Used to live in the Nashville area and whenever I go back for a visit I always make sure to stop by the BIG BANG! From good ole rocky top, to Elton John, alllllll the way to Michael Jackson and everything in-between these guys can play anything. I'm always amazed at some of the songs they play while I'm there. It's a good crowd and a relaxing atmosphere, and they don't allow smoking. If you've never been before, I promise you'll have a good time!

This is a good time.. a novelty, if you will. If you need mindless entertainment for an out-of-towner, Big Bang is a solid choice. However, the bar isn't spectacular and you are going more for the "show" than the drinks or crowd (typically tourists and bridal parties).

I love this place. Sometimes. Sometimes I leave after ten minutes. Sometimes I pay cover. Sometimes I don't. I've never figured out the times they charge cover vs. the times they don't. When it's "on", it's an outstanding piano bar with a great crowd, great atmosphere, good bartenders, and great music. When it's experiencing difficulties it feels like you got all dressed up for a date and get there to find out she's a Sasquatch. I have to give it four stars because I almost always try to make a stop in there when I'm barhopping downtown, and I'm usually not disappointed. One of my favorite games to play is "stump the pianist", which can be hard to do when they have the A-Team out there. I recommend giving it at least a look if your bouncing around town. Go with a good, fun-loving group and you should have a blast. If you hit it on an off night, you'll at least hear some fun songs and maybe see someone being publicly embarrassed for daring to have a birthday/bachelor/bachelorette party there. Drinks are reasonably priced and the outdoor patio is a great place to people-watch as it overlooks Broadway.

I really loved this place! I love the fact that it is smoke free and the crowd that hangs out there aren't red neck and the crowd seem to be a good mix of all ages! The musicians were really good and very entertaining. Their drinks were great! I think I paid $6 for a mix drink which isn't horribly priced and my husband's beer was $5 for an import.

The Big Bang is a pretty cool little piano bar place on Broadway. It is usually packed to the max with tourists and the Broadway crowd. I had never really been to a piano bar before, but it was rocking. They had a band that consisted of just a piano player and a drummer. Needless to say it was rocking, the piano guy was standing up and playing behind his back, pretty awesome. There were definitely a lot of theatrics going on in the show, so that leads me to believe it might be a place that really caters to tourists, but I had a good time so I don't care!

This place is a great location to kill an evening in Nashville. Most of the pianists know a lot of newer music, so be sure to place up interesting suggestions so you don't have to hear "Don't Stop Believing" and "Piano Man" as per the request of the slack-jawed-local-yokels.

The Big Bang is a great place for someone looking for something different on Broadway. With fantastic dueling pianos, you can be sure that you will hear just about every classic rock or country song played by the end of the night. If you want to request that something be played, and want it to played in any sort of immediate fashion, be prepared to shell out some money (at least $20). The guys on the dueling pianos are if anything masters at getting people to shell out cash! Seriously though, it amazes me to see the kind of money that drunken frat boys will throw down to hear their school's alma mater sang. Last time I was at the Big Bang I witnessed at near hour-long battle that ended up reaching around $250 a song, that showcased almost every SEC university fight song known to mankind. The drinks are about the same as any another other place downtown, but it can be a really great place to do something different for the night.

Had a great time. Some people on here are complaining that their should be more seating, but the owners know what theyre doing. If anything it should maybe be more high top tables, but take away chairs. The only complaint I have is that the audience on this particular night was lame. The performers are amazingly talented and they do a good job entertaining, but its hard to entertain people who come there to sit on their phones.

Been going to the Bang since they opened the first one in St. Louis. After only a half hour or so, the impression one gets is that these musicians know most every song composed from the past two centuries. Their competence while doing the standard piano bar setup and moving to the small band format is entertaining to watch. They are all wonderful singers to boot. They work very hard to try and get to every request made each night and their patter between tunes is quite funny. The food is quite good. The Rock 'n Roll Salad is a favorite of mine along with the pulled pork sandwich. Being a non-drinker, I'm not one to pass judgment on the beers and what seems to be a well stocked selection of mixed drinks. I know Coca Cola owns Middle Tennessee, but a cold Pepsi would better suit my taste. The concept of the piano bar is not new and, nationally, there are other brands out there. However, I find The Big Bang Bar to be one of the good ones whose staff really does take care that a good time is had by all.

Exactly what you want in a piano bar. Dark, good service, extensive repertoire of music. Tons of fun. We were here for my sister's 40th and they were great about bringing her and us up on the stage to sing along to our request. We had an awesome time!!!

  • Dawn B.

I brought 11 girlfriends to the big bang for my bachelorette party. We had an awesome time! The musicians were so talented and interactive. We had a wonderful time and definitely recommend that people come here for a bachelorette party or other celebrations or just a fun night out with friends. The drinks were a bit expensive, but they were delicious and strong and I would love to go back!

Amazing, high energy music and entertainment. Tons of tables and easy access to two bars as well as frequent table service. Drinks reasonably priced and served quickly. Music taken by request - how is it possible they know so many songs?? Our requests were never played but we heard many other great renditions of country, R&B, pop, and so much more. Most impressive when bar staff participated in dances or even singing/performing. Awesome experience!

  • Chelsea B.

Great live entertainment! Wish there was more room for dancing, though. The pianists get better as the night goes on. They also can play multiple instruments. What talent!

