Don't be fooled by the listing, this is also a restaurant location. This is a college hang-out from way back and local favorite for amateur sports teams to meet. The lunch buffet is a bargain and there's always a crowd during the week. The sandwiches and salads are always fresh and tasty, I like the vesuvian steak sandwhich and the hogie, the vegetarian sandwich was developed, when I took a vegetarian friend there. Garibaldi's is also home of one of the most unholy of Memphis food creations-the Barbecue Pizza. Nothing in the wildest travels of Marco Polo could prepare you for this.

Garibaldi's is a Memphis institution. I love locally owned, casual college hangouts and pizza joints and that's exactly what Garibaldi's is. The food is good and I love how they serve draft beer in frosty mugs.

I love Garibaldi's. I've been coming here for almost as long as it's been open. Whether we are coming in for the Lunch Buffet or after a game to share a few pizzas this is the place I crave when I want the best Pepperoni Pizza in Memphis. The buffet is great, lots of variety. I also think the Meatball Sub with Mozzarella is one of the best I've ever had. My wife loves the Chef Salad and they make the best Italian Dressing on the planet. All said I've never had a bad meal at Garibaldi's and that's saying something when you've been going to a place for around 30 years.

Great pizza, clean facility, good service. College student hangout, popular with Univ of Memphis students.

Usually they are pretty hit or miss with me... But I will say they are more hit than miss! I'm not crazy about pizzas anymore because i don't like thin crust anymore. I love their chicken Alfredo pasta though. I also like their salads. Noisy college atmosphere, which is cool and to be expected. Usually, the people who answer the phones are nice and the prices are decent.

Garibaldi's is a must experience pizza for anyone. I'm biased because I've always lived near the UofM and it has always been a favorite. The only thing I don't like are the onions because they use the same finely chopped onions they use for salads and they don't work as well on pizza. But a pepperoni mushroom well done is seriously my favorite pizza of all time.

Hmmm. What to say, what to say... I have fond memories of this place...mostly reminiscing about going here in high school and college with a group of friends. But it has been years since I've stopped by the brick and mortar. These days I just get delivery - because fast they are. Just this week they told me it would be 30 to 40 minute, but they were on my front door step in 20. Cha ching! I enjoy their pizza and am always impressed by how ginormous and full of goodies the salads...puny they are most definitely not. And while I usually like my pizza crust a little thicker, this thin crust is just fine. Another positive is they have Italian dishes (spaghetti, etc.) in case you're not in the pizza mood. Memphis doesn't have many places that deliver so they get major brownie points for that!

I've been coming here since I was a little kid. Great pizza and salads, but the best is coming to the lunch buffet. Great place to hang out and get a beer, but also has arcade games and is a good place to bring your kids. Also has a decked out room devoted to the Memphis Tigers in case you're a University of Memphis (or Memphis State) fan.

This is a good "anytime" spot. I eat here regularly at lunch as well as order pizza and subs for take-out or delivery. It's fast, reasonably priced and yummy. What it is NOT - it's not Giardanos of Chicago, a wine bar, a fancy date place, pricey or quiet What it IS - easy, yummy, fast, fun (they have pinball and Ms PacMan, can you really argue w that?) and very reasonably priced I love this place and usually visit at least once a week, mostly for lunch. They have a rewards type punch card that you can use for the mini-buffet and build up to a free buffet!. Oh! And the buffet changes each day and doesn't just include pizza (bbq baked chicken, chicken and dumplins, etc - each day has a special and it's listed on a sign inside). Just go there. Take a few friends and get your Ms. Pacman challenge on!

The place is a local legend, yet the legend is very outdated. Ordered the 10" bbq pizza. It was served quickly and cut into 8 slices. There was not even bbq meat on each slice. We also ordered a hot Italian sandwich. The menu says hot or cold, they got it both right on our order. Hot on the edges, ice cold in center. The overall appearance is a very dirty and the employees are unconcerned. Will not return.

I was hoping to be more impressed. Suffice it to say that if I was at home I am pretty sure I could have done as well out of MY freezer. I felt dirty eating there and that says a lot since I've eaten at some sketchy places in Qatar while deployed. My feeling is that they are living off their reputation from days gone by.

The food is great. You can expect a level of quality from Garibaldi's that far exceeds what any national chain could offer. The family that owns the restaurant "obviously" knows how to make people happy. Enjoy!

I haven't eaten here in YEARS, and I can honestly say, back then it was really great pizza and service, and even today it's still the same great service and food. Friend offered to meet me for lunch there Friday a couple weeks back and they do have a buffet until 2pm. Standard fare, although if you ask nicely, they will make a specialty pizza and put it out for you.

