Healthy Meal suggestions for Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel's food has depleted over the years. After a year returning to the South, I was craving some country cookin'. Before I moved, I used to come here for breakfast, but the last time I was here, I made the horrible choice of ordering the lunch/dinner menu. I've had lunch/dinner at the other location before and it was delicious! But since this location was closer I wanted to try something else besides breakfast. The taste wasn't what I expected. Nothing spectacular to rave about. Mediocre at best. I haven't tried the breakfast menu since I've been back. I don't know how that'll be.

Thursday is Turkey & Dressing day, why were they out of Turkey & Dressing? I ordered my meal and the server returned and said they didn't have any Turkey & Dressing so I ordered the meat loaf. The two simply are not comparable. I was served a very small dried out sweet potato and all the manager said was 'well that shouldn't have left the window'. Her name was Gabrielella and you would think such a large company would hire 'managers' with better customer service skills. My advice, don't order the sweet potato here.

Our meal took forever to get to the table. When my Cracker Barrel Sampler arrived at the table not one of the items was hot. I'm not sure if it could even be considered warm. On the upside the waitress was good.

This is the better of the two Cracker Barrels in Murfreesboro. It is better organized and the wait is never as long as the one off of Old Fort Pkwy. Service is always present and helpful at this location. Today I had Cathy as my server and she was a delight. She was very attentive to getting refills or grabbing extra items for our table. I always love the Chicken and Rice special on Saturdays, plus the meatloaf any other day. I definitely recommend this location to the others in the area.

I can't believe how well this staff handled the Sunday crowd. We almost turned around when we saw how crowded the parking lot was, but these employees run a tight ship. I am very impressed. The food is good as always too.

Do not order thanksgiving dinner from this place unless you plan on spending half if your day trying to get your food. Had a 15 minute pickup window and when I arrived 25 cars ahead of me moving a car about every 8 minutes. Do the math. Apparently the person who devised this flunked math.

The FDA recommends 3-4 cups of vegetables and 2-3 cups of fruits per day. You follow these guidelines to stay healthy and enjoy your gift of life that God gave you...until you take a road trip. Your hunger sets in and you have to stop for food. "Humm, Cracker Barrel" you think to yourself, because wholesome and goodness comes from a restaurant built to look like a log cabin. You're thinking nature, woods, fresh, yes! Any vitamin deficiency concerns I have are out the window! Hardly that! There were barely any true healthy options with prices that were outrageous for what we did choose. For a 1/4 cup fruit (1 cut strawberries with about 4 blueberries and 3 pineapple pieces) was $2.49 and egg whites from maybe just 2 eggs was $3. I know they have to include labor, business expenses, and such but make portions fair! Give me a cup of fruit and a a few more egg whites and some oatmeal with NO sugar and dried fruit added! Even my kids did not enjoy Cracker Barrel. I guess it's back to the basics, hunting your food and collecting wood for the fire, you'll get more for your time and money.

I was really bummed with my last experience here. In the past, I have always enjoyed eating at Cracker Barrel but this time I can't say the same. I placed a to go order and was told it would be 10 minutes. I waited about 30 minutes before my food finally came. Once I got it home, the food was cold. Not cool, but cold and it's impossible that it cooled that much in my short drive home. The mashed potatoes were bone dry and stuck to the side of the to go container. The meal was mediocre at best. Granted, they were busy that day but I feel like my order was neglected and there's no excuse for that. I have to wonder how long my food sat before someone realized it was there. I honestly think I could have gotten a better meal from a fast food place at half the price.

Let's make this easy. Once you have seen one Cracker Barrel, you have seen them all.

Food poisoning last night! My wife ordered the Chicken Dumplings and within 45 minutes was violently sick. After 6 hours she passed out from vomiting and I took her to the Emergency Room. After an IV and severals medications she started to settle down. We finally got back to the hotel at 6am and slept a few hours. What a terrible way to wrap up a vacation. The food tasted good and I had no problems with my French toast. The restaurant did seem clean but you never know what evil little critters are hiding in your food.

Cacker Barrel is my favorite restaurant. I have traveled much and have yet to have had a bad experience with this company. I live near this particular one and eat there often and I am never dissatisfied.

This is my favorite Cracker Barrel of all in any state that I've tried. Cracker Barrel headquarters uses this venue to train managers and to try out new menu items. The menu here varies from the one on Chaffin Place across town. I had delicious salmon patties, baked sweet potato, and green beans. This store is now trying out a new healthier menu. Over the years the servers and management have been very nice.

Hmmm....where to begin. Do I start with our inexperienced waitress, the RAW PORK sausage I received although I asked for turkey, the waitress insisting that it was turkey sausage even though it clearly wasn't (trick please....nothing turkey about some raw pork sausage on my plate!), OR should I start at my friend getting sick about a half hour after we left? So many options, so little space to write! Nevertheless.......I won't be going back!

Great, consistent cooking. We hit CB's whenever we travel as well. Staff at Church St are always friendly and helpful!

Why do they serve breakfast all day, but they won't serve a lunch item at 10am? Hmmm...conundrum. Our server, Kris, is fantastic! I've had him as my server on two different occasions and he is so nice, personable, and he's on top of his game! He told us that people commonly mistake him for Andy Richter. haha I always order the same meal and it's dependable and delicious!
