Every time we eat here, we always have a great experience! You are greeted enthusiastically and seated immediately. On our most recent experience, we had a fabulous waitress (Jamiqui?) who was fabulous and it was her second day! Their menu has lots to choose from and their catfish is great. They have added some new items and sides and the crab cakes are my new must have! Not too spicy and served on a bed of the best cole slaw I have! If you are looking for a great place in the Cordova-Wolfchase area, you have to stop in!

Yuck, Yuck, Yuck!!. Where do I start? When we got out of the car, the music in the parking lot was blaring so loudly that it actually hurt my ears. I had to repeat "I hope it is not this loud inside" 4 times to my friend before he heard it. Unfortunately, it was just as loud inside. I requested a "quiet" table to which the server got the hint and stated she would turn down the music. She did, but it was still way too loud. When we were there it was prime time lunch (12:30pm) on a weekday and the restaurant was empty. That should have been a hint for us to run, not walk, to some place else. We ordered a onion blossom for an appetizer. It came out 2 minutes (I looked at my watch) before our food. No time to really eat it, not that I cared to. It was not fully cooked and still had raw batter at the bottom. It was sitting in grease and not palatable at all. We sent it back. I got the sirloin tips and mashed potatoes. It all was sitting in a plate of grease. I had expected the tips to be grilled but they were evidently fried in a pan with onions and peppers and not drained-just simply poured onto the plate grease and all. The the mashed potatoes were swimming in butter. Dont get me wrong, I love butter. Afterall I am southern. But there was more butter than mash potatoes. I am not joking. My friend found his chicken equally as unpalatable. He ordered fried chicken with a side of green beans. He said the chicken was raw and so were the green beans. I was about to complain and send it all back but my friend said "forget it" and shoved some money on the table and we left. I've yet to comment on the service or lack thereof, but that would take up another page on this site. Just dont waste your money on Coltons. It isnt worth it. Tis a shame really. It wasnt a bad place when it first opened. Complacency is a killer in the restaurant business and I think it has killed this restaurant.

Horrible Service!! Waited way too long for appetizer and food came out right after. The waiter was rude and talked to my boyfriend and I like we were stupid. I said I did not want a to go box and then she asked if I was sure!! Will not ever be back. If you are in Memphis go somewhere else!!!

I went there for the "kids free night" and order 2 adult meals so that I would get the kids dinners for free. I asked that one be made to go and because I did that I had to pay for it and the kids meals. If you're going to advertise that you get 2 kids meals for free with an adult meal purchase actually do what you advertise. I asked for the manager and no came to my table. Service is horrible. Food is only OKAY. Won't be back.

I definitely agree with the reviews posted. This is a middle of the road steakhouse. The waiter was personable and helpful. The facility is fairly clean considering the peanut shells. I would not object to a return visit.

2:30 on a Thursday afternoon. Ordered 2 salads, one without cheese (allergy). They weren't busy yet it took over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. My salad had to be returned twice because it had cheese. By the third salad I picked out the cheese I found. They comped the meal but...really? 1.5 hours later we left.

Worst service possible. Almost an hour after we were seated we finally had orders taken. We actually called the manager and explained our long wait and frustration and he did nothing. Will NOT return. Multiple staff standing in the back doing nothing and this place is not busy at all. Too many things to complain about to even go into it. If I could give 0 I would.

Been here about a few times. Never had a bad meal. Service is great. Would definitely dine here if you never had.

Colton's is usually not great, but I went not too long ago with three infants and 4 adults. The food was really good and the service was actually great. Even better when the restaurant is clean(sans peanuts).

The food was pretty good if you like getting your salad and rolls last. Our waitress (angel) really is terrible at her job and probably the worst waitress ever. Even if you forget orders, drinks you should at least have good customer servicemen try to smile. What's worse is I believe we spoke to the manager who did listen to our complaint but didn't offer any apologies or really Even speak. Our waitress even acknowledge that her service was terrible. I would give this a negative star if I could and should have walked out without paying!

I take the family here every once in a while. The food is consistently good but the service can sometimes be hit or miss. I would recommend this to friends & family.

Came here 1 Saturday afternoon while my car was being serviced across the street. The place was pretty empty. It was maybe 2 other parties in the restaurant. The menu is basic. The food was just ok but service was good. Not sure if I want to return or not.

Tried to eat/ grab a beer here but after sitting at the bar for 10 min ( my personal line in the sand to at least be acknowledged) I walked out. This was at around 6 on a Sunday so it's not like it was some random off time. Disappointing.

So I'm from Arkansas originally, and I went to a tiny college in a tiny town where going to Colton's was a nice night out. Like date night nice. Like my parents took me there for graduation nice. So I'm a little biased. I love Colton's, and this location is very good. The prices are good, the food is great, and I've never had anything bad. My only negative is that they aren't terribly nice to single diners. My boyfriend works crazy hours, so I often eat out alone. Usually not a problem, but at this Colton's I've been ignored, forgotten, and loudly sighed at way too many times. Not every time, but enough that I hesitate to go unless it's the middle of lunch or I can sit in the bar, where I usually get great service. Other than that, a solid choice with the best rolls ever.

