Food is wonderful , however we were not happy with atmosphere, layout of seating was open and no privacy and very loud (no music). It was crowded but awkward when asked to eat at counters bar area or open chef area. This was very awkward eating at 5 star restaurant looking at a half wall and watching everyone come in standing around in middle of restaurant waiting on tables. I asked my husband if he would rather leave then eat in bar area! He said no because it was our belated valentines dinner since we both were sick on valentines. I believe when u eat out and spend $100 for 2 u should enjoy the whole event.. Sad to say we will not go back for another special occasion!

Excellent food. Was impressed In this place out in Murfreesboro. The food has excellent texture, and the drinks were very creative. The service was sporadic, but overall a nice experience. Bit pricey though...would recommend to a friend.

No words can describe it. I really just enjoyed it. Great food, unique, trendy, fun. The only thing that would make it better is to have outdoor seating. I had the Mahi- Mahi. Perfect. My husband had the lamb. Perfect. We had the potato skins as an ap ( sounds boring, but topped with Salmon). PERFECT. I will def. be back. This is my favorite restaurant in Rutherford County.

This is by far my Favorite "Nice-er" restaurant in Murfreesboro. It's also, really the only "nice" one in Murfreesboro. It's a great place for a date. Menu is always changing and always delicious! Also they have a cheese plate and not a kids menu, get a babysitter so everyone enjoys the ambiance of this place. It is far to small for loud people or loud little people.

Wonderful atmosphere where everyone is considered a "regular". Hand mixed drinks from bar using a lot if house infused liquors. The food rates as the best I've ever had. Menu changes frequently & local produce is used. Encourage you to sit at the food bar for dinner to interact with the chef & team. It's enlightening & entertaining. This is a favorite.

Food is really good, just the right size. They also have a bar which let's you take your drink to your table when you are ready to sit. Would recommend. I am from NYC and this place is just as good as any place I have been to there. Will go again next time I am in the area.

Let me preface this by saying I have waited until my sixth year in Midd Tenn and fourth visit to Five Senses before deciding there won't be a fifth and to write this review. Only somewhere in Middle 'Murica would this count as fine dining. If you want to be taken for a ride in terms of prices and service, look no further. The food is average and occasionally creative, but the ambiance and lack of real panache robs you of the ability to concentrate on anything, however well prepared. The service consistently lacks polish. Feels like a hurried and inexperienced server at Applebees no matter who you get, and they are always distracted or even irritable. It is rushed, loud, with a poorly laid out and cramped floor. No intimacy at all, so makes for a bad date venue if you're looking for a cozy feel or one where you can even hear your date. The mains are heavily salted, and rely on potatoes and butter, but no captivating spices or presentation. The fish is usually well done but hardly worth the effort of having the server try to explain what it is. The cocktail list is imaginative and sound, and I wish I could recommend the bar on those grounds alone, but given its placement it hardly warrants a visit for that. Truly disappointing, but your money is better spent elsewhere in the Boro, not here trying to help this restaurant be something it isn't.

This place is worth your time. Unassuming location in the back of a strip center. Unimpressive decor, tables look like leftovers from a Champs or Applebees. But the menu was impressive! I had a skirt steak that was delicious with potatoes and green beans. Produce is sourced locally when possible. Tomatoes on the salad were worth the trip itself. Service was excellent. Portions were small, but I enjoyed every bite. In a big city this would get three stars, but Five Senses is a great restaurant that I will visit again when in the area.

Lunch here is great! I usually get the beef tips and Mac and cheese.. Very delicious! Look forward to dining here again soon!

Oh my word, the filet was to die for. Put me in a food coma instantly. The filet was perfect and moist. Pair it with the blue cheese butter and vinaigrette and wow. I think I'm in heaven. They marry together well. The not so star of the dish was the garlic mashed potatoes. To me it clashed with the other enjoyable flavors. Very, very good dish. Highly recommend.

They cater to a lot of places. Everything I've eaten had always tasted delicious. Enjoyed everything from homemade cook food to desserts. Definitely a place to order from.