I usually love a dueling piano bar, and I figured being in Nashville there should be some great artists here. That said, this is more set up like a concert with rows of folding chairs facing the two pianists. It was a bit uncomfortable, and just plain awkward. I would have expected more of a lounge/bar feel where the pianos were part of the entertainment, not the sole purpose of the establishment, to the point they did not even invest in cocktail tables. And, they did not play our request despite the $5 tip. I will stick to the country music bars next time.

The Big Bang Bar is a Dueling Piano Bar, that never dissapoints! From the comedic, original perfomances... to the best bar tenders, this is the place to go any night of the week THIS PLACE FILLS UP FAST THOUGH If you want a table, you HAVE to get there EARLY!! It's standing room ONLY by 8:00 pm When we go, we get there around 6-6:30pm on weekends (Which sounds very early to be starting out for the night, but you can spend COUNTLESS hours in this place and not even know it) We go early, get us a table for the night, get some food and drinks, and wait for the fun! *TIP-- HOLD ON TO YOUR TABLE! Make sure at least one person remains at the table at all times, or someone WILL take it. (It gets that crowded) Also- new one in the Boro. Will have to check it out since its a lot closer to home

  • Jennifer H.

Meh. The drinks were okay. It was nearly empty when we got there and started to fill up later on. So go early if you have a big group or want to get a good table. One musician was pretty good, one was slightly annoying. We made two song requests and paid $5 for each but neither one was played. We had a lukewarm experience so ended up leaving and finding somewhere else to go. It definitely felt like an older crowd and some of the music selections reflected that as well.

Always look for piano bars when traveling. This one was fabulous! No cover, inexpensive drinks and the entertainment was fantastic. A few drunk people made it a bit annoying for awhile, but after we spoke to the waitress, a bouncer got it under control. We sang aloud for 2 hours. Incredible piano players, great mix of music (not too much country)..,eclectic crowd. Will definitely come back next time we are in Nashville!

In general, my husband and I aren't big bar people, especially in downtown Nashville. We're just not into overpriced, watery drinks, loud music, smoke and obnoxious drunk tourists. The Big Bang, however, is one that we often frequent whenever we're downtown enjoying dinner or hanging out after work. We've never been into the place when there ISN'T a huge crowd and a happenin' vibe. Despite the crowds, we can usually find a seat with a good view, and the waitstaff is quick and attentive with our drinks. If we can manage to arrive before about 8:30pm, there is no cover charge, which is awesome. After that time, cover is $6/person - not bad at all for the entertainment you receive while there. Drink prices are a little steep, but not terribly unreasonable, and the bar staff supplies a heavy pour. The entertainment is the real reason you should visit The Big Bang. The dueling piano players are AWESOME and incredibly talented; each plays the piano, bass, and drums in addition to rockin' the vocals. They are versed in many styles of music and play to the masses - whatever is requested, in any genre, can be performed by the band (especially if the request is made alongside a $20 bill). You can and should tip the band members, who work incredibly hard for their money to put on the best possible show night after night. We love the energy and vibe of The Big Bang, along with the friendly staff and patrons. It's easily one of our favorite places to catch some great music in Nashville!

Walking down Broadway in Nashville this is a place you could easily walk by and never know it was there. Just a doorway leading up to the second floor venue. Big Bang is a great name because you get a lot of bang for your buck. If you don't know how Dueling Piano bars work, You write down a song on a piece of paper and give it (with a few bucks) to one of the pianists and they play your song. These guys are talented! They also from time to time have accompaniment from a drummer or guitar player. This is now by far my favorite place on the Nashville strip. Waiters and waitresses also sing and dance in between taking drink orders (they do a great job at both) Sadly they weren't open on Sunday (even they have to rest) but if you are in Nashville you need to check it out. Cover is just $6 after 8:30pm, drinks are well poured and fairly priced. Get there early for a good seat!!

I would love to give 5 stars for the amazing show and extraordinary talent, but my server was less than amazing. I practically had to be him to bring me and my husband another round. The musicians where absolutely wonderful!!! I had a awesome night and a lot of laughs.

Came here for a 2nd time last night. This place is so much fun. There are people of all ages. Many people come in groups to celebrate various things, mainly bachelorettes, bachelor parties, birthdays...you get the idea. The bar is big with many tables. there is a bar with bottled beer and cocktails. There is also table service. The musicians are very talented and switch from one instrument to the other. They take requests and will definitely play your song for $20. If you are looking to get away from country music and the honky-tonks (I don't know why!), this is your venue! Go to the Big Bang for a lively experience...highly recommended.

This place is so much fun!! Great music and awesome musicians. They play a good variety of music and $20 gets you whatever song you want to hear. No cover on Friday, but a $6 charge on Saturday.

This is a great option downtown. We got there right before they started charging cover which we were happy about. This isn't a huge space and all the seats full up quickly. Even though we didn't get a seat, there was plenty of room in the bar area. The bartenders do a great job getting the drinks out fast. Did I mention they are soooo reasonably priced? 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers for only 20 bucks. The dueling piano players are extremely talented. They knew tons of songs and do a great job keeping the energy up with the crowd. They play a mix of old and new and everyone is singing a long. If you're looking for something different to do downtown, then definitely check this place out!

