The Pfunky Griddle Menu

Ever since my wife was diagnosed with celiac disease I look at restaurants through a new filter. Some places just can't accommodate for celiac, and that's fair. Just tell us up front. Pfunky Griddle says "Oh yeah, we can handle gluten free"...and then proceed to do sort of accommodate. What you wind up with is everyone waiting while one person prepares their food, then that person either 1) eats before everyone else, or 2) waits for the rest of the party to prepare theirs. It's really not ideal. The reason for doing it this way is that they claim the gluten free griddle will trip the circuit if it runs at the same time as the griddle in the table. The solution, of course, is to hire an electrician to correct this. Alas, Pfunky Griddle is a place that our family cannot enjoy together.

The food is incredible, try the bacon! The staff is what really sells this place though. Keep up the amazing customer service guys! Oh and two words... French toast . mmmmmm

This place blows. If I burn my pancakes at home, it's my fault undercooked, I blame me. WHY DO I WANT TO COOK MY OWN when I GO OUT? It was ok, but amateur service, and aside from taking small children, I will stay at home to burn my fingers and screw my own pancakes up.

It was a great time with the family and especially fun for the kids!!! The Service was unbelievable, and were always making sure we were doing fine. My 7 year old son and 12 year daughter enjoyed it a lot and being able to cook their own food. Clean environment and nice atmosphere! The plate was a bit warm but typical if your going to cooking something on it. The separate costs for certain items of food made it confusing and maybe a simpler menu would make it easier to decide what to eat.

I didn't like it because I'm not going to pay to cook. I can do that at home for free. The pancakes didn't have any flavor to them. The box mix is tastier

Great idea! We ate here a couple of Saturdays ago on recommendation. Get there early. If you have to wait they give you a pager/buzzer and you can walk around the corner to the little day park with benches. Our kids ran around and had fun. It is a great place to take the family or out of town guests as it is a fun atmosphere. A little pricey but you are paying for the experience of socializing and cooking at your table. The kids loved it and I can easily see this becoming a favorite to do for birthday weekends. There are a lot of toppings you can order. I would suggest they become a little more generous with the toppings. You can have as much batter as you like. I'm on a specific type of diet and their whole grain pancake is delicious. I've been trying to find a similar mix in the stores but haven't found it yet. If they keep up the good food and service I could easily see this restaurant expanding into a bigger space. I would recommend this to friends and family.

First time trying out the new location in mboro. The place is very clean and nice. As usual you cook your food (pancakes, French toast, eggs, etc) they also have salads, soups, wraps and sandwiches if you're too lazy to cook (me lol). They also have gluten free choices!! Everyone should ask for Jessica! She is very friendly and will talk your head off! But she will not cook your food for you unless you give her 1 million dollars (yes that's an option on the menu). Don't forget it's ALL YOU CAN EAT PANCAKES!!

I was really excited to try this place as I had family visiting from out of town and kids in tow so I thought it would be perfect for them to make their own pancakes. I only glanced at the website quickly and noticed that their prices seemed reasonable (boy was I ever wrong!). After being seated at a table with 4 adults and 2 kids we ordered our food. The waiter was very young but nice and he did a good job at explaining it to us as it was our first time. After we ordered, he brought out tons of pates, which didn't really fit around the table. They should have a larger griddle table for parties of 6 or more because some of us had to wait to eat our breakfast because we all couldn't use the griddle at once. Also, the floor was sticky and I had to peel up my purse. It was a lot of fun being able to cook our own food, but the prices are ridiculous! It should be cheaper because we are doing all the work. My biggest complaint is that they don't have meal deals that combine a typical breakfast (i.e. two eggs, toast, hash browns, and bacon). On top of that they say that they have gourmet coffee but they were out of espresso and other flavors. The cups are also tiny and the coffee was lukewarm...very disappointing when you think you are getting excellent coffee (and you are paying the price of excellent coffee). It ended up being over $80 for 4 adults and 2 kids to eat breakfast!!! I think it is ridiculous that they nickel and dime you especially when you are cooking your own food! The price aside it was a good breakfast, but then again, I am really good at making breakfast. If you do go there I would study the menu and plan it out beforehand. If you had a kid that wanted to just eat pancakes and nothing else you'd be set. Just make sure they don't add any additional toppings because they will charge you for that too!