My wife and I have driven past this place a dozen times or more and never noticed it in the back of the shopping area, off of the main road. I found out about it only through Yelp, and I am so glad we took the time to visit. For our first visit, we asked for a wedge salad as an appetizer since we knew we were going for heavier, rich entrees. I tried the filet with blue cheese butter and sides of truffle herb mashed potatoes and snap beans with halved cherry tomatoes. My wife ordered the pan roasted duck with goat cheese mashed potatoes, spinach, and a fig gastrique. My wife ordered an Old Fashioned cocktail. To close out we ordered a carrot cake for desert. The wedge was great. It came with a local egg that was soft boiled and added a great richness to the dressing. The cherry tomatoes were high quality, something you would find at a local farmer's market. I would have liked a bit of heat in the dressing, but the salad was still great. I ordered my filet medium, and it came to the table perfectly cooked. The blue cheese was an amazing top for my steak. My only complaint was that I wanted a little bit more of it. Snap beans and halved cherry tomatoes were very nice. When it comes to mashed potatoes, I tend to nibble on them a bit but leave them half uneaten in order to keep my carb intake low. The potatoes had an amazing flavor. I ate the entire serving. The duck was cooked well (a bit rare) and seasoned perfectly. Her mashed potatoes were good, but I preferred the style that was served with my filet. The fig gastrique was very tasty, and a perfect compliment to rest of the dish. My wife's Old Fashioned was one of the best she's been served in this area, but would have been even better with a cherry. We took our carrot cake home with us to eat later and loved it. All of our food was served with great presentation. The service was perfect. Our server had a big smile the whole time, I never waited for a drink refill, I didn't feel pestered by her constant presence.

Mmmmmmmmm! An excellent kiss that still lingers on your lips after that special someone pulls back to catch their breath.... An earthy Cabernet that speaks to your very soul as your tastebuds rejoice in the mixture of flavors... The Filet Mignon at Five Senses! I ate at Five Senses for the first time for lunch today. It was so good that, tonight, I treated my 83 y/o Mother there. She had the Salmon and I had the Ecstasy, otherwise know as the Filet. The Salmon was prepared with soy sauce which made it too salty for her taste. Within a short time, an entirely new plate was prepared Sans Soy Sauce and it was perfect! You can always tell when the food is good because she stops talking to eat. Perhaps, I will take her back here often!?!?! On to the Filet... Done exactly as I requested, medium rare, tender, flavorful and huge! Yes, size does matter and this was impressive! The only drawback was how noisy it was. You aren't going to have a romantic, quiet conversation discussing how to sneak away on a Catamaran snorkeling trip, with a private chef, in Belize... But you can get the basics done, then go for a walk somewhere else to do the quiet talk! For dessert... The menu options sounded great. I have had the pecan pie there for lunch today, (full disclosure - I'm a total perfectionist when it comes to pecan pie!) and while it was okay, it was only that. I wanted to try something else but was too stuffed from the amazing meal. So, next time! And soon! I really recommend this place for both the food as well as the service staff that was simply perfect in each of their roles! Thank you, Five Senses, for a great experience!

My daughter knows gourmet and rarely leaves anything on her plate. Her empty plate is the testament to the chef who prepared the best scallops ever!!! Btw my filet mignon with balsamic glaze was delicious too! Oh, the mint condition cocktail was superb. I highly recommend this place.

Love this place. Dinner is by far the best in Murfreesboro. Lunch is fun, recommend the bar to watch prep. Don't know of any other CIA qualified chefs in Murfreesboro. We recently had family visiting from NYC/CT area and they were more impressed with Five Senses than with dinner in Nashville at a very nice restaurant.

My adult daughter and I dined at Five Senses this evening. The entire experience was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family or old friends. Even though it appeared to be a busy night, we were seated quickly. We were asked by the hostess, if seating at the food bar was ok. We agreed, and could not have been happier. We were able to watch the chefs prepare our food and carry on casual conversation with them. It was very enjoyable, and would reccomend requesting to be seated at the food bar! Raven was our very attentive waitress, but never annoying! We started with an appetizer of pork belly sliders, and they did not disappoint! My daughter enjoyed the stir fried pork, which she was very happy with. The vegetables and pork were tender and flavorful, with just a nice amount of spiciness. I ordered the braised rabbit, since it was something I'd never eaten. It was very, very delicious! The rabbit was so tender! The vegetables were delicious, as well as the Gouda grits. The portions of both of our meals were just right... Not too big, and not too small. The Five Senses chefs are like food artists, and very entertaining to watch. We finished our meal with a dessert made by our waitress, Raven! We shared a white chocolate/dark chocolate mousse, topped with marshmallows, that Raven had made from scratch, and graham cracker crumbs. I would highly recommend Five Senses! Our bill came to $112+tip, but was worth every penny!