LOVED this place. I was visiting Nashville for a short trip and had a local show us around the bars in the area. This was definitely the best one. We stopped here first, and ended up coming back again to end the night. There are two pianos set up facing each other, which two pianists play duets all night. If you want the artists to play a song, you give a tip and request the song. The request sheet is actually blank - I was really impressed with how many different songs the guys knew! I really loved how different the genres were from song to song. It went from country to hip hop to rock and everything in between. The only downside is the selection of beer is not great. There were probably about 10 options of beers, bottles only. Not bad selections, but just not a large quantity. I got a Newcastle, I think it was 5 bucks. I didn't really mind though because the place is so cool it makes up for it.

Dueling pianos excellent, all 8 or 10 of them. Worth every tip they get. Its Nashville for Gods sake what's not to love about the place, its talent, restaurants, hospitality. I truly hate to give a 'negative' but here goes. The wait staff......ok that's about it. Not too friendly, I'll leave it at that. I visit at least 3 times a year and hope to continue doing so. Well worth a try when on Broadway St.

This is the answer to, "Where should I go as a tourist in Nashville when I don't like country music?" There really was something here for everyone. The performers really knew how to play to the crowd and I didn't see a single request stump them. Their jokes bordered on semi-innappropriate, but that's my style, so it made me love them more. The crowd was a little older than most other places we stopped, which is a nice change if what you are really after is to sit and chill while listening to music. We stopped in for one drink. We ended up staying for several hours.

We noticed there was a cover charge as we were walking up, we quickly turned around and started walking away. They said forget about the cover and just come on in and check it out. Man this place was dead. Must've been an off night. We ended up grabbing a round of drinks and grabbed a few tables for the group. The band was pretty good, played a mix of genres and songs. We decided to leave after a few songs ... too many other places we wanted to check out on Broadway.

I LOVE this place! Such great entertainment and energy! I've gone before with my husband, my parents, friends and co-workers. Each time everyone has had an absolute blast. The musicians are very talented and even their awesome bartender, Kenny rocks it out when he jumps on stage to sing and play the drums. ....If you are looking for a fun, unique experience on Broadway this is the place to go!

  • Lauren V.

We came here on a whim after seeing a show at the Grand Ole Opry. We were planning on just grabbing a drink and heading out. We ended up staying for four hours! The guys on the piano were unreal, for lack of a better word. We were rolling laughing and singing. There wasn't a beat missed in 4 hours, they just kept alternating pianists. We went on the night of the Alabama versus Auburn game, and the dueling pianists were taking cash for dueling the school songs. It was fantastic. It's a very crowd interactive scene. The bar service was very quick. And drinks were cheap and strong...

The Broadway bar scene is definitely not my thing on a Saturday night. I don't know what I was thinking. Perhaps if Broadway were shut down to vehicle traffic like Beale Street in Memphis or Bourbon Street in New Orleans, I'd have liked it a little better. The problem is, I don't like overly crowded bars, cover charges, smoking, or music that is too loud to hear the person next to me. Okay, now that I sound like an old lady... Big Bang was a god send! Even though it was very crowded, we managed to find 2 stools (and a table!) and we were served immediately. We each had a beer and enjoyed the dueling pianos. They did an awesome job from beginning to end and really put on a stellar performance. They got the audience to interact. Even the "security" guards got involved in little side shows of their own. And of course, they recognized all of the birthdays and bachelorettes in the house. They didn't give attitude when someone requested a song they didn't want to play, they were good sports and put on a fantastic show. It was a great way for us to relax, have fun, and get away from the crowds outside. We didn't pay a cover charge, but there was a bathroom attendant. Sorry, but I refuse to tip someone who hands me a paper towel and squirts soap in my hand. I am able to do those things myself, and I shouldn't have to pay for it just because you removed the paper towels and soap from the counter. I know some bars and clubs have to do this to keep their bathroom from getting trashed, but Big Bang doesn't appear to attract a trashy club crowd. Besides, I only went in the bathroom to blow my nose!

Been here for 1 1/2 hours and having a blast!!!! Should be 20 stars!!!!! Music is awesome. Can not describe how great. Funny. Perfect sound. Great entertainment. I need more stars. A must go to in Nashville

Kenny the bartender was great. The piano players were also amazing!! However your waiter was not so great. It's wasn't even busy when we went in. It was a Thursday night. Not friendly at all. Not on top of getting your drinks. I walked up many times to the bartender just to get another drink. When the waiter did come over he expected a tip. You had maybe 20 people in the bar dude. Wouldn't want to see you on a busy night.

I was pre-disposed to love Big Bang because it's just like one of my favorite spots: Pat O'Brien's Piano Bar in New Orleans. Except that there's a cover (only $6, well worth it), the booze is cheaper, every woman in the entire crowd is married (unless they are the bachelorette), and the guys on the piano are younger, and funnier, and will basically play anything. We heard a lot of country classics, some Billy Joel, Janis Joplin, and some 80s hits...all songs you'd probably expect from a piano bar. But they also rocked out with very decent versions of songs by Eminem, Kanye, Lady Gaga and even threw in a Conan reference or two. The bartenders were fast and friendly and get up to dance on stage every once in a while, all in good fun. The piano players are the stars of the show though; these guys are definitely talented, and they know how to work the crowd. Bohemian Rhapsody brought the house down, and Proud to Be An American degenerated into a chant of USA! USA! USA! All I know is that you haven't lived until you've seen 18 drunken louts* dancing together to fun. until one of them faceplants. And a good time was had by all. ___________ *Yes, they're with me.

