I didn't think you could top the food at the Cason Lane Camino's, but tonight I was proven wrong. We stopped by the Church Street location after doing a bit shopping to grab a quick bite. The place busy but we were seated immediately. Service was phenomenal and the food was amazing! My wife had a combo plate with an enchiladas and a shredded chicken taco that she said was the best she had ever had. I ordered the chimichangas supremas which consists of four mini chimis with ground beef, steak, chicken and shrimp accompanied by lettuce, pico, sour cream and guacamole. The pico and guac were super fresh and the chimis were unbelievably good! The ground beef and steak were great, but the chicken and shrimp were beyond description. The chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp was a complete geographic anomaly - how could shrimp that epic be found this far inland? They were big, flavorful, cooked to perfection and as good as any that I have had on the coast. All that being said, I think this location will now be my go-to place for amazing mexican food in the boro!

Last time must have been an off day, or they were recovering from being slammed. Today's service was excellent. We had the Fajitas. Very flavorful and not supper greasy. My wife and I shared the single mixed order and there were leftovers. The cheese dip and salsa are very tasty. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Murfreesboro. Can't wait to bring my family back.

Camino Real is your typical Mexican restaurant that is slightly nicer looking that's your average hole the wall authentic places. The food quality and experience is exactly what would expected just by looking at the place. Who doesn't like burritos, queso, and chips & salsa?

As a matter of fact, in Murfreesboro, TN... This is indeed as good as Mexican food gets. They are the gold standard. They are the place upon which all newcomers will be judged. This is the place where all new comers have failed to meet the level of goodness. I have been eating here for... over 20 years now. Wow... Doesn't seem that long!!!! over 20 years!!! How many other local Mexican Restaurants can boast that? They have remained true to their roots in many cases. Some stuff has been replaced due to food costs, or just falling out of popularity. They have remained fluid through the years and changed the menu as the tastes of the public have evolved. They have lots of delicious meals on the ridiculously huge menu (which I wish was about 1/4 the size it is now). Kudos to the Onate Brothers, the Management, and all the team at Camino Real!!! Keep it Real and keep it Murfreesboro for another 24 years!

Seated quickly but long wait for service and food, too many flies resulted in constant fanning of food, and inattentive wait staff. When we did get our food it was good and the reason for the 2 stars; however, not worth a repeat visit.

Where can I begin. I was a great big fan of this establishment. When the restaurant first opened their doors, but in the past months the attentive wait staff have been declining in their service. In the past, we would be greeted as if we were at home, but the wait staff has became very decadent. I have no longer received the attention and the validation we once received. The food has less than to be desired. We were left several times with out our refills, and would reach out for assistance. But at times we felt as disturbance upon the wait staff and front desk. Needless to say we have grown very disappointed of this once great restaurant. Now we are having lunch and dinner else where.

We eat here once a week. They have the best queso ever. My 5 year old daughter orders the cheese quesadilla with rice off the kids menu and eats the whole quesadilla. My husband and I like the Nachos Real. First time we have had nachos with rice on them. They are delicious.

It was alright, just alright. When going out to eat, I'm looking for more than alright. Service was sad, food was mediocre, and we were made to feel like an inconvenience to the front lobby people. Will not be returning here any time soon, or later.

No other Mexican restaurant will compare. They set the bar for quality, taste and service. We usually order to go and we have NEVER had an order wrong. Very courteous staff. Great Menu selection.

We just ate at Camino Real Mexican Restaurant tonight after finding it on an app while driving through Murfreesboro on a road trip. What a great find!!! The restaurant is appealing, the staff was super nice, the service was incredibly fast (there were at least 30 other people dining on this particular Thursday evening), and the food was delicious. My husband and I are so happy with the experience that we will be back on the return trip past Murfreesboro ! I had the Vegetarian special #2 and my husband had the Burrito Verde (pork). We were pleased with the real- brewed iced tea and the bathrooms were attractive and immaculate. So, 5 stars!

Best Mexican restaurant in the 'Boro. My wife and I eat here at least 3-4 times a month. This location is much better than the others also. They have a new menu (still has most of the dishes from the old one) with some appetizers and new dishes. I still stick with my favorite 3-4 dishes but not opposed to trying something new. Almost all the wait staff we've ever had have been nice and quick. Two dinners and small pitcher of TX margaritas for under $25, you can't get any better than that. If you go on a Friday night try to get there before 6pm to beat the crowd.

If it wasn't so cheap I would give it 2 stars. The chicken soup was insipid and totally misrepresented in the photograph. The chicken and green peppers was tasty but the chicken hopelessly overcooked. Oh no! friends invited us back there the next day. This time the food was a lot better. Another chicken dish was tasty and not over cooked. Just goes to show they can earn their 3 stars but not consistently.

Camino is the best Mexican food for under $10 in the boro & this is the best location of all the Caminos. If you like fajitas you def need to try the mocajete! It's alot like fajitas but bigger, with better meat, more vegatables & is served still sizzling in its ceramic bowl. My favorite thing on their large menu

Food is great! Eaten at several Camino locations including Tullahoma, Antioch, and all 3 Murfreesboro locations. Really enjoy the new menu items added including Tacos Mexican Style (comes with cilantro, onions, tamatillo salsa and refried beans) Great Dish! Patio is great for smokers and those that enjoy a more lively crowd in the summer evenings and nights.

Great food at this Camino. I went last night & I am on a diet, they customized my fajita order, so I was able to stay on track! It is a clean place & the staff is always friendly. Great family restaraunt & great place to hang with friends!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
