I found the food to be fabulous and the service was very friendly. I would highly recommend this place four groups or for just a lunch during the week. You must try the Pollo La Loma. Best Mexican chicken dish I've had in quite a while.

Luckily for them, they are closest restaurant to our home and their food is decent. However, their service is absolutely terrible and never shows any signs of improvement. Please, someone open more restaurants near us!

My husband and I decided to try this place out since it was so close to our home. Never again! The staff is horrible and rude! The food was disgusting and cold. We sent all of it back and the waitress snatched the plate off the table and rolled her eyes. The chips and salsa tasted like watered down tomato sauce. The worst place I have ever been too. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody! It will not let me leave 0 stars so that's why it's a 1 star. It should be negative 5 stars.

Been here a few times and haven't been disappointed. Good food. Good service. Decent drinks and they have an outdoor seating area unlike many others on this side of town.

Blah! We craved Mexican food one cold and rainy night and it was close to where we live. Horrible service. The host didn't say anything to us, threw the menus on the table and walked away. The margarita was the worst I've ever had and the food was marginal at best.

We've been here twice. Sat on the patio both times. Had great service, and enjoyed everything we've tried. We'll be back!

Great food - great price! 2 dinners and a kids meal was less than $30. Food was very good! No wow factors, wife thought the rice was above average. Speedy, friendly service. Every server that walked by our table talked to our 1 1/2 year old child and tried to make him smile so very sweet people! Weren't hounded but came around often to see if everything was ok. Great dinner will be back again!

Fast service. Very clean looking restaurant. Food was good and very hot. I got the veggie quesadilla. Would visit again to avoid the crowds and noise at some other Mexican restaurants in town. Also there is free wifi.

Maybe we've just gotten lucky, but we've been to La Loma several times and have had great service each time. Staff has been prompt and friendly, and the food and more importantly margaritas have been great.

So we went to go to Publix and it was closed, so we stopped here instead. First when we walked in I noticed our waiter peering at us from a booth, taking a moment to rest, I suppose. When we were seated, he came out of nowhere and put our napkins down and greeted us. Then he just sort of stood there, so I ordered a drink. He constantly took forever to get to the table. We noticed wait staff around us hurriedly going to their tables multiple times, but our waiter appeared to be having an off day. He would either totally disappear (which is hard because it is not that big of a place-perhaps he was back in his booth taking a break), or we would see him conversing with a friend and looking very stressed out. I've had those days. But at this point I really just wanted to leave. Every time we needed something we'd have to wait forever to get it. The tacos were fantastic. The cheese and onion enchiladas were not what I expected whatsoever-cheese enchiladas with chopped up onion on top mixed in with the sauce. Not so great. But the beans, rice, and tacos were delicious. I would go there again, but I'd order it to go and I'd stay away from the enchiladas. Just my opinion. :)

Well, I guess I'll be the first to review the boro's newest Mexican fare. I would consider myself a decent judge of this style of food and I really wanted it to be great but...... It fell kind of short on a few levels. First off, although the salsa tastes good, they are a little stingy with it. Fill the salsa to the top and keep it coming, it makes the wait if they're busy more bearable. Larger glasses would be nice too, three sips and it's empty! Keeps the waitstaff too busy having to run back and forth to keep refilling empty glasses. On to the food, again, small portions! With so many options out there you have to be at the very least status quo. I ordered Tacos de Carne Asada, and it comes with three tortillas stuffed with Carne Asada, some pico degallo and beans. All three tacos combined were smaller than 1 at Camino Real, which by the way is the best deal going in the Boro. The food tasted good, was a little slow getting to the table but they just opened so this may fix itself eventually. I don't know if I will go back but if there is any advice I could give, it would be to up the portion sizes and keep the chips and salsa refilled more often and you will stay busy.

I have visited here with my boyfriend about 3 times. They always take a really long time to bring you food. Once I placed a takeout order and waited 45+ minutes on three tacos and a side order of rice. I didn't even get the rice, the lady had to give me a refund because they were out. The staff is super friendly but they seem to be consistently understaffed for the volume of business they get. The food is average or about the same compared to other places.

Ordered a ribeye steak and could hear them microwaving it. Came out like thin beef jerky. When I inquired about this the waitress just offered to "box it up" for me to take home. 17 bucks and the food was too disgusting to eat. Plus she never checked on us once. Considering we were the only customers there at the time. How is this place still in business? NEVER AGAIN.

I've been here maybe 5 times and I have never left "wowed". The food is not really that good. Service is slow; I ate by myself and ordered a taco salad and then had to wait nearly 45 minutes. I live in the apartments next door and the only reason I returned is because I could walk since y car is token down at the moment.

I've been here several times. Usually weekdays during lunch and by myself. Service here is usually fine and food is good. It's like Camino or most of the other good Mexican restaurants in Murfreesboro. It's also always very very clean. I have to brag on them today, though. I don't think my experience could have been better in any way. Someone opened the door for me as I approached the building, service was perfect and the food was great and super affordable.

Service was fine just a lot of tables for our waiter so hard for him to keep up. My food was not what i ordered. On the reorder the steak meat tasted spoiled. I did tell mgr and they did take it off our ticket. I left disappointed hoping i don't get sick plus I left hungry and will not go back. My mom said her meal was fine.

This place always disappoints, food is either just okay or gross. Service haha, they act like they are doing you a favor. Oh and be sure to check your account afterwards if using your card. Toilet water Margaritas.

My wife and I visited La Loma for a quick lunch today. This was a mistake. We have been here in the past and it has been fine. On the door, a sign stated "New Management". After being seated, we waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order. When my lunch Fajitas arrived, it was a sad portion. Go just about a mile away to Camino Real!

Went back a few months ago only because Camino could not accommodate my sons baseball team. Same ole slow service and mediocre food.

Meh. Its Mexican food and its cheap. I'd rather go to Camino Real but La Loma is often less packed.

A word to describe the place CONFUSED. The servers run around and argue with one another instead of focusing on getting the food to the table. They are very convenient to everyone coming in from Rockvale off Hwy 99. Food is decent, but with the slow and unresponsive service from their staff is not worth it. Would definitely travel the extra 2 miles to Camino Real or Garcia's off Hwy 96. La Loma is in a prime location, better get their act together soon!

My boyfriend and I decided to stop by this place at the last minute. We had been here a few times and received very questionable service but I really wanted to give this place a chance due to such close proximity to my apartment. Fast forward to our visit. We entered the restaurant and we're seated. The hostess who sat us took our drink orders. We asked about happy hour specials but were denied because it was exactly 2 minutes after that happy hour ended. This was understandable and we didn't argue about it at all(even though we saw two tables around us ordering from the happy hour menu at least 30 minutes after we got there). We knew what we wanted just a couple simple tacos so we put in our order with our drink orders. The hostess/waitress returned with our food and drinks. The food was very very bland and I didn't think you could mess up non taqueria style tacos but they did. Nobody offered a refill on drinks or anything. Our waitress avoided us as we sat at least 20 minutes after we finished our meal before flagging her down for a check and when we finally got her attention she told us that our waiter would bring our check. Funny thing is that she was our waiter and waited on all tables around us except us. I've tried to chalk this restaurant's bad service to them being busy or understaffed but we went when it wasn't busy and they are still very unorganized.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