Only wish we had found this place earlier!! Our goal was to just stop in for one drink at the different bars on Broadway but when we found this place we spent our whole evening there. Great music, great staff. Everyone from the door guy to the bartenders are musically inclined. Get there early for a good seat!!

This is a must see/do whilst in Nashville. There is nothing like this where I'm from and to my knowledge, anywhere else though I could be wrong. Beers are cheap, they do food too. The vibe is very, very cool but not too cool for school. You can sit back, drink your Bud Lime and just chill into the atmosphere; Two guys playing piano opposite each other, accompanied by a band. Are they any good? Does Dolly Parton have big boobs?! Yes, they're good. In fact, they're great. Talented and skilled musicians who've got their job down pat. You want live music in Nashville? You've got it. A mix of tunes from all genres, they'll give anything a go - if you request and tip them. Remember, they're starving musicians and have seven kids to feed at home. If you're generous with them, they'll play anything... But seriously, this is their bread and butter and if you don't tip you're an ass. Don't be p*ssed if they don't know the whole song, it's impossible to know every song. They may know another song by that artist. Whichever the case, they'll make it fun and have a laugh about it. The higher the tip, the sooner your song gets played. $20 gets yours on next. I wish we'd been able to tip more. We couldn't be too frivolous with our cash unfortunately. The banter between the band and sometimes bartender who gets up to sing a few is brilliant; funny, slick, cheeky. So you get a real mix of entertainment. As I said, drop by for a bottle of Bud or two and see for yourself. We spend about three hours there because we couldn't bring ourselves to leave wondering what they were going to play next. Awesome.

Attended this bar on a Saturday night, and the place was definitely full of entertainment. These guys are seriously SO talented-- as most play all the instruments as well as sing, NOT to mention pretty much know every single song the crowd asks for. For me (as I am not into huge crowds or the typical dirty bar scene) this was an excellent stop while in Nashville. Actually went here with my boyfriend and it served as fun, but chill bar date night. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and were constantly asking if we needed anything. Also I liked how this bar was cleaner than a lot of the others and the staff was constantly cleaning up used cups, etc, so things would not get too messy. If you come to the Big Bang-- definitely expect a good time and lots of laughs!

This place is great. You can laugh for hours while the musicians entertain you with witty jokes and songs. Very talented staff that helps out with some songs the way. Never been disappointed with the show but the drink prices are a little steep.

I was once a frequent visitor of the big bang, until the last experience I had there. I ordered two rum and cokes for me and my girlfriend. However, mine was missing the rum part. I noticed this upon first sip, it was only coke. I'm very understanding and get that during busy times people can often be forgetful. So, I politely informed the bartender that my rum and coke was missing rum. The bartender had the courage to question my judgement on this, then took my glass, took a sip of it. I wouldn't be giving this review right now had he simply just made me another one without questioning the customer. I wouldn't go to this bar unless you want to put up with bartenders that treat customers like 3rd class citizens.

This place is awful. The food is disgusting. Nothing was fresh all frozen. I had the chicken bites and could hardly get through half my meal. Most of my friends felt the same about their choices. Would NEVER come back. Way better choices in Nashville. Our waitress was awful. She lost my friends debit card. Awful!!

So, wait. I can have a mash up of Bohemian Rhapsody and Tenacious D? I'm a fan for life. I have no idea how this is one place on Broadway that we can always find a table. No matter how crowded it is, a table magically appears. It's also not that hard to get a drink, even during peak hours, so that solidifies it at four stars. Sometimes there's a cover charge, but usually not. I haven't yet worked out the bar's algorithm for cover charge vs. date and time but will let you know when I do. The piano players are always funny and really do play requests, especially if you tip along with said request. You're certainly not going to get craft cocktails, but you're not there for the drinks, you're there to here a hilarious rendition of dueling college fight songs followed up by Elton John and Usher. These guys are musical geniuses!

I honestly don't remember much of this place. I don't remember paying a cover. I do remember sitting out on their balcony and having a drink put in front of me courtesy of my sister, or my friend...I'm not really sure. I think you can tell my state at this point but I do remember having a sense of fun in the place. Hold on folks...okay my sister has confirmed that we did not pay cover. Okay, 3 stars cemented.

I wish this place met our expectations. A group of 21 of us headed down to Nashville from New York to celebrate a bachlorette party. Our first two nights in Nashville were amazing so we were super pumped for a piano bar. The place is very awkwardly set up. It's just a bunch of tiny tables, crappy chairs and the pianos are not even on a nice big stage. Oh well. The guys playing sounded great so we didn't mind. Our waiter was MISERABLE. He was not even remotely nice or friendly. Not sure if he works for tips, but he was rude. They poured me the wrong drink. When I told him, he just looked at me and walked away. No apology, nothing. Don't expect much from their menu. The queso dip is cheese whiz and bagged tortilla chips. Gross! Also, we got ripped off. We put up $35 to get our bachlorette on stage. After seeing numerous birthday people get called up for $10, I finally asked the "security guy" to ask the piano player. He was no help. I put up another $10 and another slip to remind them of our bachlorette. At this point, the piano men had switched shifts so I asked the bartender for a manager. The manager said "they must have lost your slip". Well, they didn't lose our MONEY !!!! $45 and not one shout out to the bride. Such crap. The manager did not want to help at all other than telling us we can come back later for no cover. They let a huge group leave unhappy. There are TONS of places in Nashville that were a blast. I'm mad we even wasted a couple of hours in this place.

