Well after driving 400 miles and being referred by a local resident my family and I arrived ready and hungry. The ribs were good, the brisket was dry, the pork was too saucy. The coeslaw, as awkward as it looked, was decent but the other sides were mediocre. The best sauce in the place came from the unfriendly gal who couldn't make change for other paying customers and was in seriouse need of some customer service training! I think she couldn't spare a sheet of aluminum foil to wrap up our left over ribs because she needed it to refoil her tacky red-dyed hair! You won't miss out if you never make it to this place!

Ribs are tasty. Not a fan of their sauce too much vinegar.

What a nice surprise this place was...All the reviews said it was good, but just how good we didnt realize. My wife ordered half rack of ribs and i ordered a full rack..Massive...2 plates for the full rack...took some back to the hotel(breakfast next day). All the side orders are extra which suits us just fine..we didnt order any and so didnt waste any either...Would recommend to anyone......The staff at Millington are really good and friendly...go and try..

This is one of the best chain BBQ places ever. I love Tops because no matter where I am, I can stop in and know I am getting good food at a good price. This one is a newer one and is nicer as far as the dining room goes. The BBQ is GREAT as well as the slaw. I will agree with the other review, the beans are not anything special. They make good hamburgers and they have the BEST French Fries!!

We just got into town today and wanted something quick and easy so we stopped by Tops. Both my husband and I got the bbq pork sandwiches. We were unimpressed. I don't think we will return here again. It was nothing special. Cole slaw was good. Beans were so-so. Overall nothing makes this place stand out. Sandwich, large drink, and two sides was only about $5.

Fast, friendly service, very inexpensive, and very tasty (very heavy on the vinegar) barbecue sauce, yum! I had a cheeseburger (made to order, large thin 1/4 lb patty on a big bun), fries, coleslaw and drink for $6.50. The coleslaw had a hint of mustard in the sauce and was fresh, a very refreshing take on the original recipe. The restaurant was very clean and neat. While this may not be the best restaurant in Millington or the best barbecue in Memphis, it is a great value for the money and worth a visit.

I have always liked this local chain of BBQ. The 'new' location in Millington was nice and clean, almost sterile. I have fond memories of the Highway 51 location - not so sterile! The BBQ was good, slaw and beans were tasty, too. I will always make it a point to stop in when back home!

I have been eating at Top's since I was a kid. I live in Chicago but my family all lives in the Memphis suburbs. In Chicago no matter where you go it's not Memphis style. The sauce is the problem. In Chicago it's ALWAYS sweet, sometimes honey and sometimes hot! Yuck! I love Tops sauce! My kids love their cheeseburgers and fries. Their baked beans are yummy too! I have been watching my entire family eat a pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw on it, like they serve here. I am told it's delicious but I just can't jump on that band wagon! LOL! When your in the Memphis area, check out Tops!! Our food is always hot, correct and served with a smile. I don't know their system for all the toothpicks in the cheeseburgers, because everyone orders them with different toppings, but they always get it right!!

I've had a lot of barbecue on my trip here in Millington, and while I like Tops okay, it's not my favorite. I had the third-slab ribs dinner, with fries and slaw for sides. The ribs were dry style; if you're a big fan of dry style, I'm sure it's good stuff, though I prefer wet style. The sauce on the side was tasty, if a bit too vinegary for me. So, really, this review should be, "If you like dry-style barbecue and a vinegary sauce, it's really good." Not very helpful, I guess.

I've stopped by this place several times on my way home from work.. There's been three instances that I've found hair in my food. Today I spent around $50 there to buy lunch for my coworkers. And wouldn't you know it, my sandwich had a 8-10 inch strand of hair in it. I refuse to do business here again. The people are nice, the prices are ok, but hair is unacceptable to me.

As someone who been raised on BBQ I feel Tops is one of the best. For the most part my family and I's food has been good. There have been a few slip ups (which is why they didn't receive 5 stars), but when I expressed dislike they have corrected it. There have been employees in the past that have had attitude though, but haven't had a problem in a long time. I like that they offer 10% discount to military and have many coupons circulating that you can use to save money!

Tops, it is what it is. Middle of the road BBQ. They do have the best price in town, and, the older locations (Winchester & Mendenhall) have a great burger since their grill is 'rightly seasoned'. My recommendation - go for the Memphis Perks coupon/groupon, $30 for $15. Using that will get you a lot of food at a reasonable price. You can get better BBQ at most other places, but, not at this price point.

Best place in Millington to get an awesome burger! Quiet casual place. They say they're known for their Bar-B-Q, but the Bar-B-Q is not that great to be honest. The burgers are the best thing there in my opinion.

I hate to give a rating based on one bad experience, but this pushed me over the limit today. I've had good and bad meals at this particular Tops. If you want a good cheeseburger, Tops is the place to go. If you want a "Memphis average" barbecue sandwich, Tops is the place to go. However, avoid the brisket like the plague. First of all the brisket tastes like roast beef. You're expecting some nice, smoky brisket with a bit of sauce, but no - roast beef. That would almost be excusable, but the price for it is ridiculous. Stay away from Tops brisket and ribs. They do burgers and pulled pork sandwiches pretty well, but nothing else. Oh, they also forgot to put my apple pie turnover in my drive-through order today.

My family and I just ordered our food the cashier was extremely rude and seemed disinterested in his job. We got our food within 10 mins and the fries were cold , the bbq sauce tastes like mustard, and the pulled pork is really dry . Probably the worst bbq place I've been too . After eating here we felt like we should go to another restaurant in order to get our money's worth and actually feel full after eating. Don't bother wasting your time or money here.

Fast and friendly service. The military discount will have me coming back. I had a half slab plate. The ribs were tasty when dry. I didn't care for their sauce. The sides were delicious.

Be sure you know what to order when you get in line. Also the rib sand which isn't worth money and isn't very good. The BBQ is decent and the reason it's been a staple in memphis because of it's BBQ.

Decent stuff! Fast, cheap and it's a lot of food for the money!! Also offers 10% Military discount.

We tried the burger, ribs & the BBQ nachos. The ribs were a little dry. My husband thought the burger was ok. The BBQ nachos was just ok too. Too much cheese & the BBQ sauce & pork isn't something we'll be craving anytime soon. They do have a 10% Military discount & the portions are big. But next time we crave for BBQ we'll probably go elsewhere unless where feeling really lazy and don't feel like driving too far.

We had: Cheeseburger, fries, coleslaw, potato salad, pork BBQ sandwich, sweet tea. Pass. Millington had much better to offer, but we were tired & were looking for fast food but not "fast food".

we like this place when we want to get some fast food BBQ at a very good price. This Tops is the only one who has BBQ nachos and that is are favorite item on the menu. The sweet tea here is also very good. We have had the BBQ sandwich platter which comes with two sides. It isnt the best we have ever had but for as fast as it comes out we like it.

We are not from Memphis but were certainly looking forward to good barbecue. This certainly is not it.