Very disappointed in this location. We've been to the one in Nashville and enjoyed it. This morning we went to the one in Murfreesboro. The bathrooms were nasty. The toilet seat was about to fall off, no paper towels, and Urine all over the floor. I didn't want to think about what the kitchen sanitation was like. Not a good experience.

Me and a group of coworkers went to Pfunky based on good Yelp reviews. We all had the same opinion ........ wished we would have gone somewhere with hot prepared food. Trust me when I say, some people in our group are not picky eaters. No one explained anything to us, even something so simple as we had to locate the on switch and turn on the flat top. How simple would it have been for the host or waitress to either tell us to do that or turn the flat top on for us when we were seated. the flat top is not large enough to cook more than 1 person's food at a time, particularly if trying to make an omelette or scrambled eggs, so no one is eating at the same time. Some items that come prepared are biscuits w gravy, toast, and bacon. the biscuits and gravy are cold by the time any other food is ready, and McDonald's has better biscuits for a lot less $. If you like Sage, you will live the gravy. the gravy is loaded with it. the bacon was cold, the toast was burned in the edges. The reason for 2 stars versus 1 star is the comedy of trying to figure out what order 7 people were going to cook and figuring out from their mistakes. There was absolutely nothing special about the food or ingredients. Additionally, the cost is comparable to what a person would pay for a meal at a Wild Eggs, Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel or about any other breakfast place you can think of.

My girlfriend and I absolutely love Pfunky Griddle. Not only are you paying for good food, you are paying for a fun and easy going experience. Great for morning dates. The staff is fantastic. Go!!!

First, just in case you don't know (we didn't), this is a breakfast version of The Melting Pot. In other words, you are paying for the experience of them bringing quality ingredients to your table and you cooking your own food. So, if you have the time and know how, this could be a great place for you. Unfortunately, while the ingredients were top notch, the chef (me) was not. If I'm going to pay a premium price for breakfast, I'd like there to be zero chance it's going to get messed up. I'm glad I tried it, but I probably won't be back.

We recently moved to Murfreesboro from Louisville and this is one of the first places we ate. I can say I will not be going there again. This place makes you cook your own food! Pfunky is right. This was definitely not the dining experience we were looking for. The pricing is like you are at a regular restaurant that cooks and serves you, but you have to cook yourself. At least you don't have to clean up. With a hot griddle on the table, I would definitely not bring my boys here. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I wish The Pfunky Griddle the best of luck in having this concept stick around for a while.

I came here with my family for my belated birthday breakfast. I love pancakes, and this was the perfect place for me! Plus, I don't have to deal with everyone's differing topping preferences! We came on a Saturday morning and didn't have to wait to be seated. I have a 4-year old and a 2-year old. As soon as we sat down, I warned them not to touch the griddle. My 2-year old didn't listen. Our server was concerned, but my little one was okay! My 4-year old loved being able to add her own M&Ms, and flipping her own pancake! I enjoyed not having to clean everything up! Our server was great, the batters and topping were delicious (I preferred the 5-grain batter with blueberries while my hubs and kids wanted the white batter), and the place was clean! And I loved their iced coffee!! This place is excellent for kids...and patient parents! I would definitely return for a special breakfast with my family!

We weren't sure what to expect, given the mixed reviews. I can say for sure that the food was good. The garlic potatoes with skins on them were really tasty, as was the white chicken chili. However, as newbies we would have expected a bit more introduction to the menu, using the griddle to cook our eggs and pancakes on our own, etc. Maybe they figured it should be self explanatory. Anyhow, the griddle would be way too small for multiple family members trying to cook at one time, so that was a drawback. Otherwise, it was ok. Not sure we will put this one on our "must go again" list, though.

Not really a fan...I went with some friends on a Saturday I ordered pancakes, eggs potatoes an Apple juice. So the pancakes are all you can eat and 1 free topping. You get a pancake batter dispenser of white flour and whole wheat batter. I chose apples for my free topping, they gave me a lil plastic cup of about 5 thinly sliced green apples. For the eggs, they give you 1 egg in a bowl it's like $1.00 a egg or so. For the potatoes it was a bowl of mashed red potatoes that were already cooked. They were seasoned good and it was actually a good amount. You could eat the potatoes straight from the bowl or throw them on the griddle for a bit. If you order anything extra such as cheese, onions etc it was like a extra .35.. Overall I just wasn't that impressed, I pretty much paid to cook my own food. I could've done this at my house. It wasn't all that good since the only real seasoning available was salt and pepper. Its an ok place if you're visiting for the first time and you want the "experience" so to say, I'm not sure if I would go back. Just not worth it to me.