I'll start with the positive. The order taker and delivery person could not have been more friendly and courteous. This type of service is in short supply these days. Now the down side. The pizza. I ordered a 16" Pepperoni, beef and onion with a salad on the side. I ended up throwing the salad away as it had been overly chilled leaving it limp and tasteless. The pizza crust was soft and chewy...not what I look for in a pizza. My first thought, as harsh as it sounds is that the taste and appearance was on par with frozen pizza. I was not impressed, however that has been the case with all of the pizza I have had in Memphis aside from Aldos. The standards for Memphis pizza seem to be notoriously low. Many Memphians really love what the shops here have to offer.....I just can't help but feel that they either haven't had GOOD pizza or they have been lulled into a state of apathy. I will try Garibaldis again and give their sandwiches a shot, however I will not eat another slice of their pizza. For a town with such a large Italian population its a shame that no one can make a good pie.

This pizza has a one of a kind taste its always cooked to order so that means hot and fresh each and every time. The staff are always nice & kind and in my book this pizza is the best pizza in Memphis. It wont hurt your budget which is nice because its around the way from the University of Memphis and tons of college students flock here to eat the pizza.

Started eating here as a kid back in the 80s, just like Garibaldi's. It's an awesome joint, though I think that is already pretty well known. It is possibly the best pizza in Memphis, but I'm not a big pizza expert.

In all the time away from Memphis I still have longings for Garibaldi's. You can find great pizza elsewhere, but in Memphis it's the best I had for ten years. The crust is average but do you eat a pizza for the crust? The rest of it, mmm mmm good. I always stuck with the barbecue pizza which is as close to legal drugs as you can get. I would wake up with cravings for it in the middle of the night. There is a lot of cheese on it so I hope you're in the mood for it. It's good stuff. Just make sure to get a lot to drink with it, it makes you thirsty. This isn't just a catering place, it's a restaurant. Its proximity to U of Memphis means they're sure to get the college crowd who should be thankful to have such good pizza nearby.

Garibaldi's is a favorite among University of Memphis students. It's cheap and delicious food, which makes it a staple in many dormrooms and college students' stomachs. College was when I was first introduced to Garibaldi's. It is not the best pizza in the world, but it's a solid pie for a very reasonable price. This particular experience with Garibaldi's was on New Year's Day. It was a day of recovery, and this place was one of the few establishments actually open. Not only were they open, but they delivered! Hot food. Fast. Cheap. and I did not even have to change out of my PJs. It was perfect. I was not in the mood for pizza, but to my luck, they also have sandwiches and select appetizers as well. Scott and I ordered a feast. He got the Italian Supreme Sandwich. I got the Meatball Sub. We split an order of Toasted Ravioli and Italian Spinach. I thought my sandwich was great. It definitely hit the spot. The meatballs were tender, and the bread was warm, toasted, and buttery. I would not give the marinara sauce five stars. It was a little too sweet, but it was a great mix with the savory meatballs and buttery bread. Scott said his sandwich was nothing special, but it was good. The toasted ravioli was average. it tasted like your standard toasted ravioli, with the same marinara that came on the meatball sub. I love toasted ravioli, though, so I ate it all. The spinach is a good size and also yummy. We also each got a piece of cheesecake, which was also devoured before I had time to snap a photo. Scott ate the New York Style Cheesecake and I had a piece of Turtle Cheesecake. It tasted like your standard, store-bought cheesecake. Nothing that knocked your socks off, but good enough to eat every bite. The speed of delivery is spot on as well, and the delivery guys are very laid back and cool. Overall, Garibaldi's a solid restaurant. They have good food at a good price. The best part is that they deliver, so you do not even have to leave your house to get it. This is perfect for a lazy day.

Just blocks away from the University of Memphis, Garibaldi's is almost like tradition with the college crowd and alumni. Luckily, I attended the U of M, and then my husband and I bought a house in the neighborhood. Not just for the Garibaldi's, of course, but the location is a definite plus. Their pizza is the best in Memphis, as far as I'm concerned, mainly because of the yummy tomato sauce. I'm pretty picky about my sauces, and it takes just the right combination of spicy and sweet to make this chick happy. Garibaldi's does. I also like to stop in every now and again for the very reasonable lunch buffet, and the Miss Angie's salads.

A long time favorite hangout for college students, this place has been around since the days I was on campus. And I still really like their pizza. You can get the crust either hand tossed or thick, with all the usual suspects for topping choices. But they have a good specialty pizza here that is unique to Garibaldi's. It's the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Pizza. It tastes like hot wings on a pizza, and it's really good. They also have great sandwiches - my favorite is the Turkey Reuben on toasted rye bread. The Meatball sandwich is killer as well and served on homemade bread. In fact, all their subs are served on homemade bread they make fresh each day.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
