High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. This is by far the worst Applebee's I have ever visited - and I have been to several locations of this huge chain. This particular one is run down and has terrible service. Our waiter seemed to be poorly trained. He didn't know the menu. And he kept letting dirty dishes pile up. My friend's meal was burnt and had to be sent back. They had only 2 kinds of salad dressings and were told that was because they were "cutting back". Then we ordered dessert and one of the desserts (the dessert of the friend whose main entree had been burnt) appeared half eaten. Her "meal" was free, but after this comedy of errors, the ENTIRE meal for everyone should have been at no cost to us.

We went in and it was crowded they seated our group and started on our orders the service was a little slow seems like they may have been understaffed plus this was a very busy night.

The food was not good this evening. Either too well done or not done enough. Waitor was not properly trained. We did not get our drinks refilled. The silverware was dirty and dessert looked half eaten already.

I want to start off by saying that this Applebee's location is still open by the grace of some kind of supernatural force because I go to this location once a year for 7 years and nothing has changed. First, I don't like Applebee's food at all so whenever I did go it is because I am with a group of people and majority rules so I always end up going along. Second, the wait time is always long at this location and majority of the time it is for no reason. As I speak there are plenty of empty tables that they could feel instead of having us on a false wait and lie to us that it is only a 10 to 15 minute wait time. I don't believe there is even a host because it takes forever for someone to appear at the podium before they notice you are there and obviously the servers dont insist on doing the job themselves or notify someone of guest up front. Third, the food is bland and the alcoholic drinks are watered down. Instead of a server recommending what to get on the menu they just appear and disappear until you make your own decision or leave which they do not care if you do. As I have stated before the food is bland and it was lukewarm as usual. I tell my friends this all the time but they never listen! Lastly, the dessert my friends had was a cookie skillet and a scoop of ice cream on it. The ice cream was runny and cookie was too firm and lukewarm yet again. I don't know what people love about Applebee's or this location. I started to ask the workers do they need new hires because they are in desperate need of kitchen and front of the house help.

I went to this restaurant an hour and thirty minutes before they stopped serving food. Once my food came out it was warm. The server I had that night was nice but very forgetful. He said that he had been up all night so I won't hold that against him. He did apologize each time we had to remind him that we were waiting for him to bring our entree and appetizer or our beverages. It was not busy when we arrived at this location. So I do not understand why you have to wait so long for your food. This experience was not as worse as what I encountered at the location in Bartlett but I would suggest that the staff focus more on customer service and speed while ensuring that the food is cooked thoroughly.

This is the worst Applebee's I have ever been to in my life and that is saying a lot. I love Applebee's and have been to so many of them , everytone in Memphis area and many across the US. I should have walked out the minute I walked in . The place smelled like sour mildew. Obviously, someone had mopped the place with a dirty mop. Another customer walked out over this. It was dead at prime lunch time should have told me something. I would have walked but when I went to the restroom, my husband and son had already ordered our drinks so I felt stuck. The menus were dirty. The food was horrible. My husband got shrimp scampi and it was a few pieces of shrimp in tomato sauce...That is not shrimp scampi! Dont even ask me how they screwed up something as simple as french onion soup. Monica, our waitress was quite pleasant or I would have totally went off right then and there. Started to ask for the manager , but if they could not smell how disgusting their restaurant was, then how could they help? This must seem normal. I never ever want to go into this establishment again.

Ate here a few nights ago and it was a nightmare. Our server was very nice but the good was disgusting. The bartender and other servers were standing around talking very loud about complete nonsense. The restaurant was VERY dirty!!! Our table was sticky!! I've worked for Applebee's and was shocked. One star is generous. Also had to wait for check for close to 15 minutes after asking for it.

I usually enjoy Applebee's but this was has to be the worst one I have ever been to. The place was nasty. I was seated at a dirty table 4 servers walked by me several time but would not stop. After 15 min of waiting I got up and left. The bad thing was that they really wasn't that busy. I will never go back to this store!

  • Charia J.

Never again. So they brought my desert out with a finger nail on the plate. Nasty very nasty. We notified the manager, and she avoided us...kept us waiting. Finally I went over to her to address the issue and she had a bad attitude...really bad. Then I asked her for corporate number and she acted as though she didn't have it.

