This is my favorite bar. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back yet upscale. The staff is friendly and the food is incredible. Jasmine is the best server there so definitely ask for her! Also, I like this place because even if youre not drinking alcohol, just eating or hanging out, it isnt weird. I dont always want to drink alcohol but I may want their delicious veggie wrap!

If you are wanting to make reservations it must be done a day in advance. See, this is a 5 star restaurant and paparazzi's are everywhere trying to catch a glimpse of Murfreesboro's finest in this upscale bar food establishment. Ha ha ha. Just a piece of mind for anyone wanting to visit here from out of town. 3 stars is the correct rating.

As soon as I walked through the door I knew I was in for a treat, just the atmosphere alone was a relaxed with an up-beat feel. Service was ok, but It was super busy when I went so it was understandable. Ahi Tuna Sandwich was a knock out. I pretty much inhaled the thing. Good selection of drinks though the bar tenders aren't comfortable with off menu drinks, when I ordered a Twisted Lemonade my waitress came back to ask what was usually in it. But overall I enjoyed myself and will defiantly return, even if its only for that sandwich. :)

My husband and I just recently had a date night at Bar Louie. We were looking to go somewhere new and different in Murfreesboro and our decision to try Bar Louie for the first time was a great one! We had an exceptional first experience there. The food was excellent, the drinks were stout and the service was exceptional. We sat down right at 7pm when their Monday night trivia started. We thought, "Score!" We started with a mojito and a "Peach Lightning" which is Jacob's Ghost White Whiskey, DeKuyper Peachtree, white peach puree, lemonade and cherries. We were told it's one of their new drinks and it is gooood! For dinner we had the calamari appetizer; the Firecracker Flatbread and the Luigi sandwich. All were delicious and did not disappoint. The Firecracker Flatbread is spiced beef and pork in a szechwan sauce topped with mozarella, provolone, carrot, green onion, sesame seeds, cilantro and basil. The Luigi sandwich is shaved ribeye with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and olive oil on a hoagie roll. So filling and tasty! Beyond the great food, drinks and atmosphere what made this an exceptional experience was the service. The manager, Jesse, brought our food to the table. He had my husband's order, but not mine. He explained to me that he had dropped my order but that one was being quickly made in it's replacement. Jesse was very apologetic even though I thought to myself, "I would have never known. He could have just told me my order would be out in a minute and I wouldn't have known the difference." Instead, he took care of another round of drinks and gave us a couple free shots. He also continued to check on us to make sure we were having a good time and because of him, we did! We'll definitely see Bar Louie again soon.

Never, Never, Never, NEVER AGAIN! We returned to Bar Louie last week and again, the food was great as always. But the music was blaring. We asked that it be turned down and the reaction was very odd. The kind server suggested we might prefer country instead of the shouting that was going on, and we agreed. The server left and we next heard a LOUD country song -- at least part of it. Over the next ten minutes or so, the music went from one genre to another, about 1/4 song at a time. It appeared to us that someone in the back was more interested in their own musical taste than that of the patrons. And he music volume went up and down (significantly, even during each individual song) for the next several minutes, settling back on the original genre. The manager was there; was he simply oblivious to the goings on? We asked that he visit our table. He patronizingly explained that the music was set to its lowest volume setting and that he had no control over how loud each individual recording might be. I asked him how new the sound system was and he replied that it wasn't new. Interesting, since if you read all my previous reviews, you find that the lack of music volume was one of the high points of our experience. It was a weekday, and by noon there were probably six tables of patrons (as we were leaving). There was only one table from the "under 50" crowd. This restaurant would do well to pay more attention to their ACTUAL PATRONS vs. the demographic they are attempting to target, and certainly more attention to their customers than their employees. All in all, the manager's attitude said to us, "We don't value your business. You're bothering me, please don't come back." Trust me, we won't! Trust me, we don't spend our money where we aren't valued.