Big Bang is a must-go while on Broadway! Although I haven't been in a dueling piano bar before, I'd have to say that it was definitely an entertaining way to spend a Saturday night. The talent here, like that of every other bar on the row, is amazing, but add a bit of comedy, crowd interaction and music from all different genres is what makes this place stand out! One of the musicians, Justin, played the piano, guitar, drums and was a crazy good singer. Where else can you find that kind of talent? I've been to a few bars on Broadway and although they all were fun, the Big Bang stands out among the rest and let's just say I'll be back!

If you're looking for a great, unique night out with friends, this is definitely the place. It's CRAZY crowded by 9 pm on weekend nights; so, arrive early if you don't want to be standing awkwardly in the way of everyone. The lines are pretty long, too, to get in, but they move rather quickly. Every piano bar in America should be ashamed compared to the quality in Nashville. These guys are amazing. Seriously. The dude who does all the fight songs of every school in America...crazy astounding! Check 'em out with a group of friends. You'll love it!

This was my favorite bar in Nashville - which says a lot about me, I think, namely that country music is not my thing! If it isn't yours either, then make this place your home. We had a DAMN good time here on a Sunday night, no cover, place was crowded but you could still get a table and drinks fairly easily. They had three pianists, who rotated so that they could take breaks and/or play the drums. Most of the piano players were young and cute and funny, but all were extremely talented musicians. They were making everyone laugh all night, and they could turn ANYTHING into a great piano song. I was singing along all night! Yeah it's mainly pop music, some current, some 80s/90s, but let's be real - I love that stuff. And these guys could turn Baby Got Back into a piano song! That is impressive! $20 for a request is pretty steep, but I imagine drunk people are willing to do it. I didn't feel the need to request anything since their whole song list was like putting my iPod on shuffle. There's plenty of honky tonk and country on Broadway. If you need a break from it, go here. You won't regret it!

One of my favorite places in Nashville. Great entertainment no matter which decade you born in (I think you have to be 18, though, to get in). Get there early for a table or go after 11:00 if you want a packed party atmosphere.

This is simple - If you are a member of a bachelor/bachelorette party or looking for a place to embarrass a bride and groom after the wedding, this is your place. In all other situations, run far away. I've been to The Big Bang in both of the above mentioned situations and it's a decent time, but nothing spectacular. They will get the bachelor/bachelorette/bride/groom on stage and make them do something embarrassing (read: sexual). A recent wedding I attended ended up here for the after-party and the bride and groom were asked to perform "head, shoulders, knees and toes," which then turned into "head, shoulders, butt and boobs" for the bride and "head, shoulders, crack and sack" for the groom. Very amusing if you know the victims, not interesting if you are just watching strangers. The drinks are pricey, and something will likely get spilled on you since most of the patrons are full blown sh*t shows. This is also one of the few bars with a cover - $6 or $8 i think?

I knew I'd made a mistake as soon as I darkened the doorway. The doorman was hanging out with his woman, concurrently sexing her up and snarling at all those foolish enough to walk up the stairs into... emptiness. Really? On a pre-weekend night... on 4th and Broadway... empty. Ladies and gents, that says it all right there. Foolishly, I walked into the belly of the beast, pulled out a chair, took a deep breath, began to sit... and then the pianos started. Country-kitschy versions of pop radio began to flood the hall and... No. Just, no. I may be playing the part of a tourist, but I am a former resident and a son of Kentucky. I couldn't do it. I couldn't sit there and pretend this was alright. Not to take anything away from the pianists. I am sure they were very talented. This is Nashville. You can't swing a g-string without hitting a musician. But, this was not the music I wanted to hear. Truthfully, I doubt this is the music they wanted to play. I made eye contact with some colleagues and we made an executive decision to move up and out. It was our last night in Nashville. We needed some certified NashVegasness. This was not what was up. I never even took off my coat.

Fun spot for a ladies night out. The piano players are cute and funny. The crowd can get a teeny tiny bit obnoxious...unless you're a drunk college kid, in which case, you are so gonna love this place! A little dancing, a little laughing, decent drink prices.

Well, when Miller Lite is 2-for-1 on a Thursday night we're all domestic winners.... ...and right after slinging my ice cold bottles across the bar with a sparkly smile, the swift guy jumps up, runs behind the drums and expertly croons Cee Lo's "F you" uncannily, whilst beating on the drums expertly. Not gonna lie, I sung along. Fun place, cheap beer, touristy, but...hey...when in Rome. Drink Miller Lite and listen to Cee Lo.

I came here with a bachelorette party. The bride and maid of honor get in free which is nice. However, there are so many better free options in downtown . . . I was promised that if I tipped heavily and indicated we were with a bachelorette party, the bride would be called onstage. Two hours later, I demanded my money back. No drink specials Saturday night. And the pianos never dueled. Skip this place. You can do better.

