Way below average. When we approached the buffet, there were barely scraps available meaning a lack of freshness that proved evident later at the table. The guy that wrote the long and creative commentary with good ratings must have been high as a kite and confused this place for somewhere where the proof is in the food and not the jello. The best part of my experience was the company I brought. I took a photo of my plate just in case I ended up in the hospital, at least they would know what I ate.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Decided to try this place after seeing it had a pretty good review on here. Big mistake. I'm not picky at all, but this is hands down the worst Chinese I've ever had. All the food (the very little that was out anyway) tasted like it had been out for days. The staff wasn't that great, either. I certainly wouldn't go back & wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. Stay away!

In the increasingly competitive food world of Asian fusion, China Buffet does something special, balancing a global menu with rot gut performance. For a small price, Chinese staples such as General Tso's chicken, vegetable lo mein, and beef and broccoli make an appearance on plate after plate. Don't get too full though, because your trip around the world also includes Italy, (cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks) and Mexico, (these taco things that I'm pretty sure are actually frozen empanadas). At China Buffet, you truly can have your cake and eat it, too. Did I mention that they have cake? China Buffet excels at high-brow low-brow, warranting a trip to the edges of Sylvan Park.

Just a below average Chinese buffet. There are many other Asian buffets in the Nashville area that are better.

We randomly stopped in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Although the space is old and worn it has very good food. The selection is decent enough to make everyone happy. The food isn't quite labeled correctly, so you can find yourself guessing is that General Tso or Orange Chicken. Service was good and the price was more than fair. I'd return

My wife and I love oriental food, usually buffets so we can sample. This is the worst thing that has happened to our marriage. There wasn't much of a selection, some of the items dried out and old (AND this is at 4:15PM, shortly after the dinner items should have been placed out fresh for the Dinner Buffet). To test this, always look at the cheese on the slices of pizza--this is the best giveaway at any buffet as to freshness. Some of the items were cold or bad, some were mediocre. The food that I did like were the creamy crab item, and one of the shrimp items that was similar in prep, and the tapioca pudding. But the other 9 or 10 items I had sampled were lacking, especially the soggy, under-cooked tilapia. I mentioned to the server during the 1st of 2 plate helpings that the food is old, dried or cold, and the manager blamed the air conditioning vents, not for the attempting to keep alive the spoils. My wife even laughed hysterically as even her dessert continued to worsen with each bite, which helped the customers behind us enjoy their meals a little better. We tipped the server, because it wasn't her fault, besides maybe giving us crushed fortune cookies.

Food mediocre but inexpensive...fair selection. Waitress very nice. The lady working the cash register was very unpleasant to my children. Gumball machine ate their quarters and she told them it wasn't her problem!

On the bright side, you won't get food poisoning. The food is too overcooked to allow bacteria to survive. Downside, it's not great. Tastes like it's been out for days. But the cream cheese wontons are fantastic. Probably not coming back though.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