Somewhere hidden at the back of a little strip mall lies a culinary genius in hiding. That person happens to be the chef d' cuisine at this humble establishment. From the outside, it looks a little like a typical neighborhood cafe, or perhaps a artisanal bakery of some kind. Inside and a assessment of that day's specials will inform you - this is much, much more than that and then some. FS is not a white napkin and tablecloth establishment with tuxedo'd staff. Instead, all of the passion and service is dedicated to creative and entertaining takes on what are many reasonably recognizable standards: steaks, chops and filets, seafoods, lamb shanks and loins, vegetarian options, etc. But it's the ingredients, the recipe tweaks and variations and little surprises along the way that lead to a thoroughly entertaining evening of consumption. Starts with a great cornbread (with a whipped, but not honeyed butter). Plus-1 on that point. A mushroom barley soup had touches of fresh thyme and really long-simmered complex stock that when you put it side by side with every standard recipe and home version, you end up thinking - this is a just a soup? How did they do that? Really divine. One note: a cup means a custard ramekin sized portion. Had the house salad, and a spring mix with a light vinaigrette and fresh ripened grape tomatoes, a bit of mesclun and arugula, and then... toasted black walnuts and fresh herbs appear in this mix. And citrusy notes that aren't from a plain balsamic and EVO mix. Filet (mignon) was fork tender, super juicy and sizable over it's accompanying grilled vegetables and a smashed potato mix that would stand on its own as an entree. Lamb loin was pepper and spice-coated, and served as 1-inch thick medallions with roasted winter veggies and silver-dollar sized polenta cakes that were crisped and buttery. Tried the maple cheesecake, which was a dreamily creamy invention with a slightly ginger spiced crust. Then what was described as an Oreo cake - 2 rounds of dark cocoa brownies sandwiching a non-sweetened whipped cream with a mix in of an anglaise for richness, with big swaths of peanut butter cream, espresso ganache, a mocha powder trail, and a vanilla bean frosting that balances the whole creation. It's pricier than the local grills and usual places, and portions are not like hitting a Cracker Barrel. but don't save this little place for just the special occasions. Thinking something like, "I'm hungry..." and go. p.s. there are also varied cocktail and drink specials during the week that are total bargains.

We love the food bar. The menu changes with the seasons. Always so fresh. This is the best restaraunt in Murfreesboro for fine dining.

Five Senses never disappoints and is one of the few places in Murfreesboro to get fresh, in season meals. I selected braised elk pasta - a very hearty pasta dish with a rich cream sauce, tender elk and plump mushrooms. Prior to the pasta, I had the baby bok choy salad. It was very flavorful with peanut dressing, complimented with edamame, carrots, radishes and mushrooms. I highly recommend it! I also tried the night's special, rainbow trout, which came beautifully plated with a taste to match its presentation. The star of the night, though, was the almond crusted pan fried chicken topped with an apricot jalapeno gastrique. My husband was nice enough to share a bite of it, but not more than that! We always have great service and food at Five Senses, and their changing menu always offers a couple items you won't find anywhere else in this city.