I'm not really an Applebee's fan to begin with, but I normally find things on the menu that I like. So, other locations would probably get a 3-4 star from me. However, I wish I could give this one zero stars. The service and food were always very, very bad. (I gave them a few shots and now I'm done) I really wish they would go out of business and give a decent restaurant a shot at this prime location.

Good location in Midtown. Pretty good food. The crowd mars the ambiance of this place. It can be rather...oh I won't say .....I'll let you gather your own opinion. Music is way too loud.

Oh Applebee's what is going on at this location? I'm not a fan of chains, and really not a big fan of Applebee's. Aside from their Weight Watchers menu (which is just a genius move on their part) I've never really climbed on board. However, pregnancy will make you crave ridiculous things. Cue the Oriental Chicken Salad here. Come hell or high water, there have been a handful of times I have had to get my mouth around this incredibly lame, yet delicious salad. We've made the mistake of dining here on all occasions but one. Aside from the fabulously wonderful host at the host stand (no seriously- this guy takes the cake and the pan it was baked in. Give him a raise) all the experiences left a lot to be desired. Whether it is busy or dead you will wait forever for any sort of service once seated at your table. Both our orders were wrong on 3 different occasions and the server argued with me when I tried to tell him that the Oriental salad didn't come with honey mustard dressing. Really?? You're going to argue with the pregnant lady who is craving a menu item you've had since you opened your doors in the 80s? Honey mustard dressing on an Oriental salad? Just a very unfriendly, yuck experience all around. The extra star is for curbside pick up to go. On the last occasion where my craving for this salad surpassed any amount of reasoning, we opted to go for this option. I wish I could rate it separately. Service was great, food correct and they were extremely friendly. My advice- if you're seriously craving the 'Bee, don't eat inside this location. Get it to go and indulge in the privacy of your own home- for numerous reasons.

I am usually a fan of applebee's, but this location has some of the worst service i have ever seen. Every time I gave it another try they disappointed me again by making my group wait 30 minutes for drinks and getting most of the order wrong. We gave this location 3 tries before we gave up for good, and we won't be going back.

  • Ken L.

My worst Applebee's experience ever. There were tables available, but we waited for what seemed like 30 minutes, with a bunch of other people waiting. We finally got seated and the place was freezing, the large screen t.v. by the bar was all screwed up with wavy lines and crap, the music was loud and annoying, and this has to be the weakest food I've had here. Maybe the Applebee's that were in Overland Park (where they are headquartered) really are better. No, that can't be it, because the one's in Orange County, CA, are fine as well. What the hell.

  • Celia M.

Applebee's is a pretty standard chain to eat at anywhere I suppose. I can't say I've ever really had a bad experience with it, and the two times I ate here were no different. The service here is good, and the food is yummy. The only thing is, it can be a bit of a noisy place on certain nights... so if you're looking for somewhere quiet, you might want to look elsewhere.

So after the grizzlies take a horrible loss to golden state last night, my friend and i leave The Forum and go to Applebee's. We're told that Vanessa would be our server. Well, after 20 mins of NO ONE coming to our table or even walking by to serve other customers around us...we left and went to ihop. This is my 2nd bad experience here so i won't be going back or suggesting that my friends go. We all went as a group one night a couple years ago and were seated and then rushed into ordering because the kitchen was closing. So WHY seat us if the kitchen is closing? We're not here 4 drinks only!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

  • Matt F.

Man, I wish you could give a place 0 stars. I can't speak for the food here because in 30 minute nobody (not just me got seated). Understandable for a busy restaurant, which this place was, BUT I counted 11 open tables that would sit at least 4 people each. The place was busy but it doesn't help that most of the staff was visibly eating food out in the open. So they're useless. The other half of the staff had a look on their face like someone had put shit on their upper lip. Servers didn't know where food was going and I saw multiple servers walking food back and forth trying to find people. I'm not a big reviewer but I had to report this. My gosh, worst restaurant experience ever. And I didn't even get seated. Cleanliness, attitude, customer appreciation - all 0 out of 5. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
