Nothing (much) fancy - just always consistently good. Well-prepared vegetables, delicious pies, generous portions and good main dishes. I've tried most everything and it's all good.

I used to go to Sunset alot. Decent food for the price. However I haven't been able to go back since I had bugs fall from the ceiling into my plate and the waitress acted like it was no big deal. Didn't even offer to help. In fact all she said was 'Yeah. Vendors bring those in.' Paid the bill and left. Never to return!

THIS IS OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT..when we are missing home ...we go to the "Sunset" restaurant in lebanon, tn...it is the BEST HOME COOKED MEAL in the world...except for my momma...lol!!!! We always get their sweet southern tea with lemon..both of us..because they don't serve alcohol ...none!!! This time Tony opted for the Country Ham dinner with three choices of veggies,...mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy and Collard Greens (w/ vinegar) and rolls/butter...I got the Roast Beef with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes with more gravy, sweet creamed corn and Green beans with rolls and butter... OMG...they had to wheel us both out..We refused to leave anything on our plates...and the portions are HUGE...and the price!!!! with Taxes...$20.51 plus tip.. A MEAL to DIE FOR!!!! Thanks to all the ladies in the kitchen at Sunset..my only regret......I was too full to eat a piece of the COCONUT CREAM PIE....OMG...homemade DESSERTS too... YOU GOT TO GO!!! it is worth the drive out there from Nashville!!

I am always open minded when it comes to small town restaurants. While this place does have its charm in the fact that it is a locals joint. Decor is simple which is fine by me, the food is pretty lacking. I had the roast beef which had no flavor (tasted watery to me), as did the mac & cheese (a bit more salt in the boiling of the pasta could help), the cold slaw is nothing special (you pretty much can get the same a your local supermarket deil). My boyfriend had the broasted chicken which has a decent crust on it, and I did enjoy the mash patatoes, and hushpuppies. Didn't try any of the pies. All in all an alright place if tired of the big chain restaurants that line the road. But nothing special that i would go out of my way for.

Pretty darn good home cookin'! I went here with my husband and a girlfriend. We all 3 ordered the fried catfish plate with 3 sides. We tried the fried okra, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, and white gravy and biscuits. The meal also came with hush puppies and rolls or cornbread muffins. My friend and I both tried the coconut pie. We got so much food that I was so full and had leftovers for later. I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 because they use instant potatoes instead of making homemade mashed potatoes. If I had known that, I wouldn't have ordered them and I wouldn't order them again. Everything else was really good and I will definitely go back when I'm in Lebanon.

I'm not a fan of this place. I've been twice and both times I thought the food was OK. Everytime I mention to someone that I don't like this place I get crazy looks and the HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE IT. I think the food is ok, nothing special. I've tried the country fried steak and the roast beef. I'm just not impressed with this place.

Took the grandson here for some fried chicken with mac and cheese. It doesn't get any better! Service from a person that likes people, food prepared by someone that wants to impress you and desert that makes you want to scream yeee haaa!!! Grandma even approves

I believe that this restaurant has been in Lebanon for quite a while now. The parking wraps half-way around the building and the outside of the building looks plain. This restaurant is older and reminds me of an old-fashioned type of place but it is clean and keeps up with the Department of Health and Sanitation's codes. It has never had a critical inspection mark in the past 8+ years. There was an older lady named Shirley who worked the register/front counter area, and she was very friendly. My favorite items on their menu would have to be the chocolate pie with meringue topping and their combo-dinners. Lots of people seem to like the fried chicken because it is super tasty, and the dinner rolls.

This is a friendly, family restaurant, serving good southern-style food. The parking lot was full - a good sign. Everyone seemed to be local, regular customers. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had the chicken, which was moist and tender. The chicken fingers were made with the chicken supremes, not just finger-size chicken strips. The sides were good, and the prices were very reasonable.

Delicious home cooking! The meat and three looked phenomenal, especially the fried catfish, but we weren't quite hungry enough to order it. I had a great BLT stuffed with bacon and a side of okra that was crispy and delicious. My honey had the chili and super creamy macaroni and cheese. The biscuits were yeasty and perfectly golden, and the sweet tea almost gave me a toothache. The homemade chocolate pie was also yummy. The waitress was super nice and the restaurant was packed with locals. Also, we spent around $7 per person! Lebanon is full of chain restaurants and fast food, if you're looking for authentic Southern cooking give Sunset a try.

This is where you find the locals. If you want some down-home southern food this is it. You won't leave hungry, and the prices are affordable. The whole family can enjoy it! Dress is extremely casual-no need to get all dolled up. All you will want to do is eat, eat, and eat some more. Greens, okra, fried chicken, catfish, roast beef, country fried steak, mac-n-cheese, biscuits, cornbread, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes and gravy are just a few of the options.