Thank God not every bar with live music in Nashville plays only honky-tonk country. Big Bang is an awesome experience. They have two pianos (and at least one of them appears to have hydraulics--haha), a drum set, and an electric guitar with rotating band members that somehow have memorized the lyrics and chords to every song imaginable. Seriously, I really wonder how they could possibly remember all of the songs they are asked to play. The musicians are also hilarious, always adding comical notes in between songs...or even during songs...and finding excuses to embarrass (all in good fun) birthday girls/guys, newlyweds, soon-to-be-wed, etc. This place really knows how to keep a crowd and get them hype. There's usually a cover on the weekends, but it's worth it. Live entertainment and fun. If you haven't been here before, you really need to check it out. And if it's your first time, you definitely need to put down some money and request a song--because it's great!

3rd time here and the pianists sure know how to work a crowd. Freaking awesome with a dat, but tough to pick up chicks. Just sayin.

A friend was having his birthday celebration at The Big Bang so off we went to the land of honkytonks and tourists to celebrate it with him! So this is a dueling piano bar. For the very limited amount of people that may not know what that means, two pianos face each other on stage and the pianists play songs together. Many of them are funny with made up words and whatnot, but anything can be requested as long as they know it. If you get up in the middle of the song they will heckle you. If you are a birthday celebrant or a bachelorette they will embarrass you. I did notice that these guys keep it a bit cleaner than ones I've been to in other places...I could have used a bit more raunchy fun and games because that tends to be funnier to me. This place was also different in the fact that they had a bass and a drum set on stage and during one song the two piano players that were NOT playing the piano picked up the bass and drums and it was like a full band was going on. The place was packed when we were there and we had to wait in line on the sidewalk just a bit, but once inside we were able to score some chairs near the stage anyway. The patio is what kicks this up from 3 to 4 stars for me - it had plenty of open seating and it overlooked lower Broadway and all the lights and action that goes along with it. Fun! I really can't say that I would be clamoring to go here on the weekends but I would definitely come along if others wanted to go.

Stumbled upon this place and had no idea what to expect. Two guys play requests from the crowd. Everything from Happy Birthday to Bohemian Rhapsody. It was a great time and we stayed much longer than we thought. We had a great time! I would definitely recommend it. I will be back.

This was one of the first places that my friend Katie and I stopped at on our random Nashville trip. We didn't know where to start as we were overwhelmed with the ridiculous number of options. We stumbled in here and went upstairs into a large dark room with two pianos and a bar. Katie and I were really confused when we got here as no one gave us direction on where to sit or where to go. We stood around awkwardly for a few minutes and kept asking people where to go until finally one of the bussers took care of us and made sure that we got a good seat and got service. Once we finally had our order taken, Katie and I split the sampler plate with tortilla chips and salsa, buffalo chicken wings, and chicken quesadillas. All were fairly good for bar food. The chips and salsa were standard - a little spicy but good. The chicken quesadillas were also pretty good, probably my favorite out of everything. I was the most excited about the wings but was probably the most disappointed in them. Overall, typical bar food...you get the point. Onward to the most important part...the music. Despite the fact that this place was completely dark, the piano guys were awesome. They kept switching out in shifts and some were visibly better than others, but I was super impressed that they could play every instrument! They played some great songs throughout the night but I have to take away stars for the slow service & the really dim lighting. But definitely a fun spot! I think there are some better places to go downtown but this place is different than the rest and worth checking out!

Wow! Best date night started with a BANG for sure. Great place, I will be bringing any and all house guests here. Just hope that one, or really any penis type song does not get requested when I bring the parents. That happened to the people next to us...ha ha awkward for them funny to us.

I had a great time. My first time at a place like this I didn't know what to expect....classical or just a guy playing a piano. Well let me tell you I was wrong it started off with 2 guys on different piano playing one song then going right in to another. They interact with the crowd about songs and requested songs. If you want your song played TIP them. they also break into a full band and the drinks were priced right. Overall a great time cant wait to got back

I was in Nashville for a week at a conference and our group decided to go out on the town. After hopping around to several downtown area bars, we found that the large majority of them had live music. Mostly guitar players and singers, in any other location this would have been a welcome event. But I must be honest there is only a small portion of country/country rock that I actually enjoy. A few of us broke away from the group and ended up wandering into The Big Bang. It was a great choice being quite spacious. Most of the town was kind of quiet due to a hockey game, but the piano bar had a decent crowd. The place actually got backed after the game let out. I really enjoyed having multiple pianists. This gave the place a good rotation and variety of musical styles. Another interesting point about this piano bar which I haven't seen in the Baltimore/DC area was a full band set up including drums and guitars. This brought the songs to a whole new level when the group got together. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in town.

Let's begin this review with a simple Q&A: 1. Are you a member of a Bachelorette Party? A: Yes - proceed to The Big Bang. No - proceed to next question. 2. Are you a fan of standing around awkwardly in crowded spaces while drinking expensive, watered down drinks? A: Yes - proceed to The Big Bang. No - proceed to next question. 3. Are you a fan of cover charges and being ignored by waitstaff? A: Yes - proceed to The Big Bang. No - see below. If you answered "No" to any of these questions, it's probably not in your best interest to show up here, especially on a weekend. I've been here more times than I can count, but always end up with the same "Meh" feeling about it. I think the only way you can have decent experience is to show up by 8 PM with a group of friends, get a good seat/table, and stick around until the bachelorette parties get sloppy and start making fools out of themselves, which usually occurs around 10:30 PM. Other than that, it's not worth it.