Who knew that such a gourmet restaurant exists in the middle of TN? The chef is a graduate of the CIA. All entrees and dishes are visually pleasing, very flavorful, fresh and well proportioned! We were too stuffed to have any of the desserts. We had real good cornbread (small, sweet and not too moist nor too grainy). I ordered the cauliflower and white bean falafel as an appetizer and the braised lamb shank as my entree. OMG delishness! He ordered a salad and the filet mignon on crayfish girdle cakes. Wow! If I was a local this would be my hot spot. A must try if you are here or driving by! :)

First time there and we loved it! Friendly staff, great food and nice ambience. Now saying that it is a little pricey but they always say you get what you pay for and in my opinion it was worth every penny! I will definitely be returning! If you don't like small menus this not the place for you. It has a very small selection but I like that because you can tell everything is freshly made to order. Also I really liked that the chef came out to ask us how we were enjoying our food. Nice place to celebrate an Anniversary as that is what we were doing:)

Executive Chef, Mitchell is an artist! Everything on the plate would complement each other. He uses verious local veggies. Reasonable price setting for his delicious food and the service. I am from Japan and We have a very sophisticated culinary art culture, Five Senses is my Thumbs-up most recommended place in Murfreesboro. They did awesome catering job on our garden wedding party as well. Their Creme du Brûlée is the best! Great place for Vegetarians to fish and meat lovers. Worth try.

Definitely the best restaurant in Murfreesboro - hands down! The ambiance and the quality/variety of the food make you feel you are in a nice restaurant in NY or CA. Odd location but super delicious food and great place for a night out. The wine selection is decent too.

This is the best restaurant in town! Granted you are going to pay for it... but why not? I took my now-wife there to celebrate our engagement. The food was fantastic, the service was friendly and down-home and the portions are just right. Murfreesboro needs more fine dining establishments like this one!

Went with friends to this hidden gem! The atmosphere is modern and simple. I tried the grilled romaine salad, it was interesting, but yummy! Crab cake was good too. I got the burger and it was by far the juiciest most flavorful burger I've had in a long time! It's not somewhere you could eat everyday because it's a little pricey. The portion size is on the small size, but it's still plenty of food! If you live in M'boro and haven't eaten here yet you must try it out!

I love that the menu changes often, but I'm always surprised with how good the food is here. It's nice to know food is grown locally, but all I care about at the end if the day is am I going to like what I ordered. I haven't been disappointed yet.

The Boro has finally impressed me for a restaurant. Holy Wow! This place is so good. If you live within this city and do not eat here than shame on you! I went with my mother to celebrate my late birthday. We decided to have some appetizers because it was our first time in. I love getting a big mix of food the first time I go somewhere because you can really get a feel for the restaurant. The Mezze plate was generous for $14. We got three different types of cheese, lots of olives, thinly fried zucchini strips, hummus, toasted bread, nuts, and fried okra. Very good!. We also split the beef skewers (amazing melt in your mouth steak), grilled and fried eggplant (oddly, the tomato garnish was the star), a fresh garden salad (ranch is amazing) and a lentil soup with a bacon, goat cheese crostini (so flavorful). The best part we found out, on Saturdays they do half price apps, so deal alert! Now the stand out for me is the drinks. Cocktails are great. On a regular night the cocktails are around 11 to 13 dollars, but these are hand crafted. I don't think is is a place were you would order just a Jack and Coke. I had two drinks and they were fantastic. If you go on a Thursday, you can get any of the signature cocktails or martinis for 5 dollars. Service was great. All my questions were answered and I felt really taken care of! I cannot wait to come back for the Holiday season!

4 Great service, tasty food, perfectly cooked. They got skills. However be ready to labeled snobbish if you go eat here. Because it is an upscale joint. Good thing is, there is not too much of a wait, and you can come sit at the bar which is full of stone. I almost gave it 3 stars because the decor makes it casual, because you can see the kitchen, and chefs cook. It's like the Green Hills Grill. What do you want upscale or casual? I am having an identity crisis just thinking about it. If you come, you must be secure with your identity or you will be questioning the meaning of life. Basically, If you want to try some good food and have a pocketbook to pay for it, come and experience some of the best that Murfreesboro has to offer.

