The best Lenny's in Memphis for sure. I love this area and I always love the sandwich! I get #1

I used to like this Lenny's location, but they clearly have a new franchise owner who fired all of the previous staff (who knew what they were doing) and hired a slew of incompetent new employees who are poorly trained. The food was horrible. I am a little shocked by this since I ate there not that long ago and the standards were higher than most Lenny's. One thing I actually had to point out to the counter person was that I did not want lettuce because it was ALL BROWN and NASTY. She did go to get a "fresh" lettuce bucket, but it was not much better. This place is a disaster. Bring back the old employees and quality control. I won't eat there again until they do.

Lenny's is a really mixed bag for me. The food is great -- these are the best subs I've ever had, hands down. My favorite is the deluxe club, with ham, roast beef, bacon, lots of veggies...yum. The generous portions of freshly sliced meat really makes a difference -- no Subway cold cuts sitting around all day. And the large subs are so big, my boyfriend and I can split one, which is handy. That being said...the service at this location is atrocious. It is typical Midtown, "I could care less" times a thousand. We recently came here on a Saturday night, about 7pm, the only customers in the whole place, and it must have taken us at least 15 minutes to get our sandwich. After someone took our order, I looked around and wondered if anyone was actually making the sandwich -- there was someone portioning out hot sauce, someone standing at the register, and someone in the back, but no one was actually making the one sandwich we had ordered. We eventually got our sandwich, and it was fantastic, but I would hesitate to recomend this place for lunch, as I can't imagine how long the wait must be when there's actually customers.

Lenny's gets a nostalgia vote from me. In high school there was a place across the street called "Hero's Submarine Sandwich Shop" on the corner of Addison and Western in Chicago. I recall the sandwiches were pretty lousy! The bread sat out on the counter all day, for who knows how many days?! By the time it was part of your sandwich you would almost break a tooth on the rock hard crust. But then the dressing was applied. There was something about that Italian dressing, if you let it sit long enough it would work its way through the bread, saturating it with rich flavor and more importantly softening the hardest material on the planet. That Italian dressing, Lenny's has it. Though Lenny's starts out with soft bread so there's no delay in lunch. The overall flavor of a Lenny's takes me back. I am new to Lenny's so have not gotten very far through the menu. Only an Italian sub and a cheese-steak in my resume to date. Both were very good. Service was adequate, the sandwiches were BIG and tasty. Placed an order for 6 people and it was right to the last detail.

The food here has always been great here and so has the service. You get made to order subs, in a timely manner, at a great value. How anyone could compare Lenny's to Subway is beyond me. Oh yeah Subway has eight different breads, but so what. I go to a restaurant to get a filling meal, not to still leave hungry. In addition, I'm certainly not a fan of pre-cut meats and cheeses. It's so ridiculous to get a so called footlong sub with about 3 ounces of meat, an ounce of cheese, and enough lettuce to make a side salad. I'll take Lenny's half pound of meat on a 7.5 inch sub any day.

I love this Lenny's. It's close to my job and a great choice on days that i don't take my lunch with me. Love the turkey and provolone cheese sub.

It's not in my nature to be violently negative in reviews, but I don't have a choice here. Lenny's sandwiches are just not very good - simple as that. I can't even begin to wrap my head around why it's such a hallowed Memphis institution when there are so many better options - Bogie's nearby, Jimmy John's, hell - Subway makes a better hoagie. And I swear, if I hear someone talk up Lenny's cheesesteaks again, I'm going to lose it completely. They get one star for being a somewhat local outfit and for always being open, but that's it. I know that you can convince yourself that a restaurant is good if you go there over and over again and don't ever go anywhere else - I've been there - and I think that that's what's happening with Memphians and Lenny's. Seriously - try Bogie's. Try Jimmy John's if you've never had it. Then look someone in the eye and try to tell them that Lenny's doesn't need to step it up.

This was the first Lenny's I tried when I moved to Memphis and it is still my standby. It was recently remodeled and looks much nicer than it did before. Most Memphians will want to avoid it at lunch, because the Midtown crowds loves to eat here and parking can be a hassle. But, if you were like me and had never been to Lenny's, then listen up. Its a great sandwich shop that slices the meat fresh right in front of you and there sandwich menu is simple and to the point. I typically go for the deluxe club combo. You can get your sandwich in all kinds of sizes and types of bread. They have kaiser rolls, which are nice if you want a smaller meal. I typically go for the 5 inch with chips or on a hungry day the 7.5. Their in-house brand of chips are fantastic. The baked BBQ and sour cream are my choices. They also make a good philly. But, if you are looking for something different try the chicken philly or buffalo philly. They are hot and made to order. But, Lenny's gets 5 stars from me, which is rare for a chain. It's for one simple reason: the hot pepper relish. This stuff is GREAT and so SPICY, which I love. I get is on every sandwich here and you should too. This is really what sets Lenny's apart from chains like Subway and Jimmy John's. It is the only reason why I really love this place, other than the fresh cuts and bread. The only downside to this place is when they are slammed. They can, and will, forget or screw up your order if you call in or order online. Out of my dozens of experiences, this only happened once and they were making TONS of catering orders. TLDR; Lenny's is fantastic simply because of the hot pepper relish.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, there is a lot of excellent food nearby in Overton Square but sometimes you just want a sub ya know? Lenny's is a good place to get one.

This is my favorite Lenny's. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich and can almost always count on Lenny's to provide one for me. I usually get a Philly or a Club Sub and rarely do they disappoint. The service at this Lenny's is typically very good, and I always feel like they're using fresh ingredients, which is always a good thing.

It tasted like one of those Charles Steakery chains. It was fine. Nothing to write home about.

The past three times I went here were horrible for different reasons. The first time the server was stoned and couldn't comprehend my simple directions. The second time the server was sick and sneezed all over my food repeatedly. The third time my server was just an idiot and I had to repeat my order three times. All three times I said "no salt" what did I get? extra salt on a lousy sandwich. If you like generic bland subs that are only improved by super salty red pepper sauce with terrible service, then this is your place ,otherwise, go to bogeys around the block. Heck, subway is even better!