Went there tonight for dinner. Ordered a Caesar salad as a side, which was covered in way too much dressing because the romaine lettuce underneath was brown. Pointed that out to the waitress, she said nothing and just took the salad away. Ordered a 10 oz ribeye for dinner. The steak they brought me was CLEARLY a sirloin. I asked the waitress if she was sure it was a ribeye, she went back to the kitchen. A couple minutes later, she tells me that the manager said that it was a ribeye, it was just cut funny. And she see's my point because even SHE thought it was a ribeye. Ummmmm, what? She leaves again. I cut into the "ribeye" and realize that it is, indeed, a sirloin, so I send it back to the kitchen. Then they realized that it was apparently not a ribeye. I won't ever go back. It's one thing to make a mistake, it's quite another to play a customer like she's an idiot and do it with a straight face. Oh. To make up for it, I got a coupon for a free blooming onion. But they'll probably bring me some funny cut green beans instead.

Coltons has pretty good food. Yet, it bothers me when I check in on yelp, see that I have been awarded a coupon to receive a menu item via said check in, but then when I proceed to use the coupon, the manager says that she has never heard of yelp or seen anything like that before. Someone please tell me how you can be a restaurant manager in this day and age and you have never heard of yelp or the coupons awarded to customers for checking in at your restaurant. Soured my entire evening!

I sat at the bar. The place was clean, they had the game going on TV and the service was good. The steak is where Colton's really shines. I had the 12 oz sirloin with a salad, broccoli and a sweet potato. Probably not the best for my cholesterol but plenty of fiber for my diet. I order my steak medium rare and rarely get one cook to perfection. I actually called the bartender over to see how well the steak was cook. When I sliced into it, the locked up juice inside ran out. Man, that's how to cook a steak. The warm pink center was perfection and it tasted great. The salad was great for starts and the broccoli and sweet potato just added flavor to the meal. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the music was a bit loud. I definitely got full from the meal and didn't walk out with that dragging, lazy feeling you get after eating a big meal. Really was perfection except the loud music. If you want a real steak, check out Colton's. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

10/18/2014 The family and I arrived around 6pm for dinner. We were immediately greeted and seated. Colton's is one of our favorite places. We were in the mood for steak and had been thinking about it all day. I know, I know.....I just had steak the night before but it's never a bad time for steak. Breakfast, lunch or dinner steak can be eaten. They have in shell salted peanuts at the table. We ordered the southwest rolls (not on the menu) for an appetizer. For $7.99 I expect more than three rolls cut in half but they are so so good. I eat them alone while my wife and daughter enjoy the ranch dipping sauce that comes with the southwest rolls. We were served with hot fresh dinner rolls. This time the rolls were great. Either they went back to the original rolls or they perfected the cooking of the new rolls. Our last two visits, the rolls were not good at all. I ordered the 16oz thick cut ribeye (medium) and got greedy with a request for del rio style with a double order of smashed potatoes instead of a salad. If you know me you know I don't do salad. My daughter ordered the 9oz sirloin (medium) with a sweet potato butter only and garden salad. My wife ordered the 16oz thin cut ribeye (medium) with a sweet potato butter only and fried okra instead of salad. We order our steaks medium and allow them to rest a while when served because our experience has been medium well was too done for our taste. Dinner was great but the service was EXCELLENT. Our waitress Kaitlyn was wonderful. She took excellent care of us and was very pleasant.

Chipotle chicken nachos are off the charts. Service is above expectations every time. Fun atmosphere good music. Bar area is great for watching ball games. Parking is easy and street access is simple from either direction. My go to and recommended steak place.

Still the same place that I eat at last time. There wasn't a lot of servers there for a Saturday night. Our server was attentive and did bring things as quickly as she could.

Eh, this place was just okay. My food was kind of bland. I got the fried catfish, and the breading tasted like it was just cornmeal and nothing else. It could be a case of me just ordering the wrong thing because others offered me bits of their food (not out of pity, we're just the type to share stuff with each other) and it was good. The Hawaiian steak had a good flavour, and the broccoli was so amazing. I'd definitely consider going back there and trying something else, but next time I'd just get other things. The service was great though, our waiter was wonderful. The atmosphere was very generic though. As another review said, if you've been to one of those peanut-shell-on-the-floor places, you've been to them all.

This is your every day, average, run of the mill, peanut shells on the floor and soda in a mason jar joint. I mean, what can you say? If you've been to one- you've been to them all. Same restaurant, different name. On his slower days, my husband and I will go to lunch near his work. Colton's was close and we decided to give it a shot. I had the smothered chicken and loaded sweet potato. In my book, there's not much better than a fat, sweet potato topped with loads of butter, cinnamon, brown sugar and marshmallows. Mmmmmm. It's like dessert- only better. Bottom line- don't come to this place expecting much. Is it delicious? No. Is it something you'll run and tell your neighbors about? No. Will it fill the hunger void in a pinch? Yes. And you can throw peanut shells on the ground. Bonus points all around.

Went there last night and could not have been more surprised by the negative reviews. The service was wonderful and more importantly, the food was delicious :). The salad that I purchased was fresh and my husbands steak was cooked just right. Will recommend to friends!!!

With a little more attention to detail, this place could be better. Pretty good value for a steak dinner. 1. Steak was cooked just fine 2. Ceasar salad was soggy and overdressed 3. Margarita was served in a nice sized mug and the rim was salted modestly. I know people like those syrupy mixes, but this could use some fresh lime juice to add a fresh tart bite.

I have not been to a colton's in years , and i wont be back.. anytime you see a place not busy on a friday night .. thats a sign . Waitress was great. but my stuffed chicken was horrible.. bacon raw and disgusting tasting, they put so many mushrooms on it it overpowered the chicken.. wifes food was ok, but for $50 for two meals and 2 kids no alcohol, i can go to Lonestar ( or anywhere else ) and have much better food, closer to home. They also server their sodas out of medium size liquor glasses,..(tiny)
