Its a whole in the wall hamburger shack just off the highway BUT man are those burgers good. Just take a seat, they will be right with you and get your order or stay in the car and they come and put the old fashioned window trays for you to enjoy your meal carside. Dont look at it as a rundown place, Its worth the trip!

Authentic, quality drive-in. We were a bit surprised to find it open at the end of December, but then again, we are from Ohio. The fish sandwich was excellent. We would also recommend the chuckwagon sandwich. We ordered a few side as well. The sides were fine and the sandwiches were filling, so we didn't have room left to try and desserts.

Great original drive-in, showing its age in a good way. Slaw dogs and pimento cheese sandwiches on the menu -- we ordered hamburgers and onion rings and they were lovely. Wish we'd been hungry enough for malts.

Definitely a local joint. We were traveling from MD- TX and saw this place on Yelp (shocking for us AND the staff) and was pleasantly surprised. nothing fancy but as i'm so glad we went here rather any other generic chain. TRY IT

It's almost impossible not to like this kind of place and I've dined in my car here about a half dozen times over the years. Cardin's gets 4 stars just because they're still there and still getting it done the old fashioned way. Plus, the service is always fast and friendly. Hot freshly prepared food is just a bonus.

Great little run-down hole-in-the-wall style drive in. Menu is very american- fast food, burgers, fries, shakes, hot dogs etc. Very cheap, talkin less than 2 dollars for a hot dog. Us 3 adults and 2 kids ate an entire meal for under 20 bucks. Eating area is okay, the tables were a little dirty but that's okay because it's outside. Definitely want to go back if i'm ever in the immediate vicinity again. Pretty much the only restaurant we saw in Mascot if i'm not mistaken? 5 stars, would stuff my face again.

I've never had a bad thing off the menu. My favorite is the cheeseburger with a side of fried mushrooms.

The folks here are always great! I'm not a huge fan of their onion rings (they seem sweet) everything else I've had AWESOME! Everyone raves about their shakes, seems peanut butter is a huge draw. The bacon cheeseburger keeps me coming back. Plus just going to this landmark makes me happy!

Extremely pleased. We were passing through traveling back to IL & needed a place to stop. The service was great & food was good & quick. I don't typically stop at places like this but glad I did based on the yelp reviews. While here, there were several local people coming and going so that was a good sign as well.

This was a hit for the whole family! SO good!! The service was fast and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The Bacon Chessboard was delicious with a fresh bun. We are traveling through town and will most likely be back before we leave. This is a great inexpensive place to eat and it is SO yummy!

This staple of Strawberry Plains gets the top rating for nostalgia, consistency, longevity and serving a fine product. This establishment has been around far longer than I've been alive and has been providing the backdrop for dates, hanging out with friends or indulging in quiet moments with an ice cream for decades. There aren't many drive-ins left, especially those that are locally owned, so I applaud the proprietors for keeping this important piece our community going. Favorites include bacon chili cheeseburgers, chili dogs and krinkle cut fries. But when I crave something from Cardin's, it's always a milkshake. While all their shakes are delicious, the best is the real banana shake. It's worth going out of your way to visit this gem. There's nothing like enjoying a burger, fries and a shake served from a metal tray hanging on your car window.

The pork BBQ sandwich with extra pickles and cole slaw is a must! Add some 1/2 and 1/2 ice tea and you're set.

I kept passing this for months and noticing how busy it was. During dinner, the place is packed! It's on the main road and easy to get to. A little hard to head back east / trying to cross west-bound traffic on 11E, though. They have been in business for nearly 50 years. Old-Fashioned drive through with some modern items on the menu. The server comes to your vehicle and if you eat there, they hook a tray to your window. I was almost expecting them on roller skates. Very prompt and efficient when it comes to service! The food was good. I wouldn't rate it as great or the best. I had the chili burger and Mac N Cheese and my husband had the Double cheese burger with Mac N Cheese. Now it says Mac N Cheese on the menu, but they are triangle bites of fried Mac N Cheese. My burger seemed almost dry but very tasty. The Mac N Cheese bites were good, but definitely greasy. They do know how to make some ice tea! I had 1/2 Lemonade / Ice Tea (Arnold Palmer) and it was really good! I wouldn't eat here often due to it being unhealthy, but you need to do unhealthy every once in a while. They do breakfast and have a variety of ice cream items. I would definitely stop by for an ice cream on a hot day! I would have almost given it a 4 due to it's uniqueness. You can eat in your car or they have several benches out front you can eat at as well. On a warmer day, I would opt at eating at the benches and watching people. Even though it was cold (28 degrees) when we went, there were several there. My guess is that they are locals and regulars. There's a private house next door and I am sure they are nearly blocked in on a busy day. The only reason it's noisy is that it is on a busy highway.

Still open with one car in the place, on a Tuesday at 10:30 at night! Score! Plus, better than the famous Dick's of Seattle.

This place is a unique old fashioned drive in diner. You can eat at your car or at the picnic tables outside. Great burgers, hot dogs, and shakes, but my favorite is the Mac n cheese bites that are deep fried.

Great old fashioned drive in food. The chuckwagon sandwich is a real treat, and the burgers are delicious. The oyster basket is quite a bargain. I would eat there more often if I didn't live so far away...
