Okay... Living on the West Coast (San Diego), we don't have a Golden Corral close by. So whenever I come home to Tennessee, I always get excited to eat at certain places. The Golden Corral "was" one of those places. This was my 2nd visit to this location in two years. The 1st time this location FAILED miserably on impressing me. However, I'm all about 2nd chances which is was given tonight. Yet once again this location FAILED. First this locations cleanliness (the inside of the restaurant) is embarrassingly poor. It doesn't matter if its the front counter, the dining area, the bathrooms, or the buffet itself the cleanliness is poor. Quick note: Cleanliness in the restaurant industry is paramount, this "should be" common sense. Second this location was also poorly stocked. Half of the dessert menu was missing (either broken or something), not to mention the food itself was NOT appealing. Now for record, most of the food tasted great, but appearance wise very poor. Now the staff oh boy, even though my server was great. She kept our drinks plentiful, and cleared our used plates quickly, and she took pride in her job, which she deserves special recognition because she's the reason why this location didn't get a zero, however the cashier (didn't EVER smile) and the back of house staff, seemed to be more into each other, rather than paying attention to the customers. Here's how, the gentleman on the grill was cleaning the grill while listen to his headphones during business hours. The young lady on the seafood station was on her phone whenever she assumed no one was paying attention, and the rest of the BOH staff were enjoying the show the grill master (the man with the head phones in) was putting on a little concert, talking about how he's a rapper. Listening and performing TI's "What you know about that". This is absolutely unacceptable, considering the MOD (Manager on duty) was actively involved (playing along) with this type of poor professional behavior. "C'mon Man", how about a little attention to detail PLEASE? In my opinion, "attitude reflects leadership", and in this case, on this night 3/26/2015 this Golden Corral location either needs new leadership, the ENTIRE staff needs to be retrained, or worse case scenario REPLACED. I say this because the staff here (except for my server) doesn't seem to have any PRIDE in their establishment or their jobs. This is very disappointing considering the money spent here, the possible potential & reputation for this brand is, and especially because this is a food service business. Whatta shame this is. Well that's it for me on this one, "Until next time America"...This is Big Sid out.

Had a concern with the service last time at this establishment, called customer service and quickly received a return phone call from the store manager John Michael. At the managers request went back a 2nd time the manager in charge at the time was Martin. I would like to thank both the managers for a job well done, as they say 2nd time around is a charm.

This place does not even deserve 1 star. This place is a disaster. Don't waste your money. Terrible food terrible service. The food containers were empty. No clean plates or silverware. No refills. Awful visit. Won't be back!!

Envision being served by the Walmart greeter.... I tipped her $20 because i was horrified that someone if her advanced age and obvious grace was waiting tables in a buffet style restaurant. The salad bar was disgusting. Bell peppers were sliced an inch and a half thick with the seeds still attached inside. The tuna salad looked like it was swimming in an ocean and the mystery meat made me want to go eat the diced bell pepper!

I have a couple of friends who love this place so much that it's hard to get them to go anywhere else. So I come here a lot. One friend like the portion size (infinity), and the other gravitates to the comfort food. I like the variety. With the challenges of running a buffet for the masses, this restaurant does a good job. The salad bar is big and very fresh. The whole time I'm there, I see employees behind the salad bar endlessly chopping up fresh vegetables. After that, I take small portions of a lot of things. I like the fried shrimp, baked fish, bourbon chicken, mashed potatoes, and especially the cheddar biscuits. I like trying different things, and some are pretty good: asparagus (before it sits too long), brussels sprouts (not as horrible as I remember from my childhood), fish tacos. The steak is hit or miss. Avoid: meatloaf, mac and cheese, taco meat, and, believe it or not, their calamari is rubbery. Service is usually prompt. And despite other reviews, I've always found this place to be clean. Tonight I saw one server, Leda, do a remarkably thorough job cleaning tables. But if you're looking for a health code violation, just watch the person at the cash register put ice in your drink. They'll ignore the ice scoop in front of them and scoop up ice with your cup. All day long, they grab cups with their germy hands and then stick the now-germy cup and their germy hands into the ice. And sometimes operate the cash register. By the time they scoop YOUR cup into the ice.... I've complained to the manager, but the same thing happens next time. This bugs me, in a microbial sense.

This place isn't as bad as most American restaurants! Lol ... It actually surprised me. The fried chicken was extremely juicy " needed to be a bit seasoned but still good " and there's also the honey sesame chicken " pretty good as well " the bacon was paper thin but passable. Their new egg sausage burrito wasn't all that , mainly due to the type of cheese they use , same goes for their Mac n'cheese

Absolutely vile. This location was one of the worst I've ever been to. There was human feces on the floor in the male restroom according to my boyfriend, and menstrual blood in the women's restroom all over. Also, neither sink in the men's restroom worked. The food was absolutely repulsive. My 10 year old son, who NEVER complains about food in quality (he's pretty much a garbage disposal) took a bite of their cottage cheese and said it was rancid. The food was of awful quality and none of us ending up finishing our meals. Their ice cream machine was broken, also. This place was over-crowded with loud, obnoxious people and unattended children who pawed at the food using their bare hands. The only compliment I can give is to our waitress. She was a very pleasant, older, Mexican lady whom we very much adored. I hope for better things for her in the future.

Not usually a big "buffet" person. BUT, there are some days when I just want a little of everything. I honestly have to say that the only time the buffet is any good is when the "GM" is there. They have some younger manager who's just lazy and likes to chit chat the whole shift that be works. I am sad to say that the buffet is 50% of The time LOUSY!

Wtf? No Sunday brunch? Seriously? I realize its not the cleanest restaurant in the world where most of the staff runs at about 45 watts but how do you miss this concept? Honestly when I eat here and look at a lot of the clientele I realize why the US has a weight problem. The only redeeming thing that would be awesome would be a Sunday brunch...

I've been here before, and the place is a disaster. On a normal day, they're barely able to figure out how to function properly. On Thanksgiving, it's basically a refugee camp. They can't get people seated properly; they can't keep food in the buffets; they can't bus tables; they can't keep drinks filled. I heard one of the staff say they were busier this year than last, but that's not an excuse. They advertise carved turkey, but when they don't have another turkey ready for a half-hour after the last one is carved to the bone, that's bad planning. If you have to go out for Thanksgiving, prepare for a nightmare in general, but this place is worse than most, even on normal days. Too bad.

I've read all the reviews and my wife and I arrived a little dubious for our granddaughter's birthday celebration. 1) This IS a bustling busy place - definitely not casual dining. 2)The food that my wife and I had was pretty decent for the most part. Not perfect but for the huge quantities they have to cook up I was ok with. 3) Service was pretty quick, refills were taken care of in a timely manner and our waiter/server was courteous at all times. 4) I did not have the option of checking the restrooms so I can't comment there. Before we left the people were lined up further back to get in and the servers were looking harried to say the least.

I had all but given up on finding a decent buffet since the economy crashed back in 2008. Ever since then, every buffet we've tried has been edible at best (including my beloved Dyersburg Ryan's which has long since closed). That's why I'm so excited to have tried Golden Corral! We went at lunch time and the food was fresh and delicious and there was so much to choose from. I wasn't expecting much based on previous reviews and was pleasantly surprised to find such a good buffet experience. This is now my buffet of choice in Nashville.