While staying in Nashville my boyfriend and I headed downtown without a plan. The taxi dropped us off near The Big Bang dueling piano bar. We were laughing and really enjoying ourselves! It's not the first dueling piano bar i've been to and they could improve their establishment by actually dueling! Also they should place tip jars on the edge of the piano near where people can tip and entice one performer or the other. This was overall a good performance.

Garbage. If you have been to Howl at the Moon, Shout House, or Jelly Rolls you will agree that this place is simple garbage. I don't think I heard one classic style dueling piano songs the entire night. The use of guitar and drums eliminates the genre of dueling pianos. Sloppy bachelorette parties everywhere and cheep drinks made up for the craptastic experience.

Wish I could have stayed here longer. This was our last stop of the night and we were all pretty tired already from the rest that Downtown has to offer. From what I gathered this is the place to go when it's someones birthday, a bachelor or bachelorette party, an anniversary etc .... any kind of special occasion. It looks like a place that can be great fun when in a group. The music is great, they will play anything! The guys we saw on the pianos, not sure if its the same guys every night, were GREAT! Great personalities, great talent, and just a ton of fun. I would love to go back here and be able to sit in the front and put in my requests! Big plus ** the waiters, bus boys, and security guards get into it too and dance and play along .. it's great! if you're shy, you may want to go somewhere else!

My husband and his parents came to this bar one night while we were vacationing in Nashville. We went on a Thursday night and there was no cover, which was wonderful. When we first got there (8:30ish) is was kinda slow, but still fun. It really picked up once the bowl game that was being played in the area finished and a flood of football fans came in. The pianists were entertaining and definitely knew a massive amount of songs. There were two birthdays in the house that night and I can say that they definitely had fun with it. The only thing I didn't like was that their drink selections were somewhat low. They couldn't make anything frozen and our waiter failed to suggest any decent drinks for us since they couldn't make our favorites. It probably would have been more fun if we hadn't gone with my in-laws. They aren't too excited about crowds or loud music. But, overall, I would definitely go back with a group of friends!

When I first stepped onto Broadway in Nashville, I felt like I was in a different world. The Big Bang definitely gets busy on the weekends with everyone trying to request songs from Journey to Britney Spears. The musicians are pretty good instrumentally and vocally. During the summer they have a balcony that opens up to Broadway and is wonderful to chill out with some friends and a few beers. Word to the Wise: There's usually a $5 dollar cover, unless you come between a Tuesday-Thursday, I believe that cover is free, but don't expect a huge weekend crowd. And if you're a brave soul to celebrate your birthday here, get ready to have the band make a song for you...*cough* it's going to be a song mocking you but it's all for fun, right? Big bang's big drawback is the price of drinks, but if money isn't an issue. Drink to your hearts content listening and singing along with tunes from the 80's, 90's, and 2000's!

We totally lucked out by coming here on a Sunday night! The bachelorette really wanted to come here while in town but the line on Staruday was insanely long, and cover was 10 dollars. We showed up early Sunday night (about a half an hour after they opened at 8) and found prime seating right up front. Cover was free that night, and to top it off Miller Lite bottles were only $3 (not at all my fave beer, but it was cheap). The musicians were very talented and hysterically funny. Our waitor was also a riot and provided us with plenty of entertainment. Even if you are not a big fan of piano bars this place is a must-see while touring Nashville.

What a fun time. The performers were great. Want to hear a song......write it down and see what happens. They played everything from 2 Pac to Digital Underground to Tim McGraw. Very talented musicians. If your looking for a fun time and don't need a huge crowd to enjoy good music, then, this is your spot. Challenge the performers to play your favorite songs.....you will be pleasantly surprised.

I absolutely love Big Bang Bar. The only reason I withheld a star is because they are downtown, and I hate parking downtown. That being said, Big Bang Bar is a great choice when you are there. The trick is that you have to go on an off night. The performance level is just the same, but there's not some jerk willing to blow a whole wad of 20s to impress some girl and hear the same crappy songs over and over. There's also no cover during the week. My friends and I went early-ish on a Tuesday and were half the crowd. This meant we got to hear all our requests. The piano players have a surprisingly diverse repertoire, and appreciate customers who ask for better music than the norm. If you come when it's crowded remember the $20 rule: If you put down a $20 tip your song gets played immediately. This can be sucky for those of us on a tight budget. The cute brunet who had been playing our music all night on that Tuesday let us draw a picture of a $20 on a napkin under our Bowie request. Bless him.

Some people go to the Big Bang for the live music, some for the kitchy bachelorette and birthday parties, some to sing to their favorite bar tunes like "Sweet Caroline" or "Don't Stop Believing" and some go for the comedic antics of the musicians but for me I go for the quality people watching on both the staff and patron levels! We met some friends around 8p.m. when the place was just barely filled which was perfect because that meant no cover and plenty of tables for a Saturday night! There weren't any drink specials but I would recommend the long islands ($5 a piece). Already there were a few brides-to-be in promiscuous dresses adorned with tattered veils and feather boas (or my personal favorite from the night Mardi Gras masks). Did I see some characters though! For instance, this young man in full urban cowboy attire (I'm talking white cowboy hat with matching white button down with an eagle across the back) stood at the bar curiously chewing on a straw like a piece of hay. And then there was the frat boy who made his way into a birthday girls heart but initiating the awkward "only two people slow dancing" thing to a hip hop remix. Later through the evening, a potion of the staff actually gets up onto the pianos and dances to prechoreographed songs and you can tell by their enthusiasm the number of times they have actually been forced to perform! Simply Hilarious! I must say, the Big Bang facilitates an excellent opportunity for making new friends! Overall a good time!