We went on a thursday night, and it was not busy. Every drink we ordered took a minimum of 15 minutes to get to the table. Everyones food made it to the table before the drinks did. The food was good and they have good specials. The service is the WORST i've ever had in my life. I saw our waitress just hanging out in the back laughing and talking to her co workers. 15 minutes became 30 minutes for a drink. I'm never going back again.

Had no idea this bar was tucked away here! Great location. Good bar food (different fare). And the wait staff was attentive and friendly! Even for a teatotaller like me!

I've tried this place a couple of times. The food was mediocre. We started with the calamari. Terrible idea. It was a complete rip off. There was barely any calamari itself. Mostly fried batter on top of lettuce. I tried the chicken parm sliders. The chicken portions between the buns were very small as well. There was a sliver of chicken in each one. It was more bun and sauce than anything. You could have took all 3 pieces and put them in one slider. They threw the fries on top of the sliders. I had to dig out the sliders to get to them. The service was lacking. She brought the appetizer out without napkins or silverware. We had a difficult time getting her attention. The food is overpriced and portions are small than most places.

Good food, great drinks. Wonderful happy hour with a good selection of food half off. Service is quick. And the place is surprisingly child friendly. Booster seats, high chairs, a kid's menu and a casual atmosphere where no one noticed my busy little one.

We went here for my birthday and it was so loud (at 7pm) you could only talk to the person next to you and even then had to yell. We asked a few times for them to turn down the music and they said they would, but didn't. The hostess was rude when we requested the patio and the table service was terrible. The waitress couldn't hear us so we had to just get up and go ask her for things. Ultimately, it was kind of a bust night and a few of us had headaches when we left from screaming at each other! Lol. I've been back since and it hasn't been as loud, but the food is low quality for the price. Except the hummus, that is good. I think Bar Louie is trying to hard to be an upscale club! Haha. I give 2 stars for the hummus and the patio. Minus 3 stars for the tool bag managers and the ditzy staff in their knee high socks!

I always enjoy Bar Louie, nice selection of drafts, lots of specials during the week, and not to mention a decent atmosphere. Wait staff are nice and the location is always clean.

I had the shrimp skewers they were bland. The potstickers were okay, but the buffalo boneless wings were good. Our sever was hard to find and we had to prompt her to get more drinks and refills. The prices ate not worth the food or service.

  • James A.

Our daughter helped us discover this place and we have formed a bit of a habit. The "Happy Hour" drinks and small plates at half price are a real winner. Add to that one of the best chicken quesadillas I have ever eaten and we have a new option on our rotation. A bit loud, but a lot of places are. We have had good service on every visit so far.

"Great place to grab a bite and hang. Food is great. Staff is friendly and on top of things. Sal, a visiting manager, made our night!"

Went at 9 last night. Good atmosphere love the door/windows that open all the way around, comfy seating, cool decor. Really liked my Pom peche drink. Was not impressed with food. Bartender said all food made in house daily. Well I am fairly sure that the potstickers came straight out of a freezer and were not cooked properly... The truffled popcorn needed more truffle oil and salt... So food was ok. Not good. Not bad. I can see us going back after events at embassy suites where food is horrid... And drinks are worse... And bar Louie. Is open until 2am. A major plus. Btw my drink was $9 and the drinks at bonefish are better and cheaper... But I am happy to see a new place with a cool vibe open in the Boro. We need more places like bar louie !

Good food and atmosphere. Service on both occasions was exceedingly slow. Over two hours for lunch one day (a Thursday) and dinner one evening (a Wednesday). I realize this is a new franchise location, so hopefully the service issues are temporary.

  • Emily B.

We left without eating. We waited for an hour at lunch on a Saturday. They were not busy, the service was just terrible. Two tables next to us were seated after us and served before us. No one tried to correct the situation in any way. Management was invisible. We do not plan to return.