A Foodies Must!!!! If you are big into food like I am then this is the spot for you. My wife and I have been there 3 times within a week. We go so often because it is a seasonal menu and we want to try every dish on the current menu. I have been to culinary school and love food so much and I am some what of a food snob, so for me to say this is my all time favorite place to eat means a lot. You could order ANYTHING off the menu and you would love it. We have eaten the Duck Confit Flatbread, Veal Sweet Breads w/ Grit Cakes,Tuna Tartar, and Bacon Wrapped Rabbit Loin w/Gnocchi all tasted amazing and those were just the starters. For mains we have eaten Pan Seared Scallops, Pan Roasted Grouper, Braised Leg of Lamb w/ risotto. This is the kind of food that deserves a Michelin Star. If you don't want to sit by the front door then make a reservation. My wife and I choose to sit at the food bar/ chefs bar. Sitting there you can see the chefs do what they do best. If you can ask for Kelly to wait on you, you can tell she takes such pride at what she does and she makes you feel so comfortable while you're there. To some people the menu may seem pricey but with the quality of food you're receiving, it is money well spent. They do have specials, our favorite and the best is Date Night - Every Monday you can get 1 starter, 2 mains, and a dessert for $50. My wife and I finally have a place to call " Our Restaurant"

We were very impressed with our experience at Five Senses. It wasn't perfect, but it was wonderful, and we were so glad we decided to abandon our wait-listed position at Bonefish Grill as we were passing through Murfreesboro on a car trip. My husband HATES the wait at restaurants, when you have your little beeper and are hoping the hostess was exaggerating the possible wait time when you put your name in. We were sitting at Bonefish Grill in Murfreesboro after driving from Atlanta that afternoon and getting a hotel room. I was looking through the mobile Yelp app for what might be nearby and my husband was walking through the flatland shopping area where Bonefish was located looking for something more appealing and less waiting. I said, "This place, Five Senses, gets five stars from all its reviewers, and it's not far." We called and the hostess told us there was no wait, so we drove over. The restaurant is a little hard to find if you only have the street address, because it is located at the far end of a shopping center, off the street. We just looked for car clusters and found it. When we walked in, we were immediately seated at a four-top near the door. The space is open, with partial walls between the dining area and the bar and the public space and the kitchen, which is open and "theatrical." The floor is polished concrete, and the walls have engaging food quotes painted in frames. It's a little loud, with all those hard surfaces. It took us a long time to be waited on, even though, as I wrote, we were immediately seated. We sat for probably 5 or 10 minutes before a waiter noticed us, brought us menus and took our drink orders. He said he would not be our waiter, but he was sorry for our wait, so he must have noticed. Probably 10 minutes later, our waitress appeared. Honestly, she was sincerely friendly and energetic. She was very enthusiastic when we were pleased, etc. I had a great deal of trouble choosing what I wanted from the menu because so many things looked very appealing. I went back and forth and back and forth, and I probably didn't really decide until the waitress came to take the order. My husband had the steak and potato soup that was the evening's special soup. He said it may have been one of the best soups he ever tasted! He LOVED it! He was still talking about it the next day. I wasn't going to have an appetizer, but when the waitress mentioned the seafood tempura appetizer of the day, I went for it. It was not that special, although I liked the remoulade sauce that came with it. For my entree, I ordered the pan-roasted duck breast, cooked with fig and port gastrique and mashed potatoes. My husband had the pecan-crusted mahi-mahi, which he said was absolutely delicious. We really, really enjoyed our food, and the service, once it began, was really charming and personable. I would definitely leave chainland in Murfreesboro again for Five Senses. We were delighted with our food and our little "date night" on the road.

We never expected to find such a gem in Murfreesboro, only because we get to visit the area maybe once a year. Five Senses is located at the end of a strip mall, but that's the only downside we observed. I had phoned ahead to see if they had a menu for a seven year old and was told by the chef/owner that they could make anything he would want. And they did; his burger was delicious with onsite made potato chips. Our server was helpful in selecting appetizers of stacked crab and tomato and a tempura. Our entries were fish, filet and skirt steak, all delicious My filet could hold its own against any I have enjoyed from coast to coast, perfectly seasoned and cooked. While I sipped a glass of freshly opened Savignon Blanc, my son and daughter-in-law sampled craft brews and compared brands from the northeast with our friendly waiter. The chef must have recognized the burger order since he stopped by to meet us and to ensure we were enjoying our meal. I wish I could pick the place up and move it to Philadelphia.

We just had apps and drinks, but were impressed what we had. Nice ambiance; doesn't make you think of Murfreesboro. Service was spotty at first but server made up for it. Look forward to going for a full meal sometime.