The service was good but the pancakes were not light and fluffy. They were flat and not much flavor. Tried the French toast and it had cinnamon flavor but soggy in the center. The coffee was great! It's a great concept but quality of product is below standard. Will not return.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I was SO looking forward to a new breakfast joint in Murfreesboro! But, I just don't understand cooking my own pancakes at a high price. The service was slow. The pancakes were average. We had to constantly ask for refills. The coffee cups are the size of tea cups. (Hence, the reason we needed so many refills) I don't know.....to me, I could have bought a box of bisquick for $3.00, made a pot of coffee, and saved myself about $20.00. I understand this place is all about the experience. So, I'd definitely recommend going once, just to try it and say you've been there.

We are on a road trip and hate that most breakfast diners serve crappy low quality food. We thought we would give this place a try because they have gluten-free pancake batter for my manfriend. I got biscuits and gravy. It was fine. Not great, but fine enough. Resembled Bob Evans gravy and had that "restaurant gravy" taste. Bleh... All of the eggs and potatoes are "cook yourself" on a griddle in the middle of the table. If I wanted to cook my own eggs and potatoes, I would have eaten at home. I understand that the "cook your own pancakes" thing is supposed to be fun, but I think a breakfast spot should cook your eggs and potatoes for you, especially considering they are still priced the same, if not more, than eggs and potatoes at any other restaurant. The gluten-free pancakes were terrible. Very thin, very gritty and VERY flavorless. Gluten-free pancakes are actually one of the easier gluten-free things to make and we have had good ones at a number of places. Not here. We ordered the regular pancakes for our daughter, and the batter was super thick and chunky and gross. She wouldn't even eat them. She said they taste like flour. We got the "berry blend" for her and were super disappointed to find that the berries was a tiny cup of frozen fruit pieces. Yuck. The sausage was also low quality and reminded us of fast food sausage. Overall, this place kind of sucks. For the money and the effort, I would suggest going somewhere else or just cooking at home. **Review edit: I originally gave them 2 stars because I was trying to be nice, but the deplorable condition of the bathrooms was the final nail in the coffin. I wanted to vomit in there. Smelled of stale urine and dirty toilet. Gross.

Fun place to go with the family. Cook your food anyway you like it. I only have one problem. My over medium eggs are always busted when they get too my plate.

I was actually in town doing an errand when I came across this place. I had time to kill so figured why not? The service was very friendly and accommodating helping to explain the way this restaurant works. I think it's a great idea to have the griddles at the table because you know that each pancake is going to be served fresh and hot. All in all I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

Good food! We got the all-you-can-eat pancakes. The baby and husband loved it. Good toppings. It was very busy and service was decent. We will be back.

I was visiting a friend and found this place. I was so excited, because I am gluten free and dairy free and I rarely am able to have pancakes when I go out places. We did run into a few complications. I used the gluten free griddle and it didn't work right, so we ended up wasting a couple of eggs and a bit of time before we were able to make our food. Even then we had a few complications cooking (user error), but the staff was very friendly and happy to accommodate and provide more eggs as errors were made. I love the concept of the restaurant and the customer service was wonderful. I think some of details need some tweaking, but I absolutely loved the Pfunky Griddle. I wish there was a location in Madison, WI.

I have officially been here twice now! The atmosphere is great. I love the concept of having the griddle in the middle. It's like melting pot for breakfast. I know there is one in Nashville and this is not necessarily "new", but it's new to me!

Great place for breakfast. We went Sunday morning with no wait. I had the French toast with two eggs and sausage. My wife and daughter made their own pancakes with bananas, walnuts and Reese's Pieces. We cooked it all in the griddle in front of us. If I had to make a complaint it would be that we felt our server did not pay much attention to us. The griddle takes up a bit of table space so as you prepare your food you build up an abundance of dirty dishes. I felt smothered while I ate with no server to assist in removing the dishes. Besides that food was good and the bathrooms were clean.

Fun concept, friendly service, and the kids seem to love it; however, don't know that I would recommend it for a party consisting only of adults. Not unless pancakes are your thing. On a side note I would recommend the country bacon. Crisply cooked it was very good.