I read the other reviews and want to tell my fellow Tennesseans to stop whining. I'm here now with my wife for the third time and enjoying myself once again. It's a great place to eat, drink and meet friends or stop by for lunch on a Sunday. Jess and Chelsea have given us friendly and fast service and we really can't complain about anything. Murfreesboro is a fast growing friendly place to live and Bar Louie's gives us a place to go where we feel comfortable. If you're young, sort of young or maybe like me just admitting you're not so young anymore you'll find people just like you here enjoying a great meal in a great place. We're lucky to have it.

I was on vacation in Nashville visiting family and we stopped in for lunch. I wasn't sure what to expect since I have been to a few bar Louie's around the US and I was pleasantly surprised with the service. One of the managers walked over to our table and greeted us with a great smile and really made us feel important. He explained the menu and went over the drinks with us. He was so helpful and I wanted to make sure that this employee was recognized for the great service. His name was Bryan and he was awesome. He had a great personality and for him alone I would come back to this store hands down. All employees and management should be like this. It's just nice to see that their are still some people in this world that care about their jobs and go above and beyond to take care of the customers. Def will return

Open dark atmosphere. Food was pretty good, which was surprising to me. I had the voodoo chicken, very unique and delicious. We had a party of about 25, so we expected to have to wait a little bit, but it seemed a bit excessive considering the place was pretty empty. Beer was small. I would have expected a 22oz at a bar like this. Odd place to have live music though. Not a great location, and where they had then place right next to us, it made it impossible to have conversation. This is not a club, keep the music down.

Good food for a decent price. Dollar burger Tuesdays are always good. I usually get the potsticker appetizer for my meal and they're always great. Service is ok, usually very rushed though. Drinks can get expensive easily. Overall pretty decent.

My second trip to Bar Louie Murfreesboro was worst than the first unfortunately. It was busy, which is to be expected on a Friday night, so we settled in for a 25-30 minute wait. For situations like this, there isn't anywhere for all the waiting folks to sit or stand unless you're outside (and it was too cold for that). We were just in the way, and kept toying with the idea of leaving to dine elsewhere. At that moment, two seats at the bar opened up - so we snagged them and decided to stick it out over a beer. We waited and waited for one of the bartenders to acknowledge our presence. Finally, one of them greeted us and stated they hadn't noticed us sitting there. I found this quite comical since this was the same bartender that had looked me in the eye - twice - just moments prior... Our 25-30 minute wait was really a 50 minute wait before we were finally ushered to a table. With my poor hearing and my growling stomach, I was so happy to move away from the bar. Luckily, our server was fantastic - three cheers for her. My dinner companion ordered the Voodoo Chicken, which is a HUGE platter! I was unable to sample it due to the ingredients, but it was reported to me that while it tasted very fresh, the sauce was quite watery. I went for the Portabella Burger, and was very disappointed. I could taste that the poor mushroom had been frozen, then was cooked to death. I didn't even eat half of it. Fortunately for me, and as before, the fries were simple and delicious - so I munched on them the rest of the meal. I do not plan to return to this BL location, unless I am dragged there against my will.

Decent food, Cold beer, good service! The Lou is best caught during specials. The food isn't good enough to really want to pay full price. The beer list is OK, and they are always cold as ice. The cocktails are well made and they use good product.

We go to Bar Louies twice a week. Their food is awesome everytime. On Tuesdays they have Half pound Hamburgers for $1.00. It is the best burger for any price. The service is fast and very courteous. I would recommend everyone to try it, see for yourself...

Bad Service. We had to find our waitress, wave her down and then wait several minutes to order drinks and then again to order food and then again to get check. First time I ever left a zero tip for a waitress.

Food was wonderful. Fast service and great wait staff. Have been for lunch and dinner and love it. My favorite place to go. Bring it on.....

$10 bucks for a sub-par cocktail is a bit too pricey for my blood. Aside from the high prices, the service was extremely slow. I went on a Friday afternoon at about 1 pm and there were only about 10 other patrons there, so I expected the service to be fast. My wife and I each ordered a cocktail, and then the bartender disappeared for about 10 minutes before ever even attempting to make our drinks.