Having just moved to Murfreesboro, Five Senses was at the top of everyones recommendation list. As a foodie, and one who cooks a lot, I jump at the chance to try new things and have wonderful food made for me. This was not that. The food was average at best, if your standards are really low. But it costs too much for boring food. Service was horrible, receiving your glass of wine you ordered to go with dinner, in the middle of the meal is not acceptable. It was loud and busy, but I've dealt with worse for good food. I was hoping this would live up to its hype and reputation, but I just don't understand what others found to be so impressive.

As good as any restaurant in Nashville and it's right here in the boro. Never had anything I did not like. Love the seasonal local food and the catering is top notch too !

Yikes. I'm kind of shocked by all of the high reviews. I went with some coworkers while we were in town for a convention, and we all agreed that it was good, but the price point, atmosphere and service makes this a two-star experience. First, I will start of by saying that we spent $160 for dinner with three people. Two glasses of wine, three entrees, gratuity. It was not cheap. I'm not one to dock stars for expense UNLESS the restaurant doesn't deliver. And in this case it did not. I'll start with the atmosphere. The restaurant is one big room. There are tables and chairs like you would expect in a cookie cutter restaurant where the entrees are $10. You would definitely not walk in and think that you were going to have a high end or luxury experience. There is nothing to muffle the sound, so there is no privacy AND it is loud. Second, service. Our waiter was VERY green. He stumbled around the wine list, the service was very slow (it took him forever to bring out the wine, to come back for our order, to deliver the check....slooooowww), and when asked about the entrees, everything was "very good." When I'm paying $32 for a piece of fish, I expect the server to know how it is prepared, which veggies come with it, and what wine will pair nicely. I had none of that. Third, food. The food was good. I enjoyed my fish, the veggies had a nice flavor, and it was overall tasty. I know that $32 isn't crazy expensive, but it is a solid price point. I could get a nice piece of fish at a top steakhouse in Dallas for that price point, and the experience, service and ambiance would be top-notch. While I am glad that I tried Five Senses and the food was good, I would not recommend it or go back. The price point is just way too out of whack with the experience.

  • Alan K.

The food was terribly overcooked, and the waitress decided for me that I didn't want the wine that I ordered, so she brought me something else instead. We were one of only 2 tables in the building, yet I had to get silverware from another table so I could eat. Will not be returning.

Murfreesboro really needs a first class dining establishment to cancel out all the chains, the Chili's and the Ruby Tuesday's and the Outbacks, and this is it. This is another restaurant that if I could swoop down with the Hand Of God and move it to my neighborhood I would. The food and atmosphere here rivals the nicest places in Nashville and I would even go so far as to say it's better than anything I've had in Nashville. When I ate here, I decided to go all out. I had a seafood appetizer, a steak medallions dish and a dessert, plus wine. I don't think my tab was more than $45, which for the quality of food and at least two glasses of wine, was more than reasonable. Everything about Five Senses is delightful, and the name rings true. I felt that all my senses were tantalized by the experience. So if you're looking for a great place to celebrate in Murfreesboro, find this place tucked in the back of an upmarket strip mall.

This is the only good restaurant in the Boro. We eat here weekly and enjoy the seasonal menu that features the freshest local produce available. Mitchell, the owner/chef, is always a good host when he is not in the open kitchen. There is a food bar where you can sit and watch the kitchen operate and get to know who is preparing your food. Cocktails are inventive and delicious. The wine list is, thankfully, on a single page and has a nice selection of reasonably priced bottles. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and there are nightly specials if you are trying to save some bucks. The location is a bit unusual, in an upscale strip mall, but the interior is pleasant and friendly. Service is always good. Far and away the best eating experience Murfreesboro has to offer. We are fans!

5 Senses always delivers! $5 martini night is hard to beat as is the seasonal menu. Most of their produce is locally grown & they use their house cured spirits to create the most innovative selections you will find in Murfreesboro. Chef Mitchell Murphree's creative and often Southern-inspired fare is hard to beat. The tomato crab stack is a summer favorite!

Excellent menu and wine selection. Good atmosphere and people. After first and only visit, I made reservations for Valentine's Day and I hate going out to eat on Valentine's day.

