give it a try, seeing as how I like Chipotle pretty well. For $5.99, I thought I got quite a surprising amount of food. No, the appearance didn't knock me down, but neither does it any place else that offers similar fare. I took it back to my office and ate while I continued working, and I have to say that the food was quite good. Good flavor, texture, and everything was cooked the way I like it. The staff was very friendly, even though I told them I thought I was walking into Quizno's. As long as they maintain the same level of quality, I'll go back, and recommend it to others.

Poorly managed. Mediocre food. everything tastes the same. Confused staff. Limited menu. Everything looks like its been sitting for hours. Nothing fresh about this place. Sadly, I give this place less than a year before it shuts down.

we were out wandering and came across this place around the corner from our hotel. What a great find. My girlfriend said it was the best darn salad ever! I loved being able to make my own big salad. we are here for a week and will be back!