Great place to go for fall patio seating. we waited for 25 min to be sat on the patio had martini at the bar. we were greeted quickly with a smile and timely service. my wife had the voodoo pasta and I had ahi tuna both were great. our waitress's were great. perfect hump day experience.

We came in early in the day for a few drinks and appetizers. I ordered the nachos and let me say they were very good. Someone in our party ordered the bruschetta that was served in a huge martini looking glass. The service was awesome and fast. Now, we decided to come back later in the night since it was close to where we were staying and we liked the service from earlier. The service was good but my brain and I were very disappointed with what we ordered. We decided to try the catfish tacos and Mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was decent but the fish tacos were pretty gross. The fish was overcooked and the tacos were very very dry . I wasn't satisfied so I asked for sour cream to maybe give it some tenderness or taste.... Still, nothing! Very disappointed with it! Oh, tthey bring out the tortillas separate so I had to make my own tacos too

Okay so I have to admit, I've had a bad opinion of this place for quite a while. I came here a couple years ago and was thoroughly unimpressed and haven't been back since. However, this place is also a usual hangout for my better half and one of her friends, and last night I decided to accompany them and give this place another shot. I'm pretty glad I did. Apparently my first impression of the place was just on a bad day or something. For one (and probably the biggest reason), they use blue cheese olives in their dirty martini. This should be a law. They make the drink so much better. I can only assume that some people (of poor taste) complain though because when I ordered one, the waitress actually told me "You do know that we make our dirties with blue cheese olives, right?" as if it were a warning.. yes ma'am! I saw that in the menu! That's WHY I ordered one! Oh they were tasty. For food I had a panko and sesame encrusted fried cod over shrimp fried rice. The rice was great, the fish itself was kind of soggy. They do get an A for effort though, it's interesting to see a place trying to do an Asian take on fried cod. My biggest complaint is the noise; their music is very loud, so the patrons are practically yelling to have conversation. I guess they're trying to give their bar a bit of a club vibe, but it really just comes across as too noisy. I can look past the noise though, and will return. For the martinis. With the glorious blue cheese olives.

This was or second visit. Both on a Friday night. It is a busy and loud place. If you are wanting to have deep and meaningful conversation, this would not be your place. Leave grandparents home as well. They would hate the reverberating music and sensory overload of sounds, smells and tv's. For us, though, it was the perfect spot to stop between Memphis and Chattanooga and stretch our legs, unwind and refuel. My hubby and son were happy with the football and hockey games playing. We ordered the roasted vegetable flatbread as an appetizer and it was inhaled in 4 minutes flat. That's one way to get them to eat their veggies! ;) It is really All that. We all tasted each other's food. (Yeah, we're tight like that...well maybe we just like food that much). My shrimp skewers in adobo sauce with mango and greens was both beautiful and divine! Nice little kick and I loved the fresh ingredients. My hubby got the mexican Sunrise Quesadilla. Let's just say, my tastebuds were dancing. The Mac and cheese was rich and yummy...a real comfort food on a COLD night. It's a fun and lively spot with fast and friendly service and good food.

For a chain restaurant this and Carraba's would be my favorite. My favorite from the menu is the salmon sliders, but anything else I've tried has been good. They also have a wide selection of draft beer and carry many local seasonal beers. oddly the female servers ( I don't even think there are male servers) wear booty shorts? Not sure how this fits into the vibe of this restaurant, since it really is nice and nothing even comparable to a hooters, but booty don't bother me. Tuesday is Dollar burger night!

This was the first stop on tap for a bachelorette party I went to this past Friday. It was pretty packed around 10:00 already, and it took a little while to find an area big enough to fit everyone (we had about 8 people). Finally, a booth opened up and we relaxed for a while. I got a margarita (which was A LOT stronger than other places, which is fine) but then it was over $11 after tax! I might be a stickler but this just seemed like a little much to me... Anyway, the overall atmosphere is pretty good, and the waitress we had (again, can never remember their names...) was super friendly. One positive is that the bar gave us a free round of shots to celebrate the bachelorette's pending nuptials. I would definitely check this place out again, but perhaps I would only get something that's on special.