I'm so confused how this place has such great reviews. I NEVER have to pay cover in Nashville. Typically bars will let females in without having to pay cover simply to attract more guys. Maybe thats why I saw no hot girls here-men take note. Now I wasnt turned off by this place simply because they have a cover of $7 per person. I'm fine with paying if I get my money's worth. However in my opinion, all of the other bars in Nashville seem much more fun (and theyre free to get into). The lead pianists talked entirely too much, and ruined some classic songs. Yes, they are talented; yes some of the songs were fun to listen too, but if youre a person that likes to dance, you'll be dancing by yourself. Everyone was sitting! Who likes to drink and listen to live music by sitting? Get up and have some fun people! Maybe I went on a bad night. Maybe I'll try it again if I have some friends that really want to go. But I left early, disappointed, and ready to go to another bar where people are actually enjoying being drunk. And yes, my night was salvaged by heading downstairs to Paradise.

The cover sucks, but it weeds out most of the freaks/homeless that are prevalent downtown. Lots of fun, many different types of people (ages 21-110), and the pianists put on a fun show. People usually come here for special occasions, or business events (when I worked for WF, they had an event here). Not your typical bar, and not really laid back. I still love it.... Oh, get here early, or you will end up standing around awkwardly and looking jealously at all the people lucky enough to have a comfortable seat.

I love the Big Bang-its a deuling piano bar and actually one of their lead pianoists is blind, which makes it even more amazing. It is in a prime location and always seems to bring in a cool crowd. In the summers, the patio seating is great. It really is a great bar. They always have specials during the week, which is when I mostly go. Always ask for Kenny at the bar- he is great and will give you the lowdown. If you know someone who is having a birthday, I would recommend bringing them there and asking the piano players to play happy birthday. You can request songs as well--be prepared to tip though as those piano players make more than probably any server! I remember one day, someone paid 200 bucks to play Rocky Top and an Alabama fan beat him out with 250 to play their anthum...it was crazy!!!

This is what fun is all about. Right in the heart of Downtown Nashville, there are lots of entertainment options these folks are worth the trip. We went in, the piano's were blazing the staff was great about drinks, the performers got everyone to laugh and there were so many great sing alongs they are too numerous to name. It does cost $15 to get in, but then its worth it. The night we were in here, there must have been 5 bachelorette parties - these girls were hysterical and the guys at the pianos did every request, even ours - although it took an hour that night to hear it, it was worth it. The performers improved and got everyone in the act, great time, great place and a great night.

  • Matt V.

The bar was reasonably priced, the service was OK. They had only four or five servers for about 300 people. They did their best though. The entertainment was obviously the attraction. The musicians were fantastic and if you looking for a good time in downtown Nashville, I highly recommend the piano bar. The best part is its a nonsmoking bar. You must go on the balcony to smoke, so you wont leave smelling like smoke.

    (4)
  • Megan C.

Big Bang is a great place to start a night in downtown Nashville. The deuling pianists can play nearly anything and take requests for tips. If you arrive early, then there is no trouble getting seating and it makes for a most excellent and entertaining hangout. The patio is great in the summer, and it overlooks Broadway so it's peerfect for people watching as well. And if you arrive before 9 pm weekends, you can sneak in cover-free.

Do you long to inhabit Old Rocky Top, located in the hills of Tennessee, where the air is virtually free of particulate pollution, and the telephone provider often fails to collect fees? You should consider this bar. So much fun. Two pianos, two players dueling for tips by playing competing songs, and a hundred drunken fans laying money on the stage. As the night progresses, you're likely to see $100 tips to play a college song, followed by $150 tips to STOP playing that song. It is utter insanity, and anyone interested in experiencing Nashville's night life would be remiss if they missed out on hearing Rocky Top at Big Bang!

We went up to watch Mississippi State in the Music City Bowl. This was the first place we went after the game and stayed the entire night. It was a blast. The music is great and they all have good fun with it. The service was also good. The place is really nice, clean, modern, etc. Definitely a lot of fun if you are in a big group or celebrating something like a bowl game victory!

Surprisingly fun. A go-to for the Bachelorette party. Bring a $20 to get the bride-to-be a song, she'll go on stage. Our party was one of the classier ones, but there were a dozen others that acted goofy and a bit lewd so that makes for a few good laughs.

What a great evening!!! I was just in town last weekend with yes, a bachelorette party, but the dueling pianos were a big hit!!! We had a group of 12, and our service was great and the entertainment was amazing!!! I would definitely recommend it for a big group!!! The piano players were very entertaining, and their range was incredible! I also want to give a gracious THANK YOU to the manager. One of the girls left her purse at the bar, and he woke up early the next morning to return it! Leaving that morning, we couldn't have waited until they reopened that night, so he was a life saver! Most people wouldn't have given us the time of day, so I just wanted to let the Yelp world know... The staff at The Big Bang goes above and beyond!! Thank You!!!

I was expecting a lot more... I like dueling piano bars, but The Big Bang plays too many poppy covers, does not include the audience enough, and does not have enough "home-grown" favorites. I was impressed that they had a full band for some of their songs, but unfortunately, that took away from the dueling PIANO aspect and brought them on par with any of the other cover bands on Broadway. I've seen better...