Best restaurant in Murfeesboro. My wife and I love it. Their take on Southern cuisine is unique and delicious. We live two blocks away and we try to go every chance we get! Makes for an awesome date night! Love it!

A gem in Murfreesboro. Normally we are stuck with chain restaraunt "fine dining" around town. Friends introduced us to Five Senses -we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Great ambience, super service(Liz), robust wine list, and eclectic menu. BTW: Liz answered all our "get to know this restaraunt" questions correctly (what we expected from a true fine dining establishment) including why salt/pepper is not found on the tables (but can be provided if requested). All a breath of fresh air in Murfreesboro. Our only three suggestions for future improvement: expresso machine, sparkling water option, and candles at the table.

Hands down, one of the best "foodie" restaurants I've been to in all of the Nashville metro area. Lucky for everyone in Murfreesboro, it's in your backyard. The menu is always inventive and delicious, and it changes out seasonally as any good restaurant should. Cocktails are of the Virago variety (loved some sort of ginger concoction last time I was there). I try not to go to chain restaurants if I can help it, and thus, this is exactly the type of eatery I think Murfreesboro needs more of! As if you could pack any more chains in a city of this size anyway?!

A Home Run. Great food, diverse menu, nothing like you'd see at chain restaurant. Went on a Wednesday night for a business dinner for 4. All had different meals all outstanding. The servers seemed to take the clue from you when you are ready to order so don't be shy to say you are ready to order. Not cheep but not unreasonable. Enjoy.

We enjoyed two appetizers of potato skins with smoked salmon the other was olives and cheese. Our entree was the enchiladas. Banana Ice cream Alaska for dessert. It was a wonderful meal served by a gracious and very attentive staff. We highly recommend this great restaurant

The food is INCREDIBLE!!! It's not just a meal, it's an experience. The only thing that is "sometimes" a tiny issue is service. It just depends on who you get. They are all very friendly, but some are much slower than others. However, the quality of the food seems to make up for any downfall in the service. Excellent!

This place is great. We visit all the foodie restaurants downtown and were glad to find one nearer us. The food was as good as we've had. Really excellent. The server was obviously a little inexperienced. Not to say she was bad but didn't have the polish servers at this type of establishment usually have. Saying that, we would love to have her serve us again. The prices were exactly what we would expect for this type of food. Actually, after eating we were pleasantly surprised with our check. We'll be going back and I'd recommend Five Senses to anyone looking for a proper meal outside of downtown Nashville.

Fantastic food. No complaints here at all. It's a bit pricy but worth it. Thursday night was $5 martini night and Five Senses makes good ones. I had salmon and my wife had the hamburger. Both were fantastic. Highly recommended.

Great food & cool atmosphere (though, at times it can get quite loud with the concrete floors, high ceilings, and exposed kitchen). My husband and I have eaten here at least 8 or 10 times and have always really enjoyed it. Some of the items that are always some of the best I've ever had are the scallops, filet mignon, ostrich, foie gras, sweetbreads, and various fish dishes. It is exceptionally hard to find a good restaurant in Murfreesboro, and this one is definitely the very best!! They have great nightly chef specials as well as days for deals...one night is 20% off for early diners, another is couples night (1 app, 2 entree, 1 dessert for $50), wine specials, etc. My one MAJOR problem is that they don't ever update their website with the new menu....they have a seasonal, very local menu that changes at least 4x a year but they rarely update this on the website. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR MENU ONLINE!!!!

awesome restaurant. we had a party of 7, including my 3 year old daughter. The service was great. The wine list was adequate. Split the pan roasted duck with my wife. I had the soup of the day - mushroom and shrimp miso. My daughter had a Fettuccine Alfredo (the server was very good at helping find something appropriate for her). We also had wine and cocktails - wine is $5/glass on Tuesdays. The greens with the duck were heavenly. The duck was cooked perfectly. I used my cornbread dressing to absorb the remains of the fig and port gastrique. For dessert - a very nice chocolate cake perfectly sized to split with your spouse (or daughter in my case). My wife had a pesto ice cream that she really enjoyed. We were all commenting on how "Iron Chef" the ice cream was. Great place. Highly recommend it.