No stars! Just walked out. Waited 15 minutes and no one came to our table. Not crowded, sitting at a table near bar and entrance. Five employees at hostess stand just hanging out. Made eye contact with two different waitresses and they just smiled and walked away. Too bad. You are no longer one of my dining options.

The name is SO deceiving. I expected mediocre Bar food and that is not what you get. This food is AMAZING! EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING from the ranch to the buns is made FRESH at the Bar. I had never had homemade Ranch before and now i am FOREVER ruined! Everything here is so good. Literally everything I have put in my mouth from Bar Louie is GREAT. I like there flat bread, their sliders, theyre salads, the fish, EVERYTHING!!

Great bar atmosphere. I started out with the Loaded Tots. They were awesome. It had the best cheese ever on it, not your normal loaded tots. Try you will not be disappointed. I had a garden salad and the dressing was great. I then had the sliders, yummy! Cooked perfect, overall I would go back. Oh and the service was great.

Didn't know what to expect, so I came here with no expectations. Located in the new mall, The Avenue Murfreesboro, the interior of the bar was upscale, yet low-key. Refined, yet I felt it was a place I could relax and cut loose a bit. Caitlin, my barkeep, explained their specialty (martinis), happy hour (late one starts at 10pm, hours (open til 2am every nite!), and menu (everything from popcorn to flatbread pizza to Sesame Encrusted Ahi Tuna! Though I stayed for only a short while and didn't eat anything, the ambiance, music, TV, bartenders, and other patrons were enough for me to know I will return. I read the other reviews and will need to try the food before I comment further (burp!).

I really like this place! TVs everywhere, great bar setup, friendly waitresses great crown & cokes and AMAZING WINGS! Didn't care to much for the burger, it could have used some seasoning but overall a good evening there! Will be back during happy hour!

I'm giving Bar Louie 5 stars because it's the best restaurant for happy hours and weekly specials that I've ever visited. The food, drinks, and service are very good, and the prices are totally reasonable for the quality. I recommend it strongly on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Any other night I'd give it about 3-4 stars.

Tried to go to dinner with the family. Seated ourselves, 2 different waitresses looked at us and didn't say a word. The waitress came out 3 times and no service. No hello, I'll be with you shortly. Dissapointed. So sad.

Stopped in on a whim late one night. The place was slammed and it took 30 min to find somewhere to sit. Bar was full. People were standing around everywhere. Food was ok and came out fast. Beer selection was alright. Service was slow, though that could've been to the sheer number of customers there. Everyone comes because of the upscale look, though outside of that there isn't much cause for me to come again.

I went here tonight for dinner and drinks with my girlfriend. Don't let the name or location fool you! The food was awesome, the sangria was tasty, and everyone was friendly! We wanted to sit on the patio because it felt amazing out and there was a 30 minute wait. So in the meantime we sat at the bar and ordered and pitcher of strawberry lemon sangria. Very good but it also cost more than our two entrees combined... The wait was probably closer to 15 mins before being seated at a table on the patio. We shared two entrees: the roasted vegetable flatbread and the grilled veggie wrap with fries. Both were SO good! The bartender told us that they make every bit of their food in house. You can tell it's all freshly made! There were so many things on the menu that sounded great and based on these two entrees, I will be back to try more!

They have good selections during happy hours m-f 4-7pm. I enjoy the half off appetizers and $5 martinis. A nice spot for hangout and get together. Every time I go I had great service. A nice day out on the patio fills up quick. Right around all the shopping amenities. The place like a sport bars can get pretty loud. A nice diverse environment. Definitely a hangout spot.

Too expensive, too trendy, too loud.... you get the idea. Not a fan. I ordered shrimp skewers once and literally there were about 5 tiny cocktail shrimp on two skewers. Not even big sized shrimp--- disappointing. The pretzels were great though, and the pitchers of sangria are yummy. I just feel like everything is way overpriced and you don't get the value in return.
