After watching the compelling "60 Minutes" featuring the town of Murfreesboro, TN and its residents being upset about Muslims trying to build a bigger place of worship in the town. Needless to say, it went before the Supreme Court. The lack of class the town had put a SOUR taste in my mouth- enough to never want to stop through there ever again. Unfortunately, I drove to Louisville last week. I was getting deathly hungry. My Yelp app led me here, must be a newer one. I kind of keep track of WCs along highways, kind of my thing. Upon pulling up (mind you in rush hour), I saw it was attached to a gas station and was also combined with a Church's. Upon walking in (you have to go through the gas station) you could immediately tell the place hasn't been dusted in at least a decade. When I walked to the counter, I got some dirty looks again. Christ, was it the camo (I would sure hope not, since I was in TN), or the stache? Oh well- I ordered my usual- 4 double cheese, fries, and a big red. Had to get the order togo (let's be honest, I didn't want to be in there any longer than I needed to be) since my sis was in the car w the kid. Upon returning to the car, I tore my bag up immediately. Went for the fries first. If I had my choice between cow shit and that same batch of fries, I think I would have stuck with the cow crap. I was sooo hungry though. Next, time to eat the delicacies I get to eat only 1-2x a year. The actual sliders. Those tasted like shiters. They weren't even steamed. Some had pickles and onions, some had neither, one of them had one not the other. The microwaveable ones would have tasted better just thawed. Lesson learned- stay away from Murfreesboro like my original intentions, and tough out the hunger pains until I hit Bowling Green, KY (best WC ever) on my next road trip. I guess it's partly my fault for stopping here in the first place. Ew.

The fries were soggy and horrible. The fish slider didn't have tartar sauce on it. Any fish sandwich ordered anywhere in the world has tartar sauce on it. I don't know if that's how white castle makes them or if they forgot, but it would have been a lot better with it. I asked for bbq sauce to go with my chicken rings but i didn't get any. The burgers were good as always but the rest of the meal was an utter disaster.

I stopped in here yesterday ... It is a gas station location not much seating. They dont put ketchup on the burgers unless asked for or you need to watch them make the burgers

All I can really say is that this was a disappointment to both myself and my partner. I talked up the original White Castle over the southern Krystal's just about an hour before pulling off the interstate so no argument ensued when I pulled into the restaurant very near our hotel. This was one of those combo chain restaurants (White Castle / Church's Chicken) plus an adjoining gas station. The White Castle burgers weren't what I expected, sadly they were served cold and the Church's chicken my partner ordered was horrendous , greasy and also cold and stale. It was however served quick, which may have been because if it wasn't sold it would have been thrown out. This isn't the first time I have encountered this similar issue at chain combos. I'm afraid you can't focus on serving a quality product when different menus are combined. (KFC / A&W)

The burgers were their usual self - glad when we order, sorry an hour later. But for the couple times a year, it's worth it. No salt on the fries - so tasted bland.

I'm a White Castle fan... and this is the closest one to my house.... BUT, it's attached to a gas station and the next time I stop here I'd be better off grabbing some beef jerky and moving on... really bad, cold burgers and fries. So, maybe an off night, and I still give it two stars for all the good White Castle experiences I've had, but if what I had a few nights ago is normal, avoid this location! hit up the local Krystal instead!

Once upon a time I banished White Castles from my diet forever. It wasn't until I move to metro Atlanta and couldn't have them anymore that my fetish grew to epic proportions. I'm so crazy about them that in 2012 I drove four hours (242 mile) from Atlanta to satisfy one of my favorite craving... double cheese White Castles and onion rings. CAUSE AND EFFECT Oh, I'm gonna be sick, I know it!!! White Castle has a way of tearing my digestive system apart and reconstructing it... but it's a small price to pay for having my eyes roll back in my head after the first bite. This is the closest White Castle to my home by car, so it seemed fitting to review this location since we come here often. Now, I realize that burning almost two full tanks of gas and staying in a nearby hotel overnight is a bit... well... stooopid! (which is a whole new level up from stupid), but I freakin' love these little square burgers and the store bought microwave versions just won't do. The full enjoyment only comes from eating them fresh off the grill. These yummy delights are soooo good, especially when hot and the bread is a little soggy (that's right, soggy) from the awesome onion juices that steam up from the grill. You might say to yourself, "It's only 4 hours Richard, so why not just turn around and drive home?" Well, TWO REASONS: 1) I can only eat so many in one session (three double-cheese max), so staying overnight allows me to visit several times in a day. But the more important reason is... 2) Anyone who has ever had White Castle burgers knows EXACTLY why they call them 'sliders'... and it's not because they go down so easy! Eating 9 double cheese WC's, two orders of onion rings and one set of fries within 24 hours is truly a self-inflicted injury. It will surely be followed by the most violent bowel movement you have ever experienced in your life, very similar to the toilet scene from the movie Dumb and Dumber: youtube.com/watch?featur… You might as well set your bathroom on fire, cuz you're never gonna get the smell out! So an overnight stay at a hotel is much safer than driving home immediately. I am convinced places like LA could clear up their smog problem by adding White Castles locations throughout the city. A couple of million people with bad gas would certainly blow away any smog and change the atmosphere! However, it might make it difficult for planes to land with such rancid crosswinds. ------------ - - - - - A LITTLE HISTORY LESSON Founded in 1921, White Castles is credited for being the first fast food burger joint, first kitchen assembly line production, first to create standard uniforms, creator of the hamburger bun and first to have standardized methods so customers would be sure to receive the same taste and service at any location. They also took business to a whole new level by creating subsidiaries to make their uniforms, buns and meat supplies. For a while, they even manufactured their own movable, prefabricated buildings designed to look like Chicago's original Water Tower. White Castles was built as a model to cleanliness, which accounts for its porcelain white walls and surgical steel surfaces. ------------ - - - - - FINAL THOUGHTS Say what you will, but White Castles freakin' satisfies my soul.
